We also assist retirees with their medical insurance aution's estate

talking about the legalities of the administration's immigration policy with

(01:56):
a legal expert, Assistant District Attorney Luke Nichol, who's making
his first guest appearance on our show.

Speaker 7 (02:03):
Bus. You know who it is.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
It's the great gene Vallerini. He's right here with the
week's dirty little secret. Also, you want to talk to money,
we'll discuss that too on this week's solution segment, where
you can find out how to protect your bottom line.
But first, our top line story. Actually, we've got two
stories competing for the headline of this episode, with the

(02:26):
pause and the China trade war and Trump's executive order
on pharmaceuticals. Either one would dominate a ordinary news cycle,
which is not ordinary, So I'll just arbitrarily decide talk
about the trade deal first, all.

Speaker 8 (02:40):
Right, Master negotiated. Trump knows when to pause and when
to attack, and that's the subject of the road. Stock
markets roared on the news of lower tariffs between the
US and China, along with the ninety day pause. The
major indexes now above their November fifth election day levels,
and they're also higher than the April second Liberation day level.

(03:04):
Seems like tariff's down, stocks up. It's a new paradigm.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
So Larry Kudload likes it. It must be good news, right,
the market shirt it. After the deal was announced on Sunday,
the market rebounded four digits on the first trading day
of the week. So what's in the deal? Trade Rep.

Speaker 7 (03:22):
Jamison Greer explains.

Speaker 9 (03:24):
Come to agreement that that our civical tariff rate will
go down to a tent We'll go down to ten
percent on the United States side, so it goes down
one hundred and fifteen percent. We enter into a ninety
day pause period for negotiations, which both the Chinese United
States are very committed to, and the Chinese on their
side also go down one hundred and fifteen percent to
ten percent, and they remove the countermeasures that they have

(03:47):
in place.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
Okay, let's see here carry the one, mister Greer, can
you make that a little simpler please?

Speaker 9 (03:58):
What matters for the agreement today is we each agreed
to come down on the reciprocal tariff and later retaliation
to ten percent. So reduction of one hundred and fifteen
percent down to ten percent, Sentinel is on its own track,
but on a very positive track where we're having a
very constructive conversations without Chinese counterparts.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
See, this is why we shouldn't let nerds do press conferences. Okay,
what he's basically saying is that to China and China
and the United States that each reduced their terrifts down
to ten percent. That's simple enough, right, Only the US
still has an additional twenty percent penalty on China still
because of the fedomal issue, and we're keeping that in
place until that all gets worked out. So it's United

(04:41):
States thirty, China ten, just like we played when the
World Baseball Classic.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
Thanks James.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
So it sounds like everyone is thrilled about this news,
even to Democrats. I mean, we've been told for weeks
now that the Orange Man was going to destroy our
economy with World War tariff. This is great for America,
isn't it, Senator Schumer.

Speaker 10 (05:03):
Early this morning, it was reported that Donald Trump caved
to Shijingping and the Chinese Communist Party with virtually nothing
to show for American workers. Donald Trump has changed his
mind once again on his tariffs, with a new deal
with China to pause most tariffs for ninety days. Sadly,

(05:25):
it looks like China has once again gotten the better
of Donald Trump. They've hardly had to give up a thing.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
Huh wait, So the Democrats narrative is that Trump caved
to China. I mean, wasn't their entire argument that these
terrorists needed to go away?

Speaker 7 (05:43):
I don't get it.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
This was Chuck Schumer just six weeks ago on April fourth.

Speaker 11 (05:49):
This week, Donald Trump made one of the dumbest decisions
he's ever made his president, and that is saying a
whole lot. Instead of fixing inflation, which he promised to do,
Donald Trump unleashed a wave of tariffs that will make
inflation much much worse. It is estimated the average American
family will pay five thousand dollars more a year because

(06:14):
of these tariffs.

Speaker 7 (06:16):
Okay, let me get this straight.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Last month, you didn't want these terrorists because they would
add to inflation. Inflation, which, by the way, that your
policy's caused under the Biden administration. But now that Trump
is negotiating the Chinese terrorists down to a new four
he's caving to the Chinese. The word caving, that's the
buzzword that's been popping up, literally in almost every Democrat

(06:41):
script this week. But how is negotiating caving? I know,
let's go to Guttfeld and Tyres for the answer.

Speaker 7 (06:49):
Did you catch the five today at all?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
I don't want so.

