Speaker 6 (02:24):
Good morning everybody. This is that's the bottom line. I'm
your host, Jeff Lewis of Asset Growth Associates along with
Gene Valerani. Thanks for spending part of your weekend with us.
Our top line story this week is the continuing aftermath
of the Charlie Kirk assassination. Before I get into it,

(02:44):
I want to say this. This show has been running
for a few decades now, and we've always focused on
economic and political targets. We will continue to do that
for years to come, but this event has had a
major impact in my own perspective on things I'm too
young to be able to like. Some of our audience

(03:05):
can remember the assassinations of the sixties, as I wasn't
even born yet, so I wasn't around for stuff like
when MLK got shot for either they're the Kennedys. This
level of political violence is a completely foreign concept to me.
So when I saw this happen last week, it made
the whole idea of what we faced, not just as conservatives,

(03:29):
but as professing Christians. It came crashing home. I grew
up in the Baptist churches, still go there today, and
so it's not like it's I never heard of the
idea of martyrdom. We're taught that such things can happen
and may very well become a reality one day, but
it's another thing altogether to actually see it happen. And

(03:51):
so it poses a direct challenge to me, particularly given
my role here. I have a unique opportunity here because
I have a voice that's not afforded to a lot
of people. I've got a platform to express my opinions
on a weekly basis, which I'd done for a long time,
ever since twenty ten when I first became a regular
on local TV. And now here is the host of

(04:13):
this fine show, and the question I've been wrestling with
for the last week is what do.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
I do with that?

Speaker 6 (04:21):
Personally? And it makes me ask myself, what would Charlie
have done. Charlie Kirk never shied away from an issue,
but even more than that, he was fully transparent about
his relationship with Jesus Christ. If you ever watched or
listened to any of his events, it didn't take long

(04:41):
before you heard him talk about it. He talked about
his faith because that's who he was. He believed that
sharing the Gospel was as integral a part of his
mission as anything else he talked about. In fact, I'd
argue he believed that was his mission and I believe
that two. Because the bottom line is this, The only

(05:04):
thing that matters in the end is your relationship with
Jesus Christ. You can have more money than you can
ever spend, but you can't take it with you. Like
Jesus says in Mark eight thirty six, what good does
it do you to gain the whole world but to
lose your own soul? So I can sit here and

(05:25):
give you great investment advice like we always do every week,
or come in on the latest economic and political news,
But if we're also not telling you in the process
about the one thing that can and will completely change
your life, and that's the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ
that can literally be the difference in your eternal destination. Well,

(05:47):
I feel like I'd be a failure at what I'm
called to do, so I want to say this publicly
and for the record. As long as I'm in this chair,
we will speak this truth unashamedly and boldly saying we're
going to beat you over the head with it. Obviously,
we're a financial firm, not a church, and our focus
will remain on current events. I know there's people out

(06:09):
there listening right now that may not care a lot
about faith related issues, and we respect your right to
a different view. You don't have to agree with this
to like our show or to be our client, but
wherever it's possible to do so, we will proclaim the
truth of Jesus Christ, that he died on a cross
for sins both past and future, and that he conquered

(06:33):
death through his resurrection, and that we can be saved
through faith in this not from the presence of death
just yet, but from the penalty of it, that we
too can be restored in fellowship with Almighty God. Now
I ain't a perfect messenger. I've got flaws and bad habits,
just like everyone else. People like to say Christians are hypocritical,

(06:56):
and we certainly are. That's because we need forgiveness like
everyone else. The big difference is I've asked for it
and to change gears slightly. That's where I think the
left is totally missing the point where it comes to well,
not just Charlie Kirk, but really all of us. When

(07:16):
we talk about these things, we're not trying to judge
you or trying to help you escape the judgment itself.
Because what we're seeing play out in front of our
very eyes isn't a political battle. It's literal, spiritual warfare
that's now spilled out into the physical world for all
of us to see. And it's happening now because of

(07:40):
how one man lived his life. Because one man lived
his life for Jesus Christ and died for it, his
story is being played out on every news outlet. Here's
Fox News chief anchor Brett Fhair speak with his predeiciser,
brit Hume.

