Speaker 2 (01:10):
The call me use Petrosen Money AM five to seventy
LA Sports Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. We got
Dodger baseball again tonight. The four game series has concluded.
Dodgers knockoff the Padres. Three of the four lose Last
Night Nationals in town for the weekend. Tonight's seven to
ten first pitch from the Galpin Motors Broadcast Booth Dodgers
on dec At six, And of course remember shohe O

(01:33):
Tani will be pitching on Sunday. That is a one
ten pm first pitch right here on your home of
the World Series Champion Dodgers AM five seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Kikini Ki Ki. It's five o'clock on a Friday, and
you know what that means.

Speaker 8 (01:46):
Here on the Petrosen Money Show, the Surfside Happy Hour, smooth,
refreshing and just one hundred calories and zero bubbles surside
I see in vodka and surfside lemonade in vodka. Today
is the first official day of summer. Started off right
with a cool and refreshing so it's time. It is

(02:07):
time for the final hour.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Fun fact, it's fun in effects. Yeah, we're three fun fact.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Well, it is Friday, and we remember the days when
our office would be populated with hundreds of people.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Chicken Foot.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Chicken Foot would play on casual Friday.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
People. Guy that has to play.

Speaker 8 (02:27):
It's like a middle aged guy used to play chicken
foot and wear his button down and wear his jeans.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
He'd wear jeans. It was casual Friday. And while casual Friday.

Speaker 8 (02:36):
Reminded me like the old man in everybody's neighborhood, the
jobs in khakis and a button down plannel.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Guy, his power walking in his rock ports and his
khakis and his button down. Yes, that was our man,
Dave Burns, and God bless him. I believe as a
matter of fact, he's moved to Hawaii and works.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Over there, the celebrating there.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Aloha Friday was the origination of casual Friday as it's
spread to California, but ultimately it caught on in the
business world in the mid nineties thanks to a gorilla
marketing campaign from of all people and of all the
things that you would mention, p Dockers. It was a

(03:18):
huge push for Levi's new khaki brand, Dockers to be
responsible ware for the business person, and they pushed the
idea of a casual Friday and it caught on nationally
right around nineteen ninety four. Well, I mean, I'd rather
wear a three piece suit with a cumber bun and

(03:38):
a vest and a top hat than a pair of Dockers.

Speaker 8 (03:41):
Well, that says, Hey, I want to have a good
time and I'm willing to let my hair down and
drink one of these Michelo vultris than having a pair
of Dockers on time for quick hits.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Com pms quick hits. Come make it quick, y'all.

Speaker 8 (04:00):
Yeah, the Dodgers are done fighting with the Podres.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Now Mike Shilt is barking at Dave Roberts.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Steve Roberts out of the dugout. The managers are gonna
come face to face.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
Standing in between him is the crouchie Marburn Hudson and
Duck just bum Mike Shilt.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
The dugout's clear.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
Mike Shilt has been barking all day to boy and
then he yelled at Dave Roberts and the Padres and
Dodger bullpens now empty, they gather on the warning track
next to the Dodger dugout. This has been brewing all
season long, and finally the tempers are too hot.

Speaker 8 (04:37):
Good job by Steven Nelson on the radio right here
on M five seventy if you're just joining us this hour.
The suspensions have been handed down by the MLB in
wake of last night's game that we had here on
our air, and a lot of reaction all day on
your Dodger station. AMI seventy la Sports and the suspensions
are as follows.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Matt, much to Keith Oberman's chagrin, just one game. Whoa
Dave Roberts Mike Mike shilt one game as well, but
Robert Suarez ends up getting three as he is the
guy that hits Shohail Tani, so he gets three.

Speaker 7 (05:14):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
The managers get one apiece and hopefully can can close
the book on this particular chapter of the Dodger padres
uh recent rivalry.

Speaker 8 (05:24):
Noligas all the Nats are in town. They're thirteen games
of under five hundred. They don't have a lot of
fight in them. Shelt ain't coming out of the dugout
for them.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Not cle have added at least one thousand views to
this song, has like five thousand.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
Views name name. They lost none of their last ten
that's in town.

