Speaker 1 (00:10):
Friday, September twenty sixth started well, there is a Texas
city that's ranked number one, the number one host city
for FIFA twenty twenty six and it's not Houston. We
did come in at number five, right, but this city, yeah,
little I forty five up north there because of their
massive state no match allocation. They said it's an excellent

(00:31):
value talking about Dallas. But again we at least came
in number five, top five, Oh yeah, and looking forward
to that. Hey, a U of H survey finds employed
workers want to find new jobs and here are the
reasons why. Because of the cost of living, they are
looking at job instability, not feeling very confident about their

(00:53):
current jobs, and the fears of.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
An AI takeover.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
And the Astros in a desperate attempt to make the playoffs,
one game behind Detroit for the.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Wild card.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
They beat the Athletics yesterday and now they begin their
final series against the Angels tonight on the road.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Go Astros come on astros.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Weather today beautiful, much better because the humidity dropped overnight.
We're gonna go up to eighty eight. Still gonna warm
up though. Same for this weekend, up to ninety. It'll
be sunny, but lower humidity. Right now, it's seventy in
Uptown and you're up to date. I'm sunny. Tell me
something good. Brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
What a Burger?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
What a collection of products nothing to do with burgers
and fries. No, What a Burger is teaming up with Sandero,
a western ware store in San Antonio for What a Rodeo?
Featuring hoodies and button downs, tees and hats. Now, this
line was released on Wednesday. Anthony so popular. Some of

(01:58):
the items have already saw, like a hoodie that says,
what a rodeo it's been. Waterburger also has a book
and puzzled collection. Oh and don't forget the Waterburger limited
time drop the Sweet Style and tailgating products at Academy
Sports and Outdoors.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
They're making it so fun, aren't they. Yeah, they have
everything of it.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I do.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Producer Anthony Dane. There's a fun event coming up out
in sugar Land. It will soon once again come alive
with the sites and tastes of the Philippines. It's the
Houston Filipino Street Festival. Organizers say it's actually become the
largest Filipino celebration in Texas. Expect amazing performances, a children's area,
tons of vendors. One of the main experiences, they say,
is getting to try the traditional le chon. It's a

(02:40):
spit roasted pig, slow cooked over open coals. It's always
great too when you learn that it's all designed to
do good. At portion of proceeds from the festival help
fund scholarships for deserving students. All are welcome, the perfect
opportunity for those who haven't experienced Filipino culture.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
So excited.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
It's the Houston Filipino Street Festival, going down just a
few weeks at Constellation Field October eighteenth. It's put on
by the Filipino Young Professionals of Houston. You can find

thirty until ten thirty. Saint Jude Children's Research Walk is
going to be out there.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I would love to meet you. Come on out. You'll
get your t shirt.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
You got to check out the details, and don't forget
you could actually win a dream home and help the
kids at Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital for one hundred dollars. Yeah,
that's how much the tickets cost. One hundred dollars and
you're helping out these kids. The home is beautiful. It's
valued at almost five hundred thousand dollars, four bedrooms, three

(03:37):

Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties, and Today Day
in the Morning and producer Anthony on a Feel Good
Friday and Anthony, I have to share a feel good
story because this is just a literal feel good I

(04:08):
went outside this morning to do my burpies and I
got goosebumps.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I was like, my gosh, are these goosebumps?

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I normally wear like just sweatpants and a short sleeved
t shirt outside, bare feet out in the grass doing
my burpies, and I'm going I feel goosebumps.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Like actually so cool out because of the like chill
in the air. Yeah, it was actually that cool. So
it just made me so happy.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
And you start thinking of fall off, Yeah, the wonders
of fall. You know, in my house, I keep my
ac on really cold so I can like cuddle up.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yes, but if you think, now this is real, it's
a real it's a real cuddle up.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
So you're right, And I experienced a little bit of
that this past weekend too, Like if you get up
early enough, like you're like you're kind of sensing that,
like that that lower humidity and that that cool of
fall that we're all waiting for that's on the way.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
It just makes our minds, I think a little bit happier.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
We'll just done with ease down, I mean, on with
the heat by this point in the summer or the
end of the summer, I mean you're you've checked out
of that oppressive humidity and you know it's October.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
That's what I'm saying, a little bit of fault over it.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
So we would love to hear something that made you
feel it could be literal. It could be someone who
made you feel good. Maybe you made someone feel good
on our feel Good Friday. We love hearing your story
sharing with Houston our number seven one three two, And
how did.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
You feel when you went outside this morning?

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Right?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Seven one three two one two five ninety nine one
Sunday ninety.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Nine point one.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Excuse me, oh my god, it must be a change
in the air. Anyway, I'm Dana with producer Anthony. We've
got Houston's best variety of the eighties, nineties and today
on a much better feeling Friday.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
I mean it actually feels good.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
We're gonna go up to eighty eight today, but right
now it's seventy in Uptown, lower humidity.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
We are loving it, and.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
We're asking you that was what made me feel good today,
going outside and getting some repeal super cool this morning.
We're asking you if you made anyone feel good, how
you feel good today? To share your story. Now we've
got Kayla, a teacher in splendor. Now, what age kids
do you teach?

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Elementary? I teach third grade math and science. So go simitastic.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Okay, Now this is our feel good Friday.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
I bet there's either a student that made you feel
good this week, maybe a parent, or maybe you made
someone feel good.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
We'd love you to share your story.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Oh yes, of course. So I have a little guy
I'm not going to say names, and he's super super
super high energy, high energy, but he's the sweetest kid.
And so he one of those that a lot of
times people kind of like, oh, not a problem child,
but just like, oh, he's a handful, right right right.
But the other day I was so proud of him.

(06:52):
He was being such a good helper. He was being
pure support for his friends and like going out of
his way to clean up and help. So I said,
you know what, dude, like, I'm gonna call your mom.
I'm gonna give you a little shout out. And so
after school, on the way home, I called his mom
and I just bragged on how great he was, and
she was like, oh my gosh, thank you so much,

(07:14):
like people don't usually say this about him, and she
was just like almost in tears, and so it just
felt really good, like sometimes even like difficult kids, which
he's not even difficult, but you know they need that too,
parents need that too. And it just like turned his
whole life around and the very next day he was like,
can you call again.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Me beautiful? That is the best story. Oh, thank you
for sharing that. What wisdom. So now we can do
the same thing. Yes, oh that is excellent Kayla. And
do I hear a child in the background.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Yeah, I had my two kiddos with me. My daughter
actually is in my class this year, she's a third grader.
And then our little guy, he's too.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
That is f you lucky lady. You know we forget
that our teachers have their own kids too.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Really, and well, I'm so glad you joined our show.
I'm so glad we got to learn a little bit
about you and and your students.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
And Kayla, thank you for all you do. Thank you
for making it a feel good Friday for us.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
We love listening, so thank you for our Friday jam
