Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday nighty nine point one, Houston's best variety of the
eighties nineties. And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony, and
we have got the three things you need to know
to get your Monday, August twenty fifth started.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Oops.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
If you thought you were buying Bluebell chocolate Chip cookie
dough ice cream, you gotta check it. Blue Bell said
it is recalling ice cream cartons over a mistaken identity.
Apparently some half gallon packages of chocolate chip cookie dough
actually have the Millennium crunch lid and the millennium crunch
ice cream. And that could be pretty iffy for someone
who's got peanut allergies because they've got nuts in the

(00:35):
millennium crunch. So just be aware that bring it in
for a full refund. Well, today marks eight years since
Hurricane Harvey made landfall. Unbelievable rainfall over fifty inches over
a few days happened back in twenty seventeen. As a
matter of fact, friends would saw fifty six inches of
rain August twenty fifth through the thirty first, second costliest

(00:56):
hurricane in US history since nineteen and weather today, all right,
we've got this Canadian cold front moving in, but it's
not gonna be cold for us now. We're just gonna
get a little bit of rain starting tomorrow night. We'll
have a high of ninety on Wednesday. I mean that's
pretty good considering we're gonna go up to ninety six.
Today should be real sunny, and looking ahead to Labor

(01:17):
Day Monday, it's gonna be sunny with a high ninety four.
So the heat isn't out of here yet, but we're
getting there. We're getting there today up to ninety six.
And right now it's eighty two and uptown and you're
up to date from Sunday ninety nine point one. Tell
me something good. Brought to us by our friends at
Goodwill Houston. Some amazing high school football players honored the

(01:37):
All Greater Houston High School preseason team named by the
Touchdown Club of Houston. It happened at the Touchdowner of
the Year dinner. Some of the names that were honored
offensive quarterbacks Jack Dalton from the Woodlands. Running backs included
Deon Simms from ce King, offensive lineman Devin Robinson from

(01:58):
Pasadena Memorial. Among those honored, wide receiver Chris Stewart from
Shadow Creek and athlete William Blaylock from Cyprus Ranch. Congratulations
to all those amazing really high school football players. Producer
Anthony Dane.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Another limited time flavor back in the lineup, and now's
the time to scoop it up. It's our beloved Bluebell brand.
They brought it back. It's gooey buttercake ice cream. This
is fairly new flavor in the portfolio as well. It's
actually their tribute flavor to the city of Saint Louis,
celebrating the idea Bluebell coming to their city. And so apparently,
gooey buttercake has been a popular treat in Saint Louis

(02:33):
for decades, ever since a baker supposedly mixed in the
wrong amount of butter in a coffee cake. Today, the
Midwest favorite treat is all over in. Bluebell honors the
past time with their spin on the sweet treat. You
can find Gooey Buttercake ice cream available in the pint
and halfcallon sizes. And don't forget this is on top
of some recent flavors they brought back, including Orange Swirl,
followed by Homemade in the Shade. So just another reason

(02:55):
to check the freezer aisle when you're doing your shopping.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
This week can never.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Ends, and I'm okay with that.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I know. Hey, there was a Godzilla sighting at a
neighborhood pool in Fulshure. It was at the landing in
Cross Creek Ranch. Ultra police came to the rescue. Officer
Marissa Harrish jumped into the pool and pulled the gator
out about four feet long. They nicknamed him the Cross
Creek Creeper. Oh my gosh, everyone's all, oh wow. Once

(03:24):
again the men and women in blue to the rescue.
It's true. We love you so much and for our
feel good stories. Each weekday mornings set a preset on
the new and improved iHeartRadio app to Sonny Natty nine
