Sports Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app and a special
installment of pmses. We are live on location the Bolt
and El Segundo site of the Los Angeles Chargers training camp.
It just concluded and as we get ready to go
to Dodgers' Cardinals from the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth, a
first pitch at seven to ten, Dodgers on deck at

(01:06):
six p on this MODELO Micheal out of Monday. We're
gonna have quite the parade of fancy guests.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
Yeah, well, we do have some Dodger love after the
long road trip, which wasn't.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
A disaster five and four. We'll take it.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Yeah, sure, and that's Ryan Gomes the GM and the
Dodgers is gonna join us in the final hour. But
we got a Charger fanfare throughout. This is a much
different scene than we experienced last year when this was
a brand new building. They got people out here, they
got VIPs, there's fans, there's swells. There's a beautiful wait

(01:40):
staff serving red velvet cakes I.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Saw, but joining us salad over there. There's a lot
of beautiful food.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
We just don't see that kind of thing usually you
don't think of that, like as an NFL siesta.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
There's like a chef back there.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
But joining us right now is Rashaan Slater, a real champion.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
That's true of the offensive line.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Man, wow, man, break down.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Now, there's two kinds of people that get paid in
the world of the NFL. There's the quarterback and then
there's that one guy on the offensive line that protects
the quarterback. And this young man at a Northwestern never
had to play by the league, but he would have if.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
He had to.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
He is joining us on your Southern California Toyota neither
celebrity hotline. Just signed a big contract quite simply one
of the best left tackles in all of football, and
that's a big deal. Mister Slater. It's great to have you.
Thanks for joining the show so early and thanks for
being patient waiting for the start. Did you like the intro?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Everything?

Speaker 6 (02:39):
You would be loved it?

Speaker 5 (02:41):
For you a guy who's been doing this a while
known as a consummate professional.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
What do you work in training camp?

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Do you go in with certain goals about how you
want to be or is it more about just getting
through it?

Speaker 7 (02:53):
I mean, how do you approach it? No, definitely a
lot to work on. I feel like it starts every
year with like the offseason films. You know, you go
in with an idea of what you can do better
and then it's not like basketball, you know, you can't
really scrimmage in the off season, so you show up
you can't. Yeah, it's your first time really hitting anybody
in months. So uh definitely had like a break in
period for sure, and you know, just get better every day.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
That is interesting though, because you know you watch football practice.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
And you know the one on ones.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
You know, you guys all go over there and everybody's
pulling up their pants and getting ready and you do
your stuff. Is there anything you can do in the
off season to work that kind of stuff?

Speaker 7 (03:30):
Yeah, I mean you can work the technique and you know,
you get stronger, prove your core, get your body feeling right,
but there's really nothing you can do to replicate you know,
Cleil maclure rushing you on the first day pad. You know,
it's just like something you gotta go through.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
So uh yeah, when you're watching like the Hall of Fame,
like you said, you you want to get through that.
When you're watching the Hall of Fame game on the sidelines,
are you you've got getting little juice in you as
you're watching kind of guys running you are?

Speaker 7 (03:54):
Definitely? Yeah, very exciting stuff. That was a great, great
atmosphere too. It was like a high school football.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
So we were we were talking about it when we
got back on the show on Friday after we went
to the game, and he said to think that like
Dan Fouts. We ranted to Dan Fouts and he was saying,
like when I played in the Hall of Fame game,
it was still just a high school stadium. Yeah, like
and then they built that whole thing out. It was
packed with people. You guys got to walk through the
Hall of Fame. It seemed like a pretty special day
for you guys.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Definitely very special and uh yeah, just reminded me of
like the you know what when everyone starts playing football
back in high school, like it was it was really cool.
And then uh yeah, definitely a lot of energy and
uh it was fun to watch them do their thing.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
So when do you start, you know, ramping up and
going out there and and taking some reps. When do
you guys start talking like live reps you know, in
the preseason or do you do that at all?

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Uh? One of those conversations like is it a negotiation?

Speaker 7 (04:44):
Uh no, no, no, no, we've been going out of it.
You know, we've been ramping up. Uh. You know, coach
didn't want us playing in that first game. I'm not
sure what his plan is going forward, but you know,
we trust me. We've been getting the reps. You know,
we've been we've been live, we've been we've been ramming
it up. It's been good.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Do you still remember your your first one on one rep?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I do.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
It's Joey Bosa. Yeah, right, that was your first ever
as a rookie, your first one on one in paths
with Joey Bosa and you ended up standing him up.
What did you like going back to that? Can you
can you remember your mindset? Like when that was all
going down.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Man, I'm just trying to trying to do my technique,
was it?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
No?

Speaker 7 (05:18):
I was like, okay, this is a That was one
of the comforting things early on. I was like, Okay,
this is one of the best players in the NFL.
He's getting you know, he's getting commensated a lot for
what he does. So you know, if I lose, I'm
gonna get better, right, But like it's not exactly to
win right now, but if I win, you know, that's.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
A really good thing.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Did you choke him out?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
No?

Speaker 6 (05:38):
You did a lot of back and forth Joey. Joey
made me a lot better.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
But I mean having the opportunity to practicing against guys
like that, Like, I can't even quantify how important that's
been for me and joe and all of us.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Gonna we talk about how every year has a personality.
Every camp has a personality, and you know you remember
him throughout your life, even if it's youth football, you know,
all the way through. But every offensive has a personality.
I mean, and every offensive line is so much different
than a group of dbs or or a running back
room of a bunch of weirdos. I mean, an offensive

(06:10):
line is a real thing and a real brotherhood. How
would you describe it at the pro level as opposed
to you guys at Northwestern?

Speaker 7 (06:19):
You know, definitely a lot of different flavors throughout the league.
I've heard, you know, from guys coming through that we
have a very good group, very chill group. You know,
we're friendly guys, but like a brotherhood, like you said,
like we do everything together, we eat our meals together,
you know, we get you know, it's it's it's it's
really special. I'm glad to be here.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
How what you know we hear about quarterbacks. Hey, they
flew to this place and they're they're working with the quarterback.
It seems like some guys are following you down to
Texas in the off season that you kind of have something.
What is it that you have going on down there?
And and how does that help. If guys are working
out together in the off season.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
Yeah, it's great.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
You know, I've been training with my guy, Duke many
Weather down there since before I was a rookie, and
you know, I just get a lot of every single year.
Went back again this year, Zion started going with me,
some of the guys, Trey Pipkins.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
It's great.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
You know, it's great work, and it's just good to
be able to. Like, like I said, you can't really
scrimmage in the offseason, but if you can be, if
I can be with Zion and we can work our
techniques together, uh that's gonna give us an advantage.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
So you know, definitely, uh, definitely value that a lot.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Walk As you can tell by the way I'm built,
I would be terrified to have to hit somebody. But
but you and Joe we get the micd up stuff,
which is great. And when you guys come off the
field in games, it seems like you genuinely like that.
It's not work, it's it's genuinely something that two of
you really enjoy. You'll have these extended conversations that we
get to peek into about how you got to hit

(07:41):
somebody and how much joy that brings the two of you.

