Speaker 1 (00:06):
All right, there we go just to sprint force today,
Fred Rogan, Rodney Pete on a five seventy LA Sports
one hour Rodney is one hour an.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hour hour today. One hour sprint, Fred, one hour sprint.
I know it was out and you guys probably chopped
it up about the walk off man of Otani. Did
you know, Fred? Did you know when he walked up
to the plate he was gonna hit it out. I
knew they weren't going to lose. I'll tell you that.
(00:34):
I said this.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
I knew when they were down five nothing they'd win
the game too. It's this bizarre mindset we find ourselves
in now that well, you're.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Never out of it.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
As a matter of fact, we'll just wait for the
other team to make a mistake. Be down twelve nothing, Yeah,
that's okay, no problem. When any other game, if you're
down five to three in the ninth you were thinking,
oh my god, are we're gonna get a run around?
Can somebody just move to second? Can we get lucky
and get two guys on? Well a pitcher make a mistake,
(01:06):
you know, are we gonna even have a shot here?
And you look at the Dodgers and you go, yeah,
then win. I mean that's really what I thought. This
is not a problem at all. That's a really kind
of weird mindset to be. And when you're looking at
something and think nothing is insurmountable, Yeah, we got you.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Kind of you kind of at least I did. Started
to have that kind of feeling last year as they
were making their run, like they were finding ways to
win games, like you like, how did they There's no
way they should win? And then this year it's not
even a question. Sometimes like you said, down five to nothing,
(01:45):
they couldn't they couldn't buy a play defensively for Blake
Snell and start, I mean have five up guy five runs,
all of them unearned, and uh, they're down, and you think, well, okay,
they're playing the braves. The braves, you know they're gonna
get out. They're slump. At some point they're gonna break out.
Maybe this is the game, but it's at Dodger Stadium.
The vibe is there, and just and then watching the
(02:08):
game and and hearing hearing the Joe Davis and the
guys talk about wouldn't it be interesting if one or
two guys get on and they get to flip the
lineup over and Otani gets up and it gets to
the top of the lineup, and they said that the
ending before nine to one two. They did it. They
did it enough to get to Otani to have a chance,
(02:31):
and Pyes gets out, strikes out, and you just it
just felt like, Okay, it's gonna happen. I don't think
anybody was shocked at all, you know, not certainly, not
anymore in those moments, whether it's and Mookie did it,
you know, a couple of nights before and and it's
(02:51):
just they have and I think that's a team White thing.
They have a mindset that it doesn't it doesn't matter
who's up at the plate or what the situation is.
We're we're gonna find a way to get the right
hit the right time, and and we're gonna tie this
game up. I'm gonna win the game. And I gotta
believe it's so much pressure on the other teams. I think,
you know, think about how Atlanta feels. They're creeping back
(03:12):
into the game, Atlanta and that Dugout's gotta be going,
oh man, these these guys. You know, we had them
a five to nothing. Now it's five to three, and
oh no, here we go, we gotta oh and it's
got to be demoralizing. But confidence wise, they're they're at
that point where they're feeling it doesn't matter. It could
(03:34):
be down nine to nothing. Fred.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
That's my coming that, that's my point. It is so
odd to be in a position where you think that
way that it's always gonna be okay. And I'm just
talking about from my fans perspective. Not one time when
they were down in that game was I worry. Now
that's weird. And if you look at it, a guy's
down five to nothing, you could just pitch, just call
(03:59):
it all right, you know what. You can stay out
there and take your lumps. Now, well we'll lift to
play again tomorrow. Who knows they'll beat his ten nothing.
You just stay out there and just that's the way
it's gonna you know, that's the way this works. Five nothing,
we're in the game. We got to write where we
want you now, Now we got you. We're down five nothing.
