Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh yes, and we keep it moving on a beautiful Tuesday. Tuesday,
Adam Austlin, Rodney Pete. Let's go, yeah, Tuesday after week one.
You know there are people out there panicking. There are
people out there already got some teams in the Super Bowl.
They're already making their decisions. Yes, after week one.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Some flipped it up at halftime last night.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Caleb Williams is the greatest quarterback ever. Wait no, it's now.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Let's get the let's get the real talk from the
man that knows it all. Vennie Bots and your Vinnie Man,
thanks for joining us. Appreciate it absolutely.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yeah, long way to go. Seventeen games and then some
is a long season. So let's let's let's let everybody
pump the brakes a little bit on the overreact.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. Before we get into all the local teams,
Benny and I include the Raiders as a local team. Yes, sir,
let's let's because Adam brought it up. Let's talk about
last night. Man. Look, everybody, look, the pressure obviously on
Caleb Williams is enormous. He plays in Chicago, where it's

(01:06):
a big football town, so everybody the eyeballs, and then
you know Ben Johnson coming over there, the new offensive guru.
So everything's supposed to change overnight, and it's still it's
still going to take some time. And you know, it's
week one, and he looked really good for three quarters,

(01:26):
and then, as Adam said, he they struggled in the
fourth quarter. And you know, Brian Flores, as people forget about,
is one of the best defensive coordinators in the league,
made some changes that stifled the Bears a little bit.
And JJ McCarthy on the flip side, struggled in the
first half and then came back and showed that he
belongs in this league and led them on a comeback

(01:47):
to win that game in Chicago, which was great to see.
I looked at it, Excuse me, I looked at it
as these are two young quarterbacks in the same division
that we're going to have the pleasure of watching for
many years to come. But yet everybody wants to look
at this and go, oh, he's a bus or they

(02:08):
got to get rid of him, Oh Chicago's the same,
or you know, before the game. I don't know why
they got rid of Sam Darnold. I don't know if
Jajon McCarthy can do it. What are they doing? Minnesota's rhyme.
They got the talent to do all these things. It's
week one. Pump the brakes. These are two young quarterbacks
in the same division that gohead to head twice a year,
conceivably before the next ten years. It's going to be

(02:30):
a beauty thing to watch. Denny.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, I completely agree. And to be honest with you,
I've been covering a quarterback in training camp and we
saw him in the first game on Sunny and we'll
get to him that maybe if the Jets had just
been a little bit more patient back in the day
with Gino Smith, they would have reaped the benefits of
what the writers are reaping right now. So and the
only reason I bring that up is because Gino was
exactly the same as Caleb, and he wasn't drafted that high,

(02:56):
but he was definitely a heralded quarterback coming out of
What's Virginia that got kicked to the curb quickly by
the New York Death. They didn't give them enough time
to really let that thing come together. And now look
at him and JJ McCarthy and Caleb Williams are just
two kids right now that really just need the luxury
of time and of patients. And I don't know that

(03:17):
we're wired that way anymore, Rodney, And it's really a
disservice to some of these young players. These guys are
they're gonna be good, They have the talent to be good,
but there's time that needs to be invested in both
of these quarterbacks. And you can't just keep read, you know,
reading firing coaches and getting rid of the quarterback and
quickly moving on and starting over. Somebody at some point
just needs to have some patience, Vinnie.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
You mentioned it there with the Raiders, Geno Smith, they
get a victory in Foxborough against the Patriots, we will
pump the brakes, we will put the caveat in. It's
just week one, but considering new head coach, new starting quarterback,
new culture they're trying to build, there, can that be
a springboard forward for the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Yeah. I don't know what the ceiling is, Adam. You know,
nine to ten wins probably for the Raiders. You know,
they've got some depth issues and they're not the most
talented roster right now. It is Pete Carroll's first year,
but that quarterback gives you a chance every single week,
and that coach gives you a chance. And that was
a classic Pete Carroll coach game. Made some adjustments in

