Thinking down the Green, Petros andMoney trosen money, dumbass, dumbass.
Oh oh, and I got tolisten to this show. Bleepole, bleebole,

(00:54):
let her let her fate's arrow whenexpect did travels slow going out?
Vic I trust some Money five seventyat A Sports Live everywhere on the iHeart
Radio app. Hit that follow buttonon the app get the latest notifications.
We got Dodgers baseball tonight, thirdand final game of the series, ninth

(01:15):
and final game of their road trip, live from the Gallpin Motors Broadcast booth,
A first pitch at six forty pm, Dodgers on deck at five thirty.
We also got Clippers MAVs coming upon AM eleven fifty the pivotal Game
five and a two to two Tideseries between those two squads will tip off
at seven pm. That's right,Matt, and we're happy to be with

(01:36):
you. There was an earthquake earlier. I believe Vic predicted the the UH
readings at a four point seven,so we got that going for us or
a four point three. And didyou feel it? Matt felt it cool,
and I felt it had no ideait even happened. Yeah, we're

(02:00):
two and broiled too, and broiledin great sports talk, great sports talk,
and we're happy to be with you. Tomorrow will be a full show.
But today is what it is becausethe Dodgers are in Arizona, and
much to match chagrin, he doesnot like it when the game start at
six forty, six forty five everydamn night. Now, if it didn't

(02:24):
affect our schedule, would you care? No, Okay, so you don't
care. You really don't have thegames. It's not that they choose to
start at six forty or six fortyfive. It's that somehow fifteen minutes.
And it's not about our added program. That's not it at all. It's
about the show before us losing anhour, knowing how much they like that

(02:46):
they lose an hour. Why doesfifteen minutes translate into an hour? Exactly?
Question? How does that happen?Well? For me? It's like
the quote fates arrow when expected travelslow, and there's no doubt that it
does. We talked to James Worthy, we talked to David Vasse already,

(03:06):
and we have to go back tothat David Vasse. Yeah, conversation with
the flip top story of the day. I'll put you out, I will
put you out. This is theflip top story of the day. Now,
Matt, we are lucky because wehave not been affected by the delays.

(03:28):
The five delays that the Dodgers haveendured this season. I believe I
believe one of them was a crossbowarrow to Keats's groin where he had That
might have been the There was onein Saint Louis on the thirtieth. Was
that the one case? Thirty fiveminutes? That wasn't that bad? That?
Then there was the two and ahalf two hour, fifty one minute

(03:52):
Cubs reigned delay on a Sunday onthe seventh. Yeah, that was that
was it. That's what led tothe seed addiction. That was that was
a kick to the groin. Yeah, that starts crossbow, and then the
San Diego two hour, fourteen minuterain delay before first pitch on the thirteenth,
and then another thirty nine minutes inSan Diego on the fourteenth, and

(04:13):
then or against San Diego at DodgerStadium, which is very rare, and
then last night our fifty five delaybecause of the b Bees. Yeah,
and everybody had the bee leave it, and you know all that stuff.
And of course you knew that Roganand Rodney we're gonna get the Bee guy
on. It would almost be ofreal disappointment if they didn't. But the

(04:38):
real undercover hero of last night's coveragebecause Tim Kates got out of the building
the second he saw that club ofbees. He dove out of the window.
Sorry, I'm gone, guys,it's a rough day. David Vass
was the true hero because David Vassdoing his phil shucking and jiving, doing

(04:59):
his dance like he's on the sidestreets of the quarter and the backstreets.
Getting change involved Tim Neffett to callsome play by play Kevin Harlan style on
the B Suck. And this wasa very underrated moment from last night and
it must be revisited. The scissorlift is going up. Looks like it's
going to reach too, which wasthat's a good thing, sir. And

(05:21):
yeah, it's going up the scissorlift with an orange bucket and the gray
crisscross that. Yeah, that's whatI'm talking about. Net Rick, give
us that play by play, allright. The bee keeper's on his knees.
He's pulling on the rubber gloves. He's got the beekeeper's top and the
head gear on as well, andhe is preparing whatever it is he has

