Speaker 1 (00:04):
Now one of my childhood heroes just visited us.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh that was Eric Affolter, the All American USC receiver,
and that was really cool. He's a legend up here
in the area. Eric Affolter played with Rodney played in
those days in the late eighties. He's got those long
dreads now and he was just coming from surfing and
very nice came by with his daughter, Be Free, and

(00:30):
it was wonderful to see him. Eric Alfolter went out
dot just a quick in and out, just a quick
in and out. Eric Affolter blows with the wind free spirit.
Oh you don't know the half free spirit.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Either move or be moved.

Speaker 3 (00:48):

(01:40):
Jack Flaherty on the mound. David Vasse joined us earlier
p and said the concerns of his health nothing but
East Coast spin after the Dodgers secured his services at
the Trade death.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
If you live in the East Coast, you're concerned about
his health, and if you live on the West you
don't have as much concern. You're on the Twitter, where,
YouTube and Facebook. So we're streaming live if you want
to check us there. We're on the iHeartRadio app to
podcast later of course and all that. And we are
on M five seventy LA Sports Dodgers coming up. Tim

(02:17):
Kates will do Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck from this
very place. So I'm not a real pickle piece. What's
the matter, Matt, You made a rundown I had.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I had a listener come up in the break and
he says, hey, I'm an attorney. I work here for
six months. Uh huh, I love you guys. I had
to work up in the Bay Area. I listened to
the podcast every day in the Bay Area. Huh yes, sir,
now I'm back here.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
You didn't listen to K and BR The Sports Leader
while you were up there in the Bay Area, pat.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
No Petrosen money all day all night.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
You didn't want to hear what roxy Bernstein had to
say over there on KNBR The Sports Leader.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
And he spent six months in Asia, okay as an
attorney over there.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Well that they need a lot of lawyers out there,
a lot of money flowing.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Through You know what he said said, Bert's got no
right to come up to you and say that. He said,
Bert has got no right to come up to you
and say that. That's how you pronounce it, he said,
Japanese is a monotone language. They do not accentuate any syllables.
It is all just straightforward delivery. And for you saying too,
ja's fine, wells like that's totally fine. I got no
problem with that.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
I'm ert This whole syllabic conversation we had. It kind
of feels like it's knocked me off the rail. Well,
it feels like ruined my day. This morning you put
a comma in and then in the afternoon you took
it out. It's like somebody told you one thing and
then somebody told you're not sitting right there. We want
to please our sponsors. Well, Tim Kates has been doing
the reads for months and months. If they had a
problem with the pronunciation, we probably would have been told

(03:42):
exactly Bert, which is what you should have said to
Bert instead of bringing it up and bringing the poor
lawyer into.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Right now, I'm getting legal advice.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
All right, man, it is time for the word of
the day.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
It was worse the word of the day. There he is.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Today's word of the day is education. Hello, sir, I
did some number crunching, Matt, because nobody loves numbers more
than me.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
You love it.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Who here is a Dodger fan. We got a lot
of Dodger representation.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Baseball, as they say, is a numbers game. And as
you know, if you know me, numbers are my strength.
The Dodgers since Mookie Betts went down with injury are
twenty two and twenty. That seems bad. That's June seventeenth.
Through Wednesday's loss to the Phillies. The Dodgers are only

(04:35):
two games over five hundred. The Dodgers lead. You guys
should be panicking right now. You should be hearing this
like red Dawn when the Russians started flying from the sky.
The Dodgers' lead has dwindled down to just two and
a half games over the Padres and division. Yet there's
still seventeen games over five hundred overall. And that tells

(04:58):
you how hot the Padres have been to catch the Dodgers.
But here are some numbers for you, some seam headed
numbers for you baseball types. Will Smith Dodgers catcher. He
hit four point fifty five in March, three point thirty
seven in April. But Matt just like a cheeseburger casserole

