Well, we'll start with the home standing Dutch. They got
to fill the gaps.

They've got to get up there, be aggressive in the
run game, make sure that Belding doesn't do what Comtok
Park did last week and gash them up the middle.
And they also need a good early start if they
let Belding get up a couple of scores.

Teams can just start to take the air out of
the ball and you and really wild away that clock
if you're Belding. The key for them, they have to
limit those explosive players themselves. They cannot let Thin Galloway
and the rest of the crew to have those large
chunk plays, Eli Walters, I mean, they just can't let
those guys go fifty sixty yards to pop. They have

to make Holland go down the field and also offensively,
they just have to really be consistent and avoid any
lulls in execution.

or tackle on our side got a quick start.

I mean, they've been pretty good at going firing off
the ball, but the problem was that time the left
tackle about two yards upfield before the ball even got
off the ground.

And that's an easy call for the official.

who's much smaller than he is, but yet they're twins.

Fun to say number sixty is one of only three
seniors that start on defense for will Sippin, the fourth
year head coach. Here in Holland, Xander Asparzan number nineteen,
a senior is the bandit linebacker than William Bolt, only
a soft one number fifty eight, but they like him.

watching on that first play from scrimmage. He's one of

So far you can tell why they can be explosive.

Yeah, trips to the right, one receiver left, little miscommunication
are thrown between two wide receivers. Galloway was in the
area and also was Andrew Anderlick.

I was supposed to be Anderlick there.

He was supposed to turn to to the right, and
he turned to his left when he was running up
the field, and that's what happened. Luckily nobody else in
the area because that could have been an easy interception.

Two wide receivers to the right, make that three to
the right, one to the left, to the watch side
of the field.

His man, that's Murphy makes a man miscross the midfield
stripe and into Belding territory to the forty four yard line.

Walters takes a shot and nice job by Volkma Strong
running inside the forty keeps the feat Churnding and he's

the way this is setting up in the early going,
we might be in for a shootout.

Yeah, let's let it breathe a little bit, but for sure,
this is kind of the game we thought we might
get when and I discussed coming out here, because both
teams like to try to light up that score. But
I like what Holland's doing so far, spreading the field
out but also mixing in those tough runs.

Van Dyke, by the way back in the game, got
taped up swinging out in the flats complete making a
man miss. Another one hits side of twenty five trying
down inside the twenty and knocked out of bounds after
the catch that time. Tanner king Aray the senior one
of the leading wide receivers coming into the contest, twenty
eight catches, three or forty and three touchdowns on the season. Obviously,

the main guy is Finn Galloway with twenty five catches,
almost five hundred yards and seven touchdowns.

Well, there you see what Kingery can do.

Gets out in the flat there and makes a really
nice move to get extra yardage.

Now they jump it across the middle, making a man
miss still on his feet inside the ten down to
the nine yard line on the grab. Anderlick so using
all of his wide receivers is the sophomore quarterback Eli Walters.
And look at his numbers, Bucks, you know, eighty nine
of one hundred and thirty four through four games, he's
got thirteen hundred yards passing twelve touchdowns. The big thing
is seven interceptions.

Got to clean that up a little bit.

They go wildcat here and on the Carrie Volkoma just
power football right at that Belding defense. As he plows

and I think what happened there for Walters is that
he thought that Kingery was still gonna keep going and

Good pursuit there out on right, Dawson Donovan handoff. That's
the guy who was so crucial the power back Tigan
Van Dykin back in there, ankle taped up and on.

Better job by the Holland defense so far in this series.
As they give up five, they do get the first

down to keep the drive a line for Belding, but
can't give up big chunks against this offense that, to
be honest with even their coach said in our notes,
like you referred to Buchino in the pregame, Monty Price
saying we haven't clicked yet, got shut out, which I
can remember the last time a Belding team's gotten shot
out twenty four to nothing in week two.

I mean, recent is a good team.

Yeah, don't get us wrong here, but they scored sixty
three right the week before, and you're thinking, okay, how
do we go from sixty three to zero and then eight?

How defensive line movement though by Holland up front?

Because money Price would have probably had a small stroke

But because that's what he wants cleaned up. He feels
like they're there.

He was really excited about this team, as you said
in the preseason, just they haven't put it all together,
and it's tough.

I mean, come on, we were on high school once.
We didn't all have it together all the time. But
now you're trying to get twenty two guys or thirty
guys to get it all together.

Sometimes it doesn't happen.

Right away, handoff, left side counteraction across the forty close

carry was nick right. And what's interesting about the quarterback
Dawson Donovan. He's not a running quarterback. You look at
his stats and not impressive at all. He's just kind
of a guy that is their glue guy. Obviously they
don't throw a lot, and he hasn't been bad throwing it,

but I mean you're talking to like fifteen attempts totally
in four weeks, so he's just got to kind of
manage the offen which is a little bit different because
usually Beldings tends running quarterbacks. But they got enough guys,
as we've seen on display already, they can carry this foot.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
I mean remember when they had Sevinski a couple of
years ago. He clearly, yes, this is one of the
featured players. But I think that it's okay that Donovan
does just what he's doing because sometimes you need.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
That wing back split the t to the right side,
pitch to King, King trying to pick his way good
job in that Holland defense, and they stop him for
a short game at the forty four with forward progress.
Two guys in there defensively for the Dutch Brayden Trevino,
the sophomore defensive lineman, also garzagain the linebacker.

