Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's go, fred Rogan Rodney Peak AM five
seventy LA Sports, a big three hour program for US
today and coming up at one ed Eric Dickerson joins
the show, Rodney, So we're fired up.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yeah, let's go, Freddy, let's go, let's go. It's set.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
World Series is set, Freddie. We know who we're playing.
You ready, I'm ready. So I was wrong yesterday. I
want to correct it.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
I said, I gave you incorrect dates on the games,
So I want to fix that right now, games one
and two. I was correct on that Friday Saturday in Toronto.
The next games at Dodger Stadium are Monday Tuesday Wednesday.
My bad. I had them Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, their Monday
Tuesday Wednesday at Dodger Stadium and if necessary, back to
(00:46):
Toronto four games six and seven. I think we both
thought the Blue Jays would get there. It was a
little dicey last night. But then, of course the one
guy you didn't want to hit the home run to
put Toronto on the World Series hit it. The one
guy that Dodger fans can't stand, hit the whole run
(01:07):
to put the the Blue Jays into the World Series.
So everybody will have a chance to air it out,
and we're gonna talk in a bit about the worst.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Is he the worst astro? Who's the worst? To me,
it is the worst? And then al Twove, then L
two A, then maybe Bregman. Yeah, oh yeah, because I
think spring Springer left there earlier than everybody else. And
I think Springer wasn't He wasn't as cocky either as
(01:39):
the other. Korea was the most cocky, calling out, you know,
you know, having to fight with Bellinger during that afterwards,
and and then just doubling down on everything two o two,
you know, al Twove with the monitor on his chest,
that whole thing. And then I think Korea, I mean
not Korea, but Bregman, this little arrogant about himself as well.
(02:02):
Springer was the most quiet, and he left us. He
was the first one to leave that team and go to Toronto.
But they're all nobody forgets, so he will get booed
at Dodger Dadium for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, keep this in mind. We'll talk about it in
a bit. Dodger fans, who's the one player that you
hate the most? Could be from the past as well,
but we'll talk about that coming up.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
In a bit.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So last night, Springer hits the home run. Now, my
wife Rachelle was out with some friends watching in a pub.
Shall we say the minute he hits that ball, I'd say.
She told me fifty percent of the people in there
started shouting cheater the minute he hit the ball. Cheater, cheater, cheater.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Oh hes gonna get it.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Oh he deserves to get it, he deserves. Everybody should
band together. They should make him the most uncomfortable miserable
player at Dodger Stadium this year. That should be the
singular focus. Make him miserable. But we'll talk more about
who you don't like.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
In the set.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah, I just don't think it's gonna matter. Gonna thrive
on that. I think they put. You know, some guys
you give him the silent treatment. Some guys you you
get after him a little bit. I think he would.
He's gonna thrive off of the cheater and the booze
and everything. He's one of those guys. He may be,
but he can also still be miserable. He can still
(03:30):
be miserable, thriving, and everybody should do that.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Miserable.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
He's been there for five six years. Whatever, He's not
gonna be miserable.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I don't know if fifty two thousand people starting.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Maybe it's the World Series. He's gonna thrive off of that.
He loves that moment.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
We'll find out. He'll have a chance against klass Now
and Otani at Dodger Stadium, and that's the way. It
won't be because the crowd rattles him.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Just trust me.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Okay, you're probably be more. It'll be more Yamamodal Glass,
now Snell and those guys than it would be the
crowd rattled him. Okay, well, listen, you're probably right. I'm
not even gonna question it, but I'd still like to
see it happen.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Uh so Seattle last night, And if Seattle won that game,
I would have said, let's not even play the World
Series because it wouldn't have even been an event. For
a while, you're thinking, oh, maybe they can pull us off,
maybe they can hold on. Now they can't hold on.
The Dodgers would have annihilated them, annihilated them. It would
(04:38):
have been like playing the Reds. I'm dead serious. At
least this will be more interesting.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Do you think Do you think it was that much
difference between Seattle and Toronto. I think even though the
series went seven games.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I think I think Seattle. I think Toronto was always
the better team. I think Seattle was the hot team
and the better team wanted to.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
End yeah, and took a home run in the seventh
to beat him, you know, and a questionable. You know,
people will question this for the end of time. Questionable,
you know, pitching decision. Just so you know, doctor fans,
you know, as much as you want to get on
Dave Roberts, it's always a tough decision for a manager
to whether to pull a guy, put a guy in,
(05:22):
leave a guy in. All those things go into it,
and those decisions are collective before the game, and so
they get to scenarios and they make the decision. But
you know, the question today is why did you take
out Wu and why wouldn't you bring in Munyez right
then to that spot. I mean, everybody has a you know,
after the fact commentary and armshore armchair quarterback, Monday Morning
(05:46):
quarterback after that, But at the moment, they felt that
there was the right decision and they know more than us.
But I just I don't like the over analysis of
the manager saying, why.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Did you do that?
