Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sunday Nutty nine point one.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I'm Dana with producer Anthony and we've got Houston's Best
variety of the eighties, nineties and today and the three
things you need to know to get your Monday. It's
Columbus Day, October thirteenth started. So if you're planning for
Thanksgiving travel, A lot of people say they're going to
go travel this year, something they haven't done in years past.
So you might want to be flying to Grandma's house.
(00:22):
What's the weather going to be like for Thanksgiving? Because
now it's a good time to get your tickets. Farmer's
Almanac is saying little colder than normal all around the country,
but not nothing extreme. In Texas, we could have some rain.
It's going to be cooler than normal. On the East Coast,
we could have some snow. It's going to be cooler
than normal, but no major outrageous storms predicted for the
(00:45):
Thanksgiving week.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
So that's some great news.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Now, if we are going to be flying to Grandma's house,
how is this shutdown going to be affecting air travel?
Where we'll now in day thirteen, air traffic control shortages
have been reported, some delays flights are being spread out
slows down everything, some even cancelations. The first missed paycheck
if the government doesn't open will be October twenty eighth.
(01:11):
And the Aggies, ranking number five team across the country,
has one of the most exciting offenses anywhere with a
five and oh start. That's the first time that's happened
to them since twenty sixteen, and they beat Florida over
the weekend thirty four to seventeen. Next up on the
road against Arkansas on Saturday. And your weather today, it's
(01:31):
just beautiful sunny. We're gonna go up to eighty eight,
so still kind of warm for October thirteenth, but you
know Halloween can be super warm too.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
It's really it's just.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
The fall in Houston. But right now feels good. Sixty
five in uptown and e're up to date. I'm sunny.
Tell me something good brought to us by our friends
at Goodwill Houston. Matt Thomas, our co worker here his
Rockets play by play guy on Sports Talk seven ninety. Well,
when he's not doing the Rockets, he's still behind the
(02:00):
microphone at Kingwood High School and.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
He introduces the volleyball.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Team every Tuesday. His daughter Carly's volleyball team. She's a
senior this year, so it's super cool that Dad is there.
Everyone recognizes his voice. He is such a fan. He
just energizes the audience. And congratulations to Carly because next
year she's off to.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Play D one volleyball in Rhode Island.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
So great job Carly, and good job Dad, Matt Thomas,
You're doing an awesome job.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Producer Anthony Dane.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
A lot of us missed our chance when the popular
Savannah Bananas played their game against the Texas Tailgators over
at Minim Park last month, but there is good news.
Last Thursday, they revealed their twenty twenty six Banana Ball
World Tour schedule. They're going to feature fifty games across
seventy five stadiums in forty five states. These are going
to include ten stadium stops in the state of Texas alone,
and despite Dikin Park hosting Banana Ball for the last
(02:53):
two years, the venue was actually left off the list
this time, with nearby Sugarland Space, Cowboys, Consolation Field, and Texas.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
A and M.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
A and M's Kyle Field taking its place. So you're
gonna be able to catch the boys in yellow May
second up in Kyle Field and in College Station, and
then August twenty eighth and twenty ninth at are Constellation
Field in sugar Land. There's gonna be a ticket lottery
that begins at the end of this month, and those
fans who enter, we're gonna be putting a random drawing
held before the game and game and if you're drawn,
you'll be able to purchase tickets. Remember these go fast.
(03:21):
Check their website, the Savannah Bananas dot com.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
They are They're like the holem globe trotter. Yeah, I know,
on steroids. They are so funny. I love it.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Hey, it's like post Malone and Crocs. Now it's Shaboozy
and Dominoes. Yes, Shaboozy is teamed up with Domino's Pizza.
He is the voice behind Domino's newest jingle and it's
their first refresh in thirteen years, and they're highlighting how
country music, even though we play Shaboozy on Sunny, is
(03:52):
increasingly shaping mainstream advertising and branding. And what they've done
with the Domino's name is it's dom m you knows,
so it's throughout the whole journal. It's actually really cool, but.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I'm just thinking.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
The more important thing is Shaboozi does a song called
the bar Song, and Anthony, what's the first thing you
fit you think of after you've.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Gone to the bar.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
They knew what they were doing with it.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's Best Variety of the
eighties nineties and Today. I'd like to be called Babe.
It's seven to ten now, but I'm called Sparky for
whatever reason. It's for you to decide. Anyway, I'm dating
with producer Anthony and we've got Houston's Best Variety of
the eighties nineties and today. We found in our nearly
impossible question, fifty percent of women do not like to
(04:37):
be called trophy wife by their husband.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
But that means fifty percent do.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
I mean, it could be an honor depending on what
you're trying to the look that you're trying to be,
you know, right, So trophy wife might be hey, yeah,
thanks for noticing, or don't call me that. That is
like putting me down. So my husband, he thinks it's important.
