Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome three hours a great sports dot to the Petros
and Money Show on air at AM five seven LA
Sports with the ability to really go anywhere and do anything,
streaming everywhere with the iHeartRadio app hosted by Mad Money Smith.
Check out the fit and Petros Papadakas. That's what we
like to hear. Here they are on your home of
(00:23):
the LA Dodgers in sync and down the Petro Sin
Money trosin money Rosin money rosnys? Are they not? Is
that you guys may stop the show? Is that something
people talk about that might have real yellow teeth? Oh okay, good,
Like that's not like a thing, Like it's one thing
to make fun of somebody whose teeth are really white,
(00:45):
like Blake Snell's teeth looked really white, really white at
that press conference to match that beautiful white Dodger jersey,
that home jersey at number seven that he put on.
And somebody, I'm not going to say who, somebody somebody
who might who might might know how, might know very
(01:06):
well how to hit people where it hurts. That might
be of special skill. Somebody said to me that my
teeth aren't wide enough to interview Blake Snell and does
that mean that I have yellow I know my teeth
are kind of crooked. Do you think I have yellowy teeth?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Okay, yellowish? I'm just kidding. Start the show again. I'm sorry.
Do you think it's possible to ever see the past
as it actually was? Out? That is so lazy? Stop
(01:45):
the show, you know, I just want to say asay,
I mean, we literally went through a lot to get
that gong from Gongs Unlimited Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the
corn Huskers during COVID where we had nothing to talk about,
(02:08):
and Tim Gates, who's co hosting today, just hit the button,
the gong button instead of hitting the actual gong.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
You want to try it again? Take two?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Like that's like when my kid screams at me from
across the house to come into his room and turn
a light off and he's in bed, and it's like,
you know, it's right there, it's right there. Okay, you're right,
Let's try again. Do you think it is possible to
ever see the past as it actually was? Thank you
(02:45):
and welcome everybody. It is the one and only Petro
Send Money show on amis seventy LA Sports Your Home
a Blake Snell and the big Snall abration. Hitch you
Snell that Snall? Yeah, twenty twenty four World Series champion
Dodgers signed Blake Snell. You just heard the press conference.
(03:08):
Jim Hill got the first question, David Vassey did not
win place or show, and the question parade of the
Snell Cavalcade press conference. Surprising, to be honest with you,
more surprising Scott Boris sitting up there with Blake Snell.
More surprising than that. Nobody asked Scott Boris questions. Wait,
(03:30):
he's still sitting there. No, he's not waiting for a question.
They got up, They got up. But my point is
that we just saw the press conference. We just heard
the press conference. I would have loved to have heard
some of Fred and Jonas's thoughts about what they heard.
Did they not break it down afterwards? No, they just
hit the eject button. You know, you see that thing
(03:52):
on Twitter where the Georgia player hit the other Georgia
player on the head. Yeah, and it started all the fireworks.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
The second the Snell press conference was over, Fred slapped
Jonas on top of the head. Ronnie hit the button.
All the fireworks went up, and to Live and Dine
Elle we'll talk to you boys to be you got
to be that to not and it just ended. But
I thought that Blake Snell I've not heard. I have
(04:21):
to be honest, I have not heard a lot from
Blake Snell over the years. I remember one of his
sound bites talking about COVID when he was pitching way
back in twenty twenty, when everybody was really confused about
what they should or shouldn't be doing, and there was
a lot of information flying around and everybody was everybody's
(04:45):
still confused, but either way, I remember that, and we
talked about that on the air, And then I remember
that he made friends with Vassay, and I remember the
I am if you want me to be dog thing
that Matt and you often reference.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Well, he's a gamer too, and he was often gaming
with people, like in the middle of the night, and
people will talk about like when is this guy sleep? Yeah,
when he plays baseball and plays video.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
He's definitely an interesting character, as dominant pitchers often are,
in all kinds of different ways. But what I'm trying
to say is I don't really know much about Blake
Snell other than what you guys hear us talk about
on the radio and the fun stuff we say about
smelling that Snell. I know that he's from the Seattle area.
(05:29):
We looked into Shoreline, Washington and Shorewood High School right
by the water and all that. Yes, thank you, in
a suburban Seattle. So we talked a little bit about that.
But just watching the press conference and listening to his answers,
he seemed really thoughtful with his answers to the questions.
(05:53):
It seemed like he had a pretty good sense of
his self and of himself and what he wanted to
they in the Dodger press conference. He's thirty one years old.
