our second hour here and we will get to all
of the details surrounding the rest of the week and
play by play and everything we got going on and
the Dream Center where we'll be having a live appearance in.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Just a minute, and ourselves a special guest right now, Pete,
a very special guest joining us right now on your
Southern California Toyota Dealer celebrity hot line. He went to
Modern Day. I mean, he'd be perfect if he was
a Culver City centaur like his dad. But that's all right.
It's all right, Modern Day, big time school, modern high

(01:22):
school football. I understand the great Quinton Lake. We played
at Modern Day, U see LA in his third year
with the Rams, putting on a show last night in Arizona.
Great community feel outside of LA. Everybody feeling great. And
on a night that the Lakers lose, on a weekend
that the Chargers lose, the Rams get a victory and

(01:45):
make the people feel good. It is Quinton Lake joining
us on your Southern California celebrity Toyota Dealer hotline on
the petrols some money show. What's craging? Quentin? How are
you doing good? How are you guys? We're fabulous. Congratulations
first and foremost on the victory and tell us, uh,
you know how crazy of a week was? And I mean,
obviously it's a wild week that everybody's dealing with in LA,

(02:09):
depending on your proximity to the fires. Still, it's just
an awful week. But you guys having to move and
having to concentrate on a playoff game and then having
to prepare and go out there and play the way
you did has to be pretty gratifying. How wild was it? Yeah,
the week was wild.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Obviously, you know my prayers and you know it's how
it's go out to the families that were affected by
the fires. You know, hopefully everybody is you know safe
and has fined, has found a place where you know,
they can be in a safe environment and have the
supplies and resources they need. But over the course of
the week, you know, it was crazy. We were at practice,
I believe on you know, either Thursday or Friday, and

(02:46):
we could see another fire start and you know, to
see that it kind of takes you back and you're like, whoa,
you know, this is really something serious going on. You know,
shout out to you know, all the RAMS staff for
allowing us to go to Arizona and allowing our families
to travel with us. You know that was huge. And
also shout out to the Cardinals community and you know,

(03:06):
the Arizona Cardinals organization for allowing us to use their
facilities and their resources to make sure that you know,
we were okay and prepared for this upcoming game. But
you know, the fires were crazy. Obviously I was. My
family wasn't affected, and you know, for a majority, you know,
our whole team wasn't affected too much. I know some
players were pretty close, some coaches were pretty close, but

(03:28):
no one was directly affected.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
But yeah, get into the Quinn if you don't mind
the the Arizona side of things, because when we first heard,
we were like, wow, you know, Arizona kind of like
Minnesota and Chicago and that whole Midwest.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
They got a lot of houses there. Would would that
kind of affect the home field advantage, but it seemed
like they really did a good job of figuring out
how to work the tickets, all the in game presentation.
I mean just watching it on TV, it it looked
like a ram game.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, you know, shout out to all the fans that
were able to travel out. I know some of the
players helped out with getting buzz for fans to come
out and you know, support us. But I didn't even
know that a lot of retirees from Minnesota and from
the Midwest actually found their home base in Arizona. That's
something I found out the day of the game. So
when I when I walk out into the stadium, I
just see on their whole sideline, just a sea of

(04:16):
you know, purple. I'm like, dang, I didn't know that
many people were going to travel, you know, I thought
we did it. Even though we did a great job
with ticket sales and you know, making sure Rams fans
were there, it was still surprising to see that many
Vikings fans, but you know, the Rams fans showed out
and it was it was amazing to see how much
support we got.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
The Uh, there was so much made about that Week
eighteen game. You know, seating is on the line, and
your head coach was just I don't want to say defiant, defiant,
but he was just very you know, confident and and said,
this is our approach, this is how we're gonna do it.
You end up playing a competitive game that you end
up losing, and you slide to the four seat, kind
of give us an idea of what the feeling is
around the team. When when that's the message that that

(04:57):
he's putting out there, I'm assuming to you guys privately,
but so publicly, I.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Think the message was, you know, getting our guys rested
up and putting our best foot forward when you know,
when we need to. Obviously we had been decimated by
injuries early on in the season, but you know, we
had gained a lot of momentum with getting guys back healthy,
and for us, you know, we were gonna have to
play anybody, anybody anyways. You know, it didn't really matter

(05:22):
for seeding. We knew we were going to get into playoffs. Obviously,
that was something that we secured in Week sixteen before
our Week seventeen game, but we knew it was important
just to make sure that guys were healthy, guys were
ready to roll into our first game in the season.
And obviously, you know, coming out with the performance that
we had last night, that was definitely the right decision.

