how to swim a gong.

PMS on demand is available there. You can subscribe to
our podcast and have it readily available after each hour
and the end of each show. That is the Petros
Money Show podcast. Dodger Baseball is also available there from
the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth. If you are in the

(01:10):
greater Los Angeles area. The iHeartRadio app provides you the
audio of Dodgers Baseball the radio broadcast and it will
begin tomorrow against the Redgs. The postseason starts tomorrow a
six oh eight pm first pitch p with a Dodgers
on deck at five pm, and we will be at
Dodgers Stadium tomorrow from two to five.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Matt, we will be there, we will be square, it
will be very exciting. We'll be there for the second game.
The petros and money sanctions and tariffs have been lifted,
and we are once again asked to be part of
the postseason experience. Where we were boxed out as if

(01:53):
Anthony Mason was guarding us down in the post for
a few years. And why we were boxed stout, Well,
there's myriad reasons, as some.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Would say anything confusing, some would.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Point to one thing in particular, but either way, we
are back in the saddle again on an I'MI horse
Monday at Dodger Stadium, fully credentialed for the next round
if necessary, and of course welcome for Tuesday, Wednesday and

(02:27):
Thursday's game if necessary, And Matt, we have something very especial.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Well awesome we do much like we did for Clayton
Kershaw's last ever regular season start at Dodger Stadium once
again as we are your home of the World Series
champion Dodgers. We got tickets so every hour of today's
show and we're on two to five because we've got
Monday Night Football tonight Broncos Bengals out in Denver where
you're home of the NFL. That'll be tonight. Hopefully we'll

(02:56):
have NFL football on Thursday, as Game three won't be
needed as well. Actually, wouldn't know that.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
No NFL foods ball. Yeah, it's rams. So we're going
straight on till morning on time.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I got a Noar corner ready to go.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Thursday, well tonight though being Monday Night Football, a pair
of games. As a matter of fact, you'll have the
Jets Dolphins, followed by Bengals Lokos. We will carry the
Bengals Broncos game. But we got a pair of tickets
to tomorrow's wild Card game one of the National League
Wildcard Series. Blake Snell getting the start, Hunter Green, local
product going for the Reds. Gonna be a heck of

(03:31):
a game. First pitch at six oh eight so this hour,
which technically belongs to the Rogan and Rodney Show, so
we'll try to give those away as close to three
o'clock as possible, and then in the three o'clock and
four o'clock hour as oh.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
So you're really holding back this hour, you're really making me.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Look, it's not up to me, you know, it's up
to all of us, right, do we want to give
them away? Well, Matt, you've got this part of the
in this part of town, or do you want to
get to a different part of tom As we.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Say in Jamaica, Matt Babylon makes the rules. Tim Kats
ultimately tells us what to do. But if I would
say there's somebody who likes to influence the giveaway and
is the czar of the giveaway and fully in charge
on air, I would say it's you, Matt Mndey Smith,

(04:21):
Voice of the Bolts. That's what I would say.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Him invested. That's fair, Yeah, absolutely accurate. I'm invested in
the timing of the giveaway, how we do the giveaway,
as much as I'm sure the listeners appreciate the possibility
of calling eight sixty six, nine eighty seven, two five
seventy sitting on hold for ten minutes to be one
of the five people that get on the air to
call what you think it would sound like worthy Dodgers

(04:47):
to secure a World Series victory that last out doing
your best, Joe Davis, your best, Tim Neverett your best,
Steven Nelson.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Neverritt is not working during the playoffs. Unfortunately, he sent
me my year is over tweet. Mmm.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
That is unfortunate, Tim.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
It is like Tim's calls, It's absolutely unfortunate.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, it really is.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
But while certain shows like to do it that way,
we prefer to open it up to all people, like
The Red House. All you gotta do is be the
correct caller at that same number, and you could find
yourself at Dodger Stadium tomorrow. By the way, there are
still some tickets at Dodgers dot Com slash postseason, so

(05:37):
the games are not entirely sold out if you want
to go watch Blake Snell tomorrow. Is it official that
it's Snell and Yamamoto kates or is that just kind
of what everybody or PD you know, is that what
everyone's speculating or has that been made official?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Not official yet, but that's where it is leaning.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Towards and my answer is no, I do not know.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I have not you spend I do not spend much
time on X. I've tried to be better with that
and spend more time, especially with the playoffs here and
the Dodgers ready to do some damage and make a
run of the World Series, with all the Dodger updates,
who's on the roster, who's not on the roster, who's
in the bullpen, who's getting the start, all of those
things will likely be coming, and I would imagine David
vass will have the latest on that in our very

(06:21):
next segment.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
I imagine that he would as well as David Vassay is
live from the Dodger workout. Now, we got a lot
of dishes to wash here. You use the word Matt
about Thursday, about the Dodger schedule, about what is to come,
And you use the word hopeful. We are whole music

(06:42):
hopeful at noon, hopeful music at noon in the fall.
And there's a lot of intersection basketball media days, NFL
football off, and running college football a flame. I wonder

