Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome three hout.

Speaker 2 (00:02):

Show on air at AM five seventy LA Sports with
the ability to really go anywhere and do anything, streaming
everywhere with the iHeartRadio app hosted by Bad Money Smith.
Check out the fit and Petros Papadakas. That's what we
like to hear here they are on your home of the.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
LA Dodgers in sync and down the Green.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Petrosin Money, Rosen, Money, Rosen, Money Ros.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
What we seek is sometimes compensation for what we put
up with.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Going and I man, Petros and Money AM five to
seventy LA Sports live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app your
home for Dodgers Baseball Galloping Motors broadcast Booth Tonight five
sixty five thirty Dodgers on deck will have two teams
that were awfully active at the trade deadline, both using
their chips to the center. All in Padres v. Dodgers

(00:58):
tonight and my god, what.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Is the update. I know that Ben and Jonas hung
on as long as they could. Appreciate trade deadline, Appreciate
those guys filling in for Rogan and Rodney, and they
stayed an extra hour for Petros and money schedule manipulation
day which may have never even happened ever before in
this way, so a historic day and cards on the

(01:23):
table face up. The Dodgers and Padres are all in
what happened to him?

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Dodgers have made two moves guys right before the deadline.
The first they acquired Kevin Kiermyer, former Tampa Bay Ray
center fielder who Andrew Freeman is very familiar with, and
David Veasse has mentioned his names many of all Sea
trade for. They five different teams has tried to trade
for keer Meyer. They finally get him from the Toronto

(01:48):
Blue Jays where he's played in eighty one games and
hitting a whopping one ninety five this week. Okay, but
hopefully you can turn things around, you know, the Dodgers
need some production out of the center fielder. But the
big move the Dodgers made it hasn't been officially been announced,
but all the MLB insiders are reporting that the Dodgers
are acquiring former Harvard Westlake standout and the Burbanks find

(02:09):
this Jack Flaherty from the Detroit Tigers.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Four oh, who's Theyron.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Daylon Loronzo, who is the third Dodger catcher in the
system behind Diego Kartaya in Dalton Rushing. He is in
High A ball Great Lakes with the Loons. He is
their number eight overall prospect the Dodgers, and it is
considered he is considered by Baseball America as a top
one hundred overall minor league prospect. So they are giving

(02:37):
up something to get Jack Flarity, Theylon Lorenzo the number
eight overall prospect, and they're giving up shortstop Trey Sweeney,
who the Dodgers got from the Yankees this past offseason.
A good looking shortstop who was in TRIPLEA Oklahoma City,
had thirteen home runs, hitting two fifty four, a good
ops but just no room in the inn for Trey Sweeney,

(02:58):
so he gets dealt to the Tigers.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Kind of player is Flaarity right now. He's been around
for a little bit of a while. He's pitched a lot.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
He has pitched a lot. And the good thing is
he's only twenty eight still, and but he's a rental.
He's a rental.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
He's on a one year deal, so he is a rental.
But as you said, he's been around a while, he's
only twenty eight. But he's got a sub three era
and hey, here's a novel concept. Guys, he tends to
pitch into the sixth or seventh inning. Whoa about that?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Well, Matt, Matt, you know, it's one thing to be
able to do something. It's another thing to be allowed
to do that very thing.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Fair point.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
It's like once they see a guy get into the
fifth inning, the red phone and the dodger dugout or
something that they put some chip they put in Dave
Roberts's head when he was asleep in Canada or something
goes off and immediately Alex Vesia comes in and gives
up a jack and gets his boob scooped.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
That is not what I don't want to see, is
this Rubleski kid to get his first major league quin.
Somebody get me Vessia immediately.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
You know, I don't like the confidence that River Ryan's
exuding out there. I'm tired of watching this river flow
time down the river.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Immediately this Jack Flaherty trade guys came down in the
final two minutes before the trade deadline. Finally stroke at
three o'clock.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Besides, does it stank of desperation.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
No, this isn't a desperate move because they didn't give
up a whole lot to get a guy who could
be really good for them the final two and a
half months of the season and the postseason.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
So does this quiet the critics that had Andrew Friedman
trending on Twitter up until the two minutes before the
trade deadline exploded in everybody's face.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
It should make Dodger fans happy, right, mat this should
make them happy. They went on, God, this is guy
that can help him out.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
It was we heard of three starters that were going
to be know, Schooball was off the table. So the
three starters that we had heard about were this guy Flare,
the crochet who ends up not getting traded, and whoever
who's the dude that the the Orioles got from the
Marlins or something. They were like the three big ones

