Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's Best Variety of the
eighties nineties. And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony and
we've got the three things to get your Come on,
Anthony say it.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Oh you know Friday Eve y'all.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Who started for your August fourteenth and Lamar Little League.
They just couldn't do it yesterday. You know, they're at
the World Series in Williamsport, battling for a big World
Series win. They lost to Connecticut yesterday. Final score one nothing.
They've got to win Saturday or they will be eliminated. Well,
it's the second school bus crash at Cleveland ISD this

(00:37):
first week of school, the third bus crash this week
though yesterday all fifty eight students were observed at the hospital,
some with minor injuries, thank goodness, no major injuries.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
On investigation is underway.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
And starting tomorrow, we're going to start with a nice breeze,
then some tropical rains. By Saturday, sixty percent chance of rain.
We could have some strong thunderstorms. Only going to be
a weather aware weekend. Please keeping a close eye on
a tropical wave. Tropical Storm Aarin could become our first
major hurricane of the season and today. So we've got
a forty percent chance of rain today, we're going to

(01:12):
go up to ninety two. Right now, it's seventy nine
in Uptown and you're up to date on sunny. Tell
me something good brought to us by our friends at
Goodwill Houston. Now, this happened three weeks ago. A precious
deer got stuck in a fence. Remember that story, Anthony, Oh, Yes, Well,
yesterday happened again. Preasing four deputies called out to another
deer trapped in a fence near Will Clayton Parkway in

(01:34):
a task Asita, little deer, struggling to free yourself. They
were able to calm her down, helped her get through.
The deer then just bounced off into the woods, unharmed
and happy to be free. Preasing four posted this whole
thing pictures and they said it was a reminder it's
our job to protect all who call this community home,
people and wildlife alike.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
YEA, I look that, yeah, Producer.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Anthony Dane, What a story of survival. Bj Smith was
sent to the Memorial Hermann Emergency or of twenty years
ago and was brought in with a catastrophic brain injury.
In fact, he was dead on arrival and was only
given a ten percent chance of surviving. But after four
brain surgeries, a stroke, and three weeks in a coma,
he beat down those odds. BJ had to relearn how
to walk, talk, beat, and dress himself. He even lost

(02:18):
sixty five percent of his vision. And remember Dane, this
was twenty years ago. Fast forward to last week. He
walks back into the hospital to say thank you to
the staff members who helped save his life. He's embraced
his second chance and knowson never take another moment for granted.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
And I love that he was able to have the
reunion with his hero Dane.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Incredible to think about all the life he's been able
to experience because of our angels in healthcare.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Here.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Thank you to the staff at Memorial Herman Er performing
miracles and saving lives on the daily.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
What a story. That is amazing.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
And Cyprus, you're pretty amazing. You are actually number one.
There's a new report from Moving Place analyzed over six
point three million moves this year and the top zip
codes where people are relocating.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
It's in Texas typically wearing Texas.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Seven seven four three three In Cyprus thirty six hundred
people moved to Cyprus.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
So far this year alone.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Wow, and they're looking for more space and quiet lifestyle.
That's not too bad, oh, Katie. Zip code seven seven
four nine three came in number five. So congratulations and
Cyprus and Katie love you guys so much, and we
thank you for listening and for our feel good stories.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Each weekday mornings set.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
A preset on the new and improved iHeartRadio app to
Sonny Natty nine point one, Sunday Natty nine point one
Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties. And Today I'm
Dana with producer Anthony, and we learned in our nearly
impossible question at six forty forty percent of.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Us need to be reminded to eat lunch.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
You know, there are some people I've learned I'm an
emotional eater Anthony, Oh definitely, and there are others who
just could care less about food.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I'm kind of in I love food, but I'm not Yes,
I'm not emotionally invested in.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
The not I mean, you just you do your thing.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
I was talking to Anthony and he said, you said
you were eating spinach, and I was like, like cream
spinach or this was part of the old lunch. You
go just get spinach leaves, so you get your fiber.
You put nothing on them, and you have spinach leaves.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
For lunch and maybe some goldfish.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
If I have that around old fish in our meetings,
it's usually in the back unfulfilling lunch.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I think, I the goldh I'll do, but spinach leaves.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I never never said it was exciting.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Because because food isn't a thing for you, I wish
I was like that. I get anxious and I just eat.
I've got to have my cheese, my grapes, my.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
I just get get it.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
So I've tried to do what Anthony does to try
to make lunch not an issue and just use it
to fuel my body.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Correct. So I started. I made it super simple and convenient.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I heat up, I make some fresh chicken broth, and
I held a cup of chicken broth lunch now, and
then I just have dinner.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
And you've been showing me those pictures of the is
that the one with the chicken you can feed it
in there.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I got a shirt tail farm in Brenham, and I
get packages of chicken feet and I put them in
my broth with all kinds of vegetables, basically everything that's
left over in my refrigerator and just let it simmer
all day with chicken bones and chicken feet and it
is absolutely.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Gold in a cup. That sounds amazing.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Kind I think I would that flavor, Anthony, And my
mission to try to not be so emotionally attached to food,
I've really gotten over that I used to eat a
huge lunch and just by doing that, I'm I should
be weight wise.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
And it's because of you, Anthony.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Well, I'm glad I could inspire a little bit, but
I think the thing is for me. It's like, I know,
for lunch, we get up so early and then the
hours are long, the days long, and it's like I
find that I'm able to go longer if I if that,
if I don't like stop down or make that like
a huge event, like, well, we'll still we'll still enjoy dinner,
and we still love going out, and we still we
still like making you know, a whole thing of food.