(05:46):
to prepare. There's a vacuum thatis on top of the bucket as well.
He's got some other devices and nowhe's got a garbage bag that he
is opening up. What do youbelieve he's hitting with runners in scoring position?
To him, I think I don'tknow. Well, we're gonna find
out in the second, but he'sprobably about a two to eighty eight hitter

(06:09):
with runners in scoring positions. Butit looks like there's gonna be some spray
put on the bee hiveh First,he's standing up. He's got a bucket
attached to a hose and a dispenser, and now he's spraying the entire hives,
doing some research during this long delay. Dave. Yeah, found out
that when bees are in a swarmlike this, they're at their least dangerous

(06:32):
point because they're very Oh okay,so right now I would say the beekeeper
has the advantage. All right.I like that. Good be knowledge right
there, Tim Neverett. That's whywe needed you here to give us the
words I view on what's taking place. Oh, the vacuum's out. Never
it. The vacuum is now niceda he can pushed us in one vacuum
shot here we will see. Therewere a few few stragglers hanging around,

(06:57):
but he's trying to get them allin humanly. Put them into a bucket.
That's what the garbage bag was for. He put it in a put
it around a little bucket, andthey're they'll empty out the vacuum, I
guess in there and then go somewhereand let these bees go. Yeah,
where do you think we should releasethese bees? Do you feel like Eric
Carross's room is a good spot oryou know, I know you're very fond
of Monday. You don't want towish that on him. No, okay,

(07:21):
I think that's the consensus at thispoint in time. These are native
Bees, and he lives here,So I'm going to yourself. Hey,
serious question here, Tim Neverick. If you had to guess, do you
believe this game is played tonight ordo you believe the Diamondbacks went out because
of their pitching situation. I'm Ithink we're gonna play. I do.

(07:45):
I mean, I think the perspective, he's kind of off there. The
whole delay was getting him here andhaving a qualified specialist. But he's got
the bulk of the the hive offright now. He's just working on the
details around the guy wire on topand the guide wire that goes up to
the press box to support it.But I do think we're gonna play.

(08:07):
I think, uh, we mightbe in line for a start maybe a
half hour from now, But thatmeans no Jordan Montgomery for the Diamondbacks,
so I have a depleted starting staffmore than likely, I would say more
than likely that's the case. Andwe don't know what the situation will be
with the Dodgers. Will land inthat goal or won't he My guess is
he'll They'll probably try to get himto go. He seems like a type

(08:28):
of guy that won't be affected bythis. No, No, and if
you've ever had a conversation with Day, he's not affected by much. He's
He's an interesting kid who doesn't bet. That was That's the most underrated part
of the bee Keeping night. RickMonday's sitting there stoic thinking about that car
company he used to advertise with us. Oh, and where's his plain park?

(08:50):
I mean they're in Arizona Edmunds. Can I get to Oh? Yeah,
Edmunds was the Edmunds dot com where'shis plane park? Leave Goodyear?
If I had to get like,I need to get to my plane now.
But that was really really impressive byDavid Vasse to pull that out of
the play by play man and reallyget that bee keeper vibe going for our

(09:15):
radio listeners that could not see thebees on the TV because obviously it's an
audio medium. So kudos to Dave. Give me that words I view.
We all come on, we complimentDave all the time. Kudos to Dave,
And I gotta say that that mademe like Tim Neverrett. I mean
it's yeah, pulling along and havinga good time and not taking himself too

(09:37):
seriously, no doubt, and almostimpossible, Matt for you and I to
like Tim Neverett more than we alreadydo. We love to but that that
made me wanna. That made mewant to maybe purchase COVID Curveball. How
about the use of the word guidewire, well, the guide wire up
and the go down, humanly removing, humanely remove straggler bees, just docile

(10:03):
wonderfully Don Now, if I may, I don't want to try to take
the high ground here, guys, but I'd rather you did it, Anakin.
I feel like one of us wouldhave mentioned it, so just let
it be me as great as Timwas. It does, however, remind
us that we wish is speedy recoveryto Charlie, oh, can we miss

(10:24):
him in the booth, no doubt, Because as good of a friend as
Tim never it is to our show, Charlie Steiner, he is the bestist.
He is like like if we're comedians, Charlie is Don Rickles or Jerry
Seinfeld, like he is a godto us, He's our north star.