(04:19):
the second half, stuck with some things. But yeah, I
think that when you look at Gino Smith that you
know and it is just one game, but that's three
straight years and one game for Gino Smith playing at
a high level of quarterback play. I'll be the first
one to admit I fell asleep on Gino Smith the
last three years. Maybe it's because I was hyper focused
on the team that I covered, but I didn't realize

(04:40):
how good he was. And it really wasn't until I've
been able to watch him going from going all the
way from OTA's in Mini Caapter training camp and realizing
this guy's got a lot of talent, not just a
little bit of talent, but a lot of talent. He's
got moxie, he's got a gunslinger type attitude. There was
a play he made on a third and twenty to
seal the game. Most quarterbacks would have dumped it down,
giving your putter a little bit more room to punt

(05:02):
with and go tell your defense to hold on the lead.
He said, no, I'm gonna I'm gonna do something that
I always do. I'm gonna challenge the defense downfield and
game thirty yards in a first down, and that won
the game for him basically, or sealed the game for him.
This guy's a really good quarterback and he gives the
Raiders a chance every single week.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Don't write him off. He won't right back.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I don't know. I don't know if he's a chicken
in the egg thing Vinnie who came first Pete carroll
hiring or Jenior Smith's signing, But either way, both of
them know each other very well, and I gotta imagine
that both Pete and Gino are happy to be reunited
with each other. And I also believe that. And I
didn't know this. I didn't. I didn't. I wasn't sure.

(05:43):
But the way I'm seeing it and hearing it all
through off season and training camp, that Pete Carroll is
the right fit for the Raiders. And I don't know
if it's because he spent time at USC with a
big brand like that, but the fact that he's at
the Raiders, a big brand, iconic brand like that, I
just feels like a good fit to me.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Then yeah, it's actually the perfect fit Rodney. And you
know when when when Antonio Pierce got fired, it was
probably that same day that that, you know, I got
a win that he was interested in, and we had
to kind of go back a couple of months too,
really to be perfectly frank, because Pete's not interested in
the Raiders unless Tom Brady and the group that they
brought in on the ownership side was in place. Because

(06:26):
they've changed a lot about this organization. Kind of why
Mark Davis brought these guys in, including Tom Brady, So
it kind of goes back to that, and then really
what Pete's brought here. Every time you ask Pete about
expectations and you know, timelines and everything like that, his
response is, what do you mean timeline? I want to win.
I want to win as bunch of games, a bunch

(06:47):
of games, as many as we can win. I don't
care who hears it, who that bothers, who's feathers at ruffles.
We're here to win games. And I think he has
he has brought that mentality of we're not easing into this,
we're not thinking about a pro rebuild. It may take
some time for them to go win something real like
a super Bowl, But in terms of turning this culture
around and building a winning mentality, he wants that to

(07:09):
happen yesterday, and it's kind of starting. You're starting to
see people talk with confidence about that and about how
it is possible to win. And I thought Sunday's game
was a perfect example of that something to build on.
It's going to be a totally different animal against the
Chargers on Monday. That's not the New England Patriots, and
Justin Herbert isn't Drake May, but they go. This is

(07:31):
one of the bigger games for the Raiders at Allegiance
Stadium in a long long time, maybe the biggest game
going back to when maybe they beat the Chargers to
get in the playoffs in twenty twenty one. This is
as big as it's gotten for the Raiders, and I'm
really curious for both teams, quite honestly, how they're going
to respond to that challenge.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, Vinnie, let's stay here with the other local team
with the Chargers also in the AFC WES, they got
the big matchup this week. How impressed were you with
Justin Herbert in Brazil against Kansas City because he has
the talent. In my opinion to ascend to being in
that inner circle of top five quarterbacks in the league
in his second year. Now with Jim Harball, it looks

(08:08):
like he's making strides. It was just one game, but
he was so efficient out there and knew where to
go with the football. How dangerous can this Chargers team
be with this version of Justin Herbert.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I don't think the question has ever been about how
how good he is or or who he what circles
he walks in when it comes to quarterbacks. He's got
every imaginable skill that you need. He's smart, he's got
a great arm, he can move, he's got mobility, all
of those all of those boxes are checked off by him.