I don't know if he's matured a whole bunch in
the last few years or anything like that. I don't
know how immature he was in the first place. But
he seemed like a guy that really knows what and
(06:15):
who he is and what he brings to a baseball
team and how good he is as a baseball player.
I mean, thirty five million dollars seems like a lot
of money.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
My guess is this is a different Blake SNeW probably
thirty one going on thirty two than he was six
seven years ago.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
In the major leagues.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
He's had the success individually, he's now cashed in with
a lucrative contract, and now he's got a legitimate shot
of winning a World Series, which he came up short
in twenty twenty. And of course that Game six with
the Tampa Bay Rays where he got taken out early
by Kevin Cash. We all know what happened there. He's
had the individual success. I think he's grown up a lot. Well,
you know, look, you're the host of Scam. You are
(06:54):
the host of the Morongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck, Oftentime,
Getaway Day, Dodger Tom and many things like that. We're
talking about Tim Kates, who's co hosting today. He's produced
a lot of shows All CIF Baseball.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
He's producing shows All CIF Baseball ninety six.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
That is everybody. Let's not forget about the twenty eight
years ago that Tim Kats was an All CIF catcher.
Twenty eight years ago. So let me ask you this,
Why is Blake Smell so special? Why did he win
to Cy Young's Why is he such an important pitcher?
Tell me that before because he's supposed to come on
(07:33):
in the very next segment.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
He'll be on it about twenty minutes. Do you promise, sure,
I promise. I haven't heard anything different. Have you heard
a no from Dodgers PR?
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Has Dodgers PR said hey, stand by, we're gonna call
him twenty nine?
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Ive got the standby text, but I have gotten that
we're still on track.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
So Blake Snell is going to join us in the
very next segment. But I'm asking you, Tim, why does
everybody want to smell that smell around here? What makes
him he's the ace of the Dodgers staff now that
he's on the team, right, yep, he's gonna pitch before
Yamamoto unless they're in Japan or something. He's gonna pitch
before Glass now, oh yeah, who's probably hurt no matter what?
(08:13):
Before Otawny is he? I would think so? Two time
Cy Young winner.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
What makes him so good is his dominance as a
left handed pitcher. And we know about Clayton Kershaw certainly
hearing the Dodgers for the last decade fifteen years. Blake
Snell has done it in Tampa. Didn't get a lot
of attention, but individually got the award. I mean, the
guy's a Cy Young Award winner in eighteen, a Say
Young Award winner two years ago. In San Diego. He
had an injury that slowed his twenty twenty four season,
(08:40):
but once he got healthy. He addressed it in the
media press conference about twenty minutes ago, where he said,
once he got through that navigation of the injury, he
was one of the best pitchers in baseball in twenty
twenty four. He's dominant, he's got an electric fastball, and
he's durable. This isn't a guy that spends a lot
of time on the injured list. He's not getting fifteen
starts a year. He's more like twenty plus thirty starts
to year.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
One of the things I found very interesting about what
he said was they asked him if he knew any
of the Dodgers, and he says, well, I've talked to
some of the pitchers. Position players were very competitive with
those guys, so I don't usually talk to those guys ever.
And now I'll have a relationship with him, and now
we'll become friends and family. That makes sense though, right Well,
(09:23):
I'd always go back to Mark Goubazaw, who's a dear
friend of the show. And I grew up at USC
football around some pitchers who were very good guys that
ended up playing in the major leagues, and they were
all very weird and unique in their own way. Randy
Flores was one at a Pico Rivera, Pico, India, and
(09:44):
he was like a really angry, ultra competitive, little reliever
type of guy. He was like a record breaking guy
at SC, but he was very different kind of guy.
Barry Zito was at SC obviously really different kind of guy,
especially back then. Seth Atherton was another guy who was
a really dominant pitcher at that level, and it was
(10:06):
always like, Wow, this guy's you know, a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
In are a little weird.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
They go about their business in a certain kind of way.
And I got that impression from Snell that he's like
on his own program. Yeah, does his own thing and
is very strange and competitive in his very strange competitive ways.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Well, left handers are always a little weird. I think
that's what they say about left handed pitchers. But there's
no the guy is dominant. The guy is so good
at what he does, and he's done it in Tampa,
San Diego, he did in San Francisco. For him, the
only thing he now needs to accomplish is win a
World Series championship. And you heard him, I want to win.
