Speaker 1 (00:04):
So Hunter's Moon, the premise of it is his only attack. Well,
it's his only attack that he ever announces. Why does
he announce it to give everybody else a chance to run?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
But he's a bad guy, isn't he? He is?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
But at the same time he's going the attack is
so bad.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
And so devastating that he can legit take out city.
So when he announce this Hunter's Moon, the sun like
wherever the area is becomes blocked ass about the sun
with second eclipse Okay, comes like you know, kind of
a reddish attag, a giant spirit wol that he has

(01:00):
commanded since like you know, since like his earliest days
when he first became a villain. Starts walking through wherever
he's at. Portals start opening up and you just see animals, dogs, canines,
wolves where we'll start flooding into the city and they

(01:22):
start to gather on him.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
And then he has them attack.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
So as he does this, as they are old timing
to them, everybody's trying to escape. Everybody's trying to hide,
recover because if they get like you know, because like
the pack has been summoned and they like it has
been someone to kill any dogs at this time lose
their ability and are fallen under.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
The control of Hunter's Moon. So as it goes through.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
And as like it goes down, like the like mister
c goes like fight out, goes full animal, like the
where he wears the the the the pelt of the
wolf death God. He kind of transforms into a hybrid
and then like and starts going full animal and attacks

(02:24):
and does not stop until somebody's able to put him down.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
This attack.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Either you gotta be you gotta be one of the
few who can actually get through him. Board's like, you
gotta be able to because that's saying he has his mentality,
but it's a bloodlust mentality. Think of like the Punisher
if he decided to.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Go bloodlust that level.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
And he that's like and it does not stop until
his prey till he deems that is the target is
done for and gone and it's no longer part of
the problem. It's a show of force of just saying like, no,

(03:11):
you will be ripped and had there will be nothing
left and how I have it planned out? Like cause
so the main villain, all the villain of the of
the story.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
For it isn't interesting hero or a villain he is
a villain, but this is a terrible villain. Though you
make him do heroic things.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
He does good by doing evil things.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
That doesn't make any sex.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Say, for instance, let's say like we have a corrupt
business that are infringing like you know, security and everything else.
Investigating like, okay, why were was he a why was
this guy able to break in? Hmm, we've discovered that
the guy who owns the building has been infringing you know,
all the security and all that stuff. To in point

(04:04):
to do investigation. He does good by doing what Yeah,
I'd say he still does evil things. He still steals, robs, kills,
and everything else at his own leisure, but it's one
of those he does it for see.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I feel he's more of an anti hero than a villain.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Well, the reason he's labeled as a villain is because
of his first appearance when he went like when he
ended up killing the president of.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
The United States.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Because of the president.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
He was originally modeled after Trump, but this was back
in twenty sixteen when I first came up with the
concept of it.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
He is a president Ronald drum.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Yeah, let's go with that.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
The guy was modeled off Trump.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
He was like, you know, starting to turn dictatorius and
ended up like dropping a nuke on what on h
on us soil on mister Scene's home, and he was
able to survive do his abilities, and so he ends
up gathering a force a select you know, gathering up

(05:18):
like the strength and stuff like an arsenal and attack
DC while the villains were doing everything they can to
stop mister c It was a vain.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
And he ends up destroying half of DC to kill
and kill.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
As the president.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
And it was then labeled you know, like.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Or even yeah in a blu level Washington DC.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Yeah, well I say that, yeah because if if, if
my FBI agent is listening, and I'd say, we the
fictional story ye.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
DC.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yeah, M very well it has so masters, What have
you been working on in your campaign, as.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I believe my campaign, Yes, oh.

Speaker 7 (06:17):
I've been.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I've been working on the next session. I know, I
know the beats of what's gonna happen. I don't care
how you all get.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
To the beats. You'll you'll get there.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
M But what if I fought you all the way
through one? I know you're not going to too.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
You'll get to the beats. It's it's it's just how
it's gonna happen. I give you the illusion of joys.
But I was playing because I've been playing boulders Gate three.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
And you're enjoying it so far?

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Really fun. I'm trying to fuck everybody. I want to
fuck Shadow for the most.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
And I'm probably but I'm probably gonna fuck that fan
Fire guy first. I already let him like feet off
of me, so it's like, yeah, anyways, it's a fun game.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Did you get the Teethling Mommy, No, i haven't got
muscle on me yet.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I've got Gail Shadow Heart Hysteria.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
And did you get the Wizard?

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, Gail the Wizard?

