Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday ninety nine point one in Houston's Best Variety of
the eighties, nineties, and Today Dana in the Morning and
producer Anthony in the Three Things We Need to Know
to get our Monday, May twelve started while our city
is getting ready for a permanent pedestrian corridor through downtown.
It's going to be cool the Main Street PROMNAD. It's
a project that is going to close the north and
southbound lanes of seven city blocks along Main Street, and

(00:25):
the construction will begin next month. Well, imagine your prescription
drug price is dropping thirty to eighty percent. It could happen.
President is set to sign an executive order today setting
Americans pay five to ten times more on meds than
other nations, and these prices are expected to drop thirty
to eighty percent almost immediately upon signing that executive order,

(00:48):
and our power grid faces its first major test of
this season. We are going to feel like July this week, yes,
with temperatures in the upper nineties by Wednesday and the
nineties right through next week. So enjoy today, beautiful sunny
eighty five for the high. Right now, it's sixty two
in Uptown and you're up to date on Sunday ninety

(01:10):
nine point one. Tell me something good brought to us
by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Well, the Astros had
a beautiful fashion show. Actually it wasn't the Astros, it
was the Astros wives. They were the show and the
players were the fans. It was the annual Astros Foundation
Champions for Healthy Families Fashion Show. The show raises money

(01:32):
for the Astros Foundation, which benefits more than seventy nonprofits
all over town. The players acknowledged that it was time
to give their wives the spotlight. They couldn't do what
they do without their wives. So what a fun Mother's
Day weekend for those Astros wives. One of them was
pregnant and she's like, I'm so nervous, but what a
great way to celebrate, you know, Mom's day.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Absolute lovely. Producer Anthony Dana was so sad to see
what it does have a happy outcome. See Jericho the
He was found by a street feet of feeder last month,
dumped in what people have called the Corridor of Cruelty.
It's awful. It's an area where not many dogs make
it out of and even worse Dane he was trapped
underneath a couch, he would have only lived a few days.
Well done, Director VP of Quarridor Rescue found Jericho became

(02:15):
his medical foster. She found out he was four years old.
Should have weighed ninety pounds, Dame, but he in reality
he only weighed sixty. Well, his story got out. He
got the attention and love he desperately needed. They were
concerned he wouldn't even walk again, but you know how
these animals can absolutely rally when just given the chance.
He's now gaining weight, even has had some rounds of
chemo to help his inflame nervous system. He's actually walking again,
defying the odds, and his face has so much joy.

(02:37):
Once he's done with his chemo, Dan, he's going to
be looking for his forever homes. If you'd like to
find out more about Jericho, maybe open up your home
to this good boy. Check out Corridor Rescue dot org.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
He is so sweet.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Oh what a story.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
And more doggies. The Houston Humane Society celebrated Pet Moms
yesterday and actually all weekend long, giving away two hundred
and fifty Disney themed pet beds while highlighting the bond
between pets and their owners. It happened to add a
drive through Saturday at the annual wellness clinic on Almeda Road.
The shelter director there Aaron Gray, said it was all

(03:12):
about recognizing pet caregiver. I love that.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Isn't that great? Greaty.

Speaker 1 (03:18):

(03:40):
I got a beautiful bouquet from my husband, who knows
I love boots, so we kind of put boots in
a bouquet together. You can check it out on Instagram.
Sunday ninety nine easton Hyserahal. Anyway, I told them I girl, Bob,
I did. I kind of knocked you in the video,
but not really. I love it so much. So anyway,
but he didn't make the pop roast that's my favorite.

(04:01):
We're asking you about your Mother's Day. Did you do
something kind, selfish, for self less, for mom kind of like, mom, is,
we've got Lucia calling in from New cany now you
are a babysitter. Did you do anything special for the moms?

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Actually, what I did is I gave out coupons who
were a free babysitting night, A free you know, like
I they want to go to the gym or you know,
I mean that's the best I could do with you know,
right now, give out.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
A that's huge, that's awesome, the best thing ever.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Really, Oh my gosh, I bet the mom like, how
many kids are you babysitting?

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Sometimes it's too sometimes history, but yeah, babies. But you
know sometimes they can actually take them to the gym
where they have a babysit, right, you know, there's to me.
And so I thought it was because I can't afford
to give them my lavish gifts, but I said, well
a coupon will do, right.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Oh, the time away from the kids is like priceless, huge, Lucilla,
that is the And you know we can actually do
that for moms all year round, not just on Mother's Day, right.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
That's true. Oh yeah, sometimes I even say, hey, I'm
going to go ahead and take the kid for the day,
and you guys watch those you know a load that
I can do for them because I'm they're looking at TV,
Miss Rachel, and might as well watch some clothes for them.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
That is wow.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
You can have your little folding party when you're watching
your favorite Hallmark movie right.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Well, you know it's a little bit rougher on the
single mom, so I do appreciate that I'm able to
help them out in different ways.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Oh, you are just an angel, Lucia, That's what I'm
talking about. Oh, I bet you just made Mother's day
so wonderful for these ladies. Thank you for sharing such
a great idea. Lucia, my pleasure and we're glad that
you listen to Sonny. We hope that we can bring
you a little bit of joy every day.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Oh, it's joy all the time. From Fundy