I'm joining the team that knows how to win. And
(10:50):
Andrew Freeman told you and Matt three weeks ago, Petros,
we may not have the same looking roster that we
had a year ago. We're gonna lose some guys. We're
gonna add some guys and the guy they wanted to
add like they did a year ago with taoscar Hernandez show. Hey,
o Tani. We want guys that are hungry. And you
talk about one of the best arms out there in
free agency, arguably one of the best arms right now
(11:11):
in baseball. Blake Snell, probably one of the hungriest guys
in baseball, want to win the championship.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
It sounded like he was a pick fit, very business like.
The thing that jumped out to me most when they
sat down was that the table was too small to
have four guys sitting up there. Scott Boris was up there,
and he's obviously one of the most powerful agents in
the history of sports. But also his head looks as
if it was carved out of like the rocks of
(11:38):
Mount Rushmore, just a very chiseled, rock like, boulder like
head on Scott Boris.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
You don't see the agent up there a lot at
a press conference. Usually once you get to the press conference,
his work has been done, he or she the work
has been done, and your work is done. You stand
the back with your group and you apply, and you
get that five percent that you're gonna get commissioned off
your client. You don't sit at the table. Well, Gomes
(12:07):
was up there, dodger, ga, he's the dodger. Jim and
Andrew Freeman's the president of baseball operation. But no casting,
no casting? Okay, why was Boris sitting up there?
Speaker 1 (12:16):
I have no idea. What's weirder Boris sitting up there
with Snell for his press conference. Or Caruso, Rick Caruso
giving a speech when Lincoln Riley was hired at USC,
oh donor at USC giving a speech running for mayor
of LA when Lincoln Riley was hired. Or Boris sitting
(12:36):
up there, face stoned, I mean just literally stone face.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
I'm gonna go Boris, because in the climate of college
athletics are where we're at right now, in twenty twenty four,
even a couple of years ago, at the Lincoln Riley
press conference, donors have a lot to say. What happens
I'm not surprised the guy who was running for mayor
at the time got a chance to go up there
and speak. This was a little surprising to have the
agent up there at a press signing.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
But I like, I like what Snell said. They're like, hey,
what's it going to be like? He said, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
I haven't talked to anybody. What's what's it going to
be like? Managed? Being managed by Dave Roberts. You know,
some guys would just say, oh, it's gonna be great.
I know Dave's the best, and I just can't wait,
and this and that, And he said, look, I've talked
to him as a friend. It'll be very interesting to
see what he's like as a manager. I need to
invest in people, invest in relationships, and get to know
(13:27):
these people. I mean, you don't usually hear somebody with
that kind of perspective that says, well, I'm just going
to come in here and do my thing. Usually that's
what guys say. He sounded very thoughtful and very contemplative
about the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I was pretty impressed the one relationship he does have,
and he mentioned it.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
A few times.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
His eith were very white, very white. It's hard to
get past that. His relationship with Andrew Friedman, and it
goes back to Tampa. Freeman drafted him out of high
school in Seattle, Washington. That is a relationship he has
continued to have and I guess is a big reason
why he ended up signing with the Dodgers. And they
did the deal the way they did it. But you
mentioned relationships. It doesn't sound like he's a guy that
(14:06):
you go around baseball and it's like, yeah, I know Blake.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
I know Blake.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
He's been on three different teams, and I imagine he
probably didn't have a lot of friends on those teams
just because of his demeanor, the way he is and
the way he goes out there as a pitcher every
five days and just does his thing.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Well, See, they asked him about a six man rotation.
He said, I've done a four man rotation, I've done
a five man rotation, I've done a six man rotation.
I don't care about that as long as we have
a plan and execute the plan. So it didn't seem
like anything was any kind of issue that anybody thought
would be an issue to bring in an ace like
him with a otanic type of guy on the staff.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I saw a guy and heard a guy Petros that
sounded mature, that sounded like a different Blake Snow that
from the outside looking in, I don't know him, Mike
David Vassi. We don't know him. Fans don't know him.
But you see what he went through in COVID. You
hear about the video game stuff that he had early
in his career. That's the most I've ever heard him talk. Yeah,
And I was impressed, absolutely, absolutely. He sounded like a
(15:01):
guy hungry to win and a mature man.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
And I've known those other three weirdo pictures in my life,
and he seemed like he was a weirdo just like
those guys. That probably bodes well for the Dodgers well.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Him and his girlfriend also welcome to kid the earlier
this year. Maybe being a father made him grow up?
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Was that the Hayley Yes that he referred to, Yes,
it was so he's a young father. He wore a
very Seattle grunge rock like nineteen nineties Oasis oversized green
sweater with diamonds on it. That's the new look the
oversized sweaters. He had incredibly white teeth and a very thin,
(15:39):
almost bad guy in a movie like Go Tea, like
a Get Carter Sylvester Stallone version.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Oh it wasn't an almost bad guy Goat it was. Yeah,
it was a bad guy Go Tea.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
So the one thing that we're kind of undecided about
and we do have, is there any update on Blake
Snell coming on. I will find out. I will find out.