Speaker 12 (06:52):
Harold, you know, he's smart, knows that was saying, like,
you know, we yeah, of course, you know that stock
gets back up because we know we cave to China.
Why do they look at Why does Harold and his
minions look at negotiation as a cave.

Speaker 8 (07:11):
Because he's a married man.

Speaker 7 (07:18):
The dude speaks truth. Also this weekend, this happened, as
you say.

Speaker 13 (07:23):
The president promise that major announcement, and today we got it.
The President's signing an executive order to lower the cost
of prescription drugs for sale in the United States, setting
a thirty day deadline for drug makers to comply or
face new limits on what the government will pay.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
Now, we'll just touch on the highlights of this story,
because I get the feeling the devil is going to
be in the details, and the details just aren't out yet.
But in theory, it sounds good. The President is proposing
that the price of prescription drugs in the United States
can no longer be any higher than the lowest price
offered by a pharmaceutical company to another developed nation. Well,

(07:59):
that makes since because I mean, most of these drugs
are developed right here in the United States.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
What's been happening up till now.

Speaker 14 (08:07):
So what's been happening is we've been subsidizing other countries.

Speaker 15 (08:11):
Throughout the world, not just in Europe, throughout the world.

Speaker 14 (08:13):
European Union was the most difficult from what I understand.

Speaker 7 (08:17):
Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
I have a lot of Medicare clients and not can
attest to that. Americans pay for five continents worth of
profits the big pharma.

Speaker 14 (08:25):
The United States will no longer subsidize the healthcare of
foreign countries, which is what we were doing. We were
subsidizing others healthcare countries where they paid a small fraction
of what for the same drug that what we pay many,
many times more for. And we're no longer tolerate profiteering
and price gouging from big pharma.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
Whoa price gouging. That's some big talk from the president
NIH director about a char It makes the case.

Speaker 16 (08:53):
That's that actually is classic price gouging. I think that
is correct, and it's a kind of activity that's been
justified by Democrats and unfortunately some Republicans as well, for
decades as a way of financing R and D expenditis
for drugs.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Point blank, it's true. We pay for almost every R
and D cost on the planet. I'm not saying that
companies shouldn't be able to recoup their costs, but we
shouldn't have to pay for the socialist healthcare substies for
the rest of the Western world. And hopefully that just ended.
When we come back, we'll talk immigration with special guests.

Speaker 7 (09:29):
Lout Nichols. Stay right here.

Speaker 1 (09:31):

let's talk about the big picture. Claiming benefits before your
full retirement age, whether it's sixty six, sixty seven, or

(10:47):
somewhere in between, can reduce your monthly income by up
to thirty percent. That could mean thousands of dollars less
every year, and once you start, there's no going back.
Here's the unintended consequence. That smaller check could limit your
ability to enjoy retirement, cover healthcare costs, or leave a

(11:11):
legacy for you and your loved ones. And if you
live longer than you expect, those reduced benefits might not
be enough. But don't worry. We're here to help. At

That's the bottom line.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
We will move now from them.

Speaker 17 (12:49):
They will.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
People can't even look the free.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
Hey, everybody, we're back on that's the bottom line once again.
I'm Jeff Lewis, and joining me today is Luke Nichols,
who is the assistant Criminal District Attorney for Jefferson County.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
Luca is great to have you.

Speaker 18 (13:20):
Thank you, Jeffrey, glad to be here to talk to
your viewers.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
We appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
Luke is a friend of the show and we hope
to have him on many more times to come. Look,
there's been a big national debate over a Salvador and
citizen named Kilmar Abrago Garcia, who while living in Maryland
married a US citizen, had kids that tends to happen
and has now been deported to El Salvador. Reportedly, it

(13:44):
was first and air and then they said it was
on the grounds of him being a member of MS thirteen.
So this week I shared the video on the show's
Facebook page.

Speaker 7 (13:53):
Go to Jeff Lewis.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
That's the bottom line if you need to see it,
and it's right there. But Garcia was caught in a
human trafficking operation back in twenty twenty two by Tennessee
State troopers using a vehicle that was not in his ownership. Supposedly,
the van, which had been customized to allow additional seating
to allow for maximumocrocancy, was razored to his quote unquote

(14:18):
boss in Eastern Texas.

Speaker 7 (14:20):
So it seems that.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
The Trump administration didn't make a mistake at all, and
that claims that Garcia being part of a known terrorist
organization and are actually well founded. So that being said,
here's the question to you, does a member of the
defined terrorist organization do they have due process rights? And
if so, are they being violated by being summarily depot

(14:43):
deported from our country.

