(00:24):
And I have with me somebody that many people know
the name, and I am so glad that he is
a part of Beaumont, Texas and Southeast Texas. Leslie Doggett,
Welcome to the show today.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Well, thank you, miss Roy, appreciate I'm glad to be here.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Well, you have come in to Southeast Texas. I know
you're out of the Houston area and you but you're
new to doing business in such a large way. You've
actually been here quite some time because you have car
dealerships here. You have the forward. If I start listening,
I'm gonna miss some of them. But how many dealership
car dealerships do you have here?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
We have? Uh ten?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
See I would have skipped. And you also have heavy
equipment I know as well here in in Southeast Texas.
So you employ a lot of people here, A lot
of people do business with you and uh you know you,
uh you came into the area in terms of the
auto side. Just in the last couple of years, I
guess it's been right and you've but you've gotten really
(01:29):
involved in the community. You and your staff are all
about giving back. So uh so I would just love
to hear a little bit about where you started from,
because I know a little bit of the story. But uh,
it's a it's a huge success story story, and it's
about how hard work pays off and how you continue
(01:51):
to give back to your community.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Well, uh sure if it started with seems like h
only a work while ago, but you know, uh, these
years ago by really really fast. So in uh uh
before I started my own business, I worked for an
oil and gas firm in Houston. I was born and
raised in Houston and often coming to Beaumont and really
(02:18):
have some dear dear friends that I grew up with,
went to school with or from Beaumont, and uh uh
so I started my career in the in the oil
and gas business in a in UH refinery and in
UH in oil and gas platforms, operation and maintenance of
all that, and UH did that for years until nineteen
(02:42):
ninety three.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Was able to. I had had a friend that.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Had all the money and I didn't have any money,
and uh heh, but I had the operation experience. So
so we were able to acquire the Toyota material Handling
in ninety three, which included Beaumont in Houston, and so
those are that's basically forklifts in most everything to do
(03:06):
with warehouses. And so we acquired that ninety three and
had some great success, was able to grow that pretty dramatically,
and so Toyota brought more deals to us, and so
we ended up buying most of the southern half of
Texas for Toyota Industrial, but Beaumont always a very important
part of that. And then later on I had the
(03:30):
Case construction equipment stores that included Beaumont in Houston.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
But then I don't know if your.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Listeners all remember this, but Case sold out was owned
by Tennaco and then sold out to Fiat, and then
we weren't really happy with that situation, so we sold
those case stores and became John Deere Dealer. And so
in ninety five or in two thousand and five, bought
(03:56):
the John Deere Dealer, which for South Texas and then
grew that into all of Louisiana and East Texas, including
Beaumont in Houston, and so ninety three was our first
time to be in Beaumont business wise, and then in
two thousand, you know, in the early two thousands, became
(04:20):
the John Deere dealer there. So we've been there and
we really love and have learned to learn to grow
our businesses there in Beaumont and really love love the
environment and so and pretty late in our in my career,
we got into the automobile business. Sort of serendipitously, there
(04:45):
was a dealer next door to us owned by a
big public company and they wanted to sell it. So
we love that deal so we bought that and really
had great success with Ford.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
In twenty nineteen, we bought them in the In the.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
First year we we were awarded as the fastest growing
dealer in the nation for Ford. Okay, that was pretty exciting,
and also we got their President's Award, which is is
really based on customer experience and satisfaction. And what we're
able to do is take our John Deere experience that
(05:18):
we give our customers and translate that into auto business
and uh and basically what you're doing is you're treating
folks like like, uh, there your cousins or your neighbor,
and no high pressure. You just need to be the
guy with the answers and that knows knows what what's
(05:38):
going to fit with, they what they're looking for. And
when there's problems, you need to engage problems and tackle
them and get all over them and be a problem fixer.