(04:20):
Now we're ready, Roddy roll this open, come on.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Come on, we gotta like this year's song much better
than last Yeah, this is a little a little snappy.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Little jazzy, little jazzy. Hey hey hey, yeah, a little
bit much better than last year's song. Okay, So, now
the Dodgers are in Philadelphia. Bill Plaski says, look, if
these guys can beat the Phillies, and the Phillies very
much like the Braves, consider one of the top teams
in the National League. And by the way, I understand,
if you start like oh and seven, your chance to
(05:17):
make the playoffs is like, you know, nine million percent.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
It doesn't matter. Atlanta will be fine and Atlanta will
be a force. But now we see the Phillies. Now,
the Phillies don't spend as much money as the Dodgers,
but the Phillies spent money, so they're now considered one
of the top teams in the National League.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yamamoto goes tonight for.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
The Dodgers, and uh, jezus Lozardo I think goes for
the Phillies and he got hit in his last outing,
but he struck out eleven.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
So it'll be interesting to see how that matchup goes.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
But Plaski says this, if you get by the Phillies,
let's say you're unbeaten leaving Philadelphia. If you look at
the schedule going forward, he goes, oh my god, the
Dodgers could be thirty six and zero. They could win
thirty six straight games if you look at the upcoming schedule,
thirty six and h which at that point would probably
(06:06):
put them twenty games up in the division after playing
thirty six. But the team is so good, sir, you
start thinking like that.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Oh, I mean, look, at this point, I am not
ruling out anything with the Dodgers. They can they can
do no wrong right now. They've got magic up and
down the lineup. I mean, look, and and we're you know,
we're talking about Otani and his walk off, and Mooki
and his home run in the eighth and then his
walk off. Freddie's not even playing right now, and and
(06:43):
and yet don't forget about Tommy Edmund, Fred Tommy Edmund
is doing he's the leader in the clubhouse right now.
So they've got so many guys, so many weapons that
you look and go, Okay, I can and we've said
this before, I can take a deep breath. Now I
got past the top three. I can take a deep breath.
(07:05):
And by the way, don't let don't let Max Munsey
get hot. You know in that lineup, I mean hopefully
the the possible switch to the bat and not switch
to the bat, but then going back to his old
bat and hitting the double, you know, get lights of
fire on him, he gets going, because if he gets
going as well, uh, it becomes really scary up and
(07:28):
down that lineup.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
See, the Dodgers are messing with everybody's minds. Not really
what's happening here, they're they're they're doing a mind trip
on everybody in the city. Because if given what's happened
and the way they're playing so far, yea Bill Plashki,
well I think they can win thirty they canna be
thirty six or oh it's like some weird mind trip
that is so far from any type of true reality.
(07:53):
But you sit here and go, yeah, that's possible that
might happen.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Is he just looking at the schedule going, oh, they
can be these guys because they can beat anybody. But
but it's like Cobs, Marlins like that, the Rockies, they
play the I mean the Cubs, Cubs had them, well,
Japan Cubs had them beat one game and didn't you
know again, Dodgers went in. But they got to go
(08:17):
to Texas in one of those those stretches to Fred, so,
I mean, well, we'll see, but it's not Rodney, listen
to you, listen to you. Well you're in it.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Okay, Well let's see if they get by the Phillies.
All right, they got Cobs and Marley. You know, they
still have to go to Texas. Even you're sitting here thinking, well,
I mean maybe not thirty six and oh they've still got.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
To gout in Texas. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not saying thirty
six and oh like Plaski, but they sure as well.
Maybe it's thirty and six. I mean, it very well
could be. They could go on a crazy, like crazy run.
It could be one of those you know it was
it started the season crazy and they keep going and
(09:00):
they went off on them, or that one year that
the A's won like twenty something straight. It could be
one of those start the season, and when it gets
to double digits of them winning and starting the season,
then it becomes Then it becomes mad, Then it becomes
everybody talking about it. Then it becomes Okay, who's gonna
be a hero tonight? And it just be it just
(09:23):
has a life of its own. And they're at fourteenth straight,
fifteenth straight. Now they're at nineteen straight, and then you go,
are they ever gonna lose? And then they're thinking about it.
They're thinking, Okay, now we've got to keep this streak going,
going to be the guy tonight?
Speaker 1 (09:40):
You know, you've made my point. They've now messed with
your mind because no one is having a conversation like
this anywhere in the country about their team.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
No one anywhere. No.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
I don't know if anyone ever has had a conversation
like this. Maybe when the A's ran off that enormous
streak so many years ago, But aside from that, who
even would consider something like this when most people are
trying to figure out, Okay, who's our third starter are.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Going to be?
