Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ah, there we go Fred Rogan or Rodney Pete on
a five to seventy LA Sports, a one hour show.
Today it's the Sprint because we have the Dodgers in
Miami taking on the Marlins. Three forties. When that'll get underway,
so we'll do an hour. Petro some money, he'll jump on,
lead you into the pregame show and then the call
of the game.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
How about that? Just switch to Doctor Ordered Fred the Marlins,
the Marlins. There you go, the Marlins. We love the Marlins.
You know.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
I read the most fascinating thing about the Marlins Clayton McCollough,
obviously now the manager who was the first base coach
for the Dodgers for years. Yes, yes, he was a
guy that when everybody was wearing masks during that COVID
period of time, he'd sneak up behind somebody and talk
to them, the base runners at first base, and he
looked really creepy. Yeah, And I used to say, my god,

(00:46):
that guy looks creepy. Well, now he's the manager of
the Marlins. He's not creepy, by the way. And I
read an article and I think you guys might have
talked about it when I was off about how the
Marlins are trying to change the way baseball does things,
but the way they work out, the way they train,
and Clayton McCullough was the minor league field coordinator for
the Dodgers before he became the first base coach, so

(01:08):
he is very focused, as is Andrew Friedman. I mean,
they're kind of in lockstep about trying to innovate, trying
to change, and it's going to take a while because
they obviously don't have a lot of money down there
in Miami, but they're going to try to build it differently.
But when you have a team like the Dodgers come in,
you know the building process is going to be slowed

(01:28):
a bit because the Dodgers have bonafid big league players
and the Marlins are trying to create a new way
to develop players. So that's really what happened last night
in Miami, and we'll probably continue in these next quarts.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Why do you think, why do you think? Why do
you think? Fred? I mean, we only own up in
an hour, but why do you why do you think
that Florida baseball does not resonate? That's a great question,
you know, Yeah, and even even Arizona I mean, the
Diamondbacks got to be winning their contenders, so people show up.

(02:02):
But even if they're contenders, they're only they're still only
getting what twenty twenty something thousand at Chase Field. Yeah,
but I'm wondering why Arizona at Florida doesn't resonate with
baseball fans given the spring trainings are all there.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
That's and you would think because of spring training, those
would be baseball hotbeds. I think in Miami, maybe there's
too many games. I think that could be an issue, right,
there's too many games, and despite the fact that Miami
is ultra glamorous and a great place to hang out overall,

(02:40):
I don't know how much money is there for people,
the average person to go to games. I think that's
an issue as well. And for whatever reason, it just
doesn't translate long term, regular season a regular season schedule
in Florida. I mean, look at the look at Lord Bay.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, there were to Miami. Yeah, they're getting twelve thousand
people I think at games. Yeah, and that's I think
that's the issue because you would think, my god, I
want to be down there. I mean, certainly the Heat
sell out, the Dolphins sell out, and even the Florida Panthers, right,
hockey sells out, they sell out. Baseball just doesn't translate

(03:23):
in in Arizona. You nailed it.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
If you talk to the people that run the Diamondbacks,
they will tell you twenty five thousand, twenty five thousand,
that's what it is. It's twenty five thousand. And it
doesn't matter they close the dome, it's twenty five thousand.
It's twenty five thousand. Now they if they start to win,
sure you're going to have more people. And as the

(03:47):
season progresses, if you're getting close to the playoffs, yeah,
people are going to show up. It doesn't It's twenty
five thousand, no matter how you slice it and dice it.
And it's very odd because you would think those two states,
given spring training, would just kill.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
It right right right. And do you think maybe I
don't know, I don't know, because you know this from
you know spending time in Arizona as well, that there's
a lot of people that come there in the wintertime,
and so maybe spring training get you get a false
sense of what reality is because so many people come

