(02:14):
I was expecting to drive up and do the show
today as Tim Kates and I are doing the four
hours of Great Sports Talk Today Great Sports Talk. Matt
money Smith took a couple of days off of the week. Well, yeah,
I'm sure it's a bummer to people.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Un you charge or something.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
No, the Chargers play on Sunday. We'll get to that
when we do schedule talk. But he went to go
be with his family in Chicago, and then I think
he comes back to work a college football game, the
only one he's done this year on Compass Radio. That
same game. I believe you're doing pre half in.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Post Yes Saturday night, seven o'clock Free, seven thirty Kick
from the Farm I call it the farm.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Call it the farm, but don't call it Palo Alto.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Okay. I was just going to ask you that, Petros,
because I was going to refer to as the farm
of Palo Alto.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
No, it used to be Stanford used to be Palo Alto, right,
but then they no longer wanted to be associated with
the city of Palo Alto because of East Palo Alto,
which apparently isn't that great of an area. Okay, So
the once you cross the street where Palo Alto High
School is into that foresty wooded area that starts the

(03:29):
Stanford campus, you are no longer in Palo Alto. You
are actually in Stanford, California.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
So they made their own town, So you are in Stanford, California,
or as it is affectionately known, the farm, So you
can call it that, but Matt Farm. Yeah, Matt is
out for the next couple days and or yesterday and today,
But that doesn't mean you still can't podcast the show

(03:58):
on your home of the Back to Back World champion
LA Dodgers. Make sure you hit the follow button on
the iHeartRadio app so you can get the latest note
of fires and you can also get Petros and Money
on demand with the Petros and Money Show podcast. Should
we intro Tim Kates with some music, maybe some unwritten
law and before while we get that music, producer Rus shows,

(04:23):
I'll ceif fastball.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
That's all so mute everybody.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Timk No, No, I have like a real intro like
we would do for Don McClain. But we need like
unwritten law and stuff. But maybe a little schedule talk.
Dis me Ben no time.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
There's never any time I don't have time to study.
I'll never get in schedule talk.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
You needn't go anywhere for even though the show's not
coming back till Monday tomorrow. We have a Thanksgiving Day
feast of NFL games, a triple header beginning at nine,
Packers at Lions, Chiefs at Cowboys, Bengals at Ravens.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
All three big games in the respected divisions.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
We've got NFL on Black Friday, Bears versus Eagles kickoff
at noon on AMFI seventy, the big ten rivalry game
that everybody loves. Number one Ohio State at number fifteen
Michigan nine am kickoff here on MFI seventy. Sunday, Chargers
versus Raiders on AM six forty kickoff at one twenty

(05:33):
five and joining us on today's Southern California Toyota Dealers
celebrity guest Microphone. He works tirelessly. He swallows a lot
of aggression and a lot of Burdbank margaritas. Nobody goes
harder than the host of Scam, the host of Compass Media,

(05:55):
College Football Studio and Basketball Studio, and Raiders and Dodgers
on Deck brought to you by Marongo Casino and Dodger Talk,
and of course producing Petros and Moddy. I'll see if
baseball in ninety six the next time he leaves Burbank

(06:16):
will be the first. That's true, Tim kaits.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me host
with you today for four hours of great sports eat
sports talk. Looking forward to him, did you have a choice. Uh,
there was a couple of choices. I did ask McClain yesterday.
I'm like, hey, do you want to go host tomorrow?
It's like, if you really need me, I'll do it.
But not really.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Okay, So wow, I guess I must have worn him
out yesterday. We must have taken it to him.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
You really took it to him yesterday. That was four
full hours of Donn yesterday. And by the way, if
you're asking, yes, this is a We are live Wednesday
here on AMPI seventy LA Sports no best of shows
playing throughout the day on this port station here in
southern California. We are live in local all day long.
We're live in local all weekend long during this Thanksgiving

(07:07):
break with football, as Petros alluded to, three tomorrow, one
on Friday, big rivalry game on Saturday, Chargers Raiders on Sunday,
all live in local for you as you make your
way in about southern California. Where you're sitting in Trafford,
it's just at home, like I was earlier, getting the
Christmas decorations out for the family. Enjoy some gret sports talk,

(07:27):
great sports talk.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Well, I'm glad you're enthusiastic, because before we started you
were really angry because you had a diet coke explode
in your backpack and it got you all sticky and
bathed you in chemicals.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, the Dike coke that I brought from home. The
girls apparently dropped it and it shook up, and so
they opened the top just a little bit to alleviate
the pressure from the diet coke that was about to explode,
and then retwisted the top back on, but not all
the way. So when Dad put it in his backpack
and got to work and put it on my back
and was walking up to the fourth floor here at
the iHeart Studios in Burbank, I felt something dripping from

(08:05):
my backpack and I turned around and there it was
diet coke puddled up in my backpack, my headphones, my
mic sock, all my paperwork, my calendar, little book I
have that I keep my schedule in my life, with
all soaking wet thanks to open diet coke in my
bag and with my back of my shirt all dripping
wet too.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
What your Travis Matthew? Yes, what percentage of your day?
Did that destroy?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
One hundred percent of it?