And that's that's that's what we do, and we think
that's why we won the President's Award four years in
a row. And then Ford came to us and said, hey,
we want you to buy some more. Ford Store said,
(06:00):
we like what's going on there, and so they brought
us the Kncel bill and said please, we'd love to
have you come over to Beaumont and he said, you know.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
We love the Kencels there a long time.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Uh, but the current Kencels really don't don't operate the stores.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
They had general managers in there.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
And so we were able to buy that Ford, Toyota,
Lincoln and Masda store there and uh a lot of
people think, you know, there's two stores, but actually you
got the Masda and the Lincoln store, right, and uh,
so we've been we we put all that same good
stuff in there, we think, and uh, uh sales have
(06:40):
almost doubled. I mean the number of new cards we
sell is almost doubled. The used cards if tripled in there,
just using that philosophy I just talked a little bit about.
And so from that then uh then uh, we had
some other car dealers brands, Group one, uh was selling
their sixth to the Mike Smith stores. Right and you
(07:02):
know I grew up though Mike Smith, so I knew
those stores really well. And uh and we like it that,
you know, the big, big multi you know, uh, the
big auto stores that have dealerships all over the country.
The public guys, they're not so excited about mid size markets,
but we love, we love mid size markets.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Those are great.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
So that that's why they were really selling those Group
one stores because they.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Were they they weren't big enough for them. Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Well for us, they're great size. We love them. So
we were able to do that deal, which you know,
we're six more stores, which made a total of ten.
So there were.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Well, well, I tell you, I know from my from
my position, you know, not being in heavy equipment, I
wasn't as familiar with the John Deere or the Toyota
that you sold here. But certainly, uh, I know most
people drive cars, and Southeast Texas and Beaumont cars are
the most common transportation. And y'all are very visible, and
(08:06):
I know a lot of people of already are do
transactions with you. And you also when you came in,
I know, you partnered with the school district and the
county in terms of some naming rights. Uh the Doggett
Family stadiums over at B I s D and uh
dogg At park out at UH out with.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah, yeah, that might be sort of an interesting store.
So when you know, you drive in from Houston, you
see those two facilities everything, I mean, they're just they're
they're front center, so you see them, and I thought,
I said, you know, we really I'd love to be
more entrenched and invest more into Beaumont in the community.
(08:48):
And so our guys called and I thought, you know,
uh and talked to both the montgomer count the Jefferson
County uh uh facilities and B I s D you
know in the event center, and uh we found out
that they both were going out for naming rights and participation,
(09:08):
you know, to help with the signage and the facilities
and along with that came the names, and so I said,
well we'll.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Build, let's bid on both of them.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Certainly we won't get both of them and uh, because
we can't bid all that much for it, a right,
And so my guys bid on both in low and
behold we got we got both deals. You know, I
sort of thought we could get one or the other,
but not both.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Well, we're we're we're grateful for it. But it also
shows your heart and your company's heart in terms of
giving back to communities. Because that that you know is
uh a financial help to UH to the school district
and you know, which certainly educates our children here. And
I've seen you as mayor and being about town. Uh
(09:54):
dog it participates in in all events and looks to
give back and being a good neighbor, which appears to
be your philosophy of what you're talking about how you
deal with your customers is you just want to continue
to earn their business and know that you're a trusted partner.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, we really want to get more and more involved,
and we're happy to. You know, my team came and said, hey,
let's choose one or the other. I said, no, man,
if they need somebody, let's let's do both of those
rights with b I S D in the in the county.
And so we did all that in addition to that,
you know, we're really we're a big sponsor of the
Astros and so we got Jim Crane to come over
(10:34):
there to Beaumont, and uh, he's pretty exciting about trying
to help us with the Little League in town. And
so we have some initiatives that we're pushing forward on
that on on that front, and then we have, uh
this summer, we're going to have an all Round Athlete
Award out at the Dog at Forward Center that we're
really excited. So we're going to figure out who the
(10:55):
best athletes are in Beaumont and give them a big, big,
big prize for winning that stuff, make a big deal
out of it. And then we have a photo contest
that we're doing that we're going to do out throughout
the the id and encourage kids to participate in that
and have a few other contests we're really excited about
(11:16):
and getting involved deeply with the city itself.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Well, we're about out of time, but I want to
We're gonna have to get you or one of your
representatives to come on to let people know about the
contests that are coming up to make sure we get
the word out because we want to make sure people participate.