Speaker 1 (10:04):
You know, yeah, the left fielder, all right, he's okay,
But maybe at the trade deadline. If we make a move,
we get a shot. And very early in the season,
we're going, well, maybe they could win thirty six in
a row. Maybe that's a possibility. They're messing with everybody's minds.
It's like this weird mind trip they're pulling because of
the way they're doing things and because of the way
(10:26):
they're playing. When I watch, and I swear to you
this is true, I sit there and when I watch,
whether they're ahead or behind, if they score, and it's
just this misceral reaction I have. I just start laughing.
I just start laughing. Every time they score, I start laughing.
(10:51):
It's it's this reaction I now have. Oh yeah, well
you know that was coming. I start laughing, Yeah, oh,
tany hits a whole run. I just burst out laughing.
They win the game in the ninth I am like
laughing hysterically. That's not normal behavior. Normally, you go, oh,
what a moment.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
We won. I'm thinking, well, of course we won. Of
course we did. Of course Atani hit a walk off.
Of course Mooki hit a walk off. Of course, of
course Mooki tied the game up with a home run
in late innings, I mean, of course it's of course
Tommy Edmonds did hit a home run. Yeah, put us
right back in it. And even with Max struggling, of
course Max hit a double to tie the game up,
(11:32):
you know what I mean, and break out of a
crazy slump that he's in. Of course he did it
is it is scary how like you said, how whole
hum we are about it now like Otani does that
and you're like, no big deal. I'd mean we expected it,
we expected it, and anywhere else like you said, it
would go crazy talk about it for three days, four days.
(11:55):
It's like onto the next one for the Dodgers. Who's
going to be the hero tonight? And day? When he
came up, Fred, did you they had just got pious
out there? It was one out and I know you
probably discussed it. But when he came up, did you
think they were gonna walk him? No? I didn't think
(12:18):
they were gonna walk him. Do you think they should have? Yes?
But the problem is this, and here it is, here's
the problem. Or let's walk them. Yeah, what do you got?
Woooooooo whoo? All right now batting mookie bats, Let's pick
your poison? What do you want? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Well, which one you want, you can have one, you
can have both, but you can't have none. So pick one,
all right, we pick Otani? Bam, game over, you want
to pick Bookie. I'm not saying it would have home run,
but I'm not saying he wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
But he just did two nights bego before. I mean,
it is and it's happened. You know where those guys,
all three of them, I think, have ben felt in
that ru He don't talk about it because it's baseball
and the strategy and all that, but there's a level
of disrespect when you walk the guy ahead of you
to get to somebody else. I don't care what it is.
Always we saw it last year, you know, they did
(13:15):
it and Mooki hit a home run. And we saw
it with Freddy where they walked Mooki and Freddie hit
a home run. We see it all the time. So
it's it's still that level of disrespect. But I think
they gotta start. Teams are gonna start, but that's the
hard part. They can't do it. They gonna, I was
gonna say they start. They gotta have to start treating
Otani like bonds, right where if the bases, if it's
(13:37):
a base open or there's nobody on first, we're walking him, okay,
walk the walk them. But the problem is Bons didn't
have Mookie Bets hitting behind him and Freddy Freeman hitting
behind him. That is the problem. They could do that
with Barry Bonds. But an yourself out.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Walk O Tony every time, go ahead, start the game,
walking him, no problem.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, because he's gonna steal second and then then then
it's gonna be one nothing because Mooki or Freddie's gonna
drive the run in.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Why don't you do this? Why don't you just take
care of the problem right off the top. Now it's
it's highly unusual, probably never done before. But in every
inning that Otani leaves off, why don't you just walk
O Tani and Moki walk walk them.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Both, start first and second. If if he's leading off Dannings,
walk both of them.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Walk them both. Now you don't have to deal with him.
What happens when Freddy comes back? Well, Freddy's not back.
How about Ti Oscar go ahead, walk walk O Tony
and Mooki go ahead because it'll get a lot easier
from there. So don't even worry about it. Put those
guys on because we don't. Tiascar can't hit his half size.
Oh we can't.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Sorry that wasta? Oh yeah, and then Will Smith's coming up.