Speaker 18 (14:45):
Well, he's been violating the law ever since it came over,
and the evidence of his gang involvement and his involvement
human trafficking is emblematic of the open border problem because
what you see with MS thirteen isn't just a street.
They're not just drug dealers. They are controlling the border.
They are facilitating bringing people drugs and weapons.

Speaker 7 (15:06):
And terrorist group now and they are It's like al Qaida.

Speaker 18 (15:10):
They don't deserve the color of law when they have
never acted under it.

Speaker 7 (15:15):
I'm with you on this now. The question, I guess
is what do you do about that?

Speaker 6 (15:20):
Because I mean, they're you had disrat court shows saying
you've got to get these guys back. Well, how are
you supposed to comply with when the prison de vel
Salvador says, yeah, we're not doing that.

Speaker 18 (15:29):
She is back in his home country and they're going
to keep them.

Speaker 7 (15:32):
Okay, So I mean, you know, does it really matter that?

Speaker 6 (15:36):
I mean, he has kids here and my wife and obviously,
but I mean, is how do you deal with that
kind of situation?

Speaker 7 (15:41):
Is it really she knew that was American type of thing.

Speaker 18 (15:44):
She should have and it's unfortunate, and there's a way
to approach it, hopefully a legal way.

Speaker 15 (15:50):
All right.

Speaker 7 (15:50):
Well, uh, talking forward now. Molly Hemingway on Fox.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
News the other day, that code what we're talking about here,
saying it's essentially disingenuous to talk about the rule of
law when we're trying to close the border when the
rule of law was completely ignored when the other side
deliberately let the border open.

Speaker 7 (16:08):
Take a listen to this clip.

Speaker 19 (16:10):
Well, it's hard to take people in good faith when
they're talking about due process and rule of law when
they didn't care at all about due process and rule
of law when the border was completely open to bring
in tens of millions of illegal immigrants over the past
few decades and nobody cared about this. That's why this
nationwide injunction case before the Supreme Court is so important.
You had an election. Donald Trump was very clear that

(16:32):
he wanted to shut down the border and he wanted
to deport people who were here illegally, and people voted.

Speaker 7 (16:36):
For that, Okay, Leuke.

Speaker 6 (16:37):
So that brings up this question, is it reasonable to
conduct twenty million hearings to determine the legal status there
when it came in here illegally.

Speaker 15 (16:44):
No, it's not.

Speaker 18 (16:46):
The opening of the border was designed purposely to overwhelm
our current court system and the way we process people
coming into this country and make things like rulings and
those decisions. People were coming across three four years ago,
they were getting an initial court nate five six years
down the road. That's assurred, and that is not a

(17:08):
rule of law that is creating chaos for the purpose
of great chaos. I always go back to, and this
was something I noted probably in twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen.
I was invited by a local official as a guest
who our local Democratic Parties county banquet, and a gentleman
who I believe was the minority speaker at the Texas

(17:29):
House at the time. He was from Santonium and his
name escapes me. He went on about how we're flipped.
They were going to flip the state blot. This is
how we're going to take Texas back. Millions of people
are coming and they're going to go our way. And
later exactly they counted on this for years, and when
it didn't work the last few years, they've done everything
they can to turn it up and turns into instead

(17:51):
of hundreds of thousands to tens of millions.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
Well, the Democrats have been talking for years now about
how no one is above the law or that one.
Yet a few weeks ago, judge in Milwaukee Hannah Dugan
was arrested for helping an illegal immigrant debate arrest by Ice.
And just this week, Ross Baraka, who's the mayor of
Newark and the candidate for governor of New Jersey, was
arrested for trespassing during a protest at an ICE attention center.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
We have this clip from a Borders r Tom peman.

Speaker 17 (18:19):
I seven Day one. You can sit aside and watch you.
You can argue against us always want, and protests all
you want, but when you cross that line, I've said
this a thousand times, when you cross that line to
impediment or normally Harvard concealing an illego alahim Ice, you
will be prosecuted, judge or not.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
Now, this crackdown has resulted in a lot of pushback
for the left. Here's the Democratic mayor of Minneapolis talking
about it.

