like a rapper or something that was not written by
that Calabassis looking crew that threw down the Lebron can
Still Dunk song. And then, even more to my amazement,

Speaker 3 (05:50):
So we te So what do you think of that?
Speaker 2 (05:55):
I'm all right with that. See that's pretty good ramp. Yeah,
you likes pretty good rap, all right? Homo serracha and
the parent express. Yeah, Asians, proud of your hometown.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
My mom went our Katie High. She's white as a ghost.

special red on yellow background license plate that allows you
to have limited driving privileges, like just to and from work,
to and from picking up your kids. But everybody knows
you're a drunk In Jersey. The punishment, obviously, in addition
(07:31):

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Time for quick hits. Everybody ms quick hits.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
I'll make it quick, y'all.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, second round of the NFL Draft is happening, Matt.
What's the update.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Well, we got a couple picks that came off the board.
We mentioned Mason Taylor. Forty nine Ers took Alfred Collins,
the big six foot six tackle. A lot of Texas
Cowboys get incredible value. A lot of people thought Donovan
as a rock with the edge out of Boston College,
was a top twenty pick. He gets to the Cowboys
after they took the guard Tyler Booker at number twelve.
At forty four, the Colts take Touey Molau. I think
(08:49):
that's how you say his name. Everybody calls him Towey,
the big edge out of Ohio state, and the Rams
pick is in. They are going to take Terrence ferguson
the hight end out of Georgia. So no Shador Sanders
for the Rams. The Raiders, we'll pick in a couple
selections here. We'll keep an eye on that, and then
(09:09):
the Chargers will be up at number fifty five.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Chargers first round yesterday took running back on Marion Hampton
out of North Carolina. The Rams traded out of the
first round, sending the twenty sixth pick to Atlanta, and
last night was the first round and a celebration for
the players who were picked. However, for were not a
great night for former NFL running back Adrian Peterson. He's
(09:33):
had some trouble who was arrested at five am this
morning in Minnesota and charged with fourth degree DWI. No
vanity played for him if he was in New Jersey,
exactly right. He had attended the Minnesota Vikings public draft
party Thursday night at us Bank Stadium and they were
waiting for him, those Minnesota cops.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Can we can we get Adrian Peterson a car Vikings
maybe and the history of your.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Friends maybe they tried to and he broke their tackle
and ran away. Oh yeah, he's got that ability.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
He certainly does.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
The Dodgers are sixteen and nine back at home, six
game homestand huge game tonight Pittsburgh Pirates pitching matchup.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
That everybody wants to see. Yoshi Yamamoto and.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Paul Skis.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Skates And do you think Livy Dunn's gonna be here
tonight in La?
Speaker 2 (10:28):
I mean it's La, It's Yamamoto. It's a Friday night, right, Like, I.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Know where Yamamoto's going after the game from one of those.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Sweet Boba places. A freaking sixty cents sixty six, young,
wild and free. That's right to.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yamomomo, Yamamomo Yamamoto, clocking in with the second best in
Major League Baseball point nine three ERA. Meanwhile, Schemes a
little bit of a stumble out of the gate two
and two record, but still a pretty damn stellar two
eight seven er. So gonna be awfully exciting out there
(11:16):
at Dodger Stadium tonight, I dare I say considerably more
exciting than the snoops fest that was the second half
of Lakers Timberwolves playoff basketball.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Well, we'll see what happens tonight. Game Tips off in
an hour. The Angels are at five hundred. They're in
Minnesota taking on the Twins. As we speak, Adrian Peterson
crashed into their hotel. The Lakers and Timberwolves.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
I'm sorry, that's misinformation.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
The t Wolves a game three in an hour in Minneapolis,
series tied at one. The Clippers and house Nuggets Game
four tomorrow at into a Dome. Clippers are two and
one with a series lead there and that's a three
o'clock tip off on The Eagles beat Am eleven fifty.