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Come on, one hundred I mean you're on here, how
many great times?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
As close to one hundred percent as you can get.
It started to go down as we got closer to
the three o'clock here, and then as soon as the
show started, it has significantly gone down. Because I'm fired
up to be with you this afternoon.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
All right, Well, that's great news. I'm happy about that.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
I mean I get to co host a afternoon drive
show in Los Angeles, the Petrol tamadaekas a guy I
almost went to blows with twenty years ago after he
the UCLA USC game.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Come on, well, I don't think that's fair. What I
mean did to bring up our contentious pass?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Why why? I make sure people realize that we have
a history together, Petros.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
It wasn't worked together here for a long time.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Absolutely, it's all Roses now, but it wasn't great to
start off with. But now look at us.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
I guess, wow, wow, come on, Ethel and Albert? All right, well,
today speaking, nobody remembers Ethel and Albert. But that was
yesterday's dead guy Birthday of the day, Peg Lynch, who
created the sitcom with the show Ethel and Albert, and
I was very proud of digging up that information. Now,

(09:41):
as far as the schedule goes, today we have more
scheduled talk because they have four hours. So there's four hours,
so there is a lot to fill.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
A lot of football talk today, a lot of high
school football talk, Petros.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
We'll have two high school football coaches on everybody. Yes,
I had to go to the luncheons, so everybody had
to go to like the big CIF luncheons, and I'm
sure you saw the videos on Twitter where they're introducing
their teams and the kids are standing up.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
The cool moment for all the teams playing these championship.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, and to have Carson Palmer, a Heisman Trophy winner
there with all the other coaches and we earlier in
the week we were able to catch up with Matt Logan,
which was as the one we've done. But we also
will have Guy Gardner from where I'm around, Yes, up
on the hill at Pallas Verne's High School in palas

(10:32):
Verne's Estates. They are once again playing for a CIF
title and that is pretty remarkable. And this year they're
in Division III doing it taking on PACIFICA on Friday
under yeah, under the portable lights at palas Verne's High
School on Friday night, So that'll be pretty exciting. I'll

(10:55):
be monitoring that from the road, and we'll also talk
to Carson him sol will we not?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Yes? Four point thirty Carson Palmer expected to join the
show as he gets ready for his big Friday night
matchup at the Rose Bowl.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
So when you say expected, yes, do you think Carson
will blow us off.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I mean, you know him better than I do. Petros
how reliable. I mean, I feel pretty good about him.
Been talking to the athletic.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
I mean he's Carson Palmer. I mean he's standing in
the pocket like a man and take a helmet right
to the chin. He's been on the show on my
face and throw it down the field. He got on
the show for the first time in many years, and
that was because but.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
He got hired. It when he got hired.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, so I think he's coming back. I mean, that's
what the rundown says.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
What it's cool is, I remember when you guys talked
to him on the air and he kind of had
that mindsets. I'm still figuring this out. I'm putting together
my staff. You know, this all kind of came together
me being the head coach now and we're off and
running in the Trinity League. Here we go and in
year one he navigates through the Trinity League the goods
and Bads, Big One, Big Losses, goes to the playoffs.

(12:03):
Division one knocks offs here at Canyon, get to the
semi finals, wins the last week and now here in
the finals at the Rose Bowl. Very cool to see
what he's done in one year.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
It is remarkable. And I think if you told people
who pay attention to high school football, even nationally, that
Bosco or Modern Day wasn't going to be playing this year,
they would be shocked. And it's in part to parody
and in part due to great coaching like Carson Palmer
and of course Monday's guest Matt Logan. We didn't have

(12:35):
time to book the pacifica coach, so I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Don't worry thought Petros and the number of the day.
A little bit more high school football talk. I'm going
to do a roll call all the teams playing this
weekend to give them all a shout out.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Wow, Tim, would you be going to a game no
on Friday night? Or has your beloved Village Christian team
been eliminated?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Oh, they were limitated in the first round. Petros by
Oak Park way back when.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Well, you know, my Peninsula team and it's hard to
not make the playoffs these days, but my Peninsula team
wasn't even close. So you know, the grass is always greener, Tim,
enjoy it while you have it, Smoke him while you
got him. Now we also have James Worthy joining the
show in the very next segment, our hero in the
world of basketball. The Lakers beat the Clippers last night.

