Touchdown for Kids promotion this year, for every touchdown scored
in our nine to six to one and one oh
seven mus Lake shore games of the week. Our friends
at MCU donate fifty dollars to Kids' Food Basket to
nourish local kids to reach their full potential. We're over
(01:04):
four thousand dollars now already, and that the touchdowns keep
coming and LMCU keeps donating that money to Kids' Food Basket.
We appreciate everybody's participation. Has been a very successful campaign.
We look for more touchdowns than the final two weeks
of the regular season and even into the playoffs. But
we are at Fox Accura on twenty nine Street, forty
three thirty twenty nine Street. Corey Slater is the sales
manager here. Corey. First of all, I want to thank
(01:26):
you for hosting the Keniwa Hills Nights our guests tonight.
I know that community involvement is a big part of
the Fox difference.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Oh absolutely. I think community is part of any good business.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
In the area. A lot of excitement around here right now.
You've got a powertrain warrantry that's just off the just
refresh right, just off.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
The that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Pay ye tell us about the warranty.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
We are the first Fox dealership in town to offer it.
It's a lifetime powertrain warranty on all new Accuras. Just
got to maintain your vehicle.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
When you say lifetime, you mean lifetime lifetimes. Got it.
You take care of it properly, get the services done
and guaranteed for life. That's right. Twenty years from now
you come back you say, Nope, that's it. That's fantastic.
What's been the reaction so far?
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Have you been really exciting? I think people, uh, I
think people are really excited about it. It's a difference maker,
absolutely it is.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
And again I see you've got the electric charging station
out there are what are you hearing about the electric
side of it?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Well, we have a new electric one on the way,
mid sized suv not here yet, but we also have
some hybrids coming on the way in the next couple
of years.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
What are the questions people are asking when they're kind
of deciding whether electric or hybrid or traditional? What are
the questions people ask?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Ohe range is a big one for people, the newer ones.
They go around three hundred miles, so I beleeve it's
a lot of people's concerns for the most part, and
I think setting up the chargers at your house is
a concern as well. But it seems that the manufacturers
have really stepped up and kind of taken that off
your plate.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
You've got some special some lease specials right now, tell
us about it. I know the Integer's got a great
deal going right yep.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Four thousand down three and a quarter, great car, great
gas mileage, comfortable, same deal on the on the eighty X,
and you get all wheel drive four thousand down three
twenty five.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Four thousand down three twenty five a month for the
new lease. I get a beautiful brand new accurate out
here as well, now accurate certified vehicles. You've got a
six year bumper to bumper to bumper warrant you all.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
That's right yep, six year, one hundred thousand bumper bumper
from New that really stands out. A loud brands our
powertrain only, so this covers everything. So you spend a
little more, but you get a little more.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Corey Slater, our sales manager guest here at Fox Accurate.
Corey tell us about your sales hours and your service hours.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Here we are nine to seven Monday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Thursday,
Friday nine to six, and Saturday nine to two.

Is that full service on Saturday or oil change is.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Only oil changes only.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Okay, by appointment? Nope, come on in all right? What
about trade in If somebody wants to know, maybe they've
got a different brand of vehicle, they wonder if they
can trade it into count Accura.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yep, we take all makes and models here. We encourage it.
We try to be as competitive as possible.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
We sell it.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Corey, you've been here with Fox family for a few years.
Tell us about the Fox difference. What it means to
you to be a part of the Fox Motors Group.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Well, I just think we have the right people, the
right products, and the right culture. I think you can
feel it when you walk in one of our showrooms,
not just here, but all over town.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Well, thanks to you and Josh Fertal the GM here
for hosting Keniwall Hills and being a big part of
this community. And we look forward to working with you
down the road. Sounds good, Corey Slater, our guest, our host,
I should say at Fox Accurra forty three thirty twenty
nights to take a break, come back and tell you
about our lineup. This week we get another big week
of high school football coming your way on nine to
six one the game. Stay with us its Motorspickskin Party
(04:40):
coming to you live from Fox Accrea forty three to
thirty twenty ninth Street, Southeast. Thanks to the good folks
here for hosting kenniwall Hills. The Knights coach Don Fellows
has got five of his players. We're going to get
to them a little bit later on the show. We
are all geared up for Week eight of the high
school football season, which is this Friday night. Can you
believe it? We're down to just two more games in
the regular season, and of course our coverage will on
(05:01):
into the playoffs. Will tell you more about that when
we get closer to it. We've got another big night
lined up of our coverage of our games. Our game
reporters will go out and do reports from across the
West Michigan games. Our game of the week is a
big one, big conference matchup Catholic Central and Northview. Catholic
Central will having a perfect season so far four and
own league seven overall, in Northview a little bit dropped
(05:23):
down after their phenomenal record breaking season last year. North
through two and two in league play, five and two overrow.
That's our ninety six to one. The game game of
the week Keaton BUCKSHUNI will call that action at six
point fifty our one oh seven m us game. We
goes a little bit north theer this year. This week
we're gonna go to Tri County at Kent City. Important game.
Kent City having a fantastic season. They are four and
(05:43):
oh in league play and a perfect seven to zero overall.
