Speaker 1 (00:26):
Petro Sin Money, Trosin Money, Rosin Money Roast.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Whoa oh stop the shout stop stop. We got a
pursuit on k cow No, no kill it. Don are
you watching? You just see that? Crazy Yeah, expedition off
road move and.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
I'm two for two the last two times I've been here,
We've had a car chase.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Oh, people are pissed off. The heat waves over, but
it's still running hot in the city to see you,
DoD they just got to the I five North. They
were on the I five South. They're at all the
gate A cities.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
So that was a crazy movie pulled.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Especially is it a chick or is it a dude?
I saw some long blonde hair, but maybe it's the
shoulders of the of a jacket. Hit and run suspect
to say, definitely headed towards downtown.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Now, innocent drivers.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Out there, just I'll turn it up. What do we
got here?

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Afternoon?

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Getting to where they going pretty fast too.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Now we have a college football whip around and if
I don't do, people get really bad. And we're only
on till three as well, so I don't know how
long we can hang on to this.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Don I know?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
You talk about the Pac twelve and how happy we
are that Washington State and Oregon State aren't left out
of the poles.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, we haven't. Well, hopefully this ends soon. But the
last one we had was like a half an hour.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, and the guy trying to just play it off
like he didn't know anybody's phone. That was a d UI.
This is a hit and run. And you can see
on the side of that white Ford expedition there's a
big Dante.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah, he definitely hit somebody.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I don't know what they hit and they were up
like above one ten early when we were watching during
the commercial blade. It's something we love to report on.
We like is that ste case It is Stu Mandall
in the in the sky Sky eleven that nobody is
sky Fox California.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Doesn't look like the front left tires flat.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It's won so many times a lot of the law
enforcement front left policies.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I said that last time too, and.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
You did yeah something else. It's the matter with you, Donnie.
I don't know the California. I patrolled the state.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
My eye for tire pressure isn't isn't great.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I thought there was a point where they got him
on the Spike strip, but I don't know where. I mean,
they're on a freeways made its way all the way.
They got off and did the crazy off road move.
That was a wild ass move on the northbound. But
HP is on. This guy's called all pretty hard the city.
If you know somebody that might be driving out here,
I know it might be dangerous to call them, or
should we call a friend? We know anybody on the five?

(02:53):
Anybody insurance?

Speaker 1 (02:56):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
There might be a chase coming up. Just give them
heads up. But a lot of these folks.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
It's gonna start getting really crowded by the East LA
interchange up here.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Step by the San Antonio Winery. There in the Hospital five.
When we all come together, that's a great hospital for
gunshot wounds through I'm supposed to be the best in
the world.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Let's take you back to a moment we saw just
a couple of minutes. This is that ginger chance in
that white expedition going off road getting off.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
The I want to see a replay of that offer.
There we go right back onto.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
The freeway, leading HP officers to go off road as
well following this vehicle.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
This will not be this this person's first car chase.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
No, it seems like this person is ready to rock
and roll quite some.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Time driving as you see right there, going off road
after getting off their freeway there and then getting back on.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
All right, I'll be monitoring this in terms of pull
it down, pull it down. If something happens, I'll freak out,
or you guys will start screaming. I think out a
little behind you with my Cox cable. But uh don
yesterday the big news came out, John canzon O came on.
We'll address it a little bit in the PAC twelve whip.
But a few Mountain West teams come over, the most

(04:08):
desirable ones, maybe UNLV or something still to come. Yeah,
but you worked at the PAC twelve network since its inception, You,
like me, felt horrible for what was happening. To the
programs in Pullman and Corvallis, and it feels like they're
not sitting on their money like a Greek immigrant would

(04:29):
just hide it in a mattress. They're spending it and
they're making things happen.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, in not only for the two schools Pee, but
I think there's a lot of people I worked with
for years that decided to stay on in try and
make something of this, you know, and they had two
years to do it. I'm not sure a lot of
people thought that they could pull anything off, but they
had those two years and you know, about a year in,

(04:53):
I guess not even a year in, they get these
four schools and now.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
And you warned us about that, you said they were making.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, and I think it's safe to say that the
PAC twelve is going to be around now for much
longer than two more years. So I'm happy for all
those people that stuck it out, that decided to stay
and try and make something of this. And it's not
just Oregon State, Washington State. It's people at the conference
level that that facility in San Ramon that was built

