Speaker 1 (00:01):
I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't
like it. You would like it. Nobody likes it. Nobody
likes it.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
So m I met the final boss set up on
Meddle Gear three.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Okay, I'm fighting the boss.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
She is still pain but.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
May game like I love Meddle Gir Solid three.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
I have never replayed it. I did, I didn't play three.
It once and it was so it was one of
those like it's so hard when it doesn't need to be,
but then you also kind of want it to be
hard because then it's too easy.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (00:48):
It's because I played Middlegar Solid over and over and
over and over again.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Well with Medle Gear three, if you screw up, you
you pay for it.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
You pay for that screw up.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
But I have I have no I've never had any
desire to uh what is it a game? Ever? Again,
it's so brutal.

Speaker 6 (01:12):
I'm it pretty well. When I screw up, I really
screw up, and.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
To can that's the race we're looking forward.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
But I'm just saying because like, like if I do
screw up, is legit just because like I legit screw
it up myself. But like I probably only killed about
fifty people in that game. Normally I'm sneaking around knocking

(01:54):
them out and all that. Yeah, the only reasonhy kill
can was so h's because of uh one mistake in particular,
just real.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Quick, you and your kid? Is it a mill or
a fewal?

Speaker 5 (02:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
It's a little weird and muting.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
So the reason Heat is asking me this after her
uh we finished Heat's campaign of UH when Titan's Wake.
He are you wanted to do a star trek after
this or after when Titan's Wake or you wanted to
do UH? Well, I'd get later on this year and
take a break from uh dming.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
And like Jim, I mean I still need to read.
I'll probably take a better break for the vmming.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Just so we can get them.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
If you find a white jacket with like a faux
for interior, that's mine.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I don't want where I put it. Where have you been?
I've been.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Eighteen through fifteen, and I've been in bread.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
It was I think in a bluggy full of peanut butter,
and I don't know where the buggy went.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
May wanna go find a buggy ful of peanut butter?

Speaker 1 (03:22):
It was back here.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
I was told to put it in the back dock,
and then I got yelled.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
At for going it.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
My him the Duther runs receivers.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
The yeah yeah, well and maybe on the trailer then,
so it'll be there tomorrow. Be a jacket or anything.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
No, I got a jack at a home it's just
since what I wore here.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Okay, I'll be on the lookout.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Okay, hearst in Bluggy.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Say as you were saying.

Speaker 8 (03:57):
Cause I still need to read 'em, cause it's a
I'm gonna take a break so that we can we
can read up. I can read up, and then we
can get through your campaign. Getbody your every.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Week cause you're soon. We got cats one shot.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
We may do a until I can get the Crooked
Moon book.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Let me start that.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
We'll do a series of uh, we'll do the cosmic series.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
What are we gonna do?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Miss like?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Uh, the miss a short one? Do mysteries.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
I got a sh I got a few short adventures
cause I really don't wanna do my homebrew yet.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Until I get more stuff done on it.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Mhm, pretty good, bline Apple. But yeah, so he's wanting
to do a Star Trek campaign for all you trekkies
out there.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
He wouldn't let me do this.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
You don't know about Star Trek.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Sorry, and you think you think me and Sam fight
you on stuff?

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Now we would. It would end a friendship. Did you
try to do something like No? No, the Kiddim record
says four fifteen is a speed?

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Why are you talking about par sex? It's supposed to
be plaide.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
What's ludicrous speed? Same reason Heath will not let me
do the Lord of the Rings. Yeah, anything that Heath
loves I'm not allowed to touch.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Is it gonna figure out what ship you're gonna be
on unless you want to do your own?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Well, hey, I just do.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Like a lesser known ship Plash or the Norway or
the steam Runner class.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Something like that.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Or are they doing mhm?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
What? Uh?

Speaker 3 (07:07):
What's the purpose of low ships?

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Were not really fighters or exploration they're they're they're more just.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Are we delivery drivers?

Speaker 1 (07:19):
No?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
No, you're not transports like a steam Running class or
like the Norway class. They're I feel like they were
mentor to kind of replace the Miranda's as kind of
like the workforce of the fleet. But you can't count
Miranda and Miranda or am I just sticking Miranda class
because the Marinas are I mean they were in service

(07:43):
for like three hundred years.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Which one do remind me which one is that Miranda.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
It's the one where they it was just a reconfiguration
of the Constitution kit.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Okay, so it's it's the the sales on.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
The side of the saucer and then there's like the
bar that goes over top, and there's a mission pod
and so the pod you can be changed for what
you needed. They can put in a communications array, they
can put in at advanced engineering lab, they can put
in just more weapons.