(07:04):
where our boss is. Is he gonna find his way
into the into the studio and crack a mic and
talk about sc and.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
He's very excited. Pete, he talked.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Sc and that's what good USC is.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Now, you crack a mic, you stick your neck out,
you come with a sport take.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
And Lincoln Riley lets you down, and you're.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Just miserable, absolutely miserable on Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Meet Carol Ara. Though. You know, you could go crack
a mic and be like, I think s He's gonna
win it, and you'd always be right. Nine of the time.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Our boss has bigger things to do, guys. He is
doing like a wedding. He is getting the seating arrangement.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
All that is now dropped. And he didn't just he
did not just kind of farm that out to Dave
we Se he is the one that is choosing the
seating chart.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
He's not doing that.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
I'm kidding, but he's not doing that.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
It's up to him. He'd be like, sit wherever you want.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
I took a co liigraphy class and I'm riding the
names all the chart. No, but he is. I believe.
That's the other real big piece of news is that
tomorrow's not just any day on a five seven LA
Sports with a Dodger playoff game. It's a day of

(08:19):
local programming that starts at six AM with Scam Huge, Huge,
Tim Kats Steve Sacks in the am. Kate's hosting with
one of the great Dodgers of yesteryear and a friend
of the show and a great man and human being.

(08:42):
He's so important in the state of California, he has
to live in the Capitol, Sacramento. Steve Sachs a hero
to all of us, and he's going to join us
today to promote Scam and to promote I believe that
the Dodgers do have tickets to the wild Card still,
as you just mentioned.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Matt, that's right, gonna promote it all, but most importantly,
pe Scam. It's returned, Tim Kates, Steve Sachs, get our
lineup rolling, throwing the Dodgers fronto another World Series championship.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
I heard Jerry Royce is coming on an hour one.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
It's not true. We're saving Royce, so we're saving that
for a little later in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Save that arm in the bullpen.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
That's right, Caesar Astirris.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
I guess I can make the call. Yeah, we can
see if he's available.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
I'm wondering Kate's I mean, I know you have faith
that it's gonna be a deep ride and a lot
of money's gonna be made by everybody. But at the
same time, you know, if you don't start your starter
in the wildcard round, you might not ever see him
in the divisional round.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Well, it's funny you say that, because I kind of
feel that's how Dodger fans are thinking right now, like, oh,
they're gonna beat the Reds in the wildcard round. I
don't I don't need to be out at the Ravine
on Tuesday or when say there's no guarantee. Folks, we
know that a couple of.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Years ago are saving their tickets for the roads.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
They don't want to save their money.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
We're not gonna pay for the Big Ten Championship. We're
gonna wait for the rose Ball.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Copy that you don't want to go see show heal
Towny in a playoff game. Man, you know you're gonna
go see Blake Snell make his first start for the
Dodgers in the postseason. I mean, come on, what about
Charlie Huff? Is he coming on tomorrow? Uh?

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Huffer's not coming on tomorrow now?

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Oh no Hoff?

Speaker 2 (10:33):
No, Well, what are you gonna you guys coming on tomorrow.
Come on, Kates, we're trying to sell it.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Toss coming on tomorrow morning.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
That's right. He didn't want to say it because he
knows we're gonna get upset that we're not booking the guests.
Who's coming on the show tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (10:49):
We had Oral Hershey's are on right before Hershaw's last start.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Who do you got?

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Kate's wants you to share a little orl okay.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Exactly right, everybody should have.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
It, Uh, Oral on the eight o'clock hour, and working
on somebody from the Red Side. I've been turned down
by the Red pr for Jeff Brantley, former pitcher now
radio analyst. Uh, I got a couple irons in the fire,
trying to get a hold of Berry Larkin, who was one.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Of my favorite player. Oh yeah, back in the day.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
He's a TV analyst, but of course they don't have TV.
ESPN has a wild card round for TV, so Perry's
not working. So I'm trying to freaking Dave CONCEPSI on, dude, Yeah,
try that every time. I mean, I got, I got
tims in my back pocket if I need a nasty boy.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Who was you know on the.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Reds We used last week. We needed it and he
was awesome. And now we can't go back to that.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Well, well you guys can't, but scam can.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Scam can then well.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Well scam can go the red route. You know, I
don't think. I don't think that route. You think? So?
Ye did, Johnny bench On.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Let's put Hunter Green's coach on from Notre Dame.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Oh, let's go like there's a lot. That's a Red move, dude,
don't do that, Petro, that's a Fred move.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
You just got You just got fredded Pee.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
We put the Corona coach.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Oh, he just fretted you so hard.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Deserve that at all. That's not a Fred move. I
don't appreciate your instigation.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Man, Coach Tom dill now joints us.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Whatever his name. Forget it, fine, forget I said anything.
You figure it out. I don't care who you book.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
What was Hunter like as a freshman in Sherman Oaks.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Let's get the San Andreas Grand theft auto guy, because
that's Elie Day.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I wish that Kate was the third baseman with the
wacky glasses. Chris.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, man, you know, you know who's friend Joey Vando
is friends with?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Is he the best. That's like I had a good
time with Chris Zado. Balloon daughter is the sideline reporter
for the Reds. Well, get sabo on man, ask him
what's up with those goggles?

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Those were so cool goggles those After that, I don't
know where the interview goes after that. It's like, hey, man,
was it with those goggles?