Speaker 20 (18:43):
When you have a federal administration going in to arrest
someone from the judicial branch, we've got a separation of powers.
That separation is there for a very important reason. You know,
Legislatures pass laws, the executive branch carries those laws out,
the judicial branch interprets those laws. And when someone who

(19:05):
is in charge of interpreting law is arrested by a
federal administration, this is no small deal. We need to
be very keenly aware of what's happening around us right
now because this is not a partisan issue. This kind
of thing can be a threat to the whole republic.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
He goes on to talk about how illegal aliens are
really our neighbors, but clearly these two viewpoints are starkly opposed.
Now that begs the question, how does the supremacy clause
balance federal priorities with courts and legislators on the local
and state levels when it comes to issues like illegue immigration.
You know local entities that might have motives that differ

(19:41):
from the federal administration.

Speaker 18 (19:43):
Well, the supremacy clause states is that FED law pre
outs that it has to be taking consideration prus and
that's okay. That's how we operate.

Speaker 15 (19:52):
I'm used to it.

Speaker 18 (19:53):
I'm part of the state criminal system, and I'm used
to having to sometimes let the federal criminal system play
out before I get to do what I do. What's
important to note about the gentleman from Minneapolis is he
left out an important part. What he's calling a threat
to the republic for arresting a judge. Isn't arresting a
judge for doing their job. They're not acting as part

(20:16):
of the judicial branch when they did what that that
woman is accused of doing.

Speaker 7 (20:20):
You've never let a colonel stink out the back. No,
we don't do that, okay.

Speaker 18 (20:23):
And I'm not doing my job. If I do that,
I'm eating in a betting. And they don't. They don't
want to talk about that part that just because you're
a judge doesn't give you the right to break the law,
whether the federal, state or local. A lot of your
listeners may be wondering, why does this matter. We live
in Jefferson County, Texas.

Speaker 15 (20:38):
We're not on the border.

Speaker 18 (20:39):
The reason it matters is this impacts everyone nationally when
we bring in literally millions of people that one side
expects to vote their way and impacts you locally.

Speaker 7 (20:50):
Up next to this thirty little secret, stay tuned.

Speaker 1 (20:52):

The unfaithful left, the unfaithful left wing US news media,

(23:38):
i should say, and the Democrats are having a route
rude awakening as President Trump's strategy of resetting tariffs with
foreign countries begins to take hold and in the process
has boosted the US stock market. Trump's success has devastated

(24:02):
the naysayers within the Democrat Party to the point they've
had to retreat to the fruitless madness of supporting illegals.
You are targets for deforations. Yeah, they want to send
them back to their home countries, where many of them
will have jail selves waiting for them for the crimes

(24:25):
they committed both in their home countries and the ones
carried out against the Americans as well. President Trump's actions
of installing tariffs are working and foreign countries who were
used to being able to take advantage of the United
States by finding out President Trump is someone who must

(24:49):
be reckoned with Trump's love of country, we now learn,
provides him the strength he needs to make America great again.
The pro socialist, communist leaning Democrat Party as little to
do but make fools of themselves by continuing endlessly the

(25:12):
clamor for putting foreign criminals above you and your family,
the American people. But Trump and the American people, well,
we're not having any of it. I guess President Trump
is proving himself as a master in carrying out the
so called art of the deal. Meantime, President Trump this

(25:36):
past week has been globe trotting to foreign shores bringing
positive messages to those nations who recognize his determination for
peace and prosperity, not only for we Americans, but to

(25:57):
Americans' friends as well, but not so for our enemies.
It's no secret, for instance, that Iran is stalling for
time so it can continue the development of nuclear weapons,
ultimately to use against the United States and our ally Israel.

(26:21):
Iranziatolas probably thought they would be able to talk peace
while silently continuing their plot and their dark plan of
a nuclear holocaust. Trump will never allow. He would just
never allow such a disaster to succeed. Why or how

(26:44):
you ask, simply because Trump has regained the leadership position
he holds and the mission God has reawakened in him
and his American heart to its premier mission of providing leadership,
a leadership position in the world at large. And once

(27:06):
we Americans were laughed at by foreign potentates, well the
world is over, they used well they used to just
laugh at us all the time. And the as the
world in our own left wing traitors here in America,
martyreed for our demise during the Biden administration, like so

(27:29):
many vultures picking at a wounded bull. But it just
wasn't part of God's plan, and the Almighty intervene to
provide we Americans with a new leader in Donald Trump,
strong enough to both revive and give new life to
our great country. But listen to me, We the American people,

