Speaker 1 (00:00):

at three o'clock this afternoon. Later this hour, we'll take
your calls Dodger fans, let your weigh in on how
you feel, what you expect at eight six six nine
eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight

(00:23):
seven two five seventy. But now from Sports net LA,
we welcome our friend Jerry Harriston Junior, Jerry, how are
you today?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
You guys are well on?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Man? All good?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Oh? All good? Really good? You got me?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah, I got you, I got got you?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Can you hear us?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Here you guys perfectly?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Uh yeah, I saw you on MLB network.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
Man.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
And everybody wants to talk about the Dodgers. We talked
about this earlier. Now now all the other owners starting
to complain Dodgers spend too much money and then they
need this salary cap and all that kind of stuff.
It just it blows me away that that's the sentiment.
When the Dodgers are winning, everybody says that that they
got more money than everybody else. When they're losing, people

(01:10):
laugh and they see they spend all that money and
they still get I just don't get it, Jerry. It's
it is sports. If you got it, spend it. If
you don't have it, you shouldn't own a team. Where
do you land when people say that about the.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Dodgers, Well, listen, let them drink all that hater aide
they want. I mean, they can go and hate. You know.
I remember as a player when I first came up
with Baltimore. The players weren't like this at all. But
you know, there were some fan bases that were upset
with the Yankees, you know, spending all that money. The
reason why the Yankees won they three peede it in
the late nineties and in two thousand was because that

(01:45):
a great foundation of pharmacists, and then they added pieces.
Then they continue to spend in the two thousands and
then win anything.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I remember the Diamondbacks winning in two thousand and one.
I remember the Angels winning in O two. The floridam
beat the Yankees three. So listen, let them continue to
talk about this. Is it a possibility that the players
will get locked out after the twenty sixth season in
the offseason, Yeah, I think it's a strong possibility. Will

(02:16):
they negotiate, Yeah, I'm will probably negotiate sometime right before
spring training. You may miss some spring training that might happen,
But make them mistake about it. There's gonna be baseball
in twenty seven. The one thing I will say this,
in the history of this game, you know and players
know this. The owners will always try to see if
they could break the players. The players got so much information.

(02:39):
I'm on the board of the MLB Players Alumni Association.
We work a little bit with the player Association. I
have friends on the board of the player Association. They
have so much information. The game has never been more
popular in the history of the sport. The game has
never been more popular in this today. Look at the
TV ratings right now, they are going through the roof

(03:00):
for the Mariners, the Blue Jays, the Brewers, the Cubs,
so many teams. So baseball has never been more healthier,
is an absolute fact. So let the other fan bases.
You can have a couple owners say what they want
to say at the end of the day. This is
gonna be over a twelve probably thirteen billion dollar industry

(03:23):
heading into the twenty six twenty seven season. They're not
gonna want to mess with that. I'm telling you, they're
not gonna gonna mess with that. They're gonna try to
break the players. The players are gonna break. I'm telling
this right now, They're not gonna break. So they're gonna
try that ain't happening.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
So Jerry Blake Harris tweeted this out and I found
it fascinating. I saw it during the break he talked
about twenty twenty four revenue and twenty twenty five payroll
plus tax. Miami will make three hundred and seventeen million dollars,
all right, their payrolls eighty six million, three hundred and
seventeen million, Dot eighty six million, White Sox two hundred
and seventy seven million, that's what they made, payroll eighty

(04:00):
seven million. If you just look at that, Dodgers revenue
seven hundred and fifty two million, payroll plus tax five
hundred and forty nine million, So you can see who's
investing in their team and who's not investing in their team.
But anybody that cries poverty. If you're making two hundred
three hundred million dollars, I gotta tell you you're not at

(04:21):
the poverty level.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Jerry, Yeah, that's a great point. Blake Harris sayes a
great job, and I'm so glad he tweeted it out.
You know who also has the information all that information
more is the players. You guys got to remember, yea,
they have a sort of salary cap now in place.
It's called the luxury tax. Okay, and the players have
been watching for years. When the teams like the Marlins