Speaker 7 (07:45):
Yeah, you know, I think me and Joe are both
pretty like laid back guys. But I think, uh, you know,
it's just a competitive nature of football, Like you're obsessed
with your craft and you want to be the best
at it, and he definitely has that. And you know,
we have a lot of fun, just like talking about
technique and you know what, what what we saw, what
we felt, what we did.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
You know it especially, and I'm really thankful to have
that relation. Hiplum.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Do you like living in Los Angeles? I do you do?

Speaker 5 (08:08):
I mean you're because some guys, you know, they come
from Texas and they just can't wait to be back
in Texas. They just don't they don't fit in out here.
And then some guys they come out here and they
never want to go back, you know. And we don't
have the screw music, but we have a lot to offer.
Uh what do you like most about living out here?
Other than the weather?

Speaker 7 (08:27):
You say, other than the weather? That was not such
a huge selling point.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
But everybody says that, Like the people want to know
maybe they can find you at a burrito place or something,
you know, and go to the.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
Water pretty easily. I think right now, we're like fifteen
minutes away even that.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
Yeah, I grew up in Texas and I love shallout Houston,
you know, but like if I want to go to
the beach, was like an hour long drive to Galveston
and then if you might not be able to get
in the water beautiful beach.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, and there's a lot of room on the Gulf
to go. What about the water? Do you go in
or do you just admire it from afar? Are you
all right with the ocean? Do you have a good
relationship with the Pacific oce?

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Yeah, I'm cool with it. Uh.

Speaker 7 (09:08):
After I did my contract, my family went down there
and I jumped in. It was one Okay, I saw
a couple of seeing rays, So yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
Definitely. Uh, I pick and choose when I go over it.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
It is kind of weird, you know because when you
have like a high profile job like you, you know,
everybody knows how much money you make. And uh, you
know we do that with the baseball players too. Those
guys make a lot of money and uh and even
if they stop playing, they still get paid forever.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
It's crazy. Uh, do you have to buy stuff for
the old line.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
Guys, did they say do they call you like Daddy
Warbucks and you know, get it, get it, get a
helicopter to block out the sun today because it's hot.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
How does that? You know?

Speaker 5 (09:46):
I mean, because everybody knows. We're not gonna say anything
about it. But you know, everybody knows that you've made
a lot of money. So I mean, I don't know,
how does that You walk around with that number over
your head or do people talk about it?

Speaker 1 (09:56):
No?

Speaker 6 (09:57):
You know, this is not how I was raised. You know,
I try to.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
I don't even know, like I'm doing the same things
now as I was before. You know, I probably get
a lot of food on oure eats.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
But other than that, you know, nothing's really changed.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
You.

Speaker 7 (10:13):
Yeah, but uh no, you know, they don't ask for
anything good Christmas comes around. Maybe I think actually bos
Boz was the only one who asked for something. He
wanted me to buy my cow and he'll name it
after me.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah, and then will he slaughter the cow and give
you the meat.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
He's not allowed to slaughter?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Oh really, okay, because you know that's like a thing like, hey,
we're all gonna buy a cow and when it's slaughtered,
you're gonna get no guy.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
He's gonna be a bull. Uh, he's gonna We're gonna.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Put himut to step.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
He buy me a cow? Are you gonna buy him
the cow?

Speaker 6 (10:43):
I'm definitely gonna buy the cow. We're pretty excited about that.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Where do you buy it?

Speaker 7 (10:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (10:48):
I'm relying on him to tell you.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
He's gonna take care of all.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
You gotta take care of it.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
What about speaking of food, Not that we want you to.
You know, I'm sure you love all the places that
you frequent and you want to give all of them amnia,
But is there something that you're like, I just can't
get this out here, and it's in Texas and I
love It's one of the things I love going back
to Texas for so I can eat this and if
because you know, he said you got that number over
your head, it's like you can just open your own
place and like, hey, you want to move out to

(11:11):
LA I want this food called Wells Mom right, like.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Exactly right, like like Jamari called Wells Mom bless to
be the best South Carolina soul food.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
One thing I haven't seen much of out here is barbecue,
like good barbecue, you know, what I trained in Dallas.
There's a place called Hudsions that's so good. Okay, it's
one of the best I've had. I would say that's
that's really the thing. That's the one right there. Barbecue,
trying to find the right barbecue, trying to find it.
If you got it, let me know.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I mean you look close to him in the South Bay.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
I's a place in Redondo Beach that's behind one of
them liquor stores, and it's like really hard to find,
and it's right by Beryl.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
I think I'll find it. I'll find I'll slide into
your DMS.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
There we go, mister Slater, Thank you so much, appreciate it.
Imaginations on all you succeeds or Sean, God bless you.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
There he goes, quite simply one of the greatest left
tackles in the game.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Champion charge. There's the Here we go, I got off.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
There's your cow. That's the that's the art of radio.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
That's it. That's here we do. Here we get sounded.
Thank you for Sean. All right, are we just gonna
keep him rolling? Matt?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I think so yeah. Oh geez, Trey's already here.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
That's Trey Harris rookie wide receiver second round, got an
old miss.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
He's so buttoned up, man, I'll tell you. I interviewed
him in front of the season ticket holders and uh
and something I got something in my throat, you know,
like I got this itch. And he could tell that
I wasn't gonna be able to ask a follow up question.
So he just kept stretching and he was and he
looked at me and he's like, oh. I was like, yeah,
we're good. I mean, that's that's what the level of.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
I just let him die.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I'd be like, hey, what's going on man? You And
I'm like, kind you mean to say you're no Daisy.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
Trey Harris on your Southern California Toyota Dealer Celebrity Hotline
on the Petro said Money Show. This guy played quarterback
in high school, but with Elik Neighbors. Yeah, a wide receiver,
but like like many, like many quarterbacks, he found his
way to the perimeter. And now he's a star, a
star for the Chargers in camp and we're happy to
see him. And uh, the talk of training camp, that's

(13:30):
what they say creating bro. And you want to you know,
you want people to talk about you. As opposed to
you know, just saying, hey, who's that guy. Yeah, welcome
to the show and thank you for doing it.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
How's it going.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
It's going good man.

Speaker 9 (13:41):
You know, I'm enjoying it finally here, you know, really
just getting ready to get ramping up for the season.
And you know, just like you're saying, it's good that
we talked about during you know, training camp, but you know,
the ultimate goales we talked about during the season.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
You know, I remember being a high school recruit going
into college and how you were scared your whole like
that whole last year in high school, thinking about what's
college football gonna be?

