Speaker 1 (00:02):
We're just trying to turn a necchuel in to a dime.
That's the bottom line.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Welcome to real, honest talk about money, politics, news and
information you can actually use.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Buckle up and hold on tight.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
This is that's the bottom line. The best thing the
life of breeze.
Speaker 5 (00:33):
But you can give them to the bath and be the.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
Good morning everybody. This is that's the bottom line, and
I'm your host, Jeff Lewis of asset Or Associates along
with Jean Valerani. Thanks for taking time out of your
weekend to be with this. Before I get to our
top line story, which is regrettably the horrific news from
the Texas Hill Country, I want to preface it by
saying this, there's some really sick people out there now.
(01:12):
I made the decision that I'm not going to air
one word of the completely acid, nine demonic comments that
we've all seen this past week on social media. I'm
of the opinion that this sort of crap doesn't deserve
a platform. So we're not going to talk about the
hateful rhetoric that's been spewed from the left about the
tragic loss of life that has affected our state, even
(01:33):
our city, including some of you listening now. I don't
personally know any of the families who lost lovelands in
the flooding over the holiday.
Speaker 7 (01:42):
But I do have friends that do.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
I'm not going to delve deeply into the metaphysical questions
like why does God allow this sort of thing to happen,
because the pointless a friend of mine lost this little
girl to cancer last year, and I honestly have no
idea how this sort of thing fits into anyone's to
buy plan. I do know the only thing that a
loving God would use this kind of event for is
(02:05):
to allow an opportunity to bring people closer to Him
that might not otherwise be listening. That's it beyond that
you got me, but that's exactly what I believe we
all need to be doing right now, being a light
that shines directly on the Cross. And that's what makes
me so proud to be a Texan is that's exactly
what's happening, despite all the lobs of gunking hurled by
(02:27):
evil minded people that they use to try to distract
us with. And that's where I prefer to leave matters naturally,
though it's firstly impossible to leave it right there. Because
this became a national news story and it's going to
have some political implications. We've got over one hundred people dead,
a lot more missing, a lot of them kids, and
(02:48):
it's not wrong to want to try to figure out
what happened and make changes if necessary. But these types
of policy decisions need to be based on fact, not speculation,
and speculation is all the radical left has been doing
this week. Take Chucky Schumer, for example, who's calling for
an investigation with whether or not the doge cutch, which
(03:10):
reduced National Weather Service staff of about five hundred employees nationwide,
are responsible for the loss of life. That argument might
make better sense if the NWS hadn't been able to
put out any warnings, but the warnings did go out
and the weather offices in the area were actually overstaffed
for the holiday weekend. Here's the best explanation of the
(03:32):
sequence of events that I've found as it relates to
the advanced notice that the National Weather Service put out there.
This is the meteorologist at WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas.
Speaker 8 (03:44):
From Tuesday to Thursday, morning forecasts from the National Weather
Service in San Antonio and Austin mentioned the potential for flooding,
So you know, a couple of days leading up to
the event. They were mentioning the potential for heavy rain
and flooding. At one eighteen in the afternoon Thursdays, so
this would be the afternoon before this happened, a floodwatch
was issued through Friday morning. The floodwatch mentioned up to
(04:07):
seven inches of raid and the possibility of rivers flooding.
Kerk County was included in that initial flood watch Thursday afternoon.
By six' Ten thursday, evening a special discussion was. Issued
what this means is it's just an area, highlighted an
area of interest where the forecast is becoming a little
bit more clear and the dynamics of what might take
(04:29):
shape become a little bit more. Obvious and some of
the things mentioned in that discussion were things like concerning
trends flash, flooding likely rainfall rates higher than three inches per.
Hour now we go all the way to one o'clock
in the morning On. Friday at one six early in
the morning On, friday the first flash flood morning For
Kirk county was. Issued and this was a unique one
(04:51):
in a. Sense the tag of considerable was issued with this. Morning,
now what does that mean when The National Weather service
puts in considerable or catastrophic or devastating into these tags
or in these warnings that typically triggers the wireless emergency
alerts on cell phones that you know how your cell
phone will go off during a severe thunderstorm or. Tornado
(05:14):
warning tags like that will sound them for flash flood.
