We got to talk with her on Friday and she's
all over our socials right now. Just why she loves
radio so much. We were so impressed with her. At
the end of our little interview on Friday, she said

the Pacer test, like people were running around and we
(02:24):
just had like crayons and stuff and like papers. We
just came up with ideas and then we finally got
into it on Canva and then we started writing it
and finally like three months later we showed it to
our class and they loved it.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Now it's it's two dogs with a jar of jelly
and a jar of peanut butter and right, and so
you guys, you're your inspiration for the dogs is because

that you love. And so the whole mission is to
find the biggest jelly jar in the Middle East. Yes,
look at that and use that A little bit of
history in here some painted ceilings and beautiful cathedrals, and
there is I don't want to give away the plot,
but there is the biggest jelly jar. Yep, it looks
(03:26):
like I don't want to give it away again, but
it looks like you found it.

(04:42):
at Goodwill Houston. Well, the Houston Zoo has just welcomed
a new star, a rare striped Eastern bongo calf. A
baby boy, healthy, thriving, bonding with mom Bernadette. He uh
doesn't have a name yet, but he soon will. Visitors
will be able to see him at the bongo yard
in the Zoo's lush afric and forest habitat. These are
(05:02):
critically endangered antelopes. You are then two hundred remain in
the world. Isn't that amazing? So definitely a welcome addition
to our zoo. Oh, by the way, he does have
a big brother, Harris, who is now three. Producer Anthony Dane,
this is awesome.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
We recently held a dog surfing competition on Galveston Island.
It was the twelfth annual Ohanna Surf Dog competition hosted
by the Galveson Island Humane Society. Hundreds line the sand
to watch our furry competitors hit the water. A total
of thirty five dogs competed this year largest group of
pups in the event's history. The dogs were judged on
wave performance, balance, overall vibe too. They look at the
(05:37):
nature of the wave, how long they stayed on the board.
Zition was some dogs, as you can imagine, take to
it right away, while others aren't so confident. Most dogs
were life best with a hook that connects to the board.
Rescue groups also took part in the event, among them
with Three Little Pities Dog Rescue. They brought Fefeeding, a
bulldog dressed like a scuba diver, to the competition.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
It was adorable.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
It's really cute and I love that it brings more
attention to our rescue groups too. If you want to
see if your dog can maybe catch some waves, check
out their website. Ohannasurfinskate dot com. This is so cool,
it is well.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
He is the community hero Texans CJ. Stroud. His mom, Kimberly,
recalls when he was in school, he was super rough
on his backpacks, so over the weekend, his CJ. Stroud
Foundation held a back to school giveaway, providing five hundred
backpacks filled with school supplies at the Houston, Texans YMCA.
Stroud says he and his family just want people to
(06:28):
know they care about them and they love lending a
helping hand. I love that and for our feel good stories.
Each Weekday Mornings set a preset on the new and
improved iHeartRadio app to Sonny ninety nine point one, Sunday
ninety nine point one, Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties,
And today I'm dating with producer Anthony. We're talking about
relationships and social media.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
We post a lot of things about relationships sometimes in
our enthusiasm and our passion, and if our partner doesn't
respond with a like or love, you're kind of like, well,
why why didn't you respond? And then you start feeling
bummed and you start questioning your relationship. If social media
wasn't there, that wouldn't have even happened. So right, we
(07:11):
learned in our nearly impossible question that posting about relationships
three times a week actually makes you less happy in
your relationship. Yep, And we're asking you what your thoughts
are we've got Nikki calling in. How do you feel
about posting your relationships ups and downs on social Nikki?
Speaker 5 (07:28):
No, not good? It's something positive?
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah, I don't know, maybe like a marriage announcement or
something anniversary only, but yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Not three times a week?
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Really, I know?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Like what you know?
Speaker 5 (07:42):
What it?
Speaker 1 (07:43):
What did you say? It's just a front. It's a
front for maybe something's really not as good as it
appears to be. Now, are you in a relationship?
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Actually I am not currently?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Okay, but was it because you were posting too many
times a week on your relationship? No?
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Actually long term? Uh marriage? So it was.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, okay, I get it. Okay, Yeah, Well sometimes it's
these new relationships, right that just they get so excited
and passionate and have to post everything and then they
know what this is not making us happy?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Oh right?
Speaker 5 (08:22):
And it's a sign of the times. Like you want
to see technology, think of today? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (08:27):
So? Yeah, sadly, but do you see anything good in
the technology in the in our socials? Do you ever
use like do you see that they could be used
for good?
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I do, like I said, with the positive things, and
as far as you know, education knowing things, keeping up
with friends, you know, that was the main thing of
everything starting, you know, like with Facebook, keep in touch
with friends, high school friends and things like that. So
it's kind of just gotten out of control. I kind
of feel farry for the younger kids, that's all they
know or grew up with. And you know, as far
(08:57):
as mental health and everything, it's just it depends.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
But yeah, yeah, do you have a though to? We
always post some really funny questions up on our Facebook
at Sunday ninety nine Houston. Have you ever checked them out?
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Funny little thing, Miss Dana. I'm glad I spoke with you.
I actually messaged you a while back. I first met
you in Sugarland several years ago. I'm like, wow, so
and I've heard when you went on vacation visit your mom.
I love it.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
I was like, soah, gladness. Like you said, friends can
connect on social media. That's the positive right exactly. Well,
you're a sweetheart, Nikki. We thank you so much for
listening to us. You made our day.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
I'm glad I call you all again. Positive every weekend
just came off the eighties listening.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Love it