(13:23):
I think Lebron and Luca and Austin Reeves combined for
ninety nine points together, which is incredible. So congratulations to
the Lakers. And the Clippers are worse than ever. And
we will discuss that with James Worthy and be thankful

(13:43):
for James and talk about what a cool guy James
Worthy is and the like. And that is coming up
in our very next segment. And I am a little
I feel bad, Tim because what are we going to
do about Matt's turkey recipe? Oh?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I totally forgot about that.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Well I think he did too, because he hasn't contacted us.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
No, nor did he do.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
I don't want to bother him on his trip.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
No, no, no, don't bother.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
But there are people that expect Matt's turkey recipe.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Now.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
I don't want to create more work for you. But
should we just post it online? Uh?

Speaker 2 (14:18):
You know what we can do?

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Just find the turkey recipe from last year. You don't
want to post it and be like last year's turkey
recipe because Mount was out. I mean, I feel bad.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
That's a great call if you download and you listen
to the Petrols of Money Show podcast, which I can
tell you thousands do because I see it every day.
Instead of just the one o'clock hour, the first hour,
second hour, third hour, fourth hour, I'm gonna put a
separate little podcast in there of Matt's turkey recipe from
last year. That way, if you need a little brush up,

(14:49):
you lead in a little reminder, or if you've never
heard it before, you can hear for the first time
and you can have it at your disposal. There his
turkey recipe that is I wouldn't say world famous, but
but South Orange County famous.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
I guess. I mean people ask for it, you know
we have. Some people said that it's not really Thanksgiving
until they hear the turkey recipe.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Well, I think it's not really Thanksgiving until Ronnie brings
his pies in. But that's just did he do it today?
I don't see he pies it.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
You know what, In full disclosure, I did not bring
any pipes.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
No, what's doing anything?

Speaker 5 (15:23):
No, there's nobody here.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, well we're here, Ronnie.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Well you know this is just us, like four of
us here on this entire floor.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Yeah, most people are have already called it. And I'm
here too because Tim was very nice because it took
me a long time to get home last night and
the traffic is bad out there. Take it easy out there, people,
and try to be patient. It's important to have patience,
and the importance of being earnest on the road cannot
be overstated. Now, I did not take the day off.

(15:52):
As far as my Thanksgiving tradition that people expect from me,
I will be doing the Petros and Money PSA for Thanksgiving,
and we'll see, we'll either do it at the end
of this hour or we'll do it at the end
of the next hour.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
To me, that's the Thanksgiving annual. I mean, say what
you're thankful for, have a little turkey, little ham, little
stuffy mashed potatoes, little green beans, mac and cheese, and
Petros's annual PSA.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
It will be the annual warning about the bars tonight.
And obviously we don't want anybody to drink and drive,
but beyond that, we don't want anybody humiliating themselves by
trying to recreate what was already a terrible time when
they were in high school and or college. So we
will have that discussion as the show goes on that

(16:40):
we'll have a college whip, a big college whip.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Big weekend in college football.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
It's a huge weekend in college football. So we have
not forgotten that the college whip will be in the
five o'clock hour, which is always a feature, and the
F one Report returns makes a triumphant return. On Friday,
we have another no On Saturday, there's another sprint race
and then on Sunday another Grand Prix out in Qatar,

(17:07):
and we just got done with the Las Vegas Grand
Prix as the championship is raging. So we will have
a lot James Worthy public announcement on the PSA, Tim
Kates's high school roll call, a college football whip around

(17:28):
an F one Report. Did I say James Worthy?