They are terms of endearment. Loves giving nicknames to people.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
He's one of those he is.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
And I don't maybe because he never had one when
he was growing up by his parents, and I had
a nickname by my father and it was I can't
even say it on the radio. It was not very
nice because I'm I'm I was very aggressive child, and
you know, it just wasn't nice. But dad thought it
was funny, but you know, that's his New York comedic sense.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
It wasn't funny. It was very disrespectful.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
But my husband decided this name would be really cute
for me, and it's sparky. And from day one I
got the name sparky, and sparky is I think it
has something to do with this explosive tendency.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
I'm oh, you know, yeah that that chugs out.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
It's in line with what I know of you.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Right, So it's kind of cute, I guess. And Anthony,
you're a much calmer, more zan guy. So I could
not see Jess calling you sparky. So did she have a.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Little term of endearment for you? I think she just
calls me yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
I think she's just love hey, love like yeah, because
that's that's usually what I what I'll hear I'll hear
from her. I'll say, I'll say babe sometimes but it's
usually so cute.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I usually will just say yess, And then every now
and then I think I will say love too, because
she's been saying it to me. It's just it's because
it's so easy that it.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Looks so nice, you know what I mean. It just
makes you feel happy, it does.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
And it's one of those like because I I remember
I remember asking her one time. I was like, hey,
are you okay? Because I never did. I just started
calling her babe. I was like, you're okay with that.
She's like, that's fine, She's like, she goes, I know
it comes from a good place, and but I I
but when I heard her doing love, it just seems
so much more natural.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
So I was just like, hey, love, like it just flows.
I think, you know, I mean what we call it.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
The names really matter, you know, sticks and stones may
break my bones, but no names do matter. And if
you've come up with a really neat term of endearment
for your partner or they've come up with one for you,
that just makes you feel so good it. You know,
Anthony started calling Jess love because she was calling him love.
And now it's like, oh, I never even thought to
(07:06):
say that we'd love to hear from you your term
of endearment seven one three two one two five ninety
nine to one name, it's seven twenty one. Now I
say my name, Isn't that funny? How ironic? On Sunday
Monday ninety one? Not my pet name? My real name
is my pet name.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I'm Dana with producer Anthony and we've got Houston's Best
Variety of the eighties nineties, and today we learned that
fifty percent of women really don't like to be called
a trophy wife by their husband. But we do like
pet names if they're done with sweet thoughts and make
us feel good. And we're asking you about maybe your
pet name. Anthony's girlfriend Jess calls him love. Yeah, my
(07:47):
husband calls me sparky. You're so so, you know, because
she's always fired up.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
It's done in love. That's right. We're asking you what
is your pet name? Now, we've got Felicia. You're calling
in from Memorial. You're an accountant there and you're not married.
You are dating.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Does your boyfriend have a term of endearment a pet
name you think is adorable? My love? Yes, we said
on his phone, Oh my love, my love.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
That that's way better than my trophy.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Wife, don't you think, Felicia, what's his name? Veto?
Speaker 1 (08:22):
How did you meet Vito online?
Speaker 2 (08:24):
When during COVID? All right, so what was it about
Veto that made you swipe Veto?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
No, it was just his personality and then we facetimed,
you know, to make sure it was real, and then
we met afterwards. So we're you have your first day,
I think our first day. It was at a restaurant.
We met for dinner.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
And when you well, you've already FaceTime, so you already
knew what he looked like. But did he have good
manners or did he chew his food too loud?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
No, that's excellent. Well, how long have you guys been
dating since COVID? Since two thousand?
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Yeah, it's like five years?
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Five years or well, Felicia, since you are his love
and he doesn't call you trophy wife, when's the big day?
Speaker 1 (09:10):
That's TBD?
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Come you too, enjoy your time? And how did you
find Sonny?
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I was just listening to radio this morning. I'm working, but.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
I'm glad you found us, and I'm so glad you listen,
and thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
I hope you have an excellent Monday and have fun
with Veto.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Thank you, let's hitt out to Katie and speak with
a nurse, Lindsey.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Does Michael have any pet name for you other than
trophy wife? Just princess friend sie. Now wait a minute, now,
sometimes that could be kind of like a negative if
you're a little bit demanding and you walk around like royalty.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
How did you get the name princess?
Speaker 4 (09:53):
He just had that for me a long time ago,
but I told him when we had children, I've been
upgraded to queen, very nice, a woman who knows what
she wants, the queen, lindsay, that is his hysterical Well,
you and Michael have the best time together and many
happy years of marriage.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Thank you so much. And as my husband always.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Says, and you never had a fight, right there you go,
yeah you got it.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Well, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
That would the greas