We're good to go as far as I know. The
one thing we're undecided about is if we should put
David Vassa on or not today, because David Vassy is there.
There's a weird golden bat question out there, the golden
(16:14):
at bat thing that Major League Baseball floated through a
couple of sources, a spy balloon or a trial balloon
that's being shot down by most of the fans.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
There's that.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
So maybe we talked to Vassay. It seemed like he
was having a good time at the press conference. But
in the very next segment we're supposed to talk to
Blake Snell. And as the show goes on, we got
a word number Song of the day Tim Kates, who
is co hosting today because Matt's having eye surgery. Tim
Kates is very proud and anticipatory of the number of
(16:51):
the day. He thinks that he's got something special, and
we'll see what happens. I did put together a film,
no war corner for today because we have a three
and a half hour show, so we'll get to that
at the end of the four o'clock hour. Uh, there's
going to be an only Kate's care segment wait because
thank you Bart Scott. So we have that coming up
(17:14):
at five.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
I think it's gonna be stories that people do care about,
not just me.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
A couple people texted me yesterday, what time are you
going to talk about USC and Notre Dame? And I
did it yesterday, talked about to Sean Foster and UCLA,
and I appreciated the fact that he threatened the scholarships
of the players, not not directly, but it's very angry
(17:39):
in his halftime interview with Wayne Cook from Newbury Park
and said new scholarship players, U see, La, you gotta
be ready to play football. And they came back against
President State because and that was yesterday's talk. Today, I
will do a USC dissertation and a recap of the season,
and I will I will blame who is to blame
(18:04):
the Cabal of the non blameless for USC football's lack
of competitive fire and inability to compete for championships. Really
since two thousand and eight, one person gets to blame, right.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
No, myriad people will be blamed. Clay Helton gets the blame.
He'll be in there.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
He deserves some of it. So we will discuss that
that's coming up in a five o'clock hour. We will
put the stake in USC season and then when they
play in the sun Ball, obviously I'll beside myself with
excitement because I am a Sun Bowl alum.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Will that be a family trip? Will not be going
to help passa No? No, we don't travel because we're
so dysfunctional. I thought maybe a couple of day trip
out there, show the kids like, this is where dad, Yeah,
this where Dad played.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
This is where Dad shaped it to ten against TCU
and the Sunball right here in this far end zone.
This is the closest one to Warez. The other one
is just just a little further from Warez. So we'll
have a USC recap. We'll have only Kate's cares. We'll
do the dead and a live guy birth. They other
day fun fact quick hits and all that, but the
(19:13):
key to the show is getting Blake smell on. In
the very next segment, do we have an update? We
have an update? Oh my god, what is it?
Speaker 2 (19:22):
I said, confirming still good for three point thirty? And
I got back, what's the phone number?
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Whoa horns? Great job, Kates. I bet you think you're
gonna get to ask all the questions because you got
him on the phone.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
I mean I think it'd be like a three to
one ratio. Maybe that's fine. You didn't do as many
as you want me. I'm not a covenous host. I
don't care about that. I'm not like Hartman.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Listen up, we do have a big event. Not tomorrow,
but the day after that, Thursday. Matt will be back
with his new eyes. He's gonna look like an owl.
That's gonna all of a sudden just look like ooh
like just like large marg eyes.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
You'll see those raffle Tic gets even better. He used
to hold him out like an old man does.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah. Oh, now he's gonna be He's gonna see him
like yeah, I used to hold him out as a
bad look. Three four four, that's not even a real number.
Thursday Matt and I will be sure. Matt and I
will be live at the Bjay's Restaurant in brew House
in Downy. If you're a Downy Viking and your ears
just perked up, yes, yes, California High School Condors, come on,
(20:35):
Warren Hide Bears. Let's do it great California High School.
Drop right there by the way.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Thank you. That was one Pete Columdia.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Will she be there? Alicia Devin might be there. Take
a picture a and I'm brown and brown. Somebody sent
me a text like, hey, you called. You said it
was Mexican in Downy. What about the Cubans and the Arabs?
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Look?
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Somebody texted me that it was Mexican Beverly Hills. That's
I was just reading the text. You want to leave
me alone. Everybody knows where the BJ's and down he is.
We've had great shows there. The last one we did well.