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Why?
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Why did do that in that situation?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Why when they've talked about it and they've discussed it
and they said, if this happens, we're going to this
situation right now.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Well, it was the right decision for the Blue Jays.
It was certainly the right decision for Toronto. That makes
all sense of the world. By the way, yeah, at.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Home, who doesn't if WU, which has been their guy
throughout most of the season, at least the second half,
has been dominant. If he doesn't walk the hitter before
the Springer, he's still in the game. He's probably still
in the game. And you know, who knows what happens
(06:41):
with Springer or maybe he's not still in the game.
I don't know what their decision was to to to
pitch the springer or to you know what what it
was going to take in that scenario, but trust me
that they have discussed it and they know better than us.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
All Right, Well, so now here comes Toronto. Uh, should
we take a prediction now or shall we wait wait
till we get a little closer.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Wait to what prediction for what the series? Who's gonna
win and what is gonna look like? No making now
going on limb. Why are you waiting till tomorrow? Are
you waiting till tomorrow? I'm here right down the road,
or waiting till thursday? What are you waiting for? You
could have called me last night. I would have made
it exactly. So what are you waiting for?
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Five games?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Max? Wow?
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Five games?
Speaker 2 (07:29):
It would be sweet.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
If Otani pitched the fourth game and they could sweep
and Otani was on the hill, that would be sweet.
And that would happen at Dodger Stadium. Right now, the
Dodgers will win the World Series at Dodger Stadium because
they'll start on the road. I just believe that's the case.
They are monsters. They are healthy, They are firing on
(07:50):
all cylinders. You wonder about, well, they're gonna have a
six day layoff. Wookie thinks that's just great. He welcomed it,
no problem. He doesn't think they'll be rusty. He doesn't
think that they'll start slow. I don't either. By the way,
I think this is going to be a coronation.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Is that a fact?
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Can we write it down that they're not going to
be rusty the first game, first three games?
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Write it down? Okay, write an ink, an ink, Okay,
write an ink, don't erase it. I think it'll be
a coronation this year. I think it will.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Speak to.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
And I was thinking about this. To be honest with you, you're
awful confident, Fred, You're awful over confident. Like I'm fine.
I'm fine. I have missed, I have not missed, and
I'm not worried about this. And as a matter of fact,
I've been thinking about this, Rodney, just not the Dodgers.
But if you compare the Dodgers the way they operate
(08:43):
to any other business, compare the Dodgers to any other business,
the Dodgers operate like their Apple. Do you realize that?
I mean, do we have any idea? How incredible? What
you're witnessing is an organization that funk so well, that
is built for sustained success, finds itself in this position. Again,
(09:07):
it's like it was scripted. Now we don't know if
everybody's going to be healthy at this point. But that
also speaks to this. They're built for the playoffs. This
is why they're built the way they are. I said
it at the beginning of the year. Why can't we
just start the playoffs right now? Why don't we have
to go through all these games? They probably look at
(09:27):
it the same way. So they are built with depth.
They are built taking care of guys. Anything could happen.
Somebody could get hurt. I'm aware of that. But they
are built a certain way, and now you see the
result it everybody this year is healthy.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
It can be built that way, but it has to
play out that way.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Imagine if just think if it was reversed, though Fred,
you can't because nobody has a crystal ball. Think if
the starting pitcher would have started a season and everybody
was right about the Dodgers, and the Dodgers did start
off eight to oh and everybody thought they were going
to go one to sixty two and zero. Imagine if
they were healthy. It was the roles were reversed and
(10:09):
they were healthy the first three months of the season
and then started to get plagued by injuries, and injuries
started happening in August and September. Not getting guys back
from injury in August in September. Imagine if that happened,
which happens all the time to different teams, because you
never know how it's gonna happen, how it's going to
(10:29):
play out. That's a different story. And so you could say, oh, yeah,
they're built for the playoffs, but things have to happen
the right way too, because at one point there was
the questions whether or not they're built for the playoffs
because they were they going to have enough starting pitching
and the bullpen was terrible. But now that they've gotten
(10:49):
everybody healthy, it's like everybody said, well, see they planned
it this way. Everybody's healthy in September. Everybody's healthy in September,
and now that's that's the way they planned it, and
that's how they built it, and so guys wouldn't have
to pitch a whole lot during the regular season and
then they come back and they're healthy. The only one
that they planned out like that was Otani, where they
(11:12):
just measured him and made sure that he was his
pitch count was not going to get up.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
They slowly worked.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Them in and now he's able to go seven and
he's eight if he hasked to. But everything else was
kind of, you know, it was kind of falling into
it the right way and the right guys. They got
hurt and got healthy at the right time.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
It's simple.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
It's really This is so simple if you're a real
baseball fan, it's just simple. They have the best pitching
in Major League Baseball and all their pitchers are healthy. Done, done,
that's it. They have by far the best pitching staff
in Major League Baseball, and they're all healthy at the
same time. That's it. Now, somebody just got a couple
(11:57):
of hits. I'd much rather be this. I'd rather have
the best pitching staff in baseball done the best hitters
right now. I want the best pitching. That's what wins.