(10:46):
A he ate out the gate,Matt. That's what I wanted to do
when I found out he wasn't goingto be ready to start the season this
year because of a broken back. Now there is joy in Mudville. Can
I just throw this out real quick. There will be when he returns.
If the Dodgers went to championship andTim Neverett writes another great book like you
did the first time around? Couldhe call it? Oh behave How the

(11:07):
Dodgers stunned the Yankees, Like howthe like powers reference, yes, just
got nice, Like how the Padrestried to ride the goose. Right,
let's go goose. Remember that thatthe goose helped them beat the Dodgers.
The goose showed up and they werelike, let's go goose. Maybe the
Dodgers can ride the bees to stingthe Yankees. The killer bees holding down

(11:30):
the honeycomb right right, exactly right. So maybe the Dodgers will ride the
bee like a blind melon did toa number one this year. We'll see.
We can only hope. May itbe a harbinger of great success in
the near and distant future. Well, that Lebron news is still hot news.
Uh, and by news, Ijust meet us talking about Lebron saying

(11:54):
don't bring them back. It's gonnakeep happening. We got more of that
coming up next, Petrick, somebodyshowing Empire seventy l A Sports. We're
done at five point thirty. Thanksfor listening, everybody. Petros and Money,
happy to be with you. You'rehome of show. Hey o Tani
and the Dodgers on this What amI going to do with this guy?
Wednesday? Also Clippers MAVs tonight onAM eleven fifty. A lot of action

(12:20):
because that's what we're about. We'reall about that action, boss, And
don't forget to follow us on Twitterat Matt money Smith on there with a
lot of charger content. It's upthere at Tim Kaits at the Old p
and at Petros and Money and evenat Ronnie Fossil on Twitter. But right
now it's time for the top storyof today, Tom story of this,

(12:45):
so I keep it going. Ido believe there is a parallel with the
two biggest names off the field inall of sports right now. There is
certainly a serious difference difference is betweenthe pair. But well, if there's
not a parallel, it's not goingto be because you don't try your ass
off to make it. I'm tryingto straighten those lines. I am trying

(13:07):
to get them parallel. Do notlet those streams cross. As this is
Vermont and this is Western they're parallel. So you've discussed earlier Deon Sanders in
the news for all the wrong reasons, trading kids like garbage, running a
grift the line of his pockets, his kids pockets, laying waste to everything
in his path in order to doit. Because the Buffs were a college

(13:30):
football team in disarray and serving upsevere disappointment to their legions of fans.
They no, they're not. It'sall straightened. He's great. They sold
out the celebrity. The celebrity camein, took over, changed the locks,
and stole everything. It appears asthough enough of us have been yelling

(13:52):
from our roofs loud enough that manyin the mainstream media over the last twenty
four hours have decided to join uswhen it comes to lebron and is having
infiltrated and infected the Lakers like adisease. You and me have a disease.
You affect the Lakers, and thataffects us. You took over that

(14:15):
sickly body, just like Dion tookover the sickly buff. You're right,
that buff was threadbare and beaten andrabid, and Dion came in there and
they had an off season party ina great September. It's a hell of
a September. I mean it reallywas. Yes, it was. Wake
me up when September ends, though, That's what I like to say in
this case, just let me sleepso I don't have to see what it's

(14:39):
become. It's been said and writtena number of different ways, but whatever
term or word you choose to startthe message with, it is the same,
be it desperation, difficult circumstances,or adversity. When you follow it
up with make strange bedfellows, youget the point. Desperation, make strange

(15:00):
bedfellows. Now they can maybe seethat with Colorado and Dione, I don't
think any team would consider itself astrange bedfellow. For Lebron James in twenty
eighteen, when the Lakers signed him, he was still very much the leader
of the conversation as the best playerin the NBA and potentially the greatest to
have ever played the sport. StephCurry, Kawhi, Leonard Kevin Durant were

(15:24):
making their own claims with NBA titlesyoung up and comers Joel embiid Giannis,
but the general sentiment in twenty eighteenwas, Oh, yeah, he's old.
And he's played a long time. But Lebron is still probably the best
player in the league, and everysingle franchise as it seemed apparent he was
going to leave Cleveland, was liningup in the hopes that he would choose