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Tell us about these Reds. That's where it goes.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
There you go exactly.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
So we are looking forward to scam tomorrow, not just that,
but orderly to all our friends. And Modo meets a
lot of Monday. And I can't believe it on our
watch that Modello has slept from the number one spotting
beers in the country. Do you know what it is now?

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Matt uh, Yes, I believe it is King Cobra.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Now King Cobra has just edged it out.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
It's been a remarkable run.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
But I know that the dot it's tough, very intimidating beer.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
A kid, it's Kingobra, but is.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Then Mexican beer. It's not a real meat if it's
not made with Modelo. It's a reward for those of
the fighting spirit. It's a great beer. And I know
what the Dodgers in a deep playoff run, everybody in
the Sea of God grabs for a Modello and that
will push Modello back past King Cobra back because you know,

(14:27):
King Cobra can't stay there for a long Nobody doesn't
drink that much.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Multli what like America like fiscally you should figure this out.
You know, you make the number one beer, you know,
a watered down American logger that you got to drink
ten of to catch a freaking buzz, and you wonder
why it's the best selling beer instead of just taking

(14:52):
you know, a quarter of a King Kobra and you're
on your face.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
You're right, you know it shouldn't be somebody. It should
not be Michelobultra.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
No, that stuff is crap, And to be honest, I
think unless they ask us to endorse it, then you
know what, it's kind of enjoyable. It's very refreshing.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
I mean all of us, I believe, or maybe just
me because I have issues, but would grab for that
six pack of the Michelobe at a liquor store and
you would say, the weekend belongs even if it was
a Tuesday, Yes, the weekend belongs to Mikelobe and then
you would sing the Frank Sinatra someday We're not'm awfully

(15:30):
low like they had the commercial I remember, and it
was a man's you know, you felt like a man.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Yeah, Genesis did the did the Mikeelobe commercial.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Yeah, I mean they always had class.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yeah, exactly right.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
And now it's some guy peeing fifty times right. Cobra Matt,
you're right in Cobra forever. But you're right. It's a
modello meets a lot of Monday is what it really is.
And there's nothing better than a modello. So we have
two guests. We'll have David Bassey on from Dodger Stadium
with the tail of the tape like the fight Doctor

(16:04):
Ferdy Pacheco. David fest Say will tell us about the
Reds and the Dodgers. Of course, the Dodgers playing at
home and expected to win the best out of three.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yes, three in a row, Monday, Tuesday or Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
We got tickets every hour for tomorrow's game. Hopefully they
will not need Thursday. All games at Dodgers Stadium.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
If they lose one, they're gonna want Thursday.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
They are, yes, exactly right. I guess I'm just assuming
they win at least.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
That's right, and that's the kind of assumption that leads
to destruction, mister.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Matthews self destruction this far and not brought up Gavin
Lux and the Gavin Lux revenge tour that is coming
with the Cincinnati Reds coming to Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Well what about the great Clayton Kershaw love Fest in Seattle?
There hasn't been a love fest like that in Seattle
since Mother Love Bone was playing live every week.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
That was a real thing, beautiful. That was a real
moment there, Freddy comes out of the dugout. No hat.
By the way, I don't know if you noticed that.
It's a real moment. For some it's like, hey, there's
a guy coming out of the dugouty walking onto the field.
You don't never had them?

Speaker 1 (17:12):
That was your takeaway from that moment, Yes, it was.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
It's like, hey, Freddy did never had off?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
He there's myopic.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
When have we ever seen when have we ever seen
someone emerge from a dugout? He shows some actual baseball
business and not wear a hat.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Showing great reverence. Showing great reverence is what He's.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
A beautiful moment. And you know what, those Seattle fans classy.
It's a classy move out there, But Freddy Freeman did
never have one.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Again, that probably shouldn't be the take of but a
great moment, Gavin Locks, Yes, anything else, Kate's I tried
to mention Elie de la Cruz. I just pitched a
grandpleft autos and and dras, but you didn't like that.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
I just picture the Cincinnati Reds management like, hey, Gavin,
you played it in LA. You know Dodger Stadium. You
know what's gonna happen over the next couple of days.
Why don't you address the team about going to Dodger Stadium?

Speaker 2 (18:07):
The media?

