Everybody getting ready for a very exciting matchup between the

(01:54):
Dodgers and the Rangers. The Dodgers play of late has
been mediocre. Don't don't fool yourself into thinking they've been
playing well despite the sweep of the sad, dirty dust
of the Rocky Mountain Mines. The Colorado Baseball team. They
are not, and I repeat, they are not painting the

(02:16):
town purple, not this year, maybe never again.

Speaker 4 (02:22):

Speaker 3 (03:40):
First We.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Discussed it yesterday pee, or maybe the day before. Did
you know the machine that makes peeps the number one
easter candy in America. They say they make five million
peeps per day throughout the course the calendar year to
prepare for the amount of peeps that they will sell

(04:04):
on Easter or in the Easter season. The machine that
makes peeps, called the depositor, has remained unchanged for over
half a century, and the recipe of peeps has not
changed either. Mixture of liquid, granulated sugars, corn syrup, gelatine, vanilla.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
That is it. Peeps. He dies number one candy. You know,
I maybe die here or there?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Okay, you know a little red five and oh that's
good for you.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
That's a green fifteen like that? You know.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
It's all that tells the tail, that tells the tail.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Here, it's great for your gall bladder and NX.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
What if you don't have a gall bladder. Where does
it go?

Speaker 4 (04:48):
It goes to the the the fupa, That's where it goes.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Oh, somebody's got a foop. I'm screwed, man? Are you
saying somebody around here is gonna foop so good easter,
foop Okay, matt uh in a diversionary way, we will
because it's been a great week in great sports talk right,
great sports talk, Dodger homestand a full show on Thursday,

(05:15):
three hours every other day right in the afternoon drive
where we like to be sure. Today we're flexed back
a little bit. But it's Friday, right hey, but right now, hey,
to commemorate the party fun guy week we've had like
leisure suit Larry out in Santa Monica in the seventies.

(05:37):
It's time for the lessons. Listen, Jim Twitter about town Pitcher.
I guess you delivered a really sick burnt no concerns
since oh come on, signor Smith proud a Taliano?

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Oh bona, Sarah you sausage?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Lesson? What let's ring in? Let's ring into the segment together.
Let's ring in together, guys, I'm.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Here the time we're loading into the couch and the
significance here of the bell. And I should note before
having that each crew names themselves. They have named themselves,
these six taking up space as each one is ringing
a bell, and the significance of that is what are
you on?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
This is one of our traditions.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
All astronauts throughout this rout and various programs have had
their traditions.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
For us, we always pardon it. He gets an outfit too,
it's his rocket.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
Why is Bezos at the end ringing the bell and
wearing the suit He didn't go up.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
He gets to wear an outfit too.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
It's his rocket because it's dress Upcates, it's dress all day.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
No baseball managers wear the uniform. You're going to tell
Dave Roberts he's dressing up. I guess have you paid
for it? You get to do whatever you want, right
if you look like a sperm and you send the
joker into the sky.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
I mean he and Lauren have to play a little
role play after all.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Oh yeah, there's one thing to be muscli uh you know,
but it's another thing to be a musley sperm. I mean,
that's a real uh proud to be an ankle to
my seat, A lesson to lexion doors.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Let's say, and I do you know what?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
I want to know what was like? Because Lebron the
King is gonna be playing this week again. I want
to know what the other king, the King of space.
Gail King what she has to say about her first reaction?

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Are you ruining our weekend? Why are you ruining our weekend?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Let's hear from Gale.

Speaker 7 (07:35):
The best part was when we got back in our
seats after zero g's Katie sang, what a wonderful world?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
She did that nice?

Speaker 7 (07:43):
She sang, what a wonderful I see dreams? Oh, yes, yes, yes, oh.
Because we've been asking you to sing all the time
and she wouldn't and she wouldn't. And then because everybody
said sing, roar, sing fire and she said, it's not
about me. I wanted to talk about the world.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Wow, you know is that?

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Isn't that nice?

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Oh? Wow? You know? Somebody sent me a thing? And
I love Carissa, but somebody sent me a thing like
you and Matt do that all the time with your guests,
And I'm like, we don't do that. No, we do
things like we've had. There's a lot that I'm ashamed of.
We've done many things, but never that.

Speaker 8 (08:21):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Lesson three makes you own tris.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Today post flight Katie Perry reaction Lesson three.

Speaker 8 (08:33):
It is the highest high, and it is surrender to
the unknown. Trust And this whole journey is not just
about going to Space. It's the training, it's the team,
it's the whole thing. I could have recommend this experience more.

(08:55):
This is like up there with all the you know,
different meditation tool that I've learned in my life, from
meditation to the Hoffmann process. This is up there because
what you're doing is you're fine. You're like really finding
the love for yourself because you got to trust in
yourself on this journey. And then you're feeling the love
when you come down for sure, and you're feeling that strength.