And again, it's a pleasure I get to visit with
you from time to time, and I'm grateful for your
commitment to community and to family and too making places
(11:43):
better that you do business in. And I've seen firsthand
that you do that. So thank you so much for
taking the time to come on the radio show today,
and I look forward to having you on in the future.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Well all right, mister Roy all right, I really appreciate

so but I'm gonna let you share it, okay.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
The company is the Crystal Peatrie Consulting Company, and under
that umbrella, what we're doing is we are partnering with
people to be strategic partners and help them to grow
in different areas of their business. I have grant writing
and grant research and that can be done for for
profit organizations, nonprofit organizations as well as entrepreneurships as well.
(13:26):
We also have event planning and we are a one
stop event planning service. So if you need decorating, if
you need audio, if you need video, if you need photography,
if you need catering, even venue placement, we can do
all of that for you.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
So I'm very excited about the consulting company.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
And the podcast is the Crystal Petrie Podcast. You can
find that on YouTube podcasts as well as Apple podcasts.
And that podcast is me sitting down with different people
and I'm just learning.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Roy It's something that I'd love to do.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
I am just learning all about different aspects of people's jobs,
their passions, their careers, their families, and how it can
make me and my audience a better person in life,
in relationships, and even at work.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Well.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
And I know that you have always been a forward
thinker and one of the many things that I admire
about you. And like you said, this gives an opportunity
to learn, but also let your audience learn at the
same time. Tell people the type of guests that you
have had.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Well, the type of guests I had have are so diverse, Roy,
I've had judges on there. I have had share of
deputies on there. I have had lawyers on there. I
have had marriage counselors on there for anyone who is
married or maybe EI they're thinking about being married. I've
(15:05):
had professors on their teachers on their speech language pathologists
on there. So my guest list is very diverse, very inclusive.
But the one thing that every guest that comes on
my podcast, and I've interviewed over one hundred people, Roy Wow,
and every guest that I've had on that podcast, the
(15:27):
one thing that they all have in common is they
are there to educate. They are there to educate me,
and they are there to educate my audience. And people
can come to a one stop shop on my YouTube
and get information and get education from all.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Sorts of people.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
And it's just very exciting AND's something that I'm very
intentional about building well.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
And information's power, and in today's world, getting good information
could sometimes be a little challenging because there's a lot
of different narratives out there and so and this is
just hearing from their perspectives. There may be other perspectives,
but it is hearing from a professional that that's what
(16:13):
they engage in and from their experience, which certainly can
be informative. And also when in terms of realistically setting
people's expectations.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Absolutely that is you said that so eloquently. The guests
that I have on my podcast, they are all experts
in their field, They are educated in those fields, they
are experienced in those fields.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
And yes, they are giving.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Their lived and perceived perspectives on each one of those topics.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
And you know, it's.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Something that I always kind of give a disclaimer that
this is their lived experiences. Of course, go out and
research the information for yourself, speak with your doctors for yourself,
depending on what the topic is. But my guests are
educated in the topics that they are talking about. They
(17:12):
are experienced in these topics, they work in these topics.
So for the best of my ability and theirs as well,
they are considered experts in those topics. And you can
find my podcast You can also find my services on
my website.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
If I'm at.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Liberty to give that Roy, sure, yes, My website is C. A. Petree,
c A p As and Paul E. T.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
S and Tom R. Y LLC dot com.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
And on that website you can get my podcasts and
you can also get the grant writing grant researching services
as well as the event planning services as well well.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
And I'm on it right now as we're talking here online.
And all of these are you know, fit your personality,
I know your background, and you know you've got skills
and all these and let's talk a minute about grant writing.