Speaker 2 (17:33):
You did say James Worthy? Carson Palmer freaking Carson Palmer
at four thirty Live Sports.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
And Guy Gardner, So we are not phoned it in
Great Sports Talk, a full real show that everybody can
get behind an old sticky ice ice t oh no
diet coke neck. Tim Kates is here to make it happen.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
I'm gonna go clean my bag during the commercial break.
We got these wipes here in the studio to wipe
down things in between the show, especially when Fred's here.
Petros and Fred has been here the last three days. Yes,
he's back in the Dame yesterday. Why I was there.
It smells like Fred.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
It smells like brute in there.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
That's Fred is gross jupe or whatever it spells, like
my grandfather. Yeah, So Fred wears his very heavy cologne.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
And I've had to wipe down the studios the last
couple of days, and so I didn't have a chance
right before the show started at three o'clock. So during
the break, I gotta clean my bag and I got
to clean the studio in here too. Get the smell
out of here.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
That's kind of gross. Yeah, it is gross that Fred's
cologne stinks up the studio.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
I love Fred, but when I haven't seen the guy
in like months, and he's like, hello, Tim, what's new?
Tell me what's going on? Fred? I haven't seen you
in months. It's a lot to catch up on. We
don't have time.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
You missed him earlier. He was one doing around the
hallways aimlessly looking for somebody to talk to.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Dude, there's nobody here during Thanksgiving. You don't try to
tell him that he's looking for points, like oh god,
I saw Fred, because he's never there, so he's walking
around looking for like, oh yeah, I saw Fred and
there's no one there to talk to Fred. Everybody no
one comes to work that They give everybody the whole
week off in school.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
Now I want to be seen.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Yeah, well you showed up the wrong week. Stick around
on Monday. Fred will see you December first.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Doubt that.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Punk ass all right, we'll be back with more petros
and money. We'll talk to the one and only James Worthy,
a hero to us and the city. The Lakers look
simply great. You hang in there, everybody, and be careful
out there on the streets James Worthy.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Next, we've made it even easier to take LA Sports
with you this summer. Make AM five seventy or your
favorite AM five seventy LA Sports podcast on the iHeartRadio
app using Apple car Play or Android Auto road.

Speaker 2 (20:04):

(20:49):
one and only James Worthy p.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Yes, it is big game. James from Spectrum Sportsnet LA.
A wonderful man, a great person, one of the greatest
basketball players of all time out of Gastonia, North Carolina,
and of course we appreciate his knowledge. The Lakers are

(21:16):
looking good, and James Worthy of champion on every level
is here to tell us just how good. So it's
great to hear from you, James, and happy Thanksgiving to
you and your family. God bless you.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Hey, Happy Thanksgiving everybody, man, enjoy the holidays and be
safe and try not to eat too much.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Yeah, it's not easy, but Lakers look great and I
would imagine James that that you feel more and more
confident every time this team takes the floor because they
seem to be able to find ways to wind, find
ways to win with a different lineup. Just how impressed
are you with this team?

Speaker 4 (21:58):
I have to say thus far, I'm very impressed. You know,
they get an A grade thus far because of how
they have come together after really just having Luca, you know,
half a season and it being JJ's first year, I
think coming back with a full year and you know,

(22:21):
a lot of time to convey the message what you
want from the team, and I think they've really bought into,
you know, what he's been asking for, especially on the
defensive end. And then they have a really good production
from their role players. You know, Marcus Smart, Hey, he's

(22:43):
coming in last night when Ayton was out. I like
Jake Graveias coming in, Max Cleve, you know, he's coming
in now healthy. And then of course Luca is just
killing it. And then you got a guy like Austin
Reeves who's quietly giving you twenty five plus points and
getting to the line and then steps in. You know, arguably,

(23:07):
you know, one of the best players they ever playing
the game, Lebron, who's fitting in perfectly. And when you
look at the measure, the measure is Oklahoma, Okay. Who
has had their start to set out, I don't know,
eight nine, ten, fourth quarters. That's old school right there,
taking care of business early, trying to get you know,

(23:29):
the game and get the guys from rest. So the
Lakers are, they're they're trying to get there, and so
far they're they're doing a pretty good job of staying together.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
James, you just said it. Lebron is fitting in. And
this was asked to you the last couple of weeks.
What's it going to look like when Lebron comes back
and has to play with Luca and aar What are
you seeing? How is the offense flown with the three
of them?

