Well to mark our July fourth week in America's two
hundred and forty ninth birthday. Did you know the Liberty
Bell rang on July eighth not July fourth. It was
sounded to mark the first public reading of the Declaration
of Independence, not the day that it was signed.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
When did it crack like an ass?
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I believe December. I believe July seventh. I think there
was a rogue. They want to I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Quick hits everybody, some toms quick hits.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I'll make it quick, y'all.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Yeah, tonight, I'm living in a fantasy Dodgers tonight all
about Kershawn and reaching three thousand strikeouts. He's three shy
of reaching the milestone. You might be in line at
barbecues galore when he reaches it. Oh, you're getting your
ten percent off of the Big Green Egg. You can
listen on the iHeartRadio app. He will become just the
(03:22):
twentieth pitcher in the history of baseball to reach three
thousand strikeouts. Matt with an insightful top story of the
day about it Yes last hour. Currently, there are two
other active pitchers with over three thousand strikeouts, Justin verland
Or Old verr and Max Scherzer old full body soreness fatigue.
(03:43):
Will Kershaw be the last pitcher to reach three thousand strikeouts? Currently,
Chris Sale of the Braves has two thousand, five hundred
and twenty.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Eight and he's thirty six.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
He'd have to have one hundred strikeouts for another four
plus seasons to get to three thousand.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
So so likely likely that Kershaw is the last.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
Unless, like you said, Matt Greenkey comes back. It gets
us last twenty something.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
You don't want the last twenty one. Strive got snoop,
I'm good guy. You threw you know, two hundred innings
last year. I know, okay.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Kareem said, you know, if somebody broke us record when
he was younger, he would have come back scoring more.
The Angels have made it to five letter. They're turning
the AI West exciting team, gave it a half back
of the wild card spot.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
In the a L. So they're playing meaningful baseball.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Come on, guys, get to the good stuff. Let's get
it all right, let's get it going.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
There's a couple folks to take pictures with, and the
people from Angel City FC.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
I just need you to put a pep in their step.
They've been working so hard, clicking that mouse, clicking a mouse,
clicking a mouse, clicking a mouse, voting for these Dodgers.
Minute in minute out and we're almost at the finish
line and a Petro's pep talk could really get them going. Now,
get out out there, pee, you clown.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
I went up there, Bosson, you weren't there. You were
at the McCormick and Schmicks.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Don't clown around, and hey, don't take any of those
sandwiches either, Papa Vegas. All right, those are for the people.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
Paint your face like a clown, because you are speaking
of clowns.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Old Mike Brown not clowning around in New York City.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
He's already been fired. I saw tweet for the twenty
twenty six seas.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
They are going to eat him alive in New York.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Mike Brown who was fired by the Lakers for going
zero to four in the pre season.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yes, Maagrick Johnson called for his head because of how
poorly they were performing in the preseason.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
I think he got fired by the sack Town Kings.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Hired by the ten games into the year.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Cleveland Calves, right, he got fired.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
He's an assistant coach with the Spurs and Warriors, so
he has that.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Popovich five who are you dig?
Speaker 6 (05:55):
And Calves Lakers Kings. He's been fired from all three
and he'll be fired from this job too.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
No doubt.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
But you know what, good for you, Mike Brown, take
the money and run.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
So Mike, congratulations on getting hired by the Lakers. Getting
settled in yep. Already about a house, is that right?
Where'd you buy it? Anaheim Hills? I'm sorry, Anaheim Hills.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
I remember the story was if Mike Brown has a
house in Anaheim Hills and he's got a big aquarium.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yes, love aquarium and a basketball court. My kids are
gonna go. You know you have to drive to El
Segundo every day, right, Yeah, I'm sure we'll figure it out. Okay, Well,
good luck with that straight shot right down the ninety
one straight shot.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Well, people are acting like the Lakers side Moses Malone
and Tim Duncan and Kareem abdul Jabbar all wrapped into
one incredibly old looking Greg Odin type guy named DeAndre
Ayton out of Arizona Bear.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Now, yeah, look, this is JJ Reddick, who It would
seem like the attitude of DeAndre Ayton and the disposition
of JJ Redick would be a horrible match, considering what
has dogged him thus far in his career. He's incredibly talented.