Speaker 6 (07:24):
Yeah, well yeah, as soon as he popped up, but
he's like schmoozing me, Like, yep, I'm wanna.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Fuck him, dude. What about the Bear? Get the drunk yet?
I just really, I just freed him, but he's not
in my party yet, so yeah, no, I'll get there.
Oh I'm gonna fuck the bear. Gonna the bear. It's
gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
Okay, No, but uh, I was playing it last night
and then because what's gonna happen next in the campaign, I.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Was like, Okay, I want this is gonna happen. Yeah,
this is this is the beats of what I want
to happen. But I was growing up in playing that
I got an idea where you you're gonna start each
campaign at point A and the end of it, you're
gonna get to point B. But this you will have

(08:17):
two choices. You won't know what when you can make
these choices, but there are two branches that lead from
point A to point B.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
So there are two beats to follow. Would you pick
song A or song B? Okay, that depends on what
you all decide.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
To do and my emotions at the time.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
Yes, So, and I think I know when I'm how
wanna do your malfunction mechanic? I think if it's between
like a uh yeah, I I I I need to
write it now, it's between like A one and a five,
it's a catastrophic malfunction.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
If it's between like A five and a nine or something,
it's a minor malfunction. Then if it's uh.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Ten, like eleven or above or something, I'll figure it out.
It's not a malfunctioning you you get to you succeed
on the role. So so like mind malfunction is like
your stretch arms go out, I mean stop short kind
of strong malfunction is you try to do that in my.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Arms the coil or they fall off.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
That's something you gotta deal with in your arm, like
your arms retracted to your chest and you're stuck like
this for a while with a little babe t Rex.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
But yeah, I was told to be where the mighty
t rex are ten.

Speaker 7 (09:43):
Like I think, if you roll a ten or ten
a round, I'll be like, no malfunction, okay, And then
if you're rolling at twenty.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Go give you a little plus one or something to
a roll.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Well that or like, well if if we do that,
I can either bank it or yeah, you can bake
it or whatever.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
But yeah, so anybody who doesn't know what we're talking about,
so for anybody who listens to our terrible D and
D sessions, Heath has decided to do his own campaign
based on a story that he has written forever ago.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah it is an old, abandoned story. But I thought
I liked the world. I thought the world a good
dn D campaign.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
So we so we decided to like to turn into
a campaign when Titans wake. Yes, so if anybody gets
a chance to go to the Crossroad Guild Adventures.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Listen to only my session. Yeah, like there's just one
right now.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Yeah, So I play a.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
War Forged Artificer who basically is kind of like a
like Launchpad as inspector gadgets who has Launchpad mcgadget. Yeah,
who has like a bunch of difference, like like he
doesn't has a bunch of different abilities and stuff like that,
but like you know, but he has that old trope.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
He doesn't remember who he is.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
So how I've got his uh set up to whenever
he I hit a I get a GNAT twenty a
natural twenty.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I can either use it or I can bank it.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
If I bank up what twentyn twenties I gain, I
gain all my memories back, get total.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Reclass and then more. Then we'll roll for malfunction.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Yeah, and I don't get Yeah, And the thing with
malfunction is that was something he's wanted to do.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Who has done This is another little recal to to
to add to it.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Yeah, So if something that happens like and it depending
on how crucial it is of just like uh crap,
I just like if it's.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
Like something simple I won't need because I'm just I'm
waiting for Go Go gadget helicopter and you rolling two
and a Beatie propeller bosuf.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Blums.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, because depending on how dire the situation depends on
the malfunction, like of when I use the malfunction, but
also have different personalities, so like when I when I
do a malfunction, like at any point if something hits me,
I can roll a personality check.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Is it when I roll like whenever I malfunction, I
change personalities.

Speaker 6 (12:30):
Or is it when if that depends you know, let's
say like if you if you roll a mat one
for your malfunction, yeah, you not only malfunction what you're
trying to do personality change.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yeah, and each personality has like different as at advantages
and negatives and stuff like.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Hard if you come in contact with a magnet, even.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
When we just start singing, when I get like a
magnet on it, you want me just start doing.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
That, and it's all like I don't know if anybody
else would get it, but that would tackle my fantasy
also starting.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
And Henney, Yeah, just anybody who doesn't know that.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
That is a future Futurama reference where anytime Bender gets
hit with a magnet, he becomes a false singer, but
in reality he just wants to be a folk singer.
He just uses the magnet, you know what, Like I
don't know if he just uses the magnet as an
excuse to sing folk or if it actually does affect him.

(13:37):
But no, I'd say that's like kind of what we've
been working on, especially for we Still I'm waiting for
Hate to finish the rest of the script for shadow Lands.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
I'm trying. I have thinks the projects of responsibilities.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Stay away from a fucking three D printer, a prayer
off in last night?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
There what what did your print off last night?

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Coaster of the Darkly Commanding? It's like this nice federation,
It's beautiful, just looks nice. That's wonderful. Plan didn't go.
You're just jealous. You don't have a replicator.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
I don't need a replicator. The things I would do
with it.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Well, they do have their pricey they do have a
silicon replicators and make things when I can.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
When I can replicate a turd, duncan.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
There is a food through you.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
But I can replicate a turn ducant. You know you
remember that while I'm referencing.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
There's a new Futurama where Thanksgiving episode where everybody kept
on making turn Duncan's for Christmas. That's the one where
Vender and Zoiberg all Santa. But it is time for
us to go back everyone, so we shall see everybody
later

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
