Speaker 1 (00:01):
I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't
like it, you don't like it. Nobody likes it.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Nobody likes it. It's been a while, astronest Lien be
that long I thought we did an episode was.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Less than a week ago? Did we pretty sure we did?
Maybe you have no concept of the passage of time.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I really don't. And it's as the same like, and.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
That's kind of like what made jess Man sometimes was
I like, I just like when you live in the
moment anymore, especially like when the like, you know, death
is after me one hundred percent, we know he is.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
He wants me gone, he teases me final destination style.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
I just see as saying is it's more like I'm
coasting through life at the moment.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
It's like the.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Concept of time is just I am lucky to realize
what what day it is?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
You know, Yeah, I'm gonna you because what was it
here recently coming to Sam and you were like, yeah,
this this thing that happened a week ago, and we're like, kind.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Of that was eight months ago.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
I can remember what it was sounds about right, Yeah,
I'd say I in my line, I have forgotten the.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Concept of what time is so master hunts.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
What have you been up to as a blade three
D printing.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
I'm not picking up another hobby. I'm sorry, I don't
have the room.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
I am not.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Picking up another hobby with you guys. This is this
could be yours.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
In the example, Yeah did that? I show you my
best in Napoleon?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yeah, you show me your Napoleon boost.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Even a home proud And.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
I told you in my library.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
And I told you I wanted Teddy Rosevelt one.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, yeah, which I need to It's one thing again,
I need to slice.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
There's files for Teddy Rosevelt and stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
And I printed off and I was telling Sam and
it drove me nuts as printed off a pencil holder
and it's you know, about so hot and I'm pretty
big around. And the new thing about it is it's
it's it's a Star Trek one because.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
It's got the.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Like cut out in a repeating pattern or or or
or of the surface of the whole thing. Is the
Star Trek delta. Okay, just like the the for a
Star Trek uh, which that's a rabbit hole I can
get into.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
But I'm I'm going to of why that is the
is what it is and whatever.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
You don't want to go into a this is.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
This is Yeah, this is a rabbit hole. We don't
need to go town.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
So you've basically taken a lot of strength. So you've
gone down the rabbit hole of three D printing.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well I did live in that rabbit hole, but no
time about why the star Trek delta is the symbol
for like star Trek and like star Fleet and stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
But now it is, and it's or whatever.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
No, I'm printing it and it's I mean, it's a nine.
It's just doing the last two like two or three
layers around the top ring of it. Yeah, and run
out No, no, because I just bought I just bought
like three schools of filament.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, and I use this.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I used this first thing I printed off with my
black filament, so now I wouldn't run out.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
No. No, the pencil.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Holder shifted like a cinameter over so the last two
layers are just off on the top, so I had
to like I had to trim it down and sand
it down. It's fine. It just drove me crazy, like
how do you get there? And then it just goes
just slightly, just just.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Enough to well.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Also Jeff had like, well, you you know it from Jeff. Yeah,
and so that was like, what, like, how old is
that thing?

Speaker 1 (04:25):
It's not very old, no, I mean.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
But it's like it was one of the cheaper ones,
wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Uh, it's like an entry level one. I mean, that's
the whole point of it. It's not it's it's not
a three D printer I'm gonna have for fifteen years
and like thousands of prints from It's it's an intry
level one to kind of get you into it familiar
with it, which like I want to get a really
nice printer down the road that has multiple they can

(04:50):
do multiple callers, and so it had yeah, because it's
just the one whatever, one filament and at a time
that it's it. But like Sam's got that really schmancy
one that his brother gave him.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, but it's like I'm pretty sure his brother got
that school.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah he did, but that drummer one of her somewhere
about that nude it's a thousand dollar thirty printers.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
So and even with his like thirty printer, I like
it's a much nicer one. You still gonna have issues
where you have, you know, a pr prince gonna fail
for whatever reason.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yeah, uh, you know, sometimes it just shift a little bit.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I was thankful though, I mean it had shifted at
the end instead of shifting like mad at one.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Uh just oh it woulda doen for.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
So I was like, it's also right now you're living
your uh you and Sam are living your Star Trek like.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yes, because we effectively have replicators. Well shit huh ah hm, well.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I shall be I shall be right back.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, ref another one.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Continue to talk as I disappear.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Actually you do want.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Ramble on your uh your star Trek grants about the
uh how you're uncivil while done?