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, and one of these guys is gonna do to me?

Speaker 5 (14:06):
And then you get there and you know, you try
to act hard and puffed up, but you know it's scary,
you know, at the pro level, you know, I mean,
of course you've been spending a long time in college.
People knew you're gonna play pro football. Is it like
you thought it would be? Is it Is it better
than you thought it would be? Is it different than
you thought.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
It would be?

Speaker 9 (14:26):
It's definitely, I'd definitely say it's better and different for sure.
You know, you don't know what you're getting into til
you get into it, to be completely honest with you.
And one thing, one thing I've learned, especially throughout this
whole process, is not being afraid to not know what
you don't know. And I feel like that comes with
you know, really about really in life, and especially with
the NFL, because there's a lot of things you just

(14:47):
simply don't know unless you go out there and go
through it and go through that certain situation. So for me,
that's definitely the different, the different and difficult part. The
better part for me is just how everybody's on the
same the same page as in, everybody's trying to take
care of body, everybody's taking a step a step up
above and everything else, especially like from coming out of college,
you know, not everybody's necessarily on the same headspace. Now

(15:07):
everybody's trying to get better than everybody's trying to, you know,
do what they gotta do.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
But I.

Speaker 8 (15:13):
But I'll here, man, I'll be honest.

Speaker 9 (15:14):
But everybody's out here with the same goal and necessarily
just get better as a player and as a man.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Every single day you always hear, you know, the fans
take a trip, want to go to a football game,
and Oxford's always like at the top, all you gotta
go see a game in Oxford as a player prove
did you yeah? What is the players don't tell what
I mean, like, do you have any idea what's going
to the guys and the blazers and the khakis and
the girls and the Katillian dresses, Like do you see

(15:40):
any of that? Are you able to experience any of
that as a player.

Speaker 9 (15:42):
So the only time we really get to experience it
is whenever we walk walking through the game. So we
walk through the grove and to this day, I've never
been in the grove, never experienced any tailgate or anything
like that, So I don't really know too much of
what goes on to her stories of course, like everybody else.
But so but the only time we really gets the
experience is walking through it and you can kind of smell,

(16:04):
you know, the fun they've been having. So it's definitely
it's definitely a wild time, but it's always it's always
something to remember.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
So when you're when you know we have experienced Lin
Kiff and used to come on the show every week
when he was the head coach at USC was a
joy to deal with. What was it like playing with
a playing for him because obviously, you know, seems to
be a bit of a polarizing personality down the street.

Speaker 8 (16:23):
Yeah, oh that's my guy, man, you know, coach Kiff.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Receivers love Kiff.

Speaker 9 (16:28):
Yeah, I love him, man, because I remember whenever I
was in the transfer portal and going into my junior
and senior year, you were at Tech. Yeah, I was
at Louisiana Tech. And yes, sir, yeah, big change, big
change of scenery. But going there and his his his
shot towards me was simply, Hey, I'm gonna get you
to the NFL. That's that's That's what I've been doing

(16:50):
for the past couple of years in my career. That's
what I've been doing every single place I've been at.
And that was his big selling point to me. And
you know, that's something that stuck to me and still
sticks out to me to this day because he held
up on his part.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
I held up a month.

Speaker 9 (17:00):
So I'm always gonna be grateful for him and grateful
for grateful as grateful to have them as a coach
and be able to learn the things I did learn
the underneath them.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
We were talking at Caldwell about another rookie. You know
about one on one and you know what's it like?
Is it like you thought it would be? You know,
the matchups and it's you know, the whole dB versus
receiver thing is real. You know, it goes on and
practice every day across the country at all levels.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
No one ever stops talking.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
I don't know how you guys talk through those mouthpieces,
But what is it like attacking these guys and setting
them up like you would set up a dude in
the SEC?

Speaker 9 (17:34):
For me, it's really all it's kind of just like
how you said, It's just all about setups and just
having different different maneuvers for different moves, for different times,
and knowing when to use them at the right time
because you know, a lot of times, you know, you
got a lot of guys who you know, they have
a lot of experience. They try to, you know, play
different things different ways. And one thing I've learned is,
you know, always come up with a plan and always

(17:55):
have a backup on that plan. So no matter what
goes into this goes on, no matter what route you have,
always make sure you have at least two two backup
plans for another backup plan because you never know what
could be what could be happening at that line of scrimmage.
You never know where they could throw at you. So
just always be ready and make them and make them guard.
You don't worry about them covering. You go out there,
play a game. You know, be unique in your in
your routes, and you know, just get open.

Speaker 8 (18:16):
That's that's the that's the end of the day. That's
the go at. End of the day.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
We had a uh we weren't able to really watch.
We were busy today. But Sunday yesterday you had a
heck of a practice, made a lot of a big
plays catches. But going back to last week, you had
the one grab in the back of the end zone
and a lot of people that have been following the
Chargers for a while. So that's that's like reminiscent of
Keenan Herbert connection. Just kind of it almost looked like
you guys were It wasn't a busted player anything, but

(18:41):
kind of like you were trying to get on each
other's frequency. I guess to make that happen. Is that
an accurate assessment? And are you watching like a lot
of film of Keenan and Mike and kind of seeing
what made them work with Herbert and that chemistry they built.

Speaker 9 (18:54):
I'm definitely watching a lot of film of those both
both those guys, you know, just the way, just the
way with Mike, you know, both of them, I feel
like they both provide two different things for her. And
you know, Mike, the way he's able to, you know,
really just give a quarterback a friendly target no matter
what the ball is putting and always going up for
the ball, no matter how contested it is. That's something
that I've noticed about his game just watching the past practice,

(19:16):
this past spring practice, past games of.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
Him, and then with Keenan.

Speaker 9 (19:19):
You know, his he's so instinctual, to be completely honest
with you, like everything he does is off instinct. And
one thing I've noticed about him is he's not afraid to,
you know, just oh that he sees that open spot.
He knows that justin season two. So he's gonna sit
and boom balls can be around around his chest. And
so that's one thing I'm starting to take from both
of those, both of those guys games, is you know,
just really trusting my instincts and just being friendly toward
a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Now, we asked the other guys this, but it was
really just kind of as a sort of just a
courtesy because they're, you know, fact guys. But you you know,
you're a perimeter guy. You're good looking, you know you're
good with the media. You know you save my radio
partner from choking. H Are you worried about Los Angeles

(20:00):
eating you up? It's eating up a lot of guys.
You're worried about going to Hollywood, you know, like next
year we talk to you, you're chained, so damn your.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Back up stunt of shades, you know, the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
What how you know, how can we help you not
be eaten up by the jackals in this town.