(05:44):
And you know, coach has the utmost faith and confidence
in us, and he really make sure that he's making
the right decision to put to put ourselves in the
best position to go out there and play fast, play free,
and play to the up most of our ability.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
The great Quentin Lake joining us right now. Not since
Jonathan Franklin, the mayor at at Dorsey High, have we
had a UCLA player who seems like he's so eloquent
that a political future could be in stall. Yeah, for Quentin,
he's got kind of a politician's name too, un Lake,
Carne Lake. You got Culver City right there, the Centaurs,
Let's go Quentin.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
You know, for you after all these years, it hadn't
been that long, but you're starting to become a real Vetanano.
How can you compare yourself when you were a rookie
to right now? You know, here in the playoffs three
years later, nine tackle performance last night? Looking back, how
does that make you feel?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, looking back at my rookie year, I would say
the biggest thing for me is I'm healthy. My rookie year,
I had a ton of injuries. You know, I was
struggling with him, both on the mental and physical aspect
of it. But you know, luckily I'm healthy right now.
I've been healthy really for the last two seasons, and
I think for me, that gives me a lot of

(07:02):
confidence obviously, and you guys probably know too. When your
physical health is kind of weary, you don't really you know,
it affects your mental health. And I think, you know,
I'm in a good spot. I've done a great job
of taking care of my body. And really, honestly, another
thing about it too is from the difference from my
rookie year to now is really being in the same

(07:22):
system for three years understanding you know, the play calling
and all those things. You know, there's certain nuances in
our defense. I think me being in this system for
three years now has really allowed me to play fast,
play free, and play.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Confident, is it?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I think to some people, just because they look at
numbers and how expensive, you know, Hey, this defense cost
X number dollars, I think the Rams might be one
of the least expensive defenses.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yeah, we're the least expensive defense of the loser.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
You see, you know it, you wear it like a
badge of hunter. Get twenty nine million bucks or something
is all they've spent on defense. So what's the what
that's the secret? What's Chris Shuley doing? Obviously last year
is Raheem Morris. Before that it was Brandon Staley. It's
kind of been a consistent theme here and a lot
of people pointed to Aaron Donald and Jalen Rams, but
that's not the case this year. So what is the secret?
What has led to you guys playing you know so

(08:14):
well as a unit despite like we, like you said,
it's the least expensive defense in the league.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, sometimes you know, when you have a lot of
young guys, you can have a lot of inexperience, and
those can cause you problems. You know, Luckily, we're we're
you know, I'm a part of a great defensive group,
a great defensive coaching staff where guys just buy in,
They buy into the plan early on in the week
and they execute it all the way up and even

(08:42):
into the game. And I think that's one thing that
has helped us a lot through really our last six games,
is just buying into the plan, making sure that on
all three levels of the ball, the front seven and
the back end, you know that guys are really understanding
their assignment, their alignment and the technique. You know, that's
something that that's a little acronym that I use that

(09:04):
allows me to help, but it's really you can see
it throughout the whole defense is guys are just doing
their job and they're doing it at a high level.
Nobody's trying to be a superman, nobody's trying to do
anything extra. Guys are just doing their job, and the
coaches do a great job of putting us in positions
to make plays within the defense, so you don't have
to go out there and do anything or make anything up.