(04:46):
or a couple other teams that get luxury tax money,
do they invest in their teams? Have they? And Fred
you've just said it, they have it. They have not
reinvested in their in the in the payroll.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Players know this.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Is readily made available. So once again, you know, for
all the teams that spend money, yes, you could spend money,
doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna win. The Mets spend a
bowload of money, they didn't make the playoffs. The Cincinnati Reds,
do they spend a lot of money in their players?
Not really, They're probably the middle of the pack. They
made the playoffs, so it really it's all about looking
for the Dodgers. Do they spend money, yes, but how

(05:22):
about take a deep dive on the Dodgers. They make
sure they have a great farm system. They make sure
they have a great scouting department. They make sure they
develop players, so when you need to make a trade,
they'll trade some of their players. Or they're reinvest in
will Smith. Obviously they're reinvested in Clayton Kershaw for years,

(05:44):
so they make great decision. Here's another point too. They
make sure that their money counts. Okay. They make sure
they get the right people in place that could thrive
in the postseason, like a blank Snow, like a Yamamoto.
Other teams spend boatloads of money and sometimes do players
don't really pan out. You know, there's a couple of
players on the Angels right now that haven't panned out, right,

(06:06):
some of them don't even play in the regular season.
You know what I'm saying. So that Dodgers do a
great job. But yes, we spend money, but we're gonna
make sure our money's gonna count. Don't salt the Dodgers
for doing that. They do their homework.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
No, absolutely, absolutely, all right, Jerry, let's get into this
series with the Brewers Dodgers fake take the first two
at home. Really, you know, as you know as a
player man, when you lose both those games at home
and you're so fired up, you got the best record
in baseball, your fan base is all fired up, big
bad Dodgers coming to town, and then you drop two
that just from a it's an involuntary psyche that goes

(06:44):
into your system, going, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Now we're in a hole.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
We got to go to LA and play this juggernaut
of a team. What do you make of them not
announcing the starter yet? And is that gamesmanship or is
it just they really don't don't know who to throw
at the Dodges right now.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
No, it's games gamesmanship. They're gonna throw out the Mints.
He's gonna eat up the bulk of the innings tonight.
You know, they have probably in mind who they're gonna throw,
probably a left hander to start the game and opener.
But then Mines will get you know, the lion's share
of the innings tonight. I will say this if I'm
that mistake, and you guys can fact check me on this,
I think the Brewers had the best road rerecord in

(07:26):
the nationally maybe all of baseball. They're the best road record.
So as you said that, Roddy, yes, it is demoralizing
to drop not just one of the really two games
at home in front of your home fan base, but
they can come in and write it. You know this,
Sometimes when you have a I got nothing to lose mentality,
you play looser and sometimes you play better. So I

(07:48):
want to make sure we proceed with caution and understand.
The Brewers are a really good team. They have the
number one record, uh for a reason.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Right, yeah, for a reason.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
They're very talented, and they've had a great road record
as well. So maybe you know, we just saw it
last night where the Toronto Blue Jays did to Seattle.
That's a tough place to play. They going to Seattle
and boat racing, you know what I'm saying. So Dodger
just got to make sure you got to play great baseball, understand, pitchwell,
defend well, do not give that team extra outs, and

(08:19):
obviously hit we're runners and cormerces. You knew that you're
going to put yourself in position to win this ball game.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
By the way, you're one hundred percent right. They not
only had the best road record in the National League,
they had the best record in baseball on the road.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
So you were right, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, yeah, sure.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Okay, So I can't remember because you're not you know,
you played a few years back, but you didn't play
like in the nineteen forties. So when you when you
were playing, did they let guys finish games? Because I
liked that Yamamoto finished. I think Snell should have finished
the first one. And I've got to believe that Doc
is going to anybody a shot to finish that he
thinks can finish. Now, yes, this happened in the past,

(08:58):
it's unusual for today when you were playing, did that
happen they let guys finish?