I forgot yeah, and Tommy Edmund can hit. Uh you know,
go ahead, walk, Why don't you walk? Everybody? Just keep
walking people. Yeah, I'm seeing Conforto's starting to hit it. Yeah,
walk somebody to get to him. Now, yeah, the condo
(15:11):
up there, you can't, can't, and you really want to.
We want to do all that to get to to
big moment. Keik Hernandez too. Okay, put Kik in that situation,
all right. He almost ended the game with a bomb,
he too, and we just went foul.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
You could you know what, it might be more advantageous
really if the Dodgers are just blowing somebody out to
just start walking everybody and then try to pitch to
a select two or three guys.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Just do that.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Just give up single runs at a time, keep walking people.
Then you're not gonna have to give up this big bomb.
You know, find where you think the weakness in the
lineup is and pitch that guy. But there is no
weakness in the lineup. You can't that that. That's why
every time they hit the ball and score. I start laughing, Yeah, hey, Monsey,
(16:05):
Munsey the other and I couldn't even It was like,
what are you looking at?
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Max?
Speaker 1 (16:11):
When he went up there? When he went up there
Rodney late in the game, and I know he didn't
look good earlier in the game. He went out there
and I said, Oh, he's gonna hit it.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Not a problem. I knew that moment, in that moment,
absolutely he would hit it. And he had he couldn't
hit his hat size earlier.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
I knew he would hit it in that moment, not
a problem, and he hit it.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Isn't that amazing? Isn't that crazy? Yes? I mean as
crazy and as great a season as it was last year.
This might be better. This year might be better. So far,
so far it is. But then you then you, I
mean we haven't even talked about the staff and and
just throw out I think, you know, throw out the
(16:55):
game with my guy, because it was an aberration for
for them to get fire. I've run with no you know,
no Urn runs off Blake. I mean, he's only going
to get better. Dustin May. His stuff is ridiculous right now.
And you know you got Yamamoto going tonight. Tyler Glass
now I mean, that's what you gotta contend with, you
(17:17):
the other teams. Not only we got to score runs,
we got to score runs offensively. But man, how do
we do that when we got to go up against
the staff and then bring in that bullpen has been outstanding,
Yates and Banda and you know, Trying and all those guys.
It's just they they're from top to bottom. It doesn't
matter who they run out there. They've just got quality guys.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
And remember Freddie Freeman's not on the line up. Yeah,
he's on the injured list now. He suffered the injury.
And I talked about it the other day, Rodney that
probably people suffer an awful lot, but nobody wants to
admit he slipped in the shower. Yeah, And as much
as you want a giggle, chuckle or find it amusing,
let me tell you something. People fall in the shower
(18:03):
and slip all the time, all the time.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
And he said it too, He said, listen, when when
nothing's bothering you, you slip in the shower, you slip anywhere,
it's just it's just a slip. But when you're dealing
with a bad ankle from the year before, and it's tender,
and you know, you know you it always finds you
if you gotta you know, you got a jam finger,
you know, opening your car door, You're gonna it's automatic.
(18:30):
You're gonna jam your finger opening the car, something simple
that you do every day. It's it's gonna find the
injury or the weakness that you have. And it found
him slipping in the shower. You could have slipped on
his other foot, but he didn't. You know. It's all
those things that that just happened when you happen to
have a certain injury. So, yeah, they don't have him yet.
(18:51):
They don't need him right now. They can afford to
rest him and get in put him on on il
for a minute. I think it's fair to say he
is one of their key hitters. Is that.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Okay, he's not playing and they're unbeaten. He's not playing
and they're unbeaten. What if he wasn't playing on another
team one of their key hitters. How big of a
loss would that be?
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Enormous? It'd be enormous.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Here, well, listen, just take your time. There's no rush.
We want you one hundred percent healthy. Don't push it, Yeah,
don't push it. We don't need you to rush back.