(04:24):
from around the country to go and spend time in
the winter in Arizona. And that's where the love and
spring training or they're following their teams, and then by
the time the season starts, they all leave and go
back to their respective states. And maybe the same thing
with Florida. Everybody travels down to Florida for the winter,
and they're there for spring training. But here it comes

(04:46):
into February March, everybody goes back home New Jersey and
Connecticut and wherever they're they're going. But I just don't
I don't get why both Tampa Bay, Florida, and even
Arizona to a certain extent, don't get the traction that
some of the other cities get well.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
And Arizona's considered Phoenix is now a big market. Yes,
it's not a medium sized market anymore. It is considered
a big market.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Now Tampa is considered a small market, and Miami is
considered sort of a medium market. And it gets me
to thinking maybe the markets just don't support baseball.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Maybe because you look at it like that, Like you said,
the Dolphins do well, the heat even in Tapa the Bucks.
The Bucks sell out every game, yep, but there there
aren't as many games, true, true, true, And Tampa Bay Lightning,
I mean they they sell out. Oh yeah, so it's

(05:47):
just weird. It's weird that it doesn't doesn't happen in
those states.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Well, look at Phoenix for a second. Okay, so you
have the Cardinals. I don't know if they sell out,
to be honest with you, I don't.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Think they sell out, but I think they have started
to get really good crowds. Really. I mean, I think
over the last ten, twelve, fifteen years, they they've done it.
Since they built that dome, it's been better, a lot better.
And with the Cardinals again, it goes back to your
point of not as many games. So you got eight game,

(06:20):
nine games a season. You know they're going to get
the people there, all.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Right, So they're better, but they don't. I don't think
they sell out, but they're better. Suns are close to
sold out.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Right, Sons still still get a good crowd right whenever
they're playing.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Suns the original professional sports franchise in Phoenix, so they're close.
The Coyotes, the hockey team left. Yeah, Now there was
a dispute with the owner and then they weren't paying
their money for the arena in Glendale. And I've never
heard of this before, but the Glendale Arena just kicked
them out, and then they moved to play at Arizona

(06:56):
State where it sat five thousand people. And then in
the Most is Our development, the owners of the Coyotes said,
here's what we're gonna do. We are going to build
our own facility. We will spend the money. I don't
want anything from you, nothing, Rottney. I'll take care of it.
All I need is this land right here. If the

(07:17):
voters vote, we can have the land. We'll take care
of it. We'll take care of it, and you know
it'll do it. And you know what we're gonna do.
We're gonna build an entertainment area around it and people
will come and it'll you know, generate tax revenue. We
got it. It's not a big deal. We got it.
And the people hated him so much. They voted no, No.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
We don't want you here anymore. No, and I have
never heard of that. We'll pay for everything.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Just give me that land right there, we'll take care
of you.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
No.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
So they left. So they didn't support hockey. I guess
they hated the owners. They sell out basically for the Suns,
their for the Cardinals. And it's twenty five thousand for
the Diamondbacks. Yeah, you would think it would be better
than that in Phoenix. You would think it would be,

(08:10):
but it's not.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Yeah, and you almost kind of understand a little bit
with uh, maybe with the with the Marlins because it
is Miami, and Miami is similar to La New York
kind of thing where there's so much to do, there's
the beach, there's all of that, And if the Marlins
are not competitive, then people are not going to show up.
You know. It's like some of the other teams. And

(08:32):
you know around around LA if you're not competitive, UCLA
is not competitive, no one's going you know, So there
might be something to that. But the Marlins, they they
had won a couple of titles, they had been and
Tampa Bay is usually competitive and they went to a

(08:52):
World Series not too long ago, and people still don't
show up. But you're right about the Diamondbacks. They have
to be competitive and be in that mix otherwise at
twenty five goes down to twelve thousand. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah, And with the Marlins, it's a self fulfilling prophecy.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Here's the problem.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
They do not have the ability to generate the kind
of television revenue that you have in LA. And quite frankly,
they don't have the ability to generate the kind of
big time sponsorship revenue that you have in LA. So
they don't have as much money as the Dodgers or
even the Angels have. Yeah, Or that being said, if