We need to redemption, We need a redemption song. So
hopefully that's what we get on Thursday. Tomorrow's shows just
(21:23):
three to six thirty. Is it before Clippers in there?
Four Clippers basketball? Yeah, we got Clippers tonight and then
the other little bit of housekeeping tonight Clippers Portland fully
functional employee Adham at six thirty. Tip off at seven thirty,
but tonight also tipping off at seventh Dowty and this
involves Tim Kates. Wow, this affects all of us.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Tonight, Ucla versus Washington tip off at seven thirty. Big
ten opener for UCLA to the very first big ten
game ever for UCLA and the very first big team
ten game ever for Washington.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Over under sixty five hundred at poly Pavilion tonight. I
really hope it's over.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Blake Snell, big U dub fan, that's right, should be
joining us next.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Hopefully he stays for the game tonight out of Pauli Pavilion.
He went to the Oregon Washington football game over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
He was at Austin Stadium over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Maybe he can stay and watch the game at Pauli
tonight and fight through the traffic back to the airport.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Blake Snell brand nude Dodger Pitcher was just introduced to
the international media at Dodger Stadium, sitting next to Boris,
flanked by Boris Friedman and Gohmer David Vassay. They laughed
him into the street when vas say they said they
should have signed Snell and now look he's a dodger.
(22:49):
The Petterson Money Show will continue on this to Edemano Tuesday,
and we'll talk to your new Edmano, your new Kunillo.
Blake Snell, Dodger, dominant left er, two times cy Young
Award winner, and he's got white teeth scrowging everybody. Welcome back.
(23:15):
The one and only Petro said Money shows on the
air on this Tired of the Lies Tuesday, told the
West Mendita best del Mundo. We just heard the Blake
Snell press conference over at Chavez Ravine. I thought David
Vassa was pretty respectfully waited like four questions untill he
got in there. You know you didn't want to flex that.
(23:37):
Snell is a faud fod friend of Dave and joining
us right now on this celebration day on your Southern
California Toyota Dealers Celebrity Hotline. It is two time Cy
Young Award winner, somebody that's been on the radar a
long time for our show, watching a Bitch against the
(24:00):
in the World series, watching him dominate with the podres.
The Great Blake Snell joins us after signing a five
year deal with the Dodgers wearing the number seven. What
a great press conference that we just listen to. Very
thoughtful in his questions and answers. Blake Snell, what's cracking? Blake?
Welcome to the show. How are you?
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Oh good? Appreciate you guys having me.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
We appreciate you. Just give us a little overview of
what this this situation has been like, so much different
than what you experienced last year, and just how it
feels going into Christmas and knowing exactly what you're going
to be doing.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Yeah, no, I can't wait. I think the biggest thing
for me is, you know, I got to go into
spring ready to go. I gotta have all those reps.
I gotta you know, do with my team and learn
from them and grow those relationships sooner than later. And
I get to you know, make mistakes in spring and
learn from them and get ready for season and learn
(25:01):
you know, my pitching reports, what I like, what I
don't like about each game, and being able to pitch
to Smith and Barnes and learn from them, and you know,
I think all that I really can't wait for. And
it's going to teach me a lot headed into the season.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Blake, You've played for two other teams in the NL West.
Why the Dodgers. Why sign with the Dodgers of free agency?
Speaker 3 (25:23):
I mean it's you know, they're the best and they're
gonna I want to know what they have to make
their players, you know, the best versions of themselves, and
I want to know how it can help me be better.
I think Kershaw being here is a huge thing for me.
Being able to learn from him, talk to him, that's something.
I mean, I'm really like a kid on Christmas about
(25:45):
I cannot wait for those conversations and being able to
talk to him NonStop. So there's a lot to be
excited about. The team's dominant. You got three Hall of
Famers at the top of the lineup. You've got a
starting rotation that looks to be very dominant. You got
a bullpen that just did what they did in the postseason.
There's just so much. And I really do like Will
(26:08):
and Boggs behind the plate from what I've seen, so
to be able to work on those those relationships as well,
it was very exciting. But the Dodgers are just really good.
And then Andrew Freeman, he drafted me, so when we
finally got to talk about free agency. We would books
very excited that the goals now are just gonna share
(26:28):
and see how long I can do dominant for.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Blake.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
After the Sea was over, Andrew Freeman told this that
in twenty twenty five, the roster would look different and
he'd bring in guys that were hungry, like guys a
year ago that were hungry to win a championship. How
hungry are you to win a World Series championship? You
came so close with Tampa in twenty twenty How hungry
are you? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I mean that's an ultimate team goal. So I really
can't wait. I've never won one. It's all I want,
It's all I think about, and they just did it,
so now we got to find a way to do
it again. I'm very excited to be on this team.