Speaker 9 (08:17):
It's the most versatile starfleet. Whether Miranda class is still
used in t G or yeah, there are classes during
the Diminion War really.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Because because it's like I feel like the Mirandom class
and the Excelsior Class, I know why they use them
in TG because it's like.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Well, we're just gonna.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Use the models, you know, we have from we have
the older movies.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
But you have to make an in universe reason as
to why these ships are still in the service. And
it's like I think sometimes and you get this one
world life for like the BFA, the Dow Bomber.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Sometimes this thing.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Is designed and it is just perfect and it just
cannot be improved upon, true, and you just you.

Speaker 7 (09:10):
Just keep as the as the the technology advances, you
just keep updating technology, but you don't change the basic
you know, design of what it is.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
And I feel like that's what the Marina.

Speaker 9 (09:23):
And the Constitution or no, no, because it's constitution.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
It lived its life.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
But the Excelsior class, they were just perfect. It just
it just it just worked. And there's no reason that
you like, you can't just you can't fix what isn't broken.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
And they just well, you know, we've got instead of.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
Photo on torpedoes, quin from Torpedoes now and and and and.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
All this good stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
So the Star trek Ram was brought to you by
through the eyes of an insign. Don't expect an episode
anytime soon. We're all behind trust me.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
I know, mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
What goodness to kill?

Speaker 5 (10:10):
To kill an Oxcester class and say play that Celsa refit,
which I might just.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
End up doing.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
You pretty have a heart on for a Miranda class, But.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
The Excelsior Refit is my favorite.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
All time favorite, the most out of What would Sam
say about that? I'm not gonna serve on an EXCELSIORR
class because he wants that's the saying, because he wants
to play Klingon. But like he probably will no one.

(10:47):
Sam will probably go with Vulcan. He loves to twenty
years too much. He's gonna be He's gonna be a
pink haired Fulcan.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
How about a balcon have been cares and watch it?
Mm hmm illogical?

Speaker 9 (11:01):
I know, Sam, that would be a very good bulkan
of ESPN hair.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
It is entirely superfluous, therefore is dillgical.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, i'd say, Well, I say, I'm pretty sure Jess
is gonna.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Join in them, so I'm not for sure what they
would be.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
I know cat, I don't know what cat would be.
I won't be cat dog, cat dog? Do that dog
a loan in space is a little cat dog.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Because that's the thing I like, especially for Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
I'm just gonna play myself. I think that's gonna be
the funniest thing. Then, Uh, I'd say, Jeff, this is

(12:08):
Jeff gonna join if we.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Don't always gonna play though he might be he wouldn't
know that.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Hm, cause Jeff, Well, it's say Jeff knows what not
like star treks strictly from what you've told him or.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
No, I think he's he's seen a little less than
you have, Okay.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
But might have to sit down with him be like
anyway here for the race to pick from him. I
can see him picking a tailor, right, just because Taylor
rights are very argument of him.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
And him just cause they just argue for the sick
argument and and ye.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
Him just doing that just so he can argue with everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
I don't but also part of me like if I
do do uh, I don't, I don't know what would.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
I call myself. I'm cat dog. Everybody just calls me
cat dog? Wow, because I love cat dog or mutt
or half breed. People are very racist against me.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
You're start though.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Or freak.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Starfleet is very accepting.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
They call me gypsy, tramps and thieves. In the middle
of that's a will be in the middle of like.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Of like sneaking mission. Now No, I said, oh no,
what I think I'm get the zoomis we need distraction?
Just throw a bone.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah, that's saying like because the the dog race, like
what have they actually appeared.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
In the good t.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
M hm.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, they have a very aggressive nature. And they loved her.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
What kind of dog would I be? I don't want
to be an old best noun. If I was playing
I would.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
If I wasn't playing me, I would definitely play an
old fasten Holl, just like if this role plays an
old fast how named uh oh, no copper extremely kind
of bat shopping does

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Muh well, it's time to go back

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