The Dodgers have it. And my god, what a staff.
What a staff? No, not one game. One game. It'll
(12:22):
be a coronation, and it should be because they've earned it.
It will be a coronation, all right. So anyway, we
talked about George Springer, and you know how everybody should
react to him. I don't know if he would be
enemy number one on the all time Dodger I hate
the other team players list. I'm no guy that Dodger
(12:44):
fans did not like. He's a friend of yours, and recently,
a couple of years ago I saw him and he's
really a nice guy. Barry Bonds, I assure you, Dodger
fans didn't like Barry Bonds just didn't like him, and.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Coupled with the fact that he played for the most
hated Dodger rival and the Giants, and the Giants were
formidable at that point. Absolutely, yeah, made it worse. But
think about who else Dodger fans when you look at
it is the totality of everything. If you've been a fan.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
For thirty years, forty years, who are the guys you hate?
Is George Springer at the top of that list because
you'll get a chance to give it to them next week?
I mean, is I just flashed through.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Not being on and George Springer is not the top
of the list of yeah, because you were playing them.
But we just ran through four guys on that team
of the Astros that were higher than George Springer. That's
Fay Juli Guriel of that team is more hated than
George Springer. Al two Vas more hated, Gregman is more hated.
(13:54):
Correa certainly is more hated. So yeah, there's a number
of guys that would be above George Springer in terms
of hate. But yeah, but the fact that he was
a part of that team, you know, gives you license
and gives you carte blanche to go boo the hell
out of him when he comes up to play first
(14:14):
time against the Dodgers at Dodgers David.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
But over the years, Dodger fans guys that have really
just annoyed you. I mean, who are they? You've been
following the Dodgers for a long time. It might be
somebody other than the Astros, somebody other than Barry Bonds.
Since we're gonna have somebody in the World Series that
everybody hates here, who else have Dodger fans incluting that?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Let me ask you who? Fred?
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Let me ask you who was your hated guy outside
of the Astros, which is obvious and Barry Bonds?
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Who you miss it? Who else? Who?
Speaker 3 (14:47):
For you on that list is at the top. Who
else do I think Dodger fans will say they hate you?
Know who else you hate?
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Well?
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Correy is my number one.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I said, outside of the Houston guys them Manny Machado, Okay, hatable, yeah,
very hateable, Yes, he is very macho. Since he left
the Dodgers, he has been very hateable, from all the
antics and arguing with players to throwing the ball at
Dave Roberts to all those things. Yeah, I would say, yeah,
(15:20):
Manny Machado might be enemy number one of the Dodgers
outside of the Houston guys.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
All right, well, Dodger fans, who is it a six
six nine eighty seven two five seventy? That is the
number A six six nine eighty seven two five seventy
Dodger fans? Okay on the all time hate list? Who
is it?
Speaker 5 (15:43):
Make am five to seventy LA Sports a preset before
you plug in your foote presets in the iHeartRadio app,
now available with Apple car Play and Android autom Just
another easy way to listen to LA's best sports talk.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
That's all we needed to know. Let's go, let's line
them up and let's go play Dodgers Blue Jays game
one Friday in Toronto.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
That place is gonna be rocking over there too. Rogers Center, Fred, oh,
you know it is. Rogers Centers was rocking last night.
It's gonna be rocking for the Dodgers, the big bad Dodgers.
Now the Dodgers have taken over. They've taken over the Yankees.
You know it used to be the Evil Empire Yankees.
Everybody hated the Yankees, wanted to beat the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
No matter what.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
I wanted to see the Yankees because they can knock
the Yankees off. The Dodgers have taken that over to me.
Uh without question. I think they just rolled through the
Yankees as being that call it evil empire, call it
that team to beat, call it that team that everybody
nb's call it, all of those things. The Dodgers are
the team that they would they want to play because
(16:46):
they want to feel like they beat Goliath.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I get it, No, I got one hundred percent. I
just think people are so jealous of the Dodgers, and yeah,
they were jealous of the Yankees back then. They're jealous
the Dodgers now, and they will do whatever it takes
to to knock off the Dodgers. They think it's sweeter.
I think that most teams would.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
They they feel like, if we could do this, this
is greater than say, beating the Brewers in the World Series.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
I'm sure. But back in the day when the Yankees
were playing, nobody screamed the Yankees ruined baseball. That's a
new narrative. The doctor's got that one.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
They absolutely were y.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yes, they did. What are you talking about when Empire
all of that. Yeah, absolutely, Darth Vader, when the Yankees
would come, I mean.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
No, I got it. Yes, of course they think they
were ruined baseball. But I don't think anybody said they
are ruining baseball. They just hated them.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
They hated them because they felt they were ruining baseball
and they had a competitive advantage over everyone because they
were buying people.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
They were buying people. That was the whole scene. It's
the same argument, Fred, I don't understand why. Yeah, it's
the same argument that people are making about the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are buying players, the Dieters spend more money,
they're they're there buying the championship. That's exactly what they
used to say about the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Yes, but I didn't think they phrased it by saying
they ruined baseball. They did, they did, Okay, well I
blocked that out.