(09:16):
So I feel really connected to that strong, divine feminine
right now.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
By the way, was such a badass. I loved it.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
The month of April, You're like, I'm going to Space
and I'm launching my tour.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Yeah, she's a musician. That's what they do, they go
on tour.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah. Well she did say today, you know, there's two
reports Daily Mail, GB News that she regrets the public spectacle,
that this became oh you do yeah, which is interesting
because she literally revealed her tour set list while she
was in As Gail King put it, zero.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
G's, I mean, you're talking about meditation and the Hoffman process.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
And the.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Surrender, like that's you seem quite comfortable talking about that
in public to someone who's stuck a microphone in your
face and had a camera behind her.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
She regrets the public spec she doesn't regret space because
it was life changing.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
I have a question real quick. We're hearing her talk
end about preparation for this event. I kind of played
there's more preparation on soaring over California telling you to
buckle up and put your stuff underneath the seat than
there was for this eleven minutes.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Well, you don't know that. You weren't in their training,
and you know there's been a lot of yeah, you
don't and and and you don't know. You had to
spend a lot of time with the tailor to get
into a sweet jumpsuit like that less than.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Four lexion quatro.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
You know, you hear somebody like Katie Perry obviously enlightened
and evolved more than people like us. Clearly you hear
her get pretty deep, and you're like, how much more
depth can there be? And yet there is more depth.

Speaker 9 (10:57):
I hope they can see the unity that we modeled
and replicate that and understand that we weren't just taking
up space, we were making space for the future. And
for me, like Gale said, this wasn't a ride, it
wasn't a destination. It was a journey and it was

(11:18):
a supernatural one. And my journey has all always been
about love and belonging. And I think that we have
all felt that sometimes we weren't worthy or we didn't
belong and in certain ways, no matter all the accolades,
no matter all the studying, no matter anything. And I

(11:40):
think today we all said it like we belong here.
This is where we belong, and we feel very sure that.
So I think that you'll never know the amount of
love that you have inside of you to give and
to receive until the day you launch, because you're leaving

(12:02):
all the love behind and you're surrendering, and you're hoping
that you get another chance to love them again. And
so when you come back down, you're like, oh, I
get another chance that I'm gonna Oh my god, I
know I'm crying, okay.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Right, God.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
My god.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
But you don't get to walk it back, Katie, not
after that word salad. Sorry, you don't get to walk.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Any of this.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
I regret what this has happened here.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
No, you don't, you sorry, you don't get to regret it.
You don't get to apologize. That's it, man, I would
totally recommend it.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I regret this decision like you can't regret it less
than five lex muchos regretros. Jail King's not hearing it, though.

Speaker 7 (12:51):
I wish people would do more due diligence.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
And then my question is, have you all been to space?

Speaker 9 (12:57):
Have you been in space?

Speaker 7 (12:58):
Go to space or go to origin and see what
they do and how they do and then come back
and say this is a terrible thing.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Y'all have been to space?

Speaker 3 (13:07):
No? No, no, have you been to space?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
No?

Speaker 3 (13:10):
No?

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Who's gonna answer yes to that?

Speaker 3 (13:13):
I gotta I mean, Alan Shephard, I gotta go to
the pharmacy pick up all the prescriptions for my family.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
And I just ate something that I'm hoping takes me
to space.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
But yeah, well of course, man, I mean right, mean,
if that's a requirement, Well, all right, We'll be right
back with David Vasse, another real space cadet next from
Texas Globe Life Field Scene of the crime from twenty twenty,
and then we'll have Debt in a live guy Birthday
of the Day.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
The iHeartRadio. At top of the hour. We will get
over to Dodgers on deck first pitch just after five
pm from the Gaping Motors broadcast booth, and a reminder
to enjoy the game with some Hoffey hot dog the
two packages. This is today only, uh, two packages five bucks.
That's it at your local Albertson's and Vaughn's Today only
Haffey thirteen and a half ounce b Franks, two packages,

(14:13):
five bucks. Get your dogs for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
All right, it's time to check back in with Globe
Life Stadium, the home of the Dodgers, field whatever. With
an inside look at the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
This is the vast Damiski Field.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Well, I guess that Globe Life Stadium is the old
one that was where they used to play. Now they
play at Globe Life Field where David Basse has so
much history and he joins us right now. If you
saw his Instagram, there were many, many memories of twenty

(14:53):
twenty and what the Dodgers accomplished out there. David Vasse
almost died on that trip, but he lives to tell
the tale of Dodger Championships post pandemic, and here he
is live from Texas. The original tea sip David Vase
on your Southern California Toyota neither celebrity hotline. He is

(15:14):
the greatest Dodger reporter that ever lived. Dave, how are you?