(05:21):
before that, before all the teams let all the schools left,
the PAC twelve is still up and running, and I
think that was a big part of alluring these four
Mountain West schools to the PAC twelve. And so I'm
just happy for all those involved that that. I don't
want to say it was a long shot pe but
it wasn't something where you're like, oh, yeah, they'll be

(05:41):
able to put this back together, no problem. And I'm
just happy that it looks like they're going to be
able to do it. And I think there's more news
to come. Obviously, Remember you have to have eight schools
to have a conference. They only have six right now.
But I can't believe that the four Mountain West schools
wouldn't come if they didn't know. There's a very very
good chance that other schools will be coming as well.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Well, yeah, you got Vegas floating around out there. Interesting.
John Wilner brought up in Memphis and Tulane, which was
of course we're all thinking about cal and Stanford and
what happens if the ACC explodes and it goes from there.
But yeah, hats off to those people basically trying to
recreate society after Larry Scott blew it up like a

(06:28):
Planet of the Ape style, and it really does feel
that way.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
I mean, it's gonna be different. Obviously, there'll be different
schools in the PAC twelve, but it's still gonna be
the PAC twelve, the PAC twelve brand, the PAC twelve name.
And I don't think look, Pee, you know more than
I do about this because football drives all this stuff.
But this isn't even close to being over for all
this stuff. But like what happens in the Mountain West, now.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Well there's gonna be well, they're gonna poach the AAC
if they can get a better deal. They got blindsided here.
But I think what's most important is there's going to
be a big attraction to what that conference has to offer,
the time slots that conference has to offer, and Fox
is going to be all over it, and and and

(07:13):
Fox is a big part of making the Big ten
eighteen teams. So once you get into their vortex, your
chance for survival is a lot better. So I think
it's a great thing. Like you said, now, this guy's
off the freeway on Washington Boulevard.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
Viewers, he's going fast.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Too, yeah, fast on the side street.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
He doesn't see any cops anywhere, so he thinks he
got him fifty hour that.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
Big heavy suv into the small.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Neighbor, big heavy suv, big Ralph Sampson picking on little
Danny Ames.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
And that's a heavy vehicle.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Al Right, Katie, Let's do the song of the day.
Let's do the song of the day, and just we
gotta move on. We don't have the time. I gotta
do the college football whip. You gotta do Dead and Alive.
We've got to yeah, all right. Song of the Day
is Scooter Blues by Stergil Simpson. He's going to be
performing at the Greek tomorrow. Oh very nice.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I like Sturgel Simpson.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
You got a lot of style. Don not really, but
kind of like.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I like his music.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
You're kind of like the Dwight Yoakum of college basketball.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
I appreciate that. Pee. You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
The chase continues, but you don't have to chase UCLA tickets.
Not if you're Collar five. You're going to see UCLA
versus IU and UCLA's Big Ten Conference debut eight six
six nine eight seven two five seventy. Enjoy the game,
Thank you, Katie. Fabulous Song of the Day approved by

(08:51):
Don McClain. And the chase continues. But we are going
to Detach. We are going to detach. Welcome back. It's
a frog Man Friday on the Petro sand Money Show
Live Everywhere Man. iHeartRadio, apps, Dream the show, There podcast

(09:15):
the show. Follow us on social media. Don McLain is
here a little early for down to be doing great
sports talk, but he's always great sports talk.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Getting ready for basketball just right around the corner. Media
days are in a couple of weeks. Yeah, opening night
November fourth for college basketball.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
A lot of people don't know that. To get ready
for basketball, Don McClain dribbles of basketball everywhere He goes
yes and breaks people down and like you know, just
the nutmeg on people who dribbles it between their.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Legs, especially at the supermarket. That's where I do the best. Yeah,
people coming around the corner, I spin move right around him.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
People are at the area want you know, they're used
to it. Time for the College Football Whip third week.
College football season is Upontust gone, Yes, and I appreciate
the uplifting PAC twelve details from our guest yesterday, John Canzano.
We talked about it earlier. I'm happy the PAC twelve

(10:18):
is restalking and getting ready to relaunch. ME two twenty
twenty six. It means Oregon State and Wazoo can get
back on track, and it feels good to welcome Boise, Fresno,
San Diego State in Colorado State. My two overwhelming takeaways
from the demise of the PAC twelve remain number one,
the absolute mismanagement and destruction of the conference's assets and

(10:39):
brands not your fault, though, and to the lack of
leadership and vision from the former commissioner Larry Scott that created.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
The entire mass to where it started.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
At least we have positive news and some hope moving fault.
The Week one picks were bad one and four don
oh no, oh, yeah, I know. I rebounded though, four
and two. Last week rebound four and two. Last week
rebound with two hands pe not one, that's right, five
and six. Overall, I was very Rodmanesque in my time.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Here are my Week three selections. Arizona Tonight two and
zero at number fourteen. Kansas State, Oh, good game. Kansas
State's is seven and a half point favorite five o'clock
on Big Fox. Have you ever been to the Little Apple?