(09:26):
The play opportunities are there within the defensive call. And
I think once, guys, and once we started to figure
that out really through the second half of the season,
that's when we started to gain a lot of this
defensive momentum, starting to make a lot of plays. And
obviously that's what you saw, you know last night too, Quentin.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
How different is Sean McVeigh in inside the building as
opposed to what he portrays with the media people like us?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
What would you say is different? Would you say anything different?
Let me ask you that, what would you say is different?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I don't know. I don't know what he's lack in
the building when we when we talked to so Polish
sounds very yeah, motivational speaker, like real like you know,
real rapid fire statements, you know, some acro acronym stuff
like that. Is he different or is he the same
guy in front of all the veterano's like.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
You, guys, Yeah, he's the same guy. He's the same guy.
He's one of the not only greatest coaches I've been around,
but greatest leaders of men. And I think you know,
when you get around a coach like that, you you
play for him because you don't want to let him down.
You know, there's a reason why he has had so
much success in the NFL why players come back and say, hey,

(10:38):
I love playing for coach McVeigh. You know, he gives
you the confidence and the willingness to go out there,
play fast, play physical, and play free. And yeah, he's
the same way. You know, he's not only is he
a great coach in terms of the schematics, but you
know he's a great human being. You know, wants to
get to know you, wants to get to know you know,
how you're doing outside of football, how your family is.

(11:00):
And for us as players, that's you know, that's critical
because you know, sometimes you have to really remind yourself
that you know, it's more than just a game. You know,
there's a life outside of the game. There's people that
look up to there's people that want to get to
know you, and you know, our coach being one of
those people that wants to get to know you is
you know, it makes us feel better as men, as fathers,

(11:23):
and you know as people in general.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Quin Lake is with us Rams get a big win
last night against the Vikings. They advanced to play the Eagles.
Now you face the Vikings in the regular season and
you handle them pretty darn well in the regular season game,
and then you know one up that in the playoffs.
Last night, the Eagles game didn't quite go that way.
What do you take away from that regular season meeting
and what you need to adjust and how you get

(11:46):
this winning advance to the NFC Championship.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yeah, the last time we played the Eagles is definitely
on the defensive side, wasn't our best performance, And I
would I would say it wasn't our best performance overall. Obviously,
there are a ton of things that we've looked at
on the film that can improve on. But we know,
you know, going into the game, who the highlighted players
players are that we have to eliminate. You know, they
have one of the best on lines, the best skill
and a very very very good quarterback that not only

(12:12):
can throw the ball but is mobile and I think
really for obviously, like you guys have seen from the
majority of this season, they've been rolling. And not to
mention obviously they have the probably the best running back
you know in the NFL. You look at that, you
see you know how they look on paper, and you
say how can we eliminate you know, the explosive plays

(12:34):
And it starts with you know number you know, twenty
six sake on Barkley, how can we eliminate his you know,
playmaker ability in the game? And I think, you know,
that's something that we were unfortunately couldn't do last game,
and we have to make it a focal point going
into this game of how can we eliminate you know,
his playmaking ability coming into the division around on Sunday,

(12:55):
how do you.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Uh, how do you feel about the push push thingy? Like,
is that something that they should kind of.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
You know, you know, luckily, luckily as a dB, you're
not really in that. You know that, you know all
that all those moments, so I don't really get too
much of you know, the No, I'm not in the.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Bottom of the get rid of it or is it okay?
They shouldn't ban it?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
I mean, if we can't stop the team from getting
one yard, then you know we we probably you know,
defensive coaches and coordinators you know there might be have
to dive into something to you know, just hey, this
is a anti tush push play, you know right here?
You know it? Is it unfortunate? Sometimes when you get
into situations like that, Yes, do you not want to

(13:43):
put yourself in third and short, fourth and short situations
against the team that has been successful with the tush push.
You don't want to, but you understand, you know the play.
We really understand the play that's coming, and you know
you do your best to try and stop it.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Try to understand the play, do your best to try
to stop it. That's some good defensive philosophy right there, Quentin.
Like Quentin, we appreciate you man, wonderful, wonderful sketching up
with you and talking about what you guys have accomplished
this year. You've done great things and you bounce back
two years in a row and you're carrying the torch
of the city of Los Angeles. Good luck to you

