Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sunday nighty nine point one, Houston's best variety the eighties nineties,
and today I'm Dana with producer Anthony and we've got
the three things you need to know to get your
Thursday or Anthony.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Uh, that would be Friday eve around here. Days. October
ninth started well.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Houston City Council has approved a fifty million dollar deal
for new HPD headquarters and city offices. It's a fifty
two story building, the former Continental Airlines building at sixteen
hundred Smith Street. It's also going to house the Public
Works and other departments.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
With pumpkin season upon us, one of our favorite fall spices, cinnamon,
there's a warning out by the FDA about high levels
of lead in ground cinnamon brands sold at Dollar Tree,
Duro Brand, and Wise.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Wife brands, So just keep your eyes out for that.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
And a cool front moves through today, which means lower
humidity for tomorrow for our feel good Friday, but it's
even going to feel better on Saturday morning, especially.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
If we wake up in the fifties.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
It's possible it could happen, but we do have to
and we are going to have highs in the eighties
over the weekend. Today, we just have to get through
our high of ninety two. Right now, it's seventy five
in Uptown and you're up to date on sunny Tell
me something good brought to us by our friends at
Goodwill Houston. This is cool. The top destination SPA in

(01:26):
the US is in Texas. Lake Austin Spa Resort earned
the top title the second straight year in condy Nast
Travelers Reads Choice Awards. It's number six worldwide. I mean
that's pretty spectacular. You've got a daily schedule of all
kinds of activities in and around Lake Austin, and it's

(01:48):
all focused on mind, body, and spirit. There's yoga, cocktail making,
a paddleboarding, aqua fitness, and there's baking, kayaking, and you
can even bring like a group of six or more
and get customized spa packages. Wow, it would be pretty cool,
especially if you win one thousand dollars our Workday BNUS.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yes, wouldn't that be so cool?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, I'm going to the Lake Austin Spa Resort, see
producer Anthony Dane.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
This is really cool.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
If you're doing any traveling during the holiday season, specifically
heading south down towards Corpus Christi. There's a new bright
spot to check out while you're there. Literally, it's their
new Harbor Bridge. It opened just a few months ago.
It's already said to become Texas's tallest and lable state bridge.
And they're going to be featuring a state of the
art led lighting system, cable hole man of synchronized patterns
for like holidays, community events, major milestones.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
This thing's awesome.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Recently, technicians and designers did a dazzling test run cycling
through a series of pre programmed color themes, washing the
massive bridge in glowing waves of blue, green, pink. The
mockup official said was a key step towards perfecting their
long awaited light show, part of a full illumination rollout
plan for later this year. I can't wait, because this
thing looks like it's gonna be awesome. It's another reason

(02:59):
to look forward to traveling down to Corpus Christie, one
of my favorite destinations. You like going there, so many
fun memories with my kids.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Home of Whataburger? Yeah, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
And this, speaking of kids, Texas Children's Hospital host its
annual Nick You Little Listeners read a thon encouraging parents
to read to their babies in the nicku. It helps
foster bonding and developmental benefits of newborns. Many of these
little babies can't be held and so it's really hard
to bond. So when mom and dad read to them.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
It just helps it.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
It started six years ago by doctor Christina Wong.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
So far they've distributed.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Seventeen hundred books wow, one hundred and eighty families across
the Texas Children's Hospital system. You can find out all
the details Texas Children's dot org and for our feel
good stories each weekday mornings set a preset on the

the eighties, nineties and today Dana with producer Anthony, and
we are looking at the weather changing today to something
much more comfortable. As a matter of fact, it will
be a feel good Friday literally tomorrow as the humidity
finally drops at some point today. Now we are going
to go up to ninety two. Right now, it's seventy
five and uptown. I mean there might be some spots, Anthony,

(04:22):
Saturday morning in the fifties for most of us though,
it'll be in this sixties when we wake up, and
then the weekend lower humidity with highs in the eighties.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Isn't that just about perfect? Yes, it is lots of
fun outdoor activities.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Maybe you're going to be putting your Halloween costume together
as we get ready for a fun Halloween.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
You never know what that day is going to be.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
I mean sometimes it's super cold, rainy, and other times
super hot.

We just don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, all we know is we're going to be tricker
treating for some amazing candy and some of the hottest costumes.

weren't so in on this a K pop show until
you saw it. Kept getting ou one hundred percent, one
hundred percent, one hundred percent, and then you watched it.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
The music was amazing.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
It's the music that sends it over. I mean that
the whole movie is hilarious and it's it's so funny.
But Dane, when you hear some of these songs, I
mean here, I mean the big the big one I
keep hearing, of course, is Golden Shine.

Speaker 2 (05:17):

the other song how It's done. What even Dane and
I'm surprised. This is why I knew you would love
this song too, because the boy group in there, they
have this song called Soda Pop.

jo Joma.

everyone all ages gonna be dressing up as you know
one of the characters Roomy, Mira, Zoe all good and yeah,