Anybody that watched him play at Arizona had no thought
who the number one pick in the draft was going
to be. He was a complete and total dominant force
(07:14):
for the Wildcats and then he got to the league
and look, they had the one great year in Phoenix
where they made a run to the finals, and for
whatever reason, he's just not been able to keep his
heat on straight.
Speaker 6 (07:26):
Well, one thing here in LA that is not going
to hinder him like it did in Portland is icy street.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yes, he literally missed a game because he said he
could not drive on an icy street.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Unless he's up in Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear. I
think we're going to be okay when it comes to
the ice.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
The look, the numbers are pretty impressive. He's a double
double guy for his career, fourteen and a half points,
ten rebounds, couple assists. He's got a pretty solid efficiency rating.
But again, the frustration and Chauncey Billips seems to be
a coach that a lot of freaking players really really like,
and this guy and he could not get along. So
(08:02):
that's another red flag, and that's how you end up
getting a former number one overall pick that was on
a max deal but was waved on a pretty good discount.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Dame Lillard is generating a lot of interest from teams.
Oh God, make it's Tom.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
I can't take more of this free agency.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
LeVar Ball is currently more mobile than Dave Millard, but
still he's getting a lot of interest.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
The thirty four year.
Speaker 6 (08:25):
Old will miss most of the upcoming season recovering and
rehabbing from a torn left achilles tendon, but that hasn't
stopped the Lakers, the Warriors, and the Celtics from reaching
out to Dave Lillard. And that would be quite an
upgrade from the Portland and Milwaukee that he's been.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Still stealing.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
Thoughts and prayers for acrobat Wrong to you? Oh no, yes,
Red Panda, she went down. She fell down. She's getting
old and she went down right on her face. Seven
foot unicycle so she rides. She began her half time
plate performance at the w NBA Commissioner's Cup Championship game
(09:05):
last night in Minneapolis.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
How desperate are you read?
Speaker 6 (09:07):
The children were there to show love you. Was helped
off the court and take her to the local hospital.
She's been at it since ninety three.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
It might be time to hang up the unicycle.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Well, it's only been thirty two years, you know, still
got a long career ahead of her. On the seven
foot unicycle throwing bowls. I mean it's foot to her head.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Everybody likes red BANDA.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
Nobody wants to see elderly woman.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Go down on a seven foot unicycle.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
Yeah, and it's one thing that she breaks a plate
or too, and then she's like, oh cute, like oh
so si you know, but this is the.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Yeah face he went down.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Yeah, that's bad. You know. I don't want to see
you fall.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
No, didn't sign up for that. Malik Beasley's in big trouble.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
And this is not this is a shave and a shave.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
This isn't Michael Porter Junior's brother. This is like a
dude that was making f fifty million dollars on a contract,
a guaranteed contract.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Such an idiot exactly.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
He's being sued for failing to repay a full six
hundred and fifty thousand dollars advance to a marketing company.
He owes money to a landlord, a dentist, a celebrity barber,
and on top of all of that, he is under
federal investigation for prop bets regarding his poor performance on
(10:27):
NBA games. When when a giant number comes into a
book for someone to not achieve a certain amount of
points or.
Speaker 6 (10:38):
Rebounds, They're like, I don't know why I'm not shooting, man,
Just Jim's passing the ball.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
I don't know what's going on in the leak tonight.
Normally he's a volume shooter. You're probably gonna get pinched.
He's a real idiot.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
He's made another mistake.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I mean, he's a real idiot. Well, I don't want
to rush to judgment once again, if we can detail
did not pay No, go on, let's not run in
a reggie bush like Manner. Did not repay a six
hundred and fifty thousand dollars advance from a marketing firm.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
You know how to get me on your side?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yes, ohst money to a landlord, a dentist, a celebrity
barber as well. That is a man who is making
what eleven twelve million bucks a year, I believe is
dealing with this sort of financial distress and made a
mistake by leaving his pregnant lady to hook up with
old ass larsa Pippen.
Speaker 6 (11:28):
It's one thing to be upside down on a credit card,
but you pay your freaking barber right, We'll be right back, Matt.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
We got a special guest coming up, nat Justin Robleski.
