How's the stream stream commencing broadcasting on a m five
to seventy l A Sports and streaming on the iHeartRadio while.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's the longest running afternoon sports show in the city.
No congratulations necessary. All traces of Fred Rogan have been removed.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
This is Petros in Money, Thank You, Thank You, hosted
by Petros papada.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Gus terrible person, he's the worst and Matt money Smith.
The pipes, the pipes, the pipe. Don't miss an episode.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
It's the World Series, for Christ's sakes. Kevin help, he's trying, man,
You're trying.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Kevin. We appreciate that you have told a story about
his production abilities. We haven't had a vic text.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Due I feared to be eccentric in opinion for every
opinion now accepted, was once eccentric.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Don the Yuks Petro San Monday AM five seventy LA
Sports Live everywhere on the iHeart Radio app. It is
Game three of the World Series. We're live at Dodger Stadium,
just like Rogan and Rodney before us for a few hours.
We'll be here until four o'clock in the gym day, Jed, I,
like my father before me, tim Cats will take over
from the gapin Motors Broadcast booth, first pitch, five eight PM,
(01:31):
winner of Game three. I'm sure it has been mentioned
repeatedly on a five seventy LA sports from scam. Certainly
not during Colin, but I would assume during Rogan and Rodney.
Winner of Game three sixty nine percent of the time
wins a seven game series in Major League Baseball, So
a pivotal game with Tyler glassnow our dear friend who
(01:51):
we caught up with on the field but a week ago.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Pete, it's like our son's going out right a pitch.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
I mean, that's how close we are with Glass now,
even though you did, Matt show the great fortitude and
also grace to take the knot out of his name
that you were calling him for so long, your ultimate
show of respect because he's a friend of the show. Now,
(02:16):
yes we appreciate him. It's Game three of the World Series,
like Matt zaid five eight Glass now versus maxser A,
once beloved Dodger acquisition, now a discolored eye freak to
many Dodger fans who blame him much like David Vasse
(02:40):
for tapping out so many years ago when he was
supposed to pitch a game six.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Stepped out.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Said, you should have never used me in that game
five against the Giants.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
You exposed me.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
And I always thought that it wasn't because he threw
it so hard in the game five versus the Giants.
I thought it was more about the fact that he
screamed himself inside out.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
When the game was over.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
I think that's the un If I really scream at
my kids, I'm like, Wow, that really tired me out,
you know, screaming so hard. And I remember Sureser back
in the day on the mound screaming so hard that
his eyes were going full tied eye.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
You think those things change colors.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Yeah, so heart very very interesting matchup in the pitching tonight.
Everybody's exciting. We do have multiple sponsors because and we'll
be doing Instagram lives and things like that because we
have sold extra stuff during the World Series for our
World Series coverage.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
And that's good for us being it's good for us,
it's good for the station. We see the logo that
glorious ostriche on the monitor here in our AM five
to seventy LA Sports iHeartRadio suite from the field to
the work site. Streuss powering our World Series coverage on
AM five seventy LA Sports is Strauss made history as
the first brand ever featured on professional baseball Helmet's family owned,
(03:57):
trusted worldwide.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
St r a Uss Strauss dot Com.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
That's one sponsor, and we got out before we get
to the next week. But we want to yeah, you know,
we want to space out the sponsorship to do it
right exactly. I do want to say this, there's some
stuff that we should maybe perhaps carry over from SCAM
that I always find interesting, Like we're like a real
radio station, like in a big market where there's a morning.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Show and then you get it on.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
I'd love to carry something over from the midday show,
but it would just be Fred telling stories about how
he outproduced everybody in the late eighties in local news.
But he did. That was his That was his filler
all the way to the end of the show. But
as far as Scam goes, this Morning Sax and Kate's
in the AM, a few recurring World Series themes reared
(04:48):
their Heads on scam that we have dealt with just
as an LA station over the years. Well, the one
that I thought was really fun and it's really more
of a cats thing.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
But he's absolutely right.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
I mean, we're in LA for three games right here,
History repeating like Matt's favorite band, the Propeller Heads, Shirley.
Three days, Yes they got that sample of really, James,
come on, give.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
It to me, History repeat it.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Yeah, three days in a row, same time, same sweet,
same people. And if the if the interaction is any
chillier between Matt and I got to wear an extra
uh cardigan. If the interaction between Matt and Rodney Pete
is any chillier, I.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Thought it was very warm earlier today. Same food.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I said hey Rodney, and he said hey, money, and
then I turned around and walk band into the.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Suitek same great prices. I love the food and I
love the price.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
They'll be Toyota Instagram Lives, They'll be Strauss Instagram Lives.
It is a model. Will meet a lot of Monday.
Then we'll get to the stuff we do on the field.
Matt is brought to you by the Ostrich because you
can't have an Ostrich in the suite is what I heard.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
But we're working on it for game four.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
The interesting reoccurring theme is Tim Kates, who puts in
a lot of work.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Let's be honest, host, producer, and game.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Let's say that it's just August, right, It's not September
or October where Scam is really scamming. But Tim Kates
is here or doing the show. If the Dodgers are
on the road, he's parked in Burbank like he's very
If the Dodgers are breakfast, as Mike Leech used to say,
(06:34):
Tim Kates is truly invested.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
He's like the sausage.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
You know, he's given his flesh as opposed to the
egg or the toast. You know, Tim Kates is the pork.
Like he's all the way invested in the Dodgers. And
he gets really, really upset. And he said this on
Scam this morning, and then he trotted down the hall
to Gary and Shannon and attacked the cheeseball local media
people who act like they've been here all year.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Oh they had Tim on instead of read this time.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
That's upsetting too. That is a low blow that.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Was for you, Kate's I know you took it personally
when they brought Fred up when you were standing right there.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
That's a low blow, Matt, that's a really low blow.