Warnings at two twenty eight in the morning On, friday
there was a communication delivered by The National Weather service
saying that up to five inches of rain had fallen
and flash flooding had likely begun In Kerr. County, again
that was at two twenty eight in the morning On.
Friday at three oh two in the morning On, friday
(05:35):
another communication went out saying that a dangerous flash flood
event is unfolding in south Central Kerr. County we go
then to four o'clock in the morning four oh Three,
friday a flash flood emergency was issued For Kerk. COUNTY
a very small fraction of flash flood warnings actually get that.
Upgrade this is usually when flash flooding can turn deadly very. Quickly,
(05:56):
then by four point twenty in the morning On, friday
The Guadalupe river At, hunt which is very close To Camp.
Mystic Camp mystic technically In hunt reaches major flood. Stage
the major flood stage for the river there twenty two.
Feet it crested at twenty nine point four to five
feet at four thirty five in the.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
Morning so it's not like the Weather service was asleep
on the job or that we didn't have enough. Weathermen
they told us that something bad could, happen but that's
not uncommon around this. Area the problem is is that
this was a freak, event and while this area is
known for its flash, flooding what happened that night caught
everyone by. Surprise the weekend, Prior Tropical Storm berry made
(06:36):
landfall in Northern.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Mexico did you know there was a.
Speaker 9 (06:39):
Storm in The? GULF i didn't.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
Either it barely even qualified massic stained winds of forty
five miles an, hour which around here is weaker than
some of the squalls when we get off the coast
in the. Afternoon so it went mostly on reported around.
Here but the boys sure was guided up Toward texas
by The Sierra Madre mountains Of mexico and ran into
a low pressure vortex calling and this called a freakish
(07:01):
amount of rainfall over the worst possible. Place it's sent
a wall of water over twenty feet high rushing through the,
ravines and, well we know the. Rest Meteorologists Pat kavlan
A khou, eleven THE cbs affiliate over In, houston does
a fantastic job of explaining the science behind WHAT i just,
summarized AND i posted the full video on Our facebook.
(07:23):
Page it's over twelve, minutes but it's well worth. Watch
but here's the critical point that he, makes and the.
Speaker 10 (07:30):
Problem is that this presents for forecasters ON tv at
the government level and the private sector across the, board
is that this is really pushing the science of meteorology
to the. Limit we are not at a point yet
where we can pinpoint exactly where these thunderstorms are going
to pop up and where that flooding is going to.
Happen but this was pretty much every worst case scenario
(07:52):
coming to. Light tropical moisture AND mcv and the terrain
here again through the hill country with all of these
little ravines and creeks and streams kind of emptying into
one big. River this is where flash flooding was the.
Worst and this is WHAT i was talking, about Where
the science just isn't there. Yet we are not at
a point yet where we can identify where these individual
(08:13):
pockets that lead to this life threatening flash flooding can
happen until pretty much it's starting to. Happen so within
about thirty minutes to an, hour The National Weather service
is going to see the trends and they're going to
issue the. Warnings but those warnings will only come with
about twenty to thirty minutes of. Notice we, can't you,
know it's not at a point yet we can give
you a day's worth of notice to get out of
(08:36):
the way of these flooding.
Speaker 6 (08:38):
Events the technology simply hasn't arrived to provide enough warning
in these areas to be of immediate. USE a thirty
minute warning was never going to be enough to evacuate these.
Camps even the sirens that we've heard talked about that
were apparently voted down by the, county those are activated
(08:58):
by actual water rising at gauges placed throughout the, area
and at the speed this water was coming, up it's
not very likely that an audible system would have been effective.
EITHER i imagine they'll be coming now, anyway whether or
not The County Pace forum or the state or a
federal rant covers. It what matters most right now are
(09:19):
our prayers and our. Support up, next the big beautiful
bill is. Law stay right.

Texas so here we.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
Go it's, big it's, beautiful and it's. Law on this
vote THE yaser two eighteen THE naser two.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Fourteen the motion is.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Adopted despite what amounted to a one man filibuster By
Democratic Leader Hakeem. Jeffries his speech droned on overnight for
eight and a half, hours The house was still able
(15:14):
to pass the.