Speaker 4 (18:08):
It's La, it's not a little Cincinnati Moore. Wann't you
tell us a little bit about your time here, what
the player should expect because a lot of these guys
have never ever.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Been to the postseason.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
And I can just imagine Gavin Luck standing up on
a stool or the couch inside the visiting club bouse
be like, hey, my first day here, guys, some eighty
on the radio asked me about no hats the kind
of questions you're and again, so just head on a swivel.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
We're down there tomorrow. He's gonna be like, there he is.
There's that phony there he is, no hats, that's him.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Meanwhile, I'm gonna be coming the opposite direction, going, hey, Gavin,
remember me, remember like we were talking about this, you
were embracing the idea of no hats. Remember it was
everybody was delirious. I didn't remember Farmer's great. So that's it, Gavin.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
You're saying, they ask you about no hats on the field,
that's the best they got.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
I don't think that's gonna happens. I don't think anybody's
asking Gavin less about anything. I heard somebody ask him
about coming back to Dodgers Eddy. He's like, well, you know,
we'd have to go somewhere, thanks Gavin.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
When you say Red's management, are you aware of who
their manager is Kerry Francona. I mean I figured you'd say,
like I thought, like as you were getting into your
seam headedness. No, it could be that it would be
like I figured he'd be like, you know, you know,
Tito's just like breaking it down. He's like, hey, Gav
long Rosan Ryan.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
I don't know Terry that well. They'll call him Tito.
But you know, I hope to get there one day.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Matt, Well, I hope, I hope you get on a
stage close. I hope you get on a stage with
a long time Cincinnati read's beat writer who challenges you
and you push back so forcefully that it knocks him
into the ground that six ft feet.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
And how about this. I just got an assignment today,
much to my chagrin, that I've got to go to Cincinnati,
not this week but next Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Well that's pretty exciting.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
It's a good game. It's little noon, but I mean
my producer was like, we're going to Boise and I
was like, cool, I can do the show from there,
this and that, and then all of a sudden I
got sent. I've never been to the state of Ohio,
so all I owe a long chagrined city on the
Petrosen Money Show and celebrated through Mick Cronin right Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
And when we were syndicated, one of our hottest syndicated markets.
They love Cincinnati, love us out there.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
They're gonna go wild for me over there at the stadium.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
You should see if Mick wants to be your spotter.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
You think Cronin wants to go. They're not doing March
Midnight Madness or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
I mean, i'd ask them. I would reach out and say, hey,
you know, I'm calling the game, why don't you come
and hang out in the booth with me.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Cincinnati is pretty good. They just beat Kansas. Kansas is
really good. It's really good, and Cincinnati just but Scott Saderfeld,
Daniel Jeremiah's fright anyway, I'll be able to Matt said
some really nasty things.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
I didn't say nasty things. I said we were staying
in a hotel that looked like was in the middle
of a war zone because the hotel across the street
from us was blown in half. Literally what hotel? Half
of it was missing. I'll try to avoid like literally
half of it was missing.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
I can't wait for a little noon two saturdays from now,
and Petros has got a little b roll of him
eating Skyline chili on the deck or whatever. River's right
there and enjoyed.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
I mean, I think about it. It's Petros and mc
cronin at mixed favorite barbecue spot. They're chopping it up
about you basketball. You know. Mick is like, I don't know.
I think Bill Walton is the greatest bruin at Petros
is emphatic, Absolutely not. It was Kareem Abdul Jabbar. And
second is Jamal Wilkes, You're so wrong.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
And third is pre scooter accidents.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yati joos like I think, I mean, I don't want
to program your pregame, but come on, man, the opportunities
are out there right now.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Let's go to break, he.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Would say yes, and a half second.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Yeah, there is no direct flights to Cincinnati from LA.
It turns out a couple of red Eyes on the weekend.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
But you know, you find your way through Chicago.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Oh yeah, find my way through Dallas, Slcneapolis. Figure it out, brother.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Denver, troubles are over. It's an easy hub.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
I love it. You know how much I love the
travel man.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
That's right now that I enjoyed more. Hey, you know what,
You're gonna be in Kentucky when you land. It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
I have been to Kentucky before.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
I hop that bridge. You're gonna be in Ohio and
you're Kentucky. How do these people in Ohio sound like
they live in Kentucky because they kind of do in Cincinnata.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Well, I'm looking forward to the trip, David Vesse Well

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Trip all summer with LA Sports. We got three pair
of tickets to give away today, one pair of this hour,
another pair next hour, another pair in the four o'clock
hour until five pm. And it is the Wildcard round
of the twenty twenty five Major League Baseball Playoffs. Chart
the Dodgers, excuse me hosting the Reds. We'll be out there.

(23:47):
We will be out there tomorrow two to five today
two to five because of football. It is the Broncos
and Bengals that will do their business here come five o'clock,
but be sure to listen, but for the top of
the three o'clock hour, top of the four o'clock hour,
top of the five o'clock hour, going to give a
pair away and then Kate, you'll have another pair tomorrow
for Game one of the Wildcard series on Scam.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Hunter Green Blake Snell is the pitching matchup tomorrow. It
is official David Vasse.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
With an inside look at the Dodgers. This is the
Vass Report with David Vasse.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
David Vasse, our Dodger reporter. Nobody is more valuable this
time of year when it comes to the Dodgers than
David Vassy, and I mean it as far as the
media goes. Spectrum Sportsnet, MLB Network and right here on
the radio with us, Dave, what is the tail of
the tape between the Dodgers and the Reds, a team

(24:49):
that we've just recently seen here.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yeah, well, if you look at their matchup at the
end of this past August, the Dodgers swept the Red
Tier at Dodgers State Him and outscored them eighteen to four.
They struck out the Reds hitters forty two times, and
there was a record thing day the last day of
that series where the Dodgers struck out nineteen Reds. So

(25:18):
it was pure dominance and I expect the same tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Thoughts on Blake Snell being the game one starter versus
Yama Mo, do you think it was much of a conversation, Dave.
I know, the lefty thing probably plays into it quite
a bit with how bad the Reds have been against lefties.
But just kind of your thoughts on Snell getting the
number one as opposed to Yamamoto or Otani or anyone
else they could have picked.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
Yeah, I mean, I feel like Blake Snell again, the
most disrespected two time Cy Younger Ward winner in baseball.
Nobody mentioned him being able to pitch this game, but
it made the most sense because he isn't high maintenance.
He's the lowest maintenance, best pitcher on the team. We
can come back on regular rest and there is a

(26:02):
day off between games one and two of the NLDS,
and that means he would be lined up for Game
two of the NLDS against the team that he has
dominated as well in the Phillies, and that could set
up Otani pitching Game one of the NLDS in Philadelphia,
and then you would have Yamamoto and Glass now ready

(26:24):
to go at Dodger Stadium for those two games Pivoll
Games at Home.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
David Vase is our guest with the latest in what's
going on with the Dodgers live from the Dodger workout
at Dodger Stadium. What about the bullpen, Dave, how different
will that look in the postseason? That's something we've been
talking about all year long, especially as the bullpen has struggled.
We said, it's not gonna look the same, don't worry.