Speaker 9 (20:19):
The one thing that helps me in this unfortunately she's
not here today, is my girlfriend. She keeps me grounded
back home, so yes, Lafiel, Louisiana, and so she keeps.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
Me grinding all the ducks at the airport, but she.

Speaker 9 (20:39):
Keeps me grounded. She keeps me, you know, with a
clear headspace. And you know, she's my safe spot. You
can be honest with you. And I'm worrying about all
the Hollywood. You know, I've actually been out here a
couple of times. I haven't seen how it affect certain people,
and that's something I always tell myself. I ain't never
gonna have her stoop that low in my opinion, to
be honest, which I feel like that's that's not necessarily
the road you want to take.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Now when she's coming out like this.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
She lives. Oh she does.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Yeah, Okay, I thought you were saying like she's the
whole foods right.

Speaker 8 (21:06):
Yeah, she just didn't come to practice.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I got you, I got you. Do you guys stay
at home and cook, you guys go.

Speaker 8 (21:10):
She stays cooking, she stays cooking.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Not gonna eat it.

Speaker 5 (21:15):
I wish I was from Louisia, Yeah, New Iberia, you know,
someplace like that, someplace with a lot of history. Yeah,
we really appreciate you. It's great to watch you perform,
and we hope you have a great year. And welcome
to Los Angeles.

Speaker 8 (21:28):
Thank you, Thank you for having me on the show.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Drake the Great Tray Harris.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Very exciting at an old miss but by way of
Louisiana tech.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
I did a game once a Louisiana tech.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I remember it was an arduous travel schedule, suation, worse.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Experience of my life. Yeah, I was. I got a dakery.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
They're like, I got a decorate a drive through and
they're like, listen, listen, young man, you cannot drink this
in the car. We are going to put a piece
of tape over the top of your decree on a
little hole where you would put the straw.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
I say, you don't take that tape off now until
you get hold.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
Oh that's cool. But the game I did in Louisiana Tech,
it was crazy. Was two Lane versus at Tech and
Terry Bratchaw was there, the duck commander was there, and
Joe Montana was there because his son was playing for
two Lane at the time. So it was a star
studded event in Rusting, not nuts. I mean, they haven't
had stars like that since trade was right. Michael Bercovicci,

(22:27):
All right, Trey, Well God bless you man, and have
a great camp.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Good duck to you man, and we'll be back.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
It's just water, I promise.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
With Mark Petrosen money on AM five seventy l A Sparts,
we're here at Chargers Camp, charging it up at the
boult and beautiful El Segundo, California, right next to the
Ghost Train.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Nobody ever on it, No one ever on that train.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Nobody on it.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
I want something like Matt Lock or some weirdo on
this team's got to show up like full Paths.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Just get off the train and full path train cutting dudes.

Speaker 8 (22:57):
Won.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
We'll be right back on the train. We got that
good z call.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Hold up, I got too much drink in my cup.
That does the money on a f I seventy l
A Sports. You're holing the Chargers and the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
We've made it even easier to take LA Sports with
you this summer. Make AM five to seventy or your
favorite AM five seventy l A Sports podcast, a preset
on the iHeartRadio app using Apple car Play or Android.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Auto road Trip all summer with LA Sports, the date
shake Petrow some money A five seventy l A Sports
Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Got a lot, I
mean straight out the gate head, back to back interviews.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
I was great and we still have a lot more
Charger love that to cultivate.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Jamori Caldwell going to join USDs yep, the rookie out
of Oregon, part of that undefeated squad. Uh, he'll join us.
Had a heck of a game on Thursday, and then uh,
Joe Ortie's general manager of the Chargers, tended to some
business right now, He'll be in the five o'clock hour
and at five, Oh yeah, Brandon Gomes, how about that?
So it is gonna be the GM hour. We'll do

(24:11):
do Dodgers GM. Brandon Gomes coming off that five and
four trip, got that big win yesterday. Finally Yamamoto get
some run support and they come home with that five
and four record. They start a series tonight with the
Cardinals Dodgers on deck at six, first pitch at seven.
Are we gonna do like a big announcement for our
Thursday show or are we going to start selling that
now like letting people know? But you know, we're what's

(24:33):
the plan matter? But do we have to roll that out?
Or can we tell people that we got another one?
How about you ask Tim Kayskates. You know, he's produced
a lot of shows all CIF Baseball in nineteen ninety six.
He's helped coordinating with Josh and all the great Chargers people,
all of these great guests and where to put him
and balancing out the show. Spinning plates like a leveler,
like spinning plates like the Red the Red Panda, get

(24:56):
her a bike that works. Damn it, get better, Red Panda.
You know it all started, that whole w NBA problem.
It all started when the red Panda went down. You know,
it's their fault.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Red Panda goes down.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
Next thing, you know, Caitlin Clark's getting poked in the
eye like Moe and Curly. And then now they got
the sex toys, you know, which are very dangerous to
throw those like dense rubber projectiles onto the onto the court.
You know, this is a problem and we've got to
do better as people. And that's a good looking group
of fans right down exactly right. God bless you all.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Look at that.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
Everybody with coordinated, very unique charger.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Charged your hats there. Oh yeah, we've forgotten here some shows.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
I'll see I n B.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
Everybody, tama any any any word, any news one of
the headlines. As far as our big event on Friday
at three o'clock, the third stop of the Petrosen Money
Summer Tour.

Speaker 10 (25:54):
Well you got the Summer Tour a Hinson Beach on Friday.
That's gonna be a lot of fun. On Thursday from
four to inside on hold on Thursday. This Thursday from
four to five pm inside What this is Thursday Thursday?

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Well this says that to be.

Speaker 10 (26:17):
Beach this Thursday. Pets the Money Show, Full Show three
to seven. Dodgers are off, Golden Day Off. Don't bother
Dave you though, He's got Dodger Talk four to five
from inside the locker room at the iHeart Studios in Burbank.

Speaker 11 (26:35):
Fan favorite Dodger reliever.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
Any banda Wanda is a fan?

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Are we gonna do it in front of the like
sales staff? Yeah? Are we gonna do that again? Or
do you get people in there?

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Now?

Speaker 11 (26:50):
There's well, there's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
People, corrections and retraction.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
I want you to know, Matt, and I asked this
exact same.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Question because last time it's a lot of audacity for
you to ask it only, but I asked it off there.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
There's gonna be only you could be so bold, Darth Vader.

Speaker 11 (27:07):
There's gonna be people.