Speaker 7 (15:15):
Bill ahead of the fourth Of july.
Speaker 6 (15:16):
Holiday President trump signed it into law at a Massive
Independent stays celebration on The White House south, lawn which
included flyovers by stealth aircraft That iranians don't like very.
Much needless to, Say trump's entire second term agenda was
wrapped up in this, bill so getting it Through congress
was a major. Feat it took both compromise and leadership
(15:39):
to navigate the politics of two legislative, houses both with
razor thin. Majorities even two weeks, ago the consensus was
it couldn't be. Done yet here we, are and let's be,
honest the last couple of weeks are the best that
any president has ever.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
Enjoyed, okay so what's an final version of the?
Speaker 6 (16:00):
Bill democrats want to scare you into thinking it's one
Big medicaid, cut but that's not even close to the.
Truth Here's Treasury Secretary Scott peasant educating CNN's Dana.
Speaker 13 (16:14):
Bash trump only IN dc is a twenty percent hike
over ten years a, cut So medicaid funding will go
up twenty percent over the next ten. Years the people
Who medicaid were designed for the pregnant, women the, disabled
and families with children under fourteen will be. Refocused the
(16:38):
able Bodied americans are not Vulnerable. Americans so a work
requirement or a community service requirement that's very popular with the,
public and many state programs have.
Speaker 14 (16:51):
That now it might be, popular but it's not with
the president. Promise the president promise that there would not
be changes To medicaid, benefits and putting a world requirement
is by definition a change to. Benefits, no there are.
Speaker 13 (17:04):
No change in. Benefits there's a change in requirements to
get the. Benefits and what we are doing we are
bringing back manufacturing. Jobs we are bringing back working class
jobs by securing the. Border we have seen already seen
working class wages move, up so we are creating. Jobs
people can get Off medicaid and get a job that
(17:25):
has good healthcare. Benefits.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
Pana the only change In medicaid is that it's being
redirected To americans who need it instead of the illegals who.
Don't but in, reality the biggest impact of the bill
will be on your. Taxes, first the twenty seventeen tax
cuts From trump's first term are made. Permanent they would
have expired at the end of this. Year but funny
(17:49):
how you never hear a peak from anyone that ever
criticizes the. Bill democrats don't want to talk about how
in effect they were voting to impose a major tax
hike on middle Income america by letting the previous rates
go back into. Effect the bill also locks in the
increased standard deductions of The trump era to a base
(18:09):
of just under sixteen thousand a person with annual inflation.
Adjustments plus now you get an additional thousand dollars deduction
per person for charitable, donations like if you tie the.
Church this is brand new because before you had an
itemized to get. It, now if you do, itemize you
can only deduct deduct donations in excess of half a
(18:33):
percent of your, Income so a person making two hundred
thousand dollars a year would exclude the first thousand dollars
off their. Donations the next big one that if you're
itemizing is state in local taxes commonly referred to. Assault
those are deductible now at the forty thousand instead of
ten thousand from. Before this was somewhat unpopular with some
(18:56):
OF Us republicans because it effectively incentivizes bluest.
Speaker 7 (19:00):
To have higher tax.
Speaker 6 (19:01):
Rates but THE gop didn't have the votes without this,
compromise and it does sunset in twenty. Thirty it also
puts a permanent cap on mortgage interest, deductions limiting the
loan amount to seven hundred and fifty thousand. Dollars that's
a big number here In, texas but less so in
a lot of other. States so this is something that
(19:21):
a lot More texans will benefit from because of our
comparatively lower property. Values there's a lot in here that's
geared towards working. Families The child tax credit is now
twenty two hundred dollars a, kid and you can get
seventeen hundred of it refunded beyond your actional tax. Liability better,
(19:41):
yet you now have to provide solial security numbers for the,
kids so, yes the children must actually be.
Speaker 7 (19:48):
Legal there goes that.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
Loophole plus introducing The Trump. Account it's a saving fund for,
kids kind of like AN ira but for. Miners anyone
can contribute up to five thousand a year before distributions
have to be taken starting at age, eighteen and for
any kid board this year going, forward you get one
(20:11):
thousand dollars tax credit just for opening the. Account no
tax on tips at least for the first twenty five,
thousand and it does have to be an.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
Occupation where tips are.