Speaker 6 (18:14):
I mean, part of the reason the luxury tax structure
is the way that it is is because of those
Yankee teams. That's a fairly recent thing over the last
twenty five years or so.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Let me ask you this. I read this this morning,
so it talked about how much money each team made.
Now we know the Dodgers made more money than anybody
in baseball last year, more money than anybody, like seven
hundred and sixty two million dollars. They invested like five
hundred and ninety four million or whatever it is back
into the pay roll with a luxury tax. At the
end of it, net they made twenty one million dollars.
(18:45):
Forbes had that, I think they made twenty one million dollars.
I think a team like Pittsburgh made thirty four million.
So at the end of it, Pittsburgh made more money
than the Dodgers. Now, the Dodgers generated more revenue and
invested it back in the franchise, yes, but when it
was time to take it home, I think Pittsburgh made
more money. Think about that. Say about that made more money.
(19:08):
Dodgers generated more revenue, Pittsburgh made more money. Keep that
in mind when you say the Dodgers ruined baseball. You
can spend your money too. You chose not to. Okay,
who do you hate? That's the question here. Who's number one?
Public going to be number one? We'll go to Daniel. Daniel,
(19:29):
thanks for holding appreciate it. Who is it that you hate?
As a Dodger fan.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
Hey, guys, thanks for having me.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
It was before his time as a Dodger, but I'd
have to say the Silver Fox, Chase Suttley.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
You hated Chase Hutley. Oh, Chase, he played edgy? How
about everything? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Yeah, Chase was one of those You won him on
your team, but you hated him when he was on
the other team. Wow, I don't think I I hated him.
You don't know that when Chase was with the Phillies. Yeah,
but you blocked that out too. Chase was one of
the most hated players in the league. People thought he
(20:11):
was borderline dirty. No, he'll just give you a hard ninety.
He's not borderline dirty. He was borderline dirty. You know
when Joss Naylor did that jump up and jump up
on the double play and got hit and they called
him out. People immediately referenced that's something Chase Utley would do.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
That slid when he was when he was a Dodger,
that playoff game against the Mets, that slide against the
hot I believe it was, and broke his leg. I mean,
I love Chase. Two plays hard, but a little dirty.
You want to be honest with you.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
A little bit a little bit.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Just plays the game hard, boys, Okay, when he lit
the Dodgers, he's just playing the game hard. All right,
let's go in so mar Joe, thanks for holding Who
is it?
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Who's the guy?
Speaker 8 (20:56):
I got a couple, but yeah, he's one.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Let's gold.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Jason.
Speaker 8 (21:01):
Jason's always hitting the hitting the home runs at the
wrong time. We don't need to hit a home run
against us, but always he always got us at the
wrong time.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Jason always took it from us to come to mind
to me.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Now you get one, you're picking Jason Worth. Come on,
Jason Worth, let it, Joe, Jaime Jason.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Worths when he was at what St. Louis, Phillies, I'm
sorry Phillies. Yeah, all right, thanks Joe. Yeah, does he
come to mind for you?
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Friend? No? You know what that was with Joe? Deep seated,
that's very deep seed.
Speaker 6 (21:40):
I even asked him off the air because Jason started
like the hair.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
I don't think he liked Jason Worth's hair.
Speaker 6 (21:44):
Yeah, Jason, well, I don't know if he started here.
I think he started in the Toronto but he was
here for a couple of years and was good. I
think he really took off of Philadelphia and he helped
them win one of those World Series. So I said
that him winning with the Phillies and not the Dodgers
affect your decision. He's like no, I was like, then,
why exactly what was I'm gonna sense that Jason Worth
was this giant thorn in the Dodgers side. But I
guess maybe he felt differently.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
David Freeze is another one that we hated and then
loved him when he was here.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yeah, seen it. But David Freeze didn't have an attitude, right.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
I think it's probably because he was a cardinal, so
that didn't help it. He was part of the Cardinal Way.
So any of those guys he got here.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Fred Fred ignored Chase Utley's antics when he was with
the Phillies because he's a Dodger and it finished his
career with the Dodgers, So Fred forgot everything that happened
when he was with the Phillies.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah, I love Chase Utley. See I did you know
the old line we love those who hate our enemies.
It's it's our guy theory. When you're on the other team,
we hate you, but when you're our guy, we love you.
What was dirty in Philadelphia. Was good heard.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Baseball with the Dodgers. The enemy of my enemy is
my friend, right, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
There, it is all right, Fred and Ranchel Cucamonga.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Fred, who do you hate?