(15:48):
them. His addition to the Lakersis not necessarily what I'm protesting back in
twenty eighteen, the offseason and whatthey were facing. It's the state that
they were in and the executives intheir employ that made the decision. I
believe I was not present when MagicJohnson parked his car outside of a Brentwood

(16:10):
home that was so scandalously vandalized atone point to make the pitch to Lebron
as to why he should choose theLakers. I am saying it is my
belief that he was pitched a certainway. I do believe it, even
though I don't know for sure, and this is all just, you know,
speculation, because five consecutive years ofmissing the playoffs and posting a losing

(16:34):
record'll do that. The Lakers hadnever experienced a stretch in their storied history
like they had from twenty thirteen untiltwenty eighteen, which over those five seasons
they had never finished better than twelvegames under five hundred. They were desperate,
and we kept saying it over andover, and we keep saying it
over and over. Desperation is asticky perfume. The desperation led to the

(17:00):
free agent signing of arguably the greatestplayer in the NBA, and an individual
that had already had a long historyover fifteen years of not just playing inspiring,
jaw dropping unlike anything we had everseen from any individual before and likely
we'll never see again performances on thebasketball court. But there was another track

(17:22):
record. There was a track recordthat came along with it, and it
was demands and it was control, and it was the idea that he could
overtake billion dollar franchises as a player, and that was also unlike anything we
had ever seen before. Yeah, players play coach, coach, owner's own.
It always kind of but we wereon the cusp of player empowerment,

(17:45):
where we were on the cusp ofendorsement deals and player salaries that were pushing
these individuals into the hundreds and hundredsof millions of dollars of net worth and
in the case of Lebron sniffing abillion dollars of network and look, Hall
of Fame players have gotten coaches fired. Magic got West, had fired Michael

(18:07):
Jordan, Doug Collins, Shaquille O'Neal, stan Van Gundy to master a panic
that's not new. Yeah, that'show Look, the players have forced franchises
to make trades and to pick players. Michael Jordan forced the Bulls to draft
Jason Caffey when they wanted Michael Finley. Shaq pushed for Eddie Jones to be
traded because he wanted Glenn Rice. That happens, But and Shack also got

(18:30):
Del Harris fired and demanded Phil Jacksoncome in. And I think that's one
of the reasons why when Doctor Bussmade that decision in two thousand and four,
even though Shaq was still clearly oneof the most dominant forces in Basketball's
like, eh, I don't knowif I want to keep dealing with this
guy, Fire this coach, tradefor this player. I want more control,
I'm not. I think that's abig part of it. You don't

(18:52):
want a player running the franchise.Shaq had centralized too much and was trying
to exert it over a locker room. He was driving a wedge between another
superstar player with other guys, andas talented as he was, just got
to be too much. Players cankick and scream and let it be known
that they want certain things. Wecertainly remember it when Kobe came on the
radio show and was trash in thefront office because he thought they weren't doing

(19:17):
enough to help him win another championship. It's a bad look. That was
very bad. But he still wentout, played his ass off and made
his way toward the trade deadline, wondering whether or not he would be moved,
and instead they brought in Pau Gasoland three trips to the finals with
consecutive championships later cemented his position asone of the all time great Lakers in
the history of the franchise. Andwe heard these stories in Miami and why

(19:40):
Lebron James probably went back to Clevelandjust requesting seats on the team charter for
his entourage, insisting clients to ClutchSports, beside his free agents to giant
deals that were outside or well abovetheir market rate to prop up his totally
conflict of interest business. An agencythat represents NBA players and the latest one

(20:02):
if he manages it, will bethe coup de gras if by some inexplicable
reason, the Lakers not only handhim his three year, one hundred and
sixty two million dollar extension, butalso draft Bronni James with their first round
pick. They do have a secondround, or it's forty eighth if they're
willing to use that on Bronnie toplease the the self proclaimed King, fine,

(20:26):
whatever, it's forty eighth pick. You know, you take flyers on
international guys and stash him for afew years. You get a two way
player, or you get someone that'splayed a ton in college and you think
maybe has a very particular skill setyou might be able to use ten days
here, ten days, they're fine. Now, there are obviously success stories
that come from the second round, obviously the greatest example Nikola Jokic. So