(12:02):
And good news for Elijah Arenas, Matt this was a
scary story. Yeah, but he's doing better.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Single car accident, one of the top prep players in
the nation going to USC, son of Gilbert Arenas, and
is they put him into They put him into an
induced coma after his car crash, and apparently it's because
the car was engulfed in flames and had some serious
smoke inhalation concerns. So they say he's recovering and it
(12:31):
sounds like things are turning toward the better. So great
news there, because certainly he had to be extracted from
the cars pretty gnarly crashed, So hopefully Elijah is all right.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
That's right. We hope that he's all right, and we'll
be right back with David Vase.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
The latest from Dodger Stadium on am I seventy LA Sports,
Your Home of Dodger Baseball, Big Matchup tonight, Home.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Of the Dodgers, Your World Series Champion Dodgers Big One Tonight.
Yamamoto Versus is gonna get to that in the moment
with David Vasse. Update on your NFL draft. The Raiders
just keep adding picks, really moving and manipulating the board.
They have traded down again. The Houston Texans takeover number
forty eight to take the tackle out of Minnesota ariante
(13:16):
ursery Will Johnson finally went a top ten talent out
of Michigan, but that knee injury concerns had him slide
all the way to forty seven. He goes to the Cardinal.
So the Raiders now have picks fifty eight, sixty eight,
ninety eight and ninety nine, four picks in the top
one hundred and what is considered to be a very
deep draft piece, so certainly exciting for the Raider fans
(13:36):
as they need to restock that roster.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
The Home of the Dodgers is with an inside look
at the Dodgers. This is the Vass Report, with David
Vasse joining.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
Us right now, back from Texas and Chicago, enjoyed a
night at Universal Studios and fed the TV truck today
and advance of his appearance on Spectrum Sports Net for
the week next week. It is the one and only
David Vase, our Dodger reporter MLB TV as well. He's
(14:13):
got Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck as Tim Kates is
coming back from his daughter's graduation handling all business tonight
for a great pitching matchup. It is David Vasse on
your Southern California tell you to inner celebrity hotline, Dave,
how's it going? Does anybody else ever feed the truck?
I mean, my goodness, Dave.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
I'm not sure about that, but man, it's like those
people have not eaten in weeks.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
It's it's like the radio station. The truck guys are freaks.
It felt that way.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
It felt like I was dropping off and it was
a feeding frenzy in the truck of Sportsnet La. Mike
Leevey's got to feed those people a little bit more often,
but yeah, heavy handed. Great guys from the eight one
eight great the Greatest Burgers. Yeah so good, Max and
Danny big fans of the show, big fans of Dodger baseball.
They got three locations, played high school football one of them.
(15:07):
Two of them said, you used to call their games,
whether it was on TV or during the challenge. And
it's heyday, So they're big fans.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Nice, beautiful, Dave, What a benevolent soul you are taking
care of the people that far too many people take
for granted, not taking for granted tonight, perhaps a Cy
Young Award winning preview on the mound. How big is
this matchup, Dave? As somebody who loves baseball loves the
pitching matchups. Skemes versus Yamamoto. Does it get better than this?
Speaker 5 (15:39):
It does not get better than this. These are the
two guys that I predict will have the highest vote
total for the National League Cy Young this year. And
we all know Major League Baseball and the whole media
conglomerate of Major League Baseball, they all seem to latch
on to a certain player, whether it's Christian Yelich one year,
(16:01):
Yelly versus Belly, Paul Skeens is the media darling for
Major League Baseball so I'm just hoping if it's close
and Yamamoto is better than him, they give Yamamoto the votes.
But I heard you talking about this earlier, Matt, And yes,
Skeenes' record doesn't reflect how good he's been because the
Pirates have not given him any run support. The last
(16:24):
time Skeens pitched, the Pirates were shut out, and last
year when Skeens pitched for the Pirates they were fifteen
to eight. When he did not pitch, they were sixty
one and seventy eight. So you know they're not a
good team, and Skeens basically tries to carry them over
the finish line every five days.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
The One and Only David Vassi is any rumors about
Livy Dunn, the hot girlfriend gymnast from LSU in the.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
House, Maybe she'll be sitting next to Anthony Anderson, you
never know?
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Or Rob low is Anthony. That's Anthony anthwiss is the
guy from Kangaroo Jack, right.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Yeah, and Blackish he lost He lost a bunch of weight,
but his head remained the exact same song.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
It's Lollipop guy.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Yeah, he's the biggest lollipop that ever lived. He looks
like the guy from the regulars show, Like unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
My gosh, is Will Smith back on the lineup?
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Dave?