We need you to get really healthy because we're going
to continue to win and Kik will hold it down
while you're gone.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
We got it, We're good, we got it, we got it.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Just think about that if you're a fan. I think
Jonah said it yesterday. What a magical time.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Just think about it. Well, we can sit here and win.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Freddy's out, okay, Maybe he'll be back in ten days,
maybe a month, okay, because when he comes back, it's
like you just traded for an All star. He's back
in the lineup. It really is remarkable. But to be fair, Rodney, Yes,
all is not good with the Dodgers. All is not good, Ronnie,
(20:13):
just roll.
Speaker 2 (20:14):

Yes, there is one bit of controversy surrounding the Dodgers,
and we will talk about that next.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Yeah, come on, it's Friday. You know what happens. That's right,
it's Friday. It's a quick We don't care today though,
A one hour spread, we don't care. Fifty years at
full speed.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
The Accurate Grand Prix Long Beach celebrates its fiftieth anniversary
next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April eleventh to the thirteenth.
Tickets at GPLB dot com. So everything going full cylinder
for the Dodgers except one thing. One thing, and I
think you know what That one thing is better controversy,
(21:40):
and that involves Swaggy the wolf Dog.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Now have you seen Swaggy the wolf Dog? I have? Actually,
all right, and why don't you just talk about how
you feel about Swaggy the wolf Dog and I'll get
to the story. First of all, I'm a dog lover
me too. Swaggy's got a lot of swag, I should say.
And if you've ever seen or come in contact with
(22:10):
Swaggy you'll understand what I mean. Swaggy's got his own movements,
Swaggy's got his own demeanor. Swaggy the wolf Dog. They
kind him woof yeah, swagged the wolf Dog is is
is legendary. Fred is legendary. Why are we messing with Swaggy?
(22:31):
What's a good point? So, uh, Swaggy, where's a pair
of sunglasses. Uh what does he looks like? A shepherd?
It's a shepherd, kind of a shepherd, kind of a husky,
kind of a you know, it's kind of an all
in one right, kind of an old one. And uh,
the guy that owns uh remember the remember the remember
the cartoon where they you know where they where they
(22:53):
went to They went to work, and then the one
dog hated the other dog and they fought all day
at work, and then they got off working. They were friends. Cartoon.
So Swaggy Man.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
When he drives around in like a little mini Tesla truck.
It's like a little mini Tesla truck you could buy
for your kids. Uh, and his owner uh drives around Swaggerman.
And what they do is they drive around and everybody
loves Swaggy and everybody yells hey Swaggy, and Swaggy makes
(23:29):
everybody feel good.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Swaggy is just a cool dude.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
But the problem was, and by the way, Swaggy has
a lot of followers on social media, yeah it does.
Here here's the problem. Here's a problem.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Swaggerman decided that he was going to take a Swaggy
wolf dog in the little miniature Tesla cyber truck okay,
and drive it through the parking lot of Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Okay, okay, Well that caused some concern.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
I mean, you can't have with all those cars people moving,
this little cyber toy truck driving around with Swaggy wolf
Dog and Swaggerman. I mean it's dangerous quite frankly. First
a car could run into what, second it could run
into a person. It just wasn't It wasn't wise. Now,
(24:24):
they drove around because they wanted everybody to have a
good time, and everybody loves Swaggy. Well apparently Dodger security
didn't quite feel the same way.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
And I get that.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
By the way, you should not have that'd be like
a little kid in a toy truck driving around or
a little car.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yeah, yeah, a little bit. You know, Swaggy got a
little you know, husky driving a little Tesla mini Tesla
driving around the stadium and people are on edge anyway
getting into the stadium. Bread, So you're trying to get there.
It's always been you know, it's always traffic, and now
(25:00):
you have to give way to Swaggy.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
I'm sure people complain, Yeah, they complain. Now, some people
loved it because that's how people are. Yay, Swaggy, you know,
give it up that kind of thing. On the other hand,
it was a bit concerning. So security came up and said,
you're gonna have to go, and according to Swaggerman, they said,
we're going to have to impound your car. And Schwagerman said,
(25:23):
why are you impounding a car for seven year olds?
Speaker 2 (25:27):
You can't you can't take the car. I will go,
I will go.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
So Swaggerman and Swaggy wolf Dog left and now they
say they've been banned from Dodger Stadium for life and
for life, that's what Swaggerman said. Life, I'm out, and
it's hard because I grew up a Dodger fan. Well,
then you probably shouldn't be driving a truck for a
seven year old into the parking lot because if anybody
(25:55):
else did, they would take that thing immediately.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, I get I get that. Swaggy
the wolf Dog is a celebrity, now, I get all that,
you know, and Swagman, Swaggy Man, whatever you wanna call himself.