Speaker 6 (20:20):
Customary auto loan interest is also, deductible and, finally the
most important one in my, opinion instead of not Taxing Social,
security which we couldn't pass because it's within the reconciliation,
process we're instead getting a deduction for. Seniors it's above the,
lines so the little lower your actual income if you're
over sixty five by six thousand of person phased out by,
(20:42):
income which can also help you get below other certain
thresholds like capital gains and qualified. Dividends when we come,
back Gene valerandia is, here stay with.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
Us we're just trying to turn a nekel into a.
Dive that's the bottom.
Speaker 9 (20:57):
Line did you know that if your portfolio drops thirty
percent in a market, downturn earning back thirty percent doesn't
get you back to Even that's, Right it actually takes
a forty three percent return just to recover your. Losses

Line good morning once again to all of our. Listeners
this is Ged valerati and Today's dirty little. Secret and
BEFORE i, START i want to send our deepest sympathies
out to those of you who have lost your child
(23:09):
or children in this horrible flood on The Waterloop. River
it's not easy to lose a, child trust, ME i. Know, okay,
Folks it wouldn't, be AS i, said much of a
stretch to suggest That blue states Like, california as well
as several other states continue to harbor illegal aliens who
(23:33):
have entered The United states. Unlawfully would it be a
stretch to suggest these states are in rebellion against The United.
States remember one, thing if you don't, care it's your tax.
Dollars which states such As, California New, York, massachusetts and
several others that are in you might as well say
(23:55):
open rebellion against The United, states if not in actual,
arms but in how they conduct themselves when they give
your tax dollars the money the federal government siphons off
Of american workers' paychecks and then uses your money to
(24:17):
squander among people who are not, here who are not here. Legally,
now let me ask you, this to what end will
this war Against american taxpayers be? Ended taking your tax
dollars to fund the lives of these ill legal, immigrants
(24:38):
these people and providing housing to, them food and other.
Benefits you, know ladies and, gentlemen that isn't. Charity and
When President trump is sending them back to where they come,
from he's only doing it because they shouldn't have come
here in the first. Place As, americans we can make
(25:02):
charitable donations to whatever we wish to help the, poor
those who are, disabled and so. Forth but has been
pointed out, recently there are many able bodied individuals who
should be working but do. Not and then when you
compound the situation with non citizens who have entered The
(25:26):
United states, illegally and then find out that many of
whom are members of criminal gangs who prey On american
citizens and should have no right to be given what
you pay in federal tax and shared with those who
have no right to be here in the first. Place
(25:47):
it's your money that's being given to, them and this
is why they must be sent back to their countries of.
Origin and if they're not a member of a of
an old, gang apply to become here. Legally what is
it that Most democrat politicians don't understand the difference about
(26:11):
legal and Illegal i'll tell you what it's all. About
it's about having illegals counted among the LEGITIMATE us population
so as to Help blue states boost their population counts
that Enlarge democrat seats in The house And. Senate that's
exactly what it's all. About but then stop and, think
(26:36):
isn't this the same as having illegals move into your
home and expect to be fed and housed free of.
Charge common sense tells us the answer to that, question
you do what the answer, is of course. Not, besides
having what belongs to you taken forcefully from you isn't
(26:58):
charity in the first. Place it's robbery and. Theft, now
there's a big difference between charity and. Theft and what
The democrats In washington and elsewhere throughout the country are
doing is to create trying to create new voters who
will vote For, democrats who then The democrats can rule
(27:23):
over Legitiate, americans Legitimate, AMERICANS i should, say with an iron,
Fist american jobs, will if this happens once, again be
sent overseas where production will be carried out as slave,
labor and done so to shrink The american middle, class
(27:44):
create a nation of the, haves and the have nots
here at. Home in such a, situation that's what would
happen To american. Employment it would just be sent. Away
then you'd have the class of the haves and the have. Nots,
right and this sounds far fetched to, you then maybe
(28:06):
you better wake up and smell the, coffee ladies and,
gentlemen because this is the master plan of the. Communists
you are attempting to take over what once was considered
the party of The american working middle. Class and that
was what The democrats used to be the party Of
(28:27):
they're they're not that way anymore. Now President trump is
working to end such a such a future for We.