Speaker 7 (09:04):
They did?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
You know, I know it's been so long ago, I
get it. But I was actually teammates with Clayton Kershaw
who's still playing. And Kersh would like to finish games.
Kirsh you know, I played with him when he was
in his prime. He hated coming out. I mean, he'd
want to fight you, so he would finish games because
that's what he wanted to do. I played with guys
like Josh Beckett. He wanted to finish games.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
C c.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Shabathia as well. I think because of analytics the last
several years, they've kind of taken over and didn't allow
these guys to finish games or come on the sixth
or seventh inning, to rely on the bullpen. But here's
what I do like, and that is a great point
now that is starting hopefully become a trend for us

(09:48):
because it makes and forces these pitchers to pitch. In
order for me to finish a game or at least
go deep in the game, I've got to use all
my pitches. I got to use more movement and spotting
pictures as opposed to were lying on velocity. A lot
of these young guys go out there and say, I'm
gonna throw a hundred miles an hour and throw it
in the middle of the plate and then see if

(10:08):
they can hit it. Sometimes you can knock the round.
I don't know the guy throw a hundred miles an
hour straight down the middle than a guy who's sinking
it and cutting it and hitting their spots like a
Greg Maddox or Royality back in the day. Hell, they
can throw a hundred miles an hour back and then
if you wanted to, but you were like more a
movement and said, I'll throw ninety three to ninety five
and move it and cut it, so get away from
the barrels. So I hope that is the trend, and

(10:30):
I hope that is chic moving forward, having these guys
go deep in ball games.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Jerry Otani's struggles right talk and we talked about it
earlier with Ned Coletti about do you move him down
in the lineup? Do you move move Mooki to the
leadoff spot, put him in second, take some pressure off
him being the leadoff guy. And Ned was of the

(10:59):
opinion that even if he's not hitting, the intimidation factor
of him being in the leadoff spot, you still got
a pitch to He can go zero for thirty, but
he can erupt at any time. First of all, do
you attribute him thinking about pitching to any of his
hitting woes? And secondly, do you even mess with the

(11:20):
lineup now that the given the Dodgers are up two
oh on Milwaukee right now in this series.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah, First of all, Net Colletti, I'm surprised he's not
a GM anywhere brilliant baseball mind, especially with a lot
of teams that are struggling and looking to build a foundation.
He should have a job somewhere. I'm in agreement with
net COLLETTI. You know, you leave the lineup along because
we're still winning. You know, when you're winning, you don't
want to disrupt it. And he is exactly right. His

(11:48):
threat is still there. They're still walking him intentionally, which
really is the move because he couldn't erupt at any time.
And I think when you walk intentionally walk him, you
got Mookie Betts who's been on fire in the so
I like that they allow him to continue in the
lead off spot. We're still winning ball games now with Shoeytiny.
You know, they made it a big issue of him

(12:09):
facing left handed pitching, which that was a problem, especially
last series. But he's still pulling off his front shoulder.
He's pulling off the ball against righty's so he's got
to keep that front shoulder closed as long as possible,
and hopefully he does that. When he does that and
it's hitting line drives in the left center field gap
and going the other way with power, that's when you

(12:31):
know he's where he needs to be. So if I'm him,
I would not even look for something in inner half
of the plate because they're going inside off the plate
on him, and he's swinging on that pitch. I wouldn't
even look inside. I would look to go the other way,
and if they make a mistake out or third, I'm
going to hit a bullet off the left center field wall.
That would be my approach if I'm Shoyotmey Joey.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
He actually took VP yesterday. That seemed to have been unusual.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
What do you think about that that he's doing that
because he rarely takes VP on the field. He doesn't
like doing that. But you know the reason why I
think he's doing that is to see ball flights. And
I've always liked taking batting practice on the field, and
I just talked to so many great players like Derek
Jeter back in the day when we play together Ken
Grisey Junior. Yes, you get you work in the cage,

(13:18):
but sometimes the cads can be deceiving. You want to
be able to see ball flight, see how your ball's
coming off the bat in the stadium, and that was
something that he needed to see and hopefully that helped
him out yesterday. Maybe he does it again today, but
you know, getting him ready for tonight's ball game.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah, I think you're right.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
You know, sometimes it does certain things to you mentally
when you see the ball go out of the stadium
or you see it bang off the wall as opposed
to the cage hitting the net just psyche. It feels different.
And I'm glad that he is willing to deviate from
the routine and come out and understand, Hey, you know