I mean, you gotta win a World Series. It's alway
thing I want to do is win a World Series
(27:11):
and then after that continue to repeat.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
It's snell Abration day. Snell Zella first person we ever
heard say that. David Vasse and people really use that.
The great Blake Snell out of Shoreline, Washington, joining us
right now on the Petrosen Money Show on AMPHI seventy
LA Sports your Home of the Dodgers. I think it's
really interesting, Blake, that you mentioned a couple times during
the Brett press conference and in our conversation here about
(27:38):
investing in people and creating relationships. Maybe when you were younger,
maybe you didn't have that perspective about teammates and relationships.
I don't know how have you learned that, because a
lot of businesses are about people, and sometimes it can
get away from us just to realize that it's just
about getting to know these people and doing your thing
(27:59):
with these people.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah, I mean, building a relationship builds comfort. Building comfort,
it allows you to really go all in and be
the best, the best version of you. When I was
when I was at Tampa, Kyle Snyder was such a big,
big person in my life that really helped me understand
what investing in people was. How I can get the
(28:22):
best out of myself by having to people around me
truly care about me because I truly care about them.
And uh, when when the game's all over and it's
all said and done, those are the relationships that you'll have.
It's not you know, baseball will go and it will
be done. And it's the relationships that will matter most.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Blake, what's your relationship will look like with guys like
a Clayton Kershaw, some of the veterans on this team
A show Hey Otani, who you've played against?
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Yeah, I'm excited to meet him. Both Kershaw for me
is oh, I can't wait. I'm beyond excited to talk
to him more. I talked to him, you know, as
an opponent, but to be teammates, to be able to
talk to him every day, to learn from, you know,
what he succeeded with, struggled with. To have a guy
that I can ask questions that has really been through
(29:11):
it all the highest highs of success, the lowest loads
of failure and continue to be dominant. I mean, I
think he's thirty two strikeouts the way from three thousand.
I get to see that live and I can't wait
for that. There's just so many things about him and
his career and to be able to have you know
him around and to ask questions and talk to and
(29:32):
then what'd you see with my game? What'd you like?
What didn't you like? What do you think I could
do to be better? Those are conversations I can't wait
to have. But I mean, that's really what I'm so
excited for that Blake.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
I mentioned it, you pinched. You pitch for the Padres,
you pitch for the Giant. You've been on the outside
looking in. Now that you're a Dodger. I'm curious what
is the perception of the Dodgers from other players around
baseball on other teams watching what they do and how
they do it.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Yeah, I don't know what their perception would be as teams.
You know, everyone knows Dodgers are a really good team.
But for me, it always excited me to play the Dodgers.
I want to play the best teams. It's all It's
all I want to do is is to play. You know,
you beat the best, they're lets you know you can
be the best. But I always look forward to facing
the Dodgers because I knew it would let me know
where I'm at, if I'm as good as I think
(30:22):
I am, or might even more work to do for
you know, if I'm dominating with this, how do I adjust?
How's my game plan? When you play the Dodgers, they're
they're always ahead of everybody, and analytics reports if it's
you know, figured out what signs when you are going
with fingers. Now that we have the uh what is
(30:42):
it the pitch, Colm, It's it's a lot different. But
I'm excited to know what they know and learn what
they've they've seen with me to make me better. So
there's there's a lot that's gonna take place.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Blake, Snyle, John and us. You know, I don't know
if you were in a speedboat, you know, like Miami
Vice when you were in Tampa, and I don't know
if you were like board shorts and walked around with
the tank top in San Diego and god knows, you
know what San Francisco was like these days there and
maybe you wore like a rain slicker or something. Uh,
do you have a thought about what you're going to
be like in Los Angeles? Like Hollywood? Snell is there,
(31:19):
you know, I mean those things that have had to
cross your mind, like you know where where you and
your family are going to live, and and you know,
because this is a wide city, there's all kinds of
different stuff here. You know, different identities you can have
in the Hollywood Hills. It's one thing. Down by the beach,
it's another. You know what, what what is La Snell
(31:39):
going to be?
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Like relaxed and That's where I'll be and uh, just
finding a way to be the best me to help
this team win my style cliche, But it's really all
I cared about is being the best version of me
helping this team win and and collect world serious championships.