Speaker 8 (23:02):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (23:02):
Dollas? How you doing good?
Speaker 2 (23:04):
What do you hate?
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Fred?
Speaker 9 (23:06):
Well, I would say Manny Machado as a player, because
he's just a giant, big cry baby. But I think
the one that couples that with the Angel fans because
all he do is Crydalli dos cry by Alardie Morano
not doing this, that the Dodgers are are cheating, that
the Dodgers are ruining baseball play something man Fred?
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Fred?
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Fred, Fred, you're telling me that when it comes to
the most hated opposition, you are picking Angel fans.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Correct.
Speaker 9 (23:39):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Oh good, well we have an Angel fan. You're in
the show, Fred. Thanks Kevin. How do you feel about that?
Cry baby?
Speaker 6 (23:45):
I mean, I will think, well, first of all, I
am crying tears because I've had to watch the Angels
play for the last ten years. So just based on that,
and I would think as a Dodger fan, the Angels
as an organization, as a team, as a crew are
not even a piple on my ass I could care
less about what that team is doing, because you know
what they are doing nothing and they've not done anything
for ten years, while you've been to what five World
(24:05):
Series and one two I'm probably probably three hopefully here.
So as a Dodger fan, as a Doctor supporter, the
Angels are irrelevant to me. That's how I woo, That's
how I would look at it.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Our Dodger full less than five people that consider the
Angel fans are thrown in the Dodger's side or any
kind of rival to the Dodgers at all.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
That's even that, MANI Rodney.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
It's like, yeah, the Angels are afterthought. They're not even
an afterthought. They're after after afterthought when it comes to
the Dodgers and hated enemies or hated rivals.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
And I will speak as an Angel fan, I am not.
I am envious of what the Dodgers are doing, but
I don't hate on them, and I don't think they're
ruining baseball. I'm envious because I have an owner who
owns a team in Los Angeles who changed the name
from Anaheim, but he's operating them like their Anaheim and
not Los Angeles like a small market team. So if
you're going to be a big boy and proclaim that
you're a big boy, then act like one.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Speak to Kevin, speak on it.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
You know, I think more troubling than Fred's common was
the visual you painted, Kevin. I don't think we need
to hear that again.
Speaker 6 (25:03):
Oh, pimple on the Dodgers ass.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
That's yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
I don't need me to say that. Okay, all right,
Edgar Nanaheim, Edgar? Who do you hate?
Speaker 8 (25:12):
Okay? I got a few names, but number one I'll
tube him. That guy, that guy, by himself took away
Clayton Krusha's legitimate championship. I think Krisha that was Krisha's
year and he took it away from him. I don't
know how that guy walks around and I normal. The
other two guys, Will Clark, Will Cark and Matt Williams.
Those freaking guys, dude, I hate him when those guys
(25:33):
will kill the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Did well, Clark, that's a good pull Edgar, nice job. Yeah,
he was not well liked, especially by Dodger fans. That
was a really good poll. Okay, let's go down to
San Diego. Rory, thanks for listening. Who was it you
don't like in San Diego.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Yeah, good morning guys. Yeah, he gotta go with Nanny
Machado man. He was, he Fred and had it right.
He's sub cry baby, he was. He was just not
even like when he was a Dodger and then he
made it worse when he went down there.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Yeah, you're right, absolutely, thanks for your call. He was right.
I mean, the things that he did when he was
in the Dodger uniform, you could feel it like Dodger
fans were like, he doesn't represent us. He's not doing
the things. He's not playing the game like Dodger. Like
when he stepped on the first baseman, I forget it
was who actually was his friend stepped on his ankle
(26:30):
running down the first base, you know, with the comment
what he made what didn't even say it right when
he said it, said Charlie Hustle. He said, I'm not
Johnny Hustle. It just all those things just does not
make him Dodger like. I mean, it was exciting when
they first signed him because they thought it was going
to help propel them to you know, a World series.
He was a big bat and all those kind of things,
(26:51):
but watching him play the game for that half a season.
It was just Dodger fans were through with him, and
that speaks to culture. Yeah, he didn't fit the Dodger culture.
Can he play?
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah, when he steps up to the play against the Dodgers,
are we terrified?
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Do we know that at any moment he could change
the game with one swing.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Of his bat?
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Absolutely, And he could have done all of those things
if he continued to play for the Dodgers, except he
didn't fit into the Dodger culture. That's what culture is,
That's what a winning team is. Okay, let's go to
Manny in Downtown La. Manny, who is it? Who's number
one on your hit parade?
