and Grand Rapids Christian met the regularseason. It was a two point game,

forty nine forty seven. Both haveplayed outstanding schedules and you look at
this now it comes down to,as we saw in the game before this,
the two best teams in Division twoand I think we've got him here
in Warren link A, Grand RapidsChristian Tonight. Yeah, this is going
to be an absolute battle. Bothteams want to get after it. Defensively,
great guard play good bigs on theinterior. So I think it's going
to come down to kind of oneof those supporting cast members, maybe a

guy coming off the bench to sparkthe team, knock down a couple threes,
whatever it might be, to kindof give him that extra boost,
because this is a very evenly matchedgame here and it's going to come down
to the wire expectedly here at theend. Former spartan Xavior Tom had led
that addition to the Grand Affis ChristianEagles to the state championship game, but
they lost to Clarkston. That wasin Division one. Grandapens Christian has now

dropped out a Division two. Buthere's something to think about. And when
you think about the history of GrandRapids Christian, you've been going back to
before was Grand Rapids Christian always hadsome good boys basketball teams. But they're
playing for history tonight with ed coachEric Taylor. Last time they won a
state championship in boys basketball nineteen thirtyeight when they called it the Lower Peninsula

This is their time, this istheir moment. He's been ever since he
took that head coaching job with sixseven years ago. He's been striving to
get to the Breslen they're here now. They got to handle their business,
play confident as they have all season, and show out here on the biggest

ranks amongst the best at Triunity history, and he wouldn't give me a straight
answer. He didn't like to compareteams. He said each are different,
but he was definitely thrilled to bringhome his sixth state title and his twelfth
appearance in the state title game.Twelve appearances, Like you said, that's

amazed. I mean six runner up, six state championship trophies. They need
a new case there at the newTrinity Christian High School. I'm sure they've
got it because they got a beautifulnew gym. I know he's he said
about I remember covering games in theold days at the Box or where they
played at Grandville High School when theymoved their games there, because when they
had Brian Fultus and Chris Gamon,I mean they would just pack it out.
Yeah. I mean this has beena dynasty over the last twenty twenty

five years. I mean some greatplayers, but this team was very impressive
here today and they have to rankamongst the top. You talk about that
senior class, four straight trips tothe present Center, which I think heard
of in the state of Michigan.By the way, times changed. The
old Grandville High School that I playedis now the Grandville Middle School, as

Orchard Lake Saint Mary's, they punchedtheir ticket to their first boys basketball state
championship in Division one, the highestrank of the state of Michigan, as
they beat North Farmington sixty three tofifty two. They end the year at
twenty seven and one. And speakingof show, Trey McKinney junior guards last
ward. He plays wherever he wants. At six' five, about two
twenty five, thirty two points andten rebounds. At one point he had

as many points as North Farmington did. Yeah, he is just a man
amongst boys, does whatever he wantson the floor. The entire Michigan State
coaching staff sitting there front row towatch him, including a lot of the
team, a lot of the playerMichigan State players came down to support Trey

ago, wrapping up congratulations. Downon the west side of the state near

the Indiana border and Division three,it was the Bobcats of Nileswine beating Detroit
Old Redford and a very athletic,high flying type of game fifty six forty

because when we covered Fenton Harbor theregional final against this Grand Rafts Christian bunch,
they came in with just one losson the season and it was to

gonna be a track meet up anddown this floor. It's gonna be key,

a little turnover prone. The GrandRappids Christian guards the last couple of
games against pressure. If they canhandle the pressure, get him into their
offense. Get the ball to NateJohnson, who's playing his best basketball this
season. Get it inside the JayalenAwen on that block where he's very efficient.
I think Grand Rapts Christian can havesuccess early in this game. And
I look at the matchup with JalenAllen Gut who was lanky and frame but

the long arm six seven, six' eight whatever you want to call him
against t J. Minor to MarianMinor. I mean, because this guy's
a wide body, he's six fine, but he goes to fifty true absolutely,
and you gotta keep Jalen Allen onthe block. He can shoot threes,
he's a capable shooter, but heneeds to be living on that block.
He's a good free throw shooter.Put pressure on the defense. That's
where he's at his best with thatjump hook over the right and left shoulder.