Speaker 8 (05:57):
Kurshaus on the mound tonight, He's only twelve strikeouts away
from three thousand in his Hall of Fame career. Again,
the Dodgers and Nats tonight. Now, as far as the
Angels go, they had.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
A wait, let's not forget now, he might be old.
He might be out there throwing VP to his kid,
might have a little bit of a boiler, But that
last time out, our man Clayton Kershaw was dealing against
those giants.

Speaker 8 (06:23):
Okay, it's great, You're right, Matt, I'm sorry not we
would be remiss. Now, the Angels are two games under
five hundred. They had a pretty good road trip and
they're taking on the Houston Astros tonight from home, and
there was an altercation with the Buccaneers.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Matt, Yeah, this was pretty gnarly. Still not like a
ton of details on what was said, but Dennis Santana
was in the bullpen. The Pirates and Tigers were playing
a double header out of America Park that's in Detroit,
and last night, second game, maybe somebody, you know, a
little too looped up because you know, already there for
nine and now you're a couple more innings deep into

(07:03):
the second game, he was approached by a fan that
was rasing the players, and uh, Santana point pointed at
the fan, called security over, and then apparently kind of
escalated to the point where he felt like he had
to take a swipe at him like he kind of jumped,
little little little jump punch like almost like yeah, you know,

(07:24):
maybe you can get maybe you can get the video
little uh yeah, like a little swipe and uh taken
into the clubhouse by the teammates. Fan ejected, Obviously, Baseball
gonna suspend him. You can't allow any contact between a
player and a uh and a fandom, matter what they say.
But Santana afterwards, you know, kind of shared. Look, I've

(07:46):
been in this game for eight years, you know, I've
never done anything like this. That was absolutely unacceptable. What
was going on out there?

Speaker 4 (07:53):
That's a beautiful jump slap.

Speaker 9 (07:56):
Yes, you know who Dennis Santana came up with and
made his major league debut with bananas no good gas patchos,
but no the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Oh sorry.

Speaker 8 (08:09):
For the first time in over twenty years, legendary Cubs
slugger Sammy Sosa, who has used the cake soap to
whiten his skin or return to Wrigley Field.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
He didn't look like he was using the cake soap today.

Speaker 8 (08:23):
Yeah, well, you know you use it, and you don't
you look like Sammy Sosa. He was greeted by owner
Tom Ricketts. He watched the Cubs afternoon game versus the
marineras Sosa is being inducted into the Cubs Hall of
Fame this year after making amends with the team. Sammy Sosa,
I'll tell you what's amazing, because he's freaking fan.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I was like, wait a minute, that looks like Sammy
Shoshi from twenty years ago. But it doesn't look anything
like Sami Shosa. People.

Speaker 8 (08:49):
People don't understand that there is a very, very large
bleaching issue in the Caribbean with different levels of skin bleaching.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
But it's temporary.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
It depends, man, that's wild.

Speaker 8 (09:02):
Game seven of the NBA Finals is Sunday and OKC
thunders Pacers. You know the winner is going to take
the whole thing, Matt.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
It says that right here, you're sure the winner takes all?
Does a loser take the fall fight till the beginning
of the end.

Speaker 8 (09:17):
You know, I don't know what the loser takes, but
right here it says, winner takes all. Hall of Famer
and farmer laker Vlade Divots underwent surgery after suffering a
broken hip from a motorcycle fall.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Hey you're eight feet tall and you're old. How about anyway?

Speaker 8 (09:35):
He was on your roator car. He was on a
motorcycle in Montenegro. Doctors say he's in stable condition and
under careful supervision and a big problem that it is
a no smoking hospital. And there's some NFL news about Shador.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Matt Shadeur, after two speeding tickets in the last month
in Cleveland, finally had something to say. He was at
a celebrity So apparently it was a celebrity softball time
across the country. Not just Mookie celebrity game at Dodger Stadium,
but all kinds of people were having celebrity softball games
around Major League Baseball yesterday.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
I mean there were other juneteenths.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
They were exactly right.