Tri County five and two overall. That should be a
good one is Jason Hutton and Tom Kenna will call
that action on our Lake Shore Game of the Week
one oh seven m us The Moves. Of course, before
those both of those games a week, we have the
J and H Family Stores Pregame Show on both stations
starting at six o'clock. I'll host that. That's where we
go around and did our different game reporters and they
(06:06):
do detailed previews of games across West Michigan. Here's the
games that we've got reporters. Going to East Kentwood at Granville,
a big okay red matchup for both teams. Unity Christian
at South Christian Big Rapids at Coopersville, a very important
game in the River City's Alliance Conference. Actually, Coopersville from
the River City Big Rapids has not been Big Rapids
having a fantastic year. They're a perfect seven oh up
(06:28):
nor So. It's a non conference game, but a very
big game for Coopersville as they're thinking about trying to
get into the playoffs. A win over Big Rapids would
take a big step towards that even their record at
four and four and get him a lot of bonus
points against Big Rapids. It's at the home of the Broncos,
Ludington at orchard View out on the Lake Shore. Our
Lake Shore Spotlight Game of the Week, Scott de Camp
has that one. Luddington having a historic seven and oh
(06:49):
season so far. We talked with coach Guncil last Friday
night after their seventh win of the year and they're
just all kinds of excitement coming out of Floodington right
now over that high school football team, orchard View four
and three on the ear win for them is kind
of like Coopersville. Win by orchard View over Luddington will
really gain them a huge amount of points and just
about put them in the playoffs. I would think with
(07:09):
all the points they would get from beating Luddington. An
important game for two teams battling to get in the playoffs.
Forest Hills Central is two and five overall at Zealand
East four and three. Now, in the old way of
thinking things, two and five you would be eliminated at
this point because you had to pretty much win five
to get in. That's not the case anymore. You can
get in at four and five based on who you
win and how they the school the size that you beat,
(07:31):
and how they did against their other games. So again,
they're not dead yet, or they'd take a big step
if they can knock off Stealand East, which wants to
keep its hopes alive at four and three. So far,
we'll also have reports from the for Sills Northern Byron
Center game Byron Center is four and three four Sills
Northern three and four, So a key game for both
those teams playoff hopes. That's in our J and eight
(07:52):
Family Stores pregame show on both stations ninety six to
one in the game where you're also hear thoughts before
the kickoff, and our own Buck Gino will bring you
g we knows gems. With all our games, all our
reporters going across West Michigan, we still can't get to
all the games we need to and Buck Gino will
have three spotlight games. We'll take a deep look at
you can catch all that Friday night at a little bit
at six o'clock on ninety six won the game. All right,
(08:14):
We're gonna take a time out, come back and talk
high school football with the kenw Whales Nights. Coach Don
Fellows joins us, stay with us. Here on ninety six
won the game back on the Fox Motors Piskin party
from Fox acta Rick Burkey saying thanks for joining us.
We talked a little bit about our big schedule on
Friday night, but you know what, you can get ready
(08:34):
for that week's action before the Friday night the night before,
in fact, by tuning into the LMCU preview show Thursday
night at six. Here on ninety six won the game.
Our talented hosts a Brett Mkita and Jason Hutton give
detailed previous I mean detailed of games across areas while
it's updated standings and their weekly rankings. Get a jump
start on your football weekend with the LMCU preview Show
(08:56):
Thursday night at six Right here on ninety six won
the game in high school football with the Kenawa Hills Nights,
who are feasting on some pizza supplied by the good
folks at Fox Accurate here right now. And meanwhile, Don
Fellows the head coach, second year heading the program here.
But of course Don a veteran coach in the area,
twenty nine years overall, second year. You were union before this,
(09:18):
and Don, let let's talk a little bit about the years.
So they seem to have flown by, I'm sure for you,
twenty nine years, and yet you still keep doing it?
What keeps you going? Coach?
Speaker 5 (09:29):
You know, I think it's it's been a great run.
You know, a lot of it's family, right My brother's
offense coordinator. My cousin's the defense coordinator. Our cousin, Larry
Joe Campbell moved back to California this fall and he's
a special teams coordinator. And obviously my son's playing for us.
But we're a football family. My mom, I don't think
she's ever missed in her life to any of ours.
And I got my nephews in the prom now as
(09:51):
seventh grader. So it's been fun. It's really nice to
get to see, you know, as your kids get older,
you get to coach.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Him a lot of excitement and Kennowa Hill's over the
reinvigoration that you done of this program.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Yeah, I mean it's been amazing, and we knew we
had some good kids there.
Speaker 6 (10:07):
Now.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
The twenty seven class was pretty good. But one of
the things that I always talk about, we think we
have six kids that never played football before that we
were recruiting, pounding on the on the streets. And you know,
we got two of them here today, Bobby and Brennan,
And you know, they've been huge contributors and started two
years for us. So I think you got to build
it in your own school. And our community is one
hundred percent supportive and backing us, and our administration has
(10:28):
been great, and you know, I think we're we have
a program that's sustainable for the future.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Don what do you tell a kid who's never played
football before, Well, how do you how do you appeal
to them?
Speaker 5 (10:36):
You know, you try to find your best athletes and
then you go up to him and you just what
I always do is like, hey, give me, give me
ten minutes of a workout with you. Right, let's just
do an individual workout. I can I feel like I've
done this long enough. I can tell if a kid's
got the right DNA makeup some skills stuff. Like with
Brendan Castinas, I knew right away he went out caught
a couple of balls and I'm like, dude, you got
to play football, right And he ended up being two
year starter. So a lot of it's just you try
(10:57):
to get your best athletes and football is a unique game.
Let's your quarterback. You know you can come out and
contribute quite fast.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
I'm sure some of your fellow players also were part
of getting those guys to come out.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Yeah. I mean that's a great group of kids. They
you know, they all grew up together. They've all played
baseball and basketball sports together. We have a lot of
three sport athletes, so you know, they all they've been
together since they were little, so they encourage them.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
I think coaches love more than anything else, perhaps routines.
You are in a fall break, you say that there's
no school Friday and there's no school today. How did
you handle that of because some coaches thinking, no, I
don't want any change, especially when you're having a good
year like the nights are having.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Yeah, I'm I'm a big process guy. I think a
lot of successful programs are once you get in your routine.
You stick with that routine. But we we've made a
couple of adjustments this year. We moved to two days
a week practice.