May he enter the category of Ben Casparius is a
petros In Money Show favorite slow down.
Speaker 1 (11:51):

Let's get excited for this guy.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
We put in a request for Justin Robleski and the
Dodgers came through.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Oh yeah, play the Offset. I love this.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
It's your favorite song, Matt.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
If it wasn't for how much you love CARDI B
Offset would be your favorite off s. That's my guy,
twenty four year old Dodger left hander. Speaking of left
handers having a great twenty twenty five in the big leagues,
he knows a lot of fight songs. Mattie went to
high school at Sequoya County, Georgia, home of the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Let's go Chiefs and let's go Chee Tiger.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
And then he was like a flaming and then he
was an Okie State cowboy, and now he's a Dodger
and he's dealing. Selected by the Dodgers of the twenty
twenty one draft out of Oklahoma State. We love talking
to Justin Robleski and all the young pitchers. Can he
be a more intriguing interview than Kasparius? Time will tell
(13:21):
joining us on the Southern California Toyota Niner Celebrity Hotline.
It is Dodger pitcher Justin Robleski part of the reason
the Dodgers are having a lead that is building in
the nl West. What's cracking?
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Justin? Welcome to the show. How are you?
Speaker 4 (13:36):
How are you guys? Talk to you guys.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
We're fabulous. Do you feel a little buzz around the
ballpark today? Because your fellow lefty, Clayton Kershaw, the old
man in the Mountain is going for three thousand strikeouts
or is it just like any other day around Chavez Ravine.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
I mean, obviously there's a buzz, there's a lot of
guys talking about it, and you know, obviously we all
know kind of the deals, so it's super exciting, and yeah,
I'm super excited for him to get this done and
keep it rolling.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Spetros was detailing all your stops and the twists and
turns your career path took, justin did you ever kind
of envision this sort of role when it came to you.
I assume you want to embrace any role if you
get called up to the big league club, but just
kind of the way in the different ways they're using you.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Yeah, I think, you know, anytime you can be in
the big leagues, it's huge. But I think for me
it's just been kind of, you know, doing what's asked
with me and just kind of continuing to try and
improve every day and just continue to get better and
kind of huling the craft and keep going. But yeah,
it's been great. You know, I've obviously enjoyed every second
(14:44):
of my time up here, so yeah, just trying to
keep controlling what I can and just doing my thing
every time I get out there.
Speaker 6 (14:51):
You've been a quake alone, a dodger, a driller, a
lot of different professional style in not a lot of time. Uh,
how hard is it to remain focused on taking care
of yourself, taking care of your body when you're moving
around a lot, and like you said, you don't know
(15:11):
what's coming tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Yeah, I think you know, that's something I kind of
had to learn last year, is just like how to
manage kind of the up and down stuff. And you know,
it's it's a part of kind of everybody's career at
some point where you just kind of learn how to
how to roll the punches. But for me, it's just
kind of figuring out, you know, what works to keep
me going and keep me, you know, feeling good and
(15:34):
just kind of being available every time I'm called upon.
That's really something I try to take pride in, is
trying to be out there whenever, whenever the team needs me.
And if I could do that, I think that's that's
number one. And then obviously number two is to perform
when I'm out there. So it's it's tough, but I
mean it's it's something that i've kind of gotten better
about you know, you can't get too married to a
(15:55):
certain routine because of the way that you know, things
happen fast. But same time, it's like you got to find,
you know, some semblance of a routine when you're in
that situation.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
The I think the game justin was like mid June
against the Padres, and it felt like, you know, just
in social media was where you got a lot of
traction and you know, for maybe people that weren't familiar
with you, Dave Roberts leaves you out there, it's the
ninth inning, you're very animated and emotional. It seems like
like was that did that thing feel different than some
(16:27):
of the other ones you'd been in considering sort of
this rivalry, the way things were going in that series
with the Padres, and the fact that he sent you
back out there for the ninth and let you finish
that inning off, it just felt I don't know, it
felt really cool.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Yeah, it was definitely awesome. I mean just kind of
you know, obviously they have a great team over there,
and so anytime you're playing another team that's that's good.