We'll get to why you're in a bad mood in
a moment. But the media people who act like they've
been here all year, Kate's really hates those.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
I can see that because they're kind of like, and I.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Did I have done this before where you show up
at the end of a wedding and you kind of
joined the crowd, acting like you were there.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
The whole time, Like Sarah, it's a great mood. This
is great. It's a great mood. What a beautiful god
bride is gorgeous.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
But the only way local media people can pull that
off is if they really saw something about the wedding
or they know anything about the wedding, which are in
this case the Dodgers, and they usually don't. Tim Katz
is right, He's absolutely right. The local baseball theme with
the media insufferable.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
It's mostly local morning shows that really grind his gears.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Yeah, but what is it, katesy?
Speaker 4 (08:06):
It doesn't bother you, guys, Well, you're the one up
in the morning watching the local news.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
You're watching Channel five, Channel eleven, are all here.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
In center Field, brought nobody and then they're all doing
the same thing.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Honestly nobody, and I mean nobody watches the local news anymore,
which is why it's so impactful to have Fred tell
stories about what it was like to produce local news.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Somebody's got to tell those stories in the eighties, so
they'll be lost to history.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
We have to remember even David Horowitz and Paul Moyer
and Jillian Barbary and I mean, we got a Roxy
Steve Edwards, she's still around a Roxy. It took took
Edwards out and she's still She's still churning forward. Lucy, Dorothy, Lucy,
I mean, Tim really really is resentful.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
All the local morning news today were doing the same
thing here at Dodgers on the morning track and doing
the food what's new at the World Series the DoD
there's a.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Tomahawk steak for saying you can get a tomahawk steak?
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Is it the Joe Davis Tomaha?
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Maybe it's inspired by super Master Griller Dodger play by
play man and the play by play man on Big
Fox for the World Series Bobblehead.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Joe Guess the scam last week by the way it.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Could be because of Bobblehead Joe Davis, who loves to
grill meets and even carved a turkey for Canadian Thanksgiving.
I can even deal alcs with John Smolts. Right, there's
a Tomahawks steak for sale. I think it's out in
the outfield. Oh so it's available to everybody channel. It
(09:36):
comes with jim Curry, Jen Pop. You can get a
Tomahawks steak. It comes with Jimmy Churry and a horse radish,
and I can't. I don't think I've been able to
nail down the price because the price on that one
isn't listed, so I.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Would it's for the World Series.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Is it like sliced where I can eat it with
a fork, or do I need to sit down somewhere?
Speaker 4 (09:56):
It looks like you're gonna need to sit down. They're
gonna cook it for you. But it looks like you'd
need to sit down because I'm thinking steak. You don't
want that thing sitting around under a heat lamp. You
want to know they look like they're gonna grill it
for you. You're gonna like sit there and wait for
it to be grilled for you. And it's from what
I gather, it's one hundred and twenty five dollars. Okay,
it seems well actually for here though, like for Dodgers,
(10:20):
like the markup on a hot dog is like seven
or eight times.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
So but I'm still not parting with but twelve bucks
for the hot dog, you know, I gotta do ten
times that for a steak.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
It's up.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
And I mean I can go to Morton's and get
the big filet, not the little one.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
You guys, Dodgers are selling a whole char grilled tom
on a Hawk steak for the World Series.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Now it doesn't say how much that costs. But there
are surfing turf nachos, crispy Wan Todd Chips topped with
fresh lobster grilled steak, spicy Pondzu sauce, scallion, cilantro, Piko
de gayoh Granma. That's forty five nine at the shell Fish.
That's a premium the state a premium anyway? Is that
what you resent? Kate Tomahawk's steak dog. I'm okay with that.
(11:08):
It bothers me. I don't like seeing it, but I
get it, I understand it. What bothers me is they
go over to the general news guy who's all of
a sudden got a Dodger poll over and a pullover,
and it's a sh medium because the guy's one hundred
and forty five pounds.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Well, I take a little bit of offense to that.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
I'll be honest, I'm not looking at you, but I
am clocking in at like. It's rather here the.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Guys here at the stadium, and it's like, hey, let's
try a hot dog.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Let's try a Dodger dog.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
It's like you're talking to an audience of people who
have had Dodger dogs their entire life. Just because you
got here Dick showing Feld all of a sudden and
you're a new reporter here.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
I'm glad you put showing Feld on the end of that.
I didn't know where you were going for I knew.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Where I was going. But uh, let's be honest. What
we don't have a Dick showing Felled on our show.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
They do not.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
But just because you've never had a Dodger dog doesn't
mean we haven't had Dodge. We've already had Dodger dogs. Right,
We don't need you telling us how good a right straightly.
Your taste has extremely late to the part.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Even even with your female heavy viewership, those ladies, for
the most part, know what a Dodger dog is, have
probably had one, or know someone very close to them
that have had one in the course of their lives.
The Dodger dog thing does not need to be done.
I understand.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
Oh you know what, Let's go out to a live
shot right now. We got Mary Jones and La Puente
at Roberta's Bakery and they're making.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Donuts out there.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Are then, oh my god, they have blue frosted what
out here at the Gulliver's Bakery in Upland we are Yeah,
it is in sun coverage, But what do you want
them to do? That's the only way they know how
to cover the World Series, Tims.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
It's the biggest story in town. They don't know how
else to cover the world.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
They're not going to talk about the Dodgers slumping in August.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
How about you talking about traffic getting into Dodger Stadium,
the dues and don'ts of how to properly get into
Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
Well, before we get into that, let's tell everybody it's
a well that I'll meet you a lot of Monday
on the Petrols and Money show.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Bartender Brad was here.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
Early Leary, Brad, Brad, Paul Nelson, he was opening too.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
The show was about Brad. It's not a real meet
a lot of if it's not made with Modello. That's
a reward for those with a fine spirit Modello even
here at Dodger Stadium, even for World Series Game three,
Sures versus Glass.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Now it is the mark of a fighter.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
How pissed is day gonna be when you guys go
down in a few minutes to the field.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Why I start talking to Brad Paisley. We're not gonna
talk to Parsley. Well, Paisley talks to us.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
In our defense, he tends to walk over and Dave
then engages Brad Paisley, who then engages us. We give
him a microphone and then he gets upset. That's not
our fault, we're Brad.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Paisley was teased this morning that he didn't say who
it was because they didn't announce it, but that there
would be a very special first pitch being thrown out
and there'd be a very special national anthem being sung,
and he teased that Vassy did first to Sax and
Kate's in the am another morning show crossover, Matt, not
(14:12):
just local news hatred and now it's all revealed, has
all been revealed and forgiven? Yes, Okay, So Brad Paisley's
gonna sing the national anthem?