Yeah, and did a really good job too. I think
it was Bolt or Gars. I didn't see the number,
but they did a really good job of setting the edge,
getting to the outside, not letting the running back get
outside the numbers and break it for a long game.
He turns it back inside in much better pursuit by
Holland that time than the first series that we saw,
and they get out there and stop him for a

got him. When you run, that thing gets real tight.
Well that's what happens with Eli Walters. When he starts
to run, that cone of vision gets real small and
you limit who he's gonna be able.

tuning in after one. Belding led it and then some
turnover was really costly. Holland did dodge a bullet right

then the two point conversion was good. Holland answering on

Then Belding right back down the field, ending with Dawson
Donovan's ninety yard touchdown run. The two point conversion failed

straight scores. But then Holland fumbling the football on their
ensuing possession Andreas Volkum up fum in his own and excuse.

Van dyke in one yard touchdown plunge Donovan as a

we don't know about that, but I feel like if

believe that these teams are that far apart. Now Building
is playing impressively and we'll get to their keys in

a second. But I just think for Howland, it's just
a mistakes and their margin for air is so thin
playing against a team like Belding. That's why it's thirty
to seven. The key for Belding. They gotta forget it's
thirty to seven. They gotta come out and play. Monty
Price has been begging them to play a full forty
eight minutes. I don't know if he's gonna be satisfied
or not tonight, but he got pretty good first twenty four.

He is going to look for that same effort in
the second half because he knows that Holland offense can
explode on demand, and if they have a couple of
things go the other way, this could be a ballgame again.

defense as far as starters five on offense, and your

two star players on offense, only sophomores, so exciting times
ahead for the Dutch good crowd here.

Yeah, I mean they've got twelve seniors out of thirty
eight roster, so plenty of kids gonna be back next year.

really respect and admire what he's done with his Belding
program after coming from Reed City, trying to restore what
Erth Zigler had back in the day, and after that penalty,
he's just it's like you said, he's trying to get perfection.
He's just it's just out of their reach there, and
that's what you can't have.

Beldings really been picking on in between the guards.

play there by Segovia and I think just overall by

and they throw it deep. Segovia makes a heck of
an athletic play is able to make the interception.

season early because they didn't have the numbers, and he
had to build this team from literally the ground up.
And I think he's done a tremendous job in the
short time that he's had to get this type of
talent on the field. But they got to grow. They

gotta have some growing pains, and this is one of

He got a program that it was kind of felt
like they lost their way a little bit. And in
his time here at Belding Boy, he has really got
them rolling.

of the Rams and the OK White. West Catholic came
from behind and beat spring Lake twenty one to fourteen
and the OK Black interesting score. It was zero zero
Catholic Central and thorneppelel Kellogg after at the half and
it was three to nothing Catholic Central after three and
then it was strange the only touchdown of the game.
Thornippel Kellogg had the ball and a option pitch was

intercepted by Catholic Central and run back for a touchdown.
Catholic Central wins it ten nothing. Thornepper Kellogg plays very
well in the loss, though Catholic Central State's perfect at

with two point conversions and everything else, all that math

Holland right down the field out of the locker room,

thirteen after the pat failed.

But after that it was just Belding, Belding, Belding, Belding, and.

quarter developing the running clock again, turnovers an issue for

I know really enjoys this as their home facility for
high school football and beautiful press box to call the
game from tonight. But we can't say thanks enough to
Blake Muller and everyone here at Holland High. Never done
a Holland football game, I think before on a Game
of the Week feature. We've done basketball before, but tough
one for them tonight. But I tell you exciting to
see how they're going to grow in the future. Yeah,
I mean you look at the score.

We talked about it, you know, a little bit of
ad nauseum during the game, I think, yeah, And they
had four turnovers like they did last week. And you're
just not able to beat quality opponents when you have
that type of game. But you can see kind of
the the bear bones, the foundation of a team that

a sophomore quarterback. I really like his game, and a
couple guys in the secondary slash receiver corps yet Finn
Galloway who's a sophomore, Trey Knox who's a sophomore. You've

junior and Xavier Murphy really the only senior. I guess
king Rie is too, but I mean there's just so
many good young players here that they can build with.

and he had to build it from the ground up.
And to get that type of tailing out here after
that type of thing really credit to coach Stiffen and

be able to stop them or the Coyotes from Reed

Talking about Noah Rittenberg, number twenty four, the junior running back,
you'll be the air apparent next year, but getting some
quality time and he had three rushing touchdowns to night.
I mean, if that's not dependable. I don't know what
is You're right. I mean he comes in in a
key points for Vandykin. Then he gets to good play
relief duty in the backfield.

After they get the score to a comfortable level, and
he kind of he was like the closure tonight. So
they had the starter, right, he went seven strong innings
and then they bring in Rittenberg the closer, and he
had three touchdowns, all the short yarded variety. But a