(26:51):
Well what's it going to look like?

Speaker 5 (26:54):
Yeah? Well, benk Casparius is here at Dodgers Stadium, and
with the injury to Brock Stewart, spurious with a lot
of right handers the Reds have in their lineup, is
definitely a candidate to be part of the Dodgers' bullpen
in this series. Now I can change every series this series,

(27:14):
the Reds have a lot of right handed pitchers, so
bank A Sparius is definitely on the table. And that's
part of the reason why Kershaw was pitching yesterday, because
the Dodgers have an abundance of lefties and they may
not need them all. I talked to Blake Trinan over
the weekend on the pregame show, and he took it
upon himself to address the elephant in the room, the

(27:37):
struggles of himself and the struggles of certain high leverage relievers.

Speaker 6 (27:42):
Yeah, I know, I know from a fan standpoint, you know,
all you guys out there listening, it's a little bit
frustrating seeing things how they've gone this year. I promise
you guys, it's not without effort. We're doing our best
to get this thing right today. And I believe that
this last like two weeks has been really good for us.
You know, even though like you'll see, you know, our
run here or there. Focus on the little things, and

(28:02):
that's what we're focusing on. And it's it's one of
those things where you've got things that you're accomplishing within
the game to make sure that you're better prepared for
the playoffs. And so when we when we make a
good run this postseason, our goal is to put more
smiles in la than frowns that have been, you know,
coming down lately. I get it, fans, I totally get it.
You have every righty to be frustrated that you know,

(28:24):
we're doing our best.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
And by the way, Tanner, Scott and Blake trying to
pitch really well in the final two games or the
first two games in Seattle before they get ready for
these playoffs. So it was encouraging to see those two guys.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
What about is it going to be them? Dave? Do
you think it'll be Sheianne and Roki Sosaku? Roki be
the closer like, what do you think this is going
to look like? Is that enough for you to see
them pitch well against Seattle? To trust them and what
could be a high leverage tight game if Hunter Green
has it going, if Blake Snell has it going.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
Yeah, Tyler. Tyler glassnow may even be part of the
bullpen in this first series since he won't be pitching
until the NLBS, and yeah, Roki is basically their only
hope and Emma Shehan another big piece to this bullpen puzzle.
They need those two guys to pitch really well because
of the struggles of Tanner Scott specifically and also Blake Trinon.

(29:22):
But everybody I've talked to, even Rick Honeycut in Seattle,
who put his hands and was working with Trinan in
the outfield a couple of days ago, they believe that
Trinan has turned the corner. And look, he has a
trek record, he has a resume, so come on.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Come on, is right David Vasse on the Petrus and
Muddy Show, He does have a resume. Come on, speaking
of resumes, Dave, Before we look any more forward, it
just doesn't feel like this season could have gone better
as far as the way it's ended the regular season
when it comes to celebrating Clayton Kershaw, and they making

(30:00):
sure that all the fans and everybody, and I know
you mentioned that it wasn't this way with Sandy Kolfax
when he retired, but just kind of making sure that
everybody got the best out of out of the situation.
When it comes to the end of Kershaw's career with
the Dodgers. Pretty special day yesterday in Seattle.

Speaker 5 (30:21):
It was Petros and it gave everybody a chance to
say goodbye, not only the fans, but even guys that
he played with, Rick Huneycutt who was there from the beginning,
Aja Ellis, who was there from the beginning. They flew
into Seattle and we had Ellen Kershaw to think because
she was the one that encouraged him to make the
announcement when he did, and even after the game yesterday,

(30:41):
he had a lot of gratitude. How much does it
mean to you to be able to get the body
to cooperate and pitch the way you did this year?

Speaker 7 (30:50):
Yeah, that was the goal, you know, that was that
was the goal to be able to you know, finish
it out on I say my terms, but our terms.
You know, I think of being healthy can every start,
and that's what I wanted to do. You know, I
didn't want to. I didn't want it to do because
of an injury that that I stopped playing, or to
be because I just couldn't get anybody out anymore.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
You know.