Speaker 7 (11:47):
That's unusual for us.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
We just don't have a ton of kids who have
thirty two kids in the varsity, So we go hard
on Monday night and then we kind of do a
walk through on Tuesday, go hard on Wednesday, and we'll
do a walk through on Thursday, and it's refreshed and
energize their kids. But I think two is the leader
you got to. We have a leadership committee. I met
with them, and you know, we had a long four
weeks here. We played some really good teams. So with
me and the leadership, we thought today would be a
(12:09):
good day to rest up. And we took today off
and I'm gonna getting back at it a little bit
extra tomorrow. We have no school, so you're always trying
to feel with your kids and your old program and energy,
and we're trying to get rested up and hopefully make
a long play off front.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Tell us about that leadership committee, don what do you
look for in young men to be on that leadership
committee and what are their duties once they're on that committee?
Speaker 5 (12:29):
Well, you know, it kind of develops over time, right,
you think you have the right leaders, and then as
the season goes on, you kind of can see some
kids falling off, some kids feeling and so it's this
constant changing. You know, we have voted captains and those
guys are here tonight, but the leadership committee we're adding.
We're trying to we're trying to reach every kid in
our program so we can gather information to make their
high school experience the best possibly can be.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Let's talk a little bit about your season. Let's break
it down. You started off with four wins right off
the bat over four seals Northern pap Foality on Cedar Springs.
And again in this day and age, you know you're
you're going ahead the postseason. Also you're trying to win
a league title first of all, but but you're you're
thinking also in the back of your mind about playoff points,
and that means the teams you beat, you need them
(13:10):
to do well. And Paupaul is doing his job for you. Right.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
Yeah, Papa is a great program and the traditionally really
good strong program. Last year they're eight and one. They
have a real they really stepped up their schedule and
they're four and three. They haven't they've lost to a
tough Niles team and you know, and then Big Rapids
and US, so they're they're right there, but they've done well.
So a lot of the teams we've beaten are really
good program.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Now, refresh me on this. Now, even though Paul Paul
lost to you, don't do they get bonus points the game?
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Yeah, they get, they get a they get certain bonus
points on how well we do.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
So that that again, that encourages bigger tougher scheduling, right
because if you didn't get anything, then why would you
play the you know, the tougher programs as well? Your
only loss against a very fine Battle Creek Harper Creek team,
tell us about what you remember what your team took
from that game.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yeah, I think that was kind of a wake up
call for us. You know, order four and zero, first
time since nineteen ninety two. You know, we had homecoming.
We beat really good Cedar Springs team that week. Cedar
Springs had already knocked off Harper Creek. So I think
we had this little mentality we were going to get
on a bus and go an hour and a half
and think we were just going to get out and play,
and but it it led to some positive changes for
(14:13):
our kids. I think they grew up. We're still pretty young.
I think we start sixteen underclassmen, and when you have
a lot of kids that have them won, like we're
winning right now, it can go that way too.
Speaker 7 (14:23):
So we had to get refocused and.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
We came back and we you know, we beat a
great Lowell team at home, and then we went on
the road and beat a Coopers Hill team.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
So coach, you don't want to lose a game to
get refocused like that, but you did at least do
it in a non conference game, so that kept you
on top on the River City Allions.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
Yeah, I mean that's our goal from very beginning is
to be undefeated in the conference and we want to
be our first conference title in a long long time.
And especially you know, we got an opportunity to finish
this off where we're you know, a second year, we
get to win a conference title and not suare it
with anybody, So we're I think our kids will really
understand what's at stake for the next two weeks. And
we had Greenville team that's coming in that just played
(15:02):
really well against Cadillac, and we got to get a
job done.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I asked you earlier this summer about this, but I'm
going to ask you again here on ninety six to
one the game don second year of the River City's Alliance.
Tell us about what your views are on it since
they split from the OKA. Advantages so far and if
you see any disadvantages yet from not being in the.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Ok Yeah, I mean it's the layout of it is great, right,
I mean, we have great crowds, We're neighboring schools, The
rivalry is awesome. Crowds have been even phenomenal even at
the seventh and eighth grade level. We you know, the
revenue that it's creating for some of our programs is great,
I think, to be honest about and I can't really
(15:41):
say too much about it. I'm you know, I just
think we got to somehow attract better officiating and whether
it's you know, there's a split between the Okay Conference
and the RCA. They don't let referees cross over, so
we're really thin on officials, you know. And then we
have some great crews, but we have some really young crews,
and and I think we got to do a better
(16:02):
job of like attracting, you know, more experience and getting
better cruise within our staff. And it's it's a hard thing.
I think the rest are short everywhere, but you were
for us in the RCA. It's been a conversation amongst
coaches that you know, we got to really try to
attract some like more experience officials because we got some.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
We have some big games.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
You get into a Lowell and ken Oy Hills game,
and a Lowell and Cedar Springs game and a Coopersville
those places are packed and it's it's intense football. I mean,
I think we have four teams that are ranked in
the state, in our district or in our conference right now.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
You talked about the challenges with everywhere with getting officials.
What what do you think what can be done to
encourage more young people to get into officiating and and
go through the process to you know, eventually getting to
do varsity games. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
I had a really good conversation Saturday with a longtime
friend that's officials. You know, I think it's coaches and
including myself, right, you got to be we gotta be
more positive officiating the younger levels and the parents are
really difficult on officials. And then I think the third
and the most part, I think we got to evaluate
them better. Like we have to, we have to pay
them more. So if you're expecting a guy to do
(17:04):
four jobs at night after he's worked all day, and
we're not paying them appropriately, there's not a lot of
time and effort going into it. So I think there's
got to be a structure created. I would love to
see some type of bonus structure for officials at the
end of the year where RCAA puts money into a
pot and you know, the best officials get paid.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
All right, don what would you say one or two
things that this team does very well right now?
Speaker 5 (17:27):
They're a blue collar team. I mean, I love our
group of kids. You know, they're not as vocal as
I'd like to see him sometimes, but they work extremely
hard and there they resolve. I mean even Friday, we
got off to a big lead and Cooper's will battled
their butts back and they took a lead. And you know,
most teams could quit, but I just I looked at
our our kids didn't blink. You know, We've been in
some big games right now, and I'm really really proud
(17:48):
of our kids, And my favorite part is being a
practice with our staff and our kids, and I want
to keep that going as long as we can.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
The vocal part certainly part of leadership of your upper classmen.