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And who's the super secret first pitcher Deo Nomo look at.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
That, which is pretty exciting obviously, the Japanese connection and
Hadeo Nomo following it. He was a pitcher from Japan.
Otani's a pitcher from Japan. Yamamoto just pitched a complete game, right, Well,
we know you had a hard time getting in, Matt,
and overall.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Well tip of the captain Tim katesp because I think
I might still be sitting.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
But we had a conversation about we did, and I
was very negative, as I often am, about the logistics
of the World Series getting in here, getting out of here,
dealing with the throngs of media. I'd say, there's five
times more media down here. There's there worth being the
other for even the NLCS. There is a ton of
(15:07):
media here. Everybody in the whole baseball collective world is here.
There's no other games going on, nobody's split up. Everything
is right here. The global sports media is at Chavez Ravine,
and it's tricky as the playoffs advance. Tell it is
(15:29):
as the playoffs get more and more intense and the
team's lesson that are competing. When you get to the
tippity top of the mountain here, the air is rare
and it's harder to get in to this ancient parking lot. Well,
here's what I'll say from the nineteen fifties.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
So I hop off the one ten and uh, I'm
coming up the back door. You did predict the police academy.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
You did predict that it would be smooth, and you
kept a positive attitude, and you said, I have to say, uh,
I had a very smooth time of getting in. Everybody
was nice and friendly and familiar. And I said to myself, Wow,
(16:13):
Matt was right. This really did work out well. And
then I was very upset to see that it did
not work out well.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
So I've got two sides. There's two sides to that coin.
And this is where Tim Kates comes in.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
But you know what you want to do.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
What you want to do, though, is make it in
here without being flustered.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah, right, exactly, to do no bumps in the road,
get in here, do the show. If it's on the
way out. Whatever our work is done. Now we've uh
complained via exactly. So I I'm coming up the back
roads where the police academy is. I hit it at
one pm. It is now one nineteen pm.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
You hit the city after one am.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Load it, and I decide, you know what, I better
call Kate's here and figure out if I've got to
get you know, I don't know, just adverse.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
I can't speak out to you. If I'm sitting in
a car not moving for nineteen minutes flustered is going
to be a euphanism for how I feel.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
So Kate says, hey, what I think is happening, especially
with Rogan and Rodney burning up the airways?
Speaker 3 (17:18):
If you ain't kidding, Kate says, what I think is
happening is these fans, Well, how about these fans tell
you what's amazing? Are trying to get in? The parking
lots don't open till two and they're just lined up,
and the folks that are up at the gate are
not letting them turn. They're like, you can't come in,
You've got to sit here. So Kate says, hey, man,
I would just go on the wrong side of the road.
(17:40):
Haul ass up there, tell him you're in the media
and just get around it. And I would have never
guessed that were the case. And in fact, as soon
as he told me that, I immediately hopped on the
other side of the road, got to the light. Nice
lady up there waved me through. Folks at the gate
waved me in.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
So that was okay, that was all once you got
by these fans.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
It was my ignorant nts that led to my frustration
and my being flustered, not recognizing that I had not moved,
and I was not gonna move until two pm if
I had not called the man with all the Dodger knowledge,
Tim Kates, to alert me to that particular prop And now.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
It looks as if not only is the parking lot open,
but the gates are open as well.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
They are flooding through.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
And our man, Big Brad Nelson said he was open
at too, downstairs in the fancy bar that He's like,
I got to drop these off early, guys, because I'm
open and I'm serving booze. It's World Series, so I
guess it must open an hour earlier than it normally
does for the CHI Is that right?
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Well we got When Tamahawks say steak for sale, man,
it takes about an hour to cook.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
We gotta get those things room back, one of those
things before the game starts.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
You don't have to get it in order and write
what about that surfing?
Speaker 3 (18:47):
A surfer turf one tom nachos, and don't forget about
the torta.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
It is delicious. The I will say, pasted my own
personal ignorance. But did did you? U was a joy?
Did you wreck? Very easy? Did you didn't wreck? The
irony of you having to wait and being and being?
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (19:07):
I think it would be the two eyes, the irony
and the ignorance combined the lack of understanding, as opposed
to just you know, screaming a little bit in the car,
firing off.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
A text I haven't moved. What do I do? Calling
Tim Kats like a child calling his father, like, dude,
help me get out of his mood? Could you bunch
the steering wheel? I didn't.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
I think had I not called Tim, that probably would
have happened, because I didn't know, you know, what the
approach was.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
It's like, Okay, I'm.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Stuck in this middle lane here. I can't go to
my right. I can't go to my left. I haven't moved.
How do I get out of this? And then I
just decided to get super aggressive.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
And you could blame a lot of this on David Vasse,
who went on the morning radio and told everybody, get
here early, very special national anthem, get here early, very
special first pitch being thrown out.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
It's not even my pahone, it's his fault.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Steve Sachs is out there saying why how could it
be a special first pitch when I'm not throwing it out.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
He's like, you did it already.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
So there's you know, there's a lot of nerves, you know,
a lot of nerves, a lot of tight butthole series.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Man, it's the World Series, Matt. We all want to
be in our places with brideshining faces. Nothing tightens a
buttthole like the World Series. Everybody knows that.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Everybody knows that, and that's why we have some concerns
about heart High School Zone. Tyler Glass, now tonight, do
you have concerns? I mean, he's a dear friend of
the show.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
I do, and I think, as we a quick preview,
if we ever get to it, maybe we won't. Oh
I'm sure what story is, you know, for all of
the incoming that the bullpen's taken, how about the bats man?