(08:40):
I guess the only question is, you know, can he
do it consistently? Can he get his team to the playffs?
And can he win in the playoffs? That's really the
last question for Justin Herbert And you know so it's
it's a little bit like some of these others Josh Allen,
Lamar Jackson. Those two quarterbacks have to win the big one,
get their team to the super Bowl. The last box

(09:01):
or the next box that those guys have to check off.
So so for me, Justin Herbert, it shouldn't be a
surprise that he could play like he played, you know,
on Friday against the Chiefs. It was great to see.
Don't be don't don't you know, don't want to you know,
deflect from that because it was a brilliant performance. But
they he needs to do that consistently. He's capable of
doing that consistently, and he needs to do it when

(09:21):
it counts in the postseason. So I hate to say
we got to wait to see what happens in the postseason,
but we kind of have to wait and see what
happens in the postseason provided he gets them there.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Well, look, Josh, Josh Allen and Lamar, they got MVPs.
Like Justin Herbert, he's still got a little room to
grow in the regular season, I think, a little bit,
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
He got to do it.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
He's just as old as those guys, you know, he's
been around just as just as long basically as those guys.
Not you know, Josh Allen is a little bit different,
maybe maybe a year behind those guys. But but you
know from what every time I see him, this guy,
you know, it shows everything. I the first time I
really saw just Herbert was at the Senior Ball his

(10:05):
draft class, and I just I remember tweeting it out.
You go look at it and it said, I don't
know about anybody else in this draft, but it's hard
to imagine if there's anybody that throws a better pass
than this guy. It was spectactum for what you saw
just watching him throw and move around and operate at
the Senior Bowl. So again, for my money, and I
think we're starting to see some of this talk all right,

(10:26):
justin you're a great quarterback. You're one of the better
quarterbacks in this league. Quite honestly, It's time for him
to take that next step. And the next step for
him is in the playoffs, not the regular season. In
the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, no, I agree, And I admired the Chargers for
pulling the trigger on him and drafting him as high
as they did and then giving him a big deal
to have the face. And you need that honestly, coming
to LA you got to have that face of your franchise.
And he's certainly the right guy. And I think Keenan
Allen coming back has really helped him. Yeah as well.
But Benny, when you look at the AFC and I

(10:58):
was this past weekend. Man, there's not a better division
in football than the AFC West because Denver look good,
the Raiders look good. Kansas City is gonna beat Kansas City.
Even though they got beat by the Chargers down there,
They're still going to be in the mix because they
got fifteen pulling the trigger and and and then you know,

(11:19):
you talk about all these these four teams, and anybody
right now can win that division, Vinnie, It's gonna be
very exciting going forward, right yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
And I think the thing that that that makes you
believe that and makes it real is that all four
teams have have really good quarterbacks. I know, I know
you probably for me, Gino Smith is ahead of bow Knicks,
and right behind, you know, justin Herbert, and obviously Patrick
Mahomes is one of one. But he Gino can go

(11:48):
out there and compete against any of the quarterbacks in
this in this division. I think bow Knicks, he didn't
have the greatest game on Sunday, but but I think
that with that coach and that team and that defense,
you feel pretty good about that. But on top of
the quarterback play, you've got four of the best coaches
in all of football. Let alone their conference or division,
but all of football. And it makes for some great

(12:09):
matchups week in and week out. You saw Harbaugh against
Andy Reid on Friday. Now it's going to be the
reunion between you know, Jim and Pete, you know this
Monday in Las Vegas and the history that we know
that exists between those two. So you have the matching
of the Witch. You've got Chip Kelly where you know
a great Roman, another really highly acclaimed offensive coordinator, Stagnolo,

