There's a young guy from Dickinson inspiring a whole community
all because of their support. His name is Tate Walco.
He's a seventh grader at Dickinson Junior High. He has
high functioning autism. He's worked super hard beat the odds
after trying different sports, and at his last game with
the Dickinson Junior High basketball team, he hit a shot
that hit that his team and his family won't soon forget.
His mom, Brittany says his one minute in a game
(02:54):
means more to her than somebody making twenty points a game.
And as coach Terrence says, he was in a position
to make his dream come true. So Tate shot and
got his actual first bucket, not only of the season,
but this is his first point ever playing the sport.
So he's now part of a brotherhood, something that fills
his parents with joy, singing him do the other things
that the other kids are doing. His parents never put
(03:15):
limits on what he can achieve, and they're proud of
the support and acceptance of the community, hoping everyone can
do the same for more kids like him. So, great job,
Tate walco out in Dickinson, showing the community what's possible.
