Speaker 2 (00:20):
Oh he was crapping.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I think you made the cats and dead blot up.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Bigger tip cats, I know.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Plus, you'll hear from an area coach every week and
our Coaches Corner segment see where the guys sit on
their top ten team rankings and who will be named
the Uptown Chiefs game Players of the week. It's the
LMCU High School Football Preview Show powered by Lake Michigan
Credit Union. Now Here are your hosts Brett Bakita and
Jason Hutton.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Always said when it's the final time. The season finale
of the high school Football Preview Show brought to you
all high school football season long here on ninety six
to one the game by our great title sponsor, Lake
Michigan Credit Union. If you miss did sixty four hundred
dollars for year three of our Touchdowns for Kids campaign.
Thank you LMCU donating fifty dollars for every touchdown for
our Lake Shore Game of the Week that Jay called
(01:09):
for our ninety six to one the game game of
the week that I called with Buck Gino. And here
we go District Final Action Week eleven on the Drive
to Ford Field, presented by Vandalon Hoo Improvement. We got
a great show coming up for you, Jay. Our uptown
cheapskate players of the week, Jail have some honorable mentions.
I'll have our Grand Rapids and our Holland Lake Shore
Player of the Week. And also in the Montel Construction
(01:30):
coaches corner. Can you believe with the season they've had,
we haven't had this guy on earlier. That's my fault.
But Huttsonville at coach Brent Sandy, what a job the
Eagles did this year. They've rattled off now nine straight wins.
They lost in Week one, a tough one to Howl
who's still unbeaten by the way, and a lot of
people like Indivision one to make a run to Ford Field.
We'll see about that. But they are the outright okay,
(01:50):
Red champs. I mean, just everyone in their way. They've
taken care of Granville, Rockford, East Kentwood twice now and
what a finish last week.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yeah, incredible right there behind and then they get their
care Ian Jenkins to come in, they to run the
field goal unit on and they get the playoff for
the final play and he makes it the thirty five
yard er to win the football game and they walk
off and celebrating. Heartbreaker for Ty Spencer and East Kentwood.
And I'll tell you what the Falcons are going to be.
They're going to be something to deal with in the future,
no question about it. But the Hudsonville dream lives on
(02:18):
and they get a rematch with Granville this week. How
impressive was Grandville to going to Rockford last week and win.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
I want to talk about his roster too, I mean
you've alluded to this. I mean they've got at the
lower level some players. Now everyone kind of gets brought
up for the playoff roster, right, So they've got a
lot of sophomores and freshmen that they've added. But you
look at all levels, they're really building this thing back
up for Hutsonville. And they've got guys that are helping them,
that are sophomores that are juniors there maybe playing out
a position because they already have a guy they're like
(02:43):
a Griffin Baker at quarterback who's a two year starter
for them. I mean, this depth of this Eagles team
is really I think the strength of this team.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Yeah, they play a lot of seniors and a lot
of guys that have played a lot of arsity football,
a lot of really good football players. But when then
they go to their backups, there's just not I don't
even think there's really any drop off. I really depth
is what you need at that D one level, and
Hudsonville has that depth. And then you talk about a
JV team that was just off the charts as well,
and now you bring a bunch of those kids up
for the playoffs. I don't know how much, if any,
they'll get to play, but there's a lot of depth
(03:11):
of talent for the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
So he's coming up in our second segment Montel Construction
Coaches Corner, and then our third segment with a four pack.
We're getting down to the nitty gritty, but body, we
have some good matchups here, as we always seem to.
For Week two, with the district finals with head to
head West Michigan clashes, but listen to these games. Tom
Kendra has McBaine at North Mschgan given the Norseman some
love out of the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division they
(03:33):
were the champs. And Division seven. I know you like
Brandnaps Catholic Central at West Catholic, the rematch where it
seemed like every college coach was on the sideline with
you last year watching this one. It was a heck
of a football game. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
And those two they're going to command a huge crowd
because they are unbelievable programs. There's an incredible rivalry there
and while this one might not have the magnitude of
last year's, it's going to be another really good football game.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah. Division five and again, like a half point gave
West Catholic the home field advantage in this one. You
look at the points, that's how close it was. Was
ground up the Catholic Central seven o'clock kickoff for that
one on Friday night. I know, Buck Gina like Zealand
West at Saint Joe's Division in three and a little
bit of West Michigan flavor there with the Saint Joe's
head coach who obviously knows all about Zeeland West and
John Chiltep.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Andrew Prattle. He's done
a great job. He did a great job at Olgama
Heights before he came to Holland. He got Holland to
the playoffs. The Dutch haven't been there since he left,
and then now he's doing it with Saint Joe. Just
you're in and you're out. And there were Smackwest champion
this year.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
And I'm going to stay in Division three and do
Coopersville at Forest Hill Central right River City's Alliance Champs
against Forest Hill Central. I think has played such a
strong schedule, like every team that we talk about the
OK Gold but you look at it. They had to
go back to back with East Grand Rapids in Week
nine and then Week one of the playoffs last week,
and they shut him out both times.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Jay, Yeah, it's impressive. I mean, the Forest Hill Central
defense has been outstanding. It's kind of what led them
to that state title a year ago. And despite the
fact that they lost their head coach who was a
defensive coach and a bunch of really good players. I mean,
they're still getting it done and now they get to
face Bo Harris, that vaunted Coopersville offense.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, let's not forget I know they had coaches and
there anymore. He retired and Tim Rodgers and they lost
a great senior class and then one of the players
leaving early just because he upped his class as far
as recruitment. But they are the defending Division three state
champs and the Rangers of FHC. The drive to Ford
Field this week for Week two persented by vandal On
Home Improvement, And let's take you through our LMCU games
(05:21):
of the week. Jay and Tom Kendra are going to
be at the rematch we had it the regular season
with Butchino and I same venue Sailor Stadium BC at
Muskeg and Mona Shores. And you guys think this is
going to be maybe even better than that two point
victory from Mona Shores back in what week three?