(05:20):
on the table, oh coagulating. He's gotten progressively worse. In May,
he hit two twelve, in Junie hit two oh three July,
just over two hundred. So far in August, Will Smith
is one for seventeen. Oh no, that's a point fifty
nine batting average. Oh no, he's caught the Chris Taylors. Hello,
Chris Taylor, you ratt And here's a real nugget for you.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Did you know?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
And here's for all you arrogon Dodger fans walking around
with your Dodger hats and your chests out making fun
of Arnie Moreno and his stupid mustache.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Well, I mean they could both be separate, right.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Did you know that the last fifty six games, going
back to early June, around June third, David, the Dodgers
and Angels have got the same record.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
That's bs. They are both thirty and twenty six. That's BS.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
It's the truth. That's your education, Matt. That hurts ever
since believable early June. The Dodgers and Angels have the
same record. They are both thirty and twenty six, no rendown,
no trout, and they have the same record as show

(06:38):
O Tawny, Freddie Freeman, and the highest paid pitcher in
the history of Major League Baseball, Yoshi Yamamoto.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Is see the march. It couldn't be anything else. What
do you think of that?

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I think that's a real downer on a Friday, dude,
trying to have a good time. Hang out here, drink
some beers, librates sports in the greater Los Angeles area.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
These are our concerns, dude.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
And we got to be told the Dodgers and the
Angels are essentially the same, same jukes.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Same team since early June.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
So all the fun you want to make of the
Angels and talk about they suck and they get education
and blah blah blah and Rod Washington and blah blah blah,
the Dodgers are like the same dude, two Spider Man's
pointing at each other. Matt, That's not that's what the
Dodgers and Angels are in early June.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
That's not cool. Junio spawned the monster.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
So think about that when the Dodgers take the field
tonight against the Bucos. That's how important every game is.
Down the stretch, on them up on the pods. Can
ty seventy la sports, We got every pitch, We got
it all right.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Here, can't tag it time for the number of the days.
Number the day is one number of the day. Read
this story earlier today. I am enjoying consuming the Olympics
and all of these sports. I will watch for the
next week and a half and not watch again for
four years.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
One can of coke? How about this story? Not blowing
coke like Marcus Jordan over in France. Well he did that,
and then you had the field hockey guy got Jack
for trying to buy just one gram of coke. That's
all I wanted, Just one gram that should be Yeah,
one gram is all he wanted. And he didn't try
to buy it from a cop. He tried to buy
it from some dirty Frenchmen and a cop saw it

(08:20):
and busted him.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
How about this pee. I need to be like an Olympian.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Occasionally I will find myself in dirty water in the
morning at a river's mouth. I can see the filth
and concern myself with my bubbleguts over the next couple
hours of what I might have ingested over the hours
that I had spent in there.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
But I need to be like an Olympia. You'd think
if it bothered you, you stop.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
You would think, Uh. Here is a report that I read.
Opening line, took a walk to the Sene this morning.
The river in Paris can report it is brown. It
then added an interview they did with independent site Fluidian
did their own research and test of the water.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Fluidian is by far the best fluid side out there.
That's what they say. Yeah, they said, quote it's totally
run top to bottom by fluidians on the up and up. Quote.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
The official results significantly underestimate the real eco like count,
and the actual risk for the athletes is not being
mandaged and is ultimately unknown.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
They say, are you saying that they're just they're just
they're faking it, man, They're fudging the numbers.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
They're just winning it like Vanero.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Right.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
They're saying, there's a reason why the Sin has not
been swimmable for one hundred and one years. Since nineteen
twenty three, people have not been swimming in the sink.
So when Paris got the games, well that's why Javert
killed himself in there.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
They were like, you know what we really need.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
We need marathon swimming, we need triathlon, we need relays,
We need those events that people really watch.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
They said, in the Sin, they swam in the Thames,
why can't we swim in the te They.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Spent one and a half billion dollars on cleaning the Saint.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
It was poison and dry long before anybody came.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
They can't clean it Fluidian says it hasn't been safe
to swim in since July twenty third because of.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
The heavy rain.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
It hit the sewage and pumped the feces back into
the river.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Because of that heavy rain raining today man.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
So people are taking a queue from the kiwis and
the ause's. When they get out of the water, they
pop a can of Coca cola and they drink it,
and they say, coca is so poisonous, so acidic, it
kills everything else. That it kills everything else, that if
we put this sugary poison into our body. Yes, And

(10:42):
they're like, why are there Guys aren't getting it. They're
not booting when they get out of the water. They're
not sick and didn't have to withdraw like the Belgians. No,
the off seas and the kiwis are dominating these events.
So now everybody when they get out of the water,
you will notice chugs a can of coke because that
poison can overcome that other're poison.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Coke? Is it? Coke? Is it?