I mean, we've got about four minutes left here. But
you know a lot of people start five o' one
c threes or have businesses or entities, and grant writing
(18:20):
is a skill like any other skills. Sometimes people think, well,
I'm going to go get a grant for this, but
they may not even know where to look for the grant.
And then in terms of how important it is to
providing the information as requested for and setting up expectations
on how you're going to meet the continued guidelines on
receiving the grant.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Absolutely everything you said is absolutely true, Roy, and grant
writing and grant research is something that I'm very passionate about.
It's something that I love. I've been doing it over
fifteen years now. I have secured double millions and millions
of dollars for a nonprofit organizations as well as for
(19:03):
profit organizations. And I really want to stress that because
a lot of people when they think of grant funding,
they only think of nonprofit. But grant funding is for nonprofit, yes,
but you can also receive grant funding for for profit
organizations as well. And researching and looking for grants is
a skill in itself. Applying for the grant, you're really
(19:27):
writing a story. You're really selling yourself and selling your
company to a funder who wants to give you the money.
The thing is you have to entice them to do it.
And it's something that the Crystal feature consulting company, something
that we have been doing over fifteen years and something
(19:48):
that we do very well.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Well and being able to reach those goals is it
matters how you do that. And then with your event planning,
that pretty much speaks for itself. Whatever event you can
help people with all the different facets of it, you
can stop shop.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
It is a one stop shop.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
And we are looking for and we are open to
new clients for the grant research and the grant writing.
We are also looking for an open to new clients
for the event planning as well. Event planning is something
that I absolutely love. It allows me to kind of
flex my creative juices. But anyone that's put on anything
(20:34):
from a birthday party to a fundraising event knows that
event planning can be very stressful. And with the Crystal
Picture Consulting Company, we are here to take the stress
from you. We are here to allow you more time
to focus on other aspects of what it is that
you are trying to do, and we do everything for you.
(20:58):
We sit down with you, we get all of the information,
what you would like, your vision, your mission, the end
goal for your event, and we come together and create
that for you.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
And we are excited to do that.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Well, we got just under a minute left, so remind
people how they can get in touch with you and

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Crystal is always It was great talking to you and
I wish you a very very Christmas.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Thank you so much, and happy Holidays to you, Roy
and to your audience.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
You're listening to the Roy West Show here on News
Talk five sixty k LV. Folks. We always have the
best guest and today certainly no exception to that. Dana Simmons.
And everybody knows Dana's name. Dana Simmons real estate team
here in Southeast Texas been around for a few years
(22:35):
now and just a few and certainly been having a
huge impact whether people are buying our selling houses. So
welcome back to the show.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
Great, thank you, Roy. It's a pleasure to be here.
It's been a little wall since I've been on your show,
but I'm excited to do it again.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
And you have your own show now too. So but
we're both on kl v I.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
And absolutely we know about states.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
It is. It sure is. But for people that are
listening out there, oftentimes real estate and you know, we're
just through an election season, we're at the end of
twenty twenty four, twenty twenty five is right around the corner.
And the one thing that's consistent is people always need
a place to live. That's right, and when you're renting
(23:20):
that money's not doing anything for you. So buying real
estate is a big decision, but an important decision, and
certainly it's significant in building wealth in your own life.
So and you help people whether they're buying or selling
houses and through various transitions when it comes to health.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
That's exactly right. We do it all from if you're
buying your first time home, if you are moving up,
or if you're considering investing in real estate. You know,
we have done all of that here and if you're selling,
we are also working throughout all South East Texas to.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Help people do just that well. And I've found from
my own experience, I know, sometimes it's just when people
decide if they're thinking about selling a home or thinking
about buying a home, thinking about buying their first house,
you know, there can it can cause some anxiety because
(24:21):
they're not sure if now's the time, what the process
is going to look like, and you know, and they
need to go to a trusted source. And that's what
you've been proving for many years now that you are yeah,
that's right, and that you are that source. And oftentimes
(24:42):
it is just answering questions, you know, because it may
or may not be the time for somebody, but asking
those questions begins that journey and helps people know how
to be ready for the next steps.