(09:32):
you don't have as much, then you don't invest as much.
And if you don't invest as much, then the product
isn't very good. So it's this odd situation where you
cannot get out of this. So what they're doing is
they're developing the Tampa Bay model. We don't have as
much money, we understand that, so we've got to do

(09:55):
it like this. We'll build the infrastructure. So they are
investing in infrastructure, right, They're investing behind the scenes so
that they can start generating the kind of players that
will be competitive at the big league level. That's what
they're not gonna happen. They're never gonna have a big payroll.
They're never gonna have and when they do have a superstar,
he's probably going to be gone on that next contract

(10:17):
question at Christian Yelige, Jen Carlo, Stanton Ozuna, all those
guys left that were down there, Imagine that that was
the outfield in Miami. At one point, Christian Yelige, Jan
Carlo Stanton and Ozuna who's now with the Braves, was
their outfield and they're all they're all, they're all gone.

(10:37):
Would they be better served you think moving to Orlando
one of those teams, it's a little bit different, you
know what. I don't know if Orlando supports it. You
have Disney World there, well, you have those kinds of
things there, So I don't even know if if Orlando
will do a better job. I think those franchises have

(10:57):
to become the model for any small market to build
and be competitive. Tampa Bay can do it, yeah, I
mean they're not gonna win. They're not gonna win a
World Series probably, but they could get close and they
can be in it. I think Miami can do the
same thing. But that doesn't happen overnight. At least they
have a plan there now, they have something to follow

(11:20):
instead of just onwing darts on a board or taking
shots in the dark, right, they've got to stick to
their plan. And their plan is we're going to scout
and develop. We're gonna be really shrewd. We're gonna come
up with new ways to do things, and then we're
gonna have a competitive team on the field. The team
won't cost as much. Therefore, maybe your tickets won't cost

(11:44):
as much. Right, our expenses won't be as high. Okay,
now maybe we get more people in there. I'll tell
you where it'll sell out every night. I'll tell you
the market. I would want to be in Memphis. That
would not be accurate. I would not want to be
in Memphis. As a matter of fact. I think if
you were in Memphis, you'd walk around.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
The duck all the time. I'm not saying Memphis side
go Leia. Memphis is taking the crown for being the
most crime Yeah, O my god. Yeah, but now Memphis
that good. You're in the right state. Are you saying Nashville?
Then Nashville is the winner? Yeah, Nashville.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
I'd want to be in Nashville. Nashville will baseball will
kill in Nashville. I'll tell you I agree with that. Yeah,
I'll tell you what. It's not gonna do as well
as they think Vegas.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Vegas. You don't think so I was gonna do better
than it did in Oakland. Yeah, but summer summertime in Vegas,
I don't see that if that good, it will be
better than it was in Oakland, because my god, if
we played at Pierce College would be better than it
was in Oakland. They better have night clubs and all
the things, all the gimmicks in Vegas in that stadium

(12:54):
to get people there, because you're right, summertime in Vegas,
and first, you know it's got to be it's got
to be a local. But people don't travel to Vegas
as much in the summertime. And are the locals really
going to support that in the summertime going to baseball
games at one o'clock when it's one hundred and twenty

(13:16):
in Vegas, even though the stadium is indoors and will
be covered.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Well, let me ask you this, Do the locals have
the money to support it? Obviously from a sponsorship for
the question, yeah, I mean a sponsorship perspective.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Sure, they'll sell it out. They'll sell off to suitets
and all those will be sold right because the hotels
are going to use those in the casino entertain people. Yeah,
so that'll be done, but there'll be nobody in the stands.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
I think that's going to be what's interesting. The winner
will be Nashville, whoever gets Nashville and baseball. That's the
gold star that will work. That's the big one. So
the Dodgers did beat the marl in seven to four.
Freddie Freemant of three run homer and Kim the second basement.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
How about that got a couple of heads, I Sun Kim, Oh, Man,
he's making the most. I love this when you get
an opportunity, right, because he took a lot of flat
coming over here, and he all talked about, you know,
he's he's a great fielder, defense player, got tremendous speed
as we saw the other night. But he can handle