Speaker 3 (17:20):
What's going on with him? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (17:22):
I don't know if you guys caught this last week
with your fake shingles and Matt doing draft stuff. But
Will Smith on a play at the plate in the
first game in Chicago, tagged out Ian Happu and was
not in the starting lineup the last day in Wrigley
because he kind of bent his left hand a little
awkwardly on the tag, So they gave him a day
(17:45):
off and he is back in the starting lineup tonight,
So Dodgers. Dodgers dodged a big bullet there, because he's
turned into one of the best catchers as far as
throwing runners out and also offensively, hands down, he's the
best offensive catcher in baseball this year, so he he
is very valuable to what the Dodgers are doing so far.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
What about the other half of the late inning battery, Dave?
Are these guys already overworked?
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Like what?
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Or is it just part of being in the bullpen?
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Like?
Speaker 2 (18:18):
What do you attribute these last I mean, it's kind
of feels like it's been all season that that you know,
Tanner Scott or Kirby Yates roll out there, and I
don't feel like it's a lot that they're gonna get
these three outs they need to get.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Without a doubt.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Last weekend or two weekends ago, when we were in Texas,
even on a night that Tanner Scott saved the game,
he was very lucky because there was a lot of
hard contact in Max months. He made a couple of
great plays in the ninth inning, or he would have
blown a save in Arlington as well. And I was
standing next to Elvis Andrews, who is going to be
inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame, a really good
(18:52):
player in his day, and he faced Tanner Scott and
he told me, you know, when I was playing, I
used to love to see left handed pitchers, being a
right handed hitter, but Tanner Scott was a lefty I
did not like to see because his fastball had so
much life, his slider had so much bite. And what
he saw that Friday night in Arlington from Tanner Scott,
(19:14):
he said, look very ordinary. And for whatever reason, the
fastball velocity has been down for Tanner Scott. He doesn't
have the bite on the slider. He has not looked
as dominant as he looked the last two seasons, so
I'm not sure what's going on with him. But Jose
Mota brought up a very interesting suggestion. Maybe it's time
to table Tanner Scott as the closer, and since Evan
(19:38):
Phillips's back, bring him in and let him be the guy.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
David Vassey feeding the masses today like Jesus with the
fish and the bread.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Heavy handed burgers.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
And there's one in Santa Monica, one in Studio City,
and one pretty close by in Silver Lakey.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
So that's the one I picked up about today.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Fabulous Dave, just Foust, we could meet if you get
over the shingles or whatever.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
You all right? You know what? That's not kind, Dave.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Well, I think he's just acknowledging perhaps the ailment that
afflicted you earlier.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
He's in a nons on in a very cavalier way,
and I'm not appreciate too.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
I mean, it's ringing the alarm bell a little bit
too early when you go to a doctor and they
say you have shingles.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Okay, thanks, Dave, got a better doctor on the hill
I did three days later.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Uh, Dave? Overall with Otani.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
I mean, we're like the old Dodger trainer that said
Andre Ethier did not have a fractured fibula when he
was riving in pain on the floor, just like during
a spring training game, and just said, you know what,
you know, just uh, he'll be ready in a couple
of days.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
That's what I thought of when that's the when I
was misdiagnosed, the first thing I thought of was Ethear's fibula.
That's exactly, Dave. Uh, what what do you think's wrong
with Otani? Baby creek keeping him up? Yeah, I know, right,
sleep deprived. I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Mommy calling at all hours when he's on the road.
What's going on? Dare?
Speaker 4 (21:03):
One thing I'm not sure about that. One thing is
how do you say slump in Japanese?
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Dave.