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Yeah, week four, I don't know how much better it
could get. That was Mona Shore's first home game of
the season. It was the Sailor Salute. It came right
down to the end. Byron Center had the ball driving
and Micah Carofell makes an interception to clinch the game,
and Carfel's just continue to make big play after big
play for the Sailors. And that's Shorges really have to
lean on guys like Micah Carrafell and Jonathan Pittman and
those seniors to make plays, those experienced guys. But the
(05:59):
Bulldogs have them too, in Land and Tongate and Isaac
Lee and Luke Alaska and the pain Brothers. I mean,
the list goes on. There's no shortage of talent in
this game. I love this matchup. The stakes are even higher, right,
I mean, we didn't even know that that was going
to decide the Okay Green title at the time because
Muskegan was involved, but both able to beat Mskegan, so
that one did decide the Okay Green title. This one's
going to decide, potentially the team that makes the run
(06:19):
all the way to fort Field and Vision two.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Here's the thing about Land and Tonggate that just amazed
me when I read it before the Northview game. They
had a big game in that game. So he's got
over a thousand yards rushing now I think he's over
fourteen hundred plus As far as throwing the football, three
interceptions all season, long. They all came in that game,
So credit Motor Shores defensively, they made some plays in
a couple of them in the red zone where Byron
(06:41):
said it looked like they were going in to at
least get a field goal, if not a touchdown. They
could have obviously swung that game in favor of the Bulldogs.
So doesn't have another reception besides that game all season
long to this point. But I was amazed only one
fumble Jay for as much as they ask him to
carry the football, one fumble. That's it. You know, the
Bulldogs are just excited and salivating for a chance to
(07:04):
get at Mona Shores again in this rematch.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Well, this is how you get to nine to one, right,
I mean, you need your guys, your experienced guys. Tongue
Gates started as safety as a sophomore and I was
his second year starting at quarterback. I mean, you need
to protect the football, and that's what he's done, That's
what Jonathan Pittman has done. That's why these two teams
are nine to one, and they're two of the very
best in the state.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
And then for our game in Division one, we haven't
called Hudsonville all year We did have Grandville early on
against Rockford. They lost that, but then they win the
rematch in the playoffs in week one, last Friday night,
Grandville at Hudsonville border war rivalry game, and you called
it Jay, last couple of weeks you said, you know what,
I'm putting Granville back in my top ten. You know,
look at the what they've done, look at who they've beaten,
(07:40):
and I think they're playing better defensively. So Granville's there
knocking on the door. Could they be your district champs
out of this tough OK Red district and knockoff Hudsonville,
especially after the Eagles got the scare last week?
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Sure they could. I mean they just went into Rockford
ever twenty four to seven in that game in the
fourth quarter. So anything is possible. And Grandville is trend.
I mean, they played an incredibly difficult schedule, right, They
started zero to three. Since that point, they've won six
of the last seven. The only loss in that stretch
was to Hudsonville thirty five to sixteen.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
All Right, here we go. It's gonna be a lot
of fun. Don't forget six thirty with the pregames on
both stations, one oh seven mus the Moose for Byron
Center and Mona Shores for Grandville and Hudsonville ninety six
won the game with the JHS Family Stores pregame show.
All right, let's go into our games last week and
we'll talk about your game. First in Division four. What
a finish you and TK had at Forest Fills Eastern.
(08:30):
Tough one for the Hawks. Whitehall gets it done twenty
eight to twenty one. And is there anything we sort
of say this about Carsavas that Cam Thompson can't do
for Whitehall?
Speaker 4 (08:38):
No, I don't think there is. His ninety one yeard
interception return for a touchdown turned that game and the
last play the first half. Instead of fourteen to nothing
or potentially seventeen or twenty one nothing, it was fourteen
to seven and they just kind of flipped the script
on it there. But I thought it was that offensive
line for Whitehall that really took this game over in
the second half, and they ran the football both with
Cam Thompson and Gavin Kraner. Craner hadn't played in Week
nine and lost to Portland. Comes back from a knee
(08:59):
and you know they were down, Ryan Goodrich, They're outstanding
running back towards ACL and the win over Lunnington in
Week seven. So I just thought that offensive line is
what won them that game. And now Brett they get
the rematch with Big Rapids. Don't forget last year Whitehall
was pointing towards that rematch with South Christian in the
regional final and they got beat on their home field
by Big Rapids. They had to line up for a
field goal and got a block there at the end
(09:20):
and Big Rapids ran off with the win. They get
a shot at revenge now going two Big Rapids to
face a really good Cardinals team.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I saw Cam Thompson against Junity Christian on the road
in Week one after he hadn't played quarterback his entire
varsity football career until that was his first game hopping
back in where he was the starter at the start
of the game. What did you feel about what he
can do at the quarterback position and maybe like a
Carson VISs for South Christian makes it a wild card
(09:48):
game against Big Raphids.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
I mean he's a playmaker. I mean he's the guy
you need to get the football in his hands in
every play, and that's why he's the quarterback I mean
they had a huge fourth and five on the Forces
eastern forty on that game winning touchdown drive and he
converts it by about the link to the football. I mean,
he just knows how to make the play that needs
to be made to give his chance, his team a
chance to win. I mean he's the kind of guy
you got to have. Like we talk about Luke Laska,
who we talk about, Jonathan Pittman, I mean, Kim Thompson's
(10:11):
that guy.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Let's go there next Byron Center in our game, gets
it done over North for your thirty eight to seventeen.
What historic season for Ryan Oshnock and the Wildcats. It
comes to a close, but obviously you know, unbeaten team
having to go on the road and take on a
one lost Byron Center team that's really good and getting
healthy Jay twenty one unanswered points in the third quarter.
They came out of the locker room with their hair
(10:32):
on fire and watch the pain Brothers. They have taken
it to another level. Campaign did not play against Mona
Shores in Week four and also Luke Laska, who you
refer to, did not. That's two big guys for Mark
Cisco to have, and they are physical in this matchup
with Mona Shores, which we know the Sailors love to
play physical.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Well, that game that went over Northview, you know it's
at middle eight, right, I mean it was three to
three and then Byron Center scores before the half and
they come out with the first twenty one points to
the second half and that just kind of did it
right and it turned a three to three game into
an easier looking win for the Bulldogs. And that's the
power they have and the playmakers they have. So this
is gonna be a great matchup with Mona Shores and
(11:11):
I'm really looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
All Right, we're gonna dive in to Brent Sandy in
the coaches corner, Hudsonville Eagle said, coach outright, Okay, Red Champs,

Construction or call them direct to schedule. You're free in home.