Speaker 3 (11:33):
I have not. I've never been to Manhattan, Kansas.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I've been a Little Apple like four times. Man, the
Arizona Cats, I've been there too. You've been to Tucson
and fifty times. They backed up their opening sixty one
to thirty nine thumping of New Mexico with a two
close for comfort win over Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. Yeah, the

(11:56):
Jacks count me out as one of the well, count
me in as one of the mildly shocked by that
Week two results even more interesting. Zona's star receiver TETAROA.
McMillan had ten catches for three hundred and four yards
and four touchdowns in the opening Yeah. Well, obviously, record

(12:18):
many just had two catches for eleven and against the Lumberjacks.
So this game is at five o'clock tonight, and I'm
pretty sure Zona coach Brent Brennan intentionally spread the ball
around more last week. Take a little pressure off the
servite guys, t mac and quarterback Noah Fafita. Kansas State
pulled off a big win at Tulane last week. The

(12:39):
Green Wave led twenty to ten and half twenty seven
to twenty in the fourth quarter, but the Purple clad
Wildcats won on a sixty yard fumble return touchdown. Arizona
Wildcats defense will have to keep an eye on elite
running quarterback and it's not even close. He's the fastest
guy on the team. Six to five white guy. What
Avery Johnson from Wichita. I did his game last year

(13:03):
and they told me he didn't you know, because the
guy that ended up at Ohio State, Will Howard was
the starter. And they said, we're going to play this freshman.
I said, what does he do? They said he runs?
They said, what's its deal? They said, he's the fastest
guy on the team and it's not even close. And
then he went and had like five touchdowns against Texas Tech.
Game changing athleticism. I'm going to bear down to the

(13:24):
Zona zones, though, and take seven and a half? What
number six Alabama at Wisconsin. The Tim Kates Compass Media
game Bama sixteen and a half point favorites, Big Noon
on Fox. Kates has got Big Noon on Radio.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Sixteen and a half on the Roads whoa.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Kaylin de Bores got two wins under his belt. Obama
now has to play in one of the most rowdy
environments in the country. Great opportunity for the Badgers and
Luke Fickle's second season to send a message to the
rest of America, and that message is we could to
our competition because we got nothing to lose. Everybody in

(14:06):
Tuscaloosa is expecting de Boor to work wonders with quarterback
Jalen Milroe, who has run hot and cold in the
two previous seasons. Let a naysay or no, remember his
T shirt? There done? Yeah, so far the reviews are incomplete.
Mil Rose led Bama to blow out victories over Western Kentucky.

(14:28):
He had a little trouble in South Florida, but I
expect Milroe to play a competitive game all four quarters
in Madison. People don't realize that Caylen de Boor had
Pennix before Washington and Indiana, so they had a relationship.
It's not like he just developed him in one year.
So after starting at Miami for three years. The Wisconsin

(14:50):
quarterback Tyler Van Dyke has had a slow start at Wisconsin,
but Fickle is not asking Van Dyke to throw it
thirty five times a game like at Miami. The Wisconsin
formula is still that run the ball, eat cheese twenty
to twenty five times a.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Game, eat cheese while they're running.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Well, you're out there, you see what they do in
the basketball game, they bring the cheese out of the foil.
Even during the twenty second timeout. They run a version
of the air raid, though, which is weird.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Petros.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Yeah, but they still want to run the ball.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Don't act like you did all this prep for your
game this weekend, Tim, Yeah you did.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
They're gonna run the ball, dude, Trust me, they don't
want They don't want to run their air raid. I'll
be calling Texas. You want to talk about air raid, Tim,
Texas Tech North Texas on FS one.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Is it true in football like it is in basketball? Pee,
If you have the lesser team, you want lesser possessions.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Correct, might want to take the air out of the football. Yeah,
if you're worried about them tiring out your defense and
the wave of giant Alabama, well, the wave of giant
Alabama offensive line constantly leaning on you, giant quarterback kicking
your nuts while you try to tackle him. You want
to limit that. You want to limit that.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Do you have the more talented team, you want more
possessions in the game?