Americans but in the, end it's up to, us The american,
people to retain our way of life and continue to
(28:47):
embrace the opportunities given us in a free and boy
Full american. Society it's the responsibility of each and Every
american to prepare one's elf for participation in a bountiful
country with freedom and justice and opportunity for. All we
(29:08):
as individuals still possess those opportunities of being An. American
we cannot allow left wing politicians to take that away from,
us and in so, doing bring down our bountiful, future
because in the, end that's really the bottom, line that's
what's going to. Happen, now listen to. Me we just
(29:31):
Celebrated Independence day and it should serve as a remembrance
of what this, nation The United states Of, america was.
Founded because really and, truly ladies and, gentlemen that is
the bottom. Line Homeland security is doing its. Job they're
(29:51):
protecting The american people and our way of. Life they're
sending the illegals back to where they came. From and
think that's not being mean. Spirited these people came here.
Illegally they broke the law when they crossed the river
and came into The United. States they're welcome to apply
(30:12):
to come here like immigrants of decades gone by always.
Have but right now that doesn't seem to be the,
case does. It and it's up to us to defend our,
country one nation Under, god with liberty and justice for
all of our. Citizens and that's really the bottom line
(30:32):
and WHAT i want to carry to you this. Morning,
now you stay tuned because we have much more to
offer in today's. Show don't go.
Speaker 1 (30:39):

(34:12):
We americans go about our daily business of making a,
living caring for our families and for many living in prosperous,
times we still have enemies out, there both foreign and,
domestic who remain determined to undermine The american way of
life we enjoy and render us harm one way or. Another,
(34:35):
now if they can't accomplish it with, bombs they often
try to do it with financial. Calamities it's now twenty
twenty five and in the short space OF i guess
less than four years, now we're going to be going
back to the. Polls it's good ways, off but it's
(34:56):
still something to think. About, obviously The democrats want to
re turn to total, power and since they have nothing
to run, on it's not above them to try and
create a financial. Crisis or if it's not a domestic financial,
attack it might be a foreign terrorist. Attack either, way
(35:19):
it always seems to spook when something like that, happens
it always seems to spook the financial. Markets i'm sure
we've all experienced, that. Right AND i say this because our,
enemies both domestic and, foreign usually try and create financial
hardship as a means to an, end and this is
(35:40):
why we Had Asset Growth. Associates often what appropriate show
our clients how to build financial safety nets inside their
investment portfolios while we do our work for. Them At
Asset Growth, associates we refer to these plans as principal
protection accounts because while they are indexed to the financial,
(36:04):
markets they are contractually guaranteed not to lose money during
a market. Downturn while providing guarantees against, losses these unique
accounts are still indexed to the financial markets and ad
gains during the rising. Market then the credited gains when,
(36:26):
added become part of the original principle where they remain
and continue to, grow always immune from losing value during
a market. Downturn that's what to, you because your account
would become part of principal. Protection so when a downturn
(36:47):
causes many traditional investors to set sufferer. Setback these specialized
protected principal accounts issued Through Asset growth associates never suffer
a setback because the worst thing that can happen during
an annual contract period is not to earn a. Return but,
(37:09):
listen you never lose money during a mark a, downturn
and as, such when the market, recovers these, accounts which
have never lost, value never have to make up for
lost time going through a recovery gap because they simply
pick up from where they left off before the. Downturn
(37:31):
so while other outside principle for, accounts your regular investment,
accounts outside of principle and, protection while they're continue waiting
for something to happen just to get back to even
clients and principal, protection listen to, me are already moving
(37:53):
up in their. Earnings what's wrong with? That nothing's wrong with.
It and that's what we help our clients. With it's
as simple an is. That AND i want many of
you listening to me this morning to keep keep in
mind What i've. Said think back to two thousand and,
(38:13):
eight for, example and the big crash which The democrats
called The Great. Recession you remember, that don't put it.
Past then they would love that to happen, again and
then they think you would all go flocking and Voting.