(05:57):
But just for my day to day lunch, it's just
like it's got to be like much quicker and easier,
you know exactly, And it's high energy for you too,
and well it helps fuel you for the rest of
the day. And to be fair, you do a lot
more physically in a day than I did.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yes, So I want a split challenge, a thirty day
split challenge that my daughter's daughter, Emma, who's fourteen, she
called me and she's like, you've got to start doing
splits with me.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
So we'll do a video of me doing a spot. Okay,
we'll see how far I and not just that.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
All the exercising you get in the morning, like you
do way more than me. So like I get food
like I would be. I would be just really physically
hungry if I did what you did.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
So I get it. I get it, But the question
is do so I I don't need to be reminded.
My whole point is I don't need to be reminded
to eat. It's a big issue in my life. But Anthony, yeah,
I could totally see you forgetting about lunch. I have
a few days. Yes, it's not an issue. What about you?

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Do you have to actually be reminded to eat your lunch?
Seven one threat and what are you having for lunch?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh? Yeah, really, I want to know. Seven ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
One, Sunday, ninety nine point one, Houston, it's best for
I E. Nineties and today with Dane in the morning
and producer Anthony, we're gonna get some sun, we're gonna
get some rain, and the rain chances increase towards the weekend.
We've got this tropical wave that's kind of sticking around.
So today a forty percent chance of rain, going up
to ninety two. Right now, it's seventy nine in uptown

(07:12):
and nearly impossible. Question forty percent of you need to
be reminded to eat lunch?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
I'm like always about lunch, which is like one of
my favorite meals. But anyway, we're asking you, will you
get so busy at work? Do you need to be
reminded to eat lunch?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yes, Anthony does.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
And Troy, we've got calling in from Tumbull. Now you're
working at an inn administration at an elementary school. Now,
when did Tumbull go back to school?

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Troy? We actually started back yesterday. Yesterday?

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Okay, So is it a busy year to the point
where you have to be reminded to eat lunch?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Or are you like me and an emotional eater to
deal with the stress of all those kids? Oh?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Man, I always forget to eat my lunch, remember until
after school is over.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yes, it happens, Troy. How do you just come on?
How do you keep the energy going though? Do you
have a big breakfast, lots of coffee, lots of like
how many cups do you think you're drinking a day?
I don't want to be bad, but for O that
was me, Troy.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Do you have some amazing person who is preparing your
coffee every day? Or are you the coffee guy?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
I'm the coffee guy for sure, Troy. That is so funny.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
So you don't you just drink coffee throughout the day
and that keeps you going? Do you have relax at
home and have a nice dinner with the family.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
We do.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
I definitely have a big dinner at the end of
the day. Yeah me, Troy.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Like what do you normally are you making it? You've
got a wife maybe making your dinner. What's what's your
go to for dinner after putting off food all day?

Speaker 2 (08:37):
We usually split the duties so but usually it's I
get the double portions. Uh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
I wish that could be like you, where I'm just
so focused on other stuff that food doesn't become an issue.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
And I bet you have high energy during the day,
don't you. I tend to yes, yeah. Yeah. People don't
realize that and it really brings you down sometimes. The thing.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Okay, now, what about for the teacher appreciation days when
everyone's tasked with bringing in amazing cast roles?

Speaker 2 (09:07):
What do you do on those days? Troy?

Speaker 1 (09:10):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Exactly? Exactly?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Well, that's the best. And so what exactly do you
do there? Are you liking a principal and assistant principle?

Speaker 2 (09:19):
So I work for the principal. I'm the secretary for him. Awesome? Yeah,
how did you get into education? What was it? Honestly,
my wife started in just more time with the kids
at home during the summers. It just works. Well, you
guys right, definitely, that's excellent.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Well, we hope you have the best year at school,
and thank you for letting us be a part of
your school day.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
We appreciate you. Thank you so much. We love listening
to you every day.