Speaker 10 (27:08):
There's gonna be iHeart employees there, there's gonna be Dodger
employees at this event.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
So a lot oft of Dorcas, a lot of Tom Brady's.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Thanks for people don't like us, that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Like listeners of our show like us everybody that we
work with hates all right.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
There's one sales guy that Matt and him don't see
eye to eye, and he mean mugs Matt at these events,
and I don't like it and it needs to stop.
But that's just one guy.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Who is that. I'm not apologized. Everybodys got to apologize
to me, and everybody else likes us. But there is
one guy.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Who floats in and he leaves early, and he mean
mugg and he looks like he's miserable the whole time
we're doing the Lost.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
It's distracted.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Like if there was a show comp it would be
me mean mugging Bill Shaken. Whenever we go down to
the La Dodgers on the field and Matt makes a
big thing about it, he's like, there he is, look
and I and I'll go, okay, Matt wants me to
give me a look. And I try to, like, you know,
like the Dodger, like that one reliever that looked like
a pill. You know, he turned his face, you.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Know, remember that guy very good pull. Yeah, that guy
trying to like, you know, really look at Shaken. And
that is how this guy, I don't like it, That's
how he looks at Matt.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
He's not allowed to come cats. Can we do that?
I don't think we shut him out.

Speaker 11 (28:24):
I don't know who you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
I'm not going to say it on the air.

Speaker 10 (28:27):
Okay, okay, Well everybody but him will be there on
Thursday and they start friends at Verizon Wireless executed him, a.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
Big, big executive.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
From Verizon.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Who doesn't Matt.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
I still have a Verizon email dress. That's how much
I love him.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Well, you got one on me.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
Make sure you bring that up net bring that works
every single break in and out. You know, still got
an email, so will So that's that's Thursday. That doesn't
help us for Friday.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Friday, we're on the clock Friday. It's the Petro some money,
putting ourselves out there to be judged by the people.
And that's gonna be at the HQs and Huntington Beach.
Oh and Kate's booked a big time guest. As a
matter of fact, we got that over the weekend. I
have a surfer. Ten years ago back in surf champion Simpson,
Brett Simpson.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
Was the yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
So Brett gonna join the show and he's the uh
he was the coach for the US Olympic surfing team
that won gold. Carrisa one gold.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Wax your board, so that's what the coach is, Hey,
wax it up.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Brett's gonna get a join, get your stretches in with
the US Open. Having just concluded yesterday I.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
Saw you, I'm gonna ask you, what do you how
do you coach these hey so weak ass?

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Cutback, bitch?

Speaker 11 (29:43):
What do you tell my Hey, that was a bad wave.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
You just gone right? That was the right? Why'd you
go left? Loser? That's what we're gonna find out.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Yeah, we're gonna say, I mean, coach Carissa Gold.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
You know that's the deal. Does he hold them like?

Speaker 9 (29:53):
Not?

Speaker 4 (29:54):
This one? Not?

Speaker 5 (29:54):
This one was Carissa the girl with no arms? No, okay,
but there is a girl that got bidden by the shark.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
But she stills. She's good. She cuts back with the nubs.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Exactly am I wrong?

Speaker 4 (30:06):
You know I'm right? Thank you, ma'am, exactly right. Still
got one off, still surfing her ass.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
Off that that lade us in the line of fires.
She was just sitting there and somebody just blew up
her water with it. Like these guys are playing with nerves,
like knocked it out, but so it's different, sir, so
Brett Simpson will join us.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
You know, there was a.

Speaker 5 (30:28):
Girl the other day who is a surfer, but she
wasn't surfing. She was riding her bicycle and her arm
was knocked off by a train. I saw that and
they put it back off exactly right. And they put
it off clean, clean off. Yes, And it just happened
that there was like a fireman paramedic type with her

(30:50):
and he was like, find that arm and they did.
Shouldn't be too hard to find, right and uh, and
they put it back on and it works.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
It works. She got feeling and she'ld be cutting back
exactly right. Maybe, so we got snaking away from Burkhart. Hey, Burke,
I got some photos. Yea buy him.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Burkhart cheats real cheat, so we will have you came
to meet Burkhart.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
Any any update on my solo surf guitarist that I
asked for just one guy at every break on.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
I surf with that dude that plays guitar in that band,
the Dewey's.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
Does he plays surf guitar? There's a surf rock band.
Well that's what we need.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
So when he listens to the show, he came up
to me. He's like, I heard your voice. I listened
to the show. We can't pay him and we need
him playing every break. I'll reach out to him. I
believe we follow each other on Instagram. But he said,
I don't want to step on DJ Santana's toes. If
he's gonna be theret getting paid. Well, he could play
the surf guitar. Well, he could map, but that's not
the same as that. That's a great point. You know,

(31:55):
there's some dick Dale going right. That's what I'm looking
exactly right. The Dewey's. Okay, to reach out to the
Dewey's and see if the.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
You know what, when do we aim high reach out
to the ventures?

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Oh yeah, you know still alive. You guys always have
great ideas days before the remotes. Yeah, that's the way
these things three days. Listen, we work through this, We work.
We have a whole contingency. We have Montana Roland, the
Chargers producers here and doing. I don't know what he's doing,
but he's here, and Johnny's here. Believe he's observing, right, Yeah,

(32:28):
I guess observing. I think is that is that your
official observing? And uh and uh, Arman, that's our guy,
Arman Dewey of the Dewey's.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
All right, we have himterned Ben here.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
And I got to say, this is the second time now,
this has happened to me many times that Ben has
missed a spot shaving, you know, like he's got it
all down his neck.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Yeah, this happened to me. I was mirror, you know,
shaving the mirror.

Speaker 5 (32:54):
I always tell this story. You know, it's kind of
like before social media. But there was texting, you know,
and and people had my number, and I was all
in a great mood. It was a Saturday, and I
was in a great mood because I didn't have to travel,
and I was doing a game at UCLA at Arizona
at UCLA.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Now, who cares what happened at the game.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
I think it was a terrible I think he was
really looking forward to that post game.

Speaker 5 (33:15):
I think what I do remember is we showed a
picture of Dino Baber's with a Carl Durrell chirn and
they're like, I was like, that's the wrong black coach.
But uh, I do remember that distinctly, but you blew it. Yeah,
But the game was uneventful and we got on and
off the air, and I was happy, and you know,
I'm in a good mood. Just go down to the car,
drive home and you know, instead of having to go

(33:35):
to airport and get.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Drunk and uh.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
I sat in the car and I was like, that
was good. And then I checked my phone and it
said great call P. What's with the incongruous sideburns? And
I was like, oh no, And I looked at the
rear view and god knows, there it was right there,
just one real longside.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
The other one is just a white wall.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
Yeah, a neg burn, negative burn, and it was just
it was just like, oh god no. And then that
just haunted me, you know, for the rest of the
you know, I've had a few cut lips and stuff,
you know, before going on air with the razor, but
but never something so egregiously terrible.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Hey, and the other thing that I wanted to say, Oh,
that's a lesson for you, Ben, tighten it up, all right,
let's tighten it up.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
But we got him in here. Ricky was able to
bring him in out. I was worried about his access.
Our access has been awesome and the people of the
Chargers have been great, don't you look at me. And
of course Matt being the voice of the Bolts, he's
out here all the time. So we've had a great
time thus far. I'm a little we're not putting Dave
on today, I guess, or maybe we will in the

(34:39):
next hour.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
I don't know, but he's just hanging out at the
park right. Well, David Vasse gotta get momentum going.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
He sent out an unbelievable tweet and he's getting his
poods so skewed like a bronc.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Well, he does have support.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
I think it's now the people that started skewing the
fans have kind of pushed back to try to get
Dave to feel better about himself. So there's there's kind
of like a push in a poll going on there.