How do you how do you develop that with with
you know, guys that you say he's got the ability
maybe in terms of playing, but but they don't have
that's not part of their personality a least hasn't been
so far. How do you grow that?
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Well? I think it's my job to understand, like, what
what is that kid's personality? You can't make you know,
Will Fossman, who's a pretty quiet kid, to go out.
Speaker 7 (18:18):
And be super vocal.
Speaker 5 (18:19):
Right, It's more of a how you how you're handling
yourself on the practice field, in the games, off the
off the field, that.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Are you doing the right thing?
Speaker 5 (18:27):
So I think you just got to let kids, you know,
be themselves, and that's you don't encourage them to do things.
But you can't change a kid and make them be
somebody they're not.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Tell me what you need to see in a sophomore
before you decide he's ready for varsity football.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
Down it's pretty simple for us. If he's the best player,
he you know, we have position groups, you know, where
coaches won't coaches coach one side of the ball, which
is defense or offense, and they're they're coaching. They're developing
from tenth grade all the way up. And we just
had a kid two weeks ago come up and start
forces against Huntsville Udson Drake.
Speaker 7 (18:58):
I mean our coaches like.
Speaker 5 (18:59):
You can't keep them off field anymore, you know, So
regardless of class, the best kids got to play. And
this day and age and recruiting, you got to get
kids on the field at ninth and tenth grade if
they're going to have a chance to get recruited in college.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
And the fifth quarter program helps that, right.
Speaker 5 (19:12):
We're really strategic about it, and we're moving kids around
all the time and getting kids experience in certain positions
so you can developed for the varsity.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I read something online and I didn't really understand it.
Just briefly mentioned that some schools were taking advantage and
abusing the fifth quarter system. What are they doing to
do that?
Speaker 5 (19:29):
Well, I think some people, and we haven't seen it.
I mean, the guys we coach against their pretty quality coaches.
So we're always communicating about juniors and sophomores and playing
down like Harper Creek was great.
Speaker 7 (19:39):
He sent us a roster, we sent them one back.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
But I think what happens is people start they're trying
to keep programs alive for freshman jv and they end
up playing kids six or seven quarters in a game
and maneuvering jerseys around. But I think the MHSA is
done a good job of that, like if you get caught,
you forfeit the game. But I think in general, for
the most part, most high school football coaches are care
about kids, and they understand they can't. It's just not
good for their bodies.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
All right, don what what's the one area this team's
got to get better at coach?
Speaker 5 (20:07):
I think we got to. We gotta get a field
and third and fourth down. We've played really well defensive,
either the points per game don't show it. We get
a lot of stops, but you know we're getting third
and fourth down long situations. We're giving up some silly
plays and if we're gonna win playoff games, we gotta
we gotta clean that up in our super down.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Always great to visiting with you. Thanks for stopping out
bringing your guys, and best of luck. This week and
down the road.
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Man, thanks for having us.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
All right, we'll take a time. I'm gonna come back
with our first couple of players from the Kennawa Hills Nights.
Stay with us. We're rolling on with the Fox Motors
Pigskin Party live from Fox Accary. Don't forget lifetime powertrain
warning when you buy a new vehicle and maintain a property.
That's right, Lifetime powertrain warranty ran New Accuras right here
at Fox Accura. Back with more on ninety six won
the game. We continue with the Fox Motors Pigskin Party
(20:55):
live from Fox Accura forty three thirty twenty nine three.
Just around the corner from twenty eight three where we're
twenty eighth and twenty ninth come together. We're visiting with
the Kenawa Hills Nights here on the Fox Motors Picksgain Party.
Our first guest running Gaustinas senior wide receiver on this
team plays basketball in baseball. But I understand you were
one of the He hadn't played football for Is that correct?
Speaker 7 (21:14):
Nope, I hadn't played football to my junior.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Tell us a little bit about when when coach fellows
or if one of the player whoever first approached you
about playing football for the first time, go back to
that time. Tell us what was told to you and
what you remember about it.
Speaker 8 (21:25):
So I think it was at our local country club
grace Will Coach Fellows came up to me introduced himself.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
I haven't played football, so I didn't know much about it.
Speaker 8 (21:34):
But then I think after he introduced himself, we got
out to like a football field and just ransom routes
and just see what I could do. And Coach Fellows
is very good at just telling a kid if you're
gonna play or not, and so he said I had
some potential and I decided to play.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Did you not play before? Basically you were focused. You
played basketball and baseball.
Speaker 8 (21:54):
I played flag football like when I was like five,
but nothing besides that.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
What was the hardest thing for you to learn, you know,
going to football for the first time? Running?
Speaker 7 (22:03):
Yep, what was the hardest thing?
Speaker 8 (22:05):
Yeah, the hardest thing was probably learning the playbook. It
was hard at first, but then when you start to
learn more of the routes and stuff, it started to
get easier to piece together.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Have you thought about the fact that you're not gonna
get any time off you're hopefully gonna make a little
playoff run here. You're gonna go right from football to
basketball whenever it ends, and then right to baseball.
Speaker 7 (22:23):
I mean, I love it, honestly.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
It's my senior year, so I'm just I'm grateful that
I'm able to play this amount of sports and be
important and all these roles.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
You haven't decided exactly where we're going to school, run
and tell us about the schools you're thinking about right now.
Speaker 8 (22:39):
I'm looking Grand Valley and maybe out of state, like
University of Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Where did that come from? Kentucky?
Speaker 8 (22:45):
I visited it over this summer and I just I
fell in love with the campus.
Speaker 7 (22:49):
So it was very nice, like.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
We just vacationing out there or something.