So whatever I got to do to do that, that's
what I want to do, you know that. Yeah, it's
(32:03):
really all I care about.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
I did a little recon with the kJ R people
up in Seattle, the station up there, and You've been
good to those people, and they care about you up
in Seattle and proud of your history at Shorewood High
and all that stuff. I know you were in Nottson
Stadium the other day for Oregon Washington and U Dubbs
actually playing tonight against UCLA at poly Pavilion in basketball.
(32:29):
It feels like your identity is still very much wrapped
up in the Northwest, you know, even to your cool
sweater today, the pretty grunge rock. How much of your
identity is where you're from, because it feels like you've
taken that with you everywhere you've gone.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Yeah, that's everything, And you know, I'm from Washington and Shoreland,
like you said, but that's where my family is. And yeah,
we've been big Washington fans for since I was born.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
My dad.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
That's been this thing. So I'll be a you Dot
fan of my life and I'll take that wherever I
go for sure. But yeah, is a big piece of
my heart, and that's what my family's all right.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Well, David Vassy's gonna think he's your new family, so
be careful out there, Snell. He's got his chest out today.
Very excited you see him as here is he breathing
on your neck right now?
Speaker 3 (33:21):
No, we pushed him away. I don't know where he's got.
He might be an a vent somewhere.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Like John McClain and Diehard. Well, thank you so much, Blake,
and congratulations on all your success. Man. You're you're a
great young man to watch compete and very exciting not
just for the city but for all of us broadcast
types that you're here as a Dodger. Gonna be fun
to watch and perform.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Yeah, no, I appreciate it, looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Here he goes Blake Snell. Can you smell that?
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Snell?
Speaker 1 (33:51):
What a great guy. I'll tell you what that's I
love that guy. I used to all like him, but wow,
I have blown away.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
No. His his answer is very thoughtful, very I mean,
this is the guy is He said three times? I
think all I want to do is win. All I
want to do is stack champion.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Blake on Tim Kates and I'm the host of Moroco
Casino Dodgers on Deck. How hungry are you for a championship?
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Real hungry?
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Tim?
Speaker 4 (34:19):
I could eat a horse right now. I could eat
the butthole out of a cow.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
That is that how I sounded asking the question.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
I'm so hunger I could need a horse, a horse.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
I thought. Thought that went pretty well?
Speaker 1 (34:41):
How is the ballads thrown down the gauntlet? She says,
we gotta put fast on? What are we gonna put
vass a? How I'm gonna call Casey.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
I'll reach out to Dave. Dave's a very popular person
on this Tuesday after you're around a little TV.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
He without dollars canceled Dave. What, Yeah, Well, I said,
where are you gonna be at the four o'clock Howard?
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Dave's like happy, We'll check out with David at some point.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
How hungry are you?
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Blake?
Speaker 4 (35:10):
Oh? Did he right, O, right, you know what Fred
Flintstone only like Fred flint Stone Right now?
Speaker 2 (35:18):
You like to eat, don't you? Hey say, I'm pretty
hungry there, aren't you, big guy. We'll be right back.
That went well, I know it went great. Blake's now
we'll replay that. JR. Loves you?
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Oh shut up? What what if I had to talk?
Speaker 2 (35:34):
All right? Fine, Softie says hi.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
I didn't say that. Softie did tell me to say hi,
but I didn't do it. I didn't do it. That
would have been bitch made. But I mentioned kJ R.
I thought that was the right the line to walk.
It was you crossed the line, did I?
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (35:49):
How hungry are you? R?
Speaker 1 (36:00):
S cracking everybody and welcome back Petrosen Money. On two
Edamino Tuesday, we had Tim Katz's brother, Blake Snell found
out how hungry he was for championship in the very
last segment, it's a big triumph for us. On Blake's
snelebration day on the Petroson Money Show and your Dodger Station.
(36:22):
He chuckled when you said that c celebration. Yeah, hear
him chuckle. I came up without myself, did you?
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (36:29):
In my own mind, dry minded it too, no internet
porn or anything.
Speaker 2 (36:34):

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Then the serial texts A fine brought to you by
your sokel Toyota dealers.
Speaker 1 (37:27):

nice to the Blake Snell interview that Tim Kats and
I just did. Mattis out today. We'll be back on
together tomorrow starting at three o'clock, and don't forget Thursday.