You kind of get get fired up and get excited.
But I think kind of that was a point for
me where it's like I finally was starting to feel
like myself again and kind of being able to pitch
the way that that I know I can. So it
(17:00):
was just like kind of a combination of all those
things and then you know, Doc leaving me in for
that for that ninth sending. It was awesome in a
close ball game, just kind of showing that trust to me.
It was great, and yeah, it was. It was awesome.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
It was.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
It was a lot of fun. And then obviously, you know,
we'll hit the walk off home run that day, so
it's pretty pretty solid day for sure.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Like what happened in that series, You know, when when
guys are getting plunked back and forth and and things
are kind of getting hot out there, is it like
our pitcher's not supposed to say anything to each other?
Do you talk with one another going into the games
about what you think is going to happen and how
you approach you know, after things happen? Like what how
does that stuff? How does it work when when the
(17:42):
you know, the unwritten rules of baseball have been violated
and the pitching staff has to take care of some
stuff out there?
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Yeah, I mean I think you know, at the end
of the day, you're just still trying to go out
there and do your job, which to get out and
you know, at the end of the day, like sure
stuff happens and whatever, but your job is to go
out there to take the ball and kind of just
dominate the strike zone and try to dominate the hitters.
I think that's really what it comes down to. There's
not much like we're gonna do this, this and this.
(18:08):
It's just like we're gonna go out there and try
to dominate today. And then two happens.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Young Dodger lefty Justin Robleski joining us on the Petrosen
Money Show on what should be a historic day in
Dodger history. We roll pretty deep with Casparius in that
he's been on the show twice Robleski, which gives us,
you know, we feel great ownership of his career. And
now you're halfway there. You get along pretty well with Casparius.
(18:35):
You guys, you know, have similar roles and and do
you live together and also play You have the same
video game Moniker, you know, you log in on the
same account.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Is all that true?
Speaker 2 (18:47):
That's not true?
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Unfortunately, unfortunately it is not. It is not true, you.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Don't roll with Casparius at all.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I definitely rolled him. He's one of my boys for sure,
but we definitely don't have the same What did you
just say, moniker on video game? Yeah, yeah, I don't
think we have all that, But no, he's one of
my boys. We came up together, and yeah, I've known
him for a long time since college summer ball. So
it's been fun to kind of see his path and
(19:15):
watch him dominate up here and then you know, be
able to come up with him and kind of do
my thing up here. It's been great. And yeah, he's
great too, one of my boys, So.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Super happy for him as is, today is a celebration
of three thousand strikeouts, a feat which we likely will
never see again based on kind of how pitchers are
now being used in baseball. Can you remember you had one,
I think seven against the Rockies. You had six against
the Royals on Sunday? What's the most striking any level
(19:43):
of baseball? Little League, high school, college, JC, what's the
most strikeout you ever had in a game?
Speaker 4 (19:51):
I think I had seventeen in the game in high school. Yeah,
I think it was sixteen or seventeen. It was, but
we had a game where we had we had to
win that game to kind of give us a chance
to make the same playoffs. And that's something you know,
for my high school we hadn't done in a while.
So went out there and then I punched out in
(20:12):
you know, sixteen or seventeen whatever it was. And yeah,
it's something I won't forget because I remember we walked
off the game because I came out of the game
and like after like six and two thirds or something,
and I think a run had scored, so like I
was actually in line for the loss. We ended up
scoring two in the bottom of the seventh when the
game your chief.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
It was super cool.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
It was super cool.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Did you did you hit the home run to put
your your team ahead two to one? I assume you
could swing a bat when you were in high school
as well, Right, I could sling it.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
I could swing it a little bit. Not not that game,
but I think there was like like my first five
stars I had in my senior high school, I think
I had a home run in all of them, which
was pretty funny.
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Yeah, everybody knows it was Jurgen Johansson from Sequoia County
High School that hit that walk off. Man, Come on,
well you're hey, one more rumor that you can clear
up for us, and then we'll let you go, Robleski,
because you've been very gracious and we sure appreciate it.