(12:32):
the great defensive coordinator from the Chiefs, and of course
Andy Reid runs that offense. So it's not just the
talent on the field, it's the great and I'm talking
about great coaching that they have on both sides of
the ball. So it makes for fun weekends. And I
can't wait till Monday. I to see the Raiders and
Chargers square out.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Vinnie with the Rams here in Los Angeles. They get
a fourteen nine victory over the Texans. They do so
with their defense and some time he plays on the
offensive end. Are they turning into a defensive juggernaut with
Sean McVay. Even without the names like Aaron Donald and
Jalen Ramsy, it feels like they just have a lot
of guys that compliment each other.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, and it's time to as always give Less Need
and his group just a ton of credit. They find
talent man everywhere. It's all over the draft. It's not
the first round. We know, you know that they went
a long time without first round picks. It didn't matter.
They find great talent in the second and the third,
you know, beyond even the draft, in free agency, undrafted

(13:33):
free agency, they just have an eye for talent and
they've reloaded without question. Defensively, here's the thing. I think
Houston's defense is pretty good. That was a really good
test for the Rams early on against a very well
coached Houston Texans team and a very talented Houston Texans team.
They didn't get the most that I think they're ultimately
going to get from their offense. I believe in the

(13:55):
Rams offense and Sean McVay, But when you have a
defense that I think you're they're going to be able
to hang their hat on, that's going to keep you
in every game, and eventually the offense is gonna is
going to catch up. I wouldn't be surprised if it's this.
If it's this week. So that's a pretty powerful team.
And for my money, I think the Rams are the
best team in the m C. You know, it's going
to be a joggernut there as well. And the Philadelphia

(14:16):
Eagles are are a proud team. And you know, the
Minnesota Viking is a very well coached team as well
with a good young quarterback. And I think the Green
Bay Packers are really good as well. But if the
Rams can get home field advantage, I think that's gonna
be the key for them, so that they don't have
to go outdoors in the Green Bay or Philadelphia. And
they we're thinking way ahead right now, but if they
could get the teams coming to Sofi Stadium in January,

(14:38):
I think that would help them. And and so they're
for me, one of those teams that I'm looking at
as not super Bowl or bus but they are good
enough to get to the super Bowl without quiet.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Yeah they are, and they did it like as like
Adam said on on defense, and those two young defensive
ends are are incredible. And and so now we to
stop talking about Stafford in his back because he played
Week one, he got hit. He actually they actually called
a quarterback sneak with him, which is like, weird that

(15:11):
you a guy coming in didn't play all preseason and
didn't really practice in training camp because of the back,
and they call it quarterback snake. He took a couple
of hits. Are we good? Are you good? Now?

Speaker 3 (15:23):
This?

Speaker 1 (15:23):
With Stafford being healthy enough to play for the for
most of the.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Season, I would say that I still think that there's
some fingers crossed. You know, backs are tricky things, and
we've talked about this, Rodney. You know, you could get
out of bed the wrong way and all of a sudden,
you know you're you're you're feeling it, or you could
get hit. Obviously it's a physical sport with football, so
so that's always tricky. So it was great for week one.

(15:50):
I think everyone is hoping for the best because I
think everybody wants to see the Rams at their best,
just like every other team. You want to see Joe
Burrow out there, you want to see Dusin Nerber out there.
That's what we pay the money, and we're so interested,
especially when it comes to great quarterbacks and great teams.
But you know, it is a back end for it,
and so I'm not going to sleep on that. You know,
it's a long season ago, as we talked about at

(16:12):
the top, and when it comes to backs, you just
kind of hold your breath sometimes.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Well, Vinnie, we don't hold our breath when we talk
to you.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Man.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
You always bring the good stuff, brother, and we appreciate
it and we look forward to talk to you every
single week.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Thanks, Vinnie, I appreciate it, guy. Take care. I have
a great job.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Absolutely, there he goes Vinnie Bosigo has always dialed in, baby,
let's go all right. You know, we got to bring
it back. You know, Dodger's still playing Colorado. Somebody said
they needed to sweep Colorado to kind of get back
to Whether Dodgers need to get back to Is that
true or not? We'll find out. Let's talk about it.

