and the time of these news stores not yet announced.
Weather today gonna be summer like we've got the first
day of fall.

Naty nine point one, Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties.
And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony, and we learned
that we are twenty five percent happier if we have
a walking trail near our house. That was a nearly
impossible question this morning. My kids and we grew up.

(03:57):
The kids grew up in the woodlands. We now live
out in the country, but we were right near walking
trails and Anthony, I loved the walking trails. My boys
rode bikes on them. My daughter hated the walking trails.
I'll never really why because I was a little bit
extreme in my walk. Now, I didn't just go on

(04:19):
the walking trail. I took weights with me. Of course,
I put weights around my ankles. I made the trail
work for me, and so I'll never forget my daughter was.
She was in high school, and she's like, Mom, I've
got to start working out.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
I got this, Danny. You come with me.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
We'll go walk the trail and I'll show you what
you can do. She was so I had the weights,
she had her weights, and I was just on fire.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
I love you, my daughter.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
By the time she got home, she said, I am
never going on a walk with you ever.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Mom. You don't even relax. You didn't even have fun.
I go, are you kidding me? This is so much fun.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
She will not take a walk with me on a
walking trail or anywhere because I always have to add
a little bit of exercise, being too intense.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
A little too would.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Have exactly exactly, but that's what made me happy. She
just wanted to relax and then just walk and walk
the trail.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
She found the man of her dreams and they just
take walks together. And which is nowe I know it's
And Bob never takes a walk with me. I just
I just like to just I'm a little bit more
high energy.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I get it. Now you we've found our walking trails.
Do you use them? Do you just look at them?
Do they actually think about it?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Do they actually bring you extra happiness knowing that you've
got a walking trail right frout your house. Because man,
our subdivisions are so good at creating these beauties and
parks for our kids. What's been your experience. We'd love
to hear from you seven one three two one two
five ninety nine one one two.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Now I'm Data.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
It's producer Anthony and we've got Houston's Best Variety of
the eighties, nineties and today talking about the walking trails
all around our houses in these subdivisions all over Houston.
We learned this morning in our nearly impossible question that
walking trails bring us twenty five percent more happiness because
we use them there just it's nice to have them there.

(06:18):
And I'm asking you if you're really using them or
if you just like to look at them. And we've
got Mariella calling in from Cypress Beautiful. Do you have
walking trails around your home in Cypress Mariela, Well, we.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Have walking trails, but it's more like little parks inside
the neighborhoods or some are big market as well.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
And so is that why you bought your house? Does
it bring you happiness to have these parks and trails
all around.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Uh, it definitely does. I'm a high energy lau. It's
so funny when you show your story, you share your
story story. I was like, I feel the same way.
I mean, walking for me doesn't do the job. I
had to add something extra exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yes, It's just so funny how people are made Mariala
because my husband also is like my daughter. They just
want it. When they go for a walk, it means
you just walk. But for me, I'm like, well why
not take it to the next level?

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Right, Yes, And so funny because I have three kids.
My first two kids always complain when we walk. It's
like it's so hot, it's just too fat. And my
youngest one he's four right now, and again it's so
funny because he has so much energy that I have
to walk with him before he goes to school. Actually,

(07:34):
I'm on my way to the park right now.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Because you know, you got to get that energy out right.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Yes, he he's used to walking with me and he
always walks like like fast, Yes, go to a trail
kids instantly. No, he's a runner. He's like run and
I'm okay, okay, go run.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
You know you need to do with the kids.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
I did this with mine again, another thing that my
daughter hated. I would do lunges with them on the
walk trail, you know, and then I go, come on, guys,
we could do ten more lunges.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
You're so great. After some of the kids liked it,
the other ones didn't, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
It's yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
My two older one, I'm like, no, no, just being
a mom. But my youngest one he's keepsing me young.
He's like, okay, let's wrong. Let's en with you.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, yeah, you got your dream child though. Mariella telling
you you two are gonna bond.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
That's excellent. What's what's his name?

Speaker 4 (08:29):
His name is Christian.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Well, you and Christian have an excellent, fast paced walk
this morning, and make sure you take us along. You're
a sweetheart, thanks for sharing, okay.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