Speaker 10 (27:31):
This was a tough choice because of the guy who's
second place. I'm not gonna mention his name because I'm
only gonna do this one. I'm gonna have to say
Max Scherzer. And here's the reason why. He left a
really bad taste in my mouth and a lot of
Dodger fans mouth. And he ran his mouth about Dave
Roberts cutting his outing short and the playoffs in twenty
twenty one. But now that he's with Toronto, I feel
(27:53):
like we got a little bit of a rivalry going
now with him because he has something to prove, just
like we do. And as a Dodge, I really didn't
appreciate those words, uh he had against the Dodgers. So yeah,
because in my second mention was Matt Carpenter Dodger.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Killer, Matt Carpenter.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Carpenter definitely was killed. I'm glad you mentioned that about Sureser.
I never liked him after that, to be honest with you,
I thought it was good and Fred you mentioned That's like,
oh yeah, we got everybody's talking about Schreser, but the
true prize was Trey Turner, and you know they could
have and I have a little bad taste in my
mouth about him as well. But Schurezer the blame game
(28:34):
that he put on display with Dave Roberts and the
Dodgers and the whole dead arm thing, and they overused me.
But yet he demanded the I mean that whole narrative.
It was just a cop out to me and just
cowardly to me from Max Schurzer.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
I didn't like it.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
And then the whole thing you don't touch me and
don't look at me and all that kind of stuff
just rubbed me the wrong way, especially when it comes
to your teammates. Just yeah, I'm with on the Max
Surger thing. He left a bad taste in my mouth
when he was a Dodger.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
All right, let's go to San Diego. Felix, thanks for
holding go ahead.
Speaker 9 (29:10):
What's going on, gentlemen.
Speaker 11 (29:12):
It's a recurrent name and it brings a point. And Rodney,
I'm actually going to say, not only Machado, but you
said what the way he did things?
Speaker 9 (29:23):
How about the way.
Speaker 12 (29:24):
He didn't do things from the minute he got to
La the guy quit on a bottom line, he quit.
And Fred, you actually made a comment right now, and
I actually was able to prove it.
Speaker 11 (29:36):
This weekend, I hung out with Modre fans. We're watching
the Colts Charger game. They were once they got liquered,
they were very honest.
Speaker 9 (29:44):
Man, you guys, you guys got his so made you guys.
Speaker 11 (29:47):
Man, you guys suck man. You guys got all these resources.
Speaker 13 (29:51):
You want him back?
Speaker 12 (29:53):
I got those four comments you want him back?
Speaker 11 (29:56):
Like dude, I wouldn't give no, no.
Speaker 14 (30:00):
Wouldn't even take him back as a nuncer.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
We don't want him back.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Appreciated. Felix, Thanks, that's really cool. All right, let's go
to Tarzana. Kenny is holding Kenny, appreciate it. Oh you're
going to blast in the past. Go ahead, Kenny.
Speaker 13 (30:13):
Well, you guys didn't grow up here like I did.
And this happened about five years before I started following
the Dodgers in nineteen seventy. But one, Mareshal, this isn't
even close in terms of all times what he did
hitting our catcher John Roseboro over the head with a
back So currently though, you guys hit the nail on
(30:33):
the heady with Machado. But in terms of the astros,
I have to say Al two v right next to Korea.
The think he's Al two bays getting in it the
whole time.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
No, Kenny, you already got it. Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, stop stop,
you already got it.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
One.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Marichell is your winner. One Marichelle is your winner. You
don't have to say anything else.
Speaker 13 (30:54):
That day when I went to Houston, what do you
have to say? I went to Houston, took my daughter,
spent the most none ever spent on World Series Take
it s eight hundred bucks of Pop Game five thirteen
to twelve, and he was frogmant. I told her something's
wrong here. I couldn't pinpoint it, but it was ridiculous.
(31:15):
So you see, guy's terrible.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
All right, dude, thanks Kenny, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Who's the guy you hate? Johnny Dodger fans hate? Who
do you hate?
Speaker 4 (31:24):
Man?
Speaker 9 (31:24):
Oh? Madison, bun bum Garner.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
I can buy that.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
That was a good pull too.
Speaker 9 (31:32):
It seems like he was always a bogie and especially.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
With Twig, I can buy that.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I got into it him and Mounsey got into it.
I love the Munsie to get it out of the ocean,
right right, that was the best. Munsey pimped the home
run off of him and Muncey said get it out
of the ocean.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
But yeah, he and Puigue Hey had they were legendary
going at it with each other.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
I think he was always troubled being named Madison. I
think that was his issue.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Do you think that was that? Yeah? I think, you know.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
I think he struggled with that and he had a
lot of anger.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
And he tried to take it on compleet.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
I apologize for Fred Rogan, my colleague, my host, my
co host, for saying anything about your name Madison.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
I happen to like the name Madison, so do I
but you don't see. How many men do you see
named Madison?
Speaker 9 (32:21):
Now?
Speaker 1 (32:23):
I guess it's a unisex name. That's fair, it is.
But we have a very good family friend a woman
named Madison. So what you know? For me, it's kind
of a tough leap.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Do you feel that way about Lynz? You feel that way?
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Huh? You feel that way about Lynz?