Speaker 4 (23:52):
This wisdom, you know, Lebron is you know, he's done
it all. I mean, he's entering as you know, third year.
No one's ever done that, So he's able to look
and survey and he knows that it's Luca's team even
though Lebron is Lebron. Never have we had the torch

(24:14):
being passed I mean Jordan to Kobe, you know, Kobe
to Lebron, but we've never and now Lebron to Luca,
but we've never had two greats on the same team
like that. So I give Lebron a lot of credit for,
you know, just letting guys play and deliver and let

(24:36):
guys like Ruy step up. I like the way Ayton has,
you know, he's emerged and playing good. And Lebron he's
just gonna come in and plug in, plug in. You know,
twenty three last night, you know, almost a triple double.
He's gonna plug in and just play the game. But
I guarantee you if they need him to drop thirty five,

(24:58):
forty and dominate, he can do that. So he's he's
in a great He's in a great situation right now
with this team, James.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
They had twenty nine assists on fifty made baskets last night.
That's pretty good. And Luca led the way. He too,
almost had a triple double with forty three thirteen and nine.
Is the Lakers going to be successful when you see
a number like that for Luca, the points will come, certainly.
But when he's got thirteen assists and nine rebounds, that's
a sign that the ball's moving around.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Right, and the ball must move. You know, sometimes early
in the game, when Lucaly's doing this thing, the ball
might not be moving as much, but when it starts
to as long as they're getting twenty six plus twenty
seven assists a game, that lets you know that it's moving.
Like guys don't really I mean, guys want to score,
but they want to touch that ball, you know, they

(25:45):
want to make a hockey assist. They want to be involved.
And I think JJ's done a really good job of,
you know, setting up an offense where you know it
might be a play for Jake Larevia and the next
time it might be the same play for Lebron James.
So it's like, I love their system and how they're
running their their plays and getting everybody involved. Really can

(26:08):
you know, can can be effective at time and you
still have your top three creating what they did last night.
It's just it's, you know, it's hard to stop that.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
You're talking about having greats on a team together, and
we've seen a lot of that more recently. You've been
on the court with a lot of greats. Along with
being one of the all time greats yourself, and everybody
seems to have a different approach. But I don't know,
maybe this year is different from last year. But it
just looks like Luka Doncic is having a great time.
He seems like a fun guy to be around and

(26:41):
a fun guy to play with. Does that come out
or stand out to you when you're watching the games?

Speaker 4 (26:48):
It does? You know a lot of people think he's
a he's an old veteran, but he's young, twenty six.
He's just not getting started, man. And and this is
the time that you know, guys start to peak around
twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine. So he's right there.
He's gotta love la he's gotta love the weather. He's

(27:10):
got to love, you know, being down in Manhattan Beach
in a nice mansion and the weather. He's he's adaptee,
the fans loving. Uh. He's always out pre game shooting
shots and very engaging. And he loves to entertain. He's
a he's an entertainer and and but but he's also serious.

(27:31):
Uh don't let that little smile for you. He's he's serious,
you know. And so, uh, we've seen greats here since
Jerry West and Baylor and you know Wilt, Kareem, Magic
Kobe and now Lebroad and now we got this this guy.
You know, it's just amazing that that we have him

(27:51):
and he's producing and he's I think he's started a
home hopefully James.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
A couple of days ago before this Clipper game, JJ
Reddick was asked at one of the media availability these
after practice about the twelve and four star. Now they're
thirteen and four after the win last night, but they
asked about the twelve and four star. You're just getting
Lebron back, and you know, how have you guys been
able to do it? And you know it's a different
guy almost every night. And you know, Lucas the one
constant and aar has kind of been up and down.

(28:15):
And he said, guys, just game the game. Are buying
in and we find a way every game. Is that
just the case of the NBA or is that something
guys are buying in to JJ's philosophy, Like one game
this it's gonna take this guy or this way to
win a game. The next game is going to be
completely different way to win a game.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
You got to win if you want to win a
championship again. Oklahoma is the measure. You know, they went
out Jaylen Williams, they would out Dark a little bit.
Doesn't matter who they put in. You put certain players
in around certain player, you're just plugging in, plugging in
guys that will play with Luca, you know, eight and out.

(28:54):
Jackson Hayes comes in, plays with with Luca, gets lobs, gets,
you know, get Some people say, uh, you know, Marcus
Smart comes in, he's a dog, right, we need that dog.
He comes in and you know, get steals and golf's charges.
You know, we have guys like Jacob Ravey who's like
super smart and starting to understand his role. And guys

(29:17):
just they've bought into their roles and that's that's only
indicative of what JJ has been telling them. And uh
so they they they're having fun, they like each other,
they monitor each other constructively, they don't mind taking criticism,
and they move forward and keep winning. So that's a
that's a good formula to start with.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
I ended up being a pretty good hire. It's James
Worthy joining us right now, Emmy Award winning broadcaster and
one of the best NBA players of all time. Before
we let you go, James, and a happy Thanksgiving to
you and your family, and we really are thankful for
the time we get to spend with you every week
during the basketball season. It's a big part of our
show and great for our listener and for us. Uh.