Estmen at six one six, eight oh five, forty nine
sixty six. We welcome in for the first time this season,
which is my bad the outright okay Red Conference champion
head coach of the Hudsonville Legals, Brent Sandy, We're excited
(12:15):
to see them for the first time in person in
a rematch with Granville coach, First and foremost, congratulations on
a conference ground.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
Yeah, thank you. It's a huge achievement, Okay, Red such
a good conference. Really proud of our guys to be
able to accomplish that this year.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Coach, what's been the biggest difference for your team this year?
Because nine straight wins, nine to one, you're having a
heck of a season. What's been the difference from maybe
the last couple of years for this group experience?
Speaker 5 (12:42):
You know, in leadership. We started the fewest number of
seniors last year. The team that I've been around at Hudsonville.
So a lot of these kids who are starting now
had an opportunity to start last year. A few of
them are three year starters in just you know, in
in the Okay Red It's it's so competitive, it's so tough.
(13:03):
Having that game, you know, varsity experiences has been huge
for us. And then we've just got incredible leaders on
our team right now that you know, are just really
driven and hold themselves in their teammates to really high standards.
So I think those two things have just been huge.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
I look at your depth and the number of weapons.
I'll start on the offensive side of the football coach,
and I got a chance to see your preseason scrimmage.
It was a good one. When you look at Zeland West,
the likes of West Catholic and East Grand Rapids, and
obviously everyone's trying to show well and see what they've got.
But Griff and Baker back at quarterback, you've got a
couple of home run hitters at running back, You've got
guys a wide receiver. I mean, really impressed with the
(13:42):
weapons you have, and they all take turns, right they do.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
Yeah, we talked yesterday about just being selfless, and you know,
when it's your opportunity, you perform. And you know, Griff
as a two year starter for US, he's just grown
leaps and bounds from last year to this year, you know.
And then carsondikeshras a wide receiver as a three year kid.
And we had a kid, Brady van Lake, who competed
with Griffin as the starting quarterback this year, was a
(14:09):
dynamic athlete on our JV team last year and he's
made some really nice plays for US this year as well.
And then of course Bryce and Owen is a running
back and get a you know, Jack Wills is an
All conference tight end too. So we feel like we've
got a lot of different kids that we, you know,
just try to find what they do best and can
use them accordingly.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
It's funny, I've watched some of your games, you know,
after the fact, and you get ahead and you put
in your second team guys, and there's just not much
drop off. I mean, you're still so good even when
your backups are in there. And you brought up Brady
van Lake, I mean, it seems like you're using him
more right. We've seen him at receiver lately, quarterback a
little bit. I don't know, if you call it wildcat
or whatever. Last week against these camp what how important
(14:49):
is he and his role as it grows in your offense.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
You know, that kid is incredible. Kids did of good
things about him. One he's an explosive athlete, but two
he's a great kid. And you know, and we came
in with Griffin. Even though Griffin started last year most
of our games, Brady did start, you know, the game
against Grahamville in the regular season and had a phenomenal game,
gave us an opportunity to win. Last year Griffin was
(15:14):
out with an injury. Brady had played in a couple
other games and they competed for a spot, and you know,
Griffin Griffin won out. But Brady hasn't missed a beat.
You know, whatever he can do to help out the team,
and yeah, we use them. We have some packages where
to throw my quarterback from a running back, wide receiver
find ways again the ball. You know, he had in
(15:35):
an explosive run Friday night against he'sk what made some
big catches and things like that too. So and he's
just accepted his role and just kind of like whatever
we put him at, he's excited to do and help
the team.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Hutsonville head coach Brent Sandy joined us here in the
Monte Construction Coaches Corner, our season finale of the high
school football preview show, getting ready for the district finals.
And Coach, I heard during our pig Skin Party show
with Rick, your dynamic defensive coordinator Mason Decker, and so
impressed with him when Rick was interviewing him, and obviously
(16:08):
I go back, I'm I'm aging myself. Coach. I called
Mason Decker games back when he was at West Otawall
and then of course went on learned under Peter Sturzman,
his great coaching staff at Hope and was a great
player there. But what does it mean for you on
your coaching staff when you bring young guys in like
that with fresh ideas thoughts, because that's kind of the
way you learned at Hudsonville.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Right, Yeah, Mason is Mason's incredible, Like we're we're really
fortunate to have him, you know. And I kind of
took a took a chance on him as a as
a younger coach as uh, you know, put him as
a decordinator and then we kind of work from within
it Hudsonville. Uh, you know, I know there's other programs
(16:47):
that will bring guys in and have a lot of
football knowledge. And Mason got hired here to teach and
helped out as a coach as a teacher, you know,
coming from Hope College there and you know, worked a
couple of years and then our decordinator stepped away from
Colling Defense. He's still on our staff. Nate Allen was
he was a defensive cordinator at Grand Grand Haven High
(17:08):
School and now he was an assistant principal here and
as he came over here, he was our DC for
a couple of years and then when he stepped out
because it was just too much with the role as
a principal in a coordinator, he coaches our tight ends
now just you know looked you know, we could have
looked outside where I think an incredible school and could
attract some really good talent coaching wise. But Mason's a
(17:31):
kid that he a guy who's just a kid magnet.
Kids love him, they want to play for him. He
works incredibly hard, just coming off of being a captain
at Hope College and a really good career there, and
then like you said, west Oudaway, he knows Okay, Red football,
and he hit the ground running last year with it
and he's just gotten better and better, and we've got
(17:51):
really good defensive minds around him that have been coaching football.
