Speaker 1 (00:03):
Caalaroga Shock Media. Hey there, I'm Johnny Mack with five
good news stories. Now. Apparently humpback whales are pretty cool.
Alan is an underwater photographer. He takes pictures of the whales.
He says, I've been bumped, rolled, whacked over, coupled by wales.
(00:24):
I've had whales follow me to the boat. Wales have
their own language. He told a story that he was
swimming in the water and this mother humpback saw me.
I thought something was wrong. She came over to me
and started to try to lift me up out of
the water so I could breathe. Apparently the mother humpback
reacted the way she would with a young lan, saying
they do it with their calves. When their calves are born,
they can't swim, so they lift them up to breathe.
(00:46):
Good news for a dog who survived the Texas floods
by hiding in a washing machine. Cody told the local
news his families at home had been flooded with waste
high water in just twenty minutes. He didn't have time
to look for the dog before going a higher ground.
He's not being a jerk, he said. I had to
break my window and When I climbed through, I heard
scratching and a wimp. I turned my head around the
corner and I saw him just floating in the water.
(01:08):
Got another message in a bottle for you, John and Kate.
John and Kate found one of these bottles. It was
a note from Anita and Brad. John and Kate were
walking in County Carey, Ireland. They found a bottle in
it a note from Anita and Brad recounting a cherished
evening they had spent dining on bell Island in Canada.
The message read, Anita and Brad's day trip to Belle Island. Today.
(01:30):
We enjoyed dinner, this bottle of wine and each other
on the edge of the island. To found, please call
us with a phone number. Thirteen years later, the bottle
shows up in Ireland. The number wasn't good, but they
checked Facebook. Anita responded, revealing that she and Brad had
gotten married four years after sending the bottle. Yes, they
(01:50):
live in Newfoundland. Brad said, we were just young people
in love. We're now older people in love. We're glad
that the story got out. We're meeting new friends because
of it, and hopefully we'll get back to Ireland soon
been a pretty whirlwind forty eight hours. It was Monday night.
I was putting our young son to bed. My phone
was ding ding ding ding, which was really unusual. Then
I can hear Anita laughing the other room. I came
out and she was like, you're not gonna believe this.
(02:11):
That's awesome. In nineteen sixty six, the Beatles made a
video for their song Rien. In it, They're in a
tree Now. The tree is a finalist in the UK's
Tree of the Year contest. The tree is nominated in
the theme being Rooted in Culture. The Lebanese Cedar was
planted in seventeen twenty. Other people who have visited the

tree include Queen Victoria, the Sar of Russia, and the
Shah of Persia. Woodland Trust saw cultural references from as
far back as the sixteenth century to the tree. They
think it might be a thousand years old. Wow. Branches
of the tree were regularly cut back to encourage new growth,
resulting in several huge digits extending in different directions. A
