Speaker 1 (00:03):
Callaroga Shark Media, are there. I'm Johnny Man with five
good news stories. Good news if you hate going to
the dentist. A puppy named Aldo has been making people
feel more comfortable during their appointments, snuggling and calming children
while they undergo their dental treatment. Now the bad news.
(00:24):
Aldo works at the dentist office in Ecuador. So I'm
not sure where you're listening today. You might have to
commute to see the puppy. Aldo is an emotional support
dog with special skills that allows him to stay with
children during their appointments. He reduces their stress, increases their
trust in the dentist, and reinforces their self esteem. I'm
not sure this next story is actually good news. It
(00:44):
might be bad news if you were planning on working
today at a Starbucks in South Korea. Again, I don't
know what you do. I don't know where you are.
Are you in Ecuador or at the dentist? Are you
in South Korea doing some work? I don't know. I'm
in a basement news. Anyway, if your plan today was
to go to the Starbucks in South Korea, I have
(01:05):
bad news for you. So this is four good news
stories and one bad news stories these Starbucks in South
Korea has told customers you can no longer set up
desktop computers, printers, and multi outlet power strips at the Starbucks.
This is nationwide at South Korea Starbucks. The policy targets
a group of customers known as and my Korean is
(01:25):
not strong kagan jok c a gn g joka anyway.
The term combines the Korean words for cafe, study and
tribe and refers to customers who spend several hours studying
or doing office work at the Starbucks in South Korea.
They are also sometimes called cafe squatters, which is easier
(01:46):
for me to say. Starbucks Korea wants you to know
you can still bring your laptop, You're still welcome to work,
you can still study, just you know, don't get ridiculous
with what you bring. Now. I've been spending more time
at lakes up here in New Jersey, but I got
to be because the next state over, as you know,
is Pennsylvania, and an alligator was spotted in a Pennsylvania lake.
(02:07):
I don't expect that around here that would the alligator
would get me. There's no chance of me going up.
Might be alligators in this lake, not around these parts.
Ricky was out fishing in Bucks County Magnolia Lake. He
caught something. He told a WPVITV hooked onto something. I
brought a close and I was like, oh no, that's
a gator. That's definitely a gator that can't be here.
The Bristol Township Police Department said, we have notified the
(02:29):
Wildlife and Game Commission, who will be addressing this situation.
Please use caution and avoid using the creek until it's safe.
The police think the alligator was likely a pet that
was abandon after being too large for the animal to handle.
It is being sent to its new home and a sanctuary. Meanwhile,
a four year old called nine one one. The police
answered the boy wanted to talk about sports now, as
(02:53):
it is standard operating procedure, the police went out to
the house. When kids make accidental nine to one one calls,
that happen probably twenty years ago when my son was young.
I was like. The cop showed up and I was
like what and they checked to make sure everything was okay.
Totally get it. Appreciate you, the PD said. During the visit,
we learned the boy was celebrating his birthday, so our
dayshift team came to make a special day even more
(03:15):
memorable than they remind us. While accid until nine one
calls do happen. We always want kids to feel safe
and comfortable reaching out to us, turning a small mistake
into a moment of connection. That's what community policing is
all about. And as soon as I saw this next story,
I was like, I have to put this one next,
because you never know. Congratulations to Pearl the Chicken. Pearl
(03:36):
is now officially the oldest chicken in the world. As
of August twelfth, Pearl was fourteen years and sixty nine
days old, so you can do the math. Sonia said
she hatched Pearl the chicken in her personal incubator on
March thirteenth, twenty eleven. Most Easter egger hens live an
average of five to eight years. Again, Pearl is fourteen
(04:00):
and change. Pearl doesn't move around so much, so she'll
spends most of the time in the laundry room. Sonia
said she's welcome to come in the living room because
she likes to watch TV when she hears it on,
and she doesn't mind the kitten that lives with the family.
Pearl still lays eggs laid one even this year. In
case you're curious. The previous oldest chicken was Peanut, who
(04:20):
passed away on Christmas twenty twenty three at the age
of twenty one years and two hundred and thirty eight
days old. So hopefully Pearl has many years to go.
And those are your five good news stories for today.