Can we get the freaking bats to wake up a
little bit, help these starters out, help Lick smell out
a little bit while he's out there struggling.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
And you saw up one or zeros in each of
these innings.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Jim kats was like a human Noos on Twitter during
Game two, trying to wake the Dodger Bats up, sending
all kinds of memes and gifts and tweets try to
get the Dodgers going. And finally those those tweets got
through custom right, and they poked the Dodgers in the
colo with the hot poker they did, and they got
them five spot going. It's you know, if the Dodgers
(21:08):
were gonna split out in Canada, Matt, you have to
say Game two is the one you'd want to take, right,
so you get the momentum coming home.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
And so David Bassy doesn't walk in it, No, I
go roost to it because.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Snell got the win and Yamamoto didn't.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
So it helps us there as we go down on
the field, maybe a little bit more fewer insults being
should be more humble, I think otherwise. I mean, imagine
if Yamamoto loses that Game two and Snell wins Game one,
you know, the whole theme of the interview is gonna
be what did I tell you?
Speaker 4 (21:38):
The whole theme of the day, Right, All these Dodger
fans would not have that win to think about in
their immediate minds.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
They would not have that.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Hope of continuing the same thing, keeping it continue the
same thing, and the team would have a loss in
their crawl all the way home, not just David Vassy
and a super special relationship.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
The coaches and everybody else getting stuck at the at
the border for an afternoon, not getting back here until
five point thirty at night on Sunday after that Saturday game.
So certainly feels a lot better flying home with a
win that you're coming off of and assuming that Blake
Snail's not going to see that happen the next time
he goes out, why would we expect that to happen.
He's been domming it for the last eight weeks.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
He will be David Vassy's guests.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Oh look to the rong though, Casino Dodgers on Deck,
which is coming up in about an.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Hour and a half. Matt and I are going to
go down into the scrub, into the field.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
We're going to go down into the field. There's a
lot of people down there. We're going to talk to
Vassa and chop it up. We might come back up
right after that. We might stay down. We do have
how is your weekend? We have a word number and
a song. Matt's got a preview and then we'll say
syanaradeo nomo. Man.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
He's throwing out the first pitch.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Guys still not following it? Listen, I'm sorry. I'm trying
my best to be clear.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh look at that. It's that. It's that show that
Case likes.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
That's intentional talk with Vin Malar. Yeah, Ryan Dempster and.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Who's the host, Sira CentOS, And I think that's is
that Brad past.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
Paisley on the set? Where did David veasse I hardly
wear pants? Dade? Oh my god? It is really viral,
isn't it. Brad Paisley's over there doing it. They was
doing it when I got here.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
They were talking to Mookie bats down there, and it
was your favorite guy. Oh, Kenny the Pentecostal headfire of
Kenny Kenny, and he looked big and wide.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
He looked like a tight end. He was, He's a
big guy. Didn't realize that.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Yeah, he looked like that South Dakota tight end from
last night. I see Drosa down there, and then the
Fox people are set up the they are set up
over on the third baseline, and we saw them bring
out their jib camera.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
We Gita really stepped in it, didn't he. Uh, he
really stepped in it with the Yamamoto stuff.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Well, you don't want to say something absolut like that
there's no chance he's not and that if he does,
then you were exactly the opposite wrong. You should say,
I can't imagine that he's gonna throw It's gonna be
hard to imagine. Or wow, who would expect him to
throw another complete game?
Speaker 2 (24:17):
I certainly don't. I mean you could say that historically speaking,
that just never happened.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah, But when you say that so definitively, there's no chance,
you know, I don't know. I don't work with anybody
that's definitive. I try to stay in the grain.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
That's good for you. We'll be right back.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Somebody's got to We're gonna go down to the people
want We're gonna go down to the field.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I'm gonna have this chip with guacamole real quick, or
you do that, and then.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
We're gonna go down to the field and then we'll
talk to Vase.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Anything can happen down there, possibilities.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
If I was like Derek Jeeter, I would say, I
don't think anything's gonna happen right and all of a sudden,
now I'm set out to fame. Five interviews deep with Santos.
We still got a nightingale in his tope suit in
a chamber.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
All wait for Santos. You guys do the show, Kim,
We'll be right back with Mark Petro. Somebody live from.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
The suite on AMPI sitting LA Sports are going down
to the field right here on your doctor station.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
We've made it even easier to take LA Sports with
you this summer.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Make AM five seventy or your favorite AM five seventy
LA Sports podcast a pre set on the iHeartRadio app
using Apple car Play or Android Auto road Trip all
summer with LA Sports.
Speaker 6 (25:49):
Petros really jumped us Petrol Sports Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio.
Brad Paigeley walking by locked eyes with David Basset, and
it was like two star crossed lovers that hadn't seen
each other.
Speaker 7 (26:02):
Right for Petrows, he gets really starstruck.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
So this is what they look like. This is what
we look like. I was ably underwhelming.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
The phone.
Speaker 7 (26:11):
That's usually the case with the radio next time.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
That's why we get radio. How do you guys feel it?
Speaker 3 (26:17):
We feel great when we're excited. You're doing the national inside,
you know. I mean, that's it gets us off to
a good start. How are you feeling?
Speaker 8 (26:23):
I feel great?
Speaker 7 (26:24):
I feel like, uh, I feel good about this.
Speaker 9 (26:26):
I feel like it's nice. They're home. You know, look
at this atmosphere. The shadows are going to work in
our favor for an end or two.
Speaker 7 (26:33):
Right, this guy Glass now is on the mound. Remember
he broke the trade.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
That's why he's here.
Speaker 9 (26:38):
Every people that there wasn't Nashville. But as far as
that goes, that's generous to say I broke at the trade.
Speaker 7 (26:46):
I pour I poured whiskey.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
If you don't open your home the loupe can of conversation,
you know, alcohol, Oh, I definitely think it changes things
the minute you introduce it to it, for sure.