(14:23):
big league pitching, right, That was a question, and he
struggled in spring training. He could not handle the big
league pitching, was not able to adjust to it, and
so he did not start with the big league club.
But man being called up and you talk about taking
advantage of the opportunity, he absolutely is. And I'm rooting

(14:43):
for him to continue this because he's exciting to watch
fred something that the Dodgers, you know, really from that perspective,
haven't had in a while. Yes, Otani stole fifty bases
and all that, but he you know, he's a freak
of nature, kind of athlete and hits and does everything.

(15:03):
But this kid that can get on the bases and
be electric like he is, that is a weapon. That
is a true weapon that I'm sure you hear Dave Roberts.
You hear date Dave Roberts talk about him in some
of the interviews so far. You know, it's almost like
he is he's like the cat that swallowed the canary.
He's like, oh my god, we got we got something

(15:25):
special with this kid. Man. We gotta find a way
to keep him involved. But he is. He is fun
to watch and isn't that odd if you think about it.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Just think about this, You know, if you go to
an NBA game, like him or not, Lebron is fun
to watch. He is fun to watch. Okay, in hockey,
hate the guy, hate his guts. Connor McDavid, he is
fun to watch. He really is fun to watch. So
there are guys in those types of sports that are

(15:59):
fun to watch. Yeah, when do you ever go, you
know that baseball player he's fun to watch. That doesn't
happen very often. You don't go that guy's fun to
watch in baseball. But you're right, there's something about Kim
There is just something about him. Maybe the way he moves.
We know his speed, we know he's a wizard defensively,

(16:23):
but you can't stop watching him, right. I can't figure
out why that is because it's very unusual. Ohtani is
a superstar, he's a megastaris. You said he's a freaking nature.
But that doesn't mean you can't stop watching him. You
just know he's great. This guy, this little guy from Korea.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah, you can look forward to him. You want the
ball hit to him? You think about that. Oh, if
you're going to hit it, hit it to him. That's
the guy I want to see do something. If anybody
has to be on base, let it be him, because
he'll do something. And we've only seen him play like
two games. Once he was a pinch runner and he

(17:06):
on the one he played, they got two hits. This
was great.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
I mean in the first game where he was the
pinch runner, do you remember he was on second base. Yeah,
and he got the third and he just went, you know,
there was a ball.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
It was hit and he just went, yeah, it was
actually a strikeout right, they got it got away from
the catcher. Will Smith kind of you know, he hesitated
for a minute and then ran the first, so the
catcher was caught between. Okay, I got to throw the
first to get will Smith out, but I am I watching,
you know, Kim at second base? What is he gonna do?

(17:44):
And Kim was jockeying back and forth. As soon as
the catcher made to throw the first, he went was
gone and got the third base. And he got the
third base with one out, so which was a big
deal because now a fly ball to the outfield scoresman
ties that So that was a big moment for him
to get the third base with less than two outs.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
And he did that, and he made that decision. Yeah,
I can assure you as I watched.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Didn't say anything. I looked at Dino's face.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
They took a tight shot, and then they took a
shot at Dave Roberts, and I think they were both like,
oh my god.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, what are you doing? Yeah? What are you doing?
I don't think either one of.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Them would have said run no, because if they get
him at third, they've just taken out the Rover. Yeah,
but he just had this instinct to go.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
And I swear, if you can go back and look
at Dino Evil's face, Oh god, what it's like he
wanted to strangle him and.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Say what did you do? But he was safe.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Right, that's the kind of guy he is. Is that
apparently that's the kind of player he is.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah, he's exciting. He's fun to watch, man, he really is.
He really is. Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
The So that was great news, but the Dodgers got
some unfortunate news.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Tayo has to have an MRI and his hamstring. Okay,
okay now now now, as a kid, say, the s
is getting real. It's getting real now because he may
need some rest, that's okay, and better now than later.
But he's you know, he's going to have that MRI.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Now. You have Edmund already on the injured list. Yeah,
and this is why you got a guy like Michael Conforto,
which is why he's got to come through. He's got
to start turning it around now, because when you lose
Edmund and you lose Tayo, who's your left fielder. Uh,
you gotta have the guy that you brought in as