(14:19):
in Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Thank you guys so much. And shout out to all
the families that were affected by the fires you know,
hopefully you guys are safe. Shout out to all the
fire you know department people and all the the people
that are you know, risking their lives to help the
community of Los Angeles. We send our prayers and condolences
to you guys and making sure that you guys are safe, beautiful.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Very thoughtful. We appreciate you, Quentin. Good luck Manprechaid. You
gotta thank you so much, Quentinake. Come on, can you
hear that bong? That's Tim Kits on the freeway. This
guy's a great talker, blowing us up on the looks amazing.
That was great. I thought he was fantastic. I thought

(15:05):
he was I liked him better than you liked him.
I think I'm more excited than you are about Quinley.
I think that's a fair assessment. But I really enjoyed
that conversation. I'm well now that I enjoyed that. Come
now that you admitted that, I want you to be
more excited than me. I'm acting like I've been there before.
I was excited excited. I'm not overly enthusiastic regarding you know,

(15:32):
the rams moving on in the chargers do be in
the dust. If it makes the if it makes the
city feel great, then great. Wow. That's a great sacrifice
by you. I mean you really you know how to
sacrifice for the people. Man, that's great. I just hear
the modern day uzie out of the young man. Is

(15:57):
that a good thing used to be? I'll tell you
the modern day guys. Modern day guy as I played
with them, pretty different from the modern day guys you
see today a little bit. Quentin's amazing. We get it
to him. Yes, he's crushing it all right. We're trying

(16:21):
to do the interview. It's hard when the phones ask
him this. See if you can solve our political problem,
what would you do about the fire hydrant pressure. We'll
be back with the minor sports stories in Great Sports
Talk coming up Thig.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Thank you to Quentin Lake of the Rams. They advanced
to play the Eagles. That game will be on Sunday.

Clippers will host the Nets. We'll go until six thirty
and then Friday we'll have UCLA versus Iowa. That'll be
a two to five thirty show. Thursday full show. Dream

(17:07):
that's right, we're clipped on Thursday because we're going live
to the Dream Center, So a three to six show
instead of a three to seven show, and we will
be out of the Dream Center in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (17:15):

He was talkative, he was thoughtful, he was heartfelt. He
was modest, detailed thoughtful. That's what it takes to advance

(18:24):
in the playoffs. Right, detailed, thoughtful answers on detail orient
sports talk. Maybe you give something less desirable on great
sports talk and you don't find yourself moving on to
the next round. I don't know. I don't know. Follow

we will find out about that. No Dodger talk tonight.

(19:06):
That's why we put vass on in the three o'clock hour.
All right, We'll do a couple of minor sports stories.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Sports stories or great sports talk, follow up, follow up up.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yes, we talked yesterday Matt about the rekindled rivalry between
two of the most important figures in modern football eighty
eight year old Lou Holtz eighty eight the Gate eighty
eight and out the Gate Hall of Fame College and
one year as a pro football coach and Ryan Day

(19:41):
dread pirate of the high seas of the State of Ohio,
oh ioh We did so because m I Z z
O U did incite again. The oh is more is
a little bit more. We are Penn State, right, you

(20:02):
know that's kind of a thing. Z z ou. They
don't say it. Miss. Why did we talk about Lou
Holtz and Ryan Day, Well we did so because in
six days, on Monday night, while Matt and I have
a full show of great Sports Talk, Great Sports Talk,
Ohio State and Lou Holtz's old team, Notre Dame, we'll

(20:26):
be doing battle for the first twelve team playoff national title.
A big ass game. And for me, I don't know.
I just can't get it out of my head. It's
just an excuse to play this SoundBite from last year
when Ohio State and Notre Dame played. Here's Ryan Day

(20:47):
angry as hell after winning because of something, and then
eighty seven year old man said on television.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Toughness, toughness, that's it, physicality across the board, finish it off,
have guts.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
No.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
I like to know where Lou Holtz is right now,
a sleep he said about our team? What he said
about our team. I cannot believe. This is a tough
team right here. We're proud to be from Ohio. It's
always met Ohio against the world. Continue to the Ohio
against the world.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
But I'll tell you what, I love those kids who
got a tough team. I think the message he was
trying to get across was that they were tough and
then they were going to be out physical Ohio against
the world. Right, they weren't going to be out physical
again by Michigan at the end of the year, even
though they were. They Yes, but that didn't happen this