Did you Is it true that you were kind of
reluctant to let Otawani into the pitchers club when he
(21:16):
started pitching. You were kind of like, hey man, you
got to earn this, you know, you can't just hang
out with us and prior, you know, just because you
pitch a few And is that true that you kind
of we bullied him a little bit.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
I mean we we all tried to, you know what
I mean. No, man, obviously, that guy is a special, special,
special talent, and I think, you know, sometimes, especially being
a part of this clubhouse, you can kind of take
for granted just the things he is able to do
on a baseball field. But it's honestly super super impressive.
You know, his abilities, you know, not only as a
(21:50):
hitter but as a pitcher, and just kind of seeing
him work and watching him, you know, in his ability
to manipulate baseball and kind of throw strikes and throw
a series. It's really hard. So it's super impressive and
He's a great dude, so it's it's been really fun
to be a teammate of his.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
I know, he said last one, but I got my
financially enterprising brain can't help but ask now, obviously the
three thousandth strikeout ball is going to go back to Kershaw.
I don't know if twenty nine to ninety nine is
going to go into the back pocket of Will Smith.
But like what about Like could you talk to Will
whoever's going to catch today, and say, hey, man, I
want one of those foul balls that counts as a
(22:29):
strike that goes toward a strikeout. Like what if you
got like strike two for the final three thousand strikeout
and put that thing in your pocket? You know what
I mean? Like that's something no one's thinking about because
they want the ball that he struck out on. But
what if you got one of the strikes before it,
if it were a foul ball? That's a good question.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
What if I don't know, I mean, I don't know
how I would go about getting that because I'm sure
there's going to be authenticators and dug Out probably taking
every ball that he touches today. You know, he might
they might take the lacrosse ball. He rolls out in
the gym with might authenticate that one. They might authenticate
the foam roller, he uses.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
You know what I mean, but authenticators.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
No, it's yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna try to sneak something,
but no, it's it's just uh, honestly, it's it's awesome
to be able to be here and to watch it,
and you know, I'm super excited, not only for him,
but just for the sport because I think it's, you know,
something's gonna obviously bring a lot of eyes to it
and just kind of, you know, more than we already
have because it's something that yeah, you're right, you might
(23:28):
never see it again. And yeah, it's it's it's super
super cool.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Got to get my hands on that foam roller.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
Justin Robleski, we sure appreciate you, man, uh, and congratulations
on your success. A young guy up there, uh doing
great things, living a great baseball dream. Fun to watch
you play and stay healthy and have a great year.
Thanks for doing it.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Yeaheah, I really appreciate.
Speaker 6 (23:51):
It, guys, Justin Robleski, Ladies and gentlemen, you know, I
feel differently about him. I saw that video where Otani
was in the uh the dugout. Need went over to
pick up a gatorade bottle and Robleski kicked it away
from him, bullying him and let him clear it up. Yeah,
you know, I was just like, come on, man, and
he said, I tried. We tried to bully him a
(24:11):
little bit, but he's just not having it. He's two
nice of a guy.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Fair enough.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
We'll be right back with you, a hitter guy. Yeah, Hey,
what's going on?
Speaker 7 (24:20):
Man?
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Hey? Batswinger guy, get out of here. Man.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
Hey, we don't take to those batswinger types. Here, law dog,
we don't take that Kansas law here.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Looks like you got lost in the wrong part of town.
Oh tunny, you don't.
Speaker 6 (24:33):
Belong here in the dugout with me and Kirby yeats,
old man. Kirby doesn't like the smell of yet. We'll
be back with your den and a live guy birth
the other day. It's Clayton Carshaw's big night and he's
gonna dip that big ancient jaw into a beer when
it's all over.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Hello, PMS listener, did you know AM five seventy LA
Sports as a wide range of LA sports podcasts. There's
Rogan and Rodney.
Speaker 8 (25:04):
That one is my favorite. Dodger Talk with David Vassei,
the Dodger Podcast of record, Clipper Talk without a Musk,
follow us all and many more. Just go to AM
five to seventy LA Sports on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
Hight beyond that great conversation is about another more gnarled,
very old late thirties lefty.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Indeed, indeed p Clayton kershaw tonight and we've been saying
it all day. If you are out and about, it
might come with three strikeouts on the first inning. You're
not home yet, be sure to tune in to AM
five to seventy, your home of the Dodgers, to hear
and be part of this historic event. If you're not
near a TV or a radio, get it on the
(25:49):
iHeartRadio app. If you're in the Greater LA area, you
can hear Dodger games through your smartphone, your smart device
and the iHeartRadio app in the AM five to seventy
LA Sports preset. So either way, certainly could be as
early as you know. Game starts a seven to ten.