(19:50):
a free agent be able to come through for you
in these situations. So, and I know he's been struggling,
but man, this is why you brought in a guy
like that. A veteran guy that can serve as a
legitimate bat at the plate. I mean, obviously he plays,
he plays good defense, but he's got to start carrying

(20:12):
his weight at the plate.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Laker fans, are you salivating? Are you salivating? Okay? What
if I told you you could have Yannis? Would you
want him? But what do you have to give up
to get him? Let's talk about it next.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
That's right, Home of your World Champion La Dodges. Quick

Forward slash Mother's Day forward details. All right, NBA, we'll
start with this. Clippers number one priority re sign James Harden.

(21:06):
Hold on to James Harden. That's their number one priority.
He's got a player option for thirty six million dollars.
That being said, really where's he going? That means head going, Yeah,
where's he? No one's gonna pay him thirty six million dollars.
So maybe if he opts out and they give him
a little more, that's fine. He's not going anywhere. Who's
paying James Harden more than thirty six million dollars?

Speaker 2 (21:28):
You think behind the scenes, they're you know, hoping that
he opts out and hey, we can't pay you, David.
Go ahead, opt out, opt out, James, please, James, opt out,
opt out, opt out, opt out. Oh you opt out. Okay,
Let's see what we can do, Jane. Let's see if
we can we can up that the forty maybe or whatever.
Jame's not in the budget. No, you know, we'll do.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Good news, James, I got good news. D opped it out. Yeah,
we'll give you two for sixty. Hey, there you go.
I'll give you two for sixty now and creative. Yeah,
and you know what you got. You got sixty million.
You retire after that and you know okay, so you
know it's from thirty six million to thirty million a year, okay,

(22:12):
but you guarantee two of that, So you got sixty
had a bad deal.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
How about this. Don't even say thank you. We'll just
tell you this. You're welcome. That's the kind of guy
you go here. That's the kind of guys we are.
Let me ask you this, would you take that deal
if you're in, If you're like James Harden sitting here
after this series right now, given you know you've kind
of been able to pick and choose your spots that

(22:38):
he wanted to go to over the last three years,
three teams. Basically, you got an opportunity to sign a
opt out side a two year extension for sixty million
as opposed to doing a one year for thirty six.
Are you doing that deal? Me?

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Yeah, get the paperwork over here, do it? Get the
paperwork over here right now. I'm signing this second, this second. Look,
James Harden had a terrific regular season. We also know
now because we've seen it again. Once you've seen the
movie and it has the same ending, you can't expect
a different ending. I mean, this year at the ending

(23:16):
could have been different. Ooh, the plot line and the writing,
and you're thinking, this is the year. It's gonna change
a game seven of the playoffs he played like playoff
James Harden. So that's it. Give me two years, give
me sixty call of a day. If you opt out
and you want more than you're gone, right, You're gone.

