girls could not resist the stair.Bob Low Pocassa that we got called an
asshole you like Jonathan, Story ofmy Life? He was only five foot

with three bus stare. Low Potassathat we got called a us out of
New York. In New York, where'd you discover this little ditty? That's
Jonathan H. Richmond, the guyfrom from this band is called the Modern

(01:37):
Lovers, but he's the you knowthe guy in the tree and something about
Mary. Oh yeah, yeah,it's Jonathan Richmond. It's a great musician.
It's kind of a velvet underground enthusiasts. So this is it's good.
All right, let's talk to jall right, joining us right now,
the Mercenary, the pride of theLBC pound for pound, one of the
best MMA fighters in the world.Champion at the featherweight level, prove waitning

(02:04):
the one million dollars Grand Prix TournamentFeatherweight Championship last year, beating Patricio Pitbull
and a submission. Suffered his firstprofessional loss this past April and a rematch
with Pitbull. But now A J. McKee is moving up to lightweight for
the first time in his career andfacing Spike Carlyle this Saturday in Belatore two

(02:25):
eighty six and the Long Beach Arena. That's a carn question. Yeah no,
it's not. Tickets available at ticketmasterdot com Live from the LBC.
It is AJ McKee right now onthe Petros and Money Show. What's crack
at AJ? How are you?How you doing? We're doing all right?

(02:46):
Uh, tell us a little bitabout the fight coming up and uh,
the loss, you know, toPitbull and kind of bouncing back from
that well, you know, faster, stronger, bigger, better as my
model, you know, just comingback and hopefully we get a trilogy soon.
Man, this dude, but weneed to know, we need to
know by the time he leaves California, especially in the city, man,

(03:08):
and the people are going to getwhat they want or not, you know
what I mean. I want thetrilogy, the people, the fans want
the trilogy, and I got anotherstatement to make, so hopefully we can
we can get it going. Butyeah, man, just moving up,
moving on bigger, better things. If not, and I think if I
don't get the trilogy, then thebest speaks for itself. I think you

(03:28):
speak the truth and that's what thepeople want. Fighting in Long Beach has
got to be special. You foughtin La before, among many other places,
but specifically in Long Beach co headliningBellatore two eighty six. That has
to be pretty cool for you.Definitely. I said, it's phenomenally you
know, I got to win myworld title and the Red Wall of the

(03:50):
form in Englewood, so it's justthe attack of the moment. So actually
having everybody come to the city andbe there for me president in my home
Tom. It's gonna be a thingthat I honestly can't you. It might
be include was too actually fighting forthe world world tidings. So it's gonna
be fun. It's gonna be agreat show, and I can't wait to

(04:11):
go put on a great show forall my friends and family in the city.
A. J. McKee is ourguest fighting at one hundred and fifty
five pounds. You know you don'thave to cut as much weight. How
big of a change is fighting ata bit of a heavier weight for you
right now? I wouldn't say asmuch of a change is except I just
don't have to starve myself anymore. So I'm just like I said, man,

(04:33):
faster, stronger, bigger, better. That's that's the whole model for
this, this whole new next chapterin this new journey. Now you eighteen
and one right now and pretty closeto a big payday from Bellator or UFC.
You know what is your goal asfar as you know the next few
years and how you continue to growwithin the sport. Well, I already

(04:57):
know I'm the best one hundred andforty five pounder in the world. Let
alone. I feel pound for pound, I'm one of the best fighters in
the world. So it's just amatter of just going out there doing what
I do. And I'm not quitesure where, where or what shall happen.
But you know, for me,this is my family's legacy. We're
generation after generation. I got asixteen year old brother fighting. I got

(05:20):
five year old brothers that's gonna fight. So for me, it's just it's
making sure that fighting is a choicefor them, you know, to follow
their heart, their passion, andyou know, secure the bag, you
know, so when it's their time, they have nothing to worry about,
nothing to fear, and they're notfighting for any other reason besides to love
and fighting. You've talked about maybea crossover fight with Anthony Pettis, who's

(05:42):
in the PFL, the Professional FightersLeague. Where does that kind of stuff
stand and how do you like watchingthose kind of fights? Are thinking about
being involved in those kind of fights? A crossover stuff? Man? For
me, I'm all about it,especially just being able to test yourself with
other people and other organizations. Ilove the crossovers. If the crossovers there,
you know, sign me up.If anybody's willing to do it.

(06:04):
I'm more than willing to do it. So yeah, let's do it.
That's that's the key, man.I think it's a fight people want to
see, you know, because everyoneknows who's on who's roster. So being
able to implement different people with differentskill sets from different organizations, you know,
it gives it gives them just kindof a look to be able to

(06:25):
kind of gauge where some people's skillsets are. And it really shows at
the end of the day that thepower isn't really in the organizations. It's
the fighters. You know, everyfighter, every organization has some of the
best fighters in the world. Tellus a little bit about Spike Carlisle,
your opponent on Saturday. You know, he's touched the UFC, he's touched

(06:46):
He's touched a lot of bases.I've watched him for years. We're both
camo athletes. I'm coming up asamateurs, so I've noticed him for a
while, always kept kind of aclose eye on him, but we never
crossed the paths. So now it'stime for us to have a hodown And
yeah, man, I'm just thankfulfor the opportunity. It's one hundred and

(07:08):
fifty five pounds, so him beinga prior forty five or and him moving
up, he's welcoming me home tothe to the big boy division. Well,
it'll be the Bellatore two eighty six. We're excited about it. Long
Beach Arena tickets available at ticketmaster dotcom. Spike Carlisle taking on the Mercenary,
AJ McKee, and we hope forthat third fight between you and Pitbull

(07:30):
as well. A j good luckon Saturday and have a wonderful day in
Paradise in the beautiful LBC. Iappreciate it. Thanks, peace and blessings.
Have a going Hey, Jay McKee, everybody all right, Jonas,
I told you I wasn't gonna letyou ask a question. Damn it,
I didn't. That's kind of bullythat I am. We're gonna have a
great show today, but you knowwhat, you think you're gonna get a

(07:51):
question in to fucking Tom to let'sgo our day? Fuck? No?
You like that? None? Yeah,