Speaker 4 (16:48):

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Right on right on, right on. Welcome back to a
beautiful Tuesday, Adam Auslin, Rodney Pete, many thanks to our
man Vinnie Bonsignor, who's always brings the knowledge when it
comes to the NFL, especially the Raiders and the Rams
and the Chargers. Here are local teams, all right, So Adam,

(17:35):
many people said, and we love our guy David Vasse
who basically he said, this was for the Dodgers. This
is a series they need to sweep. They got to
have it.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
I agree with them.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Gotta sweep, gotta sweep Colorado. And you mentioned this earlier
several times that they've got seven games coming up with
San Francisco, who are on a heater right now.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
They found something, they.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Found on something and they're chasing. They're chasing hard. They're
feeling like, if the Padres and the Dodgers continue to skid,
we got a shot. Yeah, wiggle their way they can.
With eighteen games left, you never know what can happen.
Things happen crazy in baseball all the time, so they can.
But is this a much sweet for the Dodgers with.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
How bad Colorado has been this season and how poorly
the Dodgers have played as of late against teams under
five hundred. I think, honestly, I'm not giving them much
credit for winning one game last night. No, I would
have gave them more credit had they got the complete
game no hitter, had they gotten the combined no hitter,

(18:41):
then I always said, Okay, that's nice, that's special right there.
Maybe they do turn a corner because of that. Honestly,
the bar is you have to sweep a team like
Colorado this late in the season, when you have had
issues and bumps in the road against some of the
worst teams that they haven't got up for and that
has been their bug a boo or the criticism. This
Dodgers team only gets up for the best, and that

(19:05):
has been consistent the second half of this season. So
show us something different. Sweep Colorado, dominate them, throw no
header tonight?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Why not? Wow? After everything that has happened and only
eighteen games left, so they have to sweep Colorado in
order to get themselves right.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
It's not gonna fix everything, but wouldn't at least tell
you maybe they're starting to lock in. Maybe this is it,
this is what we're waiting for. They still got to
show up against San Francisco this weekend.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they do. And it's unfortunate that the
teams that they should beat. We always talk about this,
Fred and I want to talk about this. Uh and
you know this, And in sports, you got to beat
the teams you're supposed to beat. You always got to
beat the teams. And if you're in in baseball, because
there's so many games, if you don't beat them all
all the time, you got to win the series against

(20:02):
teams that you're supposed to win the series against. And
certainly they got to win the series against Colorado, not
like splitting with them when they went to Colorado a
couple weeks ago and going to and two. You gotta
win them all. And I agree that this is a
pivotal series going into the weekend against San Francisco, that

(20:22):
they need to show signs that they are on the
right track. Yeah, that are on the right track. You
know again, starting pitching has been good. We got to
get the bullpen straight. But man, Adam, I'm still worried
about the offense. I'm still worried about the offense. And

(20:43):
then run support scoring runs when they not even against
good pitching, but they're not scoring runs against bad pitching.
That is my concern.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Even last night, they were somewhat fortunate the rocky starter
Dolelander left that ballgame, who had an ERA of almost seven.
Now I know his stuff is better than his era.
And if you're pitching in Colorado, remember when they brought
in what was Mike Hampton. They gave him all that money.
We're finally gonna have a front line starter in Colorado.
He's gonna be able to survive the thin air. Now

(21:16):
that didn't happen. Nobody survives there, so he's better than that.
But he went out with the cramp and he was
dominating the Dodgers. If you're a Dodger fan right now,
you gotta hope Max Munsey cures a lot of what
ails them. And the numbers say they're a different lineup
when he's in it. He's kind of that powder cake.
He's so explosive, like it can affect the guy who's