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Or Lynn?
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Yeah? Lynn? Do you feel that way about Lynn?
Speaker 3 (32:45):
Anybody named Lynn?
Speaker 1 (32:48):
I don't know any lens.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
I'm saying Lynn can be a woman's name or a
man's name.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Yes, that's fair, that's fair. How many men are named Lynn?
Speaker 2 (33:01):
That's that? No, you're right. I mean there's a lot
of lands.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
I would say, more Len than Limb, more Ying than Yang.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
I don't know what that means.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Jason and Irvine? All right, who do you hate?
Speaker 2 (33:19):
You there? Jason?
Speaker 1 (33:22):
All right, let's go Gabriel and witty er Gabriel? Who
do you hate?
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Okay? Let's go?
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Oh, go to Oakland? How about this oaktown? Somebody listening
on the app in Oakland?
Speaker 2 (33:32):
All right?
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Gary, who do you hate?
Speaker 5 (33:35):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (33:35):
I've been waiting for this question for so long? Anybody
from that twenty seventeen Astros team, that confluence of Jose
al Tuve, Carlos Correa, George Springer, who I cannot stand.
I was happy that the Blue Jays one because now
we get to see him cry after they lose.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
All right, Thanks Garry, Thanks Garry. All right, that's all.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Right, I'm just glaring. I'm claud Gary's okayin in Oakland.
You don't know what will happen in Oakland half the time.
Let's be fair the area.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Yeah, just keep your head down.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
We got we got all the astros, that was a given,
but then we got some ones that were got machadod
which we we kind of picked. We got some new
ones though, And I don't know if we hate like
Carpenter because of his personality more so than just because
he was a Dodger killer, right, but Bumgardner had attitude.
(34:30):
He had a lot of attitude towards the Dodgers and
just attitude in general. All right, coming up.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
At one o'clock, ed Eric Dickerson joins the show. Later,
we'll get into the Lakers opening tonight, and will you
sign that jersey?

the regret, the mistakes and the lessons that come with it.
It's that feeling of losing your best friend and coming

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Sorry, it's a little noise. I have to step out
of a little meeting I have because I never want
to miss my moment with Fred and Rodney.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
So come on, Jacob, please, right on, Jacob, Right on, Jacob, Jacob.
We do want to talk about Lakers Opening Day, but
your thoughts on Dodgers facing the Blue Jays in.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
The World Series.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
Man, I'm loving it. I'm loving it. I'm loving the
fact that, you know, we're playing against the team that
had an amazing record. Everybody likes to make it look
like Dodgers are the big bad bullies, but we're playing
a team that really really kept to come back last
night being down three to one. And it'll be fun,
you know, us versus Canada. Let's go. I'm excited, you know,
(37:34):
back to back is coming. I feel good about this.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Yeah, Well, the Dodgers are the big bad bullies. Jacob.
I mean, we can't, we can't deny that they really are.
But it's everybody else's fault, not the Dodgers, everybody else.
Let the Dodgers be the Dodgers. Jacob, you can write
that down.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Well, you know, living in LA, we're not gonna hate
on that. You know, great ownership. I was so excited
when Marks also bought you know, majority sharing the Lakers,
because he has proven he loves La. He's not afraid
to spend, and he's smart about how he spends. I
saw this thing on social media the other day that
you know, he spent seven hundred million dollars on this
(38:14):
one player and he made seven hundred million in one year.
That man is a real, real not only a businessman,
but he also knows how to get out of the
way and let the people who know how to run
the teams run.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
The teams exactly. All right, let's talk about the Lakers.
Here we go. They tip it off tonight. What are
you expecting, Jacob, No, Lebron.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
I'm expecting. I'm shoot, I'm expecting Luca Magic. That's what
I'm expecting. He's coming out. I'd look at this as
a event season. Last year got traded towards the end
of the year, never really got his feet on the ground,
and he still gave us a lot. You know, he's
in great shape, he's ready to be the leader of
(38:58):
this team. And you know, he made a comment when
they asked them, you know, what do you think about
Lebron not being here? And that really I mean, I
was just like, wow, I mean that's bold. He said,
Lebron's a great player. But next man up. You know,
we we we've got something to do here. We're not
going to not do it because Lebron's not there. And
if he can bring that leadership and we all know
(39:18):
that most likely this team's not gonna you know, look
the same in February as it's assembled now, because every
year the Lakers go out and make tweaks. But you know,
I'm excited to see what Mark is Smart's going to
do if he stays healthy. Excited to see what Ayton
is going to do. It's just you know, Laker basketball
is always exciting. I you know, I love Opening Night,
(39:40):
you know, can't wait to get there tonight. And I
know the rest of the Laker fans, like myself, we're
excited to get the season started.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
Yeah, Yeah, it's going to be good. It's going to
be exciting.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
I actually think it's a good thing that Luca's taken
over and that Lebron is going to miss a little bit.