Everybody knows the game starts seven to ten, could be
seven to fifteen. Third strike strike out, the side right,
strike out a side bay. Now you're your witness to
(26:10):
history with your ears. Witness with your ears.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
You might have to get there early.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
It's almost like the Otani outings and he's going to
pitch again on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
You gotta get in your.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Seat, gotta get in the seat, gotta fight the crowds.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Those seats are for asses like Pete rosett.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
It's exactly right. So if your ass can't find a seat,
see it in person and you can't turn on a TV,
oh iHeartRadio app. That's right, Telly radio. Ass. However you
see it, if you see it with your ass, congratulations.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
We would like you to put your ass in a seat.
On the second stop of the twelfth annual Petro Some
Money Summer Tour, Friday, July eleven, from three to six,
we're gonna be in Rancho Kuk Amonga.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Everybody right off the two ten freeway, Haven Avenue. It
is September's tap room. As you mentioned, Pe, we love
going back to Rancho Kuk in that particular area. Last
time we were out there, it was an incredibly successful
Petros and Money Summer toward stop. The fire department had
to come out and while they didn't shut us down.
We appreciate that they acted as bouncers, refusing to let
(27:07):
anybody in unless somebody else had left. So it was
great you all came out, and we hope you do
the same. We have a ton of prizes to give away,
including Dodger tickets, that trip to an MGM resort in
Las Vegas, and of course you can qualify for the
five grand at the final PMS tour stop at the
end of the summer. So hopefully we will see you
(27:28):
out there. We feel comfortable confirming I believe that Joe, Kelly, Mariachi,
Joe will be out there.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
Oh, very exciting, very excited about it. Supper Ranchero, Joe
in Rancho Coop. All right, Matt your dead guy. Birthday
of the day from Lamar, Colorado. Uh, not Lamar University
in Texas like our friend Kevin Malar.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
But Lamar Colorado.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
Ken Curtis one hundred and nine years old born Curtis Gates.
His father was the sheriff of Bent County, Colorado.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Interesting guy. He was the.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
Quarterback for his high school football team in Bent County Foosball.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Served in the Army during World War Two.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Greatest Generation that's q.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Matth went to Colorado College.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Let's go Tigers, Oh, the single subject school.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
That's right. But he quit, he quit to be a musician.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
And he actually is the first guy to replace Frank
Sinatra when Frank Sinatra left Tommy Dorsey's band.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Is that right?
Speaker 6 (28:43):
And you know the famous story that was adopted by
the Godfather about the mafia getting Frank Sinatra out of
that contract.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Well, Ken's the guy that took over briefly, Is that right?
Speaker 6 (28:55):
Yeah, started acting and was under contract with Universal sang
Country Radio and became the lead singer for the legendary
country la band The Finest, the Sons of the Pioneers.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Four years.
Speaker 6 (29:13):
He was the lead singer for the Sons of the
Pioneers forty nine to fifty five. He's on Ghost Riders
in the Sky, the original recording, but that is not
how we know him. He also signed with Columbia and
did a bunch of movies, a ton of legendary westerns.
But that is not what Ken Curtis is best known for.
(29:35):
He is best known as Festus Marshall, Matt Dillon's deputy
on gun Smoke, replacing Chester.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Now there's a long, long debate about.
Speaker 6 (29:54):
Chester versus Festus and who did it better. There were
actually six deputies over the years when James Harness's Gun Smoke,
but Curtis had the longest run as the deputy for
Matt Dillon eleven years, three hundred.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
And four episodes.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
That's good run, bulk of the series, dude, that's a
good run.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
Other work, Heat of the Night, stuff like that. Died
in Fresno in ninety one Festus. Here he is talking
to Doc about an investment that he should make in
gun Smoke.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
I went to work and to give me that dollar.