Speaker 8 (10:12):
So then you were competing for black celebrities with other
baseball entities.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, I think probably locals. You know the direction you
were going to go. Who can we get locally?

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Here?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Good in l A, all good Cleveland. I don't know
if Drew carries around.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Or what, but as the curator of the Lebron Museum,
and I.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Read here's Shador.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
He's on my Obron life.

Speaker 6 (10:35):
You know, Mason wrong choices personally, and I got hold
up to him.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
I'm Mason, you know not.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Great choice saying that because he's incredible person.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I learned. I learned from the real.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
People learn I learned. Well, I love that's my quarterback
right there.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
I'm glad we cleared that up.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
That's great stuff, chadur.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Would you like to clear up the one hundred and
one mile an hour on the ninety one mile an
hour speeding ticket thing? Learn?

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Okay, that's good stuff.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
I like to drive fast. I got this Dodge pick
up with like a V sixteen engine in it, and
it just begs to go fast.

Speaker 9 (11:15):
Yes, Tim, Can you imagine being Julie white ercle and
be like in demand for Juneteenth celebrity games?

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Like you know what?

Speaker 9 (11:22):
The Guardians offered me a lot of you know, yeah,
up here we go. What do you got, Dodgers? Can
you top that off?

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Kadem Harrison?

Speaker 2 (11:33):
You mean to tell me we can get Kadem Harrison.
I'm playing on the table.

Speaker 9 (11:37):
Maybe the Giants have offered him five grand and four
tickets of the game.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
What can we do?

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Hold on, i'mna figure it out.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
What's seem right, I'm on the I'm on the phone
with t Boss.

Speaker 8 (11:54):
From We'll be right back with more great sports talk
on hamp fires seventy LA Sports. We will have David
Vasse live from Dodger Stadium with the latest.

We're with you.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yeah, follow the Petros in Money Show wherever you get
your podcasts now Here's Petros Papadakas and Matt money Smith
David with an inside look at the Dodgers. This is
the Vassi Reports with David Basse.

Speaker 8 (13:02):
David Vasse joining us right now. He knows exactly what's
going on, who's in the right, who's in the wrong,
what it all means, and what the Curly Dubs bring
to Los Angeles. Padres Dodgers was a hell of a
lot of fun, but everything must come to an end.
David Vasse from Spectrum Sportsnet LA and MLB networking right

(13:25):
here on AM five seventy with us right now, the
Prince of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High School.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Hello, Dave, how are you?

Speaker 5 (13:33):
I'm doing great? Guys, had a Dodger talk that went
until midnight last night. Back out. You're at Dodgers Stadium
earlier this afternoon at two o'clock, and seems like the
storm is passed and we'll see what the Dodgers have
to say today. After hearing the postgame comments from Manny Machado,
especially who said the Dodgers better pray that tatist Junior

(13:57):
CT scan comes back negative. So I wonder if the
Dodgers are going to hold chapel every day until August
the next time, or until they hear the CT scan result.
Maybe they're having chapel right now. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
What's gonna happen.

Speaker 7 (14:10):
They're gonna hire like Ray Donovan to try to break
Otani's legs and his bad or something like why why
had they better pray? Like, what's what's gonna happen if
he is does have a broken hat?

Speaker 5 (14:22):
Yeah exactly. I mean they're not going to see each
other until August fifteenth. So look this reminded me of
Sacramento Kings having that imperiority complex to the Lakers in
the early two thousands. It reminds me of the Red
Sox and Yankees. That's what this is. And the emotions
are spilling over from the Padre side, and the Dodgers

(14:45):
obviously will be on full alert when they see them
on August fifteenth.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Dave, I think one of the more incredible things to
come out of last night was the whole You know,
I'm not breaking any new share, but just like the
whole Otani like, yeah, I got plunked, stay in the
Dutch out and then going over and talking to the
padre dugout. It just kind of exuded an air of
excellence and superiority. Like what did you take away from
that in your immediate moment after he got plunked, and