What do you think about that, Jacob, I think it's
you know, Lebron not being able to start the season
actually solidifies Luca as you know, the heir apparent and
the new leader of this team going forward. And I
(40:12):
think it's going to be, you know, for however long
it happens that Lebron is out. It allows Luca to
really be the face of this franchise, which I think,
at the end of the day, is going to be
a good thing.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
What do you think, you know, I think that's a
great point. I think Luca started the off season by
getting the team together. It took him out to drive Porsches,
you know, Porsche's on a you know, on a track.
I mean, he's really trying to bring everybody together. And
I think he's now going to have a chance to
be a leader not only off the court, but on
(40:46):
the court. He's not going to have to share that
leadership on the court with Lebron. He's going to have
a six weeks jump start on being able to learn
and get the players where he wants them to be,
where he comfortable. And then when Lebron comes. Obviously, Lebron's
an incredible player, and Lebron is going to bring so
(41:07):
much to the team. But I think the fact that
the team gets a chance to learn how to play
with Luca, who really is going to be our engine,
is going to be really important. And I think this
also gives an opportunity for some of these new guys,
Jake la Ravia, Rui Hachimura, some of these guys to
get some more time and really show us. I mean,
Rui's got to have to show us what he can
(41:28):
really bring because if not, he may be part of
the conversation at the trade dead line. I mean, all
of these guys are going to be able to show
what they can do without Lebron on the floor, and
that's going to be important.
Speaker 1 (41:39):
All right, our listeners love and you offer advice, Jacob.
And when I was driving back out to the desert,
this happened three or four times. And if you don't
see him coming, you hear him and it kind of
startles you. Motorcycle riders on the road Jacob, what can
you talk about?
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Yeah, you know, so it's always such a slippery slope
because in California, motorcycle rider have a legal right to
split lanes, and riding motorcycles is a way of life.
It's not just a transportation and you know, I've had
the pleasure of representing a lot of motorcycle riders, got
to understand their psyche. But I also understand that it's very,
(42:17):
very dangerous and very often someone who gets hit on
a motorcycle is badly injured. These are not just oh
I got a little bit of a back ache. There's
broken bones. Hopefully they're wearing a helmet, and if they're
wearing it, oh I'm so sorry. Hopefully they're wearing a helmet.
Hopefully they're wearing a helmet, and if they're not, there's
(42:38):
a lot of brain injury cases we have handled people
on motorcycles. But the one thing that is important. Just
this morning, I got a call from a lady who
says she was driving down the freeway, looked around and
slowly began to make a lane change to her left
and suddenly got hammered by a motorcycle coming and that
motorcycle was split in lanes as it's very obviously legal
(43:03):
in California, and she was so distraught because she felt
she didn't do anything wrong, but now here comes somebody
on a motorcycle that have to be carried away in
an ambulance. And the reason I, you know, bring up
this example is that very often, even when you think
you're not at fault, you've got to be aware of
what's around you, and you have to make sure that
(43:24):
even after the accident, you do a good job of
explaining to the police officer exactly what you were doing.
Because I haven't received the police report on this accident,
and even though the client who was riding the motorcycle
rear ended our client, who's a driver, there could very
well be comparative negligence because they're going to, you know,
(43:45):
blame the motorcycle person as well as the person who
was changing lanes. So I think the message that I
want to be able to make sure that I get
out to all of our listeners is whether you're on
a motorcycle or whether you are driving a motor vehicle,
you have to be able to be very aware of
who is around you, and you have to be very
(44:05):
aware in terms of changing lanes because we got a
lot of lane change accidents and sometimes even the police
can't figure out who was at fault, and then people
are left without being able to fix their cars and
being able to fix, you know, any of their injuries. So,
you know, we do a lot of these motorcycle cases.
They're a lot more complicated. If anyone has questions, you're
(44:25):
more than welcome to call us. But just be safe
out there because you never know, you know, this accident,
how much of an injury could cause to somebody else
who was involved in the accident with you, Jacob.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
Great advice, That is great advice. And you be careful
wherever you're at, Jacob, because I mean it's very congested.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
Where you're at.
Speaker 4 (44:45):
Yeah, I'm close to Theecrypto dot com. I've gotten kind
of a headstart on tonight's game, so I'm getting ready
to lose my voice tonight.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
What are you, Jacob? You're pre gaming a little bit.
What are you tossing the back?
Speaker 2 (44:58):
Jacob?
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Can all look it up for the game?
Speaker 4 (45:01):
Hey, you know, we pre game when it comes down
to going to SC games. Now, there's got to be
a tradition, there's pre games when it comes to Dodger games.
Now we got to start one for the Laker game.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Absolutely, absolutely good for you, Jacob A.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Guys, have a good week. Good week, Jacob, Thank you, guys.
Speaker 4 (45:19):
Take care, go Lakers.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
All right, lock the doors, board the windows. E d
Eric Dickerson joins the show when we come back.