(23:37):
Let somebody else pay it. But no, and nobody else
is paying him. You know who's gonna pay that pay
You know what, We don't need to pay you forty
million a year for you to collapse into playoffs that
won't be necessary, so we're not doing it.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah. I'm taking that deal all day long too, That's
what I'm saying. You know, I got sixty million, I
got guaranteed sixty million, as opposed to after this one
year of thirty six, I don't know where I'll be
and probably no one's paying me thirty million for the
following year. I gotta go, and I gotta go scramble
for another team, you know. I mean, I be lucky

(24:09):
to get fifteen right for the next year, So give
me sixty for two. Yeah, send it over right now.
In fact, I'll pay for the uber to come to
your office.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Okay, So now here we are with the Lakers, think
about this. Okay, Now do you want to play the
name game? But if you do, what are you playing
the name game? Guess who could be available? Oh, Yannis,
I think he's had enough.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
I think so too.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Yeah, I think he's had enough. So if he's had enough.
They're obviously not going to hold him hostage. That's not
going to work. They will move him.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
And haven't they said that that we're not going to
move him unless Yiannis comes to us and says he
wants to he wants to be moved, or he wants
to be traded. The Bucks have kind of shown him
that respect to say that we're not going to do this.
We're not going to initiate this, but if Yannis comes
to us, then we will entertain the offers.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Correct, correct, Yeah, Okay, so I think it's safe to
say Yannis is going to let them know. Okay, so
now he's available. You with me, he could be available,
and you know, one of the places he wants to
go he wants to come here. Okay, So now you're saying,

(25:37):
all right, pretty cool, pretty cool. How are we going
to pull this off? Well, here's the thing. He makes
a lot of money and everything's got a match. So basically,
to accomplish something like this, you're going to have to
move everybody. Yep, everybody of consequence is gone. You will
have two players. You'll have Luca Lebron and now Yiannis.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
So that's the team and who else is around, who
else is available? These are gonna be you know, minimum
salary guys, low money guys. Uh, just got to fill
in around him. They tried that. It's very different, but
they tried that with Russell Westbrook. Okay, here's our three guys,

(26:24):
A D Lebron and Russell Westbrook. Now they make all
the money, so we got to fill in around him. Now,
Yannis is different than Russell Westbrook obviously, but it's the
same principle. So no Ruey, no Austin Reeves. Vanderbilt gave Vincent,
but that's the one, right. Austin Reeves is what everybody's

(26:44):
gonna want. But he's gone, he doesn't exist. Oh you
know what.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Okay, he's he's he's been vaporized. Yeah, and you can
look at Ruey Vanderbilt. Okay, that deal, that deal works.
But they got to throw in Austin Reeves and then
you gotta pause, you gotta say, do we where they
want this?

Speaker 1 (26:59):
And they're probably they probably have to throw in the
first round pick. I mean, they got there's a lot
to go and get him. But whatever they give up Rodney,
the reality is you now have three guys on your team, yep,
and find the rest.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Do you like that idea? I do, Freddy, because you've
got the window with Lebron. If it's one two years,

(27:39):
you got you got two years to win one is
the way I look at it. If you do this
with the honest and I know Austin Reeves is a
cornerstone and will is supposed to be a part of
the future along with Luca. But Luca and Austin Reeves,

(28:04):
there's still gotta there's still a lot of work to
be done around those guys to make a championship team.
But you bring Jannison, I think it puts you right
there and the favorites in the West immediately with him, him,

(28:26):
Luca and Lebron absolutely, and you find a you find
a serviceable point guard, ball handler, and then another another
defensive guy. I think you can find the pieces around
those three for sure. So if that's available, and it
and it, and it alleviates one of your issues, which was,

(28:49):
you know, a big in the middle, some inside force,
some sort of rem protection. Not that Giannis is Rudy Gobert,
but he is certainly you know a six' eleven guy
that can protect the rim and also can play inside and.
Outside so, yeah with with the age Of lebron and

(29:12):
this is a you know why you have him? Win,
NOW i would, say, yes you here's my let's say You,
freddy what say? Me here's my.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
CONCERN i only have one because if you want to
look at it on the macro, level you're Trading Austin
reeves For, jianna's, RIGHT i mean that becomes The Lakers Big.
Three so you're you're Swapping Austin reeves For. Riyanna's everybody
would say do. That no one would, say, well don't do. That,

(29:43):
no everybody would say do.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
That.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Okay the problem is you're not just Swapping Austin. Reeves
you are decimating the rest of your. Team, yeah and
that's sort of The Bradley Beal Kevin durant model In, phoenix, Right,
yeah they had three And. Durant, yeah when they got.