(13:59):
things aren't going the way I wanted to go, So
let me change something up a little bit and and
make this happen. Jerry, do you as this game gets
ready to start at three oh eight and we hate
you know, Fred's adamant about hating the three oh eight start.
As a player, do you first of all, do you
like the three eight start? Do you hate the threeh

(14:21):
eight start? And secondly, is this this game for Milwaukee?
It's got to be. I mean we said in the
game too, is a must win, but not only for Milwaukee,
but I think for the rest of the league that
if the Dodgers win this game, they sweep Milwaukee and

(14:42):
it's it's lights out for the Mariners or Toronto whoever
they play.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Well, you're right, it is, I think a must win
for Milwaukee. You certainly don't want to get down three
games to none. But to ask your first question, three
o'clock game, I don't like.

Speaker 7 (14:56):
It at all.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
It's really tough on the hitters. The shadow are a nightmare.
So I feel for the hitters, both Milwaukee and obviously
the Dodgers. So the advantage us to go to the pitchers.
The reason why it's the three o'clock game is for TV.
They make so much money making sure they air the
three o'clock game for the NLCS and obviously the later
game ALCS and they flip it. So it's all about

(15:20):
TV and making money. So I get the revenue part.
But as far as playing these games, man, you got
a scratching claw to play. Man, go up there with
a two strikeer approaches. If you see anything in the zone,
try to barrel it up. But you're right, the three
o'clock game here in LA, that is so tough, man,
especially with hard working people of LA. Everybody talked about
lab and Hollywood. There's so many hardworking people here that

(15:41):
they'll get talked about, and they have jobs. It's hard
to get to the to the stadium, you know, so
they'll screen shot the first inning. Man, people are trying
hard to get through the stadium. So I feel for
all our fans it is what it is right now,
and hopefully once we get to the World Series, if
we make it, If and when we make it, all
those start times are going to be great start times.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Yeah, you know, I find it funny because the Philly
fans did that when the Phillies were out here. They
took that first inning screenshot and said, well, nobody cares here,
and it was so misleading. And then I thought, well,
that's what you got to have. You're gonna hang your
hat on that. You're gonna hang your hat on that
you get eliminated, but nobody cares in LA. That was
so incredibly misleading and unfair because people around the country

(16:24):
don't really understand what it takes to get to Dodger
Stadium at any time, especially at three o'clock in the afternoon.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
One hundred percent. Guys, I've played everywhere. I played for
ninety different teams. I've played in Chicago, New York, LA, Texas,
everywhere DC. The traffic is so difficult here in LA.
You're right, Fred Rodney, You guys are exactly right at anytime,
let alone that time trying to get to Dodger Stadium
at three, but our fans are second to now. We
packed the place every single year, every single game, and

(16:57):
just I'm so happy our fans still make it out
for those three o'clock game and make sure they they're
allowed for their Dodger players.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Jerry, what do you what do you real quick? I know,
I know, you know. We'll keep me.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Appreciate you taking the time with us. Just the way
this season has gone. Because before the season, people were
the Dodgers are going to go one hundred and sixty
two and zero. They they just got the formula, they
got the players, they signed guys in the off season,
the staff is incredible, and then they hit a lull

(17:29):
and guys were injured and they had to deal with
the injury bug throughout the summer, and people were questioning
whether or not the Dodgers could even win the division
at that point, as the padre started to soar and
right right on their heels. And now you look up
and then you go, this is the vision of Andrew Friedman,
and why he went out and did what he did

(17:51):
in the in the off season is for October. And
now you see a fully healthy pitching staff with a
team that is loaded. I mean, think about it. You
can throw out Snell, Yamamoto. Now Glass now goes, and
by the way Otani goes in Game four. I mean,

(18:11):
it is what they envisioned and now it's coming to fruition.
How impressive is this for the Dodgers organization to be
in this position because there were points in the season
where a lot of people were doubting whether this team
can ever get to this point.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Right now, I love sports so much, and you're right,
the ebbs and flows of the season. Last offseason, we
did sign Blake Snell, obviously made some moves to strengthen
our team. Dodgers are ruining baseball, ruining baseball right then,
you're right about a month ago. It was a month
ago mid September. Guys, I was getting texts from guys

(18:49):
in baseball circles. I mean, guys that know this game.
You guys are done. You guys have no bullpen.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
It's over.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
I don't know if you guys are gonna get past
a wildcard run let alone the NLS. Yes, Padres are
going to are the chief to be and then if not,
it's gonna be to Phillis. You guys are done, and
I mean a lot of different people. And then all
of a sudden, a couple of weeks ago, by Dodgers
are ruining baseball a game like we were left for dead.