Speaker 7 (26:57):
Johnny de Luca was not in the train until he
poured that.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Oh yeah, that's true. The good lord. I mean, you
don't open your doors.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
Maybe those two parties don't meet, maybe, and maybe this
deal doesn't get done, and maybe Tyler Glassanaw is not starting.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Game three of the World.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
Series is a bullpen game today? Yeah, you're a river
to your people. They could be run Casparius out there today.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Now.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
The first time I ever saw you in real life.
We tell the story all the time. I was calling
a game on Fox, a West Virginia game, and you
gave a beautiful inspirational rendition of country Road on the
fifty yard.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Line you were at that that was being you came over.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
I've done that, Yeah, And we interviewed you right and
it was and I remember being like, we got to
talk to a guy right before we kicked what are
we doing? And then I remember the performance and it
brought a tear to my eye, you know, to see
the people singing.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Together and to see the hills in the setting at
Margot Town throw back to when they opened that stadium. Yeah,
Mylon Pushcar.
Speaker 7 (27:53):
Well, it wasn't called that.
Speaker 9 (27:54):
It was Mountain Stai for a while before they decided
to name it words you can't pronounce no, but it
was like they John Denver flew in in a helicopter,
sang Country Roads for the first game, and then got
back in the helicopter flew off.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Was inspirational moment. So, I mean, when you have to
perform and it's a sporting event.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Like that, well I grew up going to those games.
Well yeah, what did that make you nervous?
Speaker 9 (28:20):
I don't know if I was nervous for that. I
felt like, look, you're that's one of those things you've
heard that stadium, that song plays, you can't go wrong.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
I didn't even need to be there. They had it
without me.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
I was singing too, but I think you needed to
be there. I mean, it was pretty cool it you
could have done it. It would have been fun.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
I can't even hold a guitar.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
But but when it when it comes to the anthem,
which is a different song, people will sing along, but
it ain't John Denver, you know what goes through. I
mean you performed everywhere all over the world and all kinds.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
Of anthons thing because I feel like the anthem that
like that was that was neat because that was Country Roads.
I'm a West Virginia and that was the place to
do it really fun and this the anthem is way
more pressure every I don't know what it is about it.
I think it's the one one of the few times
(29:09):
when you can sing and everybody's like, hurry up, get
that if you if you milk it too long, there's
a moment where it's like, oh, come on, first pitch already,
we should be already playing.
Speaker 7 (29:20):
Tell the old Canada guy that wrap it up.
Speaker 9 (29:24):
They get they get their moment. This is the This
is a weird thing to share the stage though. Another
anthem is it?
Speaker 7 (29:30):
Is it the Olympics?
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Is it Rocket's Red Glare? Or is it Land of
the Free? Like, what's the what's the same note? Right?
Speaker 9 (29:36):
So there is harder though when you single an E
free is different than Claire.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
I don't know why.
Speaker 9 (29:44):
It's easier to hit an A than a E. That's
what trips people ups, the E part.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
This is a unique interview the college football guy. We're
sitting on the field before Game three of the World Series.
This guy wants to talk West Virginia. This guy wants
singing lessons for the anthem.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
With your shared history he's one of the great singers.
Speaker 9 (30:01):
There are people switching the dial whatever.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
How many innings for Glass? Now to night?
Speaker 3 (30:06):
There we go where we guys think I'm gonna go
seven seven? I think so I'm gonna go seven. He's
gonna he's gonna he's gonna reach Pete Glass from this season.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I think he's gonna last all four quarters. If he's
a dual threat guy, he's gonna do nine. He's forgetting
where he's at. Somebody checks what you got, Brad.
Speaker 9 (30:24):
Come on, I think I'm gonna go with I'll go
with seven to I'll do seven as well.
Speaker 7 (30:30):
See, it'll be easy when the Dodgers are up seven
to one and using Sureser like a two eye penata thing.
Speaker 9 (30:37):
If we are if we do get to Suzer quickly,
which I really if I want it's that, if we
get to him, then I want to see Kershaw great call.
I want to see he's just come in with a lead,
not a right not to just take up innings for.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
You know, a loss or something. I mean, Paisley's not
messing around.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
It's not like he shows up and they give him
the Dodger hat and he's like, Okay, you know where
do I I mean, you really, you really follow this
team in a very very serious way. I mean, David'll
tell you. I know our listeners. Our listeners don't know
that for sure, but you were really like you watch
every game that you can.
Speaker 9 (31:12):
I think I've probably missed. I've probably missed eight games
this year, at least on TV. You know where I
was busy or something.
Speaker 7 (31:19):
I mean, it's funny too.
Speaker 9 (31:21):
Even when I'm in the middle of a concert, I
go on it's about the depending on the time zone,
it's fourth fifth inning.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
I go on stage.
Speaker 9 (31:28):
Road manager knows if he make makes eye contact with me,
want to come off.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
I know we won.
Speaker 9 (31:34):
If he doesn't look at me, I'm like, what I mean,
you'll ignore me, and then I'll look at him and
I'll say.
Speaker 7 (31:43):
How bad was it?
Speaker 9 (31:43):
He's like, oh, sorry, no, I don't even know.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
I never looked, and I'm like, you, son of him.
I would So, if you're playing a show, right.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
And I'm not seeing Vegas coming up this offseason.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Let's go at the sands. I would assume two nights.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
I mean, I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
I'd call it a resk.
Speaker 9 (31:58):
I wouldn't move in permanently the two nights, two nights
at the wind, How.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Beautiful, beautiful the energy like to me the glass now
thing is empty, the tank man, it's the energy of
fifty five thousand. It's the World Series, it's at Dodger Stadium.
You don't need to save them for any other game
the rest of this year. You get this win, you know,
Snell and Yamamoto win lea and come back.
Speaker 9 (32:18):
In if we need it in the game six. For sure,
he could really even Game six or something.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
But I think that empty the tank man, I say
empty it.
Speaker 9 (32:26):
I'm with r And also by the way, his breaking
stuff and his fastball playing up with these shadows, just
do it, like, go out there, don't be afraid to
throw them strikes.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
We're at home.
