Speaker 3 (00:45):
Well this weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday, November tewod. The clocks fall
back an hour at two am, so we get an
extra hour sleep, but we get our days that become darker.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Way that's right.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Well, and we did have some rain over the weekend,
measurable rain, like three inches of rain in some spots,
but the weather today, no rain and summer like, we're
gonna go up to eighty five. But here's the deal,
it's gonna get super spooky as the week progresses.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
A cold front moving through.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Temperatures could plummet thirty degrees waking up in the fifties
on Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
In the forties on Halloween morning.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
It's true, it's possible right now though it's sixty nine
in uptown and Europe to date on sunny telling you
something good brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Well, it is the spookiest time of the year. Yeah,
this is Halloween week.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
So if you want to see something really spooky, like
a boatload of bats, well they're all over Texas. There
is common as rats in New York City, right here
in the lone Star State. They love our insects. They
love the heat. It provides incubation for mothering bats. We
have huge amounts of these Mexican free tailed bats underneath,
(02:00):
like the one big bridge.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
With bats, the waw Drive bats. Two hundred and fifty
thousand bats under that bridge. But wait, that's nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
In downtown San Antonio they are the spookiest of all.
Over fifteen million bats.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Whoah, that's wild. I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Producer Anthony Dana Holiday Fave is returning to the Wartham
Center next month, but this year's even more special. The
Houston Ballet's production of The Nutcracker will include a sensory
friendly performance on opening day. And the ballet has been
bringing sensory friendly performances to Houston since twenty fifteen, but
this is going to be the first one at the
Wortham Center. So neurodivergent individuals and their families going to
(02:41):
be able to experience the art in ways that feel
comfortable to them. So the house lights will be on,
audience members can enter and exit the theaters as needed.
So look forward to Houston Ballet's The Nutcracker. It's running
from November twenty eight through December over at our Wortham Center.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
I love that they do that, and the rodeo does
that to right. Really, it is just so good. I
want to talk about the athlete of the week, straight
Jesuit college Prep senior Johnny Hubert. He makes all A's
couple of bees in school, loves English, calls himself though
the math guy, but in addition to being a scholar,
he loves football. See he's got five brothers. They all
(03:17):
play football all the time together. Last year he ran
for three thousand, five hundred and forty two yards, the
most in the state, second in the nation. And his advice,
and I love this. He says, football is a selfless sport.
You won't do what you do without other guys.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Doing what they do. So true, so good.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
I love it, So Johnny Hebert, great advice, and keep
up the good work. And congratulations on being the athlete
of the week. And for our feel good stories each
weekday mornings set a preset on the new and improved
iHeartRadio app to Sonny naety nine point one Sunny ninety

gonna freeze or anything, but it's gonna get cold. Not today,
though today's gonna be sunny. We'll go up to eighty five.
Right now it is seventy in Uptown. Late tomorrow, something
spooky's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I don't know. The witches, the Goblin's gonna pull that
temperature down thirty degrees. We can wake up Wednesday morning
tempts in the fifties.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Friday morning on Halloween temperatures could be in the forties.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Whoa, I'm here for. That is that's not scary, that's
very welcome. That actually is very welcome. You're right right now,
it's seventy in Uptown. We're talking about scary movies.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
I mean, there are so many of the classic scary movies.
Texas chains saw massacre, scary exorsus.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I won't mess with that anymore. No, I'm not mess
I don't mess with that anymore.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I mean that messed up everybody.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Now.
Speaker 3 (04:52):

that apparently it is like the hottest ticket around now.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Well, no, I mean it's and I'm not a big
horror person. Jess like she's trying to get me around
on him, and I've come around to a few of
the things. My sister Megan is like insane with this stuff.
She's all about the Saw movie, Like that's way too
far from me. But I did see Sinners this year
and I and the thing that hooked me Dan was
that it's not just it's it's kind of scary, but
really that's just part of it because a lot of
(05:54):
it had to do with music.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Music. Listen to this.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
There are legends of people born with the gift of
making music.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
So true it can piece the male between a lot
and death. And the music is conjuring sirens from the
past time that's so good and it's like, damn the
future that like that's what I love.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
It's like if there's something scary in there, that's cool,
but I'd like, you know, something else to pay attention to.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Be working in the kitchen or something, and then you
hear that music. Man, oh my god, it's on the day.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Watch if you ever like, I know this movie isn't
for you, but there's this. I wish you could see
that because that scene right there, those have seen It's
just so cool what they do with the music. But
that's that's what I gravitate towards. Well.