(19:15):
And listen, our bullpen wasn't that great obviously in mid September,
late September. Really, so everybody who's taking shouts out of
we're done, you guys are overpaid, you guys are done,
you guys are chokers. And then now, no matter weeks,
not months, weeks, Dodgors are ruining the sport. Implement the
salary cap right now, so listen. I love the fact

(19:36):
that this season had a lot of ebbs and flows.
I love the fact that our front office made sure,
no matter what the ems and flows are, we get
healthy and make sure we have guys that know how
to play in the postseason. T car Nandez right obviously
resigning Max Munsey. He's a guy who's been a pro
postseason performer. Blake Snell is a big game pitcher, so

(19:58):
we make sure we have character guys that can excel
in the postseason. I love the fact that they make
sure they keep your adds a day one in the postseason.
He was a starter no longer off the bench. He's
gonna play every day because they recognize they just don't
look at analytics. I mean, analytics is information, but they
make sure we need more. We got to make sure
we have gamers as well. Tommy Edmond's another one. So

(20:21):
credit the Dodgers man having the foresight understanding, Hey, we're
just not gonna just throw money at anybody. We're gonna
make sure we get the right guys in place to
have a constructed roster that compliments the stars, like a
Tommy ed mc keek, your hands and Max Munsey. So
it's really cool to see the last couple of weeks
these guys come together as a team.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
All right, Jerry, thanks man, We really appreciate you jumping
on love when you join the show anytime.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Right therese our buddy, Jerry Harriston Jr. So he's here
into two around baseball. That's great, that's good. Yeah, yeah, right.
These guys are dead as a matter of fact. They
spend all this money and look at what happened to them.
You can't buy a title.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
And they're laughing under their breath right as they're saying that,
they're laughing.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Oh, Dodgers a flash forward one month, because they spend
all the money. That's the only reason they're gonna win.
You can't, you can't do that. Good on Blake. That
tweet Blake Harrison out was so telling, so telling. The
Marlins make three hundred and seventeen million dollars, they spend
eighty two million dollars on their payroll. The Dodgers spend

(21:26):
seventy six percent of the money they make on their payroll,
seventy six percent. Think about that, the Mets spent ninety
percent of what they made on their payroll. If you
just think of that for a minute, just think of that.
They were to win it, they might not win. Toronto
spends seventy one percent of their profit on their payroll,

(21:49):
Philly sixty seven percent, sixty six percent for the Diamondbacks,
sixty three percent for the pod Rains, And it goes down.
Then you get down to the Marlins twenty seven percent,
twenty thirty one percent for the White Sox, thirty three
percent for Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh thirty four percent. Pittsburgh made

(22:11):
three hundred and twenty six million dollars, three hundred and
twenty six million.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
And everybody thinks that they're losing so much money and
there's so much in right in the red, and they
spend what less than one hundred on their payroll.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Cubs, we're just trying to break even. The Cubs, they
made five hundred and eighty four million dollars. They spend
two hundred and thirteen million on their payroll. Thirty six
point four percent. We're trying to break even. Yeah, that's all.
Dodgers seventy three percent, Mets ninety percent. Those are teams
that want to win. Yeah, those are teams that don't

(22:47):
want to get lucky. You always need luck to win,
but they don't want to rely on luck. They're going
to do everything they can to give themselves good luck. Well,
these other teams aren't there. It is. That's it. Yeah,
pretty cut and dried. You can't screw that up because
those are the numbers. So when these teams can plain

(23:09):
around baseball, well, we just can't compete. How about this?
You don't want to compete? Should we say that you
just don't want to compete, You just don't care enough.
That's the story on this. Okay, let's hop in the

(23:29):
phone lines eight six six nine eighty seven two five
seventy Dodger fans. It's a grab bag. You can weigh
in your thoughts as we get ready for Game three tonight,
your thoughts on what other people in baseball are saying.
All of that. Weigh in eight six, six, nine eighty
seven two five seventy.

