I did not find this kind of weird when I
was digging around for fun facts from our conversation yesterday
in the top store. Sorry about Decorate, the male cosmetic
company that sho Heel Tani endorses. Did you know South

(04:08):
Korean men, despite numbering just twenty five million and even
less than that for this particular segment of the consumer population,
accounts for over fifteen percent of the global sales in
men's cosmetics, over a billion and a half dollars.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Yeah, most men? You know?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
South Korean men? Beautiful skin? Now it all makes sense.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
I couldn't believe the softness of their skin.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Thirteen billion dollar men's cosmetic market and a billion and
a half of it is in South Korea.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
You know, Matt, you have a fun fact and I
have a text also for that.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
Okay, texts A fine brought to you by your so
called Toyota dealers.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
We make it easy, Hey, Pete podcasting yesterday's show Matey's
hatred for Derek Carr has gone too far? How can
he bring up an athlete being the perfect spokesperson for
a male cosmetics company and not mentioned Carr? How you
gonna be John Beard? You ain't got no beard. Time
for quickts? Everybody some bms, quick hits.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
I'll make it quick, y'all.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Yeah. First and Foremost is a follow up to the
flip top story of the Day. Lou Holts has posted
a prediction on the Notre Dame Ohio State game, which
is basically all about him versus dread pirate Ryan Day
of the High Seas of o hi Ol and Lou

(05:42):
Holtz has has posted a video, so let's check in.
Let's check in with coach and here what he.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Asked when the Rakings first came out one through twelve,
I started picking out who I thought would win each
and every game. I'm happy to say if we entered
the championship game. I have not been wrong yet, and
that's unusual for me because those are the lower third
of my high school class. But the fact is I
thought to go two best teams that would meet looking

(06:10):
at the bracketing with Ohio State in Notre Dame, this
should be a classic matchup, and it's for the national championship.
One thing, for sure, to finish second in the country
is not a great accomplishment. Trust me, finished second quite often. However,
a couple of weeks later you look back and say, boy,
what a great accomplishment we had to finish second. But

(06:34):
the night of the championship there will only be one winner.
The best football team in the country is Ohigh State.
They have a great coaching staff. I figure defense coordinators outstanding,
tipical is dot a good job off and coach Dade
does not get the credit he should deserve tremendous accomplishments
he's had. However, they have the highest pride in I L.

(06:57):
They have a great team, They're very talented on offense
and defense. The list goes on and on. But I
believe the University Notre Dame will prevail in this foot Yeah.
Not because we have the best football team. I think
we have the best culture. Culture will beat talent each
and every time. I think that Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
All right, how much longer does it go?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
There's three and a half more minutes worth listening to
give us a little bit more.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Great quarterback, great receivers. But if we have their have
them sitting on the bench, they can't do much damage
to it. How do we have that happen? We got
to be able to run the football. The old cheer
first and ten do it again has great meeting in
this football game. Notre Dame just has to be very
very patient, play their own game and don't try to

(07:46):
impress anybody. Let's just get a first in tent. Next
thing you know, you'll be in the fourth quarter, there'll
be a very close game.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
And that's when Ryan days butthole gets super tight.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Yeah tough that he.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Can't handle it, man, he can't handle it.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
It's so tight. So that's the latest there, get big
update there.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
That's good. Uh, it looks like he's doing great. Eight
years Oldly of that eighty eight minute video still inside
the gate, Joey Mudville. The international signing period is open, Matt. Now, well,
we talked about it earlier.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, on to baseball, meaning Japanese right hander Roki Sasaki
is free to sign with a team. That door is
wide open now. Twenty three year old right hander has
reportedly narrowed his choice to the Dodgers, the Padres Who
and the Blue Jays. What this is what we said yesterday. Yes,