Speaker 6 (24:55):
Yeah, absolutely, Rory. We think that our job is to
guide someone through the process, and may be to guide
you to say, Okay, we're going to hold for a
few months or you know, six eight a year. We
with every single client do what we call a buyer consultation,
So prior to showing a buyer homes, we make an
(25:16):
appointment to sit in the office. We want to talk
about what are your goals as a buyer, what are
you wanting to achieve? And then we want to help
to say, okay, here are some ways that you can
do that. So many times it's they can't achieve the
goal they want right now, so we come up with
a plank. If that's what you want to do, let's
(25:36):
talk about what are the steps we need to take
to get you to that point. And we think that
is a huge part of what we do, educating, guiding,
helping answer those questions that most buyers don't know until
they sit in front of us and we start asking
those questions.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Well, as that's a good point because most people don't buy.
You know, over the course of a life, some people
may buy six or seven homes, but some people may
buy one or two, and from one from a few years,
things can change significantly in the industry, and helping to
navigate people through this and setting realistic expectations is so
(26:18):
important because sometimes you know, as with all of us,
we don't know what we don't know. So by asking
these questions and setting realistic expectations, it can help people
make those decisions and help get prepared if because the
one thing about it, time does keep passing?
Speaker 6 (26:38):
It does it?
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Does?
Speaker 5 (26:39):
You know?
Speaker 6 (26:40):
And people say when's the best time to buy real
estate two years ago, three years ago, five years ago.
Really it's always a good time to buy real estate
because it's an investment that's going to grow year after
year for most of us, even for me, you know,
I had considered buying in the Hill Country at one time,
thinking oh, I'm going to do that when things get
(27:02):
a little better. What has happened, you know, even in Beaumont, Texas,
we're the same way. I'm astonished at where our prices
were thirty years ago when I started, till today our
market continues to go up. So real estate is not
only a great place to you know, find a home,
but it's also what you said, it's a great place
(27:23):
to build wealth and to be able to have a
wonderful investment, investing in yourself and not just in someone
else's equity that you're building by renting.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Well and at and I think also with life happening
and certainly the crazy world that we live in with COVID,
I mean, your home is an important place and where
we spend times, where we make memories, you know, if
you get married, if you have kids or grandkids. I
(27:54):
mean a lot of events happening happen in homes and
whether they whether you have those experience is or not.
Time is going to pass. And if you're renting, all
you're doing is giving somebody else money. But if you are,
if you purchase real estate, it as an investment in
your future or your family's future. So give people an
(28:14):
idea of you know, because sometimes I know from the
lending side, people don't even know the questions to be asked,
and you know, it can be as simple as what
are you looking for in a home, and sometimes they
can't identify quickly what it is that they are looking for.
(28:37):
And it comes with that experience that you can help
show what sounds like you might be looking for this.
Speaker 6 (28:44):
Yeah, So for us, it's about asking the right questions
so that we can pull out from them. They have
something in their mind, they may not be able to
verbalize it except for to say, oh, we want a
three bedroom, two bath house. We know there are way
too many three bedroom two back houses out there that
are not going to meet what they're thinking in their mind.
(29:05):
So our job is to ask the right questions to
show them properties on the screen and say, Okay, tell
me what you like about this, tell me what you
don't like about that, And so we begin to build
build out in our mind what they already have in
their minds. So I think that's critical is that conversation
that we have with them. It's not just the data,
(29:25):
it's the conversation about lifestyle and what are you wanting
to do in that home?
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Well, and I know that I've learned through through my experiences.