Speaker 7 (23:45):
Make am five seventy. LA Sports a preset before you
plug in your phone. Presets in the iHeartRadio app now
available with Apple car Play and Android Auto. Just another
easy way to listen to LA's best sports talk.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Come on on a throwback Thursday, finishing up the morning,
Roddy Pete, fred Rogan, it's out, Freddy, it is out.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah, we got has got word go ahead. So the
man that it will start for the Brewers tonight is
Aaron Ashby. And you go, oh, that's interesting, Well you
should know me. Like pitches in every game. Aaron Ashby
pitches basically in every game, So he's going to be
the guy to start tonight. He'll go a short period

(24:34):
of time and then they'll go with a big, heart
throwing right hander. So that's who it's going to be.
I believe he started game one. He did research, he
did yeah, so he started game one. So Let's see
how the Dodgers will line up against him. O'tani will
lead off, Bets, Will Smith, Freddie, Edmund, Tayo Kika has

(25:04):
Klass now.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Will pitch there you go, mm hmmm. So that's how
they goes up to the third hitting third, now, okay,
mm hmm. And Edmund moved up too, Yeah, yeah, because
they had they had they had put Tail in that
third spot for most of the playoffs. And uh now

(25:25):
Will and Edmund move ahead of him. So interesting. But yeah,
you know, Aspy, he must be the guy they trust
the most. Fred to trot him out there. We'll see
how long he goes. But uh, I don't think he
goes long. I don't think he goes more than one
through the lineup, do you.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Ask me? Yeah, no, No, he'll He'll go basically just
enough to give him a chance. Miss Rosky's going to
be there, Yeah, guy to bring him in.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yeah, as Jerry said, he'll go the bulk of the
innings and if he's going well, they'll try to try
to get him some length and try to get him
to eat up some innings in the middle part of
that game.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Yeah, do you think Ashby goes more than two innings. No,
I don't either. No, I don't think he goes more
than two. The Miseroski comes in and then you look,
he can throw. I mean, he really can throw. The
Dodgers had trouble with him earlier in the yearn he's
when he's on, he's unhittable. I mean when he's he's
he's one of those handful of guys in the league
that is electric and unhittable when everything is going good

(26:34):
for him. And uh, if they can get three to
five innings out of him, they would they would absolutely
love it and game be close. I think that's what
they're hoping for, that Ashby can keep it close for
those first couple of innings and then they throw him
somebody different in miss Rosky, and he's able to go
three to five innings and they feel like, if the

(26:55):
game is close, we can win it in the end. So,
you know, I get the strategy that they're doing. They're
trying to you know, I don't want to say they're
grabbing that straws, but they're they're trying to get the
guy that has been dominant that they've yet to be
able to use in this series into the game in
a meaningful moment. Yeah, here's the problem though, the way

(27:17):
these games have been going Philly series as well. If
the Dodgers stay close, you know, if they're in the game.
It's kind of the way it was outlined last year
to us by Net COLLETTI. We just got to be
in the game in the sixth seventh inning, then we'll
get to your guys. If it's close and we're in
the game, then we'll get to your guys. That's exactly

(27:41):
the way the Dodgers look at it, and that's the
way this is played up by the way. Keep it close.
Maybe we grab a lead, even if we fall behind,
it's close, we'll get to you. We're not concerned. We'll
get to you. So all right, Dodger fans a tix
six nine, eight, seven s. As we approach game three
to night, you know, and R and he pointed this
out earlier. This is pivotal, This is it first. The

(28:04):
Dodgers are gonna win the series anyway. I don't anticipate
what happened last night in Seattle where the Blue Jays
erupted and extracted their revenge for the first two games.
I don't think that's gonna happen. Milwaukee's not gonna score
twelve runs. So but this is critical because if Milwaukee loses,
the series are gonna end here at Dodger Stadium. Oh yeah,

(28:28):
that will be over. The Dodgers will have two to
win one to wrap it up and could be a sweep.
So for the Brewers, this is it, this is this
is d Day. If they can't win tonight, they're done.
They're probably done anyway, but they're really done after tonight.
So how do you think about it?