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Well, since I'm a noon now, uh, we'll just should
talk called him or should we? Should we not where
it's called it? Really god my mom my mom? Well,

(06:35):
I don't know if I talk about.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Not rambling on about that, it's not ram went on myself.
I sound like a crazy person right now, like talking
to no what.

Speaker 1 (06:51):

wonderful human being. In case someone's told you, in the

I don't have anything to do with.

side so.

and stuff. That's saying I will probably start.

Speaker 1 (08:37):

don't have to do an annual playthrough. That's saying.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I did do the uh.

Speaker 3 (08:47):

the UH I love that game.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
I hate three tops.

Speaker 2 (09:01):

Speaker 3 (09:01):
It was especially the uh like where you have to
jump like you know, Super run and.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Jump platform and a play don't want to get through
that one particular platform with the dragon.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah, egg Yeah, that's the that's the one I don't
look forward to every time I do a play through.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
I think so far, I've gone all the dragons, all
the eggs. The only thing I haven't done is like,
you know, collect.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
All the uh all the gyms, all the gyms.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
I would say if I I don't think money does
money Bags show up at any point in time in
the first one, I don't think he does.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I don't remember it. No, the gyms are just the
dragons Ford Yeah, nasty, nasty turned into Norse.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah, cause that's saying cause I was talking to Sam
about it. Like I've played, I played like a little
bit of all of us.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
I played the like I want Like.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
The one I really wanted to play was the UH,
the the remakes, the not the remastered, the remakes like
where Dark as spar to a Dark Turn like with
uh Cinder.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
As the bad guy.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
I don't think I'm played those those were like extremely dark.
We're talking like it it was around like I was
in high school when they UH these games start come out,
and like it was like truck It like happy, happy
little Sparrow turned into a dark.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Dragon, like an actual serious startup VII.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Now you playing the remastered? Huh you're playing the remaster.
Now are you playing with the remastered the soundtrack or
the original sentertrack?

Speaker 3 (10:36):

few weeks ago. Yeah, I just I can't. I need to.
I need I need the original, which I'll just playing
my emulator.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Yeah, Like I had a copy of the original, but
like I had it on the light the PlayStation store
and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
So that's saying cause.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I guess that's saying.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I've always enjoyed Spiral, just never got a chance to
really play a lot of it.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
You're too busy with Uh, I have a Tasmania Target,

Speaker 6 (11:57):

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Three levels on like three levels and a boss, so
it does it like three times.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
So yeah, so like you're you're looking at like twelve worlds,
three bosses, and the final level.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
So that's the same.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Like the games are quick. He could beat the game
within like four hours, Yeah, if you know what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (12:29):

the uh wing feather saga.

Speaker 1 (14:27):

Speaker 1 (14:35):
What they're saying the arm finger saga?

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeahs of the of these a wholly named things.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
So if anybody doesn't I'm having a hard time getting
past it.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I really really am, cause it's like the most unoriginal, unimaginative,
lazy name for like a dark border.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Who are you, lord ruler? Why it's not define sovereign.
You're born to a king, you know, define emperor. No,
it's lord ruler.

Speaker 3 (15:18):

Speaker 2 (15:26):

Speaker 3 (15:26):
The source of his power is the will of ascension.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
That's the source of his power. See that, that's fine,
that's a that's a fine day. The will of a cention. Oh,
I'll take it. The Final Empire? Whose rules? This empire?
The lord ruler? Don't what the fuck call it lord emperor?
I don't know on own f there are only three

(16:03):

there's there's there's a Romanov family in it, the how
Zolar family that were Germany like.

Speaker 1 (16:41):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