(21:38):
in front of him and behind him. Everybody's seeing different
pitches out there because Max Munsey is such a live
wire bat where he can get hot in a hurry
and put up some crooked numbers by himself. That's I
think part of what needs to happen. With this teammate.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
You know, we talk about different pitchers and things like that.
They can't win without they can't. I don't think they
can go deep without Max Munsey being in the lineup
and being productive like Max Munsey has been. I also
think a catalyst for this team coming back is Tommy Edmund.
You know, when you miss a guy that's got that

(22:21):
kind of energy that is a versatile player, a Swiss
army knife like Tommy Edmond is, and having him, you
know which, I think he will play in center field
and be the regular center fielder going forward. That also
gives you a jolt. It also gives you Okay, now
we're back at full strength again, and that's all we

(22:41):
were waiting for is to be at full strength. They
did it from the pitching stand for it. They got
all their pictures back. Now we're getting our position guys back.
Now we're at phil strength going into the playoffs. Now,
let's try to unpose our will. That on paper and
in mindset is what should happened for the Dodgers, But

(23:01):
we've kept saying that all season. Line it hasn't happened
for the dog.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Yeah, and you wonder have they been overly cautious to
a fault where they've had the mindset of as long
as we're healthy by the time the playoffs start, will
be fine. But now you get to this place where
we're wondering, where's the sense of urgency because San Diego's
right behind them. The Giants are actually trying to shoot
up the NL West standings. Unlikely they could chase down

(23:28):
the Dodgers, but they do have seven games left, and
they put themselves in a position where these games are
meaningful late in the season. And you can tell me this, Rodney,
but have you ever been on a team that felt
they were a flip the switch team and they could
figure it out when they're going gets tough, they'll be
there because sometimes we've seen teams over the years where

(23:53):
they step on the gas again after taking their foot
off the pedal for a while, and they can't find it,
you know, they can't find find that same resilient nature,
that same level of intensity they had because they built
up some bad habits. That's what I wonder about.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Yeah, yeah, that's tough. I guess the only team that
I was on that I felt that at any given
moment we were the best team in the League was
the Dallas Cowboys when I was there in ninety four,
because they had won back to back Super Bowls before

(24:32):
I got there. And then, you know, I think we
lost a game middle season to Cleveland in Dallas, and
you know, everybody's like, we should never leave lose to
Cleveland and think. And then we rattled off some wins,
but always felt like, if we play our best, we
go out and play nobody's beating us because we're the
best talented team out there. And then we ran into

(24:55):
San Francisco in the in the championship game where we
spotted them twenty one points and still came back and
made a game. But that was really the only team
other than that you want to feel good rolling into
the playoffs. Now, I have been on teams that we
were struggling and kind of almost limping into the playoffs,

(25:17):
and Philadelphia being one of them. In ninety five, I
think we were struggling, didn't play well the last three
games of the season, had to fight and scrap to
win against the Arizona Cardinals, who were not a good
team at the time. At the end of the season,
and everybody was wondering how we were going to be
and then we came out and blew out Detroit in
the first preseason game, I mean first proceeding game playoff

(25:39):
game in Philadelphia. So it was like all things were
right again, because now it's a different animal now because
we already knew we were making the playoffs, and it
was like, let's just get to the playoff game and
then we'll be all right. And it happened that way
that we turned everything on against Detroit in that playoff game.
I just doesn't happen all the time. Yeah, And you

(26:02):
hope that with the Dodgers, when they feel like they've
they're at full strength, they feel like nobody can beat them,
and I think they do feel that. We just got
to have to wait and see all right. Back to
wrap it up, Adam Auslin Rodney Pete on a beautiful Tuesday,
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Make AM five seventy LA Sports a preset before you
plug in your phone. Presets in the iHeartRadio app now
available with Apple CarPlay and Android autom Just another easy
way to listen to LA's best sports talk.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Oh yes it is us. Been a great Tuesday. Hope
you enjoyed it. Me and my man double A chopping
it up on a variety of different things. Man, Adam,
what did you what's your takeaway from week one? Now
in the NFL, Man, I just want to get you know,
from an overall perspective. We had Vinnie on earlier. We