Speaker 9 (32:37):
They can't walk it off.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Dave, I want you to pick up on this.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
I mean, gee, if you got the mic hey, you're
our insider. You're talking to Blake Snell before the game.
Speaker 9 (32:45):
You're looking brilliant.
Speaker 7 (32:46):
There's going to be a lot less pressure on Tyler
Glass now in this start because the Dodger offense is
going to put up some runs against fake tough guy
mag Sures tonight. Wow, I'd love to see it.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (33:00):
They will not be intimidated like the Mariners with this fake,
false bravado. They know who he is and they know
he's a paper champ. They're gonna take this guy to
happy town. In the first three innis Paisley's got the
hardly want pants Dave quote T shirt. He's wearing sweet
Romeo like blast jeans, and he's suited and booted all
(33:23):
the way.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
He looks ready to rock and roll. You're at thank
you Chargers. No, No, it's like just a sip flash?
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Is it?
Speaker 7 (33:31):
The Flash's I thought he was the flash for a second.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
To you, I am speedy.
Speaker 7 (33:36):
He'd be shocked, yes much.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Actually, in fact, I might be able to beat you
in a foot rite shockingly fast.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Shocking, especially for a fat white guy. But what a
great guy Paisley is.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
Want a star to sit down with us or stand
with us here in the back with all this hoopla,
all this fanfare, gonna sing the anthem tonight.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
What a time to be alive and at Dodger Stadium for.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
All the time.
Speaker 9 (33:57):
I mean, this is wild that we're here this much.
I mean this many world series in the recent memories, let's.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Believe what's their record with you singing.
Speaker 9 (34:07):
I think they lost one game. They lost one game
of the World Series in twenty seventeen.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
But they were cheated out of that game. They were cheated,
They were cheated out.
Speaker 9 (34:17):
They don't count that on your record anymore than we
count the Asters win exactly right. No, but I think
Springer leading off tonight, But I had the Monsie walk
off in the eighteen inning game, and I had the
game one last years.
Speaker 7 (34:29):
I'll take take my chance. I'm not just saying this
because he's here. The greatest rendition this side of Marvin
Gays national anthem at the All Star Game in eighty
three was Brad Paisley performing the national anthem the first
game they let fans back into the stands at Dodger
Stadium in twenty twenty one, a pseudo opening Day. I'm
not a big anthem guy, and I'm not a big
(34:50):
bat Paisley guy, but it was it was the best
I ever heard.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
I don't, I don't know.
Speaker 9 (34:56):
I think also just the circumstances led to that feeling better.
I'm probably saying it the same I always do, But
we had not been allowed.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
To be in a game for a year in this stadium.
So is Sarah Paisley cut out in the crowd there was.
Speaker 8 (35:11):
I've got it.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
We had arts too. I got hit with the ball.
Mine and my wife's are both in the bar, in
the bar. Yeah, back at home. Yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
Speaker 8 (35:20):
My cutouts are there.
Speaker 7 (35:20):
I was at his bar.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
You weren't came.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
I had.
Speaker 9 (35:24):
We had seven seven cutouts here, beautiful dogs everything.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
Brad, You're a real prince of prince for the people.
Thanks for being here in La think the word, Thanks
for doing it.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Appreciate you.
Speaker 9 (35:33):
I wanted to finally talk to somebody really appreciate great radioheah,
let's come.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Mountaineer, Brad.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
I think you gotta go somewhere else. Mountaineer's got Central
Florida on Saturday. Anybody knows Central Florida on Saturday. You know,
great job you j You're like, that's.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Hello's you're making days up. All I said was hello.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
All I said was hello, Oh hey, we're at the
World Series. Let's talk college football.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
We have a share before a game. I thought it
was an appropriate question. Have some feel I thought, ye,
he got excited. He was happy.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
You know, Dave's gonna get his licksen whatever, He's gonna
get his licks in, and he got him in.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
He'll get to walk like a rooster today. And thank
you for brokering that, Dave. Good job, that was wonderful.
Let's talk.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
Let's get into Max Scherzer and this whole fake tough guy.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
To happen against the America well number one, so good.
Speaker 7 (36:28):
Well he really wasn't that bad.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
They're that bad and they bought into his fake tough
guy yelled at the Yeah, he yelled at the manager
and bump the pitching coach.
Speaker 7 (36:37):
That's not going to work. Guy, Look at me.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
When I talked Matt, sorry, I'm fixated on Alex call
and I'm listening.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
It was the pitching coach that he yelled at.
Speaker 7 (36:45):
Petros the pitching coach. He yelled at him there and uh,
Alex calls over there.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
So I'm looking this way now.
Speaker 7 (36:52):
Look, twenty twenty one maybe a distant memory for some,
but it's not for me and for a lot of
other people in the stadium, the people one of the
guys in that dugout that will be facing Max Scherzer tonight.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Tell us what happens, because we don't really like we know,
we remember he pitched hard against Game five right, and
he screamed and yelled after he finished the.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Game right, and it tired him out.
Speaker 7 (37:15):
So from what I've been told, now that years have
gone by, people are a little bit more candid about
the way things went down. Before Game five, he was
urging Dave Roberts that he could pitch. Then it's getting
close to crunch time where they're going to actually call
on him to close out game five, and he turns
to the bullpen coach and says, you really, you really
(37:38):
need me tonight. They're like, yes, we structured the game
around you pitching since you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
He said, you wanted to do it.
Speaker 7 (37:45):
So he pitches and closes Game five. Remember in San Francisco,
he's running around without his shirt off, like you know,
he's running around. Yeah, great moment you felt like, Okay,
this guy's for real. Then Game six, as the Dodgers
are getting ready to or to flight to Atlanta for
Game six of the NLCS, Surezer is expected to start.
(38:07):
But what we find out later is while the Dodgers
are having a workout at Dodger Stadium before they board
that flight, he starts shaking his arm and saying that
he's not feeling right, and he's him in and hying,
and then Walker Bueller's right there and he says, fine,
I'll do it. I'll pitch, and mac Sureser turns Tom
and says, wow, thank you man, I really appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
And then mac.