Speaker 5 (21:09):
I'm gonna find out Petos and I'm going to get
back to you on that. I'm gonna find out how
to say slump and fake shingles.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
I'll let you know on Monday. Anyway.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
Anyway, he's a guy that is chasing exit.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Velocity right now.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
I mean those swings that he took in Chicago and
on Sunday in Texas, those are swings that are trying
to hit the ball as hard as he can, as
far as he can, and Dave Roberts said, he believes
that he's over aggressive right now, and that's hard to
disagree with. He's kind of questioning the strike zone, questioning
(21:47):
strikes by the umpire. He's not seeing the ball well,
and I think it comes back to him just trying
to do too much instead of taking a walk, moving
the line or staying within himself. Chicago, he had a
golden opportunity to help the Dodgers get a lead, second
and third, two outs. They don't need a three run
home run to you know, Waveland Avenue. All they needed
(22:11):
was a base hit and he was trying to head
it to you know, over Lake, Michigan. So I think
if he just stays within himself, he'll he'll get back
on track.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
The one and only David Vase working hard tonight on
Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck and Dodger Clubhouse and Dodger
Talk David Vasse in the mix and then look for
him on television next week. Have a great night, Dave,
thanks for doing it. Enjoy the pitching matchup in the game.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Thank you guys.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
And I can't wait to dangle your your skinner report
on Ashton Genty to Blake Trinan, who's a big Boise
State fan and also a Kansas City Chiefs fan. I'm
gonna just run that down his throat like Jant's gonna
run it down the Chief's throat all season long.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah, I'm glad that Dave's excited at the
end of.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
Tell them to take tell them to take Pacheco and
shove it up his app Yeah. All right, we'll be
right back if you're dead and a live guide Birthday
of the Day, and then we'll get to the Dodger gate.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Now Dodgers on deck coming up very next segment, top
of the hour. Big thank you to David Vasa. They're
exciting one tonight. Yamamoto versus Schiens NFL Draft update. Really
only news worth mentioning is UCLA's Olade Joe the Edge
ends up getting selected by the Titans, so congratulations to him.
(23:32):
He goes fifty second overall, the nineteenth pick of the
second round, So Olada Jo and schweesssinger off the board
for UCLA here in the second round.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
All right, that is the latest and it is now time,
Well you know that.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
What's sorry? All right, that's the latest.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
In just a moment, we're gonna get to David Vase
with Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Paul
Skeens the pitching matchup tonight Dodgers versus Buccaneers, And.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Don't forget tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Preston Smith singing Sensation, superstar of Orange County and beyond,
known in the Beach Cities, is singing the national anthem
for Dodgers Buccaneers Saturday, probably around five point forty five
(24:26):
or something, so look forward to that, and don't forget
about Wango Tango, presented by Fiji Airways, is Saturday May tenth,

live performances by Doja Cat, Gwen Stefani, Meghan Trainor and
so many more. Get your tickets now at AXS dot com.
(24:50):
Prices go up May second. Oh you don't want prices
go off? Jeez?
Speaker 3 (24:54):
All right, Matt, it is time for the Dead Guy.
Birthday of the Day.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Yeah, and uh before the Dead Guy pe Real Quick
Chargers just made their pick. They take the wide receiver
from Ole Miss Trey Harris, big outside wide out X
receiver with the fifty fifth pick. So there you go.
They cash it in. They get the running back in
the first round, the wide receiver in the second. Well,
we are your whistleblower, show of records. So a big
(25:19):
happy would have been eighty seventh to Roger beaujolais American
mechanical engineer, fluid dynamicist, and arrow dynamicist. Born in the
hard scrabble city of Lowell, Massachusetts.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
It's father you know who's from Lowell, Matt.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Who's from low.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Jack Carrowacoo.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Lowell was the side of WFNX, the cool alternative station
out there in Boston.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
His father was a mill It's also the home of
WOTR W.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
On the road.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
There you go, h He had a big brain, no
mit for the blue collar raised raj Instead bougelet study
mechanical engineering at ums Lowell, local spot, top of his class,
landed a gig those are that's right, we linger he
loses used aircraft company in western mass made enough of
(26:24):
an impression that some California aeronautical companies came colling. So
he made his way out here for work. Got into
the Space Race worked on a number of projects, including
lunar module, life support systems, and the Moon vehicle. Hey,
we're gonna put a freaking car on the moon, all right.
We're gonna do donuts up there, and I'm gonna make
it pretty much. Things that only Gail King can relate
to we can't. But she could.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Let me ask you something. Yeah, have you been in space?
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I happened, Dale, That's that's not cool. He uh. He
got a gig at Morton Thiacle, the manufacturer of the
SRBs for the Space Shuttle solid rocket boosters. So what
does our man Roger discover? In July nineteen eighty five,
after a Shuttle mission and a memo he circulated to
his higher ups, he raised concerns during his investigation of
(27:11):
the January nineteen eighty five flight that he discovered the
first of a system of two O rings had failed
completely and that damage had been caused to the second
O ring. By design, pressure from within the booster was
to push the O ring into a seal in its seat,
but the system did not function as designed, and as
the joints flexed it was unsealed. Hot gases could escape.