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Can't beat it, can't beat it. The feeling you get
from the classic and they say full sugar, no diet,
no zero zero won't do it.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
No they want the Mexican coke. Ins to the Mexican coke.
All right, before we get to the song of the day,
know this, we were gonna lose Jonas Knox. He was
gonna leave because he's tired. Jonas Knox, Ladies and gentlemen
from Fox Sports Radio, joke pros and a cup of
Joe thousand Oaks football player and resident, an up and

(11:34):
cover on Fox Sports Radio and often filling in on
the Rogan and Rodney Show because well Rodney not around much.
But we absolutely loved Jonas Knoxy. He just came home
from a vacations Jonas.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Oh yeah, just get off a plane. I smell where
were you Chicago doing?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
What? Well, that sounds like a great tatsus is a
great time Chicago in August one hundred percent humidity ninety
You better.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Believe it, especially with a three year old. I mean
it is just swamp at to the umpteeth degree.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
What are you doing there?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Is that family thing?

Speaker 6 (12:04):
You know?

Speaker 5 (12:05):
We just we love Chicago, loved the city. I got
family from Illinois. But we've been out to Chicago a
bunch of times.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
So go with the kid.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Yeah, did the whole touristy thing, you know, Navy all
that stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah, did that feel like you missed a lot of
sports talk? Like you missed a lot of your hot
takes over the week. I was going attention to what's
going on.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
I was gonna ask you how the mornings go? How
were they?

Speaker 1 (12:29):
I did?

Speaker 2 (12:29):
I filled in for Jonas the last hour of his
show four days in a row.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
And then he'll last you. They bullied you, you sa.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
They bullied me on Tuesday about their East Coast football bias,
and Thursday I just took the bat out of their
hand and did a bunch of Olympic poop stories, good
poop and Penis stories good And.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Don't you miss the mornings?

Speaker 1 (12:47):
I don't, No, I don't. I most definitely do not know.
We had a good time.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Though we had a good time, it seemed like Brady
and LeVar were really at an impasse over Chris Brown
and whether or not it was okay.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
To slap that girl around. Well.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
LaVar went to the Chris that girl Brianna, that Chris
Brown uh put on a concert in crypto that LeVar
went to, that's you can't do that, and Brady kept
making vague references to Chris Brown's fast and you know,
things got a little ugly there.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
But other than that, it was, Yeah, when you.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Do the mornings, you know, this social life during the
week non existent, doesn't happen. You're not going out, you're
not going to games, you're not going to concerts.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
And if you do, it's like my life anyway.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
I mean, if you do and you work with Brady Quinn,
he's gonna bust your balls relentlessly about it.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Everybody. I'm happy about the Chris Brown thing.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Brown.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
So that was it.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
But we all kind of do a show prece so
it wasn't anything. Nothing nothing in USA basketball. Nothing jumped
out to you, Jonas, nothing that you really want to
get your taken before you got to retire for the weekend.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
They'll take a ut.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Yeah, no, I mean I just completely tuned out.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Good for you.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
So I completely tuned out. And then of course I
see I didn't go on Twitter for days, and the
first thing I see on Twitter is an argument over
who would win the Dream Team or this US men's
basket like that, what you think Christ's sake?

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Who's gonna match up with Barkley? I mean, who can't know?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
I mean, you know, MP he can't take that guy
that play down there, Chris Chris Mullen.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
He is a liability out their defensive but he's got
the flat top.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
Like Larry Bird. Basically had Rigamortis for the Dream Team
and we're comparing like thirty year differences. It's like, come on,
I realized we're all we want football back. You know,
people are really panicked about the Dodgers. I get all that,
But for Christ's sake, we're doing Dream teamstitute.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
We love that we did that yesterday. You've really humiliated
we took Yeah you did. We did, and we did
Redeem Team. Who do you want Dream Team team or
the Redeem Redeem Team?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Actually, for the last.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Hour, we just played one of those documentaries let it
Go through Raw.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
Oh yeah, by the way, I just wanted to point something.
So I heard you earlier in the show say that
there was some issue that people took issue with the
way you guys handed some things out and behaved last night. Yeah,
I was here for the Christmas Ronnie Foscio showed out drunk.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
It was he drunk.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
Ronnie got littleup.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah he got gas. Nice he was gas.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
So like my thing is, don't bust their balls. They
alienated the eight oh five for ten years. Guys, you
finally got him back. You should appreciate Petrow some money.
You're back here, Yeah, Tarantula Hills, all right, and so
they give you a prize and maybe somebody swipes it
from you because you're slow in the draw. That's your problem,