Speaker 7 (38:29):
Schurezer taps out. In Game six of the NLCS, Walker
Bueller pitches. They lose Game six because he's pitching on
short rest, and mac Schuzer cashes in on free agency.
Those guys in that dugout remember that they know the
real Max Scherzer. Great pitcher, great pitcher, no doubt, but
(38:50):
he's forty years old and this Dodger offense is thirsty.
They are foaming at the mouth for Max Scherzer and
Shane Bieber the next two.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Why couldn't they get to you Savage?
Speaker 3 (39:02):
A kid who looks super shaky out there from the
second he stepped down that rubber dad?
Speaker 2 (39:06):
What went wrong in those four innings?
Speaker 7 (39:07):
I just think it was a weird throw. He has
a weird throw, really, but they did get him out
of the game after four innings. So it's going to
be a repeat of Game five, and Blake Snell is
going to be our guest on the pregame show. This
guy he's looking forward to another opportunity for redemption and
also to have him pitch the Dodgers to a championship.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
It's lining up for that.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
In Game five, David vass is our guest, brought to
you by the great service Titan No Strauss Strauss and
up in the booth Strauss work where bringing you David
vass On all of our coverage from the field at
the real underscore.
Speaker 7 (39:51):
Dval came up.
Speaker 9 (39:56):
With it.
Speaker 7 (39:59):
Really didn't see Short, It's hard to see him.
Speaker 9 (40:02):
He was.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
I was looking at the concierges of the sports Lodgers
over there.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Yeah, Dave, what about Yamamoto last night or Saturday night?
Just the especially the way those that first inning started
to on nobody out and then getting the leadoff hitter
on the next couple of innings, just sort of you've
seen it all season long. It's a guy that it
feels like just nothing rattles him.
Speaker 9 (40:22):
No.
Speaker 7 (40:22):
I mean, he's proved it in October last year and
the reason why everybody was so pumped up obviously even
up the series. Obviously pitching a second consecutive complete.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Game, but.
Speaker 7 (40:34):
How beloved he is by his teammates. Everybody loves Yamamoto.
He's the most inclusive teammate, even though there is a
language barrier. He's one of the most popular teammates on
the He's one of the most popular teammates on this team.
So uh, that's part of the reason why everybody was
so excited that it was him that had that type
of game.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Again, what are you more excited for? Dave sure started
to get his boobs lit up. Marsh Paisley's national land
them or you're pregame with Schnell. I mean, my god,
it's big. There's a lot going on here.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
I really do believe everybody's excited about Max Scherzer and
also the fact that George Springer will be the first
batter here at Dodger Stadium tonight. That's one guy Dodger
fans have not forgotten about.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Yamamoto seemed to not forget about him when he drilled
him right there on the wrist too. He was in
command of all of his pitches all night, and somehow
when spread it's in there, it gets a little leaky
and cracks him right on.
Speaker 7 (41:29):
The wrist, without a doubt, Without a doubt, Hey, one
of these Spectrum News. Guys just walked by. He needed
the camera after the celebration of the NLCS. He's like, hey,
are you done? I need to follow report. He he
like literally grabbed the mic.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Out of my hand. No, yeah, really, which guy?
Speaker 7 (41:47):
He's the tall guy I walked by. I'll show him
to you next time. He takes himself really seriously, we.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Can't have It's a very serious business that we're doing here.
Speaker 7 (41:54):
Yeah, exactly, Spectrum one News, hard hitting stuff.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Great job, Dave. We are looking forward to the report
all night long.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Thank you for helping us with Paisley and helping us
be friends with your superstar country friend.
Speaker 7 (42:06):
I guarantee you could get Sean Green on a Blue
and a Dodger. There's Eric Carros wanting some World Series shine.
He never played in the World Series, so he's here.
He's getting a taste of.
Speaker 2 (42:17):

eye on the Instagram lives through a five seventy l
A Sports going to be firing off a bunch of those.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Was that last one on Instagram Live? It wasn't. I'm
sure live during Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
We'll be posted on every program at some point, and
we weren't down here waiting for another guest. But it
doesn't look as if we're going to be able to get.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
Well, everybody's atten chances trying to get is that Victorina, Victorina,
he's ditching them.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
Oh he's ditching Oh wow, that's your billy is now.
We gotta leave. We gotta lead when we're yellowing at
somebody's back like that, jeets jejee, jeez. I'm not going
to say none more than once or twice. That's it.
It's the Flying Hawaiian Man.
Speaker 5 (44:41):
You know, and he flew all away over there, never
won when he was a Dodger. That's the case, and
now we don't have a chance. Dave, what do you
think you think we should go back up?
Speaker 2 (44:50):
No, you should say what was what was our guy's name?
Speaker 3 (44:52):
Be the sports radio fred in Maui and checking in
on Fred Shane Victor's Milky.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
Luna's last lost night, lost last night, but Victor Reno
was three for five in the Philly game.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
Let's check the line right now. It is so good.
Mauie Tacos brings you Shane Victor Reno's line. All right.
Speaker 4 (45:16):
You know what, though, we're not gonna talk to Victorino.
Come on, Sean, Yeah, he's coming over, get over, joining
us right now.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
And she's here with his family. He's got his beautiful
daughter here.
Speaker 4 (45:28):
A guy that knows everything about Canada and the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
I heard him on SAX and Kate's in the Am
the other day.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
The one and only Sean Green, our hero really feeling
it here at Dodgers Stadium's got the family here, got
the Blue Jays, got the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
Man. You gotta be freaking out, Sean.
Speaker 10 (45:45):
No, I'm loving this this is this is for me.
It's it's the ultimate. I love both cities. I spent
eight years in the Bluejes organization at five in l A.
And you know, two great fan bases, different fan bases,
but both awesome, and uh, you know it's for me.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
It's a win win, nuts and bolts talk here, Sean.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
The shadows walk us through as someone who's an accomplished
hit or what the shadows do? What the worst timing is,
like where that shadow is and why it helps out
the pitchers.