Speaker 7 (31:10):
So this is a This was perfect. It really was.
It was the perfect way to do it. I still
feel like I can get people out this next month
if I need to, and then I don't have to
do that anymore, so it'd be great.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
Yeah, So it was a good day. Yesterday. Charlie and
Kelly's two oldest kids showed up in Seattle as well
with their mom and he It's not a lot of
times any caliber a player pitcher gets to retire on
their own terms and pitch as well as Krushaw's pitched
this season. There's only a handful of athletes that can
say that.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Dave Asa brought to you by Service Titan Southern California.
Commercial and residential contractors using service Titan software typically see
a seventeen percent in place in revenue in their first
two years or more. Go to servicetitan dot Com individual
result to do, you have to go, Dave, or can
you answer one more? I got a quick one.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
I gotta go the first basement. Mister October is waiting
for me. He wants to have a meeting.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Oh well, all right, go see Freddie Man, who has
gotten a hit in every single one of his World
Series games. I suppose he's more important.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Well, we're gonna ask him, Matt. I could try to answer,
all right, here we go. I mean, you're just talking
about who's got the seams in their head and everybody
knows that I do.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
You tip the cap to Clayton? Doesn't sound like he's
trying to put the squeeze on the Dodgers about making
sure he has a role in the playoffs, saying, you know,
if I do get a chance, is he gonna get
a chance? I assume he's not going to be on
the wild card roster because he just pitched five yesterday.
But are we going to see him again?

Speaker 1 (32:44):
I believe we will. I believe that we will win.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
I believe that we will win.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
How's that was that a good answer?

Speaker 2 (32:55):
It's a real good answer.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
You want to ask Tim Kates?

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Gates?

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Oh yeah, I feel good about Uh'm pitching right now,
and uh you know, no, you're not fighting.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I'm asking you to answer the Questionshaw. Is he gonna
pitch again in a Dodger uniform?

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Yeah, I he'll pitch in the NLDS. He's not in
the wildcar round, as Dave alluded to, because where you like,
you think they will give him the ball. In the
NLDS one dred percent. That means one of the lefties
in the bullpen is not going to make the NLDS
roster because Kershaw is going to take a spot. Bonda
Vessia Robleski looking at you, kid.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
So there's your answer, Matt Jack. It is as Lebron
James would say, all your answer right that.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Thank you, Lebron. I appreciate that breakdown. You've got a
pair of playoff tickets to give away. We'll do it
really close to three o'clock.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Can I tell you something that happened on Friday? Yeah,
while we listen to the Ventures play Arthur Ronnie'll tell
me before the song's gonna end. But Tim Kates did
like a dorky Irish accent and broke in and like
did that.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
And I've had no I need that because I've had
like at least four people text on the text also
saying we need this that should be clipped off.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
That's unbelievable moment because Don McClain went to please.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
I don't remember that moment, Petro.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
It's I would have forgotten, but three or four people
texted Dog's like two please please. Maybe if Tim could
find that, it's pretty great. Anyway, we'll be right back
with how is your weekend?

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Hello, PMS listener?

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Did you know Am five seventy LA Sports has a
wide range of LA Sports podcasts.

follow Us, and many more.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Just go to A five seventy LA Sports on the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
At Petros and Money AM five seven of your home
of the Dodgers Monday not Football Tonight, and Modelo meets
you a lot of Monday on the Petroson Money Show Modello.
It's not a real meach if it's not made with Modello,
the all powerful ticket broker, Matt money Smith, not since
Barry Old and such. All right, but I don't want

(35:30):
to forget at the end, No, we won't tie a
ribbon around your finger.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
We won't. You know, the weekend typically goes past the
top of the hour, so right when he hit that
three o'clock, probably somewhere around Ronnie Ronnie Saturday night, does it?

Speaker 1 (35:50):
It's the principle of it.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
I guess yes, it does matter. Okay, all right, we
live in a world with rules.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Okay, that's right. I'm gonna do what I do.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
The weekend is mine. So how was your weekend?

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Well, Matt, how was your weekend in New York City? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (36:06):
That was great? Alarm went off five thirty New York
Times Saturday. That would be, of course two thirty LA time.
I had a car ready to pick us up. Drive
us out to Bethpage Black for the Ryder Cup. Arrived
there just after seven am Local time. Followed Patrick Cantley
around for a little bit, had a quick chat with
Pop Steve, who's a listener of the show and made

(36:27):
our wave. Steve Cantley following him and Patrick for that
morning session. Connected with superagent Philip Rivers agent Jim Detton, great,
great dude, So I saw him for a little bit
and come to find out our daughters probably played lacrosse
against each other back in the day, same age. His
daughter played for Navy, Peyton for Dartmouth. There for a minute,

(36:48):
connected with some Chargers folks who made the trip out,
and that was really the only highlight that in the Euros.
The Euros are great fans, especially the Swedes, all decked
out and they're blue and gold and wigs and stilts
and all kinds of craziness. But the Americans played absolutely horrible.
I got out of there after the morning session. Took
me about an hour forty five to get back. DJ

(37:10):
stayed to watch the blood bath. Afternoon session took him
over three hours to get back to the city from
beth Page. Yeah, we got bad traffic here, but that's
it's a different level when you hit traffic out there.
Took the train from Jersey City where we were staying
to go see Peyton, walk around with her, walked around
with her for a little bit. We hung out in
the East Village, Saint Mark Street. Kind of a thing.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Mean, when you go to play the Giants, you never
go to New York.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
You technically, you technically don't have to. This is the
team stay in Jersey.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
In college, and we never we never touched the Manhattan Island.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
There I took the train to go see Peyton, my
oldest She lives in the East Village, so we hung
out for a little while, went to dinner delicious Italian
spot called Lavagna, and then Saturday am got up really
early to go see her for breakfast her favorite spot,
Apollo Bagels, my favorite spot right across the street, very
close to where she lives. Mario's Irish soda bread so