(05:09):
and they end up getting one of them. Blake Snell
didn't get traded. That guy Fetti was more of a
back of a rotation guy that the Dodgers could have
brought back. But Flaherty, I would say, probably slots in
right now as their number two behind Tyler Glass. Now yeah,
you know, I mean, I mean like in the playoffs
because of.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Me Kershaw the other night. Kershaw's great in the playoffs. Matt,
bite your tongue, seamhead. What do you trying to.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Prove because of Clida Kershaw? Matt, it is You're absolutely right.
He might be a long man.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Thank you. And when Walker Buehler comes back from his
Ayahuasca Carlos Castaneda trip in Florida where he studied the
Don Juan tapes.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
He's back from that ayahuasca trip.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Guys, he's gonna be on fire.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
He was in Oklahoma City and got touched up over
the weekend.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
And wait till Dustin mays esophagus. He twenty twenty five
from the craziest bong hit anybody ever took.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Kate would you? Would you say he may be a
game one starter, Clarity because he pitches every five days.
So if you're if you're throwing a guy in game one,
you want that guy to be ready on short rest.
And I don't know whether or not Tyler glass Now
is a guy who's going to be ready on short rest, right.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I think you acquired Tyler glass Now and you gave
him that extension to be a game one starter. Jack
Flarity is a guy that gives you that number two starter,
and now you can play around with whoever number three
is going to be, whether it's a Kershaw, whether it's
Landing Neck, whether it's River Ryan or Justin Rubleski or whoever.
If you can get Yamamoto back. But now he's slotted

(06:46):
in his number two. You have to make class.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Now you're not on the start, right You asking questions?

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Man? Have you guys? Well, let me ask a question.
Then let me into this seam head conversation. I want
to be part of it. Have you gone for aid
on the stone Bone?

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Gavin Stone too? He just slipped my mind. There's so
many guys they can choose from now.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Boy, the stone Bone has struggled a little bit. I
think it's fair to be a little worried about the
stone Bone come the postseason, right whether or not you
you know, if you're handing a guy. Let's say you
lose game one and now it's game two, and are
are we good giving a stone Bone who's given up

(07:27):
at least four runs in three of his last four starts? Like?
Are we good giving him the ball in a game two?
Considering the most work he's ever had? He's a rookie.
You hit that proverbial rookie wall, and he has allowed
four for one and four runs in his last four starts.

(07:47):
I'm just saying, I know what you're saying. I like
the stone bone. I want my bone to be stone.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
I don't know anything about this Jack Flaherty guy. I
mean I know about him, but he's never been on
the show.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
All you need to know is he's from Burbank. That's
all you need to know. And he chose to go
to Harvard West like over Burrows High School, the powerhouse
that is, well, he didn't won Overshadow your time there,
Kate's Yeah, that's a good point. It's hard to look
out on the outfield and see all the accomplishments that
was putting by Kay from the nineties.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I don't want to step to that. No, he didn't
want to step to the wall. He just didn't want
to run his head into the wall for four years
for what When you can flourish in Harvard Westlake, home
of the alma mater of Mark Harmon, Come on, I
mean it's a no brainer. And you know what else
is a no brainer? Switching from a campsite that couldn't
accommodate us to us Teeming Brewery of Professionalism, Burgers and

(08:33):
Beer Brewery X in four days this Friday, Matt, we're
going to be there. Is Flirty going to be our guest?

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Oh that'd be good.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Great Call'd be pretty sweet if he was.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
We have moved locations. It's kind of going camping. We're
going back to Brewery X in Anaheim. We know the
place because we were there like three weeks ago. But
we have so much to offer merit patches. We have
the Peter Gaze badge, which is new.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, that's a good one. Hey, I just took a
leak in the Brewery X bathroom and there are no
dividers between the urnals. This dude looked, got to look
at my jump. Give him a Peter Gaates badge, that
would be yeah. I was letting it go and I
looked over and I saw him. I saw him catch

(09:31):
a glimpse. Do we have any other new merit badges?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
How we just pivot from the great trade talk? Yes
that the Dodgers just made to the Peter Gaze. There's
a there's the land on the roof with Vic and
Sweet James helicopter badge.