(08:44):
Dodgers reportedly have three point six million in money to
offer Sasaki.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
With ten million dollars in men's cosmetics, which seems low. Well,
the match you can offer is going to be five
million bucks if you or I think maybe it's like
six point three million is the entire international bonus pre.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Mean, you know what I'm saying though, Like just for
people that don't, you know, follow the ins and outs
of the contract rigamarole of baseball, which is always interesting
when you see guys get paid like thirty million dollars
to pitch like two pitches every four or five months. Uh,
three and three and a half million dollars or a

(09:25):
little more than that for a guy we've been talking
about for months and months. Feels low.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Why he's so valuable and he's going to be under
team control for six years, so you're never going to
pay him an exorbitant sum for the majority from age
twenty three through age twenty nine. Quite remarkable, and all
those other teams that aren't one of those final three
are still smarting from their exclusion to get a guy
that talented at a cost that low.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Can we get back to lou Holtz. I'd like to
hear what coach.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Holtz whe's yet, Now when are we talking we under the.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Last stage nine used to being in a real close
football game. It is Notre Dame is and I think
if Notre Dame will just stay with their belief, they
will find a way to win. We can run the football.
I think Love is outstanding. Our quarterback has been brilliant
as a runner, and the list goes on on. We
have a great offensive line, but we have the best

(10:19):
defense in the country. Ohias State has a great defense also,
but I don't think it's as good as the University
of Their Dame. Our secondary is absolutely outstanding. I would
say to each chairs secondary player, the receivers from Ohio
State are going to go very high.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Don't do it, Matt.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Every pro team is going to look at this fail now.
If you want to help yourself in the draft, you
get in there and do what your film. You learn
everything you can about to receive it, and you have
a chance to help yourself better than draft.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
All right, that's what you want to do, guys, put
it on what coach on?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Hold? The Lakers are twenty and seventeen. They lost three
in a row. Homi Hawk has Junior in the heat
tonight at the Crypto, and Kates's still smarting. Speaking of
still smarting, Matt not getting Heimi hawkas on yesterday.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, I retired as jersey at Camarillo. Thought we'd be
able to celebrate the young man in his outstanding high
school career. Talk a little Mick Cronin, who's embattled right now.
Maybe get himI to back him up. Help out our
guy a little bit for sure.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
You know, Matt, there's some NFL talk to me hand.
Why don't you take it? Oh, take it away with
my stakes?

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Thanks a lot. Divisional round kicksoff Saturday, the Texans advanced
out of that wild card game and they will play
in Kansas City against the Chiefs, followed by Commanders at Lions.
Both of those games will be right here on a
five to seventy LA Sports, So it'll start at one
thirty with Chiefs Texans, and the following will be Jaden
Daniels and the Commanders. The Great Cinderella Story of the

(11:50):
twenty twenty four season, taken on the Great Cinderella story
of the last few years. Dan Campbell's Lions trying to win,
their first ever trying to appear and their first ever
Super Bowl. Sunday, it's Rams and Eagles. Who's house, Well,
it's that guy that was calling that lady the Seaward
and then getting fired from his jobs.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
House.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, in Philadelphia, sacked. Philly's a six point home favorite.
Last game Ravens Bills, the only one that the odds
makers think is going to be close. That's just a
one point and it's a road favorite. One point favorite
for the Baltimore Ravens. Expecting temperatures to be near zero
at kickoff and a forty percent chance of snow, so
they're gonna have a pretty cool bit of football weather

(12:32):
out there in Buffalo. Why don't you take to Kelly
Stafford story. I'd like to check on with coach Holtz.
Somebody more important than Kelly's.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Challenge your defensive back. But let's just get a first
and ten and the main thing about this. I think
a coach Marcus Freeman understands as well. He doesn't need
any help from me or anybody else. He's a great coach.
He's at a tremendous job. He loves Notre Dame, and
Notre Dame loves Marcus Freeman. Yeah, so let's not win
the game. Let's make sure that we don't. Why does