(15:36):
not there, if you stop blaming.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
It, thank you. That's right. Fights around, steal everybody's taking.
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Jonas talks Parts A Pacific Times too, proudly a cup
of show.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Welcome home, Jonahs. It's great to have you here and running.
Got the song of the song of the day.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Coming up next, we will talk to Don McClain, the
BFF of the Petro san Money Show and a great
resident and representative of the eight oh five. He will
be along in just a moment. I am five seventy
LA Sports your home of the Dodgers. Dodgers on decade
six from right here at Tarantula Hill.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
That you're saying money above seventy l A switch.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
On everywhere in the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
Yeah, the night's life has returned.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
How many will be left at the end of the night.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Not at the end of the night. At the end
of the segment. How many drinks for you today?

Speaker 4 (16:46):
None.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
We are live on location Tarantula Hill Brewing Company on
thousand ohs. Halfway through, we hit.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
The halfway point, tipping a ca after Coach Ben McEnroe
he had to head up the t o for football practice.
Appreciated having him there. Him here a little bit earlier.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Uh and Pe.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
The illuminaries continue to volmar. Yeah, we got who's coming through,
Brook mcclec. Yeah, Lauren from Chef Barito. Eric Dickerson is
in the house. We got the super Power posse in
the house. And we got Morongo Casino.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
By the way, before I forget since you mentioned her
name two weeks ago, twenty fifth wedding Annibro.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Beautiful couple, beautiful family. He deserves the trophy for that. Matt,
all right, Brook, come on up, here's four pack. Yeah, no,
those are mine.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Jonas Knox was here a little earlier from Fox Sports Radio.
We were happy to talk to him. Eric Affolter, the
great wide receiver with his long dreads of freedom, came by.
It was nice to see him and joining us right
now on your Southern California Toyota Dealers Celebrity headset.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
It is the one and only Don McClain.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
The next ass he kisses will be the first that
he won't kiss yours. So I'm trying to make it
happen here at Tarantula Hill. He put the eight oh
five on the map playing for the Seami Valley Pioneers.
Is one of the greatest basketball players in the history
of Southern California and of course the leading score in
the history of UCLA. As they transition to the Big ten.

(18:22):
Works for all kinds of different people, balley sports, perhaps
a Big ten network. That's right, c AA, and he's
here with us. I am once again on the Petrosen
Money Show. No Trent but here hurs. No Trent tried
to get Blake here, but you had a test. He's
taken summer school.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
All the kids going to be by the way, and
we haven't talked about it. But I think there is
a future for me Big ten network. Of course, there
is fs one in Fox this year.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
How many look at that?

Speaker 4 (18:56):
So that's very So we crossed paths.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
We might you know over there at work, if you
see me vapor in the lot, don't you knock on me?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
The one and only Don McClain is here.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
I guess the first thing on everybody's mind is Olympic basketball?

Speaker 1 (19:10):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
And before I guess, we get into the who's who
and you know, if the dream team would beat this.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
Team, it's not even close. But go ahead.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
How different is the European game? How awkward is it
for our guys? Or is it different than it used
to be because of the influx of European players.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Well, I think that the world has caught up, There's
no doubt about that. But I don't think that's the
only thing. I think that these teams because of the
way they're brought up in the game of basketball in Europe.
They've played together since they were young, and that matters,
especially in a one and done type tournament. So I
think that's the biggest factor, is that they the familiarity
with each other and the fact that the US team

(19:52):
just gets put together and hopefully in a month they
can figure it out. The game itself is different in that,
at the core, the US game is built on superstar
players being able to make a play for themselves, being
able to get to a spot, being able to beat
their guy one on one. The European game is taught
ball movement, player movement and the beauty of the game,