Kevin Sher has been a coordinator here for years. I've
been a decordinator before a couple of different stints, and
he's on our staff helping them. And Derick Hosting is
our freshman decordinator who's been here for you know, decades
and helped them out with the x's and o's. But
(18:11):
his passion and it's loved to just improve and get
better is really a huge asset for our defense in
our whole school and program.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Well, when we talk playoffs, we don't have to tell
you how it goes with the Okay Red schools. It's
all okay Red District, as it almost always is. You
are getting set with a rematch with Granville. You just
got done with a rematch with East Kent with two
very different games though, I think, right you kind of
control the game at their place and then you find
yourself behind in the fourth quarter. Just how difficult are
these games when you play these teams that know each
(18:41):
other so well?
Speaker 5 (18:42):
Yeah, I mean East Kent Wood is as talented as
any team that we've seen, and we've seen a really
good schedule. You look at week one with Howell, a
Week two at East Lam Singh and then playing the
Okay Red. So we've seen the best teams in the
state of Michigan right now and out put these kent
with up their talent wise with anybody. And just they're
a young team. We played them early. They've got a
lot of young kids playing for them, but man, they're
(19:04):
they're extremely talented, and I'll give their coaching staff a
lot of credit. They came with a lot of nice
schemes that put us in a little bit of buyings.
And and you know, we don't I don't think we
played a terrible game. I'll just give them a lot
of credit, to be honest with you, you know, And I
think the score of the first game wasn't probably as
indicative as close it was. We blocked a punt for
(19:27):
a touchdown that helped out, you know, in that game,
they had a couple of drop passes that helped us too.
And the first time we played them. So that's a
really good team with really good players. So we were
I kind of knew once we saw that pairing. It was,
you know, hoping that you could get some teams outside
of the okay read to play, to be honest, but
you know, our kids are the best we could and
came in with a win. And it's kind of win
(19:48):
in advance right now.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
So coach, you look at Grandville, you beat them in
week seven, so not too far ago thirty five to sixteen.
But yet, you know what you got to deal with
Tank Terry, and I think this year, I don't know
what it's been with the wing t offenses in the area,
but they've all found quarterbacks who can throw just a
little bit enough to make you think about it right
and have to do something defensively, and I think that's
(20:10):
been a key for Grandville and coach Stiego with Ethan Neuville.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
Yeah, and Ethan's a good player, and I will say
for them, their best offensive lineman was out, you know
in our game the first time we played them. That
really helped they really like to establish sea gap and
with him not playing, that was that was helpful for us.
I know he's back and he's playing well, you know,
and Ethan's playing better and and I know Terry gets
(20:36):
a lot of the love because probably the best running
back we've seen, and we've seen Jase Clerzio is going
to Michigan State. We've seen a lot of really really
good ones in our in our conference, but I think
Terry is probably the best one. But Eastan sidentsk. He's
a really explosive kid too. I mean he's a kid
that you know, played in our playoff game last year.
They gave them the boat one time and he went
for sixty some yards for a touchdown. So he can
(20:58):
score it any time as well. So you got to
keep them bottled up there. Tight end is explosive. If
he had a long touchdown touch against us last year
or last last time we played him, excuse me. So
you really have to be in your assignments every time.
You know, the kids have to be our kids have
to be disciplined because that that offense can score at
any time with any of those kids.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Could you played Grandville in the playoffs last year obviously
lost a heartbreaker by a single point. Is that any
kind of a factor this week? Is that something that
your kids remember or is that not playing a role
for you guys?
Speaker 5 (21:30):
I don't think it plays much a role, to be
honest with you. The thing that was really cool on
Friday night that game against Granville last time came down
to a field goal. You know, we missed a field
goal at the end of the game which one of
costless and then our kicker Ian Jay Kinds was able
to win, you know, the first round of districts this
year with a field goal at time ran out this week,
so to us, like, you know, that was the biggest
(21:51):
thing of just kind of vindication for him as a person,
because he's a great kid. He's worked really hard and
he got an opportunity and was able to do that.
But no, I mean, you know, we played him one
centsen already. You know, we know the first game we
played last year too was super close, so we know
it's gonna be a close game. It's gonna be a
dog fight down to the last minute. But I don't
(22:12):
think that changes any approach that we have at all.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Always love a visit to Eagles Stadium, coach, especially come
playoff time. You got an okay red battle and in
this case, a border war on top of that. Yeah,
thank you so much for joining us tonight and we
appreciate it. Good luck against the Bulldogs tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (22:29):
Hey, man, thanks a lot for the coverage and what
you guys do for high school football. Really appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Hand off right side, big hold hit at the five,
keeps his.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Peatyo go into the end zone.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Dolive miss Thompson hit him at the five but didn't
wrap up or a strong run by Miss and he
takes it in for the unit. The Christian touchdown there
first for the year from thirteen hours out.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Well, it's the final time for this segment as well.
Brand new segment we had this year and I love it.
The four pack segment. We welcome in Tom Kendri and Buckchino,
our color analysts from our broadcast crews on Friday night.
We call it the jan H Family Stores four Pack,
brought to you by jan Hs Family Stores with now
sixty plus locations across Michigan to serve you jan H
Family Stores. Stop being on the way to your next
game or on your way home. And we'll go with
(23:25):
four different playoff games for the district finals. And we'll
start with Tom Kendrell, whll I believe is going deep
in the divisional order. You're going Division seven this week.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
Tom, That's right, Brett. I wanted to give North Mogue
and a little bit of Love nine to one, number
five in Division seven. And you know, you look at
the Norsemen, they don't have a whole lot of playoff tradition.
They one time they made it to the state finals
in nineteen eighty one, they lost in the Class C finals.