(26:55):
talked about it, and you know in the show, you're
just general perspective. It feels to me they're like it's
almost at It's as wide open as the NFL has
been in a long time, with some really good teams.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Yeah, because Kansas City it feels like has gone back
to the pack a little bit and for the first
time and I think a decade they could lose the division.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, even the Raiders look.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Good early on, but Chargers Denver and they could have
looked better against Tennessee. But we'll see what happens. So
the AFC looks like it's between a handful of teams
with the Ravens and the Bills at the top. And
then the NFC. You get a move with Micah Parsons
a week before the season starts. That could change the

(27:44):
complexion of that league, where I honestly think the Green
Bay Packers are the best in the NFC. Now, honestly,
I think that solidified their defense. He only played thirty snaps.
He was still very impactful against Jared Goff and the Lions.
But a lot of people are still wondering how good
Jordan Love is. Is he a year away? And we

(28:04):
just heard from Vinnie b Vinnie Bonsignor that he's got
the almost Saint Louis the La Rams And ain't Kurt Warner.
It's Matt Stafford. Now he's got the La Rams one
in the NFC. So if you pull a bunch of people,
you're gonna get all kinds of responses of who they
have as the leaders in the clubhouse of making it
to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Yeah, it's it's almost. You know, it's been competitive in
the past, but it's been competitive with a handful of teams.
It feels like when you look at the AFC West
in which we just talked to Benny about the Raiders,
the Chargers, the Broncos, the Chiefs, any one of those
teams can win it. And they all got great coaches,
and they got pretty good quarterbacks, really good quarterbacks, and

(28:44):
no Bowman bo Nick is that probably at the bottom
of that as the young guy, but they've all got
really good quarterbacks. You think about what we saw last night.
The two young guys in the NFC North, the Caleb
Williams and JJ McCarthy. They're going places. They've got good teams. Detroit.
I don't think it's done. I think they they got

(29:05):
exposed a little bit in Green Bay. I think they
got shocked a little bit in Green Bay. But they'll
bounce back. They got a good team. Uh, Dan Campbell
hob those guys ready to play in green Bay. To
to your point, obviously, if any team got better in
a week with Michael Parsons joining them, and he still
got to think about Philadelphia and Washington in the East
in the nfcn Dallas, Philly, Yes, even Dallas look good.

(29:30):
I mean, there are a number of teams that can
do their thing and and be pretty good.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
There's only one team.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I'm worried about Miami.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
A two teams, our former team, the Carolina Panthers. Know
everybody's in it except for Carolina.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
It's away still, Yeah, unfortunately, you know you say that
about Carolina every other year, every two years. Oh, there's
still a ways away. There's still a ways away. Because
even the Bucks and the foul Fulks look good.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
That was one of the best games on Sunday. Yeah,
Michael Pennix looks great.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
He looks like he's been in the league for four years.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
All right, the Saints are out of it too, maybe, Yeah,
the Saints are out, you can join the dumpter fire.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Cleveland is out. I'm still I'm still concerned. I don't
know about Cincinnati at this point. I don't know about
their defense. I don't know about what they Obviously, they
got one of the best quarterbacks in the league and
Joe Burrow. I don't know what their defense is going
to do. Pittsburgh, are you sold on Aaron Rodgers in
the first game against the Jets.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
I'm rooting for him to make headlines on the field
again and for it not to be a side show.
So I would like to see Aaron Rodgers to return
to form. And he did look good.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Yeah, he did. We'll see listen Dodgers Colorado again tonight.
Some say Dodgers need to sweep this series just to
kind of get their mindset right again. I might believe that.
I actually might believe that. Petrolson my next, Let's go.
Thank you, Adam, Roddy Kevin, thank you so much. Appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