(30:07):
BIL i said these guys will never. WIN i said
it on this show the minute that. HAPPENED i, said they're.
Done they can never, win and they can't because they
don't have enough guys around. Them we saw this With Russell.
Westbrook they couldn't find enough guys and also the fit didn't.
Work how do you think they're going to find enough

(30:28):
players to be able to pull this off because using
this this, model every night you're playing three on. FIVE
i don't know about, that, Though.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
FREDDIE i think there's enough guys out there that you
can find another serviceable guard, that, say a, distributor a
guy that can distribute to basketball and also maybe score
a little. BIT A Region rondo type would fit perfect

(31:00):
with those Three, Luca giannis And. Lebron if they could
find someone like that that wouldn't cost you a whole
lot of. MONEY i think you can find that guy
and and make that. Work so you don't need you
don't need that that you know that that point guard
or that ball handler guard because because first of, All

(31:23):
luca and And lebron are going to be ball, dominant
but you definitely need a point guard type in there
as somebody that can also quarterback everything with those big.
Three AND i think there are those guys out, there
LIKE i, said with The Rajon rondo type that's not
going to break the. Bank you can find. That you

(31:44):
can find those.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Guys, okay so let's say we found one of. Those
so now you're, saying, well Now we're. Great that's four.
Guys who are the other? Eight well that's a. Problem
well that's the, concern that's the whole. Problem, yeah we got, Four.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Now we need. Eight who are those?

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Guys Are, Lebron luca And gianni's gonna play forty minutes a?
Night what if somebody gets? Hurt who are the other?
Guys and where do you find enough of them that
can make you? Good because this might be. Shocking, Giannis

(32:23):
luca And lebron they're gonna have off nights and they're
gonna get hurt and they're gonna get. Hurt, Okay well
that's part of the. Game got that right?

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Now Who so you keep Developing Jackson hayes and keep
him in. There, oh keep him, there keep him developing
him as a big guy in, there and he's going
to be cost. Effective and he worked for you and
was serviceable throughout the regular. SEASON i know you didn't
trust him in the in the, postseason but he's a
guy that played a lot of minutes in the regular,

(32:53):
season had had some moments that were pretty, good and
obviously some moments that. Work but he's. Serviceable he's got
some experience behind, him so he's a guy that you
keep in the.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Mix, okay so we're going to keep, Him, yeah why,
not it'd be. Cheap and we're gonna Keep Dalton connect,
too Keep Dalton. Connect, Yes, Okay now we're six in the.
Hole where we gonna find those? GUYS i, mean that's
really what it. Is it's a numbers. Game, yeah our
eyes are really big and this is really exciting and
maybe they'll even do it if. Possible but by your,

(33:28):
count we're six guys, short and we just we're actually
because we found a point guard that we decided to, insert.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Like if you brought, in if you brought in uh
what's his? Name? Uh he was here for a, minute
turned down to big money and went now he's In.
Detroit guy was his? Name Shrewder Dennis. Shruder Dennis shruder
could be a good fit for those. Guys, well who
are our forwards going to? Be? Rodney who ARE i
was going back to that little you, know the point,

(33:57):
guard you know aspect of it and bringing somebody into
got to run the show and be. Serviceable truder would
be a good fit with those. Guys and because he turned,
all you know, down all that, money he getting it.
Again so you could bring him into a situation like, this, Well,
connect but, yeah you don't have anybody else coming off the.
Bench so because you're Saying Austin reaves is gone And