Speaker 1 (09:57):

Speaker 4 (10:19):

Speaker 1 (10:23):

your wrist badge. There's a hey, I'm gonna try the

or the yah, I'm gonna try for that every time bag.
There's a lot of badge talk.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
How about the I say pick the brick badge?

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Oh yeah, that's for you, not doom. Yeah, there's some

cable case.

Speaker 3 (12:13):

Speaker 1 (12:18):

Speaker 1 (12:36):

of starter.

(16:51):
I'm doing great.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
I'm talking to Gavin Stone, who owes me a number
thirty five jersey because I bet him he would not
get traded today, and if he did get traded, I
owed him one hundred dollars. So I'll keep that shiny
Benjamin Franklin Stone, and you better go get me that
thirty five Stone jersey.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
We're live on the radio in La. I'm sure he's
happy about.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
It, Like, yeah, he's happy. I'm happy. I'm happy he's here.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
We are too, Dave, talk about the surprise of a
very late trade that nobody saw coming, had happened at
the last minute. How rare. Is this give us some perspective?

Speaker 5 (17:27):
Well, Petros, when Jack Flaherty was not coming off the board,
he was going to be traded and the Dodgers had
their sights set on him, and I feel like they
were just winning for the price to come down at
the last minutes of the trade deadline. He's a rental pitcher.
The Dodgers actually tried to sign Jack Flaherty during the

(17:47):
offseason before he signed with the Tigers. So this interest
to have Jack Flaherty with the Dodgers goes back to
the winter meetings. So this is big. And Jack Flaherty
has put his career back on track. From what I understand,
he has been more focused than what he has been
in years past. And this is certainly a guy that

(18:07):
could start Game two or a Game three of a
playoffs series. For you.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Well, knowing what they were targeting going in, we heard
they want impact players, not you know, back end of
the rotation, guys are going to help them win a
World series, Dave, knowing that was the goal, how do
you assess what they came away with.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Well, like I said yesterday, Andrew Freeman had until three
o'clock today for us to assess his trade deadline, and
I feel like he did a lot with not giving
up that much. Many are saying the Dodgers gave up
virtually nothing to the White Sox to acquire Tommy Edmund
and Michael Kopek. Kopek actually just spoke in the dugout.

(18:49):
We'll let you hear from him in a second. But
when you look around Kevin Kiermeyer, he can help in
the outfield. And the biggest thing is every person I
spoke to they felt like the Dodgers needed a starting pitcher.
And when I talk about the people, I'm talking about
the coaching staff. They felt like if they had to
choose one area that they would love to see acquired,

(19:11):
it would be a starter. And Jack Flaherty's that guy.
It was becoming apparent, guys that Garrett Crochet was not
going to be moved. My understanding talking to multiple sources,
the White Sox wanted Dalton Rushing in any trade for Crochet,
and the Dodgers just were not going to do that.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Day. Before you get to the Copek sound just kind
of speaking of the Crochet thing. I don't know where
he would have slotted in, but we were just talking
about this Where do you think Jack Flaherty slots in
the postseason, Because he's a guy who's pitched every fifth day,
and he's pitched damn well this year.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
He would pitch Game three for me, And if Yamamoto's
not healthy, he's pitching Game two for me, you know,
if he's not ready to go. And I feel like,
now you have a real playoff rotation again. And if
Yamamoto is able to come back and remain healthy, all
of a sudden, now you're looking at a playoff rotation
with Tyler Glass, now Yamamoto, Jack Clarity, and Clayton Kershaw.

(20:13):
That's a pretty good starting rotation to go into a
playoff series.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Broll Kershaw into any playoff game right now. David vess
Hey is our guest at the Real Underscore dv un
impeccable Dodger Reporter. What was Kopak like?

Speaker 5 (20:26):
Dave? He was a mild mannard, a guy that, from
what I understood, struggled throwing strikes, got down on himself
when things weren't going well. But he seems excited to
be on a team that is not fifty games under
five hundred and be on a team that's looking for
a World Series title. Here's what Michael Kopek had to

(20:48):
say just moments ago in San Diego.

Speaker 6 (20:50):
I've got a glimpse of playoff baseball, but I think
playoff baseball brings out the best in ball players. And
to be on a group of guys that have done
it so much and to know that that's what we're
working towards and working towards towards the World Series, I think,
you know, it's exciting for me and exciting for the club.

Speaker 7 (21:09):
The Dodgers have had a reputation, specifically Connor McGinnis, of
helping guys really maximize their their talents and repertoire. Have
you had a chance to talk to him and do
you believe he could really help you?