Speaker 8 (46:09):
Yeah, the shadows suck so that they're horrible.
Speaker 10 (46:12):
No, it's like right now would actually be the worst
time when it's you know, really when Stu. Maybe like
in another ten to fifteen minutes when it's really dark
and home plate and bright behind it. But I would
imagine the first couple of innings will be tough. It's
hard to say this. I never played in late October unfortunately, right, so, yeah,
it changes so much. But usually those five o'clock starts
were really bad in you know, August September.
Speaker 2 (46:34):
But like, what does just do? What makes it hard?
Speaker 8 (46:37):
It's just you just can't pick up the spin on
the ball.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
I mean, not that you can see.
Speaker 10 (46:41):
You know, I'm not like Ted Williams or I said,
I can see the seams and count them and all that.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
But it's just hard to identify the pitches.
Speaker 10 (46:47):
So guys who have you know, especially like a you know,
like a Sisaki if he was starting the game with
that fastball split, it's really hard. With very similar release points,
they'd be hard to pick those two up.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
For you.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
I heard John the Sacks and Kate Show, and you
talked about what you thought the series was gonna be,
like hasn't played out kind of the way you thought
they have. The games band like you thought they would be,
or as exciting as you thought they would be.
Speaker 10 (47:12):
Yeah, I mean the first game, I didn't expect such
an eruption of runs by the Blue.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
Jays, but you know that showed me something.
Speaker 10 (47:18):
I mean, if I'm you know, if I'm on the
Dodgers right now, I'm definitely thinking we got our hands
full here because that lineup is different than any lineup
they've played all year, and they they're really it's kind
of reminiscent of like a mid nineties lineup those teams
like Seattle and Cleveland and they just one through nine.
They're gonna they're tough outs and they're they're gonna battle
(47:39):
you and put them all in play. And I think
the key for the Dodgers is the same way they
won last year. You can say what you want about
their offense. They're pitching, but they didn't the other They
let the other teams make mistakes a lose. The Mets
walk nine guys or eight guys a game against them
in the NLCS last year, the Yankees were dropping balls,
not covering bases that cost them the series the Phillies
(48:00):
and had that big mix up to end the series.
Speaker 8 (48:03):
So the Dodgers don't make those mistakes, and that's why
in this time.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
Of year they come up on top. What about the bats?
Speaker 3 (48:09):
And I know Max had a nice outing, sures Or
had a nice out and against the Mariners, but prior
to that seemed like it was a little bit shaky,
kind of that way all year.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
What do they need to do?
Speaker 3 (48:17):
Like what is it years, especially the top of that
order and maybe what they're going through these first two games.
Speaker 10 (48:21):
Yeah, I mean Max is an emotional pitcher, right, so
if you you know he's a guy he kind of
reminds me of the ninety two Blue Jays.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
I was there in ninety three in September.
Speaker 10 (48:30):
I got caught up in spring training ninety two for
those two World Series teams, and Jack Morris was at
the end of his career, but he just kind of
found a way to win.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
He'd win eight to seven, or he'd win one or nothing.
He was just kind of a winner.
Speaker 10 (48:42):
And now he's in the Hall of Fame, and I
feel like that's where Sureser is right now.
Speaker 8 (48:46):
He just wants to compete.
Speaker 10 (48:48):
So you got to try to get to him, get
him rattled, and get him more emotional, and knock him
out of the game. That's that's kind of the key,
because if you keep them in there, he's gonna find
ways to sneak out of innings and and keep the
team in contention to.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Win a game. Is it true?
Speaker 4 (49:04):
Right before Noble throws out the first pitch, You're could
have a foot race with Caros.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
Pull the pole.
Speaker 10 (49:09):
I'm going out a foot rest yell versus Carrol.
Speaker 8 (49:12):
I mean, come on, I think I could beat Caro's
when he played right now?
Speaker 2 (49:20):
Right, you look great, Sean? What's in the secret?
Speaker 1 (49:22):
Man?
Speaker 2 (49:22):
You do look great? Is it that Tustin high Taylor pride.
What must be I don't know.
Speaker 10 (49:26):
I get migraines, so I have to be really careful
with what I eat and stuff and can't really drink
or do anything.
Speaker 8 (49:31):
So I think the migraines are forced a clean.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Lifestyle for me.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Wow, it's working real quick on Jack Morris. For those
of a certain age, just remember what a talk about
a freaking warrior. It was his arm made of rubber. Like,
how do you explain the guy throwing whatever one hundred
and fifty pitches and then going back out there three
days later?
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Like what was it like to be around him?
Speaker 1 (49:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (49:51):
No, I think it was just a different it was
a different mindset, you know, the organizations. It was almost
the opposite of what is today. It's like if you
don't go eight or nine innings in, it is about outing.
But I think they also didn't go one hundred on
every pitch, so it was more Okay, I'm in the seventh,
eight to nine part of the lineup, I'm gonna you know,
I'm gonna like throw it trying to get a quick out,
so drow it down the middle or just you know,
(50:13):
just off the off the corners. And now it's like
one hundred miles an hour every pitch, So I think
there's that, but also I think it's a mindset. It's
like he had the ball and you're kind of like
sures are. That's another reason staying to remind me of
get off, get out of here.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
I'm not coming out of the game, and that was
the mindset. You're the best. Thanks for coming over and
being a prince. Thanks, guys. Have the great Sean Green
Ladies and gentleman. A man torn.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
He's got the half and half jersey like when the
parents kids are playing on two different footballs. Yeah, you
see it, flous divided, the one and only Sean Green,
Ladies and Gentlemen. A great person and a great analyst
when it comes to Dodger and Toronto baseball. We're happy
to have him on. It's the Petrosen Money Show. Headed
(50:56):
back upstairs for our final hour and then we'll get
to Moroco because you know, Dodgers on deck featuring the
one and only Tim Kats. David Vassi has got Blake
Snell on that one m