(15:12):
then how he dealt with it.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Yeah, well, Otani has shown in his baseball career he
likes to avoid any sort of conflict, so he's that's Otani,
and it did kind of feel like he was playing
mind games with the Padres. And here's one other point
that a lot of people have failed to realize. The
Padres hit Otani twice on purpose? Do they realize that

(15:39):
Otani pitches? I mean, if there's one position player that
could take things into his own hands, it's him because
he pitches. So I feel like nobody's uh realized that
part of this whole equation that if the Padres want
to keep hitting Otani on purpose, he is a pitcher,
and there's a very good chance he'll pitch against the

(16:01):
Padres when they see each other in August. So there's
a lot of position players and especially pitchers, that are
safe with the DH now. But if there's one position
player that can take things into his own hands, literally
if he wanted to, is sho he Otani.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
David Massey is with us. How did it get so bad? Dave?

Speaker 8 (16:24):
You know, Schilt seems like he's a respected manager and
stand up guy. Dave Roberts, we know, well, how could
he get so heated between these two guys.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
It goes back to last year's NLDS. Schilt still very
frustrated that the Padres gave up that two games to
one lead Manny Machado through the baseball at Dave Roberts
in the dugout last year, obviously frustrated that they lost
two out of three in San Diego and lost the
first three games here at Dodgers Stadium, and Fernando Tattis

(16:58):
Junior was hit three times within a week by journeyman
relievers like Luke Trevino and a guy making his major
league debut and Jack Little. None of those were intentional.
I spook to Trevino, he said, I have to pitch
him inside. That's the way you pitched Tattoos, and unfortunately
a couple got away from me. I understand the optics,

(17:19):
but none of it was intentional. But from the Padres side, guys,
I completely understand Shilt being upset with Tattoos being hit
that many times in a seven game span over a
course of a week. You've got to protect your star players,
even if those pitches were unintentional. But the way the
Padres went about it was completely poor. Poorly executed. Randy

(17:45):
Vasquez on Tuesday night taking two shots to try to
hit Otani. If you want, if Mike Shilt wants to
talk about old school baseball, you only get one shot,
and Vasquez missed it. And then you had Robert Suarez
last night behind in the count Rioh and pluck Sotani
between the one and seven near his head. You don't

(18:05):
do that either, And I would expect suspensions, certainly for
Suarez because issues were warned. The two managers likely to
get at least a game as well. So those are
those That's where things are headed right now. But the
Padres let their emotions, as always, get the best of them.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
That's something you've talked about for years when it comes
to the Padres and series against the Dodgers, Dave, what
about just kind of in what's lost in all of this?
And I understand it's been fun. The rivalry games are fun,
you know, just that the heightened emotions are fun for fans.
But this concludes that run that we talked about with
you before it even started with the Yankees and the

(18:46):
Mets and the Diamondbacks and the Cardinals and the Giants
and the Padres, and it seemed to turn out a
lot better than we had talked about. Hey, if they
can just go five hundred, you'll feel pretty good. But
it was a heck of a lot better than that.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Yeah, seventeen and twelve after last night's game, concluding a
twenty nine game stretch against playoff type teams, seven times
against the Mets, seven times against the Padres. Giants were
part of that equation, Cardinals, Guardians, Yankees. Yeah, so the
Dodgers came out well above what many expectations were and

(19:22):
even on this homestand have created some separation between themselves
and the Giants and Padres in the division race. And
they still don't have Glass now Snell and Otani at
full strength pitching wise, they don't have Blake Trining yet.
They're going to add Alexis Diaz at some point. So
I would say the Dodgers aren't a great spot as
they go closer to the All Star break.

Speaker 8 (19:46):
Somebody earlier today reminded me of Clayton Kershaw. I didn't
remember that he's still pitching, but I was reminded that
it is a big night for Kershaw, and he really
did deal the last time he was out there.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Do you think he can keep it rolling, Dave?