(21:37):
year when Ohio State was is and was the most
talented teams in football in Michigan had one of their
worst teams in the last three or four years. That
didn't happen though, Yet tough team happened again, happened again.
But Ohio State is right there on the precipice of
greatness and they are favored by like eight points to
win this one against Notre Dame. Anyway, yesterday the Ryan

(22:00):
story was Furthered. We did a little bit more because
there was more there confirming that he has never spoken
to or patch things up with lou Holtz since then.
His words when he asked if he talked to lou
Holtz were no, no, no. You said a two word answer.

(22:22):
It was one twice. Why don't people trust the government, Matt,
I don't know. I don't know why today Matt we
furthered that's what you can do the virtual background again,
I am Are you sure about that? Yes, I'm sure.
Today we furthered the story of Ryan Day and Lou

(22:43):
Holtz Matt by looking in the past. Lou Holtz was
not always the coach at Notre Dame. In fact, he
was a coach all over. He was a head coach
at NC State. He did one year for the Jets, Arkansas, Minnesota,
Notre Dame. His last job South Carolina brought the Cox

(23:04):
back to a bowl with a white running back.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
I like to know where Lou Holtz is right now.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Asleep, but leisure world. His first head coaching job was
at Virginia's William and Mary. And it's an interesting story.
And this is coming up again because you know lou
Holtz called Ryan Day soft. Ryan Day still not over it.
He wants to beat him up like they beat up

(23:29):
mister Potter in that alternate ending of It's a Wonderful
Life on SNL. I want to know where he is.
I hold them where Lou Holtz is right now, probably
in bed with a seat pap on. I don't know.
Why do you want to know where louis? Who got
a tough team? Okay, In nineteen seventy, a long time ago,
Lou Holtz's second year at William and Mary, he played

(23:51):
a game in Morgantown against former PMS guest God Rest
his Soul, Bobby Bowden's West Virginia team. Bobby Bowden's West
Virginia team defeated Lou Holtz's William and Mary team forty
two to seven.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Lou Holtz, not happy with the score being run up,
confronted Bobby about that, where Bobby b famously replied to
Lou Holtz that Lou would have had a closer game
if he had more Williams and less Mary's. Lou was

(24:33):
but hurt because his family and friends are all from
West Virginia. Because Lou Holtz is from West Virginia. I'm
from West Virginia just like Nick Saban. And he said, Bobby,
we're friends. Why did you run up the score like that?
And Bobby delivered his famous line about you need more
Williams and less Mary's. So Lou Holtz, you know he's

(24:57):
only been in uh you know that one time a
guy stole his hat. He got super mad. He did,
he got riled up with Bobby b and now he
is in the thick of it, blow by blow with
Ryan Day Blackbeard, pirate of Ohio State University football. Now,
I like to know where Lou Holtz is. Right now,
this is going to endear me to the people of Ohio.

(25:19):
I'll attack Lou Holtz. It's what's been Ohio against the world? Huh?
When does it always been Ohio against the world?

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Never?

Speaker 1 (25:27):
When?

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (25:27):
When's the last Guess when he socked that guy? Was
that Ohio against the world. I think some people like that,
We're like, you know what, I stopped that guy from
running down the sideline? What? Uh?