You know, it probably has fed off of that a lot,
and his ego has kind of grown over over a
(26:18):
period of time. But you can't. You can't cross the
line and think nobody's gonna say anything, because it is.
It is dangerous and it is a hazard. And I
always say this, Fred, you gotta know your limitations. You
gotta know them. You gotta know what you can do
and what you can't do. I mean, if you're gonna
(26:39):
want to do that, then you state something. Then maybe
you should call the Dodgers and let them know beforehand. Hey,
I'm coming in with Swaggy and we're gonna ride through
gatebe and we just want to let you know about it.
Around six oh five, we're gonna arrive and we're gonna
we're gonna come through it and try to film that.
So just be ready, a security ready for us. And
(27:02):
then maybe the Dodgers say yes, maybe they say no.
But when you catch them off guard and they do
this and probably call it all kinds of traffic dams,
and you gotta go sorry. Sorry, Swaggy. I like the swag.
I like the chains around your neck. I like the
jerseys that you wear and the sunglasses that you wear,
all of those things. It's cool, but we can't have
you here at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
I think Swaggy Wolf dog was actually pissed about it.
I think the wolf dog was upset that it was
kicked out of Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
By the way.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Some people thought it was great. Some people thought it
was terrific. Some people thought this is wonderful, just wonderful
that we can take pictures. No, you can't do that,
you really can't. And I think you make a valid point.
You know, you call the Dodgers, you talk to them.
You go, look, everybody loves Slaggy. We're gonna bring Swaggy down.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
At six'. Ten we'll be driving around in this little.
Area people will take.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Pictures maybe they would say, no BUT i got to tell,
you they, go, oh that'd be pretty.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Cool people like. That, yeah and it's more.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Exposure it's more social media for. Us it's, great just
another part of the. Game but, yeah the way he did,
it that was. Tough that was.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Tough. Yeah so he basically left The dodgers with no
choice in the. Matter because if you let him drive
around in a little, track because somebody else with a
gimmick's going to try to do something, Too so you
let him do. It, WHY i, mean, yeah, YEAH i
got a Bear i'm bringing in. There you, go you
got a dancy. Bear somebody's bringing you, know Threeque shetland
(28:36):
Pony cobra's coming in, there you, know slithering through the.
Parking he knows what comes next from. That you can't
you can't start that because it's a slippery.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Slope, Okay lakers last, night well that actually meant, Something
that actually meant. Something they lose To Golden. State look was.
Awful he openly admitted. It he had, nineteen BUT i
mean he couldn't hit a. Three he. Wasn't he didn't
have a great. Game and what happened was they got
so far. Behind they tried to make a game of.
(29:07):
It they tried to come, Back they, battled but they
came up, short and in doing, so that could be
a preview of a four or five playoff. Matchup they
just ran out of. Gas they didn't have enough. Time
they were so far. Behind and, okay that. Happened what
did that game tell?
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Me that told? Me With Jimmy Butler Golden, State i'm
not saying.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
He can win, it But i'll tell you what if
they can't win, it they can make your life.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Miserable yes they, Can yes they. Can and the more
games he plays with, them the better they've. Gotten and
INITIALLY i didn't know if it was gonna. Work you,
know Jim jimmy's his own. Man right everywhere he's, gone
he's kind of worn out as welcome Or welcome has
been worn, out and he just wanted to get. Out
(29:57):
and you, know but he's now at a place where
he he's not the, guy he's not the, franchise he's
not the go. To and, again as they lead up
into the, playoffs they become a very scary, team Meaning Golden.
State and is that a team that you want to
see in the first round that you have to, battle
(30:19):
because that will be a, battle that will be a
battle all the way. Through and do you want to see?
THEM i don't know if anybody really wants to See Golden.
State first of, all with the addition Of Jimmy butler
and then the way they can play, defense and then
all of a, sudden you've got also you've Got Steph
curry that can go off and beat you at any.