Speaker 5 (20:03):
I do against this team, for sure. He pitched seven
scoreless innings against the Giants. He can smell three thousand strikeouts.
He's only twelve away. I don't expect him to get
all twelve tonight, of course, but I could see him
getting at least half of those tonight against this lineup.
James Wood is the biggest threat in this lineup to Kershaw,

(20:25):
but he's a lefty and Kershaw has done really well
against the lefties. So tonight's another step closer for Clayton
Kershaw to join history. Because only three left handed pitchers
have three thousand strikeouts in baseball history, that's Steve Carlton,
Randy Johnson, and CC Sabathia. He would join that elite

(20:47):
group in the next couple of starts.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Dave, another solid I would call it a solid start
for Hayes on Kim. What is kind of the future
here with Conforto if Kim continues to play pretty well
in his place.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Yeah, Conforto's in the starting lineup tonight, So I just
don't think you're going to see Conforto get starts and
starts just being run out there. That's what Dave Roberts said.
And he's going to play the matchups Conforto incredibly. The
reason why he's in there tonight is because he has
better numbers the last two years against lefties than rightings.

(21:23):
So it's really a conundrum for the Dodgers on when
to match up Conforto. But yeah, his everyday job is
not as secure as it was even when this home
stand started, because he just hasn't gotten on track.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
When will we ever see Roki Sasaki again?

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Well, Roki Sasaki was playing catch today, but he was
played sixty day. I l as well. I don't know.
Dave Roberts said a few days ago Petros that they
have to prepare that he is not going to pitch
again this year. And I don't know if he was
trying to do that to either pressure point on Sasaki
or not. But the manager comes out publicly and says that,

(22:05):
and that tells you they're not counting on him, and
they've got to move forward as it's they're not going
to have Sasaki.

Speaker 8 (22:12):
Dave, We're looking forward to it tonight, have a great night,
Morongo Casino Dodgers on DAK Last night he talked to
the groundskeeper.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Who do you got tonight?

Speaker 5 (22:22):
Last night I talked to Justin Robleski. Today, we're gonna
see if we can find somebody that would speak freely
about that Pod Day series and don't forget Tim Kates
and David Basse Otani Day Sunday afternoon, Tim Kates Getaway
Day Dodgers talk David Basse Sports and at LA Sidelines

(22:43):
on Otani Day. That's the headline of the weekend.

Speaker 8 (22:46):
Oani Bitches Sunday on Friday, we like to remind you
here on the Petrosen Money Show that it's the Surfside

(23:09):

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Welcome, Hello, PMS listener.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Did you know Am five seventy LA Sports has a
wide range of LA sports podcasts.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
There's Rogan and Rodney, that one is my favorite, Dodger
Talk with.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
David Vassei, the Dodger Podcast of record, Clipper Talk Without
a Musk, follow us all and many more. Just go
to AM five to seventy LA Sports on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 8 (23:43):
And don't forget to podcast the show. If you miss
anything this week, it's all there and it was a
great week.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
But right now it's time for the Dead Guy. Birthday
of the.

Speaker 8 (23:50):
Day, cause we were told to celebrate country music.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
So long ago.

Speaker 8 (23:56):
A lot of people, I mean, we do celebrate some
country music from the forties around here, like Spade Cooley
love Spade. Everybody right here loves Space though a convicted murderer.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Yeah, well yeah, it's Murder's murder Madamy.

Speaker 8 (24:14):
Geez, there's no statue of limitations on what Spade Coolie did.
One hundred and nine years old today. David loop Myrick,
known professionally as T Texas Tyler. Why Johnny Tyler born
just outside of Mina, Arkansas, I don't know why he's
called Texas. He first recorded here, Texas. He first recorded

(24:40):
for Black and White Records as a member of the
Six Western Airs and then Four Star Records in Hollywood
in the mid forties to the fifties. A lot of
rockabilly style, a lot of Spade Coolies style, to be honest.

