Garden. As an older woman livingin Coburg, Oregon, as used to
(00:52):
a quiet life, but nothing couldhave prepared me for the bizarre side I
saw in my garden one evening. It was a cool or summer night in
August, and I was baking inmy kitchen with the window open and joining
the breeze. When I was aboutto start cleaning everything up, something in
my garden caught my eye. Theedge my beloved garden was just below my
(01:12):
window sill, so I admire itrather frequently. At first, I thought
it might be a small animal, but there was something unusual about how it
moved. It was an odd sight, even out of my peripheral vision.
I then saw additional tiny figures runningthrough the plants and flowers, moving so
(01:34):
quickly that it was hard to determinewhat they were. Initially thought I had
to be imagining it, but themore I watched, the more I became
convinced that I was seeing something real. They were no more than ten inches
tall, but moved with incredible speedand agility. They were nude and had
(01:57):
wild, unkempt hair, making themlooked like miniature savages. I could see
their faces now twisted with wicked grins. I sat there, transfixed as the
tiny creatures ran through my garden, shrieking and hissing as they went. They
seemed to be playing some sort ofgame, darting in and out of the
(02:19):
plants and chasing each other around. As they ran. They left a trail
of destruction in their wake, uprootingflowers and tearing apart leaves. Soon I
saw what they were so excited about. They were dragging a dead orange and
white cat that I didn't recognize,but I noticed it wore a collar.
Watching them gave me an awful feeling. I had never seen anything like this
(02:46):
before. Didn't know what to do. Should I call someone the police,
or was this some sort of hallucinationcaused by something I eat. As I
sat there, I realized that thecreachers had noticed me. They had stopped
all movement and stared straight at me, their tiny eyes gleaming with agitation.
(03:08):
That's when I realized I needed toclose the windows and lock all the doors.
I slowly reached for the window, trying not to make any sudden movements,
but it was too late. Thecreatures were already on the way towards
me with a burst of speed. For a moment, it looked like an
infestation of rodents was running towards myhouse. I could see their teeth,
(03:28):
now sharp and yellow. I knewI was in trouble. I turned ran
before I could finish closing the windows, but the creatures were even faster than
I thought, and they quickly closedthe distance between us. I felt tiny
hands grabbing my ankles as I enteredthe hallway, and after stumbling onto one
knee, the creatures crawled all overme, their sharp teeth sinking into my
(03:50):
skin. I screamed, but noone came to help. The creatures seemed
to enjoy that I was in pain. Finally, I scrambled to my feet,
tearing myself away from the tiny monsters. I stumbled into my bathroom and
locked the door, Panting and sweating. For a moment, I sat there,
(04:11):
trying to catch my breath and understandwhat had just happened. I could
still hear him in the hallway fora few minutes, till there was a
eerie silence. Eventually I gained thecourage to open the door, ready to
swing away with my bathroom plunger. But they were gone. It was like
I was ambushed by a bunch oflittle ghosts. There was no trace of
(04:33):
them besides the damage to my gardenplans. I still don't know what those
tiny creatures were or where they originated, but I know that they were real,
that they were dangerous, and theywere something to be feared. Submitted
