Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sunday night, and I'm quite one at Dana with producer Anthony.
We've got Houston's best variety of the eighties, nineties and
today and the three things you need to know to
get your Thursday, July thirty first started. Well, it just
reminds me of the movie men at work, Anthony, Emilio Estevez,
his brother, Charlie Sheen.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
This is last year we throw trash. That last year,
you have it this year.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
I mean, it's it last year.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Just think of the garbage business has a way station
on the road. Joy I one of Sheen's best. But
it was a terrible moviment. It's so funny. My husband
and I watched it over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, I was like, I never even laughed, but there
were some funny parts. And I bring a garbage truck
movie up because the city's getting thirty one new garbage trucks,
brand spanking new, and it's to cut back on the
delays that they've been experiencing in garbage pickup recently. It's
twelve million dollars worth of trucks and they should be
(00:56):
online very soon.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Hey, this is pretty exciting. This is for real.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
At Bush Airport, they've expanded the ride share pickup zone,
doubling its size, allowing for smoother traffic flow, reducing wait times.
They've got thirty six new Echo Park Echo Park shuttle areas,
the revamped car rental to the car shuttle pickup area.
All of these have been revamped for smoother flow, so
(01:21):
it should make a better experience. I hope focus across anyway.
You do not want to miss your flight like my
son did. You've got to reserve parking. Check out all
the parking areas by contacting them, fly the number two
Houston dot com. And remember, with this extreme heat we've
been experiencing. Check on your elderly neighbor's real tragedy at
(01:45):
an apartment off Aldine Bender the thermostat the thermostat inside
the apartment at ninety nine degrees. Linda Thomas wished she
had gone to her eighty year old aunt's apartment sooner.
She succumbed to that heat and trying to get her
out of there, but didn't do it soon enough. So
weather today, now, if we get the rain, Rain's been
(02:06):
cooling things off, so we could have rain today tomorrow.
Lots of rain possible on Saturday. Matter of fact, it's
going to be a weather aware day today. We've got
a twenty percent chance going to go up to ninety four.
Right now, it's eighty one in Uptown and you're up
to date on sunny. Tell me something good brought to
us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Today we are
(02:27):
focused on teachers. Well, we should always be focused on teachers,
but especially this time of year, because teachers are getting
the classrooms ready for our kids. And we are thanking
Pomeroy Elementary School teacher Nancy Zavala, who pours her heart
into her students. And if there's a special teacher you know,
one that you love so much who has made such
a big difference in your child's life, go ahead and
(02:50):
nominate them for our iHeart thankd teacher. It's powered by
donors chose they could win five thousand dollars to supply
their classrooms with whatever they need. You can go to
iHeart dot com slash teachers for all the details.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Producer Anthony Dane. This is really cool.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
A design firm that designed the inside of that incredible
Las Vegas sphere will now be setting their sights on
the stars and doing it via Houston Starlab Space. They're
a Houston based company aiming to build a commercial space station.
They've now added that Vegas designer Journey as one of
their partners, and they join established names like Hilton Airbus
and Palante Your Technologies as partners for the space station.
Their CEO and former astronauts is they want to create
(03:29):
an intuitive and comfortable environment for astronauts that allows them
to fully focus on their mission. Journey understands how to
merge design and technology in a very unique context. They're
going to help make Starlab not just a successful platform
in low Earth orbit, but also an exceptional place to
work and live. This is awesome data. I can't wait
to see what comes to this because that's fear in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
It's incredible. Definitely on my bucket list.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
And that new star Lab space station they're aiming for
a launch window sometime in twenty twenty nine.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
And you know, you've got to thank teachers for inspiring
that right is right to do these incredible things. So
what's going on in the Klein ISD District?
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Well a lot.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Apparently they have a huge spike in enrollment. More than
fifteen hundred new students have enrolled a fifteen percent increase
over last year. So what's the deal. Well, the teachers
are amazing. The have very extreme high academic standards. They
have a strong athletic program and an amazing quality of
(04:28):
life in the Klein areas. Wow, really cool and for
our feel good stories. Each weekday mornings set a preset
on the new and improved iHeartRadio app to sunny naety
nine point one Sunday ninety nine point one, Houston's best
variety of the eighties, nineties, and Today I'm Dana with
producer Anthony who knows. Maybe you're in the process of
buying a home right now. I love the process, and
(04:50):
so you found the perfect home. The question is was
the kitchen your dream kitchen? Eighty five percent of us
say the kitchen is the most important room in the
head house.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Now doesn't need to be a dream kitchen today.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
As long as it's got potential for tomorrow, that vision
right of what it will be. We're asking you if
you have the vision or if you got your dream kitchen. Georgia, Anne,
Now you got your home in sugar Land. Did you
get your dream kitchen when you got the home? Or
are you working on your dream kitchen?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I got my dream kitchen, but I could use an update.
What was it?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
What was like you walked into that house in sugar
Land and said, oh.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
My gosh, this is it? What was it about the kitchen,
bom the island, the island.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Are there seats at the island or is it just
you know, got some cabinets.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Its cabinets, no seats? And so what what is your
dream glow up kitchen? What would you do to change
your kitchen?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Make it lighter, bigger island, get a larger range.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Ah, very nicely.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Now is it because the family's growing or just because
now you know what you really love?
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I have a big family.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I cook a lot. Ah, very nice. That's why the
kitchen is important.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
What would be your favorite meal that everyone comes to
George Anne's house to experience?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Gosh, grip roast you it is? And what about baking?
Do you make desserts too?
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yes? What's what's your what's your go to dessert?
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Man, I'm telling you what.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Everyone the family needs together, get together to come up
with some money to blow up that kitchen into the
ideal beautiful kitchen for you.