(13:01):
Penn State have difficulty winning a real close game because
they try to win it and they end up beating themselves.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yeah, we're wolts right now. We just beat accurate. All right,
all right, I'll tell you about Kelly step tell me. Uh.
The wife of the Rams quarterback Matt Matt Stafford went
on her podcast this week said she felt massive guilt

(13:29):
bringing her sick children to board the La Rama Leamma
Ding Dong charter flight to Phoenix for the game versus
the Vikings on Monday night. It's almost like she couldn't
fly out of Burbank or.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
It's a long flight. That's a long flight. You go
Burbank Phoenix. You're talking about door to door maybe two hours.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Stafford kids were sick. Why do we need to know that?
Because Kelly has a podcast. But she brought him on
a team plane, uh, knowing the players had a big
important playoff game and had to play and couldn't afford
to get sick. She did it anyway, And here's what
she had to say, She's so cool. We were sick
on that flight.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
And there was a huge guilt factor to me, going,
should we be on this plane right now because of
everyone surrounding us and everyone who has to play this game?
And you know, I reached out to multiple get your
ass on that plane. No one is gonna bee. We
all need to be together. And that was such an
incredible thing for me to hear because there was a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Of like, should I just stay back my children? I can't.
And then again Matthew was like.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
No, we're we do whatever it takes.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
We're getting one. I love uncomfortable situations.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
I can't do. I just have to do our job.
Can't do it? Pull yourself together, MA do it.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
And then again Matthew is like, no, like you're getting
we are. We will do whatever it takes. But we
are all getting on this plane. We're going to be
together right now.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
And so I have this incredible feeling of guilt. This
is my truth and I didn't know. What's the pending's like,
you get your ass on that plane. I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
I don't care how much money she's people listen to
this thing. I don't know. I don't care. I think
people just clip it like like us, and they make
fun of her. I think that's why it exists. I
don't care. Honestly, I don't care. How I don't care
that thing makes. I have three words for you, Kelly Stafford.
Quit your job, quit your cheese.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
This tremendous sense of guilt.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
God, and I got to clean my palate. Give me
some new Holtz, give me some holds I want to
hear from coach.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
And they end up beating themselves and has on a
regular basis. So let's just go player game. Understand it's
going go down for sixteen minutes. Let's not look at
this score.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Is going to be.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Let's play the best we can play it for We'll
have one another and that is the key in this
football game. If Notre Dame will play this for each
other as a.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Team, That's how I do the show. The show.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Marry for another way to win, so you remember me.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
That's why we're gonna We're gonna hold it tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
A great game.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Everybody's gonna be talking about us in our moves. Jim
Harbaugh held this press conference today with the media. Here's
part of that, rought to you by vawwel and Instant
oil Change home of the fifteen Minute Oil Change. No
appointment needed with locations throughout southern California. Find the location
near you at so caloil Change dot com. And Matt,
don't you interrupt this in the middle like you did,

(16:25):
Delli Stafford.

Speaker 6 (16:26):
We didn't achieve ultimate success. That's reserved for the world champion. Yeah,
there is a uh, there's an after game after lost
mood that that I feel, but so much good, so
much good to build on that creates a lot of

(16:48):
excitement for me and Jel as we build version two
point zero. I think the thing that this stands out
the most is that the player effort UH and commitment
was at elite excellent. So I'm most excited about that.

(17:09):
I mean, I would say an un unmitigated success in
the area of player commitment and UH and and and
dedication and effort and also next coaching staff, I give
give a lot of credit because I can't really think
of one player on the team that that didn't improve improve,

(17:35):
So uh yeah, a lot of good, good good.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
To improve on.

Speaker 6 (17:41):
And for me, you know, it's a it's a memory
of incredible moments, uh, you know, throughout the throughout the season.
And I would just tie that back to the to
the players, the and we said competitors welcome, and you know,
watch them the way they responded to challenges, any challenge,

(18:06):
new challenge, you know, was was was at the elite level,
in the commitment at the leader level. So uh yeah,
a lot of a lot of just as we sit
here today, you know, just every every every win, every improvement,

(18:26):
you know, we build on, build build, build better, better
better for version two point.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
H why was this your favorite team? What was it
about that?