We're going to be Jas House in Downy. You're expected
to be there, and that's a flex alert in Downy
at two o'clock black.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Alert.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Anyway, this is about Blake Snell and it says next
time Snell Zella bathes, he can skip his sack because
you and Tim Kates thoroughly washed them ball. We have
what he want us to do. He washed his balls,
(38:13):
of course we did.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Guy's one of the best pitchers in baseball. Now he's
worriing number seven in Dodger Blue.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Come on, is your belly empty? Or he got a
fire burning down there? Tim Kates did ask Blake Snell
very good question, how hungry? A great question, which was
how hungry? It sounded like, hey, Blake, how hungry are
you to win the World Series? And Blake was like,
I'll turn it out, Jim, I'm real, older brother, I'm real.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Wow man freaked out.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
First, Victor Brick gets a new ass, then Money gets
a new eyeball, and his Kate's gonna get a new
nose after sniffing all that coke up of Blake Snell's ass.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
The hookers going to this place right now.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Guys won a lot of individual awards. He's gotten very close.
I thought it was a good question, how hungry are you? Blake?
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Doesn't Gabe Kapler also have excessively white teeth? Yeah, but
I think that's more because he is an excessively fake tan, right.
Blake Snell was pale and his teeth were super white
like Ross from Friends. Oh, he was rocking the Pacific
Northwest tan today today? Yeah, I mean he looked like
Oliver the Green Arrow, very very northwestern.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
And I'm here for it. That's what the kids say.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
I'm here for this, Okay, I'm here for your hunger.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
Was he mid or what he was? Not mid?
Speaker 1 (39:44):
He was? He was Sigma skimmity toilet And we're not
gonna use stop texting butthhole eyes. Okay, we don't want snow.
We want to be We want to be Fosse friend
of Snell.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Those were in his younger days when he was up
late playing videos.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Game still looks pretty. It's well rested. Uh, this says
you tell those Cubanos to f off back to Florida.
Downey is well known that Downey is the Mexican Beverly Hills. Fool,
We'll be there on Thursday. Here they come coming to
be Jays. Please tell Petros that his rant about the
(40:24):
Michigan Ohio State game on Monday was absolutely spot on.
I had to listen to it twice. Pour me another
glass of that.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
I don't know that was I didn't prepare that, but
that was in the first segment of yesterday's.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
As you're talking about the flag planting, Yeah, you take
your flag?
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Like, all right, come on, guys, you ever been pepper
spray before? No?
Speaker 1 (40:48):
No, no, But now do I have to do it.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
I'm not gonna go to a Lesion park. I'm not
letting peppers bring me at the cop Academy.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
Okay. When that fight happened on Saturday and I saw
one guy go down to a knee, I'm like Dan,
that guy got sucker punchler hit with a helmet in
the head.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
You bitches are really washing up UCLA right now for
beating Fresno State by seven and home in front of
nine thousand Fresno fans and sixty tarps. Wow, you're a shill. No,
I'm not washing them up for that sixty tarps All
I'm just listen. All I'm saying was it was very
interesting to me that Deshaun Foster started the seat listen
(41:28):
to the segment a hole. Deshaun Foster started the season
out unable to speak at Big ten Media Day, frozen
like a frog in a flashlight and the Bayou you
don't have to play it. And then he was so
angry that they're losing a Fresno in an empty stadium
(41:50):
in front of sixty tarps. He was so angry that
they were losing the Fresno that he said, these are
scholarship players. And then I read it and it was
all mad and I was like, I'm glad he got angry.
And yeah, the team responded and yeah, they only won
five games, which is four more than I thought they
were gonna win. Okay, second down to nine, so that's
what I say, Yeah, second down at nine. But today,
(42:13):
at our next hour, we will have a much more
well rounded dissertation on the end of the USC football season.
How many turps do they have up there at the
Coliseum on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
More than I don't know. There's a lot of Notre
Dame people there, Notre Dames. Notre Dame is still the
number one brand in college football. You know that, right,
Is it really? Yes?
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Of course it is because the Catholics. Do you know
what the number two brand in all of college football is?
Speaker 2 (42:40):
SMU No, No, it's Texas. It's Texas.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Anyway, we'll be right back with more great sports.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
Talk, sports talk. Oh the number of the Day? Would you?
Speaker 1 (42:56):
Petros?
Speaker 2 (42:57):
You're making it like it's such a big deal. My
dead guy last week on Wednesday, Rave reviews people were right,
it was great, and I built it up because it
was hyped up a lot and it delivered. The number
of the day coming up in just a few minutes.
I'm telling you, do not go anywhere. It is gonna
live up to the hype. How hungry are you?
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Real hungry kids, I'm real hungry for that number of
the Day? Brother. I want that World's I want that
World Series rings so bad I could taste it, taste
it on the tip of my tog kites. I'm so hungry.
(43:37):
Have an direction,