Then in nineteen eighty six they made it to the
Class D semis. But then you have to wait thirty
(23:55):
seven years until last fall they made it back to
the D seven s. They lost to Monominee, but they
had an all state junior quarterback in James Young, So
I guess everyone kind of figured they got this quarterback
back watch for them this fall. So what happens, James
Young ends up transferring to Muskegan. But I wanted to
(24:16):
give a shout out to the junior quarterback Bryce Colbert
at North Muskegan stepped in and done just a great
job this year for them. Left hander may not have
the big arm that James Young has, but he's got
a very accurate arm. Again, Bryce's Colbert only one interception
all season long. Last week against Evert, Colbert eight for
(24:36):
eight two and thirteen yards three touchdowns. I tell you what,
this is a dangerous Muskegan team. He's got all kinds
of weapons. His main weapon is TJ Byered, a very
talented wide out. He's got a couple of good h back,
tight end tight players and Drew Bartos and six five
Chuck Myers, and then three good running backs for North
(24:59):
Muskegan and Hunter Wilder, Tristan Thomas and Colin Bartows. So
this is a very dangerous North Muskegan team. I really
like him in this matchup, it's number five North Muskegan
against number six mcvain. I'm not sure if the Norsemen
have the kind of team that can travel all the
way to the frozen tundra of Menomine, which might be
(25:20):
what they're.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Looking at if they win this game.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
But just another great job by Larry with him in
his ninth year, and I just think the norse deserves
some love here on.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
The four pack.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
Buck Gino, your thoughts, Well, you look at this team
Bretton last year, you know, as far as the guy,
they get to a point where nurses had never been before,
and then James Young transfers and people were like, well
what's going to happen? You know, are they going to
fall apart?
Speaker 5 (25:46):
You know they.
Speaker 7 (25:46):
Graduated from some talented seniors as well, and all Erry
whim has done has gotten them right back in position
to making them a long run. Bain very good, a
very physical team. They're usually in the mix in the
lower divisions depending on how enrollment falls. So that's the
name that a lot of people have heard and I'm
familiar with. So this should be a very good matchup.
(26:09):
But I think athletically North Muskigan is probably going to
be one of the better teams that McMain has faced
on both sides in football, so it'll be a very
interesting matchup. It to be brute force versus athleticism and
we'll find out which one of those is able to
ring the day. But man, this is a great matchup,
especially in the lower level like Division seven. You don't
(26:29):
get these very often, and I think two very good
teams going at It's a shame to all of these teams, them,
the Two Dimensions and Tom mentioned Menominee all on the
side of the breck because I think if you said
any of these three teams deeper in the playoffs, they
would very well challenge for the crown. But only one
of them is going to come out of that mix. Unfortunately,
so very tough, tough side of the back for North Uskeegan,
(26:51):
but great to see the Norsemen repeat what they were
able to do last year after losing their star quarterback.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Well, I only have one common opponent, that being ever,
the team that North Michigan beat last week fifty six
to seven. I had forty nine to zering at halftime.
McBain beat them thirty six twenty nine in Week seven.
But sometimes you get in trouble reading too much into
that stuff. I won't put a ton of stock in that.
The only team that beat McBain this year was Fouler
in Week nine thirty five twenty eight. Follower may very
(27:17):
well win the state championship Division eight. They're that good.
But they're a physical team, a run the ball team,
and they're North Miskegan can be physical and certainly can
run the football. I just think they have better skill
guys than anything McBain's seen this year, and if North
Mocechigon plays anywhere close like they did last week, I
think they'll have a really good chance to win a
district championship.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
I think it's ironic Fowler and pw both they're off
the m twenty one quarter or play some great football,
right championship football. And that's the kind of non conference
games if you will, that McBain and North Muskegon have done.
That tells you the coaches are challenging themselves. They know
what kind of football team they have. But the number
that jumps out to me, guys is eighty. And that
eighty is that's all that North Moskegan defensively has given up.
(27:59):
With the schedule they pla this year in ten games.
I mean even that PW game was eight to seven.
I mean, it's incredible what they've done. I think on
that side of the football and what Tom said earlier,
getting to the semi finals and all those kids getting
to experience a year ago that are back this year,
and I think the rally cry is, hey, you know what,
James Young or not James Young, We're gonna finish this
(28:20):
thing off. I really like this northm skiing team. Think
it's gonna be hecking a football game. But with what
Jay said, with athleticism and that defense, guys, I think
the Norsemen are going to move on and win a
district crown. Let's go next to buck Gino. You've got
a good one. And some history here between these two
teams in Division three since Zealand West has been up
in Division three and that's Zealand West at Saint Joe's.
Speaker 7 (28:41):
Yeah, some pretty classic matchups in the last couple of
years between these two teams, the Bears at nine and
one coming in in Zealand and West also coming in
at nine and one. And like you said, these two
teams recently have matched up a couple of different times.
Zeland West leads two to one in that series. But
Andrew Pratley has is ready to go. I'm very convincing
(29:02):
win over Lake Shore last week. Now, last year they
had the same thing where they beat Lake Shore handling
the regular season and then lost to them in the playoffs,
so they did not want to repeat it that In
the win against Lake Shore. They ran for four hundred
and fifteen yards in the regular season and then last Friday,
Davis Crossman had four touchdowns two hundred and forty yards
passing Lake Sigrello two touchdowns one hundred and thirteen yards receiving,
(29:25):
also two interceptions, so they completely put the script. They
went run heavy in the first matchup, but then they
showed their muscle in the passing game in this rematch.
So if you're looking at Zeland West defensively, you know
you can get anything from Saint Joe's. They can pass,
they can run. There's a real deal of very good
football team down there. And then you look at Zeland
West offensively, they did struggle when trades Fulta Haack was out.
(29:46):
He is back. He had a touchdown pass last week.
Isask Vanders laying three touchdowns total in the bird Bowl
Part two where they beat Dyland's thirty two to six
in the first round. This is going to be a
intriguing matchup two very good teams, and I think the
big this thing that is going to come down to
who makes the most mistakes, who makes the most turnovers,
because Zealand West we so other last year Brett kind
(30:06):
of broken and bent but still made it all the
way to the semi finals and almost before so central
in that game that we did. I think then with
a fully healthy lineup and with the way that they're
playing right now, they're not as explosive as some of
the Vinta shows the teams as far as i'm the scoreboard,
but they're just so stolid fundamentally, and I think it's
(30:27):
going to really come down to who has a big
play the special teams played and flips the field or
is it a turnover that causes extra possessions. You know,
when you play Zealand West, you don't want to give
them extra possessions with the way they're able to control
of the clock at times. So it's to be critical
for both teams take care of the football, and I
think whoever does that best is going to win this game.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
This is a very good Saint Joseph's team. I mean,
they're nine and one, they beat both of the Porters schools.