Speaker 5 (35:01):
Dave set out a tweet that sad, hey, why do
we all get behind mukah bitz and stand up and
cheer for him like they did for Trade Turner in
Philadelphia when he was in a slump, and get this
guy's covenant's good? And I looked at this and my
first thought when I saw the tweet was who put
Dave up to?

Speaker 4 (35:21):
Who?

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Or who hacked Dave's ac connon?

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Right, and then you look at the comments and it
was just like the first five comments were like this
is so gay, and it's like, mo, no, come on,
you know what's wrong with giving the guy?

Speaker 4 (35:31):
You know, there's nothing wrong with being gay.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
You're not a child, and it's already been done. That's
lame af right.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
Yeah, and a lot of hey, and I do I
do you know? You're sitting at Dodger Stadium. You're being fleeced.
Your kid wants a twenty dollar icy and I got
to stand up and cheer for the guy making thirty
three hundred million dollars. I gotta what about? Can't he
cheer for me? What about my confidence? Like I just
spent seventy bucks on a now tawny jersey. My confidence

(35:58):
is in the toilet.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
The anger is one I see one person. Oh, I
see too. From you have the not in the same
car though, No, he's a grown ass adult, David. You
have that kind of stuff, and you know, and then
you have this and this is the one that cuts

(36:19):
deep right here from uh Minerva, Dave. This is embarrassing,
This is this is embarrassing. That's the one they cut you,
that'll cut.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
You well, I mean I don't know.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
I mean, I guess we're just not that kind of
fan base, you know here in La where where they
are in Philly where they all want to get behind.
We just want a guy to fail. I mean, had
a playoff last year, right, didn't you have a good
playoff run? I mean he helped them win a world series.
You think you cut the guy maybe a little bit
of sluck or well, it's not like he's getting booed.
You know, nobody's booing him. No, but they're not sharing him.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
He's got to get a hit.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
But they're not sharing him. I mean, you know they're
not They're not not booing them. They're not booing them.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
You know when I had to pull myself out of
bed after being overserved and I got to put on
the uh fire up my comrades and listen to LaVar
Arrington sing Creed in my ear to bring me in
every morning higher. Yeah, of course, you know, Mookie Betts
is and sitting next to me like, hey, let's go,

(37:24):
come on, Pete, get it up, get it up, get
that energy up. Shaved two pros and a cup of
Joseph Hour. Yeah, you know, MOOKI doesn't do that for me.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
But I think fans fans are you know, they're there
to cheer for their teams.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
A fair point by you.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
They you know, we don't. We don't have fans that
are that follow us around. You'd like to think Bend
the intern might give us a little boost every now
and then. You know, fieldbody doesn't. He's busy. Yeah, how
do I get it? Come get me, come downstairs and
get me a sense of entitled. That's right, and that's
what happens when you go to Loyola Okay, Loyola Marama
private university. But maybe Dave was just you know what,

(37:59):
maybe Mookie put Dave up to it. Maybe it was
a Mooki idea like, well, hey, Dave, I'm really down
on the dumps. You have a connection with the fans,
you know, as players, we can't go to them first day.
I could really use this, but but you could, Dave.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
The first thing I thought was who would do this?

Speaker 5 (38:16):
But then I thought, like, missus Dingers will do it, certainly, Yeah, sure,
breastfeed that situation.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Absolutely, Soli, her husband right, No, both will, no doubt.
Now is Mary Hart gonna do it and her cranky husband? No,
they're not going to she's busy mocking Craig Gimber when
the Red Sox are freaking whipping it out and slapping
the Dodgers around with it. In the World series, James
put it uh in the court of the people though,
So now, if nobody does it, Dave can be like,

(38:42):
look at how you are, right, look at you and
ungrateful bastard.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
And if they do do it, Dave can be like,
you see, my poor I hold the boar the move.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Mo can't lose.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
It's a real can't lose for Dave.

Speaker 5 (38:58):
But he did have to into the world and say that,
and then deal with the slings and arrows of you're
so gay.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
I would say, uh. I think Dave's mantra would probably
be I'm not in my mentions. Let's see, I'm just
gonna here we go. Tell me when to stop. We
could do the whole show and to stop stop. He'll
go zero for four if we do this all of
this just to have him pop up.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
Lol. Do it again, Mookie, go back to right field,
all right?

Speaker 2 (39:32):
When to stop?

Speaker 4 (39:32):
Stop?

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Maybe we can give him a participation trophy if he
goes zero for four tonight.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Go again. Go ahead, Ben, tell him when to stop.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
Oh, hold on, hold on, not yet, wait wait sorry,
ready and go say when to stop? You get Dave
to bat him eighth in the lineup where he should be,
and we'll cheer for him. Get back in the right
field and I'll give him a standing no, but bat
him after Otani and watch O'tani get walked every single
at bet.

Speaker 4 (40:00):
You can't rid here anymore.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
There's one that was like, maybe Dave Roberts would actually
be a manager and stop being a fan and get.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Him out of the George stop Roberts is like, why
am I catching strays on this?

Speaker 4 (40:16):
Thanks? Dave takes a lot, Dave. Yeah, Kates, what's up?

Speaker 10 (40:19):
Kate's great comment ovation for struggling so California get a hint?
Is a better chance for Mookie?

Speaker 4 (40:27):
Just I mean pure hatred in the comments.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Hey, Dave, not too late to delete this. That one
cuts deep. Just wait when they do that standing ote tonight. Oh,
Dave's coming on tomorrow and he's gonna do a victory lap.
Actually he'll do it with you. Kate's on Dodger. He'll
do it on Dodger. Talking when I say seventy dollars
of tawny Jersey I mean seventy dollars Tony the Mister

(40:54):
cartoon t shirt.

Speaker 5 (40:57):
I know seventy dollars for a jersey is cheap, but
not in nineteen ninety.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Hey, you can buy it. You can buy it at
the parking lot of ricks. So you had a seventy
dollars jersey there, they're beautiful one wash eh.