Oftentimes things that are very important to people they can't
begin to articulate until they start thinking about it and
you ask those questions. Because sometimes people want to be
in certain parts of town, or their kids to go
to certain schools, or you know, a utility room that's
(29:53):
not in the garage, you know. I mean, it can
be funny things, but it's like, oh no, that's that's
a big deal to me and you. Oftentimes, if you
have that information, you can meet people where they are
and narrow their search to help them find what they're
looking for. And the same when it comes to selling.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
Yeah, I feel like my gift is problem solving. Really,
it's not just selling real estate. It's okay, what is
it we need to find for you and what are
the problems that we need to solve in that so
whenever we're having a challenge or an issue to be
able to come up with different scenarios that may give
them options on what they can do instead of sticking
everyone in the same box. It's like, okay, let's think
(30:34):
about things outside the box on how we can solve
some of these issues in a way that it works
for you. Whether you're buying or you're selling, how can
we make that work well?
Speaker 1 (30:45):
And whenever people are buying or selling, it is a
stressful time there. It is a transitional time in life.
And so you know, having the experience of helping so
many people as you and your team have that helps
you kind of see where oftentimes land minds are to
(31:06):
keep people from experiencing those roy That.
Speaker 6 (31:09):
Is exactly right. One of the things that we have
is experience and helping to navigate through those challenges that
they may not have even thought of. There are so
many things that could be a landmine that we want
to talk about ahead of time. Just today, I was
on the phone with someone explaining they're receiving an offer
and so talking about some of the challenging things, and
he was.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
Like, I never even thought about that.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
I said, well, that's my job. It's not your job
to think about and it's my job to be through
all of those different things so that when we get
to the end, it's a smooth closing for you. That's
the goal.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Well, thank you. We are about thirty seconds out. I
would love for you to share how people can get
in touch with you and your team.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
Sure four O nine eight sixty six team which is
four O nine eight six six eight three two six
or Danasimmon's real estate dot com or DSR dot com.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
And folks, whether you're looking to buy our sell real estate,
give them a call or find them on the website.
You can get their information and certainly all over social
media as well. Thank you so much, and Merry Christmas.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
Merry Christmas, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
We are back with the Roy West Show here on
News Talk five sixty k LV. And remember, folks, you
can always go to the free iHeartRadio app or Apple podcast,
Android podcasts, Spotify and catch this show or any of
our shows in their entirety. And I have with me
chastity with the Recovery Council of Southeast Texas. Welcome to
(32:40):
the show.
Speaker 7 (32:40):
Thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Well, it's a pleasure, and if you would, we got
to visit not too long ago, and I said I
needed to have you on the radio show. And here
you are. But tell people about what the Recovery Council
of Southeast Texas does and where the services are available.
Speaker 7 (32:58):
Okay, perfect, and again thank you for having us. It
is such a pleasure to be here. So first and foremost,
I am the public relations coordinator for a covery council,
and my passion comes from helping those that are in
the darkness of substance use disorder. So what we do
is we've been here since nineteen fifty eight, so we've
(33:19):
been here a little over sixty five years. And we
are located on Washington at forty six seventy five Washington
Boulevard right here in Beaumont, and we offer treatment for
those struggling, like I said, with substance of use disorder.
We are able to serve youth, women, men, and we
(33:39):
have a few different services kind of just for everyone really.
So we have our residential which is Unity Treatment Center
that is a forty all male, twenty four to seven,
three hundred and sixty five day a year treatment facility
that is intensive residential. While they're in the residential, we
have RSA which kind of bridges the gap between in
(34:02):
patient and outpatient. We have Right Choice Beaumont and Orange
and that helps women, men, youth, those involved with CPS.
We do assess with drug testing, counseling, group therapy, and
we have a new facility opening an Orange pretty soon,
so I can't wait to make that announcement. And we
(34:24):
also have a new program which is Learning to Thrive
and that is more focused towards children and young adults,
and that is an activity based program. So we have
a little bit of something for everything. But we want
to kind of shed light in the darkness that is addiction.
I mean, I'm so sorry, that is a substance abuse disorder.
(34:46):
We want to be that light because there is darkness
and there is stigma. But we want everyone to know,
you know, it does not discriminate. It is in our
front yard at this point instead of our backyard. So
we want to let you guys know that we want
to be your first choice and not our last resort
when it comes to recovery. So if what starts on
as casual turns into a problem, we're here for that.