(20:14):
getting it from one side to the other and guy's
making shots. And the reason Serbia almost got them yesterday
was because of that. The ball was moving and they
made open shot after open shot, and then you had
the US team coming down because everybody thinks, and rightfully,
so how good they are, Oh I can do this,
I'll just do it myself. And it wasn't working until

(20:34):
they started getting up and getting out in transition and
getting easier buckets. Was when they closed the gap and
eventually won the game. But it's much different because of
the way it's taught from a young age.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
You know, how we regularly, you know, frame the chop
it up Lebron James as a Laker exactly how disappointing
it's been for us. But there was something special yesterday.
Don Maybe it's because I'm an old man, but all
these young dudes, these twenty five year old Jason Tatum
and Tyrese Haliburton, as wonderful and as great a players

(21:08):
as they might be. Something special about Steve Kerr going
to the old Dogs, to Steph Curry, to Kevin Durant,
to Lebron in that final ten minutes and saying, go
win this damn tournament. And remember it's what Kobe did
when Lebron and Dwyane Wade and all them were young,
and they were like, Kobe, go win the damn gold medal.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
And he did.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
But why why would Lebron and Steph and KD and
those guys care so much about winning that game and
finishing finishing it or try and get back in the
game and win it. Legacy, right, I guarantee you Lebron
James the entire fourth quarter were saying, I cannot lose
this effing game because of what it's gonna do to
my legacy. And so they figured out a way. And

(21:48):
I've said this from day one, like, it's great that
Kad has accepted this role of like coming off the
bench and as great as he is, Yeah, that's great
that you've accepted that, But why are you coming off
the bench? R Like you should be playing the whole game.
And it became clear in the fourth quarter yesterday that
Katie should have been playing more, should be playing more.
And we'll see what happens tomorrow. But like when you're

(22:09):
struggling to score the first guy I'm putting in the
game is Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Yeah, it's I thought it was also.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
And again it's like you said, it's a different game,
that the international game is different. It's FOBA rules and
it's weird. But I've always kind of contended that the
Steph Curry versus Lebron best player of their era is
a lot closer than people make it out to be,
especially concidering how Steph Curry changed the game of basketball

(22:35):
and how it is played and how kids play it
in generations that will come after him, and how they
will play it.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
And I thought that was it.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Was an interesting sort of context yesterday that they were
both doing their own thing and so differently.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Yeah, they're so different, That's what I was going to say.
And it's like Steph's changed the game in terms of,
you know, smaller players thinking that they can reach that
level and that they can stretch their range out to
thirty two feet and make threes. So from that that regard,
Steph has changed the game more than Lebron has. But
I don't think you can sit here and say that
Steph Curry is better than Lebron James or is accomplished

(23:08):
as much as Lebron James. But the thing I appreciate
about Lebron, and I know you guys like to give
him the business, give him the business on the show.
You have to appreciate his leadership on this team because
I do think if they didn't have his playmaking, his
ability to get guys shots throughout the tournament, especially yesterday,
they weren't going to win this thing. And and so

(23:29):
his unselfishness in his basketball IQ and his ability to
make the right play, make the right pass is a
big reason why they won yesterday and it'll be a
big reason why they win tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Speaking of basketball IQ, Don McClain has helped us for
over a decade and a half to understand whether or
not it's pumped or stuff in the world of high school,
college and pro basketball and how the draft and all
these different things work.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
It feels like the whole JJ.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Reddick story and the Lakers offseason kind of cooled down.
They let him build a staff and all that. Do
you think it'll fire up again and everybody will get
excited again when they go to camp and Bronnie's gonna
be running around or do you think all the hot
take types like Matt and I have had their way
with it.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
I think JJ is going to be a story throughout
the first half of the season, and we'll see how
the Lakers start. I think the Bronny thing will die
down a little bit because he's not going to be
on the big club all that much, so I think
kind of out of side, out of mind a little bit.
Obviously he's Bronnie James, so they'll be a little bit,
but not as much as there was around the draft.
But because he'll be playing for the G League team mostly,