(25:00):
His biggest hit, The Deck of Cards in nineteen forty eight,
was a spoken word hit single which was his biggest hit,
told the story of a World War Two soldier who
tells the tale of how a deck of playing cards
serves him as a bible, an almanac, and a prayer book.

(25:23):
He altered but did not actually write Deck of Cards.
It once appeared in a New York Irish American newspaper,
The Advocate in nineteen sixteen. This was like a like
a poem or something or yeah, like a boy named Sue,
which was a poem that they turned the country SOLDI into.
He was a performer frequently at the Grand Old Opry

(25:46):
and one of our favorites, Matt Louisiana Hayride. This right
here is one of his great songs. Filipino Baby.

Speaker 2 (25:53):

Only girl coming back to the Philippines is what he's doing. Wow.
All the ship's crew gathered, Hey, I'm making an honest
woman animer and that's nice.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Well, I mean, what do you expect? Her hair is
as black as death?

He did some hymn albums for Capitol Records in the
mid sixties.

the Deck of Cards.

Speaker 8 (26:50):
After his first wife, Claudia, died in the sixties, he remarried,
moved to Springfield, Missoo, and preached to a local congregation
and occasionally performed. Fifty five was what he died. That's
how old he was. He died in seventy two. The
great Spade Cooley, I mean T Texas Tyler, not the
murder David Luke, Myrick. T Texas Tyler, a great country

(27:14):
music legend. We'll keep it going.

Speaker 2 (27:16):

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Hey, Happy eightieth to Anne Murray. If there is no
Anne Murray, there may not be a Celine Dion, There
may not be a Katie Lang. There may not be
a Shania Twain.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
No Katie Lang, right, who'll sing in a bowler?

Speaker 2 (27:54):
She is one of the most successful Canadian female singers
in the history of music. Anne Murray was born in
Nova Scotia. Her father was the town physician spring Hill,
Nova Scotia, a mining town mother and nurse. She grew
up with five brothers. Started taking piano at six, and
she loved music and she loved singing. Started her singing
lessons at six, just like the piano, but was on

(28:18):
the path of a standard student. At the University of
New Brunswick until thanks to her time in the glee club,
she was included on the student record that was put
out annually, The Groove. She sang two songs Unchained Melody
and a little bit of Soap on the album a

(28:42):
little bit of Solt on the album. They misspelled her
name It's just Ann, but they spelled it with an E.
Gave her a little bit of mystery, and the Canadian
Broadcasting Company that it took all it took. They called
the university to have and perform on their famous sing
Along Jubilee. Now, while she was a guest singer, she

(29:05):
was not offered a spot permanently, so she took a
gig teaching of all things physical education. But about a
year later single one like the character and Porkies just
like that character in Porties sing Along Jubilee. Though they
were like, eh, something about that an They called back
and they offered a permanent slot on their cast. She

(29:27):
was far and away the most popular performer on the show,
so they said you got to get out of here.
This is too small time for you. She cut to
Toronto seeking a record deal, got one with ARC and
recorded the album What About me title track. Huge Capitol
signed her from that and her second album had that

(29:48):
song we just heard on it, Snowbird, and yes, Snowbird
was a number one song in Canada, all one hundred
and forty seconds of it in nineteen seventy. That could
be he ate one song. Yet she was a star,
and during the seventies and eighties she just pumped out
one huge hit after another. I was this one though,

(30:10):
This was the one that set the records. So popular
was Anne Murray that she got to mention in Blame
Canada from South Park that's right quote with all their
hockey hullabaloo, and that bitch Anne Murray too. She did
a duets record in O eight with Celine with Shanaia

(30:32):
with Nellie Fortado. All the Canadians, Hey Forritato showed up
for that. Fortato showed up for that one. She was
so popular in the late seventies that she got like
the the Bob Hope Bing Crosby treatment. CBS would have
the Anne Murray special once a year at Christmas time,

(30:54):
a special Anne Murray Christmas and Murray RSVP, and it
would pull in four thirty million viewers. For Ann Murray,
she was nominated for a gramm iss, she won four,
including the Record of the Year and seventy eight for
this one.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
You needed me.