Speaker 7 (30:38):
Why don't you take that money and invested in something?
Speaker 5 (30:42):
Why don't you do that?
Speaker 7 (30:43):
There's wonderful land values outside of Dodge, Now, why don't
you go out there someplace, look around and buy yourself
a lot, a lot of what a lot of land?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Well?
Speaker 5 (30:54):
See, like I can't afford to buy a lot of land.
You probably could the way you've been in the built
and the gouging fold.
Speaker 7 (31:01):
Oh god, I'm trying to help you. It don't cost
a whole lot to buy a little lot. What do
you mean It don't cost a whole lot to buy
a little A whole lot to buy a lot. What
do you mean, Well, I mean a little lot of land.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
But they ain't no such a thing. A little, a
little and a lot a lot. They ain't no little
lot or lot a little. Don't you see? Now you
want that beer, don't you no? Come all worn out?
I went to work and to give me that dollar.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Three thousand strikeouts is a lot.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I'm all worn out.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Festus.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
That's good acting right there.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Well, that's back when men were men.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
That's right. Uh, you're a live guy speaking of when
men were men. Two iconic roles one incredible actress Candace
in Phineas and Ferb Sharpey and high school musical Happy
fortieth The Ashley Tisdale hit It eights.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Now, somebody, anybody? Everybody's good? Squirrels in my pants Simple.

was in over a hundred one hundred commercials as a toddler,
(32:47):
uh and a small child. She was eight when she
was cast in the New York City performance of Le
Miz's cassette and was part of the touring group for
two years. What did that get her? Pee? Little orphan Annie,
that's a huge Korea.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
What would the matron say?
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Uh? She moved to Los Angeles when she was twelve.
Done with Annie and Korea after that? You know that
was a big ros good run though she landed some
TV talking about that run.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
That brow running Korea.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Smart. She was in Seventh Heaven. She was signed by
Ford Models and she got her VEO work going to
Bugs Life and was celebrated for her role in Donnie Darko.
In two thousand and one, Big Break was the Sweet
Life of Zach and Cody part of the main cast.
But two thousand and five, Oh, Kate, how long has
it been since you heard it? Weeks? Weeks? This song
(33:39):
would play fifty times a day, every day in my
home for two years straight. High school musical Sharpey Evans
seven point seven million people two d.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
After one of those rake dogs.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Yeah, shar Pei.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
That was the wrinkly dog of the eighties. Yeah, like
that was like.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
The French the French Bowl. This song was so popular
even though it's only two minutes long. But became a
top forty hit, landed her a solo record deal with
Warner Brothers. It went gold. High School Musical two. Think
about the sixteen point one million people watched Game seven
of the NBA Finals. Seventeen point five million people watched
(34:22):
High School Musical two on the Disney Channel and a
viewing party at our house. Yeah, did we I was
kind of into it. I believe it was a Friday night.
It was a Friday night. It was a seven pm start,
and yeah, the girls freaked out. She got Phineas and
ferb Candas. We mentioned that, Canna splin in the most watch.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
That's probably her biggest job.
Speaker 6 (34:43):
Despite the success of that, Yeah, the most, She's probably
had the most ruhy doing that.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
It was the beginning in twenty ten. It has been
the most watched animated show on TV.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
It's the uh, It's the Burnett linebacker that she was
looking for first, exactly right. For the second part of
her career, she starred in some CW special teams.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Ass I want some Burned.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
Backer Hellcats on the CW, got her own spinoff, Disney
Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure five million viewers on that one. She
starred in scary movie five and twenty thirteen. It was
panned and it was the worst performing scary movie ever. No, yeah,
well she's no. Anna faris not really doing anything now.
(35:28):
She's forty years old today, married two daughters. Happy birthday,
Ashley tistidious Ferm has done. Now they're bringing it back
a reboot that. Yeah, they're rebooting, but it's been done
for about four or five years, I think, since they
were doing new episodes. But I do think they're rebooting,
so I would assume.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
That she get a little work, a little bit more
burning back, more burn it backer. She only comes in
on first and a second down. She can't run to
the sideline very well. But we love her in the gaps.
All right, have a great night, everybody, enjoy the good