Speaker 8 (07:59):
Britt Man of Faith, you talk about it, young people
sometimes don't talk about it. But now in the wake
of this I've heard a lot more of it. I've
heard a lot more of expressing their faith and a
want of need for faith in their life.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
It was certainly central to Charlie Kirk's message and the
way he lived his life. And you know it may
have helped to create a new kind of permission structure
on that very thing in life. And I know that
I'm reading that the churches were filled to a much
greater extent than usual this Sunday. That's a sign that
something very positive may have come out of this owing

(08:39):
to Charlie Kirk and the way he lived his life.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
Can you think of any better way for someone to
describe your life on National TV? I could only dream
of such a legacy. In the words of a quote
that's often attributed to C. S. Lewis, my hope is
that when I die, all of Hell rejoices that I
am out of the fight. Take no mistake, There's been

(09:03):
plenty of rejoicing, and I'm sure we'll be talking about
that sordid aspect of this and the weeks to come.
But while Charlie's fight is over, he finished his course
and he kept his faith, It's not over for the
rest of us. And his wife, Erica put out this
call for action in the wake of his assassination.

Speaker 9 (09:23):
If you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before,
you have no idea. You have no idea what you
just have unleashed across this entire country, in this world.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
You have no idea.

Speaker 9 (09:43):
You have no idea the fire that you have ignited
within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo
around the world like a battle cry.

Speaker 6 (09:55):
We go to battle when we return back after this.

We're just turn an apple in to what time.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
That's the bottom line.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
We will now, we will.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
We're back with that's the bottom line. I'm Jeff Lewis.
There's actually been a lot of other news going on,
but it's basically been crowded out the last week and
a half because obviously, when you're dealing with historical events
of this magnitude, job reports just kind of take a
back seat. We also have a confrontation brewing with the
Venezuelan government over US blowing up drug runners. But before

(14:41):
we can get to all that, I first want to
address the political fallout. What we know about the assassin himself.
The alleged shooter is a man in his early twenties
named Tyler Robinson. He was apparently motivated by trans ideology
because he's got a boyfriend identifying as a girl. He
was raised in Utah by conservative parents, but he was

(15:05):
at ideological odds with them. The district attorney over the case,
Jeff Gray, provided details this week.

Speaker 11 (15:13):
Robinson's mother explained that over the last year or so,
Robinson had become more political and had started to lean
more to the left, becoming more pro gay and trance,
writes Oriented. She stated that Robinson began to date his roommate,
a biological male who was transitioning genders. This resulted in

(15:38):
several discussions with family members, but especially between Robinson and
his father, who have very different political views. In one
conversation before the shooting, Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk would
be holding an event at UVU, which Robinson said was

(15:59):
a stupid vane for the event. Robinson accuse Kirk of
spreading hate.

Speaker 6 (16:06):
It's clear cut why this happened. Yet we're seeing a
huge push on the left to avoid responsibility. Instead, they're
trying to reframe the narrative by making it look like
the shooter was part of the Maga movement. Jimmy Kimmel
made this assertation on his late night show on ABC.

Speaker 12 (16:27):
We hit some new lows over the weekend with the
Magga gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered
Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and
everything they can to score political points from. And in
between the finger pointing, there was grieving On Friday, the
White House flew the flags at half staff, which got
some criticism.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
Yeah, the left is even pissed that Trump ordered the
flags to half mast, you know, for national mourning. To
many on the left, this assassination has nothing to be
upset about. But what Kimmel did wasn't a matter of
mere tastelessness. It is political strategy straight from the DNC.

(17:07):
What ABC didn't expect was the refusal of many of
their local affiliates to refuse to run this episode, and
enough local stations forced a hand of ABC to quote
and definitely suspend Jimmy Kimmel's show altogether. This comes on
the heels of ABC already coming under scrutiny for its
reporting of the assassination. Reporter Matt Guttman essentially glorified the

(17:32):
shooter as acting out of love like some Shakespearean tragedy.
Listen to this nonsense.

Speaker 13 (17:39):
We have seen an alleged murder with such specific text
messages about the alleged murder weapon, where it was hidden,
how it was placed, what was on it. But also
it was very touching in a way that I think
many of us didn't expect, a very intimate portrait into
this relationship between the suspect's roommate, and the suspect himself,

(18:00):
with him repeatedly calling his roommate who is transitioning, calling
him my love and I want to protect you, my love.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
This attempt to rehabilitate the public perception of the shooter
is utterly vile. This is only happening because it's involving
the transissue, which the left desperately wants to promote. Believe me,
if the shooter had actually been part of the MAGA movement,
they beatarn feathering the guy in the legacy media. This
shooting happened because of left wing ideology, period, and it's

(18:31):
not some isolated event like we've been saying on the
show forever. Someone is orchestrating all of this. There's someone
out there that's recruiting these people, whether it's on the
dark web or on websites like gaming forums. Senator Eric
Schmidt of Missouri addressed this in a hearing on Wednesday.