Time if the game is, close then you're scared down
(30:39):
the stretch Because steph can hit three threes in a
row and beat. You but with the addition Of. Jimmy
it makes it and makes it. Difficult is? That are
you more concerned now what The lakers as they enter
into the playoffs knowing That Golden state's they coming now
as opposed to. Before? Yeah, ABSOLUTELY i am one hundred.
(31:02):
PERCENT i. Am to, me that looked pretty good last.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Night and it's funny because earlier in the year before the,
trade you think, back you, thought, oh.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
These guys got no, shot no. SHOT i, mean they Got.
Raymond draymond can't do anything offensively. Anymore he's not quite
the defender he, was uh where where he was locked.
Down he's still pretty, good but still not. There he
gave you a little bit, offensively but but now you're, like,
no they can't get away with Just draymond and stuff.
(31:32):
Anymore AND i, mean you, know what are they gonna?
Do but the addition Of, jimmy it gave him, life
is what it. Did it gave him a lot of
life and a belief that they can go. DEEP i
think that's the. Key and you know, WHAT i think
it gave the other players on the team a. Belief
they looked like an entirely different, team all of.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Them they're playing, differently and maybe his NET kaleti would, say,
look who just walks through the. Door, Everybody, Yeah and
they looked at each other and, said, hell we got
a shot, Here, yeah we're. Back and maybe it was
that simple because they looked like a very different team
and explosive and.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Quick. Yeah and when you have a team like that
that is and they have enough guys that have tasted
winning in championships and the key guys have and you
get somebody like that that walks through the door and you're, like, ooh,
yeah they gave him, Life red gave him a lot of. Life.
YEAH i think that would be a concerning first round
(32:37):
matchup for The.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Lakers i'm not saying The lakers couldn't beat them in seven,
games BUT i think that would be. CONCERNING i don't
think that's a walk over by any stretch of the.
Imagination and a series like that might go. Seven, Yeah
i'll tell you, This i'd be shocked if it. Didn't
i'll tell you. This it would only go seven if
(33:01):
The lakers had a chance to. Win it would not
go seven if it was The warriors. Winning the only
way that goes seven is if The lakers have a
chance to. Win but if The warriors come out and you,
know win the first one and then come back and
take the next. Two it will not go. Seven the
only shot going seven as The lakers are in it
(33:23):
with a chance to. Win Otherwise Golden state would win.
It that's WHAT i.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Think BUT i think The lakers could beat them in seven. Games,
YEAH i think so. Too so many guys got to
play well for The lakers. Though, yeah that's the.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Key and since it's only an hour, today let me
let me give a plug out to The. Kings they
Beat utah last. Night they are they're hanging, In they're hanging.
On they're still seated ahead Of. Edmonton and remember home
ie advantage means everything for The. Kings they they are
basically unbeatable at. Home so if they have homelice advantage
(33:57):
and they Play edmonton in the, playoffs and it looks
like they, will they will beat The oilers this. Year
and the true test will come tomorrow because tomorrow at The,
Crypt edmonton will be in.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Town, oh your, Team, fred you love Some? Edmonton is there?
Another is there another team in sports that you hate
more Than? Edmonton and in all of sports that you
hate more Than? Edmonton fair.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
And CONSIDERING i don't hate any teams in, sports the
answer is, yes there is no team THAT i hate
more Than, edmonton BECAUSE i don't hate any.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
Team BUT i don't Like. EDMONTON i don't like them one.
Bit i'm.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
SORRY i, mean we don't need to bulty of.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Reasons why you don't have to be. Sorry this this
runs deep with. You i've known, you and this runs
deep with. You and how far does it go back with? You, Though,
FRED i guess that's the. Question years it goes? Back,
years it. Doesn't my problem With edmonton is This connor.
McDavid one of the great stars of the. Game is
(35:07):
He Wayne?
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Gretzky? No BUT i mean is he Like Wayne? Gretzky
sure he. Is he's that kind of. Player he's that.