Speaker 2 (16:10):
That's right? What Oregon at Oregon State two and oh?
At two and oh, the Ducks are sixteen and a
half point Favorites twelve thirty on Big Fox Pacific Northwestern News.
Both longtime rivalries Tomorrow Oregon Oregon State series began in
eighteen ninety four. In nineteen twenty nine, the Civil War

(16:32):
nickname surfaced.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
We can't call it that anymore, Pierre. They lifted, they
went back.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, good, because it was stupid.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
That was stupid. Yep, he'd guess what I did. I
still called it the Civil War.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah you did, Dawn. Yeah. The Ducks and Beefs has
played one hundred and twenty seven times over one hundred
and thirty years. The ones they missed were during World
War Two. Oregon State coach Trent Bray played in this
game four times. He's been an assistant coach in the
rivalry nine times. His Beavers have the extra motivation because
they were abandoned by their big brothers in Eugene. You

(17:04):
know all about that, don Yep, the Beaves are pissed
and the emotion will be evident in this game. The
analytics spreadsheet won't show it. There is no metric or
algorithm for it. What is on the spreadsheet is Oregon's
clumsy two and oh start. Their old line can't run,
block and the new quarterback, Dylan Gabriel's taken a lot

(17:25):
of pressure done.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Did Reeser reopen this year or last year the remodel?
I last year, last year. Yeah, it looks great.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Johnny Knts told us yesterday that the Duck shuffled the
O line a little bit in the second half versus Boise.
They might have restored some order. But from what I've
seen from the Ducks so far, I take the angry
Beaves plus sixteen and a half at Adsen three hunderdogs
so far Whack Whack, apple Cock w Washington State Washington
two and oh two and oh Husky's four and a

(17:58):
half point favorites on Peacock Ah, Civil War and the
Apple Cup being played head to head. That sucks. Yeah,
it does. Sounds like something the Pac twelve would do
under Larry Scott's nineteen hundred was the first year Washington
at Wazoo played football. The rivalry took on the Apple
Cup Moniker in nineteen sixty three. This will be the

(18:19):
one hundred and sixteenth meeting. Huskies have won nine of
the last ten. I called the last one that Washington
State won playing off the Civil War theme, I think
Jake Dickarts Cougars are more pissed about being abandoned than
Oregon State is. Coug's got a great performance from their
quarterback Johnny Mattier last week against Texas Tech. A tier

(18:43):
is not the most polished thrower, but he ran for
one hundred and ninety seven yards. Whoa. Yeah, He's going
to have to be more accurate against the Dogs defense,
which has allowed four field goals and zero touchdowns through
two games so far. Mississippi State transfer Will Rodgers has
been an efficient passer for Jed the Fish so far,
and Washington's overall talent advantage is evident in this game.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
We'll try it. I forgot the Arizona coach is a
Washington coach now.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah, Jed the Fish. Yeah, the Cougars have the immeasurable
piss and vinegar advantage of this game. I'm taking the
four and a half points in the coops.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Where's the game at Pullman?

Speaker 2 (19:20):
No, it's in lumen Field. You know that's the Seattle Seahawks.
Oh yeah, the house that Pete Carroll built. Neutral Site correct,
Civil War and Apple Cup no longer guaranteed matchups, but
I'm glad all four schools shifted things around to keep
the traditions going for now, all right, don Colorado Colorado State.

(19:41):
Last year the Rocky Mountain Review was a wild ass game,
and Boulder at the Buffs pulled out in doubt over
the Rams. But that game was also when the music
died for Dion and Colorado. The Buffs are just one
in eight versus FBS competition. Since that night, Colorado got

(20:02):
pummeled and it controlled the entire second half at Nebraska.
Last week in the opener, Colorado State got blasted at Texas,
and that can't be ignored. Even the Rams will be
at a clear disadvantage in the overall talent in this game.
Fort Collins will be lit up though, and the Rams
fans and the players I presume too will be getting

(20:25):
after Shador Sanders. All while the Buffs have elite receivers
Travis Hunter. Of course, the Rams have a lean and
mean six foot three Torry Horton who can do almost
everything Hunter can do. And I had a text exchange
this week with Jay Norvel that puts me over the top.
I'm taking the Rams plus seven and a half to

(20:47):
keep this game close. I'm not sure if they'll win
straight up and I hope they do. And I like
the point for one more Indiana at UCLA. Hoo's your's
second trip to Pasadena to play football nineteen sixty seven,
the Hoosiers represented the Big Ten in nineteen sixty eight

(21:07):
Rose Bowls, IU lost to the Trojans fourteen to three.
Unbeknownst to me, Don, the Hoosiers also made two other
trips to LA to play football. Fifty three, they lost
to USC in the Coliseum twenty seven to fourteen, and
in eighty two they lost twenty eight to seven. Now
a few generations later, IU faithful are back in SoCal

(21:29):
and favored to win a game.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
Here are they shavered?