Speaker 8 (22:52):
Oh No, we went down a lot of college visits,
like I think we went to Tennessee as well, Michigan State,
But University of Kentucky was beautiful and I loved.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
It all right besides beautiful campus, and you picked a
couple of good ones there. Yeah, what are the things
that you're looking for in the school before you decide
that's where you're going to matriculate?
Speaker 8 (23:10):
Oh, I just think the programs, like if they have
a good business or finance program that attracts me more.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
Yeah, you want to major in finance? Yeah, what do
you maybe see yourself doing way down the road if
you can think that far?
Speaker 7 (23:23):
I would love to be a financial advisor for a firm.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
We're that interest coming from just from a class, right.
Speaker 8 (23:28):
I know a few people family friends that are financial advisors,
and I think it's just a good path.
Speaker 7 (23:33):
You make some good money.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Running. Gastina Senior on this team a wide receiver. Your
grandma was a big part of your life. Tell us
about her.
Speaker 8 (23:40):
She's always just influenced me. She's been all my games
ever since I was a kid. She's always been cheering
on me and I and she's just very important to me.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Running. We ask every player that appears on this show
to think back from middle school, elementary, high school, an
all time favorite teacher. You gave us three of them.
Let's go to your elementary school teacher. Who's your favorite
elementary school teacher and why?
Speaker 8 (24:01):
Mims heuis And she was my fifth grade teacher and
she was just very kind. She always helped me out
in all of my assignments and was never mean to
me ever.
Speaker 7 (24:12):
And then my.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Favorite go ahead. Middle school was.
Speaker 7 (24:14):
Well, middle school was Miss Plants. I love Miss Plants.
Speaker 8 (24:16):
She was so funny and she was my math teacher,
sixth grade math teacher, and she helps me get comfortable
in middle school when I thought it was scary.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
You gave me one for high school too.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
Who's that mister Black? He's my physics teacher. He's a
cool guy. He liked sports.
Speaker 8 (24:29):
He also went to a university out of state, and
he liked it a lot too.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Coach said that after your four wins to start the
year when you played Harper Creek, that you guys weren't
really ready emotionally. He probably put it a little nicely
nicer than he put it to you guys right after
the game.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Yeah, probably, Yeah, what do you remember.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
About that game? And what did you learn from the
take that that's going to help you because you've rattled
off a couple more wins since then.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
We knew at the start it was going to be
a trap game. Coach Fellows was warning about this. It
was their homecoming. I think the the record was four
and one when we played them. We were five something
like that. But it was gonna be difficult for sure.
Harv Greek's not a bad team, and I honestly think
it was just a reality check in our season and
(25:14):
then we bounced back with a nice one over Lowell
and Cooper Hill.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
But I want to go back to that decision to
play football for the first time, and we talked about
what coach Fellow has told you. What are the other players,
because I'm sure you went to the other guys, some
of the guys, your classmates that are on the football team,
and what kind of question did you ask them before
you decided to play football for the first time.
Speaker 8 (25:32):
Well, you know, I saw a transfer coming in London
Hampton and I was just very excited to be able
to play with him, Will Fussman, star wide receiver. Also,
it was just cool to play around with a lot
of big time guys that are going to have a
bright future in the sport.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Well, boy, those guys are gonna come up on the
microphone later. You said some really nice things about them.
I hope they returned the compliment hopefully. All Right, Brendan,
best of luck to you. You did a great job with that.
We wish you best down in the future. And we
got a nice Pigskin party T shirt. Why don't you
pass the microphone over to our next guest, who is
Bobby Heissma. Bobby Heismer is a right tackle senior on
(26:09):
this team. And Bobby, let's let's get you also playing.
Are you playing for the first time? Also, yep, I'm
gonna ask you this same your second year. Let's go
back to when you hadn't played before and tell me
about when they first came to you and what your
first initial reaction was and of the questions you asked
yourself before you made that decision to commit to that.
Speaker 9 (26:28):
So I was actually one of our basketball games my
sophomore year and then or one of my other coaches
texted me, or actually Will Fusman's dad he told me
to come over and meet or.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Talk to him.
Speaker 9 (26:40):
Coach Fellows is with him, So I introduced myself, we
instroduced each other and just got off.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
To a great relationship there.
Speaker 9 (26:46):
I wasn't really sure what the future was going to
hold because I've played in like middle school and stuff
like that, but never in high school.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
So what surprised you on the positive or negative? Something
that was maybe a little easier than you thought it
might be when you start playing. Maybe something that was
a little harder for you to learn.
Speaker 9 (27:03):
Harder is maybe just like the whole process of it,
just like summer schedule stuff like that, because I've never
had to go through something like that. It's it's definitely
a lot, but it's like all worked at the end
of the day.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
You really like running out of the tunnel before ken Hill,
so I can tell us a little bit of somebody
who hasn't seen it what it's like there at Kennewa.
Speaker 9 (27:19):
That's That's probably one of the most like crazy experiences
I've had, like in sports, at least, just with everybody
like around you, the atmosphere and then just running out
with your teammates stuff.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
It's it's really great experience.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
History is your favorite classic? Can tell us why you
like history.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
I've always been into it since i was young, just
like learning about things that happened before me.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
I guess the night before your home game, you like
to do tacos. Tell us, Bobby, tell us your your
plate of tacos, what's on it? What? What? Just describe
that plate the night before.
Speaker 9 (27:51):
My mom usually makes them, so it's like really good
and she makes them. I'm I'm also super picky, so
I literally just have cheese and beef on it.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
You're I gotta wonder what's your personal record for tacos consumer?
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I can.
Speaker 9 (28:04):
I can get at least ten.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
And these aren't little tiny baby tacos, are they?
Speaker 7 (28:09):
No?
Speaker 2 (28:10):
No, Bobby's a big kid over here, and I don't
blame you on it for that tacos. What about after
the game? Do you guys go out on your own?