Speaker 6 (21:21):
Just a quick introduction so far, but I've heard a
lot of great things and I'm excited to get to
work with him.

Speaker 7 (21:26):
What's it like to be teammates with Joe Kelly?

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Again?

Speaker 6 (21:29):
I love Joe, man, I love Joe. He's he's one
of the kind, and he has fun playing the game
and he plays the game well. So to be reunited
with him and be in this organization means.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
A lot, all right, guys, Yeah, Michael Kopeks here. Tommy
Edmund's here just to get to him. I was told
the Dodgers brought Tommy Edmund here so their trainers could
examine his ankle, which he injured. I'm not sure which
one during his rehat from his surgically repaired right risk.
So the Dodgers are going to evaluate him. My sources

(22:02):
in Saint Louis told me that they were expecting tom
Yetman to be able to return to the Cardinals within
ten days. So that's a fair expectation.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
If you got to go, Dave, just holler. But what
you're in San Diego. It seems like the Padres moves
were universally applauded, that they really built up what very
well could be the best back end in all of baseball.
What do you make of what they did and how
dangerous they're going to be on the postseason if they
can get there.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Yeah, well, right now, their starting rotation is a little thin.
They have two or three really good ones, but after
that there's a big drop off. So aj Preller thought
the most effective way to cover that rotation was by
trying to shorten the game with Adam from the Rays
and today acquiring the most coveted reliever in Tanner Scott

(22:52):
to go with their already great closer Robert Suarez. So
they did improve themselves significantly, but in the process he
emptied the farm system. He gave up two of their
top five prospects along with a top fifty. His job
is on the line to get to the postseason, and
that's the reason why he went that way. And I

(23:12):
feel like the biggest loser are the Marlins in more
ways than one. They did not have to trade Luisa
Rise early in the season to the Padres. You see
the bidding war going on for hitters these days. They
could have really got a feeding frenzy for a Rise
going into the three o'clock deadline. So they basically traded
their whole team, and they could have got more. They

(23:34):
would have held on to a Rise until today.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
All Right, Dave four o'clock Instagram Live, right.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Four o'clock and five seventy LA Sports Instagram Live. We'll
answer all the questions. You never know who might stop by,
so we'll do that, presented by Navian.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
All Right, thank you, Dave in great work. Have a
great day out there. That was the Petrosen Money version.
I believe Matt of busting a break to get Dave
on and off with all that information and the rousing
Copex sound, because that's.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
A guy we got to get on. We gotta get
Copec on the show.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Did you see what the White Sox bullpend did last night?

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Did they pour some Yeah?

Speaker 4 (24:17):
They all sipped it and then poured it out for him.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Yeah. Copex seems like a beloved guy. Maybe his beloved
as hot Foot in Ted Lily. Matt. I don't know, though,
that nobody was more fun and more of a wacky
fool in that dugout than Hotfoot Ted Lily. You turn
your back, it's a hotfoot you turn a corner, it's
that giant hand from Jackass like that guy. That guy

(24:44):
was a barrel of monkeys hot.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
I hate promoting our competition, but in this case we will.
Dave does a bang up job. He'll be out there
at Petco Park four pm, Instagram Live, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
We're going to or podcast. Does you know?

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Yeah, that's exactly right. They'll uh, they'll post it later.
You don't really want to see it live. It's it's
a complete circus. It's like v Loo without controls. Take
that to the car the carnival. I mean, we're live
and we know what we're doing. I mean he had
to talk to a guy who rolled his ankle and
apparently has to get examined to see whether he's really
going to be coming back anytime soon. Uh so that means,

(25:25):
you know, we get the short shrift here, which is fine.
You know, you want to talk to a guy that
hasn't played a single game this season, see how that
ankle's doing. You know, give him your old combine exam
you grab that foot, start twisting it the way it's
not supposed to go.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Let's see what it has to do. Is that what's happening.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
I think that's what he said. He's got to talk
to this Edmund guy before he goes through his ankle test.
Or maybe they're gonna put cups on him.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Oh and him, or a cupping. I love a cupping.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
That's going to get a little cuppying going.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
All right, Well we'll do these secret texto so rodeo around.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Yes, it could be worse. Could be the Angels today
didn't make any blockbuster trays to help out your farms.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
West. But hold on, wait, well we do have trout's
doing good right.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
No, no, no, it was just announced he had another
setback in his rehabit. Cordy okay, but.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Red doone is back yep.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Oh, he's played a game so far this season.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
He's back on the I L.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
So they were supposed to trade what Tyler Anderson.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
And uh somebody named Ward Taylor Ward Taylor Tyler Ward?