Speaker 3 (28:46):
The Dodgers win tonight, it's a sweet I don't think
they win one now if they you know, they get tonight,
I still think the Dodgers win two out of three here.
But tonight for Milwaukee, they don't win tonight, they're getting swept.
There a dusty They're not beating o Tani tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Okay, well, if that's the case, look just like the Reds,
you got to walk around the stadium. You got to
take off your shoes, you got to be grounded, right,
you got to feel what the grass was like. Maybe
I don't know if it'll be sunny enough, but if
it is, a couple of you guys, take off your shirts,
lay down, like the Reds did, get a tan, Try
get a little sun before the game. Enjoy your stay

(29:25):
in LA, because if they get beat tonight, that's about
the only thing they're going to carry out of the series. Yeah,
you know, maybe last night they went to a good restaurant,
which is nice. Yeah, yeah, it's always nice. Yeah, you know,
great restaurants in LA. Maybe they did that. But if

(29:45):
they lose tonight, it's done. Okay, So Dodger fans, you
want to weigh in. I know two Dodger fans want
to weigh in two And even if we had one hundred,
we would pick these two because perhaps they, more than anyone,
can offer concise views on the Dodgers, the series and

(30:07):
how the rest of the way will go. So let's
start with Mitch. Good morning, Mitch.

Speaker 8 (30:17):
Corffident. Guys, how we going fight on? Rodney?

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Hey, fight on, Mitch. That's a baby, Yill.

Speaker 8 (30:23):
Let them hang out to Saturday? Will your CEO win?
Dodge went on clothes down on on Saturday? But of
a highlight and that's wake up, you know, really wake
up like Tono last night. Then then they're done in
four and you say that they should make tcent like
sixty percent of their profits. We have a great work

(30:46):
on their farms. Is like we do right to Illinois
that we trace so many our prospects are playing for
other teams. I like the home prospects team them some
of my cool push.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
We can't even understand him. I don't know where he's
calling from. I don't know what he's doing. But like
I said, clear and concise, that's what you get from
Mitch Oh, spot on crystal clarity. When he speaks, it
makes an impact. But perhaps no one makes more of
an impact, No one, No Dodger fan. And we appreciate

(31:20):
everybody listening to the station, and so many of you do,
and our heart goes out to you. Thank you. It
means everything to us. But if you want the definitive
fan to talk about what's going to happen, there was
only one person to turn to. Mitch was one of them.
He had a problem today. But this one is going

(31:43):
to be spot on, crystal clear and easy to understand.
So let's bring on. Isabelle. Isabelle, how are you, hey, Oh.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Plan, how are you guys?

Speaker 1 (31:56):
We're good, Isabelle.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
Leat I do think they were wing tonight, but I
do I think I agree with you, but they don't
have to worry about this thing that they were the
best team in the league this year, and I kind
of stunts like I will when they when the dogs.
They weren't both serious, but hey, I'm happy. I'll take it.

(32:20):
So I did, Guys, I did that, gave one thing out.
Oh everything. You don't want this man the money? Then
why are they complaining to EU as well?

Speaker 1 (32:31):
She's very emotional today. Are you still there?

Speaker 8 (32:37):
Happy?

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Are you happy? Okay?

Speaker 4 (32:39):
All right, yeah, I'm only looking forward. Just let the
dog they have a leaf. Maybe if I weren't the
first men to actually get to predy, then did me
leave when they killed? So anyway, I'll talk to you guys.
Lady go dodges.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Isel See does she ned easy?

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (33:03):
She had tied it all together. She wrapped it like
a bow. Well, apparently we can't quite tie the bow
yet because we may have a few more people that

(33:23):
want away in here before we get off the air,
and we'll.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Do that next.

Speaker 7 (33:26):

Rogan on a throwback Thursday.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah, the Joon Joe boogie shoes for it. All right,
get out of here. We're on early today. Covered up
Colin so Petro some money can jump on at noon.
Let's wrap up with some calls Manning Guardina. Man, well,
how are you go? Ahead?