Speaker 5 (41:10):
I don't like living in the present. I long for
the past and that is not a healthy way to live.
We'll be back with how is your weekend? What what
do you got?

Speaker 4 (41:20):
Ben? You got something? Oh?

Speaker 5 (41:22):
Yeah, Dodger Stadium would be special tonight if there was
a Mookie chant an ovation for struggling bets and it's
first at bad after this long road trip.

Speaker 4 (41:30):
Hashtag Dodgers, hashtag Mookie that's the tea tweet Trojan Chuck. Yeah,
that would be gay.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Hey, I have you Trojan Chuck? Listen.

Speaker 4 (41:41):
I don't like that. Well, we're very homophobic at USC.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Hello, PMS listener.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
Did you know Am five seventy LA Sports has a
wide range of LA Sports podcasts.

Speaker 3 (42:00):

Speaker 5 (42:23):
Have you heard what Phil Jackson said about the red
coats at Staples Center on Christmas Day?

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Right? But our promo team on Halloween.

Speaker 5 (42:31):
Cracking everybody Petterson money out here. The circus is falling
down on its knees.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Those chicks dressed up as a sexy nurse or a
sexy handy woman or a sexy valet.

Speaker 5 (42:44):
We're talking about someone that's scheduled a radio event on
Halloween every year, and how that kind of sucks unless
you run up on the ghost train like.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Woo, that'd be sweet on Halloween, back and forth on
the ghost train.

Speaker 5 (42:57):
We're still gonna talk to Joe Hartiz Gomes. I don't
know if we're ever gonna talk to vass Ay. Vassa
is being beaten up by hundreds of people trying to
get into Dodger Stadium for his He.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Knew what he was sweet, he knew what he was
getting into, and he was in and I'm sure he
was conscious that he was gonna take some. Now he's
gonna wear it.

Speaker 4 (43:16):
Now.

Speaker 5 (43:16):
He has the power, now that he's put himself out there,
he has the power.

Speaker 4 (43:20):
What's wrong would be a positive, right, That's what he
could say. Yes, that's what you'll say.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
That's why he hangs out in happy Town. He doesn't
hang out yeah, in the nightmare, that is no.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
He does.

Speaker 5 (43:30):
He lives on Twitter. He has to. It's breaking news.
That's where everybody's news is. Breaking news. Max Munsey's in
the lineup tonight, breaking news, Mookie Betts bat in second,
and everybody gonna stand.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
Up and cheer for him.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
Listen. He doesn't need it from you. Yeah, he's getting
hit from from Trojan Chuck. Who's got Chuck in his
He's got Trojan in his name.

Speaker 4 (43:49):
You know what that is? Cook?

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Gay identify as much as a Trojan. Time of Gay,
Best Years of my life.

Speaker 5 (43:57):
Time of Gay, three fifty seven pm.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
Time check. It is Monday, though.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
I gonna do what I do. The weekend is mine.
So how was your weekend?

Speaker 4 (44:11):
How was your weekend? Matt?

Speaker 2 (44:12):
It was great. I let's see Saturday big that was
the centerpiece. Preston was invited to open for a band
that she has been around for about five years and
they have taken off True Blood, so they had Sookie.
They had her open up for them and Ventura. I

(44:32):
had not done a show at the Ventura Music Hall ever.
What a beautiful venue. I mean, Oh it is glorious,
this gorgeous wooden arched roof ceiling, I should say inside.
Sound was incredible, packed, kids were lining up at four.
She didn't go on till eight to sold out her house.
It's really great. So thanks to them. The set was great.
She made a bunch of new fans, so a bunch

(44:54):
of merch.

Speaker 5 (44:55):
Most of the most of the band came on a
Nubis air.

Speaker 2 (45:00):
Truthless Yes, so and I appreciate I appreciate her. When
we were done saying hey Dad, we end up to
Carls Junior and I was like, oh, yeah, you're a
you're working now, You're a working stiff now Carls Junior.
At eleven pm after a show Superstar Action, let's go
no idea. She was she got grilled onions.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
She was like, I did not know that was an
option either, did I. She's like, can I get grilled onions?
And I was like, I don't know, let me find out.
She's like absolutely and them yes.

Speaker 5 (45:30):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
So that was Saturday.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
Sunday went out surfing with the Good Doctor and Joe
Kuwan and got wrecked. It was yeah. And then the
Chargers camp, which was was fun. And then the Good
Doctor's daughter Annie, who was kicking ass for Club America
down in Mexico City. They are in first place in
Liga uh in the Mexican in Lea Fax I think

(45:53):
is what it's called. And uh they put it on
uh caratato eleven nothing. Those girls got so pissed. It
got violent out Wow, you're not mad eleven nothing. It
got a little violin out there, but a lot of
flying kids. She's the center back, so she's expected to
kind of be muscle out there, and uh, it was
a heck of a watch. So congratulations to Club America

(46:13):
on their four and oh start in Liga Feminils.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (46:18):
Kate's Kate. I had a working weekend, guys. It was
Saturday of doing a little Dodger pre game and then
went out for early right the early one, and then uh,
I have to do some errands and then went to
dinner with my wife and daughters and Finney's and Burbank.

Speaker 4 (46:32):
I knew it was going to be a Finny's weekend.

Speaker 10 (46:34):
And yesterday was here for about five six hours and
went to UH afterwards UH to do some shopping with
my wife and then UH did a little driving around with.

Speaker 4 (46:43):
Safty Troyd like you did last weekend.

Speaker 11 (46:46):
No.

Speaker 10 (46:46):
No, I had some self control which was good, which
was unusual, but it was good. And we were supposed
to go get drinks last night.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Was not how I normally behaved.

Speaker 11 (46:56):
My brother in law and sister in law.

Speaker 10 (46:57):
We were supposed to get drinks with them last night,
and they texted us late afternoon and said they had
a rough Saturday night and we're still feeling the effects
of that. So man, I just kind of hung out
and I watched this reality show on Netflix for like
a half episode about building a band, UH, and you
get to interview the people before you actually decide to.

Speaker 11 (47:16):
Be in the band.

Speaker 4 (47:17):
Korean show.

Speaker 11 (47:17):
No, it's an American show.

Speaker 10 (47:18):
It's like fifty different people in like these square boxes
and when kids are yeah, teenage, the young adults, and
you sing for like thirty seconds and then if you
like them, you hit a buzzer and you get like
thirty seconds to talk to them.

Speaker 4 (47:30):
If you match that, I'd be doing Billy Joel big Shot.

Speaker 2 (47:34):
Right, I carry that, and then as soon as four
or five people, I've been doing silver chir you had.

Speaker 4 (47:38):
To open up your mouth.

Speaker 10 (47:39):
As soon as they agreed a big shot to uh
to to form a band, then they go out and
perform for the first time, and they get to see
each other for the first time.