Speaker 10 (15:18):
I'm doing good. I'm on the field here in front
of the Dodgers' third base dugout as they get ready
for a big three game series against the Als leading Rangers.
Kevin Polar, old Frank Kevin Polar out of Shamanat high school,
is playing and staying home here close to Texas. So
he's on the team and a few other former Dodgers
as well. So it should be a fun series, great

(15:40):
pitching matchups, starting with tonight Jacob de Gram against Yamamotos.
So we got a great three game series here.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
The Dodgers did make some roster moves, Dave, can you
tell us what's going on and what's behind those moves?

Speaker 10 (15:53):
Yeah, guys. The big news today is that Shoey O'tani
did not travel to Arlington with the Dodgers. He is
back in Law Angeles and him and his wife are
expecting their first child, so Otani's on the paternity list.
Tommy is leading off, and Eddie Rosario, who we spotted
out here earlier today is the Dodgers DH So that's

(16:13):
the big news. And we'll see whether or not Otani
returns by the end of this series, but certainly should
rejoin the Dodgers in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Is this the first time you've been back since the
Dodgers won the World Series? There, Dave, Maybe it's not.
I don't think maybe, And I heard you were pouring
over the JFK files last night.

Speaker 10 (16:34):
Well, this is actually the second time the Dodgers will
play at Globalize Field since the twenty twenty World Series.
But you know, all those memories keep flooding back for everybody.
The Dodgers are staying at the same hotel that they
stayed at when they were in the so called bubble
during the twenty twenty playoffs, and you got Corey Seeger

(16:55):
and Jock Peterson now teammates again at Globelize Field, back
in that home clubhouse where the Dodgers took over for
almost a month on the way to the World Series.
So a lot of guys they when they look around
and when they were at the hotel, it feels like
the first time because obviously it was such a you know,

(17:15):
I don't want to say traumatizing experience, but certainly something
that you'll always remember.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Dave, just kind of going back to Wednesday, and we
know you're you're pretty close with Bobby Miller. Just kind
of your takeaway from that. We were talking about it
a little bit yesterday. Just just sort of what a
bummer it was to see the kind of the pitches
come up so short of the catcher after he gave
up the Grand Slam and kind of how that affected
him and if you had a chance to talk to
him after the game.

Speaker 10 (17:42):
Yeah, you know, what I've gathered from people that you know,
know a lot more about Bobby and the way he pitches,
is that he's got to find a way to become
more of a pitcher instead of a thrower. That kind
of affected him, and the lack of fastball command, the
lack of slider command kind of come hounded the fact
that he can only throw two pitches his fastball and curveball,

(18:04):
which made it very predictable, and that was the problem
throwing behind and counts. That's never you know, something that
you want to see. So he just has to kind
of look in the mirror and decide that he wants
to be a pitcher more than a thrower.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
A passer, not just a thrower from the cornerback position.
I've heard that before.

Speaker 10 (18:27):
The Dodgers told me he's hoping the Raiders don't draft
Ashton Gent because he thinks they'll ruin him.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Well, Jock's got a lot of break, He's got a
lot of great insight into fantasy football. We all remember.

Speaker 10 (18:42):
I did not slap.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Him the case for the Padres as well. Twelve and
one at home, three and three on the road, Dodgers
ten and two dominating at Dodger Stadium. But just five
hundred on the road. When do you start paying? I mean, look,
you win two out of three every home series and
you go five hundred on the road, and that's path
to what ninety ninety five wins. So that's fine, But
is there any concern, like, do they want to start

(19:04):
seeing better efforts on the road?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Davers? It just way too early for that.

Speaker 10 (19:09):
Well, look at their road schedule, right, Two of their
wins were in Tokyo as they were the road team
against the Cups, and then you know they've had one
real road trip before starting this one where it didn't
go so well in Philadelphia and DC. So yeah, I
think it's way too early to all of a sudden
called the Dodgers a bad road team or an average

(19:29):
road team. I think this road trip's going to say
a lot. You know, the Rangers are a very good team.
I'm curious to see if the Dodgers kind of raise
their level of focus against the Rangers, because you kind
of saw it Wayne a little bit in the last week.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Yeah, that is kind of the point, though, isn't it, Dave.
It's it's not it's early, but this is maybe a
great roster that's playing very average baseball. Yeah, they swept
the Rockies, but they didn't necessarily look great in that
series either, David, how do they get Well.