(34:20):
ruey is gone with that trade, Too ruey's Not rue's not,
here And vanderbilt's not.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Here Gave, Vincent they're. Gone everybody's, Gone, okay because that's
what it's going to. Be let me ask you. This
so you Have, giannis and you have lebron and you
Have luca And Dalton connect And Jackson hayes because that's
what you'll actually, have right if you'll and bronniere okay
And bronnie all, right there you. Go do you think

(34:49):
do you think those guys as you watch the? PLAYOFFS
i MEAN i Watched. HOUSTON i Watched houston, loose BUT i,
thought oh my, god these guys are fast and athletic
and only going to get better.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
And talented and.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Young, okay, Right so you got your guys and whoever
else we fill in with Against, Houston houston will run
those guys off the.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Court, yeah your only question is where you make the
playoffs to make that, run because you gotta be able
to play throughout the regular, season and you can't run
these guys into the ground for eighty two games or,
whatever say they play fifty, games which is it would
be a stretch that you get all three to play fifty? Games,

(35:29):
Right so are you even gonna be there to even
make the playoffs if you don't add something to it
because you got to arrest.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Them and again the question, becomes who are those? Guys
and please don't, say, well you, Know Rob polinko will find.
Him guess, what he didn't find them in the. Past
it's the same. Conversation it's this is the exact same.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Conversation and by the, way how did that midseason trade
work out for The? Warriors, yeah that worked pretty well
With Jimmy. Butler. Yeah they they are very dangerous right.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Now you know what watching The, Warriors, Warriors rockets team,
Okase i'll tell you. Something and even The, warriors they're
stop because Of Steph. Curry that's. Why because IF i
could have one older guy in the, league they gotta
take him because it is so wide open and so.

(36:28):
Quick they force, you they force you to play. Defense
they force you to do, it and you can't keep
up with all of.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Them Even Draymond, yeah got. Energy he's giving you energy
jumping down the. Court, yeah you.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Can't there's no way that you can keep up with
all of. Them and then they just start firing from
all over the. Place and your, Boy Buddy, Healed Buddy,
healed he finally got the. Name it finally met's all
the hype around for the last five.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Years Buddy. Healed finally match that name as to why
people were always talking, about bring In Buddy, heal bring
In Buddy. Heel he went for thirty plus and was
the big hero of that that win for The warriors
In game. Seven just one hour for, today so we'll

(38:13):
to give up.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Is an awful.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Lot and you've got to have enough guys to have
a competitive. Roster and then if you look at the landscape,
elsewhere and let's be, honest you're, honest everybody wants.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Them we all. Agree a little long in the, TOOTH
i think that's a nice way to put. It, yeah
a little, bit a little, bit, Yeah, lebron little long
in the. Tooth, yep a little, bit a little, bit
a little, bit all, right those guys are gonna get dinged.
Up they're gonna get banged up for The. LEBRON i,
mean the guy if he's if he's, hurt he's out
like one. Game it's it's. Remarkable giannest is gonna get.

(38:48):
Hurt how are you gonna win all these? Games what
are you gonna? DO i, MEAN i know it's enticing
and it's it would be cool if it, happened but
but nobody ever accounts for. That everybody, sees you, know
the glitz and, glamour and it's going to be, underbelievable,
unbelievable but nobody accounts for those thirty games or so

(39:09):
that both of those guys could be.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Out, yeah and you know those thirty games might be
the games that determine if you make the playoffs or. Not,
yeah you, know whatever the objective, is it's not let's
just get to the play.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
In that's.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Done if we can just get to the play in
and we pass that stage now With luca And, lebron
there cannot be well if we're just gonna squeeze in, Here,
no you've got to be, really really good and how
are you going to go about doing? That that is
the charge For Rob polinka and The. Lakers, ronnie thank
you a very brief, Hour, kevin outstanding. Work And rodney

(39:44):