Good he is a mega. Superstar he is that. Good
and my problem with him is that he's. Dirty stars
(35:29):
don't play like he. Does they don't cheap shot.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
People they.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Don't stars don't do. That and nobody does that to
the stars because if they, do there's four guys are
gonna pound the hell out of.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Them because when the star is on.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
The, ice he's got protection because you, know you can't
lose the, star and especially someone like. Him AND i
guess he plays the game hard that has to be,
respected and he doesn't back down from anybody that has
to be.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Respected but you, know if you want.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
To play the way he does and you want to give,
it then everybody better understand when you get it.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Back do you ever.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Notice when the star goes in the, corner two guys
don't skate in and ram him into the?
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Boards you ever notice that they might hit the? Star
they really, do but they don't ram him like They
you ever noticed? That never ever see what is the
star get hit in the face with a high? Stick
not very? Often, yeah WHEN I, vi you never you
never Saw gretzky get lit? Up or you never Saw
Sidney crosby get lit? Up? No you, know well Maybe
(36:41):
messy Because messi like to mix it up a little
bit back in the. Day. Yeah Well messi was a crazy,
man but you knew that about. Him but most of
the stars you're not. Getting, yeah you're not getting drilled into.
Boards you don't get close to.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Him, yeah you put a body on, him of, course
but you're not Gonna you're not going to take those guys.
Out you're just not going to do. It and by the,
way they're not going to take you out. Either they're the.
Star there's some. Respect you're playing the.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Game you play.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Hard but you, Know gretzky wasn't going one hundred miles
an hour and crashing somebody into the. Boards it wasn't
gonna happen because he. Wasn't he wasn't crashed into the.
Boards connor McDavid doesn't. Care connor McDavid will take you
out in a. Heartbeat, Yeah connor McDavid will slash.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Her he's like that. Kid, okay you know do you like?
That like if he was on the king would you
love that about him that he?
Speaker 3 (37:37):
KNOW i?
Speaker 2 (37:37):
WOULD i would not the. Superstar you wouldn't like him Being, no,
no you call him dirty thy people And edmonton would
not call him. Dirty they would call him, aggressive they
would call him. Physical, right you call him. Dirty but
if he was so you're, saying if he was on
The kings and he played that same, STYLE i wouldn't
Like you would not like. IT i would not like.
It you don't want To you don't want your star
(37:58):
being that kind of.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Player, NO i. DON'T i don't because he's too. Good
you don't do. That you just don't do.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
That you know what he's. Like he goes Like Josh.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Rogan When Josh rogan was, young you look At Josh
rogan and you, thought in basketball or, soccer what a
nice little.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Kid you, know he's.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Happy, sure he plays, hard he runs up and down
and the minut at the referee turns his, head he
takes out at the. Knees the minute at the referee
looks the other. Way whoever he's running next, too is going.
Down and when the referee swings his head back and
sees what, Happened josh always, goes, WHAT i.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Don't know what happened? Anything why looking at? Me that?
Speaker 1 (38:40):
Guy he's that, guy He, Josh Josh. Rogan that's how
Jo When josh was a, kid that's exactly what he.
Did AND i would just cringe because you knew he did,
it but the way he did, it and then he
just like what? Me so he was able to do, That,
okay a talented young athlete at the age of, eight
(39:04):
but certainly Not connor, McDavid who doesn't need. That you,
know he's playing like a guy that's fighting and clinging
for a chance to be on the. TEAM i get.
THAT i appreciate that, effort but good, lord he's. Dirty he's,
dirty and you know, what this is the year he
(39:26):
gets his this is the year they get.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Yours, Wow, fred you're not even hesitating on saying. That that's,
like that's one of those fine line things of calling.
SOMEBODY i don't care what sport you're. In you call somebody,
aggressive you call them, physical you call them different. Things
but when you say somebody is, dirty that puts a
whole different spin on, it different light on. It and
(39:50):
you have said this over and over that you feel
like he is a dirty. Player do you think the
other there's other players around the league feel the same
way that they feel he's a dirty player or would?
They would they classify him as he's uber aggressive and
physical and obviously very very, talented best player in the,
(40:11):
game but would they classify him as? Dirty do you
think other players would classify him as? Dirty behind closed?
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Doors because that's when the real conversation Is, yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Fifty years at full.
Speaker 1 (40:33):

Speaker 1 (41:52):
