Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday nighty nine point one Dana with producer Anthony on
a feel good Friday. We've got Houston's best variety, the eighties,
nineties and today and the three things you need to
know to get your Friday. October seventh, seventeenth started well.
Rodeo performers. We know that we are going to have
Cody Johnson perform the final concert at Rodeo twenty twenty six.

(00:23):
It's going to happen March twenty second. We're also learning
that he's going to have some friends joining him. John
Party Randy Hauser have just been announced. Cody's been out sick.
He's had a sinus infection, had to cancel his tour.
He'll be good to go. He's going to be totally
cured by the time the Rodeo rolls around, and when
we do get the full lineup, we will let you
know that for sure. This is really good. It was

(00:44):
kind of depressing when the Hotel Derek just abruptly shut
in the Galleria last year. Well, it's under construction. It
is going to be welcome to town the Greenlee with
a signature restaurant De Luna. It's going to be opened
in the spring of twenty twenty and Wings Over Houston
returns this weekend, but it's gonna be a little different
this go around. The sky's over Ellington Airport will not

(01:07):
have the US Air Force Thunderbirds because they've been signed
sidelined by the government shutdown day seventeenth. So to compensate,
Wings Over Houston is gonna give any ticket purchase they're
gonna get a free general admission ticket to the twenty
twenty six show, and by then the government should be open.
Don't you think you're cross? You go to Wingsoverhuston dot

(01:31):
com for all the details and your weather today. I'm
telling you, I'm looking out the windows here in the galleria.
Those clouds look like they are filled with some rain.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
We'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
We're still waiting for them to drop something, but we
do have a fifty percent chance of rain this morning,
tapering off this afternoon, going up to eighty six. Right now,
it's seventy in uptown and you're up to date on
sunny Tell me something good brought to us by our
friends at Goodwill Houston. Well days after a couple we're
seen on surveillance video stealing pumpkins from a church I

(02:04):
mean really honestly, Yeah. Was First Christian Church and Katie.
The pumpkins were being sold to raise money for community
projects that the church was involved with, and Reverend Heather
Tollison got the most unexpected surprise. A few days after
the pumpkins were stolen, the pumpkins were back. What Yep.
The couple that stole them showed up in person, confronted her,

(02:29):
asked her for forgiveness, and then made a donation. She
was like, oh my gosh. And the second blessing that
came out of that. All the publicity they got when
the pumpkins were stolen brought in even more donations. Heather says,
it's proof, Yes, we can call each other to account,
but we can still love each other throughout the press.

(02:50):
I love that. Isn't that incredible?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Producer Anthony Dan This is exciting and how timely is
I'm headed to the Alamo City this weekend. There's a
San Antonio based coffee brand finally making its way the Age.
It's their Merit Coffee cod They've confirmed it location over
in the Heights. Also another one at West Park and
Buffalo Speedway. They import their coffee from across the world.
They roast them in San Antonio and feature plenty of
specialty coffees like a frozen cold brew and cereal milk

(03:14):
cold Brew which includes Fruity pebbles infused oat milk and
a crushed fruity pebbles toper Wow, and also a large
selection of teas which includes an ice strawberry Macha Dang.
So I'm headed to San any Tonio this weekend to
visit family. I'm tracking some of this down tomorrow because
this sounds amazing. We can look forward to them coming
to Houston opening early twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Bring me back some I would love to do. You
bet that sounds a great lovey Oh that Macha strawberry
matcha right, yes, amaze. And I have been honored as
Anthony has to to speak at many school career days,
but this one is going to be so fun for
me anyway. It's the career day using vehicles. We get

(03:55):
to share our careers as the kids are touring area.
It is hilarious. I love it. It's going to be
at Parkwood Elementary School and Anna is the counselor. She
asked me about it, and when I saw the flyer,
I was like, oh, my gosh, I'm in. But here's
the problem. I drive my vehicle a lot, like yeah,
from the country to the gallery every day. It's I

(04:16):
got it in December. It's got over thirty thousand miles
already in that shrine.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
I know.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
But here's the other thing. My sons are all in
real estate and warehouses, and so they renovate live to
work warehouse space. I stage them. So the back of
my truck is filled with so much jump everything that
I'm thinking, Hm, should I really include that in the tour.
I don't know. I mean, it's real life, real life
for sure. Anyway. Parkwood Elementary School in Pasadena, great job.