Do you go together to eat after a game?
Speaker 9 (28:18):
So home games will go down like down the street
from her school, the Graceful Country Club. It's like it's
like a golfers So we go down there, We'll eat pizza,
sit together, just hang out for a little bit after
the game.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
All right, You you are gonna go to Michigan State
and you want to take sports management, Yeah, and also
business as well. What appealed to you in East Lanting
about MSU that that said, that's where I want to
score to school.
Speaker 9 (28:43):
So I've always been a fan my whole life, and
like I know, I've been told by some people that
have a really good first management program, and that's really
what I've been interested. I've always wanted to be involved
with sports, like football, specifically after high school.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Bobby your uncle is a big part of you your life.
Tell us about your uncle.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
So he was or Gravits police officer. He passed away
before I was born. But just knowing that, like he
put his life online for other people.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
So it's like really inspired me to do the same.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
All right, So what about this team? What do you
think this team does really well? And give me one
thing that this team you know, has to get better at.
Speaker 9 (29:21):
I think we play extremely hard every game, Like coach
Fella said, we don't give up even if we're down
or whatever.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Maybe we don't give up. We keep playing hard.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
You've had a day off today because of the winter break. Yeah,
that's kind of unusual. Did you guys need that or
did you think are you just some go out there
and practice today.
Speaker 9 (29:41):
I think it was good for us just because like
the long stretch that's coming just like or we hoped
may really deeper on so with that stretch, or it's
nice to have it, like the extra dat arrest.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Bobby All So, I ask you finally your all time
favorite teacher from any level of school.
Speaker 9 (29:57):
I'll proily go or my third grade teacher or or
missus Woodman.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Well was special about her? Why did you connect with her.
Speaker 9 (30:03):
Just when I was young, I was really interested in,
like heard the Detroit Tigers and like other sports, and
she had like the same interest, So like or we
could bond about those things and talk to each other
about those things.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
She's still teaching.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
I believe that.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Did you ever tell her how special she was to you?
Speaker 9 (30:17):
I'd spent a while since I've seen her. I've seen
her maybe a few years ago, But I.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Think you should go find her and tell her that
she was a special to you. Would make her a
year if you tell her that she was her favorite teacher. Sir,
all right, great, Bobby Heisman, thanks for stopping by you
along with Brennan. We've got some more Kenwell Hills Nights
to get to, so we'll take a break, come back
with more of the Kicks Picks In Party live from
Fox acker A forty three thirty twenty nights Street Southeast,

going beyond our hospital walls. We're visiting with the Kennowa
Hills Knights players right now. Will Fussman is a junior
wide receiver defensive back. Also plays baseball and basketball, and
(31:29):
Will will ask you about we ask one of your
teammates about that you go right from one to next
to that, right to next sport to the next sport.
Do you ever wish you had some time off to
kind of catch your breath or do you like going
right from AB to A to B two c Uh?
Speaker 10 (31:43):
I like it keeps me active, So never really a downtime,
which I don't get to see friends as much, but
I think the relationships I build, the sports, it's worth
it in the end.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Will you like a science class? Where did that interest
in science come from?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (31:59):
I always kind of like like building stuff and that
kind of so I get to do that a lot
in science, so it's pretty fun to me.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
You're just a junior, so you're still not thinking that
much about school a year where you might like to go,
but you want to take business or engineering? Yeah, what
do you think you'd like to do with that down
the road when you're out of college?
Speaker 10 (32:18):
Kind Of Like I said, I like building stuff, so
something engineering like that.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
I don't really know what.
Speaker 10 (32:24):
But business, I think it would just be cool to
run it by, like not having someone tell me what
to do so I can just do my own stuff.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
We talked with Bobby and Brunner, who hadn't played football
until this year. Tell Us and you were one of
the players that talked with him. You know when they
were he was thinking, they were thinking about it. What
did you tell him about playing football for somebody who
hadn't played before.
Speaker 10 (32:46):
I mean, I've known them ever since I was a
little kid. We've played baseball together our whole lives. So
I just told him they should come out and play.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Be great.
Speaker 10 (32:53):
It's always been I've always loved football. It's always been
my thing.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
What a position are you playing in baseball?
Speaker 4 (32:59):
Center?
Speaker 2 (32:59):
A few tell us about the difference mentality wise, It
because it's totally different playing playing baseball and football.
Speaker 10 (33:06):
Yeah, Baseball it's a lot more mental. So I think
that helps me a lot with football because I can
baseball helps me get my mental aspect a lot better
and improve.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and saying
you're not brown nosing too much to coach down Fellows
a big influence in your life. Tell us why?
Speaker 10 (33:22):
Yeah? I mean I couldn't be who I am football
without him, and he pushed me to be better every day.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Are you like pasta the night before they tell us?
Tell us about that pasta dinner?
Speaker 10 (33:32):
You're gonna have to Yeah, we have team dinners Thursday night,
so I kind of just have to eat that, don't really?
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yeah, tell us what's special about a home game at Kenwehills,
especially with the excitement you guys have got right now
with the last two years, just the program really going
great guns.
Speaker 10 (33:47):
Yeah, it's pretty awesome. The energy and Atmassy of everyone.
The whole community loves it. It's Gray saying, all the
friends and family all there, it's you.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
You gave me more than one elementary school teacher, my
middle school and a couple of elementary tell us about
who your favorite teacher was.
Speaker 10 (34:03):
My favorite was fifth grade Miss Monroe. She was just amazing.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Yeah, all right, how would you assess your play? Let's say,
as a wide receiver, give us something that you do.
You think you do pretty well? Give us something you say,
I know I got to get better.
Speaker 10 (34:21):
At I would say I stretch the field pretty well.
I can work at all levels and can go deep
one play in the next blake and go short. So
I think I do that well. I think I just
need to improve on my routes. Just make them crisper,
as like a whole can always do better at.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
The I'll ask you also what I asked your teammate.