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Yeah, and I'll tell you UCLA was awful in the
first half against Hawaii, but they played better and more
composed than the second half to secure a late victory.
They hope those jitters are out and they played better
ball in their Big Ten opener. But Kirk Signetti, the
coach at I use a junkyard dog. He brought in
a grip of transfers, lots of them from his old

(21:52):
job at James Madison University. His quarterback as a sixty
year guy who started three years for the Ohio Bobcats
and Mac among his top three rushers, top three receivers,
five of them or fourth year guys or older they
transferred in during springball. They've got two blowout wins so far.
I'm taking the Hoosiers minus three and a half points

(22:13):
in Pasadena tomorrow, and then UCLA travels to LSU a
week from now. Oh, now you want one more? Yep?
San Diego State at California one in one at two
and zero, the Bears nineteen and a half point favorites.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Could this be a conference game in two years.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Yes, depending on what happens in the ACC. The rise
of the cow Bears puts a smile on my face.
Many listeners might not know that I signed with Cal
out of high school and I lasted a little bit
over two months in Berkeley.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
I don't know why that's.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Funny, but some say I hitch hike home. But recollections
may vary. I've also been fond of the Bears last
week's win at Auburn, the angry defense of Justin Wilcox,
the efficient and creative play of Fernando Mendoza, the young quarterback.
San Diego State heads to Berkeley after taking it on

(23:12):
the chin to Oregon State at home, the Beams racked
up over forty one minutes in time of possession and
the Aztecs were two of twelve on third downs with
their new passing offense. San Diego State's biggest weapon is
their punter, Tyler Pastula, who averaged forty eight yards on
seven parts taking the Bears minus nineteen and a.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Half nineteen and a half.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
I've got North Texas Texas Tech, which we like to
call Little Noon because it's on at nine up against
Big Noon on FS.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
One's Burly Tip.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah you know, let me tell you about Shakey's Pizza
though all these games. You order Shakey's right now at
Shakey's dot Com, and that chicken and going to arrive
before you watch Kansas State Arizona, and most importantly, before
you watch the Dodgers taking on the Atlanta Braves tonight

(24:09):
in Atlanta. Hell, you might have that pizza don and
order another one and have the other one show up
if there's a rain, delight, and that's your college football
with her, Thanks a lot, everybody will be back with
more great sports talk. Tom McClain's got to riveting a
Live guy Birthday the day coming up. Hey everybody, what's cracking?

(24:36):
And welcome back to Petros and Money show mercifully coming
to an end very early because we got Dodgers Action Show,
a Otani and the Dodgers this afternoon. Dodgers at Braves.
All right down before we go and get to the
Zenshi Sushi. Pregame your dead guy Birthday of the Day

(24:59):
celebrate They did Sunday, but we'll do it today because
it's for a friend. American musician and singer Benjamin orr
oh bass player co lead singer of the Cars Valley
Forge High, Panama, Ohio or Parma, Ohio. Excuse me, family
supported his musical endeavors. He could play the guitar, the bass,
the keyboard, the drums. Is Around that time that Or

(25:22):
met another young musician knocking around Cleveland named Rick o'kasy
and they formed or Ocassick. As they say, they formed
a musical partnership. They moved to Columbus, Go buck Eyes,
performed around Ohio state, and they ended up getting to Boston.
In the seventies, they met a keyboard guy, Greg Hawks,

(25:44):
and they formed a band called Cap and Swing with
guitarist Elliott Easton, who I think lives a Valley Village
or something. Cap and Swing would play the college scene
in Boston, and they dissolved in nineteen seventy six, but
or an Ocassick didn't quit. They tried again with the

(26:04):
same two dudes, Hawks and Easton, but this time they
added a drummer, David Robinson, not the Admiral. The big
break occurred when they sent a demo to the Boston
radio station WBCN and w COZ in early seventy seven.
O'cassicks composition featuring or on lead vocals not the weird