(38:08):
very unhealthy but very delicious, bready breakfast, and then took
the bus out to MetLife. As you said, be back
in New Jersey and a big thank you to our
friend mutual friend of ours, e Dub who was able
to hook me up. He runs the Believe stuff that
I do with Lorenzo O'Neil with field passes for Peyton,
So she got out there extra early and we were

(38:29):
able to hang on the field for a couple hours.
Sam Farmer was out there, chatted with him for a
little bit. Game was a mess. Flight home. Lost two
games of scrabble to Shannon Farren. She crushed me in
the first one. Thought I had her on my very
last word goo lag, but alas I was still ten

(38:50):
points short and caught up with the wife and Preston
got home last night about ten o'clock. And yeah, that
was the weekend.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Welcome home from the Big Thanks from the Cats.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
Well, my weekend sucked compared to that. I mean, I
just went to a high school.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Football Cardark took me to beth Page. I left on
time and didn't run into traffic.

Speaker 4 (39:10):
I mean I went to Locking yacht of High School
on Friday night.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
My beautiful daughter, my vibrant daughter in a vibrant town. Yeah,
I went and watched a Autumn in New York by
Bobby Short.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
I went to a high school football game Friday night,
which was was fun.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
You were dressed like Dawson's Creek.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
Then went to Bob's Big Boy afterwards, because that's what
you do. You know, it's the nineteen sixties all over again.
You go to the soda fountain and get a burger
and a milkshake. Saturday, I had a Compass Media College
Football Game of the Week Auburn at Texas A and
M and then Dodgers pregame. Sunday had Raiders and Dodgers
kind of intertwined with each other, so it was a
busy Sunday for me. Did postgame for Dodgers after Game

(39:49):
one sixty two. But I think the highlight of the weekend,
guys was sitting down for a little bit on Saturday
night and an hour last night to watch the three
part documentary series on Who What's It? On Amazon Prime.
It is called Cocaine Quarterback.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Oh yeah, cocaine. That was making the rounds on the
on the plane. Everybody was talking cocaine quarterback.

Speaker 4 (40:10):
It is unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
And everybody knows somebody in the documentary, like everybody you know,
especially here on the West Coast, you know, especially here
in my town and usc types everybody knows some sweaty
guy on the arm of the cocaine quarterback And all
of those photos just all yacked out to the rafters.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
I didn't know the story.

Speaker 4 (40:28):
I didn't know Owen Hanson, but certainly found out all
about him and how he kind of was a volleyball
player turned football player. Was in that class maybe right
after you or blending with you, Petros there two thousand,
two thousand and one, two thousand, couple of years after okay, yeah,
And it was kind of came up with Lionert and
Bush and Linda Light Lindall Whites in the documentary. So
it was Brandon Hancock, former fullback at USC. And this

(40:49):
guy's story is crazy. It's an interesting story. You can
see where he goes down this path based on how
he's wired and what he wanted to do with his future.
And all his buddies are now making millions of the NFL.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Fired like a criminal.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Yeah, and to see what he's doing now out of
jail and speaking to pop warners, you know, players and
kids and got his life right, hoping.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
For the best Cocaine quarterback.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
But it is a crazy story off square now, I
mean worked for the cartel and was you know, getting
drugs into Australia and money laundry. It is a wild,
wild documentary. I knew nothing about it. He watched all
three episodes. Watched all three and it was happening right
here in our backyard in southern California, USC, Redondo Beach.
I had no idea about this, but this was crazy.

(41:31):
So I recommended Cocaine Quarterback on Amazon Prime. That's my weekend, guess, Ronnie.

Speaker 8 (41:37):
Guys had a nice weekend myself, nothing like like Matt had.
Of course, I'm glad Tim follows Matt. That's a hard
act to follow.

Speaker 5 (41:43):
There.

Speaker 8 (41:44):
Saturday, we celebrated my son Julian's birthday with a family barbecue.
I was on the grill cooking up burgers and sausages
and had all kinds of other food items available, as
well as different desserts and pastries from Portos. There were
also some tequila shots involved in a lot of talk
about the upcoming nuptials are taking place in about two
and a half weeks. Sunday we stayed home with domestic

(42:07):
chores the Dodgers, NFL, Foosball, and Poil Loco and watched
Alien Earth on Hulu.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
And that was my week cat the movie with John
Travolta with a scientology movie. No it is not. Do
you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Matt Oh? That was Alien Battlefield Earth, Battlefield Earth, all right?

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Sorry?

Speaker 2 (42:29):
Yeah, different?

Speaker 4 (42:29):
Hey, Ran, do you have Amazon Prime? I do Cocaine Quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
You have to watch it. What about you, pee?

Speaker 8 (42:35):
How is your weekend?