Their only loss is to Mattwan, which is still alive
up in D two. But you know, I just look
at the Zealand West team and I'm starting to think
this is one of the better teams John Chilito has
ever had there. You look at their one loss, twenty
(31:08):
to eight loss to Unity Christian. You know, twelve point
lost to those guys.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
That's not bad.
Speaker 6 (31:13):
And then they beat everyone else on their schedule, which
included non conference games against Muskegan, Whitehall and West Catholic.
So you know, Saint Joe is good. But I think
Zealand West is better.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
That's high praise from Tom Kendra. John Schultze has won
four stage championships.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, he makes a good point though with that with
Unity Christian that's good.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
It's a good team, no questions. Zealand West is good.
I look at Saint Joe obviously, Andrew Pratley excellent head coach.
He knows Zealand West very well, right from his days
as the Holland head coach, playing Zealand West every year.
They played one wing T team this season, that being
Edwardsberg in Week two. They won that football game thirty
six to twenty nine for me, Saint Joe's and they're
the home team, but they're a little bit of underdog here. Listen,
I understand twenty twenty one that they were underdog in
(31:54):
that game. It came to Zeland Stadium and beat Zealand West,
so certainly there's precedent here. But they're going to have
to control the football and stay on the Felt offense
because it's just gonna be really tough to do. Because
as much as we love Tray Lotok and this unbelievable
zeeld Must offense, Greg Hogland's defense is really good and
it's tough to stay on the field against them, So
I think the challenge is big there for the Bears,
but history has shown there's been some good matchups.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
I want to combine what all three of you just
mentioned because there's no one better in my mind than
John Schilito. If you give him an ounce, it's like
a pound. I mean, he just looks for that one crack,
that one relaxing moment in the game where you think
maybe you've got him stop, you think maybe you got
them figured out, and boom, then all of a sudden,
it's off to the races, and then the defense gives
(32:35):
them a short field and before you know what, they've
scored sixteen points because they've hit the two point conversions
as well. That I think is what Tom was referring to.
And I agree, they've got the offense there and they
got terrace lotalk you can throw it. But Jay, what
you said about the defense, his best teams have always
been when he has a defense, they can give him
those short fields. Make you or dare you to try,
(32:55):
because once you get behind in the score, right, what
are you doing? You're starting to go for a fourth
and four, fourth and five, and they get a stop,
and that's why I think Zealand West is going to
win this game. I think it'll be a good football
game because Prattley does know Zealand West. But I just
think in the end, there's a little bit of a
chip on their shoulder thinking that maybe they should be
the Division three champs with that semi final loss to
Forestiel Central a year ago. Great game, guys, love the pick. Buck.
(33:19):
Speaking of that, let's go to something that you and
I think every college coach, maybe in high school coach
in the area went to last year. I missed it,
but it's going to be back at West Catholic again.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central and the Falcons. Jason Hunt.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Yeah, I'm not here to argue that either team is
as good as they were last year. I mean, that
was the two best teams in the state in Division five.
I think, no question a year ago when Granpit's Catholic
Central scored late to win by two points at West
Catholic thirty to twenty eight. But I'm a little sour.
I don't understand why this matchup doesn't happen in Week
one now that they're not in the same division in
the Okay, conference, you have Granfit's Catholic Central playing a
(33:53):
team from Indiana week one. You have West Catholic playing
a team from Ohio in week one, Like, why aren't
they playing each other week one? Let's do this thing
and this would be round two and we wouldn't have
to rely on playoff wins to make this happen. But
it's here, and I think it's going to be an
interesting matchup. People say West Catholic's the favorite, Gradaskaloch Central
has struggled, especially the second half of the season. I mean,
(34:13):
let's not forget Grand Rapids. Catholic Central has won this
is insane. Eight consecutive regional championships, not just district, but
they've been at least the state semifinals every year since
twenty sixteen. So there's a lot to play for here
for the Cougars. Aside from the fact that you've got
last year's game, you've got the rivalry. I mean, this
was just stripping with storylines.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
It is, and that's why I'll go back up to
the top. I'll save mine for last. Kendra, what do
you got?
Speaker 6 (34:39):
Yeah, you look at this game and seven combined losses
for these two teams playing each other. I mean, that's
just something you never see. But at the same time,
the winner of this game I think has a good
chance to make it all the way to Ford Field.
So good competition both of them have played. You know,
I'm saying this as a Catholic Central boy myself from
the Muskegan Catholic Central graduate. These teams really really really
(35:01):
don't like each other. And know I've said that before
on this show, but you'd be hard pressed to find
any rivalry in the state really more bitter than this one.
You know, the West Catholic that you know, they think
the Catholic Central people are a little snobby, and the
Catholic Central people, you know, they think the West guys there,
you know, pullocks from the West side. But really, what
we have are two great programs, two great teams, Todd
(35:24):
Colster and Land and Grove. You know, something tells me
that might be West year to get them.
Speaker 7 (35:30):
Well, I mean, Jason intim provide interesting points. I was
looking at it this way. You have a game of
two teams that do not like each other, you have
two teams that have struggled. I think West Catholic has
been the better team overall. I think West Cathaw when
you look at the teams they've lost to you, obviously
in the conference that they're in, you can take those
with the grain of salt a little bit. But their
(35:50):
non conference schedule has just been murderous.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
I mean, they went.
Speaker 7 (35:54):
Undefeated in the Okay White, but then all three of
their games out of conference they lost, and they played
very good teams Zealand West, who've just talked about, they
played Cincinnati Elder, right, So they're playing good teams out
of conference, so they're more battle teft. But I look
at Catholic Central. They struggled in an Okay Black that yes,
North U was nine, and oh if you look at
the teams that were in that, they were kind of
(36:15):
down a little bit from what people thought. So and
then their non conference games are now against very good
teams when you compare to what Catholic. So I just
look at the strength of schedule. I get the guys
they have. And the other thing is you have a
team with a young quarterback playing and probably the biggest
game he's going to be playing in up to date.