Speaker 5 (34:15):
Broken it rotten shot. You know it's a throwback Thursday.
If I'm coming in here, baby, tell you what where
you been?

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (34:24):
I work graveyards now. Man, I'm kind of like you though, Freddy,
where are you being? Man? I missed, you know, the
nightly midget tossing and squirrels on water skis, you know,
updates and all of the good you know sports that
we can't get only from you or the oh chow.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
I hear.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
Thank you, man, dude, you you ain't on NBC no more. Now,
Just freaking wild Mario with his crazy hair and his sneakers.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Man, that's the only guy that we get.

Speaker 5 (34:55):
Squirrel, you know, you know Freddy has those abstract sports
and you know what I mean, duck hunting, all that
kind of stuff. Man. But hey, I think I was wrong.
Fred I had said it was gonna be Dodgers in five.

Speaker 8 (35:12):
Man.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
This team is rolling like a juggernaut. We as LA
fans have to really be thankful for freedmen and for
Doc Roberts. Everybody. Man, I guess sick and tired of
hearing it. Bro Like they're always complaining this, that and
the other in July, in freaking August. But now they're

(35:34):
quiet as church mice, as they should be, because this
organization knows how to win. We are staring down the
barrel Freddy of a Yankees run from the nineties, from
the nineteen twenties. We might not be the murderer's role,
but we got a staff from hell. Man, you know

(35:54):
what I mean, this already staff and this bullpen or
no Joe, because that's the other thing, Freddy. The bullpen
was coming up short a little bit because they were overworked.
They've had days off. Now everybody's gonna come back fresh
in the mix. They're gonna get a dose of bond
of Vessia, a dose of Jack Dryer, all of these guys, man,

(36:17):
and you know what, we are poised not only back
to back, now we gotta start thinking about paying pat
Riley right, three, pet Baby, I mean.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Don't put the don't start, don't start, you know, no, no, no,
I know, I know.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
I'm getting greedy. But let's just say like this. I'm
looking at a five spot tonight.

Speaker 8 (36:37):
Again.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
The offense is gonna show up. I think the Brewers
will have something to say. I'm looking at five to
three to night, Freddy, get ready.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
The Brewers will punch back tonight, Freddy. They will go
They're gonna punch back. I'm just going to lay down.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
And they've got a good road record, but they're punching
back against glass now class Now, who is the Dodgers'
third pitcher? Who would be the ace of any other staff? All?

Speaker 9 (37:10):
Right?

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Eric, and Moreno, Valley, what do you think, Eric? You
think this is gonna be over quick?

Speaker 6 (37:15):
Yeah, We're gonna sweep man. We got too much momentum.
Uh fight on uh Ronnie and the sunshine of the desert. Yeah,
and I want to embrace the Hollywood uh, you know narrative.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
We are Hollywood.

Speaker 6 (37:30):
Look at at seventy five today Brewers are coming in.
How is that not going to intimidate them, the whole organization,
just everything that they do, including the fans, and yeah, man,
we gotta we're Hollywood and we got a workman mentality.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Thanks guys, all right, appreciate Eric wrapping up Jose's foothill.
Ran Jose, what do you have to say?

Speaker 9 (37:54):
Yeah, I'm with the previous guy, same thing. I think
we you just wrap it up. Our our line up,
our pitching is just like it's not like last year.
We are completely locked in. We woke up at the
perfect timing. We were struggling towards a very end of
the you know, the season, regular season, and I just
think our bats are offense, everything is just aligning the

(38:17):
perfect way in the perfect timing. I just think, you
know Brewers that, yeah, they're a great team and all,
but just finish them off, you know, don't give them
a chance to punch back. Just finish it off.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
All right, appreciate it, Thanks for calling. That's what I'm
talking so much. But that's it for us. Fun getting
on early today like this tomorrow we'll be back at noon.
One day we're on early, but tomorrow we're back at noon.
Katie's filling in for Ronnie this week. Katie, thank you
terrific work. Kevin, thanks for getting up early and doing this.
Pat Chose Some Money. Are next and Rodney. Talk to

(38:49):
you tomorrow at noon, right,