(35:10):
And we want unificate reunification. We want everyone to live
their very best life that they can, and so that's
what we do here.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Well, and helping people navigate through that is you know,
you've got experts and also there is pure support because
this is something that you know, it is a challenge
across our country, and as you said, it affects people
of every walk of life. And sometimes, you know, how
(35:44):
it happens can be through just a routine surgical procedure
or an injury and then all of a sudden, you know,
and I would suspect most of the time it is
somewhat gradual, people don't. It kind of sneaks up on
them and then it's like what to do. And then
sometimes people find themselves in those circumstances, may not have
(36:04):
the financial resources to go through, you know, they don't
know where to go. So what you're saying is y'all
can be a starting place for people.
Speaker 7 (36:15):
We can be the beginning and the end. So the
best part is that we are able to help those
that have no insurance, those that have private insurance, those
that are limited income. We have a sliding skill as
well for those clients, so there is no recovery that's
out of reach for us. We are able to serve
everyone for every income level. We have those that are
(36:39):
unhoused to those that are CEOs of huge companies, and
you're able to really get their lives back or give
them a fresh start, a brand new life, because there
are many many clients that have come in that you know,
come from very very little and they've gone on to
be super successful. And we like to meet everyone where
they're at. We are non We love everyone. As soon
(37:02):
as they come in those doors, they are loved, they're
they're cared for, and it is such an honor to
be able to see the process for them well.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
And I noticed y'all are also a United Way agency,
which I guess helps with because being a not for
profit and providing services at reduced costs, no costs for
those that aren't able to afford. You've got to you've
got to have a resource in there. But also it
gives you an idea and it gives the listeners an
(37:32):
idea that y'all are also vetted. I mean, y'all have
a great website Recovery Counsel sep X dot org. But uh,
you know, because people need to give where they live,
they need to support what matters locally. And I'm not
dismissing the rest of the world, but you've got to
take care of what's here and people that are going
(37:53):
through challenges and help get the word out.
Speaker 7 (37:57):
Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
So. We've got just about two minutes left, So explain
to people what they would expect if you've got a
family member or at yourself. And I realized that these
will be individual decisions. But say they give you a call,
sometimes they can just be nervous, probably about making a
phone call.
Speaker 7 (38:17):
It is, it's very much so. Before I started the
money position, I actually worked in the residential treatment facility
across the parking lot for two and a half years
and I was on night shift, so I was getting
those terrified to call it eight am, calls throughout the night.
And so we do have our twenty four hour number.
You can call Unity Treatment Center that numbers on our website.
Speaker 5 (38:40):
It's on Google.
Speaker 7 (38:41):
I can give it to you guys. Now, okay, perfect,
So it is going to be four nine eight four
zero nine three five zero, and so we have such
an easy process. It truly is we make everything as
user friendly as we can. What you're going to do
is just give us a call, let us know how
(39:02):
I'm struggling and I would like some information. So the
number that I gave you is our twenty four hour
Unity Treatment Center. We are here Monday through Friday, eight
to four, and that number is super easy four oh
nine eight four zero two thousand and one, and you
can just let us know a little bit of what's
going on and we will be able to help you
(39:25):
overcome or whatever it is, whether it's a financial difficulty,
if you are a mail and you can't stay for
residential we have outpatient options as well that are also intensive.
So there is truly something for everyone that is absolutely
seeking recovery well.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
And on your website at Recovery Council set x dot org,
you've got about the programs, you've got frequently asked questions,
and certainly all the contact information as well. And you know,
this is something that I think everybody recognizes that there's
a great need for. And it can be within with
(40:02):
family members, or it can be with loved ones or yourself.
And be sure to use the resources and uh and
get the help that you may need. And thank you
so much, Chassaity, and I want to wish you a
merry Christmas.
Speaker 7 (40:15):
Thank you so much. Mister West. Do you have a
wonderful holiday season.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
Thank you, thank you.