(20:47):
you got to be careful just writingthose things off. But whatever, you
know, you want to do thatat forty eight. But if they take
him at seventeen because they worry hewill not get to forty eight, or
if they trade seventeen and moved backto later in the first round because they
know nobody's taken him in the firstround to pick Brownie to appease this disease

(21:12):
that has taken over this struggling andin ill health franchise when he arrived.
Sweet Jesus, it is all bornfrom that half decade of ineptitude and failure
at the hands of incompetent people coachingthe team Byron Scott, incompetent people making

(21:36):
decisions in their front office, particularlythe disaster drafts and trades Muscala and free
agent signings of Magic Johnson. LukeWalton is no longer a coach in the
NBA, nor is Byron Scott. They were both a disaster and set this
franchise on a course to where wehave ended up now. Those post Kobe

(22:02):
Bryant retirement failures led to Jeanie Bussand Tim Harris to really just toss the
keys to guys. They knew thisis not what they're doing with Lebron James
is not new. They flipped thekeys to Luke Walton because they liked Luke
Walton. Hey, whatever, youknow what, he's assistant coach on Golden
State. We really love Luke. He's a great dude, and we really

(22:22):
don't know anybody else, so let'smake him the head coach. Well,
it's a family run place, andthey're just not the same. They're just
not they're not run the same sincethe old man died, exactly right,
and now that the decades have kindof rolled past and we see what this
Lebron James situation has manifested itself into, it's kind of hard to deny that
the leadership on the Lakers has probablyfailed the fan base by selling the team

(22:47):
to Lebron. Yeah, that's exactlyright. That's the exact point is that
this is a an ownership group thatsadly does not seemingly want to own,
does not want to run things,is more content with friends coaching like Byron
Scott and Luke Walton, or runningthe franchise like Magic Johnson and Shadow Shadow

(23:12):
Shadow owner Linda Rambis and still tothis day, Rob Polinka, who is
just a friend, zero front officeexperience, but was Kobe's agent, had
a relationship with the team. Hey, you come in and do it.
And now they are content to justlet Lebron run it something pat Riley was

(23:32):
not willing to do, something thata hole Dan Gilbert was not willing to
do. No, we will notadhere to your every wish and whim.
Sorry, it doesn't work that way, and he was gone. So the
only hope is is that maybe, somehow, some way a voice can arrive
in Genie, the governor of theLakers ear and say not like this.

(23:56):
Do you deserve better than this. You don't need to give him that.
Tell him to opt in or tellhim to opt out, and let him
walk. There is no reason toflip him this franchise for the next three
years and hurt Plashki. It's afata complete I I say to that.
There has been pushback. We saidto Bill, you're the voice. You're

(24:19):
the one that has to keep writing, keep pushing. We'll keep pushing here
and may snarky cartoons on TikTok andnational embraced debate shows. Take him on
for what he's done over his sixyears here, and that is very little.
Ronnie, my son, I onlyhave one or two years left.

(24:41):
My final wish is to play withyou by my side in the league.
I'm doing my best, Papa.I'm changing schools now so I can get
more touches. There's no time Ineed you now. But I'm not good
enough, Papa. You don't haveto be You're my son. Okay.
The James name, proud avenge me, Brunnie avenge me, Papaul, poo
poo doctor do something. There's nothingwrong with him, he's just being dramatic,

(25:03):
like always, wake up. Itold you to stop doing that.
Brilliant More of those, please,Papa Papaul. Well, good luck to
everybody involved. We talked to Worthyabout it and this will be another Instagram
superstar hit. Getting aff from theBronze Alf. We'll be right back with

(25:26):
your dead and a live guy Birthdayof the Day on The Petrosen Money Show.
Thanks for listening, everybody, Petrosand Money happy to be with you
on this week. Just won't bedefeated. Wednesday, we got this segment
and one more big one and thenwe will have Dodgers at Arizona and Clippers

(25:48):

(26:08):
Matt we'll be back on at fullstrength three to seven, not a
flex no time off for the showbefore us. Instead a Petros and Money
time slot in its entirety, followedby a Friday show that goes from three
to six, and then next weekthanks a lot, guys, San Francisco,
back to the two to five thirtychili short, Matt. We have