Speaker 6 (18:41):
Yeah, it would just the the like I said, the moments,
you know, and there'd be there'd be a you know,
a thousand there would be a thousand moments that you know,
we're we're just incredible. And you know, we year around
guys that that love football, that love competing.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
And and also you know, I'm talking about the coaches,
I'm talking about the staff, I'm talking about the entire organization.
Incredible moments from the from the fan base. You know,
the moments of walking around town and getting the getting
the bolt up, just all those all those incredible moments

(19:30):
had it up. It is And I'm not saying as
good as any team I've ever been on.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
This was.

Speaker 6 (19:37):
This was the best ball team I've been a part of.
And I don't want to Bill Bill Bilt better better,
better to make the twenty five team my favorite ball team.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Happy for coach, take care of that heart. He was
walking with a serious hitching his giddy up all season long.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
I didn't notice.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
So hopefully he's feeling great, running up and down the sidelines,
catching them pact, getting under center, and training camp really
moving his body around next year.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Kate, So are we not able to finish? Did we
already exhaust all of our lou Holtz sound for the chance?

Speaker 4 (20:11):
So you thanks for watching me over all these l weeks.
I've been right so far. I hope I'm right this time.
But people think I'm in Toyohia State. Nothing can be
further from the truth. I was raised in the state
of Ohio. I went to college at Kent State and
Ohio our motto we can't read, we can't write, but
we are Kent State. I coached the Ohio State Underwood.

(20:33):
He aged we won the National JUGIP. There's no coach
has had a greater influence on my philosophy. So I
love Ohio State. It's just that they have a statue
of Notre Dame. Notre Dame is a very special place
long time. Remember, ma'am, we're Notre Dame. And they ain't

(20:54):
now use the word ain't for emphasis, not to demonstrate
the caliber of education I received at Kent State University.
So thank you for watching me. Let's hope I'm right.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
It's you gotta finish it, coach. It's we can't read,
we can't write, We're Kent State. We just fight it
just stopped with we are Kent State.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
You're gonna sit there and question Lou Holtz.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
We can't read, we can't write, we're Kent State.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Hey, look, you're from that area, Matt, you're you're from
that area. There's no statue you outside there.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
It's right there on our right. We can't read, we
can't ride, we're Kent State.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
And I say eight to make a point of emphasis,
not to point out the level of education that I
got for state. Tiger Woods is about Uh asked about
his upcoming Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club. He, along
with golfer Max Homa from Valencia High School Let's Go Vikings,

(21:54):
are both from southern California, hence the Valencia High Let's
Go Vikings. Here's Tiger about the fires and the golf
tournament's scheduled next month in the palace.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
Well, it's just said, I mean, I, Max and I
have grown up there were we're SoCal kids. And to
see what has happened, I mean, I've I've known a
couple of people that have lost everything.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
So it's just hard.

Speaker 7 (22:19):
And as far as the Genesis, you know, we're trying
to just figure everything out and make sure that everyone's
safe and we have meetings schedule going forward, but as
of right now, we're not really focused on the tournament.
It's more about what we can do to help, you know,
everyone who's who's struggling and who's lost homes and have

(22:41):
their lives changed.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Well, you know that's good that they you know, because
you'd think that you know, he was thinking about, you know,
when he lost his leg. We'll be back tomorrow at
three o'clock. We'll be live from the Dream Center. If
you want to come and help, come and help, you
want to come and donate, you can do that too.
But we'll have the show and it'll be on AMPHI
seventy and it'll be on iHeart for you to listen to,

(23:04):
and we will do a show. And don't forget. We
can't read, we can't write, where can't stay? Coming up
next to the line, there's that clippers Nett