(04:45):
Can't wait to come out and see you guys next
month and for our feel good stories each weekday mornings
set a preset on the new and improved iHeartRadio app
to Sunny Natty nine point one, Sunday Naty nine point one,
Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties, and Today I'm
Dana with producer Anthony. It is now sevent ten on
our Feel Good Friday. Anthony. Yes, anything that happened to

(05:07):
you this week that just you know, it doesn't need
to be big, just something that someone did that. You're
just like, that was so nice, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
It was actually me doing it for my brother. I
surprised him, letting him know I'm coming to visit him
this weekend. I called him yesterday and let him know.
He was like, what all the San Antonio visit? Yeah,
I mentioned it to you. We're celebrating my dad's birthday. Actually,
so his birthday. My cousin's also in from Ohio. She's
staying with my dad as well. She just celebrated a
birthday this week, so we're going to be having hers.

(05:35):
We didn't celebrate my sister, so it's going to be
a bit. We haven't all gotten together since, like I
think June.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Maybe that's so.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yeah, this has been it's a couple of months in
the making, and so it's it's a joint celebration and
just getting everybody together.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
We cannot wait. We're so excited.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I brought my guitar so we can get some music
going in the back and maybe some cornholes, but it's
we're so excited.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
All right. I'm big on the food in the Bible.
There's the Martha and the Mary. You know, Mary sits
at Jesus' feet I'm the mark in the kitchen preparing everything. Yeah,
so I'm trying to do it with joy. I'm trying
not to get jealous of Mary. But tell me what
kind of food? How do you guys do the food
thing when you've got a family reunion, because we do
family reunions a lot.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah, Usually it depends on how many people are there.
My dad and he's like that guy that insists on
cooking a lot, honestly because he enjoys the grill. And
usually if we have a big group, I guess is
we're either gonna whip up. He does amazing fahidas or
rib The other thing he does really well is ribs.
Honestly too, Now I could see him busting that out.
Either of those is a home run. I'm down with

(06:35):
any of those family reunions.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
I mean, they're tricky, they're prickly, but as long as
there's good food, they're all good. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
And I think for us too, we don't get together
often enough, so like we just keep it all fun
so it doesn't get too serious.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I know what you're talking about. You you know my family. Anyway,
we would love to hear about you your family and
maybe something good happened to you this week on our

(07:09):
Friday and we're talking feel Good Friday stories. Share it
with us. You never know it might prompt someone to
do something kind for someone else. You've got, Jennifer. You
now you work at a dentist's office in Tumble and
you've got a feel good story Jennifer about a patient.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Patient came on Monday, came to us if she said, Jennifer,
I'm so scared and afraid of dentists that I don't know,
you know, I just want the doctor to see me
and do consultation before you guys just start doing any
exam and X race or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Right.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
And then I said, Okay, don't worry. I said, come
in and we're gonna go ahead and just introduce you
to the doctor the dental assistance and then they can
talk to you and then if you if you feel comfortable,
then you stay. If not, you're not off delegated to
stay it in the office. So then she said, okay,
she goes in and then we started talking to doctor.

(08:07):
She was so happy whenever she came out because she said, Jennifer,
the way that doctor Adri explained the treatment plan and
the way she the dentist start tooking in the exams
and the x rays, nobody has given me all that
information before. And she was very amazed. And she said,

(08:31):
you know what, We're gonna go ahead and just stayed
in your office and also do the treatment here. I
feel good that I gave her confidence to stay there.
She trusted us.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
That is so great. That is a great gives me goosebumps.
I hear that you are definitely fulfilling your calling helping
people fix their teeth and keeping them calm because it
can be very distressing.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
It is, and you know, it is the culture that
we keep in our office. We care for every patient
that comes and it's just we want to treat them
with love and respect and make sure that they go
home without any paint.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
That's all. Jennifer, keep up the great work. I love
that feel good Friday story.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Thank you, Dana. You have a wonderful weekend. That bloke