(24:41):
I think that story will die down a bit.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Don't you even go to the brilliant Well, I don't know.
That's my math. I mean, I don't sign out of mind.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
I think we were trying to soften up because we
think we have Geni Buss showing up in our last event,
so we got to be like, you know something about
that there, Genie, we didn't meet all that stuff we
said about you say you lost control of your team
and everybody hates everybody.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Sorry about that got agibitory that she still shows up here.
She's the best. I don't know, Yeah, she's the best.
She's not gonna show up here. She came here last year.
She was here last year. Coming to Vans in a
couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah, so we will have a Genie buss, But I
don't really know. Did you go to the Into a
Dome opening with Bruno Bars? Do you have tickets to
see Bruno Mars?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Are you not? Are you excited about that?

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Did you excited about it? Because I do think it's
been pretty cool. Well, you know, I've been doing the
Clippers shows for a long time and we've been at
Staples Center or Crypto or whatever.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
It is now since before it was outdated, right, I
mean you were at Staple Center back when Staple Center used.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
To I was at Staples Center when our studio was
in Staples with the windows. Oh we got that sweet
jellttle it's like a shoe store or whatever.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
See Carolyn Hughes and vanner A Wright sitting right there
something or John I saw.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
More when I used to park behind the pallm and
I'd see him at the bar at.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
The Pallmy wow, it was great to watch. It was
great to watch them all sit down at the pom
because as their asses hit the seat, the drinks mat.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, it was it was like it was almost like
a timy thing air traffic control. Just a beautiful moment.
But you are excited about the.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
New Billiam, I I'm excited to see it. Hopefully i'll
see it before the season starts. But I just think
the Clippers having their own building, control of their schedule now,
which there was so much talk about that the twelve
thirty games and in the scheduling not being conducive for them,
So now they can control that. So I think I
think it's there's a lot of positives in that. And

(26:35):
obviously anytime you open a brand new building, it's like
the thing, it's the best. I remember in ninety two
when the Phoenix Suns opened the America West. Remember that
America West Arena. It was a big deal because they
had a practice court in the arena. It's like now
it's like, of course, we have five practice courts in
the arena.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
I remember that it was a weird practice court with
like three rows of men.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
So you go down this deal because they had a
practice court in there.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
And now Russell Westbrook's getting in fight with a guy
eating a steak of exactly right.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
The going back to the Olympics real quick, what do
you make of those twin Towers.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
You don't think the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
That the Team USA is gonna have any issues with
the Gobertyama.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
If go Beart plays, I mean he has been playing.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
A five minutes half, huh.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
He just it's different the international game, and when you
have when you have Wemby, you kind of don't need Gobert,
right And I was asked earlier, I think by Don Martin, Actually,
hey about I'd love to ask you about Gobert uh
wen bin Yama. If he stays healthy, there's enough of
a sample size now last year's regular season in the Olympics.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
If he stays healthy, you're gonna say it, aren't you.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
He'll be the greatest player in the history of the NBA.
That for sure. It is fun watching it. It's not
even not even going to be close. Like Giannis is
a freak, and Giannis is going to be one of
the all time greats before it's all said and done,
Wemby will be better than him, for sure.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
So no problem with Team France for Team USA, even
though they had their issues with Jokich and with Team Servia.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
The environment tomorrow could be a bit of an issue.
I think those fans are going to be crazy. I
don't think it's going to be a twenty point game,
but I don't think it's going to be like yesterday's
game either.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Let me ask you this because I was thinking about
it when Kobe kind of had his Olympic moment. He
wasn't you know, the Lakers were no longer really competitive.
They were passed the championship window. I think it was twelve,
it was twelve, and so like that was his right.
Do we think that Lebron looks at the Lakers the
same way, like, Hey, it's not gonna happen here, that's why.

