HIV is getting in on a trend some places have done,
bringing in an element of surprise with their merch. They're
now offering mystery boxes that are featuring these limited edition
HIV themed design key chains. There's going to be six
designs to find. One elusive rare glow in the Dark
cowboy hat one too. So these started showing up. I know,
I want to get this so bad. They started showing
(03:04):
up last week in stores. So in addition to the
rare glowing booth, they're also gonna have a Creamy Creations
one Go figure also one representing their Midtown pizza line.
We love that their Cafe Olay coffee, their mineral water
which I love too, sweet tea, and even their flower tortillas.
I love this idea. They're gonna be the one and
only right these are. They're gonna be offering these up
(03:26):
for three dollars and fifty cents each. They'll also be
available in their brand shop. But something fun to look
out for. Possibly some great Christmas gift ideas for those
HIV super.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Phrase idea I love the love that. Yeah, I do.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Now it is day thirty five of the government shutdown, Anthony. Now,
we are stepping up to help our military, specifically the
soldiers at Fort Hood in Colleen, local veteran groups here,
nonprofits right here in Houston. Operation Feed are soldiers. That's
what it's called. It's a citywide food drive and collecting
nonperishable goods for our military families there and one Good
(04:00):
Samaritan said, this isn't politics, this is humanity, and I
say amen to that. Also, you can check out Operation
home Front and Soldiers Angels to help out our military.
Do it. It's good for the Sunday nighty nine point one,
Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties, and today I'm
Dana with producer Anthony yesterday National Sandwich Day. Sandwiches have
(04:22):
such nostalgic memories because when we were little, it was
Spanky in the gang. I'll never forget white bread and
grape jam. They were making these grape jam sandwiches that
just looked so good. When I was a little girl,
I was like, I just have to have that, And
that white bread was so thick and soft. Yeah, those
are my favorite sandwiches as kids, Peanut butter and jelly
(04:44):
and jelly sandwiches.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Classes I grew up Anthony Mature.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
My grandma bo had a farm in Vermont, and one
summer we went and stayed with her, and she said
we have to go help her with her garden. It
was at her friend's house and she had the most
beautiful to me tomatoes. She sliced those tomatoes and I'd
never had better tomatoes in my whole life, and made
tuna fish sandwiches with them, toasted the white bread with
(05:10):
the tomatoes and the tuna. I don't think I had
ever had anything better.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
That all sounds pretty good, I wait.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
But then I went to Kenny and Ziggi's here, and
then I had the Ruben sandwich.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Massive Ruben sandwich.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
I can't believe you even could eat get that thing
in your mouth.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
It's down that room so huge.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I mean, it's just so funny how sandwiches are so
America's favorite sandwich. We learned the grilled cheese sandwich right
number two on the list. Chicken, then turkey, then ham,
very conservative tuna. A tuna sandwich comes in at number five.
And what about you, Anthony, I know you're very calorie conscious.
You have to you kind of eat small bits throughout
the day to keep you going because it helps with
(05:53):
your energy levels. Your favorite sandwich of all time.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
It's got to be the grilled cheese.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Easy, but I will we'll doctor ours up like when
we make them at home, like well, sometimes we'll add tomato.
Sometimes if we get a little crazy, we might add
a strip of bacon.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Or something like what about hot sauce you can see
on a grilled.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Cheese, No, because because we'll use different kinds of cheeses
on that, like like a monster cheese or something like that.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Really dress it up.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
And she'll even dress up like use some kind of
special butter on it, like the carry.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Gold butter or whatever. It is very nice.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
You if you doctor if you alter and tweak some
of those, you can, that's what takes like a regular
grilled cheese to the next level.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I would put some spicy mustard on there. If yes, yes,
onions for my husband, like.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
A great poop pond type of thing. Yes, very nice, absolutely, man,
I go for one.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Else.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
You have a favorite sandwich. Maybe it's your own creation
that you'd like to share with us. We're always looking
for ideas. But boy sour kraut on a Ruben sour
crowd or beef just stacked up seven Sunday ninety nine
point one Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties. And
today I'm Dana with producer Anthony's. We're talking about sandwiches,
(07:01):
our favorites. Yesterday National Sandwich Day. Learn this morning grilled
cheese America's favorite sandwich. I love tuna sandwiches. I love
Reuben sandwiches. Anthony's a grilled cheese aficionado, putting in all
kinds of special ingredients. And we're asking you about your
favorite sandwiches. Maybe you've got your own style or your
favorite place to go get your sandwich. We're going to Pasadena, Tiffany.
(07:24):
Now you're a math instructional coach. You're helping teachers there.
It's we all know that kid's favorite lunch is pizza.
Oh yeah, but what would your Tiffany, your favorite sandwich be?
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Ooh, I like patti milk so good?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yes, Now are you making it? Do you have a
favorite Paddymelt restaurant you go to?
Speaker 4 (07:45):
I make it? But I would say waffle house also
has a good milk.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Waffle House like thick bread, lots of butter.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yes, and it's probably good. It's probably more memories, you know,
road trips and in high school, so we would go there.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
That is excellent.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
That's excellent. Well, Tiffany, that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Let me ask you, now you are a math teacher.
Well you're actually a math instructional coach and you help
teachers teach math. How did you get to do that?
What what made you so smart and math?
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Maybe? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I don't know. I just like math. It's great. But
I started off at teaching and then I wanted to
just help teachers with teaching, and so I went the
math math route to do that.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
That's amazing, Like you just go to a school and
go I was a teacher, but now I want to
help teachers teach, and they said, perfect, you're hired.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I will tell you Pasadena, ISD. And I'm not getting
paid for this, but we are great and they grow,
they grow our teachers here, and so we have instructural
coaches and then they'll coach us on.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
How to do that.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
We take classes and things, and then we'll get workshops
for teachers on their staff days on different ways to
teach math and different things to do to help our kids.
Those really work in here in Pasadena.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
I love how long have you been a teacher there, Tiffany.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Oh it's been probably nineteen years. Man.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Wow, man, I bet those kids love you. Yeah, and
I bet you.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I am super excited for a little break time during Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Huh yes, yes, of course, I bet.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I bet well, Tiffany. Thanks for sharing a little bit
of your life. Keep up the good work with those kids.
Glad you found your calling.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
Yes, thank you, and I love listening to you guys.