(30:02):
You got to see the Clippers. Uh, they are really
way below expectations this year. What were your impressions of that.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Team at the end of the season. I was telling people,
I was saying, the Clippers are going to be tough,
but I realized that when they trade their way Powell,
you know, sometimes you lose individual players, but you also
miss a piece of heart. They don't seem like they
have that that that that step yet. So I do

(30:37):
think there's a lot of potential there. But last night
the game was close one point two points, and then
the Lakers just seemed able to you know, make that
spread and get away from them quickly and easier than
they have in the pack. So I love Zubos, I

(30:57):
love you know, I love choyal of heart. I love
what they have. But they haven't found that that that
that click yet, that chemistry that they had, you know before,
So they still they still searching. They're still early, and
they're still searching real quick.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
James. Last night Chris Done push Luca and then Jackson
Hayes comes in and pushes Chris Done. And after the game,
Lucas says he's gonna pay the fine if Jackson Hayes
gets a fine. How cool is that to see? I know,
the game's different than it was when you play, but
a little push, a little back and forth never hurt anybody.
And to see Jackson Hayes come in and have Lucas back,

(31:34):
that's a nice little team bonding thing, right.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
Hell yeah, they don't mess with our guy. Yeah, that's
what we do. Man. You know, back in the day
it was like fifty bucks, you can knock the hell
out of somebody, you know, it wouldn't even get kicked
out of the game and just be like nothing. So yeah,
you gotta let him know that you're not gonna You're
not gonna just you know, push our main guy around.
And I like to see that, you know, we got

(31:58):
your back to a band of brother.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
I've seen more pushing in the men's room. The One
and only James Worthy, Ladies and gentlemen, He's the best
and nobody's better. Happy Thanksgiving James, and have a great days.
Taking the time out today.

Speaker 2 (32:13):

I'm gonna do it. The PSA, the Thanksgiving PSA.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
All right, let me text the people that are waiting
for it. Hold on, I got a group text going.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
That's not funny.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Or hold on PSA from p next Boom.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Got it? Maybe send it out on the Twitter. I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Done and done.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
We'll be right back. It's pinch your somebody on m
VI seventy LA Sports on a week just won't be

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Hello PMS listener, did you know AM five seventy LA
Sports has a wide range of LA sports podcasts. There's
Rogan and Rodney.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
That one is my favorite.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Dodger Talk with David Vasse, the Dodger podcast of record.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Clipper Talk without a musk, follow us all and many more.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Just go to AM five to seventy LA Sports on
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Petro's a Money shown live in local on this Wednesday afternoon.
No best dubs here have a great sports talk until
seventy o'clock Sports Talk to night. Petro Spapadekas, Tim Kates,
Matt Money Smith is on an early Thanksgiving vacation. Who
says nothing happens the day before Thanksgiving? Petros, We got

(33:50):
a signing in baseball, a big one.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Dylan Cees, formerly of the San Diego Padres, has agreed
to a seven year, two hundred and ten million dollar
deal with the Toronto Blue Jays. Wowee, so Dylan Sees

(34:15):
who was really the main guy in the Padres rotation
last year? Leaving the Padres and heading to the defending
AL champions the Toronto Blue Jays. Penny in the physical
They now got Kevin Gosman, Trey y Savage, Shane Bieber
and now Dylan Cees added at Toronto Blue Jays rotation

(34:36):
seven years, two hundred and ten million dollars.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Canada's got another thirst for the World Series. They didn't
get enough, right, Yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
They've been trying to bring up big free agents there.
They of course signed Vlad Guerrero to an extension, but
they missed out on Yamamoto, and they missed out on
show Hey Otani, they missed out on Aaron Judge a
few years ago.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
How much be Set is not going to be a
Toronto Blue Jay?

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Right, Yeah, you gotta wonder how much money is left
for boba shit. Maybe he comes out west and goes
to the San Francisco Giants who are maybe in the
running for boba shit. But yeah, who says. Nothing happens
the day before Thanksgiving here in the United States, A
big signing with the Toronto Blue Jays. Dylan Cees going
north of the border, by the way, against the Al