Did you like having the day off today or would
you rather gone out there maybe practiced a little bit.
Speaker 10 (34:46):
I think it was nice just to get her legs
back under us. I think that could also throw us
off a routine, So we'll see tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
What did you do with your day? Tell me I know, besides.
Speaker 10 (34:55):
Sleep slapped, I had on my grandma's lawn.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
All right, can you grow grandma's lawn? Yeah, good for you.
I'm sure grandma appreciates that. Shout out to Grandma. Till
give us Grandma's.
Speaker 10 (35:07):
Name, Grandma be Grandma Barb.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
All right, Grandma Barb. There you go, nanardin the other
day off. That's your guy right there before you, will
Will I wanted to have you tell me a little
bit about Grayson before you pass the mic over to him,
as a person, not as a quarterback. Tell me a
little bit about Grayson.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
He's a great friend of mine.
Speaker 10 (35:23):
He's awesome, it's fun to hang out with.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
All right, let's pass it over to Grayson Fellows, junior quarterback,
second year on the team since joining the program. Grayson,
let's talk about from your sow you were played as
a sophomore now as a junior on the varsity level,
where did you improve the most from sophomore to junior year.
Speaker 6 (35:43):
I think just learning the game more because I feel
like sophomore year kind of just played. But I feel
this year I focus mo on like what defense are
they in, preparing for the game, taking notes and just
that side of the game.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Just preparing more. I guess a lot of development come,
especially for a quarterback in the off season. What will
you do this summer maybe preparing for your senior year
that you didn't do going into this year.
Speaker 6 (36:09):
I think just sticking with a quarterback trainer, and my
dad's always trained me, sticking with him, working on things
I can prove, like my feet, I can clean up,
and just keeping my arm healthy.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
I talked with you this summer earlier, Grayson about him.
I'm gonna ask you again here on the radio side
of it here about the separation between coach Fellows and
dad and how that can be a fine line at times.
Speaker 6 (36:36):
Yeah, definitely can be like in the game, be like
maybe a little bit more on me than other guys
because he knows me so well. But also it kind
of helps me because we can argue and next day
we can still love each other and all that fun stuff.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
I understand you got a pretty good video board for
the high school home games. Tell us about that board.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Yeah, it's great.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
Our coach, coach Larry Campbell, did a great job with
editing those picture videos. It gets us really excited on
third down and stuff and gets the fans hype.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
I understand you've already had a collegiate offer.
Speaker 6 (37:15):
Yeah, Davenport.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
Well that's certainly okay with me. I announced Davenport. You
knew that, Grayson, didn't you as well? All right, let's
tell me about your your uncle who's also a coach
on your staff, Jeremy Fellows.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
Uh, yeah, my uncle Jeremy is It's a great guy
to me. He helps me, especially when my dad's on
my butt. He helps me get through it. And I
always looked up to him because I feel like we
always joke around like his son's my dad's son and
I'm his son because we're just so Like.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Your favorite class at Kenna is math? Where did that
interest in math come from?
Speaker 6 (37:52):
I wouldn't say it's my like it's my favorite because
I think I'm the best at it, but it just
comes easy to you, more easy than Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
All right. I want to ask you about your own
development here. Where do you have to get better? Do
you that you know for sure? Grayson?
Speaker 6 (38:07):
I think I got to get better at studying the
game more and knowing what defense are in right away,
knowing where I'm going with the ball, and then also
I can always work on my feet. At the start
of the season, it was I cleaned it up a bit,
but I can still work on that.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
What did you personally lose not lose? What did you
personally learn from that lone loss on your record right
now against Tarbar Creek.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
I learned that, like, we can't just be the Superman
team every week. We gotta prepare and just because we
have great athletes like London Hampton, we can't just win,
so we have to We can lose to anyone, but
we can also be anyone. So we just got prep
like that every week.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
What's the most fun part of getting football for you, Grayson?
Speaker 6 (38:52):
The most fun with football I have is just hanging
with the guys every day doing something I love since
I was a little kid. And yeah, just hang out
with my friends. And I think all all my friends
are from football, So that's where.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Who keeps things lose? Usually there's one guy on a
team when things are getting maybe a little drudgery, maybe
during the summer workouts, one guy that you can always
count on to crack people up and bring a little
humor to the whole situation. Who would that be? I
think it's Mitch, my.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
Right guard.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
He's so funny. Mitch. How does he get people keeping eye?
Speaker 6 (39:27):
He just crack jokes all day long, and he's just
when things go down, he tries to pick everyone up.
Who's the best singer on this team? And you can't
say yourself man, definitely not running Ampton. I just saw
a video of him seeing not him.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
Oh maybe Bryce and Arnold, Bryce and Arnold. Okay, you
know you you you violated a rule there, Grayson. You don't.
You don't pick on a guy who's gonna get the
microphone after you. You know, he's a pretty bad singer.
Speaker 6 (39:58):
I was gonna ask you who's the singer? But that way, yeah, London,
it's London. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
You will have a chance to rebut that and we'll
make you sing maybe but there prove it wrong there,
all right, But any case, we wish you the best.
Thanks so much, Grayson Fellows and Will Fussman. Great job
and best of luck this week and down the road.
Thank you all right, will take a break, come back
with it yet another Ken of Hills who who may
or may not sing for us? Stay with us on
the Fox Motors Pigskin Party Live from Fox Accura on
(40:25):
twenty ninth Street Southeast, final segment of our penultimate show
of the season. Looking at the guys seeing if they
even know what pen ultimate means. It's our second to
the last. Pen Ultimate means the second to the last.
There to see I taught you something tonight. Our final
(40:45):
show of the year will be one week from tonight
and will be just down the road at Fox Honda.
Right here on twenty ninth Street. Right, we're twenty ninth
Street and East Beltline. Join up Fox Hana. We will
have the Catholic Central Cougars join us for our final
show of the twenty twenty five high school football season.