Speaker 11 (47:46):
So it's an interesting concept. I turned it off after
half an episode.

Speaker 5 (47:51):
Yes, that's how the Goo Goo dolls were formed. Otherwise
that ugly guy would know.

Speaker 11 (47:54):
That makes sense totally why they're the Google Dolls. Ronnie.
How is your weekend?

Speaker 8 (47:59):
Guys?

Speaker 12 (48:00):
Had a nice weekend Saturday, Ransom Aaron's around town, including
a trip to Low's for some outdoor solar lights from
my wife's backyard project. Saturday afternoon, met up with our
friend Adam Oslind at the former tin Horn Flats. Oh wow,
really branded Magnolia Corner for some food and adult beverage.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Wonder Friendship Friendship.

Speaker 12 (48:18):
Yeah, her other friend Henry was there as well, and yeah,
they did a nice job with the remodel.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
Guys.

Speaker 12 (48:24):
It looks really nice. It's more modern on the inside.
But they still have the swinging saloon doors as Tim
mentioned last week, so they did a good job with that.
Sunday made a donation drop off with the Goodwill, went
to the supermarket, came home and did domestic chores and
ordered Chinese food for dinner, and watched American Ninja Warrior?

Speaker 4 (48:41):
Where do you order? Sadly?

Speaker 12 (48:42):
I ordered some beef chow Maine and my wife ordered
the chicken chow oh from Western Walk right here in Burbank.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Everybody knows the Western walks are the best walks.

Speaker 12 (48:51):
Western Walk right here on.

Speaker 4 (48:53):
We used have big Walk and that's big, but it's
not from the west anyway.

Speaker 12 (48:57):
That was my weekend. What about you, Petros?

Speaker 4 (48:59):
We got turned band here?

Speaker 12 (49:00):
Ronn oh, hey Ben, how was your weekend?

Speaker 4 (49:03):
There was good, Ronnie? Thanks for asking. I want to ask,
but I paid him.

Speaker 13 (49:08):
Saturday went down plaied the array, had some breakfast Britos.
Oh yeah, where TC Organic? Is that the place? It's yeah,
like something a vegan place. No, okay, it's down on
like right by a play of the ray culvert. Bowl
of our potatoes or no potatoes?

Speaker 6 (49:22):
Potatoes?

Speaker 2 (49:23):
You like potatoes in there? Bacon, ham sausage, what do
we got.

Speaker 4 (49:26):
I did bacon you'd like to eat? Yeah? What else?
You sauces? Yes? All right, so you had a breakfast brito?
What else? Uh?

Speaker 13 (49:34):
Saturday ran down the cinema compeering back. Ken's a runner, Yep,
had a good run. How far is that from where
you started?

Speaker 4 (49:40):
Four hundred miles? Uh, it's like six and a half
from the house.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
Okay, so you're talking like thirteen fourteen, fourteen?

Speaker 4 (49:47):
Okay, yeah, and then I just there's a little while.
I guess maybe the way back is a little bit
different than the way there. I just figured six and
a half times. He'll show you on his phone. Okay.
And what else? Ben Watson naked gun?

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (50:00):
How was it? It was good?

Speaker 8 (50:01):
It was funny.

Speaker 4 (50:02):
Oh j there's a reference. Oh good? Oh little nor
bird action. Yeah, little nor reference. Everybody was on the wheelchair. Yeah, unreal.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
That was funny. Yeah back then, now not so much.
I got killed two people, legendly civilly.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
All right, Ben, I'll tell you about week anything else,
that's it. We could get this guy laid so easy.
That's what. We just got to get a finished. We
got to finish a shave on the net.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
That's why I wanted to say, like, did you get laid?

Speaker 5 (50:31):
You know that Johnny forgot to shave his mustache though, right,
look at that pupe stash.

Speaker 4 (50:36):
Look at that poope growing it out, all right, all right, right?

Speaker 11 (50:40):
How was your weekend?

Speaker 2 (50:40):
Pe?

Speaker 5 (50:40):
No, it was better than Slater's mustag anyway. Uh yeah,
my weekend, Uh, I don't know. Friday night, I just
hung out, you know, I do yoga, and then on Saturday. Oh,
I was also adventurer County. I was at Thousand Oaks
across the street from Tarentula Hill, and I kept looking

(51:01):
over like, damn, Tarentula Hill is dropping off. There were
so many people there. I was there for the Royal
High School thirty year high school reunion for my wife.
Uh it's a close I will ever get to a
high school reunion.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Your wife wanted to go.

Speaker 5 (51:18):
We we went back and forth, but she had some
great friends that were her friends that met us there,
and uh so, yeah, I went to a high school reunion,
not mine, And you know I went. I sat at
the bar with like an old man, you know, while
she talked to the girls. So I talked to some people,
a lot of cops, you know, see me Valley a
lot of guys that were uh parents were cops who

(51:39):
were all caught a lot of cowboy boots amongst the men.
Royal High Highlanders class of ninety five.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
Kates talking about the cops cowboy boots case good, very excited.

Speaker 5 (51:50):
And then but we were at the Tipsy Goot and
like have you been ye know, what's the deal? Cause
like the old man. I was at the bar and
it's just like an old man drinking beer. He was cool,
and he.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
Was like, I get to ten thirty, this place that's
really gonna go off, and like ride at ten thirty.
Where do those people come from? Camer Rio Kalou, Oh,
it's a colubar.

Speaker 5 (52:10):
Because they started playing if You're Honey's Not and everybody
started like and like all the fifty year old people
that were like you know the high school reunion, you know,
they started to kind of shoot the side and here
comes the vapor and the ass shaken at the.

Speaker 2 (52:25):
Tipsy Good it's a colubar.

Speaker 4 (52:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (52:27):
And I was sitting at the bar and this guy came,
one of the high school reunion guys came up and
he's like, I need a drink. He's like, I need
something strong and he's like uh, and the bars are
just like, well, what do you want? He's like something
sweet with vodka and the guy goes, you want a
sugar rim and he's like, I don't know. And the
old man's like, he's like listen, Davy. She's like much
I used to be an addict, but not not alcohol.

(52:48):
And I'm like, yeah, no, I understand. It's your reunion.
It's hard, you know, So uh?

Speaker 4 (52:52):
I did that?

Speaker 5 (52:52):
Yeah, And yesterday I went to the Red Onion in
uh In in Palas Vernis or branch of Palace Verdi's
with a with real estate dad and had a burrito, had.

Speaker 4 (53:03):
A couple of polomas. And that was my weekend.

Speaker 5 (53:06):
And we'll be back with more petros and money. We're
gonna do the word number song of the day. We're
gonna talk to Calwell D. Lineman out of the City
of Syrup.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