Speaker 14 (18:50):
It didn't happen in a vacuum. Over the past decade,
we've seen an explosion of political violence, not just one
off lone wolf attacks, but organized systemic violence at a
mass scale. It is not organic. It is the offspring
of a dark and clandestine system funded in part with
our own tax dollars, winning with a large network of foundations, NGOs,

(19:14):
activist organations, and front groups. This system lurks behind every
radical leftist movement in our nation today. The George Soros
Empire has financed a vast ecosystem of radicals all working together,
dropping off bricks at riots, junleishy tidal wave of violently

(19:34):
anarchists on our streets and to prop it up, and
an army of researchers and experts and journalists and propagandas
who downplay the political violence.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
And that's why Charlie Kirk's murder is so important, because
it marks a significant change in strategy by the evil
actors plaguing this country. They crossed the rubicon, so to speak,
because now they're willing to openly target and murder civilians.
Charlie Kirk wasn't a candidate for any particular office, like
the targets and most assassination attempts. And that's what makes

(20:05):
it so real for people like you and me, and
so dangerous politically for people on the left, is that
for the first time, we're being killed for what we
say and believe, and America is not going to stand
for it, and neither is President Trump. Just this week
he declared Antifa a terrorist organization. Now we still have

(20:26):
time this segment to talk about rate cuts, so let's
talk about it. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve finally dropped
interest rates, even though it was only by a quarter point.
Kind of like that text message you get on a
blind first date that those are they're running late, but
they'll get there eventually.

Speaker 11 (20:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
Fine, all Wait, Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by a
quarter point as expected, to a new range of four
to four and a quarter percent. New Fed Governor and
former CEOs current chair Stephen Marvin dissenting in favor of
fifty basis point cut. The media and FED official looking
for two more rate cuts this year, just barely. I'll
get you details on that in a second. This statement

(21:03):
importantly says the balance of risks have shifted downside. Risk
to employment has risen.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
Sounds like employment is weaker than anyone anticipated. I wonder
if that had something to do with the Bureau of
Labor Statistics cooking the books under the Biden administration. We
just found out jobs were overstated by nearly another million
during Biden's last year in office. Here's Larry Cudlow. Okay,
so it looks like we're going to need all of

(21:31):
this foreign investment to help boost job creation. Fortunately, as
Cutloaw goes on to point out, household net worth, which
includes investments and home equity, is an an all time high.
So that coupled with the Trump tax cuts and deregulations,
we may be in for a business boom when we
come back. Geen Valerani, stay tuned.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
We're Josh trying to turn a nekel into a dime.

Speaker 10 (21:58):
That's the bottom line. We're just trying to turn a
nickel into a dime. That's the bottom line.

Speaker 15 (22:11):
Welcome back, you're listening to. That's the bottom line. This
is Gene Valerani reporting, and we take a deeper look into,
you know, a deeper look into the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
This is quite an event in US history, ladies and gentlemen,

(22:36):
and I know that you understand that. But as many
ponder the assassination of Charlie Kirk at age thirty two
this past week, one wonders how far the left will
go to kill its political rivals. Tyler Robinson age twenty two,

(22:58):
allegedly assassin mister Kirk, and in so doing exposed simmering
political hatred now brewing between the left and the right
within the American Republic. Among the Democrats, it seems mister
Kirk's murder has brought the strain between the left wing

(23:22):
politics and right wing once to a boil. And while
most Republicans I wore what has occurred, many Democrats could
care less as the rhetoric spreads between Democrats and Republicans,
how this political rifley will end. As anyone's guest, this

(23:46):
event has opened a new schism between Republicans and Democrats,
a schism which shows little chance of ending quickly and
foretells the future ahead of both political parties. They used
to say the difference between Democrats and Republicans or no

(24:09):
more than the opposite side of the same coin. Is
that going to be the case going forward? I guess
we've reached a point of entity going forward that Democrats
and Republicans will find it hard to reconcile their differences.