And I just think this is a recipe I don't
(36:35):
want to say for a disaster, but I think this
one could get out of hand because West Catholic, I
think this year is a significantly better team. There is
significantly more talent on that team from top to bottom,
and they're all experienced. I mean, yes, they do have
some kids that didn't play a lot last year, but
they don't have a lot of holes. In the game
that we did against Forest Silvers Eastern, we saw what
(36:57):
they were able to do in a very tight pressure situation,
and I think if it comes down to a last
second field goo, we know the lay that's Fifth's good
because we've seen him do it twice already. I'm do
it against Coopersville last year. We saw him do it
against Forest Hildyas during this year. He kid is nails
late in the game. So I think every edge in
my opinion goes to West Kathock in this one.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
When I look at a game like this, it's kind
of like Michigan Ohio State or Michigan Michigan State right
where you look at kind of running game and I
know that that didn't play out necessarily for Michigan State
in the game of Michigan, but normally it does. And
I think the better offensive line they're huge. They're like
a D one or D two line. Is West Catholic
this year where I think in years past you certainly
would say it was Catholic Central. And then one of
(37:36):
those guys that I just think is so impressive is
the running back for West Catholic. He's done a great.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Job in this id Britain.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Yeah, I've been impressed with him every time I've seen him,
and on the highlights, I mean, he just consistently puts
up one hundred two hundred yards three touchdowns. I think
he's a difference maker. I don't see a back like
that necessarily for Catholic Central, not that they don't have weapons,
but I'm just saying that's been consistently that way, and
I thought that would be something that West Catholic would
lack this year. But he is more than filled the
void at that running back position.
Speaker 5 (38:05):
Well.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Listen, I'm president of the David Brettenfeld Fan Club. Like
I love the kid. He's amazing. But Kamal Hilliard's been
Hillard has been pretty good for Grevi Central.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
I don't think he's been Britainfeld level.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Bring you bring up the offensive line point, I mean
the Cougars have a much younger, less experienced offensive line,
which plays a role. But I think Hillard's been out Stad.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
In years past, I'm saying that hasn't been the case.
I would say Catholic Central's line has been the stronger line.
So needless to say, it's going to be a great game.
Division five at West Catholic on Friday night. All right, guys, quickly,
we got to move through this one. And that's my
game in Division three Coopersville at Forest Hill Central. Gee,
I'm gonna start with you.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Yeah, I mean, to me, this it's the chess match
of the Coopersville offense against the Forest Hill Central defense
because the Forestill Central defense has just been the immovable
object consecutive shutouts in consecutive weeks against East Ground Rapids.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
I mean, this isn't just anybody. I mean, it's Carson
Thornton and the Pioneers well coach group, and all season long,
this defense has been out stead for Forest Hill Central.
And now you got Bo Harris, and you got Bobby Lemieux,
and you got Brooks hadden't and you got recently flipped
to Illinois JJ Hurtis. I mean, this is a legitimate
Coopersville offense, but what can they do against this Forest
(39:12):
Hill Central defense. Ultimately, the game we'll probably decide the
other way around when Fortill Central has a ball and
Coopersville's on defense. But I just look at the matchup
of the Coopersville offense against the Forest Central defense, and
I'm really intrigued.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Since it's our last four pack segment, I'm gonna mix
it up a little bit, and I shuffling up buck Geto,
I'm going to you next.
Speaker 7 (39:27):
I look at at Coopersville a little dad up. We
saw them against their springs, and then the Currents sprung
a little to the surprise by really taking it to
Ken o' hill, who, again a young team that they
had a lot to do earlier in the season ed,
came and did a great job of regame planning and
doing some different things. Bo harrisran absolutely wild h and
really I think he just comes down to Ken Coopersville
(39:51):
match what Forest Vill Central does on offense. I think
both defenses are out. Obviously, forts Hill Central is better
than what Brazil. We've the scene just been by the
point that they've given up. But I think when you
look at what Forest Hill Central has been able to
do offensively. What does that translate?
Speaker 5 (40:09):
Dude?
Speaker 7 (40:09):
Can they Can they do the same thing against Coopersville
A They're going to have the same game plan. I
just wonder what Forest Hvill Central has the door because
usually they're a big, physical team that is predicated on
and run the football and play great defense. Well, the
game we did against Doug christan Bett that was the
exact opposite of the format that we saw. Nick Williams
point for multiple touchdowns year five touchdowns on the night,
(40:30):
and they passed all over the place. So is that
what they want to do against Coopersville. I think it
really is just going to come down to can Coopersville
defense match what Forest Hvil Central's defense does. If that
doesn't happen, it doesn't really matter too much what Coopersville
does an offense because Forest Hill Central I and that
offense with Nick Williams, they can put into a different
gear and it's going to be tough.
Speaker 5 (40:50):
For the Broncos to keep up with something like that.
Speaker 7 (40:52):
So their defense is going.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
To have to keep them in the game somehow.
Speaker 7 (40:55):
Tom.
Speaker 6 (40:55):
If you look at Coopersville, they they got a share
of the very first River City Alliance title this year. Meanwhile,
the Rangers were third in the Okay Goal, but don't.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
Be fooled by that.
Speaker 6 (41:06):
The Okay Gold a much better conference, much better weekend
week out for Forest Hill Central. I think that's the
difference in this game.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
I agree. I was just gonna go there, You're still
my thunder. I'm just kidding. But you look at it,
River City's Alliance and then they lose to Big Rapids
non conference. I just don't think compared to what Forestill
Central faced, we get and week out with unity Christian
Zeeland West, Oh my goodness, and then East Grand Rapids twice.
I just I love that, and I think that physicality
is going to show out for Forestill Central in this game.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
I know Coopersville, I'm sorry. I know that Big Rapids
is good, but that had to better. Just been an
off night for Coopersville. I'll only score seven points in
that game, like that was just anough. Like if they
have that night, they'll have no chance.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
We'll see, we'll see. If Big Rapids beat Whitehall twice
in the playoffs, then maybe there's something there. As far
as Big Rapids. Maybe we're not giving Big Rapids enough credit.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
I am not giving Big enough Big Rapids enough credit.
I don't believe in them at all.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
So well, it's been a great season. Thank you so
much for your contributions all season long with a high
school football review show. We hope you enjoyed it. It's
called the four Pack. We got to take a break.
