and we've got Houston's best variety of the eighties, nineties

to get your Tuesday, October seventh started well, forget the
national average. Home sales here in Houston are doing just fine,
especially in these Houston neighborhoods. The hottest selling houses selling
more than forty percent faster than they did pre pandemic.

The bad news, We've got another lane reduction coming to
it ten I know, near downtown. Phase one of the
Iten White Oak Bayou Elevation project starts Friday, October twenty fourth,
is going to run through twenty twenty six, and it's

Your weather today, dry, perfect night out. It's gonna be
(01:31):
partly Sonny as well. We're going up to ninety two
right now, seventy five in Uptown, and you're up to date.
I'm sunny. Tell me something good brought to us by
our friends at Goodwill Houston. For five years, eighty year
old Sarah Hampton has been dealing with a massive colony
of bees at her Hitchcock home. She's a senior on
(01:53):
a fixed income. Didn't really know how to handle this situation. Well,
that's where farmer Henry Brown, he owns Farmer Brown and Company,
he stepped up and started donating his services. He's in
Sealy and he made the two hour drive to Hitchcock
and Sarah.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Now he got.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Rid of the bees, cut back a lot of the
wildlife that was there, and now Sarah has full access
to her home and her ramp that she needs to
go up, and Henry said, listen. His goal was simple
to make Sarah's home safe and accessible. And Henry says
that he gives back because that's what God tells us
to do, put ourselves aside and help others. Wow, Henry,
(02:34):
that is just the nicest thing. Henry Brown, thank you
for being so calm. Producer Anthony Dane, this is amazing.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
More than three thousand people showed up at Houston's Discovery
Green Park this past Saturday for the Southern Smoke Festival.
And this thing has become massive. It's a high energy event,
bringing over eighty top chefs, beverage pros, and live music
for a day, and it brings foodies from all over
the country. And even better, it helps fuel their mission
to help support our food and beverage workers that are
in need. In this past weekend in the Southern Smoke
Founday says it held their single most successful fundraising event.
(03:03):
They managed to raise one point seven million dollars and yeah,
it's gonna directly support the organization's mission of a writing,
emergency relief and no cost mental health services to people
throughout the hospitality industry. It's amazing. And this event, as
we said, it brings chefs from all over and dishes
that always look incredible. If you want to get in
on the next bestial, check them out online. It's become
literally as we said, next level. Find them at Southernsmoke
(03:26):
dot org.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
I'm telling you, Houston Food, our restaurant's are phenomenal. That's
why restaurants want to come here and be a part
of it. And they are a restaurant from Florida. A
chain is called Ford's Garage and it's a nineteen twenties
car garage themed restaurant. It's even got a model T
hanging over the bar table. It's started in Florida and
(03:48):
it's coming to Houston. Actually, they're looking to open up
eight of these restaurants. Meat Loaf, Ribbi Desserts.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Whoa nineteen twenty.