Speaker 2 (25:37):
When's the last time we saw Lou? It's been a while, right, Like,
there have not been any public of Lou Holt's public
appearances as of late.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Have there.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
I've seen him in like a box on a TV
doing any interviews.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Well, I mean, why is this? I mean, well, here's
why I'm asking, Well, you know why Notre Dame's playing
Ohio State. I don't know. I'm saying, when's the last
time that we It's been a while. Do you think
Ryan Dad buried Lou Holtz? I don't want to see
like a Jimmy Carter photo of Lou Holtz like as
they're celebrating a National championship, Like, I'm hoping that's not
the case. Jimmy Carter was voting, he was very lucid

(26:11):
when he voted, couldn't wait to get out there. And
when I saw it, I'm just saying, I'm hoping that
Lou is you know, I think you would assume that
we would have seen him plenty out this If Notre
Dame's in the National Championship this week, I hope I
like to know where Lou Holtz is right now. I

(26:31):
hope he's doing okay, Ryan. He's very old, you know, yeah,
eighty eight. Bill McCartney just died. Yeah, you know, the
old Colorado famous coach. Right, we haven't seen much of
him in the last seven eight yet. Why why not
every old coach Lou not shy on the camera, right, No,
not camera shy. So Notre Dame in the National Championship.

(26:53):
Not every old coach can put on that sweet straw Fodora,
that blazer and that beautiful two tone button down with
the white collar and the blue stripes. Very strong like Schnellenberger,
all right, at the age of one hundred and coach
fau to a five hundred season. Not everybody can do that.
It's not easy.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
I Di's the point I'm making is just if, in fact,
that's the current state of health for eighty eight year
old Lou Holtz.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
I don't know where he is right now. I'd rather
send dialysis. I'd rather see the photo like I'd rather
I'd rather just hear hey coach is excited last year
when he did that interview. I mean I would say,
I would venture to say Lou Holtz has it more
together than Lee Corso on air. Right now, I'm gonna
say that right now, I'm gonna throw down the gauntlet.

(27:41):
I think that's probably fair, and I also think that
was unnecessary. I just don't think what I really don't
think you needed to do. I did what I did.
He is beloved. I'm not saying I'm just look at
the back football studio show location, Sam Accho and uh
and Joey Galloway. I missed the day's mark Man Lou Holtz.
Sure they were better TV. You know, we didn't know

(28:04):
what we had. That's a straw man argument. No one's
pushing back. We didn't know what we had. No one's
pushing back on that. We all. I hate Mark May.
Yes he's not likable, but it's way better than what
we have now. It's very that's very true. Thank you.
I got another story, Matt, big update. Although Mark May
and Lou Holtz ain't ever getting Timothy Schalla May on

(28:24):
that set, so you know you got to weigh that. Well,
that's the studio. No, that's that's game day versus studio.
Now in apples to old apples, I have apples to oranges.
You're going, you're talking acho versus May. I'm talking to
anybody versus may Holts. May Holts was a great do
it he slat up May, hold on, let me put
on my glasses. How should we make my point? I

(28:46):
played it, pitt, you respect me? Shot up? We got
another one one.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
More sports stories or great sports talk.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
A bit that's a RT you a real time update.
Copy that. I just got a text on a secret
text also from the chairman of the board, tex Fine,
brought to you by your so called Toyota dealers. We
make it easy spite Ronnie's best efforts. I got a
text that says this, I've been officially dismissed from jewry duty.

(29:26):
Service fulfilled to my room, and it looks like Ronnie
made it over to Philip's on Alameda. Ron Mac salader
is a potato salad going there that looks like a
potato salad. And the purple egg and okay, the purple eg.

(29:50):
I was at Philip's last week and saw our big
Scandinavian lady took a picture of her and put it
on Instagram. And I saw a guy I and the
purple eggs. I said, don't it's good egg. Don't be
scared of that purple That's a good egg. But Roddy's
back tomorrow. Not pictured a piece of chocolate pie burning daylight.