(26:33):
to honor the first Lady of radiotoday for your dead guy birthday of the
day. We've done her before, not in that way it you know,
you know that's got us in troubleyesterday with our boss reeling in. I
mean they never listened to our show. Why why? Why? Yeah,

(26:57):
they listened every day. We wouldbe reprimanded every day. So whatever day
they listen, we've been told thatwe pushed it a little too full,
No, Matt, but that Idid. I pushed it. It's you
should have never asked him to stayfor the number. Oh it's my fault,
hundred percent. The first Lady ofRadio, Matt Kate Smith, would

(27:22):
have been one hundred and thirty oneyears old today, the songbird of the
South from Greenville, Virginia. Herfather a DC newspaper owner. She was
not a verbal child could not speakeverybody, but much like the King's speech,
she could sing it even better thancalling Firth. By eight, she

(27:45):
was singing in the World War Onetraining camps for soldiers. She hit the
theater scene at nineteen and was buildas wang in the neighborhood of two hundred
pounds. Oh boy, you knowthis ain't little pipsqueak. Areona Grande weighing

(28:06):
eighty five pounds, singing like acanary? Matt, she's got that funny
voice, though. This is asubstantial woman, as a woman who could
line up in a three point standsup against Jerry Ball and have a chance.
Now we're talking the radio popularity inthe thirties cannot be over emphasized.
Matt, looks like you and Iat Brew Rex and Anna Slime were very

(28:32):
popular there. She was as popularin this entire country. She worked radio
for all of the big dogs,ABC, CBS, AT NBC and Nasty
NAT's Soul Patrol on Kday over night, Dad, I was waiting to hear

(28:52):
she did Nasty Nat. I saw, I thought I recognized that name right
right after Charlie Parker out. Shedid music and talk shows until about nineteen
sixty She started a real patriotic feverduring World War Two, and they say
she's a big part of the saleof six hundred million, which is twelve

(29:15):
point four billion dollars today in warbonds to finance the war. It's Kate
Smith who made God Bless America very, very famous. She was a huge
advertiser, Matt, much like thePetrosen Money Show. There she goes,

(29:37):
Oh, that's a good that's agood husky voice. There, look at
that. He thought, Yeah,Kate God through the line with the line
from the from the mind to theFRISD. Why oh that's for you,

(30:04):
Matt. And you're you're serving youbeautiful. She advertised for Student Baker Jello
and Diamond Crystal Salt. Holy hell, if we could get that trifecta right.
She did some good TV in fiftiesdespite her Gilbert Brown like physical build.

(30:25):
She died at seventy nine in Raleigh, North Carolina. The two biggest
songs we played, God Bless Americaand when the Moon Goes over the Mountain,
Well you're a live guy, Johnmotherf and Woo Bitches Happy seventy eighth
woo Oh the dead guy totally outweighshim. Oh, no doubt, he

(30:45):
got one leg shorter than the other. Loose some weight there. Hong Kong
Filmmaking Royalty. Three films that setthe tone for American action cinema to shift
big, get uber, violent, make what we thought were the bad guys
into good guys. That's all whoChai Yung Fat, that was his guy,

(31:07):
kind of like an Elton John BernieTaupin Sexy jan Wu Chaw Yung Fat
started with a Killer in eighty nine, followed by Bullet in the Head in
ninety and his masterpiece Hard Boiled inninety two. The La Times review following
Hard Boil's release read, with HardBoiled, jan Wu shows himself to be
the best director of contemporary action filmsanywhere, and that led to his coming

(31:34):
over here and taking on the blockbusteraction film industry, of which he was
asked by the studio execs in Hollywood. Born in Guangzhou during the Chinese Civil
War, fled Chairman Mao's Iron Fistbecause of his family's Protestant Christian beliefs.
They settled in Hong Kong. Hegrew up in the slums before the family

(31:57):
was actually homeless for a while becausethey're probably Jack Tusing burnt Down had a
serious back issue when he was sick, surgery to correct it, and he
couldn't walk until he was eight.Grew up tough, tough conditions, wanted
to be a Christian minister. Heloved American Westerns, and as he got
older he loved Bob Dylan. Buthe chased that Hollywood dream and got in

(32:21):
on the ground floor coffee sweeping upon the set at Cafe Studios, and