Speaker 1 (42:36):
Well? I went to yoga on Saturday and Sunday at
my sister's yoga studio. That's the one right right there
on crunch on Torrent right there. And then I had
to drive my daughter to the top of the Hill

(42:58):
for her soccer game. But I couldn't day to watch
the game. I had to then take my son and
my dad all the way to Lachan YadA from Pallas Verdes.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
Oh, hey, there, I was there Friday night.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Yeah, I had to go to Saint Francis High School
the next sports Jim Bonds Field, A beautiful field. You know,
we've talked about Saint Francis and the late Jim Bonds
and what a great guy he was, and then Dean
Harrington and the job he's done there, and we always
talk about my neighbor Ralph played there. But uh, I'd

(43:32):
never been to the stadium. What a beautiful stadium and
so weird that it's that close to the Laka YadA
High School, separated by the parking lot home of the Spartans.
Parking is sparse. And then my friend Litigator Dad happened
to be there because his daughter Riley was cheering, and

(43:53):
the litigator Dad, you know, he's out there, He's driven
an hour and a half to watch his daughter, saying
go fight when and we're losing by twenty to the
Beach City Sharks.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
He still might be able to dig out of that.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
Well, what he was like, you know, you want to
go have a drink and I was like, well, I
got my dad here. You know, it's like an hour
before kick My dad's like why so early. I was like,
cause he's on the team. You can't just show up
and you know, kick off.

Speaker 4 (44:19):
Why didn't you text me? I would have sent you
to a great place in montros right up the road.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
We went to Hill Street to have a beer. We
had one quick beer and it was like the whole time,
He's like, I can't believe we're doing this. I was like,
it was your idea, you know, what do you want?
You know, it's like visiting a prostitute and you like
the whole time, She's like, look at yourself, look at you.
It's like, could you wait till after.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
With the cash? Here?

Speaker 1 (44:46):
Can we just enjoy the beer.

Speaker 4 (44:48):
I would have sent you to Pepees on Honolulu.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Sorry, yeah, I mean look.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
So what is it? Is it Pepees or is it
Hill Street? Kate's come on, pepe is is the place
I would have.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Hill Street I found to be a little bit soulless.
I have to be. But there was another bar that
was closed, and then Taylor's Steakhouse, which I know, well
doesn't didn't look to be open either at that time
of day. So anyway, Yeah, we lost to Beach Cities.
We got behind and uh and and then yesterday I
just stayed around the hill. Oh I watched the end

(45:18):
of the Oregon Penn State game.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Well, yeah, I woke up for that too.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
Yeah. I watched that with with the real estate dad
and Renzo Chaconi and some of the young children.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
I'll never understand the you get the ball second you're
on the road and you don't go for two. I
know it worked out for him, but it's just kind
of are you you know?

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Are you? Are you? Are you disparaging the cocaine quarterback
of college football, Dan Lanning? I am sleep until October.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Right, I don't understand you have a chance to win
a game on the road. You scored three points through
three quarters and all you have to do is gain
two yards here and the game is over and you
a lot over time. Let's go to a second over
time and see if this thing works out.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
For we have to win for Landing. It was James
Franklin's record against teams in the top twenty five continues
to be less than impressive and For those of you
that were like, yeah, USC's got a great foundation. I
told you about their undisciplined nature. Six penalties in the
first half, Illinois gashing them in ways that you never

(46:28):
thought they could be gashed defensively, everybody has moved the
ball against them, Purdue, Michigan State, and now Illinois and
everybody that wanted to give Jaden Mayova the Heisman and
USC the comeback Team of the Year award. Where are
you now? Where are you?

Speaker 2 (46:49):
Where are they? Now?

Speaker 1 (46:50):
Are they? The coin quarterback? All sweaty, arm and armed
Patrick Malloy's Matt give away those tickets? Brother?

Speaker 2 (46:56):
There we go at three zero two pm. Coller ten
eight six six out eight seven two five seventy are
first of three pair during the show here to give
away the wild Card Game one.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
I didn't even have to fit in the fact that
I went by myself to Tacos El Galoso and had
a bean cheese burrito to make it all the way
to three o'clock. I didn't even have to stretch out
that far.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
We are giving away a pair of ticket every tickets
every hour. This will be our first pair, even though
it is just past three o'clock. That's how we work it,
petro some money show typically starts at three. We are
now out of Rogan and Rodney real estate and into
our territory. So caller ten eight six six, nine, eight
seven two five seventy. We'll give another pair of tickets
away before the four o'clock, before the clock strikes four,

(47:36):
and then one between four and five. Remember there's still
some tickets available, not a lot of I should say
not a lot, but some Dodgers dot com slash postseason
if you want to go see Blake Snell take the
ball tomorrow Game one a six oho eight pm first pitch.
But caller ten right now gets a pair eight six, six,
nine eight seven two five to seventy.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
I'm also getting worried that the cocaine quarterback in real
life is a very bad guy who wouldn't stop selling
to people who had serious drug problem. I could see
that and should not be celebrated just because he's agreed
to do a documentary about what a pos he was.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
I just said the documentary was fascinating that I didn't
say he was a great guy.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
All right.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
I think you're uh. I think your your very close
friend Brandon Hancock had a big role in putting that
thing together.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
Pee Brandon foot Penis.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
I believe he had a very big role in getting
the documentary made and he has a prominent role.

Speaker 4 (48:28):
He was there when he got out of jail. Give
him a big hug. Yeah, prison, I should say.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
Feels like you want to go pick him up from
the halfway house and drive him over to the in
and out Burger.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Yeah, Kates, Maybe you guys go get beating cheese burritos
to go like fire.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
