Today It's back to school for HISD, Fort Ben, Tomball,
Spring a Leaf, Santa Fe. Remember those school zones are
in effect. And yesterday it was kind of a scary morning.
Around six point thirty in the morning, a Cleveland ISD
school bus hairing high school and ninth graders in an accident,
flipped onto a grassy medium. All students safe. Parents were

notified immediately. Still no word though on the cause of
that crash, but again so thankful everyone was okay. And
Carlos Carrea came back to the Astros last night, and
so did Alex Bregman. But Correa played with the Astros
against Alex Bregman and his Boston Red Sox.

And we beat them seven to six.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Before the gain, Correa said, I never thought I'd get
to put on this uniform again.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's such a blessing. His number number one.

And he got a standing ovation. It's pretty cool at
Dyke in Park. Weather today, Yes, we are looking Anthony
and I are looking at some dark clouds on the horizon,

schools starting. We're stressed out, but we just as a fan,
we want to relax.

Well, there are five family friendly restaurants around town that
are getting rave reviews. One of them Lulu's Day and
Night in Northwest Houston. Lots of green space for those
kids to run around in.

It's closed on Mondays.

You can find it at twelve twenty three West thirty
fourth Street. You've got Little Ray, a playful text Mex
place that you know your orders come super fast. The
kids love their crispy, cheesyquesadilla and soft serve ice cream.

Oaks, Live Oak grill in sugar Land, Texas style comfort
food that the kids will love Tuesday Tonight pasta night,
great play area.

It's classic Greek and it kind of has fun with
the twist on kids' favorites like the buck Lava French toast.
Very spacious for kids to move around in. And this

South America's Pantanol at the Houston Zoo just welcomed a
new baby bird's taper. A female calf was born overnight
on July twenty third to Mom Molly and Dad Noah,
weighing eighteen pounds. Baird's tapers are an ancient group of
animals known as living fossils. They're related to like a
primitive horse or rhinoceros. They are the largest land mammal
in South America. Females larger than males can weigh up
to seven hundred pounds. The taper is becoming curious and vocal,

who often squeaks at Mom, loves spending time in the
water using Mom as a jungle gym. Her energy bursts
come in the form of these mini zoomies, and she's
even begun nibbling on solid foods and really cool. Guests
can actually help save wild tapers in South America by
visiting the new cap at the Houston Zoo. A portion
of each zoo ticket and membership supports the Zoo's taper
conservation partners, and starting Monday, guests can see the new

baby spotted taper in the mixed species habitat, where she
can be found living with the giant ant eaters and
Kapi bara.

HISD students back today, but before doors opened. Over the weekend,
the HISD Athletic Department honored some of the district's brightest
athletes and coaches at the twenty twenty five Hall of
Fame Honors ceremony at Delmore Field House. The athletic director
Andre Walker said this is an encouragement to future students.

Fourteen people and one team, the nineteen sixty eight to
seventy Wheatly Watch basketball team were inducted into the Hall
of Fame and Lamar High School Tom Nolan top five
in all time wins for high school coaches in Texas.
Was so happy to be in the same class as
a former Madison High School coach. So it was an
all around good time over the weekend for the HISD

Athletic Department and for our feel good stories. Each weekday
mornings set a preset on the new and improved iHeartRadio
app to Sunny Nattie nine point one, Sunday naety nine
point one Dana with producer Anthony and what makes us
feel young and outdoor activity? It was our nearly impossible question.
We learned the answer phishing, which there's so many out

directed I know, right, that makes you feel young And
I just started thinking, you know, this is a special
time of year for the kids to just have fun.
It's back to school, it's exciting. They get a little
nervous making new friends. So we as parents have a
lot to do with that, reducing that anxiety by our attitude.
So if we can just do things that make us

feel young and excited, so we can kind of step
into their shoes for a little while. I think it's
a really good way to start the year.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Is that why you did the splits earlier? That's why
I did this split. That was showing young I. Dana
really did. No, I really did.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
But I didn't realize I could do a split until
I was playing with the kids outside.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
They were all gymnastics and I thought, well, I could
do a split. Me I did, so I just showed
Anthony on the floor.

She proved me wrong, silenced the haters here because you
were all the way down.

I was not expecting that. Wow. So here's our question.

If you're going to school now, we would love to
talk to the kids, find out how there are days

caught you before you got dropped off.