We'll come back with more. As you're listening to high
school football playoff action, you're on ninety six to one
the gate.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Left side, Harris, big hole on the left side. Now
bounce outside thirty twenty five twenty has to cut back
of the fifteen does ten five touchdown Bo Harris his
third touchdown a night, this one on the ground, A
forty four yard.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Rushing score for the Broncos. One final segment for the
twenty twenty four season before we put it in the books.
(42:48):
Glad to have you along every week for all the
fans out there with the LMCU High School Football Preview Show.
And before we get to our top ten rankings and
wrap things up with our uptown cheapskate players of the Week, Jay,
we wanted to salute Sagatuck and win for them in
Division eight. We don't have a lot of lower division schools.
Speaker 6 (43:03):
I know.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
We talked about North Muskegon and Division seven of the
West Biscuit Conference. But they went down to basically the
Indiana border and beat White Pigeon last week to advance.
Speaker 4 (43:11):
Yeah, White Pigeon's been, you know, thorn in their side
over the years, four straight losses to the Chiefs, including
three times in the playoffs. But they go down there
and they win twenty four to twenty two. Little bit
of an upset there. Cast Stanbury, huge game of one
hundred and fifty three yards on the ground in three touchdowns. These,
of course the quarterback for the Trailblazers. And now they'll
take on Decatur another road game this week in the
DA District Final.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
Congratulations to them and best of luck to them this weekend.
All right, let's go to our top ten rankings. I'll
start for week eleven. Unity Christians still a top for me.
Not really much change, Mona Shores to Byron Center three,
is Ealand West four. Hudsonville running out my top five
that I have fours till Central, who was eight last week,
they go up to six because of the Northfield loss.
(43:51):
Northfield drops down to seven. Then I got Belding eight,
West Catholic nine, and I do have the Bulldogs of
Grandville back in Toronto. My top ten at six and four.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
Yeah, so I don't have any changes in my top
five either. Uni Christian one, Mona Shores two, Hudsonville three,
Byron Center for Zealand West five, and like you, I
moved forward, so Central up a spot to six. I
have West Catholic up to seven, I have Grandville up
two spots from ten to eight, and then I have
Rockford nine and Northview ten. Obviously the Rams and Wildcats
are eliminated, but honestly, I have teams nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
(44:22):
thirteen all are out of the playoffs or didn't even
make the playoffs in my rankings.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
How about what's weird for me? I'm ending a top
ten rankings for the year. No Muskegan, no Rockford. I
like took a double take on that. I'm like, wow,
that's a pretty unique year. But you look at how
crazy this year has been, and I'm a big fan.
I'm not saying that this is the reason that they
did it, because Rockford the Okay, rid didn't get changed
that much, but I've really enjoyed the conference realignment and
(44:47):
then what it's forced as far as from non conference magup. Well,
when they've stayed in the area.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
That we've had, that's what's done. It is, like you said,
it doesn't really impact Rockford, it impacts Miskegan, right, So
Miskegan has taken two gimme games in in a conference
and they replace them with the likes of you know,
Cincinnati Moltennati Moehler or yeah, some really really good opponents.
And so I think you can make a pretty good
argument that both Rockford and Muskegan our top ten teams.
(45:14):
They just played really tough schedules. And so I'm skiing
end up going three and five like I have them ranked,
I believe twelve, even though they were three and five
in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
All right, let's go to our Uptown Cheapskate Players of
the Week. It's brought to you by Uptown Cheapskate with
locations in Holland, Granville, and Kentwood. You can find out
more online, and each one of our players of the
Week it's a twenty five dollars gift guard do some
shopping on us. I'll start with the Grand Rapids area
and I'm going to go with senior fullback slash linebacker four.
(45:43):
My number one ranked team, the Crusaders of Unity Christian
Max Vancouver. And what a game now, you might say, well,
wait a minute. Not a lot of carries, not a
lot of big numbers, but three carries sixty three yards,
two rushing touchdowns. I mean, this guy's efficient two interception
this game, and one of those was a pick six.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
Yeah, un Christas scored forty one points in the second
quarter and he had to pick six in the Guardia
had two interceptions of the Guardia's at a rushing touchdown
the second quarter. Take your pick every week on Steinstra,
this de Hoop, Vancouvering, They're all worthy of uptown cheapskate
player of the.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Week, absolutely, and that's why I want to give him
some love. I'm meaning a wow, up fifty points at
halftime against Hamilton.
Speaker 4 (46:20):
And I'm going to go on a match. I'm gonna
go Cody Manly from Belding nineteen carries, one hundred and
ninety yards, three touchdowns, Belding knocks off sagramoun Swan Valley
fifty two to thirty. Got up thirty to nothing in
that game in the second quarter, had to kind of
hold on a little bit. Now they go to Frankenmuth.
There'll be an underdog here in this district final.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
That is going to be a tough game for them.
Frankenmuth has always been getting to the regionals of the
semi finals or even in the case one year of
to the finals, but then they run into either Catholic
Central or West Catholic. Someone're on the west side of
the state. So congratulations to Frankenmuth. Another ten and zero
season for them, But that's going to be a tough
upfield battle for the Black Knights and Monty Price and Beldi.
(46:57):
But what a year. They've had nine game winning streak
right now into that district in.
Speaker 4 (47:01):
The highlight of the season being ranked eighth by Brett Bakeito.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
Yeah, there you go, Lake Shore Area. I'm going to
go with our uptown chiefskate player of the Week from
the Hollands slash Grand Haven, Muskegon Area, Isaac vanders Way
of Zealand West. Two rushing touchdowns, one from forty six
yards out, also receiving touchdown in this as they win
in bird Bowl Part two thirty two to six over
(47:24):
the Chicks. And with that victory, that's nine straight now
for Zealand west Over Zealanders.
Speaker 4 (47:29):
Yeah, and he's such a good player because not just
like they're kind of go to running back, but also
outstanding defensive player for Zeland West as well. So yeah,
very well deserving for Vanderswalk. All right, I'm going Gavin
Craner as the honorable mention for the Lake Shorey and
I called that game Friday night between White Home Forces
Eastern and Craner twenty two carries, one hundred and thirty
nine yards touchdown, ran really well behind a really good
offensive line, had the game winner with eleven seconds ago.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