(24:30):
So the challenge is to try and understand how one
side has become much more than simply calling the difference
of the two sides of the same coin, how far
this political rivalry will be pursued, and to what ended

(24:53):
brings to an increasingly divided America. You know that's what's happening,
ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 10 (25:00):
You know.

Speaker 15 (25:01):
The task at hand is, of course, to find a
way for both sides to cool down, if that's even possible.
And I'm not sure how much either side has to
relent and sensible minds take over. But from my point
of view, and now listen to me carefully, from my

(25:23):
point of view, it looks like the task at hand
to render normalcy in our political parties needs more reconciliation
than otherwise seems likely. There seems little doubt that the
two political parties are a far way apart with little
help available to finally restore law and order. The law

(25:49):
and order we Americans need more of it in our
overcrowded cities run mostly by Democrats. You know that there's
a chance the two sides can come together, But one
wonders what magic potent must be whipped up. So for

(26:14):
now the foreseeable future, the animosity must stop and the
political parties must learn to work together. If not, then
what really and truly if not then what we really
have a very difficult time agreeing to pursue what is

(26:36):
right instead of fighting among ourselves. Would you agree with
me on that? But for the foreseeable future, it would
seem there's not much agreement between the two sides, probably
never will be if we continue down this road them

(27:00):
think about it. The main thing requires a steadfast principle
to normal discourse and dialogue, and the desire to work
together for the common good, if that's even possible. Un Fortunately,
we have a strong leader in Washington, DC, in Donald Trump.

(27:24):
But can our president be fully protected? I'm sure that
job in and of itself is no easy task, and
I believe as long as we have a strong president
and Republican majorities in the House and Senate, we can

(27:45):
preserve our country to being what it's supposed to be.
What's it supposed to be, folks, supposed to be that
shining city on a hill that Ronald Braagan once called it.
If Republicans continue to hold maturities in the House and Senate,

(28:06):
we may get through this present danger of destroying ourselves internally,
you know, destroying ourselves internally, because we're headed that way
right now. I hope you understand that, but even that
seems like a long shot, especially when there's so many
adversaries acting as the enemy within, especially when there's so

(28:29):
many of them out there. But for the time being,
we have to work together. It's our best and really
only option. But I don't know, I don't know if
we can't meantime, the hand of the Almighty may be
the only answer to hold us together. And as we
look at things this morning, we begin to see that

(28:52):
perhaps that's the bottom line in perpetuity, and we'll be
back with much more right after.

Speaker 10 (28:59):
The We're just trying to turn ankel into a time
that's the bottom line.

(31:59):
have to find what is comfortable for you and how
you want the investment to grow, and to do so
with the least possible risk that Asset Growth Associates we
offer the plans that fit all the many needs for
accumulating money over time without exposing those investment dollars to

(32:24):
loss when the stock market has a downturn. I cannot
emphasize this enough. It's called principal protection, and it's linked
to either market returns or fixed interest, but either way
your money grows over time, and these accounts are great

(32:44):
for both four oh one K rollovers and pension rollovers
and other accounts available to grow over time and accumulate
earnings without having a downturn along the way when the
market has a hiccutt. And this is why it's called
principal protection. When the stock market has a downturn, money

(33:06):
in one of these plans doesn't lose a dime, did
you hear me? During a downturn, money in one of
these plans doesn't lose a dime, And when the market
comes back, it just picks up where it was, and
as such there's no way to get back up because
nothing's ever lost to begin with. And these plans are

(33:27):
great for pension, for a one K rollover, sand for
anything people save money for. I've told you this before.
I can't tell you not a good way to save money.
They have market returns, you have fixed interest returns. Your
money's going to grow and it's going to give you

(33:48):
a nest egg, something that you can fall back on
later in life when you retire. We also do pension
rollovers here too. Now we've all been told to sayave
money for rainy days and as the years roll by,
inflation and other financial contracts sometimes have a hard time

(34:09):
creeping up or keeping up, i should say, with the
roller coaster ride of market ups and downs. Remember these
plans that I'm talking about do not lose money during
a market downturn, and that means there's no way to
just get back to even. Whenever the market goes down,

(34:31):
you don't lose anything. You stay right where you are,
and then when the market starts picking up again, you
don't have to make up for lost time. That's a
pretty good deal as far as I'm concerned, you know,
And if you start soon enough, you can build a
nice nestake so that by the time you retire you
have this extra reserve of cash reserves that you can

(34:57):
fall back. I've all ald to save money for rainy