(27:53):
are also part of that plan, and it requires us
to reawaken the patriotism for America in our own hearts.
We have to wake up, smell the coffee, so to speak,
and become aware of what lies ahead. And exactly what
does lie ahead, well, I believe it's the struggle for

(28:17):
the heart and soul of the United States of America.
America has a lot of enemies within who would prefer
socialistic communism to America's free enterprise system, and this is
the left's goal, and we must come to our senses
before we Americans allow their Unamericanism to take them over

(28:41):
and leads to damaging everything good about the United States
of American And by that I mean a God fearing
people unafraid to cherish the Almighty and enjoy the blessings
of freedom that it brings to all of us. The

(29:02):
attempted assassination of Donald Trump failed in Pennsylvania last summer,
and then once again in Florida, where another would be
assassin lurk in the bushes but failed. The dangers are
still not over. But like those old Western cowboy tales

(29:22):
of years gone by, many years now, I guess the
good guys always win, right, And that's the whole point
of being good, because deep in our American hearts we know,
beyond reason of the doubt that the good guys always win.
We were, at least my generation was brought up in

(29:44):
that sense. And so again we face each challenge with resolve,
We face each challenge with bravery, and in the end
a firm belief in our creator, and that will give
us what we need to persevere. And that's just the

(30:06):
way it is, ladies and gentlemen, Patriotism, love of country,
love of God Almighty, and this country will continue to
be a very great country, one with opportunities for everyone
who's willing to roll up their sleeves and go to work.
And that's really and truly when you look at the

(30:28):
whole story, that's the bottom line. That is the story
of the United States. Justice, freedom for everyone who seeks it.
God bless America.

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen you're listening to. That's the
bottom line. Your weekly broadcasts on KLBI that tells it
like it is. This is Gene Valerani reporting. You can
hear this show Saturday mornings at six am and then
again on Sundays at eleven am. Now listen to me

(33:31):
carefully when you hear us mention principal protection. On this program.
We're talking about specialized financial contracts which promise your initial
investment principle and credited earnings are never at risk of

(33:52):
market losses. That's because unlike those who invest in buying
stock shares or mutual fund shares. People placing funds in
a principal protection account are not actually buying any shares
of stock, not buying a bond or an index fund. Really,

(34:14):
what you're doing is earning returns based on market indices,
an index, or a combination of them. As such, a
market downturn cannot or will not reduce the contract value.
When something's added, we have earnings are added to the account,
they become part of the protected principle. These principal protection

(34:38):
accounts are designed primarily to help our clients accumulate savings
for retirement income. And despite the intended goal of being
able to accumulate and grow money for future use, clients
still have access to funds in side of these contracts.

(35:01):
That means that you can dip into it and use
your money along the way if that's what you choose.
But we offer more than principal protection plans at Asset
Growth Associates because traditional investments are also available through our firms,

(35:21):
be based investment advisory services, and opening an account with
us at Asset Growth Associates is one of the ways
to help build retirement assets. Now listen to me. We
fully understand one size does not fit all, and that's
why we offer different ways to allocate money for either

(35:45):
growth or income as part of an overall investment strategy.
These are just a few of the reasons why many
people rely on plan available through our work that Asset
Growth Associates because we help them achieve their long term

(36:07):
financial goals. That's the whole object of what we're in
business for. So the main point is I want to
let you know there's more than one way to allocate
funds inside an investment account, or you can have a
mix of allocation or different strategies, whatever works best for you.

(36:30):
And we invite interested parties to give us a call

a sock market down turn. I can't make it any

(38:22):
to a market decline. So when the market goes down,
your money stays put. You're not losing anything. When the
market returns right, you're making money without having the makeup
for lost time. The Federal Reserve, you know they're sticking
with that four percent interest rate right now. But listen

(38:43):
to me carefully. You can do better than that if
you choose, or you can have the fixed interest, whatever
you choose, and you can change it as you move
through time. Now, these ounce make money for you right
from the start, and of course listen, this is important.

(39:07):
You have access to your cash without a surrender charge
against the principal investment, and they can also be used
for turn cash flow if you need a money coming
in on a regular basis. Right by the way, since
most of these accounts are issued through life insurance companies,

(39:29):
guess what, they bypass probate and they go directly to
a named beneficiary. And you know what that means. You're
not gonna have to take a long awaited trip while
your attorney goes through probate and decides how much of
the estate you're inheriting you're gonna get on a timely basis.