(28:40):
And now I'm going to get out to the Olympics
and this is my this is my moment, Like I've
got to make this happen because it's not happening with
the Lakers. I can read the riding on the wall
because that's kind of what it was with Kobe and
it became more of an individual run toward the end
of his career, but the Olympics was his time to
win the champions.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
The way forty right, And so I think that's possible,
Matt and he probably is thinking that way because I
think the Lakers will be better this year. But I
don't think you call them a contender. I think yeah,
they'll they'll be a playoff team obviously, But I don't
think you're saying, oh, if if everything goes right, they
can win the whole thing. I don't think that. So
you're probably right Matt and saying that.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
The great Don McClain, ladies and gentlemen, him and Prop
have a hole ta.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
Have a big contingent of friends with bro five crew.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
All. Yeah, we brought a group.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Good looking. It could be like the Real Housewives.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
The Guards, the gar Locks over there in the back
on that table. The guar Locks are big David Vass fans.
That right, Yeah, been.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Huge, was fired up like a chili pepper yesterday. Yeah,
on the air, we love your Don, the best of
the best. There is nobody like you. Might have another
couple of drinks and I can start drinking you hang out.

Thousand Oaks, right off the one oh one in More

(30:57):
nights stay at an MGM resort property and the Westinghouse

Speaker 6 (31:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Oh look at that? How you like that? Wheese? Huh

Pitch between Jack Flaherty and the Dodgers and the Pirates

an inspiring, fiery speech from David Vass to individual Dodger

Has everybody signed up.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Lauren from Chef Marito is adorable. You should try weekly
a weekly cooking segment with her, kind of like the
grilling segment you used to do with the Armenian guy
from Glendale.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
You know, the marine. He was a marine.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
He was from Glendale. Was he a dynamiter? He was
Hoover High. He was Hoover High. He booked a gig
for us out in Upland when it was one hundred
and fifteen out in the middle of an asphalt parking lot.
As we brought tight in front of open flamed kettle barbecue.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
I think part of the problem is that Lauren from
Chef Marito has gone over a cooking show with the
Petrosen Money Show, and she's just.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Working with Dodgers. Yeah, she's got Joe Kelly and that
kind of bothers us.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Absolutely, damn Pete dropping the Angel's hammer on the blue
let hurt eat it money.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
But it's true one of my eatings. It's what he's
just rolling on.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Well, Matt, you are a big proponent of the Dodger
baseball night in and night out in the month of August.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
I am this says Matt's right, you Debbie downer.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
It's Friday, and I'm off working my garage, smoking my
Friday Jay, drinking my Friday beer, trying to lean into
the weekend. Matt, thanks for calling p out. Well, look,
you got to bring me down. It's Friday. I'm just
telling you, you know, while everybody's just messing around and
doing a mutual masturbation of Dodger hack.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Roulette, do the mess around.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
The Dodgers have the same record as the Angel since
early June.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
They're in a divisional race.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Despite being seventeen games over five hundred and they didn't
show the fire and the anger when they were challenged
by a team that has a lot of edge, the
Philadelphia Phillies, who now have a better record than the
Dodgers in the season series over the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
It was a bad weekend and a bad week.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Yeah, but it was that umpire's fault. You heard what
they said after the game. Guy blew that call. And
if he doesn't blow that call, Kyle Schwarber doesn't blast
those three home runs out out of Dodger Stadium, you
know how that works? A series of unfortunate events.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Tell Matt to live stream on the breaks giving away
the prizes. It sounds very interesting on the Petrosen money stream.
I don't understand. Don't we run like we run like
features and stuff during the breaks.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
It's like Vic the Brick doing his Haiku, Tim Kats
interviewing people. George Lee eaton waffle fries, like, we got
all kinds of stuff on the I don't know, you know,
it's just an idea we put out there, you know, like, Hey,
I'm gonna dip this in this garlic aobi right at
three o'clock.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
This thing really went from zero to sixty a lot
of people showed up and they're all eight h five types, right,
and it really is. It's like a Bruce Springsteen concert
in here. It's all white arms.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
It is.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
And we'll be back that dude, by the way, except
for you, mister mustache. I think I found the whitest
guy here. Look at our guy here, he's got Nike shirt.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
The guy in the green or the guy behind him.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
Green Nike shirt, tucked into shorts, croakies around his sunglasses.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
He looks like he's a long distance running coach.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
That's time.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
He's in really good shape this year.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
All our times have improved this year on the cross
country team, we're getting better and better.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Prs, prs all around, all around. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
Everybody will be right back hydrated.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
One of the greatest running backs in the history of football,
if the greatest. Oh yeah, talk about the Rams, talk
about the return of football and the sorry ass kickoff.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