(30:14):
I pa look good for running Schnellenberger one hundred years old,
smoking that pipe, coaching his asshole. Good jeans man, good jeans.
All right, Matt, those are your minor sports stories and

(30:35):
great sports talk, and we'll have more, sir.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
This case is going to be centered on a fraudulent
representation at Low's Home Goods and Services. I would just
love to do you feel as though you may have
any conflict, Well, it.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Depends what location are we talking about it. You can
with some radio clips over the years, and they have
a personal relationship with this individual lou Halt is still
doing hits on Fox News, Fox and Friends, Fox Fam
Uh right, he's working, Okay, he's doing good. I hope
he shows up and beats Ryan. Wouldn't it be sweet

(31:11):
if lou Holtz just drop kicked Ryan Day. Honestly, I'd
take Lou Holtz in a fight over Ryan Day. Lou
Holtz beat Ryan Day's ass. Ryan Day does not look
you see Ryan Day when he tried to like act
all hard in front of the Michigan game when they
got punked and he was like trying to jump around
and push players, and the guys are like, get away
from me, black Beard. Like a Joe Cap situation. I
just thought, whack. Yeah, Now Joe Cap versus Lou Holtz

(31:35):
that's over in one one tenth of one second is
pretty fiery little an Yeah, big big gentleman though. Joe Cap, Yeah,
he's not messing around. No. Santa Clarita's fine list, finest
bust you outside the head with that cane, disemboweled him
with a cane. More great sports talk to come. We

(31:58):
still gotta do word number song. Yeah, we still have
Word number song. We have reaction to what's been going
down in the town. It's going down. Tim Kates is
back from Spectrum Sporting now with his shirt tails. I
was just gonna say, he untucked the shirt tails, he
took off the tie. He's got the top button undone. Yeah,
the dingling. He's got his fresh haircut. You know, Matt,

(32:23):
Not everybody can be Schnellenberger. Look at him, Matt, that's
a face of football stash pipe. I want to know
where Lou Holtz is right now, big square head. Well,
right now, lewis scheduled for a sponge bath coach shouting
the toilet. Ultimately, that's where we'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (32:54):

LA Sports dot com keyword donate to help monetarily, or

(33:16):

downtown LA personally and maybe you can do it Thursday.
Come check out the show from three to six pm.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Why not? Why not? Say yes? Tim Kaits has produced
a lot of shows, Uh Kimmy Taints and he is
back from Spectrum Sports Net. You can see him tonight.
He's producer Buck shows. I'll see if Baseball nine everybody
was JMK Tim? How hot was the Sasaki talk?

Speaker 6 (33:48):
A lot of Sasaki talk, guys.

Speaker 7 (33:50):
Everybody's waiting for him to make a decision between now
or excuse me, tomorrow in the twenty third so we'll
find out, hopefully sooner rather than later, if he's gonna
be a Dodger. A lot of speculation to the Padres
and making a late run on him. What was your
hot talk? My hot take was that the Dodgers are
that closing lawyer in the courtroom where they get the

(34:10):
final say and they get the final talk with Sasaki
and they get to tell him how great it is
in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Closing argument.

Speaker 7 (34:17):
Yeah, closing arguments with the Dodgers. That's a check for them.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Did I that?

Speaker 7 (34:23):
By the way, I'll be on the night Sports and
LA with myself, John Hartong and.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
JP Hornstraw. Wo oh, Kate's gonna be like al Pacino
and Injustice for All with Hornstraw out there. JP. Hornstraw
is the guy who had the erroneous report. And this
is very very prevalent because uh the Sasaki Japanese player

(34:53):
flirting with CANADAO and Ornstra is the guy. Did he
acknowledge the did you put his feet to the fire
when he said did he say that Matt Smith hates him?
Did he say Matt hates me? I don't hate him.
I don't even know do the interpretation of him Matt,
but ship, I don't know how he would think that
you hate him. I hate him. It's just the way

(35:15):
he sounds in my head. But it's chip okay, I
hate everything.

Speaker 6 (35:19):
That's kind of the way. That's how it sounded when
he does what happened? Nothing happened.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
He didn't say anything to you. He didn't look at
you and say, like, I know it was you, Kate.
You broke my heart. You laughed when they made the
jokes about me. No, you laughed. We were cool.

Speaker 7 (35:34):
He didn't say he didn't say anything about Petroski. Hartong
did say to say hello to you guys. He's a
while JP was sitting there. No, we were waiting for
Jabe what happened. We were waiting for him to kind
of makeup before we started doing the show.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Like, I don't know if people out there know how
much we hate them all. If we don't hate any well, me,
I hate everybody. That's not true. I'm well documented that
I despise everybody and everything. Do you think people know that, Kate?