Speaker 1 (26:27):
What about Uh? The guy the Dodgers were going after
some infielder.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
He's done, still there, he's still there.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
Yeah, they didn't make I thought they trade. They traded
a reliever. That's it, dude, Luisa Stevens. They're closing. They
traded to Philadela.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
I love Yeah. I feel like Rengifo is the only
Angel that plays like. Those guys don't want to play.
Trout didn't want to play, Rendon doesn't want to play.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Rendon's back on the io with lower back inflammation.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
And I'll say it, I didn't like Rookie visiting Rams camp.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (27:04):
You're struggling out there, man, Go be with your team.
We'll be with your team.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
You see Vigo just watching watching balls, third strikes, just
flying in there.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Come on, man, Yeah, grabbing by the back of the
neck and say, hey, kid, you got to swing that back,
get that lumber off your shoulder.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Come on, come back. I'm Mookie Betts, I'm Brian Fellows.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
I'm feeling a little bit better after these trades now,
I mean, Daniel Jeremiah was already calling me and just
reaching out like, hey, what are you guys gonna do
with the deadline?

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Here?

Speaker 4 (27:31):
We're pretty active, you're not well.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Yeah, there was a lot of late, late breaking people
that have gotten on top of the people that were
calling out the Dodgers and Andrew Friedman for not doing
anything and Gomes. Now the people are like flirty to
the Dodgers, flirty to the Dodgers. So they got the
starter they needed. Dave Roberts does not have to throw
his phone around in the uh in the coach's office

(27:57):
like McCrae.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Let me just say this, Kates, what sized tank top
do you think you would wear?

Speaker 4 (28:03):
A large?

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Okay, I'm very excited for our Friday broadcast based on
the tank tops I was able to secure here on
the Amazon that will be here Thirsty. Are they vests
or they're tanks?

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Scout tanks?

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yeah, they're like Scout themed tank tops because it's hot
out there, and last time sent me, I didn't bring
a tank and you had like a tank moment. So
I figured we'll do our top of the hour tank
on vealen copy for these. Now I can see if
I can track down a sash.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Can they hold a badge?

Speaker 1 (28:36):
I think we're just gonna are we just gonna do
like a double sided tape thing kates for the badges.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
I don't think we're doing badges.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Guys, excuse me?

Speaker 3 (28:44):
What ye sash? Maybe or like a nice cumber blad.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Now, I do have pride months Scout, life with a
Rainbow Scout and then life under it?

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Get that for two. Uh, we've got to get that
for Tim Cakes and Kim Taints get too. We'll be
back with more great sports talk, some Textoso's some reaction
on AMPI seventy LA Sports your Home of the Dodgers
who acquired a pitcher at the last second.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
I trust some money going until five thirty tonight, Dodgers
on deck after that first pitch, six forty Dodgers padres
Our summer tour will continue its camping theme and it
is this Friday. Set your schedules. We're on a flex alert.
Two to five thirty. We've moved locations BREWERYX and a Anaheim.
We would love to see you no longer going to Cavina.

(29:41):
We are going to Brewery EXS and Anaheim Covina out
Anaheim in you know where Brewer Rex is. We've already
had a summer tour stop there. They were able to
bail us out after the campfire extinguished itself on our
summer corrobation bacle.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
It's like Don Kucko's out, Finny's in. That's what it's like. Hey,
sor kids party, don't tell it copy down. Look at
this text, Matt. This trade deadline felt like sex. A
lot of build up, anticipation, premature, and then it's over

(30:16):
in a second. Almost literally everybody leaves mildly disappointed. That
is my take.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
The secret text does a fine brought to you by
your so called Toyota dealers.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
We make it easy.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
New Finney's beard, gut and stubby legs equals a long
round torso extra large for kids.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Oh because of the tank top sizing.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
Yeah, Matt is ordering tank tops.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Uh well, and I'm not done. I've got the three
tank tops loaded now. I just I'm shopping around for
some other scouting equipment to see if we can really
get this thing going.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Can I get like one of those hats that look
like an in and out burger guy?