Looking forward to that. Always a fun night we're visiting
(41:05):
right now with the Kennel Hills Nights. London Hampton is
a junior on this team, an outstanding football player also
basketball and London and I also we asked one of
your teammates that you really enjoy running out of the
tunnel for your home games. Tell us about that. Set
the stage for somebody who's never seen a Kendall Hills game,
what that's like.
Speaker 11 (41:25):
I just love again to spend time with my brothers
before I go to war with them and just get
my mind right.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
You're a history buff. Is that American history? Worlds? Where
did that interest come from?
Speaker 11 (41:36):
I love American history and then like to see where
we came from and like how.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
We Yeah, yeah, no, no, that's right, that's good. Any
special era that you like like you know, fifty years
ago World Wars.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
Or I love the world War World Wars.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
Yeah, that's fine as well. Are you also like pasta
the night before a game? Tell describe that that meal aposse?
You got what you're having to night before a game?
Speaker 11 (42:04):
Team dinner with the guys. Uh, pasta and then I'll
have breadsticks and a gatorade with that.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Oh YEAHI pilot on it pretty well, yes, sir. All right,
you've already getting some Division I football offers. You just
got one recently from Cincinnati. Yes, sir, did that surprise
you or did you know that might be coming?
Speaker 11 (42:24):
It surprised me. They haven't really been talking to me,
but they just wanted me to come for a game
day visit.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
And then yeah, are you going to go? Do you
know when you're going to go? Is it just sure?
Speaker 4 (42:34):
I just went last went?
Speaker 2 (42:35):
You went last week?
Speaker 4 (42:36):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Well, I want you to tell me a little bit
about that, because you know, most most young men don't
get a chance to experience there. Tell us go through
that weekend London. What we do with that recruiting trip
was like when you got there and what you saw
when the time you were down there starting did you
start Friday.
Speaker 4 (42:48):
Night Saturday morning.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Tell me about Saturday.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
I got there, they faeden me and then.
Speaker 11 (43:00):
We just walked down to the field and then I
got to meet some of the coaches before the game,
and then they introduced themselves and then we just watched
the game. And then the coaches met with me after
and they said they would like to offer me a
scholarship to play at Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Were you on the sideline for the game?
Speaker 4 (43:18):
I was in the stands. I was on the sideline
warm up.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
All right, tell us about Carrie Willis.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
He's my cousin. He played in an NFL.
Speaker 11 (43:26):
He's inspired me always since I've been a young kid,
and I've always wanted to be like him and.
Speaker 4 (43:31):
Just yeah, played at Michigan State, right, yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
All right? What did you learn from him? Do you
hope to carry.
Speaker 11 (43:38):
On with I've been learning a lot from him. He's
mentoring me right now. He's been teaching me about the game.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
London Hampton's all time favorite teacher from what level of school?
Speaker 11 (43:48):
My favorite teacher is probably miss O'Neil from seventh grade.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
What made her special to you?
Speaker 11 (43:53):
She's always believed in me since I was a young
kid and said, I'm going to go places when I
get older.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
What's the best part of But besides running out of tunnel?
What's the best part of a home game of Kenwell Hills, London?
Speaker 11 (44:03):
The best part about a home game is seeing all
my family there and all the friends and people that
I know, and how packed the stadium gets.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
All right, Frank Ocean your favorites group. You got to
educate me here. It's probably a generational thing. Who's Frank Ocean?
Speaker 4 (44:19):
He's a singer.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
What kind of music?
Speaker 4 (44:25):
Just like calm music and relaxing?
Speaker 2 (44:27):
Oh? You you like to be calm? You don't? What
about before a game? Do you listen to cal music then?
Or do you? Are you cranking it up?
Speaker 4 (44:33):
Then we're cranking it up in the locker room?
Speaker 2 (44:36):
So how's the music decided in the Kenwell Hills night
locker room?
Speaker 9 (44:39):
Is?
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Dude? Does somebody in particular choose it?
Speaker 4 (44:42):
Brennicic Astinez usually has.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
Aux All right, what is it? Do you like his choices?
Speaker 4 (44:47):
They're pretty good most of the time, Yes.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
Most of the time, not all of the time. But
you get your passing grade as well as well. All right, London, again,
you have looking at hopefully playing Division one football? What
what do you where do you have to get better?
Where do you you know you have to get better
in order to be successful at the collegiate level.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
I have to learn more.
Speaker 11 (45:04):
I really haven't learned a lot growing up, and I
just have to study more and get in the playbook.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
All right. What do you want to do in the
off season from a technique standpoint? Where do you got
to work on that? Again, you're still just a junior,
so you got always to go. But what are you
gonna work on this summer individually?
Speaker 11 (45:19):
Just getting more patient at running back because sometimes I'll
get too impatient, get to the hole before the lineman
and nothing, we'll be there.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
So just slowing down and lending it's helping up.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
All right. How did you enjoy your day off? Did
you enjoy it or would you rather practice today?
Speaker 11 (45:35):
I mean, I always enjoy getting day rest, but I
feel like it might mess us up a little with
our routine.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
And yeah, what's one thing that you know that you
can get better at right now? As a running back?
Speaker 11 (45:49):
Like I'll say again, just being more patient and just
waiting for the holes.
Speaker 2 (45:55):
All right? Tell us about the excitement at Kenwall Hills because,
as coach mentioned, we talked about you haven't had this
kind of excitement in a while with home of the night.
Tell us what's going on in the hallways in the
school year.
Speaker 11 (46:05):
The kids are just talking and just riled up and
excited about this because it hasn't happened for a really
long time.
Speaker 2 (46:11):
And you and you're homely this week right against Greenville.
Speaker 4 (46:14):
Yes, sir, did you finish up all right?
Speaker 2 (46:16):
London? Thanks for joining us. We got a T shirt
for you. Thanks so much, good job and best of
look to you down the road.
Speaker 6 (46:21):