(27:33):
The hot gases damage the rings until the seal was achieved.
He added, cold weather made the rubber hard and less flexible,
and if the O rings were damaged enough, they could
fail catastrophically, with an almost instantaneous explosion of gargantuan proportions,
resulting in the complete loss of the shuttle and crew.
Boujelt sent a memo describing the problem to his managers.
It was ignored.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
And look, you could get all technical, ok yeah, but
when Perry's holding little.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Flower on camera, that's space. Okay, I can't.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
I can't see.
Speaker 4 (28:05):
You can talk about your O rings and your explosions
and your cold air, but that's not what it's really
all about. It's about taking up space and making space.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
That's right. Here's your local angle, though. P. When Bojelt
left Morton Farecall, he took fourteen boxes containing every note
in paper he received or sent over seven years, and
in May of twenty ten, he donated all of his
personal memoranda six boxes of papers, memos, notes from his
congressional testimony to Chapman University's Right. They are all cataloged
(28:38):
and archived there, and you can view each and every
one of them if you attend the Chapman or if
you visit the Chapman University.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Lebrary so exonerated by history, but career ruined by a
warning that should have been.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Heated exactly right, mistle blower.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
That's too bad.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
Thank god that that memory of the Challenger has been erased.
The Blue Origin flight just last week, I mean, just
the greatest thing ever, right, like, not since the Challenger.
I'd think if we even had a woman in space,
I'm pretty sure right there wasn't some lady out there.
Wasn't a lady with a big afro floating around stuck
(29:15):
up there for six months or something. Wasn't it supposed
to be three days. I'm just saying, Matt, you'all be
into space, all right, Matt cabrean American recording artist Jay Park.
Look how excited Colin Ye is even though he's not
even Korean, not a drop of Korean blood in him.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
It's cool. That's why he's head so small. J Park
is thirty eight.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Unlike the large head of mel Kiper that took up
the entire screen because.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
He was screaming angry mel Kiper, angry, Joel Klatt, angry
Lewis Riddick.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Fun acceptable well maybe a rest easy now moving forward.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
J Park born in Seattle, Wrap singer, songwriter, producer, dancer
thirty eight. Today Matt will have minimal titles. But this
guy's got a story. Okay, he's got that story.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
He's got neck tattoos.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
He's one of the only K pop idol types to
be accepted into the extremely exclusive South Korean underground hip
hop culture community.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
You know how hardcore that is, dude, So he you
know what the bee buys are like in soul.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
He's street light and spotlight.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Just like Kawhi. He was in a Seattle bee boy crew.
He entered a dancing contest and got sucked in by
a South Korean entertainment fetus bladder farm.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Yes, went to Dan Kookie.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Entertainment University Let's Go Bears, and became a star in
the K pop band two PM.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
But what happened Matt a huge scandal.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
While he was first in Korea on MySpace, he made
some disparaging remarks about the country to a friend when
he first.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Came because he was lonely.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
This was translated unfairly, some say, and it led to
a huge boycott, like a real boycott, like even more
than the Koreans outside when they pissed John and Ken
pissed him off.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Oh that was a big deal. They called out the
beat kids. This was globed. This trended globally. People were
really pissed.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
So he left.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
So he's an American dude, he is, So he left Korea, gotcha?
Speaker 4 (31:34):
And then there was a change in sentiment and there
were then boycotts to bring it back.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
There were even flyovers like fire Steve Alford style over
in Korea and in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
This was two thousand and nine.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
He was trending on Twitter internationally over the oscars, which
were the same day. All right, kill the music. We
do have some titles, Matt. You could just tell me
horns or crickets.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Okay, you don't have to sing. Don't worry. I know
it's serious Draft day. You want to be serious? I do.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
I need to be taken seriously, all right.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
First title, Immortal Songs two, Crickets un Pretty Rap Star two.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
That's a horn an I'm Pretty Rap Star two two.
First season, such a success.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
William hung horns and that's a true.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
To one of the fine singers of our time in space.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Thank you for listening everybody.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