(35:22):
East rivals in the division. He has got an rray
over six against the Red Sox and an erra in
his career near five and a half against the New
York Yankees, so not very good against the teams. Now
he's in the division with in the Toronto Blue Jays.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
It's worth two hundred million dollars to them to add
him to their already venerable rotation, which was pretty beat up. Yeah,
by the time the Dodgers got to it in the
World Series. But then again, the Dodgers had no bullpen.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
All right, nothing happens the night before Thanksgiving Because.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Of this, It's the Petros Papadekas annual Thanksgiving public service announcement.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Thanksgiving, we can count wait to get together with the bros?
They said, what you think is a good idea? Really said,
I knew this a bad idea. Do you believe I'm
home for Thanksgiving? I can't wait to go out with
all my girlfriends and get drunk.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
So before you make the biggest mistake of your life,
let Petros talk some sense into you.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Here we go, all right, it is that time of year, Tim, Uh,
we've come to the Hey, it's night before Thanksgiving. Many
many people, young people, Tim will see comfort and fellowship
and nostalgia by going to a designated local bar where

(36:43):
people they went to high school with are gathering to
recapture something that was probably never actually there in the first.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Place, or it was something you thought was really great
and it really wasn't and you're reaching right now. All right,
well we'll be okay, sorry, sorry, I mean we'll get.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
To that all right, Sorry, sorry, sorry, I mean I'm
impressed with you pulling out that cease thing because if
I was here today alone, where there'd be no chance
that I would know or care that somebody signed ceas.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
All right, Pete's like the USC beat writer apologize in
the USC, I apologize for jumping the gun here.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
How about not apologizing for that. It's the most attention
you've ever got. Just wear it, you know.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
I want s He to win so bad. I just
I don't want any beef of the head coach. I
apologizees my god. Sorry.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
So anyway, you might know about a certain bar you're
supposed to go to tonight in your area. You might
even have a local high school busybody girl who connects
with people on social media and tells you where to go.
Either way, I have long discouraged this. The message has
changed over the years, but the general theme stays the same.

(37:59):
I have discouraged going out to see these people since
I was one of those people in my mid twenties
doing sports talk radio in the afternoon drive here in
Los Angeles, great sports talk. Do not go out and
see these people under these circumstances. You will regret going

(38:21):
out and chasing it tonight, you will regret the person
you became amongst the people who knew you when you
were young. You will chase it with alcohol, perhaps cigarettes.
In my time, there was many cigarettes. It is extremely

(38:42):
unlikely that you will reconnect with people that you want
to see. It is even more unlikely that you will
hook up with a curvacious beauty with big giant boobs
in her sweater who was unattainable during your teens and
bulbusy ass. These things will not happen. I'm enticed just

(39:06):
thinking about the sweater and the ass too. But it's
not gonna happen, and you shouldn't go out, I promise you.
I'm not saying that you might not get lucky in
a way, have a two minute limp puzzo, sad rump
in the bathroom or somewhere shameful like that. I'm just
saying you're not gonna be proud of yourself. It is

(39:30):
way better to make a decision to pack it in tonight.
If you want to see friends, see them during the day.
If you want to spend time with friends or family.
Believe me, I speak from experience. Don't walk the road

(39:50):
that I have walked. You've walked this road before. I'd
beg you not to walk it anymore, but I'm telling
you you will be humiliated. Do what I learned to
do so many years ago, back before it was a
cell phone that was quite expensive. Sink your phone on

(40:13):
the toilet for when people still had a landline. You
sink your phone and you don't call anyone. Protect the
dignity that you still have left. Stay out of the bars.
You made a fool of yourself as a young person,
and you know it. Must you repeat the offense. Have

(40:38):
some dignity for God's sake.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
I got a huge butt in here.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
And well, if you need to interject, if you feel
the need to interject it.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
And this was brought up to me. What if you're
a different person than you were in high school, maybe
better off, maybe better looking, maybe in better shape, maybe
a career, a couple of years out of college, or
or fifteen years out of college.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
Think about me. Okay, okay, I was not that cool
in high school.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Please star high school running back?

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Come on? Well, yeah, but I didn't. I graduated high
school a virgin. You know, people didn't think I was
going to go to college to let alone, play college
football and then create a media career. And I'm still
miserable if I go to these things. It's still terrible.

Speaker 4 (41:19):
True.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
I don't get to go floss and act cool. And
if I do, what kind of person does that make me?

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Take yourself out of the equation. What if somebody wasn't
cool in high school, didn't have that body in high school,
didn't have that money in high school, but now they
do a few years out of college, and.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
What kind of person does that make them that they're
gonna go swing their boots on in front of everybody.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Now they really want to show it off, right now?