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Oh yeah, yeah, I'll see if I can find those.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Can I also get a cupping badge with a jockstrap
emoji according to the secret textile, so that would be solid?

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Gotcha? I believe the scouts thill call that day. Never
mind what nay scout momb like a normal mom, but cooler.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
I like that one. Pee. My move to peter gaze
and not be obvious is when at the stall and
you're going, you pretend to it's your chin with your shoulder.
I did this once next to Darryl Strawberry, and I
thought the straw dog was holding a cops flashlight. I

(31:43):
should not have read that one. I'm sorry. Spirit Airlines
is my airline badge for Kim Taints.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
As well as legs that can be confused with much
roofs too.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
That's good merit batch.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Hey, Kate's are you a large? I am if you
want me to be dough.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Hey dog, I am if you want me to be.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Excuse me, mister, are you Blacks.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Now it is a big deal. I guess that the
Dodgers brought in Flaharty. I'm trying to understand and have
a perspective on how big of a deal it is
and if this is a move that they've made in
the trade deadline that's different from all the other years.
I do kind of remember the other year's Matt hearing

(32:36):
people like David Vassy say where the trade deadline is
the guys coming back from injury? Well kind of rang hollow.
You know, you'd hear that every year and then lose
in the NLDS and say, oh, well, maybe the trade
deadline wasn't guys that came back from injury. Of course

(32:57):
that one year, was it? Twenty seventeen? They got you,
darv which was a big beauty move in the trade deadline,
but he got his boob scooped in the World Series.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
And the other trade unfortunately, Yeah, the.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Other trade deadline guy Verlander and his meaty ass speaking
of meati segments and meeting breaks. He ended up winning
the World Series with the help of the trash Cans.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Exactly right.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
I don't know where this puts Dodger fans and the
Dodger organization and people like Kim Taints and Vassa in
the fall to say, do you remember what happened back
in late July. That's when the Dodgers took the next
step when they brought in Jack Flaherty and the utility

(33:40):
guy or whatever that Andrew Friedman liked.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
So the last three months, so you got the small
sample size, right his last three starts, where he's averaging
six innings a start and has a one to five
to three ERA, and so you're going six innings one
five three ERA, eighteen strikeouts and eighteen innings. And then
you got the large sample size, which is the previous
three months, where he has in the month of May

(34:07):
a two eight four ERA, June a two five three ERA,
and as we said here in July a one five
three ERA. So Jack Flaherty has pitched his ass off
this year. He's got a two nine to five overall,
one hundred and thirty three strikeouts, is fifteenth in the majors.
He's got a sub one whip, and he is UH
seven and five because he's playing for a pretty bad
Tigers team, mediocre to bad. So this is someone who

(34:32):
you could argue is pitching as good, if not better
than any Dodger starter, just in terms of like straight
era Tyler Glasnow's at three four seven Gavin Stone's at
three three four now glass Now has more strikeouts one
forty seven to Flarerty's one thirty three, but not that

(34:52):
much more. Maan, this is a dude that's pitching like
a guy who you could have a conversation and say
he was the best pitcher on the Dodgers so far
this year.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
So if you're a Dodger fan, you're hoping that all
those numbers and all that success and durability because he
has been fragile in the past, translates to the city
to see DoD here in Los Angeles, so we'll see. Well,
there's no no shower for twelve days. Merit badge for

(35:22):
mat Smith.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
You know I broke that streak today. It could have
been like four days.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Way to go.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
I know, I felt pretty good about myself.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Jesus, can I get a tank top with one nipple
on it? I don't know, ask.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Maath no, but we'll give you one nipple merit badge.
If you only got one nipple.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
You know, you guys didn't earn that. I did my
wife took my boatman badge.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
Oh, that's a good one. That's you know what, that's
actually a really good badge. Let's get a divorce badge.
That's the why she and it just says she took
my boat and if your divorce first, you get that
she took my boat badge. She took my boat. Shit
took my boat man.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Well, we appreciate everybody listening to breaking news, Petros and
money was important to get into that breaking news and
get the latest on Flaarty and come to terms with
the trade. Jim Kats, the host of Marongo Casino Dodgers
on Deck a big help and helping us get a
handle on it. And of course David Vasse, who's got

(36:32):
an Instagram live that starts in a couple minutes. You
can watch that later and podcast us. So you can
podcast us later and watch that live. We love everybody.
The Dodgers late trade at the deadline was like that
crazy rugby eighty five yard run by Alex Cedric for