Speaker 10 (20:04):
No, you're right, And look, there's a lot of guys
on this team that were on the team in twenty twenty.
It's a great hitters ballpark. So you're hoping guys like
Muncie hit his first home run during this series and
you hope that jump starts him. But yeah, it really
has been somewhat of a malaise for the Dodger offense,
and quite honestly, the big three have done their job,

(20:27):
and Will Smith has been one of the hottest hitters
in baseball to start the year, but that five through
nine has got to pick it up. And with Freddie
Freeman back, that allows Tom Yeedman to be lower in
the batting order, which extends it. But you need you know,
it feels like Conforto has come up a lot recently
with runners on base and he hasn't delivered. So he's

(20:50):
got to get it going or at the very least
don't hit into double plays because that's been a rally
killer in the last seven or eight games.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
You mentioned Pajz Dave. I think I saw Dave Roberts
say something along the lines of one hundred and fifty
at bats. I think that's what it was. And you know,
had a nice game on Wednesday night. It wasn't just
one big swing, but a couple of singles that knocked
in a few guys. How like, is it day by
day that he's got the spotlight on him? Is it
series by series?

Speaker 9 (21:18):
Like?

Speaker 4 (21:18):
How pressing is it for Pahz to get this thing
right and maybe start hitting at least over two hundred?

Speaker 10 (21:24):
Yeah, not just hitting but getting on base. He's seeing
a lot of pitches, but his on base isn't translating,
meaning that you know, he really he might be seeing
a lot of pitches, but if it results in an out,
that really doesn't do much of anything. So the Dodgers
were so good last year when Rojas had a phenomenal
season and Gavin Lux we're hitting at the bottom of

(21:46):
the order. That helped turn the lineup over and give
Otani a lot of opportunities with runners in scoring position
to drive in one hundred and thirty runs. So that's
really important. They eate nine hitters in this world to
turn the lineup over to give o'kani a lot more
chances with runners on base. But you know, going back

(22:07):
to the sample size for Paz, the way I can
best compare it is to James Outman. Last year, the
Dodgers gave James Outman the first three months of the
season before they decided to make a change. I would
imagine that's the same kind of feeling they're giving Pahz
right now. He's got a long leash. They don't want
him to feel like if he goes over four that

(22:28):
they're going to take him out of center field. So
I believe it's similar to James Outman. He's going to
have a three month period here to be able to
prove to the Dodgers that he's their guy. And last
year Tarzan fell from the trees. We'll see what Paz does.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Hey, maybe Tarzan comes back. It has to swing back
in because pie Haz doesn't approve you think about that, Dave,
David vasse.

Speaker 10 (22:54):
Numbers at Oklahoma City. I'm not you checked.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Jock Peterson's numbers, your boy jocks hidden.

Speaker 10 (23:03):
Oh you picked up on that one. Huh yeah, that's.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
That point oh six? Oh it's batting average.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Well it's not, Jocktober.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
You're right, You're right, man, it isn't. We're far from October.
Dave Assy walking down memory Lane in Dallas, going through
the books of depository. Dave, the Dodger bullpen's getting a
lot of usage. I mean a lot. Uh. And now
I know it's supposed to be like one of the
great strong points of the team, but how long can

(23:34):
they hold up with the starters not doing what they're
supposed to be doing?

Speaker 10 (23:38):
Yeah, well, just think about it. This bullpen is not
even the bullpen the Dodgers will have, hopefully by June,
they haven't had Michael Kopek, Evan Phillips, or Bruce star
Gradero throw a single pitch so far this year. So
Jack Dryer and Ben Conspirace have been huge in that department.
I don't I don't see the Dodgers running those guys

(23:59):
out every single day out there. They're going to have
to give those rookies a arrested at some point, and
Evan Phillip should be coming back here shortly. But you're right, Petchos.
For a starting staff that was hyped up as much
as the Dodgers were, they haven't given them a lot
of length. And if you look back at the Dodgers

(24:19):
starter starting pitching, you're not going to have anybody really
throw more than one hundred and eighty innings. They're really
good at, you know, keeping the workload down, so it
just feels like the bullpen can't carry that kind of load.
But the starters, you know, more consistently than Yamamoto and
Dustin may have to give them at least six innings.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Thank you, Dave, and again the Big News show Hail
Tani out of the lineup, who knows for how long
because his wife Monico is going to give birth to
their first child. Congratulations to one of the most famous
couples in the world and great job breaking that news
by David Vassa and getting it out there. Congratulations and

(25:05):
good luck to show hey and Mamico, and we'll be
right back with your den and live Guy Birthday of
the Day on this frog Man.

Speaker 11 (25:12):
Friday, Frogman Friday.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Almost before it even starts, the Petro Said Money Show
mercifully coming to an end. The Dodgers are in Texas.
De Grom going for the Rangers, Yoshi Yamamoto for the Dodgers.