Speaker 3 (41:40):
See them during the day. Don't be fortune's fool, keep yourself,
gird your loins, be the master of your own destiny.
Stay home and drink with your grandfather. Heed my warning,
do your best. Fight the fight, fight the nostalgia, because,

(42:02):
as I always say, in real life, we all suck.
I suck, you suck. Most likely in high school your
friends really sucked. And if you want to revisit that,
then good luck to you. You will be unhappy. Trust me,

(42:23):
trust me in my worldview.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Now, this is a great message for the young, but
what about the folks that are maybe I don't know, divorced,
still single in their thirties or forties. Petros and I
want a little rekendle.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
I think the designated bar the night before Thanksgiving is
the time to go reveal that you've divorced and you're alone.
You think you're gonna feel good about that. There's plenty
of places to connect with people that you used to
be friends with that are outside of tonight.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Yeah, but you don't see that guy or girl and
they're back at their parents' house in the South Bay
or an Orange County or the valley that can't happen
in Arizona, and they come back and live.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Out of town, then what are you?

Speaker 4 (43:01):
What good is it?

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Anyway?

Speaker 2 (43:02):
I'm just so happy to see him.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
Oh, just a limp puzzod romp in the bathroom like
the wrestler, be with family, especially with the old drink,
watch football and stare at the trees. And there's only
one thing worse than going to your high school reunion
and trying to reconnect with people the night before Thanksgiving?

Speaker 4 (43:27):
What's that?

Speaker 3 (43:29):
Going with your girlfriend to hers? Then you're a real
cut because you got to watch her talk to all
these guys talk to the old football star.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
That's Brad. Brad and I dated for two years.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Yeah, for the divorceiadas the singles. There's plenty of places
they know they can go to meet like minded people.
I'm telling you this is not what you want to
do or where you want to be. Telling you right now,
and that's it.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
Great message, and I think everybody should heed this warning.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
Oh really, you're on my side.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
I am one hundred percent on your side, whether you're
young or old, single, in a relationship, divorced, a widow, whatever. Listen,
it's not the nice message.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
This is not the night to reconnect with people that
you haven't seen in a long time. If it's a
controlled environment and somebody's coming to somebody's house and it's
different than a bar, then go ahead. But I'm telling
you right now, heed my warning. Now.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
So you are okay, if like say, somebody who's still
in the area has a house and everybody's going to have.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
Friends and you're still in touch, you know, like the
deer Hunter or something, Yeah, you know that's different. That's different, gotcha.
But if you go to a place where anybody, just
anybody can show up, you're going to be disappointed. I'm
telling you that right now from high school. My gosh, yeah,

(45:03):
well look at me. I'm gonna go back and show
them the how cool I am? I do sports talk
radio now didn't work out? Trust what I.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
Say, Petros, I know you don't remember me. I was
in your KYM class. I love How is your weekend?

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Man?

Speaker 2 (45:16):
That's a great segment.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
I mean I already lived here in town. I see
everybody that I've ever you know, i'd be people I
went to high school with that I don't know all
the time.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
Can we do like a bar roll call with listeners
like you guys used to do back in the day.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Okay, how about on the text o?

Speaker 3 (45:31):
So they're gonna do it anyway?

Speaker 4 (45:33):
Yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (45:34):
Where where do you go? O? Kate's Where do the
Burbank High School people go? The Burroughs?

Speaker 2 (45:39):
Excuse oh, there's the snug there is gosh, where else
is there? Tony's darts away?

Speaker 3 (45:48):
Okay, Roddy out of the well up on San Fernando
the Blue. I believe went to high school.

Speaker 5 (45:55):
Didn't go anywhere. I stay home.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
But I believe you went to the high school in
the San Gabriel era.

Speaker 5 (45:59):
Do you know where they uh, well, we used to
gather at the cemetery Rose Hills.

Speaker 3 (46:06):
That's creepy, oh Jesus, yeah, I mean it's something like that.

Speaker 5 (46:09):
Well, because we would pay respects to a friend that
had passed this. Has you asked there it is.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
I'm just saying like the you know, not just your group.
You know, like the bar, I wasn't.

Speaker 5 (46:24):
I wasn't a big hangout at a bar.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
Guy.

Speaker 5 (46:26):
I wasn't that guy. Sorry, Well out.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
Here it's the Redondo, Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach, Tennessee's
you think that's funny, do you?

Speaker 4 (46:40):
Case? Uh?

Speaker 2 (46:43):
Good time?

Speaker 3 (46:44):
Word number, Song of the day coming up next, there's
your ps A. We got a lot coming up. We
still have Carson Palmer who's going to join us. He's
coaching in the championship against our guest on Monday, Matt Logan.
We still have a great deal of great sports talk.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