Speaker 7 (35:59):
I think they have an idea. Yeah, yeah, if they
don't hear directly. I know people hear from other people like,
hey man, they don't talk about you well in the radio,
like they say stuff about you.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
That's right. That's why Geter lives in fear every stupid
thing that comes out of his mouth. We're gonna hold
him accountable. That's why Pete Carroll threw a phone at
Vess and so you can have those clubs nail your
balls to a two by four.

Speaker 7 (36:17):
Geeter has the biggest rabbit ears out of anybody. He
hears everything.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Well you know why, because he's not from the South
Bay what and he's walking around on eggshells waiting to
be outed for somebody to call him out and say, hey,
guess what does he have to. Does he have to
live in the valley from the valley, he lives in
the South I'm just saying, I had a secret meeting
the other day. Live in the South Bay. I had
a secret meeting the other day with somebody who's close

(36:42):
with Geeter, who is a South Bay legend. And the
guy said to me, you know, he's not even from
the South Bay. I say, you don't say, go yeah,
that guy's from the valley and he hates when people
bring it up. And I said, that's right, Poor Geeter,
Poor Geeter, he's got he's living a lie out there, peril,
the bettim of his best life, his South Bay life

(37:04):
with the team Fletch and the Sixth Man and all
of the fancy stuff he's got going on a bunch
of posers. If you are to believe Geter, it's because
his friend group is such a dedicated Petros and Money
show listening audience that they routinely text him immediately when
his name comes up, which is happening, that's right, now,
Geter's like, now he's like, what's his name in Sliver?

(37:24):
With all the TV's Liver reference like Baldwin and Sliver,
He's got all the TVs. He's monitoring everybody. Can't wait
for somebody to say his name, you know, but I
just wanted to thanks left for us. That's Hornstraw.

Speaker 6 (37:39):
I couldn't help but have your voice in my head.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
He sounds like that.

Speaker 6 (37:42):
I'm sitting right next to him.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Does he sound like that at all?

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Right, he's got a delivery like a guy that drives
a bookmobile who you know, like he just a great
book he gets, you know, and it's like, dude, it's baity,
come on man, but ship he's so so where I
hate everybody, you know, just just switch you to do
this business, you just gotta sometimes go with it, you know.
I just ran with it and I thought sense them,
just let me down.

Speaker 7 (38:06):
If you guys want to diverse them from all the
fires sports in an l A Access Sports and that
Dodgers tonight, he'll be on all night repeating.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
Well, you know, we've been flipping through the channels all
show long, and CBS out they went to Judge Judy.
NBC was running like a under the guise of a
you know, personal interest piece, running like a twenty minute
commercial for wildfire Buster sprinkler systems. I mean, it's getting

(38:35):
thin out there, Kate's I think you may have a
I think you may have a shot.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
People want to hear about Sasaki from JP.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
Do we need an open for Sasaki?

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Watch? Oh not everybody, you watch your mouth. Geter. We're
listening to what you say.

Speaker 6 (38:56):
Hey, Kate, just geter? Did Petro some Matt say something
about me today?

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Syllable? We're gonna pick it a park eater. The people
in the South Bay are they're wives to you?

Speaker 5 (39:06):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (39:06):
You know that guy's not from here?

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (39:08):
I heard that? Oh for real? Do you think it's
good for him to support the surf club even though
he's from a valley? Or that guy went to Cresby.
You don't know what it's like to go tover Dondo High.
How does he even how does he even let him
in here? You know I heard something about that. That
guy's not even from here. It's a phony. He hates

(39:31):
it when you bring it up. Hey, weren't you? Did you? Crespy?

Speaker 4 (39:34):
No?

Speaker 1 (39:34):
You know, technically I've been here for like thirty years. See,
I just ask him to show you his north Ridge
volleyball tattoo. It's a good tattoo, thinks sweet, Oh, it's
an anklet. Come on, we'll be right back. So what
you did back then, you got an anklet, never a word.

Speaker 6 (39:48):
